Established Acesan in Warlord!Sanji would be so funny lmao
Like Ace is telling Jinbei all about his boyfriend and brother and Jinbei is processing the fact that he's Sanji's boyfriend and his little brother is Sanji's captain. And then Ace is taken for his execution and not long after Luffy is there with an army of their Impel Down escapees.
He fills Crocodile in on the way to Marineford and the hooked man looks so disappointed that their kid is dating a commander of the pirate who kicked his rookie ass. Like Crocodile is going to get shit for this so hard. Jinbei is already giving him a look that says it's the first thing he's going to do if they survive.
Crocodile blocking Doffy's foot from kicking him just looks up at his coparent and goes "Fire Fist is Sanji's boyfriend." And Doffy just pushes off his hook to fly at the admirals on the execution platform. Mihawk who is fighting Vista looks as Doffy strings a bunch of marines up and then sends them crashing into each other.
"The hell is going on!?" Mihawk yells.
"He's Sanji's boyfriend!" Doffy calls back while laughing which make Mihawk rip Yoru away from blocking Vista and slice several marines in an instant. The Whitebeard fleet becomes confused as Mihawk and Doffy start helping in their fight to save and free Ace and get him and Luffy to safety.
They succeed and Jinbei gets the brothers out as the other four stay to fight. The Warlords keep it hidden, even after Jinbei joins the crew because he sees how smitten Ace is with his kid. After Wano the crew is docked at an uninhabited island Jinbei just tells everyone he has some friends stopping by as well. And then the warlords show up. Two of which Luffy has beaten to smithereens and all of them are gearing up for a fight, except Sanji who looks angry and Jinbei who's smiling.
"Friendly! We're friendly!" Doffy laughs as Boa groans and kicks him off. Mihawk and Crocodile jump off the other.
"Listen, thanks for help at my execution but we have a warlord." Ace warns them.
"That's part of the problem, unfortunately." Crocodile says as he looks at Jinbei. "She has several of your bones to break on her list."
"I have done nothing." Jinbei smiles.
"Wrong, you've kept my child from me." Boa hisses.
"Wait, hold on." Usopp says.
"You have a kid?" Luffy asks Boa.
"Adopted." Boa smiles and as she goes to swoon she's strung up in Doflamingo's strings.
"Are we giving a shovel talk or not, there are more important things to be doing." Mihawk demands.
"Sure, shovel talk. Now Fire Fist-" Boa starts which makes the Strawhat crew start screaming questions, "we understand Sanji can set himself on fire-"
"Wait-" Crocodile interrupts.
"So just to make it very clear we will come after you if you hurt our son, got it?" Boa presses on with a sweet smile.
"Hey, Sanji-kun, what the fuck is going on?" Nami asks.
"These are the people I consider my parents, unfortunately for everyone involved." Sanji sighs.
"You good, Ace?" Luffy asks as he looks at Ace who is in a fighting stance but staring at the ground wide eyed with weak flames lapping at his body.
"No, I just had four warlords threaten me." Ace answers.
"I'm sorry I didn't think this would be how you found out, I thought you already knew. How did you not know?" Sanji says to Ace and then looks at Zoro.
"Well ghost girl was there-"
"Perona and I came to an agreement not to tell him unless he brought it up." Mihawk cuts him which makes Sanji yell in frustration and set his legs on fire.
"Oh, I see." Crocodile says. "Anna is going to love that."

*『Meeting of a lifetime』
Yandere portgas d ace x gentle reader headcanon
Regular Ace is the definition of a slow burn. Like him falling in love takes years and even then he may not act on his feelings on thr bases that he thinks he's not worthy of s/o loves.
Yandere Ace on the other hand knows this but decides to ignore those thoughts.
You guys probably met a bar when he was still a rookie.
You were the big sis of everyone and the only reason you caught his attention was from one of the little kids running up to you and calling you "onee-san!"
and while it wasn't love at first sight interest were made. On his side atleast.
You were use to seeing pirates.
You were kind and gentle , something ace wasn't used to and that what drew him to you at first.
After the first interaction between you guys ace was hooked. He kept coming back and back and soon enough he became a regular at the bar
"Hey y/n"
"Oh ace your back!?"
Your kind ways had him wanting , wanting , and wanting until he burned with an desire that consumed him whole unlit.
Ironically really
He wanted you.
He wanted you so badly it hurts
But not now , he needed to do something first before he could treat you like the royalty yoy were meant to be
This contuied for on for months and the spade pirates had a bet going on to see how long it would take ace to confess.
But those bets were soon forgotten whe ace was taken by the whitebeard pirates as read in the news paper.
It broke your tiny gentle kind heart
"I'm sure he'll be fine ms.l/n ace is strong."
"I know that but whitebeard is-"
Cue anouther set of tears falling as one of the younger girls try to comfort you.
"I know you love him ms-"
"I don't love him! He's just kind and has a nice smile and he's supper good looking and strong and he's...my..friend."
"..."
"Oh-"
The realization that you were in love with ace was one of wonder and heartbreak.
He could be dead and you wouldn't even be able to tell him your feelings.
For weeks after that you spent your days in yiur room contemplating everything.
It wasn't until you were dragged put the room did you finally began to try to move on.
Somewhere else though ace was loosing his God damn mind.
He was used to being able to get to visit your isalnd whenever and now he can't cause of "Stupid whitebeard."
Whitebeard notice how much more agitated ace seems to become on certain days and try to stay clear of him.
He's their father problem not theirs not yet atleast
Days turned into weeks and weeks into months.
There wasn't a day ace didn't think of you and your gentle voice or kind eyes as you talked about the kids as if they were your everything.
Finally ace saw that the whitebeard were good people and joined.
It wasn't until his promotion to second division captain does the right time come up to ask the question that has hunted him for months.
"I want to visit <Island name>."
Immediately all the old spade pirates in the vicinity are loosing their God damn mind as the whitebeard's stare on in confusion
Mask duece and everyone then began to poke fun of their old captain as thatch ask question on everyone's mind
"Whats that about."
"Ace little crush who he hasn't seen in like 6 months is on that island."
Immediately the whitebeards are all yelling in confusion as chaos takes hold
While they did began to set sail towards the isalnd immediately the moving after no info of you was passed around by neither the spade pirates or ace.
When they docked no one ran but they did seem nervous.
It wasn't until ace leaned over and smile did everyone begin to relax.
As soon as ace feet touched the docked he was immediately surrounded by kids of all ages and shape calling him big brother ace.
A croud was formed by the time they reached the island and while there was no outright hostility towards the whitebeard passive aggressive comments and gestures were made.
And then that's when they hear it. A soft gentle voice that hushed the happy croud.
"Ace..."
All the whitebeards head snapped towards the gentle looking woman who began to run in ace direction almost immediately.
Whitebeard were immediately on edge but with the look ace was giving thr girl they knew...
And finally the long awaited reunion was met as you and ace embraced each other in a hug.
And the whitebeards watch as ace eye get a gleaming that they were all to familiar with.
Cause it was the same one whitebeard and everyone else got when they got a new brother
"Oh would you look at that."
What better present to their little brother promotion than his lover
Yandere whitebeards are Canon change my mind
That night the whitebward kidnapped you
The poor town people didn't even do nothing about it since the whitebeards claimed you left on your own accord to go be with ace oh how wrong they were
You woke up confused and daised as the nurses that were surrounding you scurried off somewhere without a word
Then ace walked in and gently sat by you as he confessed right then and there.
He was overjoyed when you said you liked him back.
But then you had asked that dreamed question and he could only hoped that you forgave him in the future. You will its not like you had a choice
"Let me go tell the girls!"
"Um about that..."
When ace told you that his brothers got kidnapped you for him as a congratulations present you could only stare in confusion.
"Ace what do you mean?"
"It means you ain't leaving me...ever."
Cue you shooting up out of thr bed as ace let's you run out the door and practically throw yourself at the rail in hope...hope that what he said doesn't mean what you think.
You break down in tears when you see the ocean and no sign of your island in sight.
Ace did nothing but gather you in his arms as he shields you away from everyone's gaze as he walks back to his room and deposited you on his mattress with him not to far behind.
He sits the left side of you against his chest as you back pressed into his muscular arms as he cradles you as tears continued to spill.
He can't find it in himself to feel sorry as he cradles you against him.
Feeling your warmth and body good as he hoped it would feel.
He pressed a kiss to your head as he stared out the tiny window thag faced the ocean , feeling the breeze hit him as he let's you fall asleep.
Looking down at your tear strikes face he promises himself to keep you with him forever
"I love you y/n."

He respects Whitebeard a lot.
The man still did a shit job preparing his kids for his death.
Seas and Storms, Captain managed to do a better job preparing them for his execution.
But with Whitebeard’s lack of future planning, no one knew who’d remain in control of things. He’d heard rumors Big Mom had already over Fishman Island’s ‘protection’. They simply couldn’t wait for things to play out, not with how much in danger they were without protection from the World Government or the Celestial Dragons, even though they were a World Government nation. So far though the majority of Whitebeard’s territory was up in the air still.
Instead it was a fight between Phoenix and Blackbeard, and sadly he wasn’t willing to bet on Phoenix. He definitely liked Phoenix dramatically more than Blackbeard, but he also knew Phoenix had never been trained to be a captain.
He suspects Whitebeard had assumed Portgas would be his successor. After all, Portgas was the only present Division Commander who’d led his own crew prior to recruitment. Most of the others had either joined up by themselves, been absorbed by Whitebeard and never made Division Commander, or seceded back into being their own crew again under Whitebeard’s protection. He’s pretty sure Portgas had been the only exception these days. Whitebeard had probably decided once Portgas had been recruited to leave everything on the kid’s shoulders without letting him know.
After all, if Portgas had known, would he have gone hunting for Teach? Or would he have stayed on the Moby, ordering others to hunt for their fake brother?
Whitebeard’s health had pretty clearly been starting to fail at least five years earlier, and the way he’d been hooked up at Marineford…the man had clearly wanted to go out like Captain had. A last blaze of glory, rather than a quiet death in bed.

