"garp let ace die" ace killed himself. nice that you let the entire point fly over your head though. people who blame everyone else for their problems truly want there to be a villian in aces story. ace was his own worst enemy. idk how you guys think "garp let ace die" when ace would've killed himself regardless of who stepped up for him. obviously. because his entire friends and family and even hundreds of people he'd never met stepped up for him and risked their lives for him and none of that mattered. how would garps influence have changed anything? if Luffys didn't? if white beards didn't? ace wanted to die. ace chose to die. ignoring that and blaming his death on everyone else is a disservice to the story oda is trying to tell you.

when you're into the Big Ship™ in a Big Fandom™, you have the luxury of having an OTP - a real One True Pairing, where you can read about just them for ages, and you will never run out of fics, and everything is perfect and beautiful and nothing hurts
but when you go to a smaller fandom, you'd better pray to whatever god you worship that someone else in this room ships the same thing that you do, and that if they do, they're writing more than late-night crackfic, because you're on thin fucking ice!
and how small is your small fandom? is it less than 100 fics? maybe even...less than 20 fics?
welp, then it's time to make peace with that god and either open up a text document or learn how to ship everything, because it's swim or drown babey! and your ship is sinking fast
anyway all of this is to say that after hanging out in small fandoms and shipping less-common pairings for a while, going back into a Big Huge Fandom™ is wild because suddenly it's like...wait, why didn't I ship these people again? I don't remember. why was I only sticking to one ship in this fandom?? boring of me, honestly. these guys should make out.

Someone could make a post that is literally just listing the definition of proship without actually mentioning the word "proship" and antis would fucking eat it up!
Like you could make a post that's like "It's okay if others have fictional ships that make you uncomfortable, because at the end of the day it's all not real anyway and no one is really getting hurt here, and you shouldn't harass anyone over discomfort."
and the comments will be filled with antis going "Proshitters don't even look at this post! This post is not for you!" and it's like buddy, pal, friend, my dude. That is literally what the definition of proship is.

Malakai’s first and only choice was Amerie, he goes out of his way to befriend her even though it’s social suicide, he helps her, they have fun/soft/funny moments (basketball, that sex scene, swimming, arcade date etc), both apologise and strive to be better, Amerie is there for Malakai despite having her heart broken, those dino keychains, the yearning and heart eyes.
Heartbreak high gave us a canon interracial relationship between two Brown kids built on respect, love, affection. Even after breaking up, they only had eyes for each other. But fandom acts like they’re strangers and ship them with white people who have knowingly and/or intentionally hurt them. Fandom racism never rests.

It's been a while since I've remarked on the Imogen with glasses thing (despite being one of the Patient Zeroes for the discussion about it here on Tumblr Way Back When), which has been slowly going out of vogue but apparently is still being discussed, but I feel like at this point, it's noteworthy that Laura has alluded to knowing about it as a trend on-stream and has sounded baffled, confused, and upset about it being so popular.
Also, it remains frustrating how people misinterpret "the specific way that this entered fanon was part of an overall series of changes to make Imogen look 'cute' in a way that made her more childlike, which is infantilizing, with these glasses being a specific element named as something that made her cuter, and the specific recurring styling speaks toward that intent, especially since the glasses are often in conjunction with other specific design changes that make her seem more childlike" to be "having glasses is infantilizing" just so they can go "it's so stupid people think having glasses alone is infantilizing", which is not what anyone is saying

Its funny how moving on from a media fixation creates an absolute inability to read theories about it anymore 😭 like I actually don't care because my brain finds it boring now. The story itself isn't. I could probably watch it 1000 times, but the extra fandom stuff is so intolerable to me 😭 I'd rather die than partake in it