HI I WAS JUST WONDERING HOW LUFFY MET EVERYONE IN THE MERMAID AU
omgg it's pretty funny really! So you should know in this au is kind of set in a modern-ish au, Sea creatures are pretty normal in this world but they're treated differently, because y'know sea and water... Anyways heres the ones I thought out so far: Ace, Sabo and Luffy: So first off! Sabo is a brooding parasite, so he was dropped by the reef Ace was born in!! The two managed to hit off the moment they opened their eyes and considered each other as brothers. Luffy on the other hand was a late hatchling from his mother's clutter of eggs, so he was left alone to be free food for anyone who came by, but fortunately for him Ace and Sabo took pity on him and just considered him as their own (This is the reason why the three of them are different types of merfolk!) Shanks - So It started with young Ace, Sabo, and Luffy being hungry and because they're carnivorous they thought Shanks would be an easy meal, so they sent Sabo to lure in Shanks so they can maul him in the water!! But unfortunately for them Shanks is surprising adept at handling all kinds of mermaids (ESPECIALLY children/guppies) 😔 Coby - Coby was only fishing this time and by mere coincidence he fished up Luffy! He was quite shocked and scared because he accidentally hooked Luffy by his mouth and apologized before letting him free, but Luffy hitched a ride on his boat for awhile (much to Coby's reluctance) Zoro - Zoro is a merfolk being held at a beach that Coby n' Luffy managed to sail to. Zoro wasn't really bothered, mostly annoyed at the fact that he was put on display as a tourist attraction by beach officials and kept in a just a decently sized tank with not much stuff to do. Luffy saw this and broke him out because the tank seemed pretty terrible to stay in. Usopp - in this au Usopp is a mer! but an octopus like merfolk, he's pretty poisonous.. But unluckily for him Luffy is immune to most poisons in the ocean so Luffy tried to chase and eat him before hitting it off with him because Luffy knew Yassop (Usopp and Yassop surprisingly has a pretty decent relationship in this au because Yassop visits him and his mother from time to time!) Law - For some reason I thought about him and his crew being marine biologists and for some funny reason, Luffy swims by them during their scuba diving expeditions and just gets a headache because Luffy and his pod keeps messing around with their job XP
Tumblr media
I'll answer this here too! When Ace, Sabo, and Luffy decided to split up and go on their seperate ways, Ace traveled through the oceans and spotted a ship! He thought it was one of those ships that kept merfolk captive because of its sheer size and many people, so he tried to beat them up Ace doesn't really have much of a good experience with humans except for Shanks and his team because while growing up the coral reef him and his brothers lived in was accidentally got bombed by fishermen using unethical fishing methods :( So when Ace saw the net behind Whitebeard's boat he was quite angry because it might accidentally go through a coral reef and break fishes' habitats. But when he did try to assassinate the Whitebeards, they seem to brush Ace off easily making him pretty mad. But then Ace finds out the Whitebeards actually clean up oceans and seas he starts to feel embarrassed and ashamed because he was accusing them of bad stuff and even cussed them out. But he did eventually manage to apologize and warm up to them!! The Whitebeards have a few merfolks on board! They're not held captive or anything they just stay around there and hang out, sometimes helping the team do research about other fish species and try to keep the ocean clean as possible

The strawhats dont know that Jimbe shares the other half of Luffys scar.
Word Count: 2,239
The Straw Hats hadn’t expected it, even as they traced inked lines on newspapers, old and faded with time, watched the news and clips of Marineford, brought by an old enemy’s hands.
They knew their captain would be scarred – saw it in the newspaper, the way his face broke with his brother’s body in his arms, saw it in bloody bandages inked with 3D2Y.
They just –
They didn’t know it would be like this.
Luffy’s scar is a red thing, a bloody thing. It’s roughly healed, clearly gone without proper care beyond the initial wrap, and it lays directly over their captain’s chest. An X, cruel and digging into his skin.
(Legends state that Joyboy, the first adventurer, carved an X on to Raftel. That the poneglyphs are his signature, the X that marks all treasure.
Below this X lies their captain’s heart, burned and flayed by the first of a dog.
It is a treasure that should have never been marked.)
He wears it openly, proudly, as if this X was not in the same place of the wound that killed his brother, as if his hand did not reach up to scratch at it, rest on it, hold it when he stared at the horizon. They have had a day to get used to but still –
Still it is a shock, fresh and unwanted.
(Scars have meaning, and scars have purpose. Zoro has two on his ankles and one on his front, two earned in learning, and one in battle. Another is on his eye, a price paid for being a student who aims to take down his teacher. Nami has scars, covered by blue ink, scars that freed her, scars that saved her. Usopp has nicks on his hand, scars in odd places from trying to repair a dying ship, from fighting his captain.
Lessons learned, purposed gained, willingly, voluntarily.
Luffy’s is nothing like that. )
It stares at them, taunts them, bright and red, a reminder that they weren’t there when Luffy was always there for all of them, wasn’t there when he needed them most, as much as it is a reminder of how Luffy’s brother died in his arms, in a war that should have never been.
(Luffy has scars – he heals fast, but not enough to cover burns from molten gold or holes from warlord’s hooks. But nothing is as vibrant as this one.)
But –
Luffy is here.
Luffy is happy. He smiles, bright and fearless, even if there are new shadows in his eyes and more quiet moments then there used to be. He is still just as strong, stronger even, if more protective of his crew. He’s Luffy – their captain, and their future king.
They weren’t there for him, and he doesn’t care if they weren’t because he’s glad they’re safe but –
Jimbe! Luff cries with joy, when they set a course for fishman island, He saved me!
Someone was.
-
Fishman island is a bright, happy place. The sun shines even here, and now, with Hordy and Vander Decken gone, the people shine as well. Joyful, smiling faces against scales and skin, teeth sharp or smooth, are all directed to their princess – now revealed to them – and to the pirates that saved them. There’s cruelty in corners, but not here.
Not now.
(Children run along the sea floor in Straw Hats, calling out attack names and harboring no prejudice.
Later, years later, there will be legends about a man in a straw hat, and joy written on all their faces – cruelty nowhere to be found. A beginning is here – one of hope.)
Not with Luffy lying on Jimbe’s side, bandaged and with his crew surrounding him. The party thrown by King Neptune echoes dimly in the background, melding gently with the chattering of his crew around him. Zoro sleeping on the ground by Luffy, Chopper atop of him, Usopp and Sanji murmuring together as they eat, the rest of the crew standing around, gazing at their captain who has given so much for them – who has just returned to them.
(They move in groups, now, and when Luffy left the party to talk to Jimbe the rest of them followed. It’s been far too long since they’ve been together and they are reluctant to part from each other.
Never again, they whisper, never again.)
Jimbe is new to them but not, there when they weren’t. He’s comfortable with Luffy, even if he is surprised when Luffy slumps against his side, curling under his arm to sleep away his injuries. There’s a terrible sort of fondness on his face as he looks at their Captain, one they all know is reflected on their own faces.
Luffy – he saves people. More than just in body, but in spirit, taking their dreams and shouldering them on his own until they are strong enough to carry themselves. Selfishly selfless, forcing people to rise and chase what every pirate holds dear.
A dream.
Jimbe hasn’t said his yet, but he’ll get there if Luffy has to drag him there kicking and screaming like he’s done the rest of them.
Though… his eyes hold nothing but devotion as he stares at the Straw Hat’s captain, so it’s more than likely he’ll just follow Luffy.
All the way to Raftel.
Luffy utters a quiet snore, burrowing close into Jimbe, bandages falling and revealing a reddened scar, and suddenly the Straw Hats find themselves with a purpose here.
But like in all things, Luffy is the one to make the first move. The way he has tugged on Jimbe’s kimono, has pulled it to the side, displaying the tattoo of the Sun Pirates, red and vibrant and –
A mass of scar tissue, burned and dark against blue scales, in the same shape as their captain’s.
It’s like the world goes quiet as Jimbe readjusts.
Like another weight has been added to the shoulders of those who love Straw Hat Luffy but weren’t there when he needed them most. Like chains, like nails down the throat, a horrible, awful realization that at Marineford, it hadn’t just been Ace who took a hit for their captain.
Jimbe had too.
He doesn’t talk about it, doesn’t seem to notice the way every Straw Hat has paled or gone wide eyed or slacked jawed (for those without visible skin or eyes.) He just quietly adjusts Luffy, hand ghosting over the scar on his chest, and settles back down.
Nami swallows, throat sick. “Jimbe?” She asks, knowing that he’ll answer her if no one else. “You were at Marineford, right?”
(Even in his sleep, slumbering away, Luffy winces at the name.)
Jimbe is quiet for a beat, then – “Aye. And Impel Down.”
“And afterwards,” Robin says smoothly, eyes bright with the knowledge of a historian who scoured every source for information about her captain.
Jimbe nods. “And afterwards, until Rayleigh took over.”
Everything. He was here for everything.
“Then...” Nami swallows and blinks back her tears. “You were with Luffy when A-“ His name feels forbidden. Taboo. “When his brother died.”
“Aye.” Jimbe’s words are soft as he lays a hand on Luffy’s shoulder, gently calming him from the twist his face takes, even asleep. “I was.”
Nami wants to ask what happens. She wants to know, wants to hold her captain, wants to say It’s okay, wants to know what hurt him so he will never hurt again, and Jimbe can give her these answers but –
The past doesn’t matter aboard their ship of dreams. Luffy had not listened to her story, not until she wanted to tell him herself. He had freed her from her chains, took her by the hand and led her to the horizon that she could map all her own.
Her throat closes up when she thinks about trying to learn his hurts, when he knew not to bother her own.
She can’t do that.
She can’t.
Instead, she lets her lips remain loyally closed as she watches the way Jimbe cradles their captain, as if he was the most precious thing he could think of.
(And really this man – who had conquered gods and armies and kings, yet still smiled so gently at his nakama and the sea breeze – he is.)
But Jimbe speaks anyway, and it’s not a betrayal of loyalty because he was there, when none of them were.
“I knew Ace, before Marineford.” They all hide flinches at the name. Jimbe gives them a somber gaze, and moves on. “We battled, before he joined Whitebeard’s crew and afterwards were friends. I refused to fight in Marineford for his sake, and was instead bound in Impel down, in the same cell as him. There… he told me about his little brother.” His gaze, impossibly, turns even softer. “He would just chatter on… smiling, in the face of death, as he told me about how reckless this boy was. How foolish. How loyal.” He tilts his head back up to the sky then. “He asked me to take care of his little brother.”
Nami’s heart stops. Usopp gasps. Sanji drops his plate. Chopper starts crying. Zoro’s eyes flash open for the first time.
(Under the hot sun of Alabasta, on a ship aboard a river, a man with freckles and a smile had asked, A little brother like that makes a big brother worry - Take care of him for me, okay?
They failed.)
“I failed,” Jimbe says, simply, but his words are draped in pain and agony, as his hand rises to his chest again, in a similar motion to what their captain has done, several times since they have reunited. “And that can never be forgiven.”
“But you were there,” Robin says, just as simple, her voice cracking. “And you saved our captain – didn’t you?”
Jimbe’s hand loosens its hold. “Ace had just died. We were running from Akainu and… I was holding Luffy. My own body was not enough to shield him – I failed-“
“Stop.” Zoro’s words silence the room, accept for Luffy, snoring gently into Jimbe’s side. “You were there, Jimbe.” He gets on to his knees, sword laying across his slap as Chopper is pushed to the side. “We were not. Thank you, for saving him.”
And then – Zoro, future world’s greatest swordsman, the pirate hunter, the demon – he bows, low to the ground, in a gesture of thanks.
It is brief, and quick, but Nami follows instantly, folding over in thanks as the rest of the crew does the same.
This is their crewmate – their future crewmate, from what he told Luffy – who was there when they were not, and took a blow for Luffy straight through his chest that would have otherwise been fatal.
Without Jimbe, their captain would not have had a chance to live.
What is a moment, bowed over, to something as insurmountable as that?
“I – please, do not bow to me!” Jimbe rushes to say, stuttering, eyes wide when Nami looks out. One hand is held out while the other, always protective, lays around Luffy’s shoulder. “It was my duty to do so, my responsibility, same as any of you. Luffy – he’s the man who will become King of the Pirates. To follow him is enough thanks.” His words ring loud. Ring true.
This is the man Luffy wanted on his crew for two years.
Nami can see why.
His faith – the faith that moves seas, moves mountains, changes the world, the faith in one straw hatted man – that’s the faith of all her crew,
She wasn’t sure about Jimbe.
(He had been the cause of so much of her pain – but he didn’t choose to hurt her. He would never, now.)
She is now.
Zoro, ever the leader, ever the loyal first mate, looks up and settles back down. It reminds Nami so much of Water 7, except here their entire crew is present, and here, they will not be fractured ever again.
(She will make sure that happens – by any means necessary.)
“It is our responsibility.” Zoro acknowledges. “We grew stronger over these past few years, on our captain’s orders – did you?”
His single eye pierces Jimbe, and Nami can see him swallow. But he stares back, unafraid, a true helmsman always following the course.
“Aye,” Jimbe says, and the tension is shattered by Luffy turning entirely over in his sleep, shirt shifting to display his scar, but his face entirely peaceful.
They ease back into their conversations, debts settled, crewmates thanked and now equals. It’ll be a few minutes before Luffy is up, running for adventure with them following on his heels but for now –
Now, the savior of their captains rests easy with Luffy by his side, and everything is okay.
(Later, months later, after Wano and after Whole Cake and after Emperors, Nami will see Luffy sit up at night as they all camp out in the aquarium. He will clutch his chest, and curl in on himself, deadly quiet and pale. His fingers will dig in, and dig in, and dig in, and all Nami will do is watch until –
Jimbe sits up and catches Luffy’s hand in his own, his other mirroring Luffy’s position and clutching at his own scar. He will say breathe, and Luffy will breathe, and –
Their captain will be strong, surrounded by those who were not there, and smiling, if dimly, at the one who was.
And, for once, matching scars won’t hurt as bad.)

Can you please do one with Rodger knowing about ace's execution and maybe ace being saved by luffy and reacting idk alive or dead. This doesn't even makes sense but anything like this will work.
Y’know, it’s not really what you’re looking for, but I figured an answer to this ask was better than no answer at all. Between rewriting an old Ace time-travel fic of mine, I’ve been working on a new Ace time-travel fic with...different goals. If you don’t mind, I’ll be using your ask an excuse to post about it.
So if any of y’all out there have facts about Roger and/or his crew (I’ll take headcanons too), send them my way! I could use some inspiration. Read on if you want a taste of what I’ve been up to with all of this.
“This will be my final order as your captain!”
Ace slowed to a stop. Final?
“It’s time for us to part ways! You must all survive and return to the new world!”
Someone was yelling, begging Whitebeard to say he wasn’t planning on dying here, but it was plain on the old man’s face: he was making himself the last sacrifice.
“I’m a relic of a bygone era!” Whitebeard declared, silencing the complaints. “No ship can carry me into the new age! Get away from here, my sons!”
His next quake rocked Marineford, nearly throwing Ace off his feet. Luffy was still tugging him along towards the ships, but Ace couldn’t tear his eyes from his father.
“Pops!” One last word. One last look. One last something.
Whitebeard grinned in the face of the entire navy bearing down on him. “It’s been a long journey. Let’s finish this once and for all!”
All of Marineford was crumbling, the massive structures little more than paper in the face of Whitebeard’s power. The ground rumbled like the sea in a storm, but through all of it, Whitebeard was an unshakeable pillar of destruction.
Haruta broke rank. “We can’t leave you behind, Pops!”
Whitebeard’s response was swift and catastrophic, stopping Haruta in his tracks. “Can’t you follow your captain’s orders?” he roared. “Get away from here, you lousy brats!”
The tide of pirates began to retreat. It pulled at Ace, but he remained rooted to the spot, that pounding need for just one more look crystallizing into its true shape. He broke from Luffy’s grip and took one step towards his father. His only father.
“Ace!” Luffy cried. “We gotta go!” And then, words that cut like knives: “Don’t let the old man’s sacrifice go to waste!”
That was exactly the problem. Ace glanced back at his brother. “Don’t worry, I won’t.” He turned back to the horde of marines closing in on Whitebeard, the heat of his own flames swirling around his fist. It would have to be enough.
“Out of the way!” His hiken tore through their ranks like a torrent. As the flames died down, so did he, dropping to his knees and bowing his forehead nearly to the ground. Tears built in his eyes and he squeezed them shut.
Somehow, impossibly, Whitebeard’s words carried across the distance between them. “I have little use for soft words…but tell me one thing, Ace.” The tears threatened to break through. “Was I good father?”
The damn broke. “Of course!” he cried, his whole body shaking as his voice cracked.
Whitebeard just laughed. Ace, bowing even lower, swallowed and climbed back to his feet, finally heeding Jinbe’s order to get to the front, only for a new voice to cut through all the noise.
“You free Ace and then turn tail and run, huh? The Whitebeard Pirates are a pack of cowards.” Time slowed. “But considering who your leader is, that’s no surprise! After all, Whitebeard is nothing but a loser from a bygone era!”
And suddenly, he wasn’t heeding Jinbe at all. Rage flared high in his chest and his tears burned up. He turned to face the admiral—
But Akainu wasn’t there. Uncomprehending, Ace stared at the tropical forest where Marineford had been. Five distant peaks stretched into the sky like fingers, but there were no buildings, no fortifications. Instead of walls bearing down, palm fronds rustled in the calm breeze while waves gently rolled onto shore behind him.
Even the air had changed. There was no smoke, no gunpowder, only salt. The fallen marines and pirates were gone. He turned around again, but Luffy and all of his crewmates were gone too. No ships sat on the glimmering waves. No ice held fast the sea.
“P-Pops?” His voice sounded strange to his ears. The breeze came again. A coconut broke free and tumbled the long way to the ground, only for it to get stuck in the sand. “Luffy?”
Another spin didn’t change anything. There was no one around. The sun wasn’t even in the right place. It hung high in the sky, dead at its zenith.
His balance rocked and he sank to his knees. Was this a joke? A Devil Fruit? He brought his arms up to hug himself, only to notice something odd about his left. There was no ink in his skin; his ASCE tattoo had disappeared. Yanking off the tank top that had materialized on his torso and tossing it aside, he craned his neck, fingers pulling on his skin to bring more of it into view, but no matter how he looked—over his left shoulder, over his right shoulder, around his sides—his Whitebeard tattoo was nowhere in sight. It was like it had never been there at all. Even his necklace was gone.
He held out his shaking hands, only then realizing just how small they were. His gaze drifted back to the trees. Were they really that big, or was he…
He was. Shaking harder, he tried to summon some fire, any fire, but nothing happened. There was no response at all. When he dug his nails into his palms, though he could feel it just fine. He could feel everything—the breeze tousling his hair, the sand shifting under his feet, the sun warming his skin. The odds that this was a dream or a nightmare were dwindling with every second that Ace spent hoping this wasn’t real.
Something crashed through the underbrush just past the tree line. Ace froze, then scooped up his shirt and gave chase. Branches lashed at his skin, but even though he hadn’t been this small in years, he still remembered all those days crashing around Goa Island. This place didn’t hold a candle to those wild forests.
The shadow darted left. Ace hooked a hand around a tree’s narrow trunk and swung after it, but he overestimated his reach and fell comically short. He tumbled to a stop, backside stinging, pride bruised.
As he raised his eyes from the ground, he met the gaze of a wild boar. It blinked at him, then, with a huff and a snort, turned and walked away.
That was what he’d been chasing? Ace let his head fall and scrubbed a hand through his hair. What was going on?
“And why am I a kid?” he mumbled. Sure enough, his voice came out way higher pitched than he was used to. Letting his hand fall, he tipped onto his back and stared up through the canopy. He hoped Luffy was okay. His sworn family, too. If they’d come all that way to save him only for him to disappear in the middle of it…Well, Pops would probably keep everyone in line. Marco, too.
He squinted as the sun came out from behind a cloud. What did he know? He was a kid again, for some reason. He was on some island he’d never seen before, for some reason. And, of course, he didn’t have his powers anymore, for some reason. The strategy he’d used to escape that island with Deuce wouldn’t fly here.
As the edge of another cloud took the edge off the sun’s glare, Ace’s skyward gaze fell on the mountains punching over the horizon.
Any kind of vantage point was better than nothing, right? At least he could see if there were any other islands nearby. If this was an archipelago, there were probably people on one of them, and where there were people there were ships.
Getting to the mountain was the easy part. As small as he was, and without being able to rocket himself upwards with his devil fruit, he found himself struggling to actually get up the mountain. Strength wasn’t the problem, but something as simple as a handhold being a couple feet out of reach was enough to stymie him until he found another way up.
By the time he got to the top, he was sweaty, dirty, and tired. He’d scraped his knees and bloodied his fingers before he’d realized that he could still use haki to protect himself from the damage he’d been able to ignore as a logia user.
He sat down hard, drawing in deep breaths. That had unequivocally sucked, but at least he was at the top now. He’d picked the shortest and closest mountain, figuring that anything out of sight from its peak would be out of his reach anyway. Once he had his breath back, he pushed himself to his feet and peered out over the ocean. The wind was much harsher up here, and he had to use a hand to shade his eyes from the sun. The light bouncing off the cresting waves was still bright enough to hurt.
No matter how long he looked, he only saw those waves. It was ocean as far as the eye could see. No other islands, no chain, and no people. Even though he’d kind of expected it, frustration still curled his lips into a frustrated scowl.
What was the point? Why was he here?
Releasing his irritation in a huff, he turned to start the long climb down. It would probably be easier than coming up, since he could use his haki to absorb some of the longer drops from ledge to ledge.
A blurry smudge near the horizon gave him pause. He stopped and peered out at it. Was it a cloud? No, it was getting closer. It was on the water.
His heart lifted. It was a ship.
He threw caution to the wind as he scrambled down the mountainside. His rushed haki didn’t save him from everything, but the adrenaline pumping through his veins numbed the pain. He landed hard on the forest floor, rolled to his feet, and then tore through the trees. He needed to give that ship a reason to stop at this island in case it was just sailing by. A kid waving from the beach would catch anyone’s eye, right?
Panting, bruised, and bleeding, he broke through the tree line, stumbled on the sand, and limped up to the water’s edge.
“Hey,” he croaked at the approaching ship. “Hey!”
He drew breath to yell a third time, but as he did, the wind changed. The ship’s crimson sails filled out, its flags snapped out horizontal, and Ace got a good look at the symbol emblazoned upon them all. His voice died.
A mustached skull and crossbones.
The Roger Pirates.

Second Chance ch.8
Tumblr media
Running towards the hidden entrance to the town behind the waterfall he held y/n tightly to his chest. Looking to the homes he saw all the lights off and knew most were probably sleeping. Refusing to stop he ran as fast as he could to where his home was. Coming up on the hill he saw another smaller home built not too far from it. Using his haki he felt a bit of relief come over him at the familiar presence. "MARCO!" Getting to the door he saw it was small, about half his height, he was back to his old size. "MARCO!" he called again. Seeing a light turn on from inside the window he breathed heavily. As soon as the door opened he looked down to see his son rubbing his eye.
"What the hell is..." Marco asked in a sleepy voice, dropping his hand and looking out his door. Seeing nothing but legs he craned his neck to gaze up at the tall man. Knitting his brows and blinking a few times he snapped his eyes around. Long blond hair, same warm yellow eyes, huge as hell but younger? Way younger. "H..how... I...I don't.... Pops?"
"I don't have time to explain now son. I need your help. I need you to help her." Seeing his son still frozen he grit his teeth. "Marco now!" he yelled and saw the man snap out of it.
"Right. Okay." he said firmly more to himself than the man who resembled his late father. "Go take her to your home and I'll grab my things."
"Marco honey? What is it?" a feminine voice said from behind him.
Glancing behind his son he saw a woman standing there, wearing nothing but a nightgown. While he was intrigued about who this young woman was he didn't have time right now. Hurrying over to his home he was happy to find his door unlocked, the large wooden door slamming back against the wall as he pushed his way inside. Turning on the lights he moved to his own bedroom and placed her down on the dusty bed. Standing back up to look down at her he took in her size compared to the large bed and knit his brows. Hearing feet running towards them he saw Marco come up beside him and start looking y/n over. When he pulled back the coat and her ripped shirt he saw the bleeding gunshot wound on the right side of her chest, just over her breast and swallowed hard.
"I need to get her shirt off so I can see if the bullet went the whole way through." Pulling out a knife he started cutting away the blood soaked shirt.
Helping sit her up and pull off her coat and shirt he tossed them to the side to be taken care of later. Seeing no wound on her back he knew the bullet was still in her. Laying her back down gently he watched as Marco checked her pulse and heartbeat.
"Her heartbeat is faint. She needs a blood transfusion or she'll be dead in minutes." the doctor said and saw as the large man moved to sit on the floor by the bed table, holding out his arm. "You don't know if ..."
"I do. I am."
Nodding he quickly grabbed the things he needed and stepped in front of his father. Finding a vein quickly he shoved the needle in. As soon as the red liquid of life started filling the bottle he stepped back over to the woman on the bed to get her hooked up as well.
Sitting back against the wall he watched quietly as Marco worked on saving his lass's life. The woman from before had come over soon after he hooked Y/n up to an IV and she gave him a look before moving beside Marco and speaking to him. He heard her weak whimpers and cries as the doctor started digging for the bullet still lodged in her chest and it sent a sharp pain through his chest. The woman who he had overheard Marco call Zella helped in holding y/n down for the painful procedure. Once it was out he saw the bright blue flames come from his hand that pressed over Y/n's wound.
Healing her as much as he could with his powers he grabbed his supplies to start stitching the wound close. Wrapping the wound in bandages he looked over her other injuries to start on them.
After a good two hours he heard Marco let out a sigh and step away from the bed to turn to him. "She should be just fine." he told the younger version of his pops. Looking behind him he rose his chin. "Zel, go get some stuff an clean her up will ya?"
Seeing the woman nod and make her way out of the room he looked back to see Marco looking at him with lowered brows.
"How? I don't understand how you are here. You died, Ace died, we buried you both..."
"It's complicated..."
"I don't care tell me. Tell me how you just show up here, alive and young after almost two damn years."
"Two years?" he repeated, his face falling and his eyes going a bit wide. Seeing Marco's face serious he took a deep breath and tried to take it all in. He had only been in Y/n's world for almost two months but it had been near two years here? Looking back up to Marco he saw the woman return with her arms full of different things. Noticing the bathing supplies and such he stood and walked over to his dresser. Taking out one of his few shirts he held it out for the woman to take. "It'll be big on her but it will work for now." he said and saw her nod, a kind smile on her face. Glancing back to y/n one last time he swallowed hard and walked out, hearing Marco follow behind him.
....................................
All the while Zella who he learned was his son's wife, cleaned y/n he had told Marco everything as Marco took care of the stab wound on his forearm that he had forgotten about. He told him how he had washed up on the shore of the lake and how y/n had found him. He told him how when he had woken up he was somehow young again. Telling him about y/n and her world Marco stayed quiet through it all, ever the clam and collected one. Refusing to hold anything back from him he also spoke to him about the strong connection the two had towards each other. Lastly he spoke to him about the events that had just occurred before the two of them had been sent back here.
"She is your soulmate then?"
Humming he grinned. "Yes."
"Does she know that?"
Taking a deep breath he let it out in a long sigh, "No. I don't believe they are a thing in her world."
Nodding Marco looked to where Whitebeard's bedroom was, thinking about the woman who had all in all saved her father's life. "So what is she like, Y/n?" he asked and couldn't help but grin when he saw the way his father smiled.
"Oh she is kind, so very kind and quiet. She's a hardworking woman but she never complains. She also has a temper as well though." he said with a chuckle at the end but then felt his smile fall away some. "But... she's been hurt before. I don't exactly know how, she hasn't opened up to me yet and I haven't pushed her on it." huffing a bit he looked to the blond and smiled, "You'll like her though, she's been making me take vitamins and eat more healthy."
"She's a keeper."
Laughing he smiled and leaned back into the chiar. "Now, tell me, what's happened since I died."
Rubbing the back of his neck he looked into the large yellow eyes and started relaying the events from the last 19 months. He told him about how the crew and some others, along with Shanks buried both him and Ace. Then he told him about the payback war they had had with Blackbeard and his crew. Admitting the defeat he grit his teeth. and bounced his knee. "We all disbanded after that. With Teach and his crew, then the World Government after us I thought it would be best if we went our own ways.... I didn't want to do it but..."
Sighing he crossed his arms over his chest and shook his head. "It's alright son, I understand. You did the right thing."
"It get's worse." Seeing his father look back to him he blinked slowly, "Because of Teach beating us the World Government named him the new Emperor."
"What?"
Nodding Marco saw the man's massive muscles flex.
"What about Ace's brother, that strawhat runt?"
"Luffy. I don't know, no one has heard anything from him since a about a week after the war. He showed up at Marineford again with both Jinbe and Rayleigh..."
"Rayleigh?"
"Yep. Luffy didn't attack anyone or start any trouble. All he did was go up and ring the OX bell before taking off his hat. There were many pictures taken of him, it was put on the front page. After that he left and no one has seen him or any of his crew since."
Humming he lowered his brow in thought. He didn't think the boy was giving up, not from all the stories Ace had told him. Before anything else could be said he heard the door open and looked towards his bedroom to see Zella walking out with a y/n's clothes in her arms.
"I cleaned her up as best I could. There was a place on the back of her head that i don't think you saw but I cleaned it and bandaged it as well." Zella told her husband who nodded.
"I'm going to go take a look at it real quick."
Watching his son walk out of the room he looked to the young woman and saw her smile at him. "Well hello my dear. I hear you are my son's wife."
Nodding Zella looked to the large man. "Yes. It's so nice to be able to meet you, Marco has told me all about you. I don't understand exactly how you are here but I am happy nonetheless. Marco and the rest of your children missed you dearly."
Grinning he hummed. "I missed them as well. I do hope you are taking good care of my boy... not making it too easy for him though right?" he asked and heard her chuckle lightly.
"Not at all."  she assured him. Remembering something she held out the items she had found in the woman's clothing. "Here you go, I found these in her clothes, I don't think they would do well in the wash."
Taking the items Zella handed over he saw y/n's phone, notebook and a few other items.
"Of course. I am going to wash her pants and other clothes but I am afraid her shirt is past the point of repair."
"Thank you dear." Seeing her nod as Marco walked back out he looked to him.
"Yea that's a nice sized bump on her head, it's got a small gash as well but not enough for stitches. She may have a slight concussion and her head will probably ach for a few days once she wakes. Nothing some herbal tea won't help though. Still once she wakes she will need to take it easy, she did lose a lot of blood."
Nodding he stood and saw Marco cover a yawn. "You both should get back to bed."
"Sounds good. If you need me you know where to find me. I'll be back over to check on her in the morning." he told him and saw him nod. Looking up to his father he smiled "Goodnight pops."
Grinning he kneeled down to hug his son, "Goodnight my son." Watching them both leave he set the items down on the table and moved towards his bedroom. The light was off but with the light from the living room he could still see fairly well. Walking over to the bed he looked down at her and saw wrapped up under the covers. She had bandages on her cheek and wrapped around her head, he could also make out the light bruise on her lip and jaw. Her skin was still flushed but not as much as it was. Dropping his eyes to her chest he could only see so much with the blankets pulled up to just under her shoulders but he knew she was wearing his shirt. The white fabric looked more like a sheet on her than anything with the first few buttons undone and some of the bandages peeking out. The slowly rise and fall of her chest told him she was sleeping soundly and he let out a sigh of relief. If Marco hadn't been here then there was no doubt in his mind that she wouldn't have made it, the very thought making his heart clench. Threading his fingers through her hair he heard a small groan and noticed her lashes fluttering a bit, her brows knitting together in discomfort. Crouching down beside the bed he continued stroking her hair and then her unmarked cheek with his thumb. "Yer alright lass, go back to sleep darling."
Hearing the deep, comforting voice you relaxed and did as it commanded.
Seeing her drift back off he grinned. Standing back up he tugged the covers up over her a bit more before going back out to the living room. Looking towards the couch he gave a sigh and rubbed the back of his head. While there was plenty of room for both of them on his bed he didn't want to risk making her uncomfortable or worse hurting her. So couch it was. Turning off the light he walked over to the old sofa and layed down on it, his feet hanging off the side.
.................................
Groaning giving a whimper when your whole body seemed to ache you slowly lifted your hand to your face to rub your eyes. Feeling a bandage and then another one you knit your brows and then started attempting to open your eyes. At first they instantly closed from the bright light but after a little bit you managed to get them open and take a glance around the room you were in. First thing you noticed was the ceiling, it was wooden with large beams running along it. Turning your head to the walls you saw them to be made of what looked like plaster, the trim and door made of the same wood as the beams along with the floor. The room itself was of nice size with a dresser, side table and the huge bed you were laying in. It had to be a California king with white sheets and deep blue bedding. Seeing a window on the far wall with white curtains you tilted your head a bit at the view outside. From where you laid you could see what looked like bright green grass and a large mountain in the far landscape, a clear blue sky above. Just where the hell were you?
Thinking back to the last thing you remembered you recalled the incident at the bar, those men, they had robbed the place and then you had taken off after the man. The two of you were fighting and then he... he tried to... he was going to rape you but he hadn't. Edward had shown up, he had saved you. Then him and the man had fought and the guy had pulled a gun. He was going to shoot Edward so you jumped in the way. Glancing down to your chest you pulled the large shirt... gown, whatever it was away some and saw bandages there. You had been shot. Your memory went a bit fuzzy after that. You could remember Edward yelling, the other man screaming and then the ground shook but then Ed was there. He was holding you and he was so warm, you could hear his heartbeat and then nothing.
Letting out a long breath you laid your head back on the pillow and thought. Had you been taken to some hospital? You had never heard of any hospitals that looked like this. Blinking you decide to go find out what was going on. Trying to sit up you bit your lip to muffle your cry as every injury on your body seemed the throb. Sitting up on the bed you were overcome with a coughing fit and covered your mouth with one elbow while the other hand moved to clutch your chest. Whimpering when your head felt like it was going to split into you closed your eyes tight, your face scrunching up in pain. Once you had gotten a bit used to the pain you opened your eyes and looked around the room again. Dropping your eyes to your own body you knit your brows and lifted the large shirt hanging on your body. It was way too big but it didn't look like a gown and... sniffing it you leaned back some, you knew that scent. Was he here, was he okay? Going to stand up from the bed you heard one of the two doors open and froze. Looking up you saw a man come walking into the room but there was something off about him. Why was he so small? He had blond hair on the top of his head and when he looked up to you, you saw he had glasses on as well. Was he a dwarf?
"Oh. We weren't expecting you to be up so soon." Marco said to the woman with a smile. Walking over to her he looked up to her, "Pops will be happy. I'm Marco by the way."
Marco, Edward's son? How was he here? Had he somehow been teleported to your world too? Licking your dry lips you looked down to the man. "Hello. I'm y...y/n." you told him, your voice cracking a bit.
"Yes I know, the big man has been talking about you nonstop all day." he chuckled.
"Edward is here?"
"Yea, well not here, he went to grab a few things from town but he should be back soon. In the meantime though I'd like to check over your injuries." Stepping forward some he saw her a tad bit uncomfortable and grinned softly. "It's okay, I'm a doctor."
Nodding you tried to relax some "I know Ed talks about you a lot as well."
"Hopefully good things." he smiled.
Sitting still as Marco did his exam you listened to him tell you the extent of all your injuries and that you would have to take it easy for the next week. Rubbing your face you sighed, "I have to call work and tell them..."
Rubbing the back of his neck he looked off to the side, "Ah yea well about that..." He didn't get to finish his sentence as he heard a door shut and then the footsteps coming towards the room.
Seeing him look towards the door you followed his eyes as it opened, standing in the frame was him, "Edward?"
Looking over to the bed his face split into a large smile when he saw his lass awake and sitting up. "Y/n darling you're awake."
"Yep, doing good too. She should be able to get up and move about a bit but nothing too exerting." Marco told them.
"I'll make sure of it." Grinning and giving a nod he saw Marco look to the flowers in his hand and raise his brows.
"Well I am going to head out. I'll get Zel to bring over your clothes."
"Thank you." you told the small man and saw him nod as he turned to walk by Edward, only coming up to the man's knee. Hearing another door shut you looked back to Ed and saw him move towards you.
Holding out the bouquet of white flowers he smiled and rubbed the back of his neck. "Here ya go lass."
Looking down at the daffodils you felt a warmth in your chest that flowed up to your cheeks. Smiling softly you reached out to take them from him. "Thank you Ed." Observing the beautiful flowers you smiled, there was even a purple ribbon tied around them and already you could smell their pleasant scent. Raising your eyes back to him you saw him only looking down at you with a soft smile.
Moving to sit on the bed beside her he took a deep breath, "You know you had me scared there for a moment darling. I didn't know if you were going to make it." he said, looking down and feeling his lip twitch. Looking up to meet her eyes he glanced to the bruises and cuts on her face. "You took a bullet for me and while I am grateful I don't ever want you to do something like that again." seeing her brows knit he shook his head when he saw her go to speak. "No. You are never to put yourself in danger like that again. Promise me y/n."
Taking a deep breath you said nothing and saw his brows lower.
"Y/n." he grunted.
"I can't make a promise that I don't know I will be able to keep." you said softly and saw his hand move up to rub his face and pinch the bridge of his nose.
"You have to be the most stubborn women I have ever met." he grumbled.
Giggling a little you grinned and smelled at the flowers. "I'll take it as a compliment." seeing him give you a small glare, making you smile more he shook his head. Looking towards the window again you saw rolling green hills with a few other homes or buildings here and there. This didn't look like anywhere in Montant you had ever seen. Knitting your brows you took another look around the room that now you thought about it looked more like a bedroom. Seeing a white hat sitting on the dresser with yellow trim and what looked like a pirate symbol on the front you also noted the other personal items here and there throughout the room. Before you knew it you heart started beating a little faster. "Umm Ed.... where are we?"

Mister Sun
⤷ ficlet
part 1 |  part 2
Tumblr media
Ace x f!reader; romantic
⤷ synopsis: The only way to calm yourself down was by listening to Mister Sun by Barney. Sounds cute right? Don’t be a clown. This is a n g s t.
⤷ word count: 1,6k
⤷ a/n: aHHHHH heres my comeback from my hiatus 😎hope y’all liked it, i was writing when it was 4 AM and i downtripped to lots of sad songs, remembering how good and youthful life was before I became a boring old hag. das all folks, lemme know what u think as always! (((also im trying this new format just for ficlets/og works teehee)))
----
“Oh mister sun, sun, mister golden sun,” Ace cooed as his rough fingers gently combed through your hair, “please shine down on me.” You shift on his lap, clearly still startled from the nightmare, but unwinding as he continues his humming while swaying lightly.
He was so warm against the cold night.
“You feeling better?” His head lulled a bit to the side, his loud yawn permeating the night air. Guilt bloomed in your chest for waking him up in these delicate hours, but you couldn’t help but need comfort. Your late mother always sang Barney’s song to calm you when you were younger, so naturally it was the only way to unravel your nerves, despite it being a child’s song.
“Thanks for doing this, I know it’s not really your style.” You briefly apologized. He waved it off.
“No biggie, anything for my girl.” He grinned, his toothy smile shining against the moonlit sea. Your giggle follows right after, his smiles always made you feel like everything was gonna be okay.
“Love you babe,” you dreamily sigh, still high off broken sleep.
“I know.”
You nestled your head on the meatiest part of his thigh, and fell asleep. When silence pervaded the air, he pulled you tight to him and closed his eyes. The tranquility of the night made you follow suit a bit after.
All things continued well, you went fishing with Ace the next morning, catching a bigger fish than him and bragging about it to Marco.
“Cheater!” Ace kept chanting as he demanded a rematch. “You just got lucky, lemme show you how it’s really done.” Grumbling, you acquiesced to his ramblings and hooked on bait.
“Ho,ho. You’re going down, lover boy.” You bore your sole into the wood of the deck, readying yourself for battle.
“Ready!” He counted down, “Set! Go!”
Fishing lines cast into the sea, a brief moment passing by before a fish tugs on your line first. Messily reeling it in, your feet trip over themselves, cursing as the rod slipped through your sweaty grip. Meanwhile, Ace grunted as he fought against his big catch before victoriously reeling it in. As much as you hate admitting it, you lost.
“Yeah!!” Ace rejoiced, admiring his fish, “we’re eating good tonight boys! Fire up the grills!” The resounding cheers of the crew followed after.
Moments like these, seeing everyone, especially Marco, merrily hammered with booze and seeing Ace mingling with the crowd, occasionally falling asleep, yet his smile never fading. It was moments like these that you wished never left because eventually everything becomes a distant memory.
As a little girl, you believed nightmares disappear after mom sings you to sleep. As an adult, you realized nightmares are never really gone; instead it slowly builds itself in a steady, continuous stream until it becomes real.
It became hell.
The marines took Ace.
Whitebeard rampaged.
And one thing leads to the other, you find yourself alongside his little brother on the battlefield. Ace looked disparaged sitting atop of the execution platform, protected by the best of the best.
“Ace!” With a determined look raging through his pupils, he grit his teeth and dug his fingernails through the log he was carrying, “We’ll save you! Y/n and I, we’ll save you!” His promise rang throughout the battlefield, commencing the beginning of the end.
The battle ensues, one thing leads to another and Ace is free, running towards freedom.
Until Akainu provokes him.
“Ha, the loser from the dead generation finally met his time.” The magma man inched closer as the flames flickered off of Ace’s body, angry.
“Take that back.” Ace growled, his white-knuckled fist engulfed in his flames.
Akainu snickered. “In other words, he’s an eternal loser who will never surpass Roger. Making all his underlings call him ‘old man’ and ‘father’ or whatever.... he got stabbed because his stupid ‘sons’ believed every word he said.”
“The old man gave us a place where we belong,” Ace lunged forward, fist in front, swallowed with rage, “don’t make fun of the old man who saved my life!”
He dodged gracefully, turning on his heel to jab Ace in the rib. They exchange punches, the belligerent admiral having the upper hand due to Ace’s lagging and recklessness. Akainu’s eyes shifted from the fire fist to the strawhat.
Perfect, he thought, time to end this.
He leaped in the air towards Luffy, the magma on his fist leaving a trail behind him and a smile as wide as ever. He won.
His fist never connected with the strawhat.
It bore a hole through Ace instead.
Even better.
Overwhelming dread filled the battlefield, especially in Luffy’s unwavering faith, because holy shit you’re not supposed to see right through him. “Ace!” Marco called from the other side, soaring to his side while everyone froze in fear as they watched the events unfold. Whitebeard can only watch in lament, knowing that he did all that he could and it still wasn’t enough. Luffy promised to save him, but why does it feel like he’s the one Ace saved?
He was there, within your reach. Why couldn’t you do anything? Why didn’t you do anything?
How could you let him die? Out of all the things you could’ve done for him, you cried.
Pathetic.
He was right there.
You rushed into the rumbling battleground, skidding against the concrete to plant yourself next to him. Luffy’s head whipped to you, holding Ace in his shaking arms. “Y-y/n,” Luffy trembled, and the look in his eyes said it all. He’s dying.
Ace exchanged a few incoherent words with Luffy, so melancholic that he went into shock, mouth agape as his eyes rolled back into his skull.
Swapping places with Luffy, you held Ace’s head on your lap. “Hey, don’t cry,” he brushed the hair clinging to your wet face, “don’t make that face. Doesn’t look like you.” He joked as you pulled him closer to your chest with your foreheads touching and hands shaking as it was on either side of his cheeks, screaming in frustration as tears stained the ground and shamelessly dripped over his face. The warm air contrasted with the coldness of Ace’s body.
“You’re gonna be fine,” your eyes scanned for a doctor, “you’re gonna live, you’ll be fine!” You called out to the nearest medic, asking them to save him.
“I’m sorry ma’am, it’s already too late, not much to do!”
“Bullshit! You’re a fucking doctor right? What kind of a doctor can’t even save a man dying in front of him?”
Scared, the poor doctor frantically skirted away, while Ace stared into your orbs, admiring them one last time. “No need to be upset,” he nuzzled his cheek against your thigh, “he can’t save me. Nobody can. My insides are fried.”
“Don’t talk like that!” If he wasn’t injured, you would’ve slapped the living shit out of him. “You’re not dying. I refuse. Get up.”
“It’s no use.”
You heave up his weight, slinging his arm over your shoulder, only to come crashing back down. The others watched in pity because all you can do was repeatedly punch the ground in dismay like a child throwing a tantrum.
“You can make it!”
“Y/n.”
“Luffy promised we’d save you and I intend to keep my word.”
“Y/n.”
While watching you trying to save him in vain, unconscious tears wet his cheeks as he bit his lip. It broke his soul to know that he has to leave you like this and there’s nothing he can do to help you. He wants to live. For you. But he knows better than to dream, especially in the condition he’s in. He haphazardly tapped your face with the fading strength he had.
“Y/n, calm down. I’ll be fine. Please don’t cry. Listen to me, yeah?”
You nodded, knowing it was a lie, but acquiescing to hear your lover.
“God, I’m so tired Y/n.” He took a shallow breath before continuing, “I wanna sleep but I don’t wanna go.” I don’t want to leave you alone, hangs on his lips.
This was the end of the line. You knew it was. His stagnant breaths told you so.
All of your movements stop, frustration replaced with empty acceptance. Ace can’t remember you like this, you thought, it’d only be harder for him. “Go ahead,” you manage to show him a forced smile, contrasting against your red nose and puffy eyes, telling him it’s okay. It’s okay to go. He was not nearly convinced, but it was getting harder to fight the sleep overwhelming his crisp body.
“Go sleep,” you encouraged once more, “I’ll be here for you, waiting for you.” You choked on the words as his smile relaxed, eyes fluttering shut.
“Love you, y/n.”
“I know.”
“Thank you for loving me.”
Clenching your fists, you bit the insides of your cheeks, hoping to drown out the deafening world. Everyone was screaming, but your heart screamed louder. Don’t go, your heart pleaded, I need you. Please don’t leave me.
But you knew better, Ace would’ve wanted to know that you’d be okay without him. You had to be strong. For him.
This is all that I can do for him.
Before all life left his body, you sang to him one last time, hoping it would provide him as much comfort as it did for you.
“Oh mister sun, sun, mister golden sun. Please shine down on me.”
The wind gushed by, taking his last breath with it. The end of the beginning was concluding, clearing a new path for a new era in its place. The war raged, filled with metal clashing and the wailing of crestfallen loved ones.
His vivre card burned, crumbling into thin air, as if it never existed.
Please wake me up from this nightmare.

@vinsmoke-luffy, thank you very much for the tag 🥰
1. What got you started watching One Piece?
Someone higly raccomended me to read it + this someone had the manga + i had too much free time = now I'm here 😂
2. What got you hooked in One Piece?
At first, things like the "power of friendship" and "spirit of adventure", like always, but slowly I began to realize that One Piece is so much more than that. Slavery, war, eugenics, genocide, oppression, racism, etc, tough issues explained in a way that even a child can easily understand.
Strong words aimed at soft and kind hearts, you know? I love that.
3. In One Piece who did you want to punch in the face so much, and why?
Blackbeard. He put my cinnamon roll Ace in danger, he betrayed his friends, his nakamas, Whitebeard... he is such a really bad guy 😕
4. What One Piece moment will stick with you forever?
THAT moment in Stampede, with Sabo and the "fire-shadow" of Ace right behind Luffy. I cried so hard omg 😂
5. What One piece moment pops up randomly in your head?
Zoro yelling like Tarzan.
6. Who is your favorite One Piece character and why?
Ace and Corazón, because I can relate pretty much with both of them. Ace had a low self-esteem, and he was like "I hate my blood, I hate my father, I hate myself, I'm good at nothing, I don't deserve any kind of love, why the heck I'm even born?", he was just depressed I think, and years ago I thought the same things as him - not the blood-related issues, I love my family.
Also, he was an older brother, I'm an older sister, and my brother is loud, weird, innocent and kind, just like Luffy.
Ace died to save his ototo, and I would die too for the same reason because my little bro is the most beautiful thing that has ever happened to me.
Corazón basically throw years and years of spying - and even his life - in the toilet for the sake of a child, he is kind, goofy, funny, and I like to think of myself in the same way as him, we have similar personalities.
I also love his power, I wish I had it too.
7. Much as One Piece impact on your life?
Pretty much I guess. "Follow your dreams", "believe in yourself", "be kind and help others", "never give up", you know? Also, my bedroom became a sort of "art gallery" (even if I can't draw 😂) full of fanart, and in six days I'll get a One Piece tattoo.
8. What is you favorite One Piece saying?
“Don’t try to find a reason for somebody’s love.” – Sengoku
9. What One Piece laughed get you the most?
I don't watch the anime, so I don't know all the laughs, but thanks to some AMVs I think I can answer Ceasar.
10. How will you feel when One Piece ends?
"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." 😊 but I'll definetly cry 😂
My tags: @letysssssss and @lycanrvc, and @vinsmoke-luffy! I'm curious to read your answers too! 🤩

To Lose you...Ace, Luffy and Sabo
Request: ASL have a baby sister around the age of 10, Ace and Luffy raised her and she joins Luffy and goes with him to Marineford, role reversal and their little sister takes Ace’s place and dies in his place.
Extra Note: Ooh boy...this one really got me...I was crying reading this request because honestly I can’t even imagine their reactions if something like this happened...anyways, proceed with caution...because we have so major feels over here.
A little extra warning: Very graphic blood and gore and graphic descriptions of death...please be advised this doesn’t have a happy ending and this may be triggering for a lot of people. I’m sorry in advance.
Ace
Tumblr media
From the minute Ace set his eyes on you, all those years ago, he knew that he had to protect you.
You were so small...just a little baby when he, Luffy and Sabo found you whilst exploring out in the forest.
They all decided together that you would be their honorary little sister, and grow up alongside them.
They may have needed a little help from Dadan and the Bandits here and there, but they took it upon themselves to work as a team to raise you together.
The first time that they experienced a loss, was when Sabo “died” and that was unbearable, but it was the thought of you that kept Ace and Luffy going.
So the four of you became three, and Ace vowed to never let anyone he cared about get hurt...or even worse die...again.
Ace loved seeing you grow up, watching you become your very own person...brave and determined, you stood up for what you believed in and he felt his heart soar whenever you asked for his help.
Being the eldest brother, Ace took on a lot of responsibilities, most of which he had to leave behind when he left to sail the seas.
Ace had thought the most heartbreaking thing he would ever see in his life was when his beloved little sister stood at the edge of the docks, crying her eyes out as he sailed away.
He had promised to see her again, and although in his heart part of him wished that she would remain with Makino and Dadan on their home island, he knew that she would sail away with Luffy when he left. Luffy was far more lenient with rules when it came to their family.
But he never thought this would be the way to see her again...in Marineford, crying out to him to believe in her and Luffy.
Ace felt less worried about his own fate and more worried about how he could get you safely away from this battlefield whilst he was shackled and about to be killed...
Of course...everything seemed to work out, Ace, Luffy, and their wonderful little sister were only a little way of being safe, Trafalgar Law, standing upon his submarine after agreeing to allow them board and escape.
Ace had merely turned his head away for one second...away from watching his little sisters back to survey the path ahead when he heard a pained gasp and a grunt of surprise.
When he looked back, Ace had never felt more sick to his stomach.
His baby sister...only 10...was standing shellshocked, eyes were blown wide and mouth open in a silent gasp, blood dripping out of a hole through her small body. Flames and magma oozed around and out of it and Akainu stood behind her, his face a mix of anger and confusion.
It only took Ace a second to see what had happened, the minute he had looked away to the front, his little sister had looked back and taken the blow that had surely been aimed at himself.
There’s really no way to describe what this poor boy is thinking, his body completely shuts down...and it’s as if the entire battle around them comes to a halt. He can feel every person's eyes on them...looking at his little sister.
Akainu pulls away, if not somewhat guilty for what he has done to a child, pirate or not, and doesn’t make another move for either Ace or Luffy.
His little sister takes a small step, and one more before looking down, and then back up. Her face looks confused before she looks to Ace.
The minute she finds his eyes, her body collapses...and Ace is right there to scoop her up.
“You're ok! You're ok...!” Ace gasps, his mind is still shut down, and he can’t think, “Everything’s going to be fine...we can fix this...there has to be a doctor...Trafalgar...he’ll fix you.”
But Ace knows better, he watches as the light starts draining from your eyes, and you look confused...so confused but he can still hear your faint whisper as you say “I love you guys...” for the very last time...
Ace doesn’t scream, he doesn’t move...he can hear Luffy let out the most heartwrenching noise imaginable...but he just looks at you, your eyes still half-open, not quite shut...staring straight through him.
You don’t look dead...surely your just playing a small little joke.
But when he feels a hand on his shoulder and looks up to the Heart Pirates captain, Law, he sees the smallest bit of sympathy in his otherwise cold eyes.
He knows that he has one last job to do...one last thing before he can stop everything.
He takes his little sisters body over his shoulder, pretending that the red liquid dripping down his chest isn’t really your blood, on the other shoulder he scoops up Luffy’s immobile body and he races to Trafalgars ship.
He allows Law to take Luffy to the medical wing, hooking him up and begin treating him for shock, and then they bring his little sister's body to another room until they can find a place to bury her.
Then and only then does he allow his body to fall into the unconscious state he’s been fighting off for what feels like hours.
When he awakens, Ace simply lies in the medical bed that Law has dumped him off then, trying to process the information and everything that's happened.
Ace ultimately makes the choice to bury her next to Whitebeard, knowing that the old man will take good care of his little sister in whatever afterlife there may be.
He also makes the choice to leave the remaining Whitebeard Pirates ranks...choosing to now alliance himself with his brother, and vowing to never. ever. EVER, let anyone touch a hair on Luffy’s head.
Ace won’t be the same ever again, after this loss...but when he thinks of your smiling face, despite the sadness he feels at your memory, it reminds him to keep on fighting, for himself and his beliefs, and for Luffy.
Luffy
Tumblr media
We know Luffy is goofy and immature, and sometime’s careless...but older brother Luffy is more serious. He observes everything that has to do with his sister, and he takes extra good care of her.
He didn’t put up a fight when it was time for him to set sail and his little sister wanted to go with her. He felt confident enough that he could protect her.
When it was time to go to Marineford, Luffy tried to get her to stay behind, but his little sister wouldn’t hear of it...she wanted to protect her older brothers as much as they protected her.
Luffy and his sister worked together to free Ace, and Luffy was overjoyed. Everything was going to work out, and they would be reunited again.
Luffy wouldn’t have to hear his baby sister sob Ace’s name or call for her brother in her nightmares.
Ace led the group towards the submarine, and Luffy follows eagerly behind.
Unlike Ace, who looked away from their sister the moment she was struck, Luffy is forced to watch the entire thing.
He sees Akainu coming towards them, and he watches his baby sister catch his eye, see’s his fist raised to strike Ace, and all but dives in front of the firey fist.
He is forced to watch the heated fist smash through his little sister's body, he hears the sizzling of their skin, he watches the initial blood crust over before new blood rises.
Ace turns his head back finally, but Luffy’s already seen enough. His voice is trapped in his throat, and everything is shutting down around him. He lets her name slip through his mouth, but it’s merely a noiseless whisper.
He watches her step forward, and collapse into Ace’s arms.
He’s never truly felt like a failure until this very moment, he’s never wanted to lay down and give up, he’s never wanted to think about giving up.
He’s never thought about living without his baby sister.
For a while, he was the youngest sibling in their ragtag little honorary family. And then when they found her...Luffy had never been excited...he was going to be the big brother...he could tease her, and train with her and protect her like he had been as the youngest
But he had done nothing...couldn’t do anything now.
He let out a scream, a scream that came from within him, making his own blood curdle. He saw the light leave her eyes, and the last thing he heard was her saying “I love you...”
Luffy although upright, was unconscious seconds after.
When he awoke, he was a mess.
He fought everyone aboard the Heart Pirates sub, taking off into the woods of whatever island they had landed upon.
He called his sisters name, willed her to come out so perhaps it would all be a dream after all.
When Ace finds him, he asks if he knows where their little sister is. Perhaps she’s playing hide and seek?
But when he sees Ace’s tears, he knows. He’s always known honestly. Luffy breaks down again, utterly heartbroken.
Luffy is grateful for Ace remaining by his side because after everything Luffy isn’t sure he would be strong enough to continue without their little sister by his side.
Extra: Sabo
Tumblr media
Sabo didn’t get the same amount of time then the others did with you. But he still remembers the babbling little baby that he would get to hold in his arms when he was just a child. Who he would calm to sleep rocking her in his little arms.
To forget all about her was painful...
But to finally awaken these memories by a picture in a newspaper, was unbearable. They hadn’t named you, you being so young and not having any bounty.
But he could see it in your features, the shape of your nose, the color of your eyes, your hair, once few and short, now longer and full.
You were so young...and you were gone?
Sabo collapses instantly, and when he awakens he’s remembered everything.
He takes any lead, listens to anyone with information, and it eventually leads to your grave, buried beside Whitebeard, Ace’s former Captain. He sets out 4 cups, fills three of them with sake, and the fourth is filled with a sweet juice he recalls you like when you were little so long ago.
He spends the day there, thinking of you before he continues on his way.
He has a new goal in mind...he plans to find Ace and Luffy.
He wants to hear their stories, know all about how you grew up...your favorite things...what he missed when he was gone and had forgotten.
It takes some years, but finally, in Dressrosa he meets with his brothers once more, a tearful reunion that promises a little relief amongst the grief of three brothers.

Wedding - Part 1
For my lovely @one-piece-26 - After the proposal comes the wedding ofc ;)
Whitebeard was the first one to notice the rings on his son’s fingers. Simple and beautiful silver rings on ther ringfinger. He chuckled to himself and gently patted both of them on the back, congratulating them. It caught the attentions of the crew around them and while Marco had slight pink cheeks, Thatch practical beamed like the sun. Izo noticed right away what their father was talking about and swiftly moved to stand in front of the two lovers.
“My, my. It finally happened, hmm? That is so wonderful. I’m so happy for both of you. I guess you did it last night, Marco?” Izo smiled, knowing very well it was Marco who had proposed, as he knew that something like that wouldn’t even cross Thatch’s mind. Not that the cook was against marriage or such, he just didn’t think it was necessary. Of course eh would say yes to the person he loved, but he would never had proposed himself, unless someone told him to do it. Good thing it was Marco he was with, as he did think of marriage.
Marco blushed more, while Thatch pulled him into a sideways hug. “He did and he had prepared a really nice and romantic day in the sunflower field.” The cook sighed happily, only causing Marco to blush more, much to Izo’s amusement. The sixteenth division commander gave both Thatch and Marco a look. “I will help you arrange it. You can’t simply do an improvised wedding. Oyaji will of course be the one to bind you, but food, booze, clothes and flowers need to be arranged. It’ll be a shame for our allies to miss out on such a grand party too.” Izo hummed.
Thatch gave Marco a short and amused gaze, as the Phoenix grew a little pale at the workload such planning would put on them. However, one gaze at his lover and he knew it would be worth it. Binding his heart with Thatch’s was going to be the happiest day in his life and it should be perfect. He looked back at Izo. “You’re right, but I do have one request to make. If possible, try not to bring this to the attention of Redhair, yoi.”
“I’ll do my best, but you know how he is. A grand party like this will surely somehow be known to him. Now please enjoy your first day as engaged men. I’ll be laying out a sketch of a plan.” Izo gave both a kiss on the cheek and left them. It didn’t take long before the entire crew had heard and all wanted to congratulate them. As night came, both found themselves lying on the bed, cuddled close together and talking about how happy their family were for them.
Days passed and Marco found out just how much work planning a wedding actually was. The main flowers would be sunflowers and the theme color was blue. Thatch was not really bothered with the menu, only the cake and snacks. The invites had been sent and the island and date set. Hopefully the marines wouldn’t get wind of it. The last thing Marco wanted, was to fight on his wedding day. His wedding day... He couldn’t really believe that he was going to marry. It was just as surreal as when he and Thatch had their first romantic date and kiss..
Shaking his head he looked over at the huge budget. It would take a lot of their money, but even when Marco protested, every single person said it was fine and they could live with getting less money. Everyone wasso hooked and hyped for this wedding. Marco wasn’t sure if it was because of the HUGE party or the fact that he and Thatch would say yes to each other and be bond together. Maybe a combination of both?
“Hey love. Stressing over the wedding?” Thatch placed a mug of hot tea on the table and gave Marco a quick kiss on the cheek. Marco smiled and looked at the clock. 9.45 pm. Had he really been doing this for 3 hours? He stretched his body, before taking a sip of the tea. “Not stressing, just trying to put it all together, yoi.”
Thatch chuckled and sat on their bed. “We got most preordered already and Izo has full control on the decoration. The music is also set and all we’re missing is our clothing. You know Izo would thorw a fit if we just put on our usual attire.” The cake’s design and taste had been decided earlier that day and the menu had always been a huge buffet of different kind of things. After all, this wedding would feed around 2500 people or more. Just the Whitbeard crew alone was 1600 people and then there were their allies.
Marco sighed and went to sit next to Thatch, drinking his evening tea. “You’re right, but I still can’t believe how expensive it is. We’ll need to do some raiding to even pay for the fabrics, yoi.” Thatch grinned at that. “Sounds like a good date. You and I stealing from the marines or rivals or even some shitty noble? I could really use some time off from the kitchen.”
Placing the now empty mug back on the table, Marco grinned too, before crawling onto Thatch’s lap. “Well my love, why don’t we do that soon then? I know of a shitty noble not far from here. We can have Izo and Kingdew as back up, not that I think we need it, but you know how Oyaji is, yoi.”
“I would love to go on a date with you and that sounds like a fun one.” Thatch grinned, before Marco captured his lips for a deep and passionate kiss. Maybe it was risky, but both were getting a little restless and frustrating with all this wedding planning and the crew cooing and teasing most of the time. Aside from all the odd suggestions about what to do and what to wear on their special day, Marco didn’t mind the teasing. It was just getting old and he needed to get away from it just for a few hours.
As said, the two lovers went to raid a noble, who were really a shitty person, but also aligned with the marines. However, there were no marines nearby and so the raid went smoothly, the noble not even realizing he’d been robbed or that his slaves were freed, before Marco, Thatch and the slaves were back on the sea. They hadn’t planned on extending the family, but they couldn’t leave slaves behind.
“You two are insane, you know that?” Vista chuckled amused, seeing them coming back with former slaves, lot of loot and smiling like they had just been on a regular date. Thatch winked at his brother, arm around Marco’s waist, as they went to tell Oyaji what happened and how come they had brought more family members with them. Whitebeard didn’t mind the addition to his family and welcomed them with open arms.

Memories and newspapers(by lunna-star-8)
I didn’t wake up screaming this time… There were tears spilling from my eyes, remnants of nightmares I was yet to get through, but no screaming. My head was becoming a worse place, my nightmares had gone from losing my brothers over and over to all the things I could’ve done differently to save Ace… Could I have stopped Ace from getting into that much trouble if I had forced him to tell me more in Alabasta? Could we have helped if I had just known…? If I had found out more about Vivre Cards, would knowing something was wrong earlier made a difference? If I made a habit of reading newspapers I would’ve known earlier, would trying earlier have made it easier, would Ace still be alive? If, when Lola told us the meaning of the burning Vivre Card, I had convinced Luffy that we should at least check on our brother, would that have helped? We had our crew then, what in the world could’ve stopped all of us…? If I could’ve held onto Ace’s hand tighter when Akainu opened his filthy mouth, would he have listened if I had begged him to turn away…? If I had gotten stronger by the time of the war could I have defeated Magellan and spared Luffy, getting us to Ace faster? Could I have held Akainu back…? Could I have saved us all if I was stronger, smarter… Better informed…?
I don’t think anyone could ever convince me otherwise.
I turned to the side, expecting to see Luffy but for a split second I saw those three little idiots I remembered so well, standing by my bedside “Luna, Luna, are you ok?! Do you want some meat?” “No, she doesn’t need meat, she needs rest.” “Sabo’s right. And what were you doing facing a tiger that big by yourself, idiot?” “Yeah and don’t you try and act like you weren’t the most worried of the three of us, Ace.” “I—I was not!” “But Ace, you were the first to jump to attack the tiger…” “Shut up, rubber for brains.”
I got up so quickly that some of my wounds flared up, only for the memory to fade with the pain. I rubbed the scar over my left eye where three slashes cut through my eyebrow barely missing my eye. I had wanted to prove I could do it, that I was just as capable of holding my own, that I wasn’t a dead weight… They had never once said anything to make me think those things, but I was the only girl, the one that had a tendency to need protecting, I wanted to prove that I wasn’t weak but I bit off more than I could chew and my brothers ended up needing to rescue me. When I told them why I had faced the tiger all by myself, Ace and Sabo had lost it, asking why I would ever think that I needed to prove myself to them… In the dim light of the infirmary, I chuckled to myself thinking that not much had changed since then, except that I was two brothers short…
I got off the bed and put my sandals on before I walked over to Luffy’s bedside, he was still out for the count, no change. Fortunately, he had calmed down, had his nightmares stopped or had they gotten like mine…? I petted his hair before leaning over to kiss his forehead. Being left in that silence wasn’t good for my head, so I grabbed the black coat I had been using and left the room.
The crew was moving around, which meant that it was day time, but that was about as much as I could tell. I said hellos to faces that I remembered seeing around and ended up finding Ikkaku in what I assumed was the engine room or something “Oh! Look who’s out of bed again!” I pushed a laugh onto my lips at her words.
“Hello Ikkaku!” I waved with a smile. Smiling hurt, smiling hurt a lot but it was easier than being left alone with my thoughts “Please tell me you have something I can keep busy with, my wounds are healing but I might die of boredom.”
She laughed before flipping a wrench expertly between her fingers “If I give you something to do, I’ll be the one dying. Death by Captain.”
I shoved my hands in the coat’s pocket “I’ll inform you that captain grumpy has allowed me to walk around.”
She laughed, most likely at my description of her captain “Since when?”
“Since he had to stitch me back up when I first tried to sneak out.” I replied and she tilted her head like she saw where I was coming from “Now, help me out girl. Give me something to do.”
“I don’t remember saying you could do stuff.” The sudden voice behind me made my tiger ears jump out as I turned to find the dark eyes of the captain of the ship.
“LAW?!” His arms were crossed, like he was waiting for me to elaborate “You said I could move around now…”
He nodded “I remember. But I have no recollection of letting you start doing things, in fact, I’m pretty sure I said just the opposite.”
“Grumpy panda.”
“Scardy cat.”
I took my hand to my chest in the most dramatic fashion I could muster “I’m not! The ears just… Come out by themselves…”
“Oh! I was thinking of how you basically hit the roof when I showed up.” I could almost slap his wiseass smirk off his face.
“I was not scared.”
He shrugged as his smirk only grew wider “You could’ve fooled me.”
I was about to argue back when Ikkaku’s voice made me turn back to her “Did you need anything, Captain?” the mechanic seemed amused with our little arguing.
Law looked over at her, ignoring I was even there “Bepo was looking for you, but you know he doesn’t really like to come down here.”
Ikkaku nodded “I’ll go find him in a minute just need to finish this off first.”
“Sure.” He then looked back at me “You’re coming with me.”
I crossed my arms over my chest again and turned away “What if I don’t want to?”
“Then I’ll drag you and I’m sure I can find a way to keep youin the infirmary this time.” He didn’t even wait, he just started walking away and, after some huffing, I did end up following after him. Damn panda.
It didn’t take me long to realize we were walking back the way I had come from, I was about to open my mouth to say something when he opened the door before and stepped in, leaving the door open for me to follow. It was a medium sized room, just as we walked in it had a desk followed by a shelf packed with books, there was a couch against the back wall and on the other side of the couch, another stack of books packed in another stack of shelves, on the same wall as the door, there was a medical like bed where he probably did examinations, that was his office.
Looking at the wall to my right, with his desk and bookshelf, I realized that it was the wall right up against the infirmary, more specifically, my bed was right against that wall “You spend a lot of time here?”
He placed his long sword by the side of the desk and hooked up his hat on the back of the chair “I guess you could say that.”
I closed the door behind me as I stepped inside “No wonder you heard my nightmares…”
“I’ve told you not to worry about that.” He pulled his chair and sat, leaning his elbow on the desk “You wanted something to do? Pick a book. You’re not leaving my sight until I know that you won’t bleed to death doing push-ups or something.”
I sat on the couch and crossed my legs as I crossed my arms “You can’t watch me all the time.”
“Last time I checked, I’m the captain here.” He pointed out “I can do just about anything I want.”
I had to hand it to him, couldn’t really argue with him there, but I cracked a smile “You know, I figured it out…”
He raised me and eyebrow “Figured what out?”
“It took me a bit amidst all this and stuff…” I opened the jacket a bit as it wasn’t as cold in his office as it was in the halls “But we’ve met before, in Sabaody.”
He nodded “That’s right, you accused me of being scared of fighting some marines.”
“You were suggesting us leaving instead of fighting.” I shrugged.
“You and your brother had just punched a Celestial Dragon in the face.”
I tilted my head “He deserved it.”
“They always deserve it.” He put his right ankle over his left knee and leaned his elbows now on his leg “What did you call Eustass when he said you were just a first mate?”
I looked up, chuckling at the memory “I called him ‘just an underdeveloped bird brain’ and that nobody held that against him.”
“You could’ve just called him stupid, you know?”
I looked back at him and shrugged putting my hands by my side on the couch “And miss out on this cool line just so bird brain could grasp what I was saying? I don’t think so.” I looked around again to find a newspaper sitting right beside me, I’ve never been the kind of girl to grab a newspaper but I was reaching for this one before I thought much about it.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you.” Law’s voice me hesitate “You’re gonna want to stay away from newspapers for a while.”
I only hesitated for a second before I grabbed the paper that was folded in half “Why wouldn’t I—” flipping the newspaper open to look at the front page, my heart stopped – “Gol D. Roger’s bloodline eliminated.” It read in big bold letters right in the front page. My hands started to shake and breathing became hard, I couldn’t even see right, if Law said anything I didn’t hear, all I could hear was the thumping of my heart like damn war drum drowning everything but the bloodlust. I wanted to speak, I wanted to know how long it had been since the war, how long had I been out, I wanted to scream at whomever wrote these damn things, daring to lump Ace with Roger. How dare they?! But I couldn’t breathe let along speak…
My whole body flinched when I felt someone touch my hands, like all my senses returned at the same time. Looking up, it was Law and he quickly raised his hands to me “Are you back?”
I loosened my grip on the paper and looked away as fast as I could “Sorry…”
“You don’t have to apologize.” His voice seemed kinder than usual, like he was expecting me to snap at any moment. I heard the sound of him touching the newspaper and then felt him trying to get me to let go of it “He’s not the son of the king of the pirates, he’s not whitebeard’s second division commander, he’s not fire fist… He’s just your brother.” My fingers slipped from the paper as I bit my lip and covered my eyes with my hand “It’s ok to cry…”
I shook my head feeling my whole-body trembling “I…” my voice cracked and I struggled to keep my tears in “I’ve cried enough…” I swallow my tears and breathe deeply before I pull my hand from my face and force the biggest smile I can onto my lips. I saw his jaw drop slightly as he looked at me, my shoulders dropped “My brothers would be sad if I was crying all the time, like this…” I explained “They never liked to see me crying…”
“I don’t see how a fake smile is any better…” he confessed half avoiding my eyes.
I shrugged slightly “It’s not fake, it’s just hard. Finding smiling hard doesn’t make it fake.”
He sighed standing to his full height, newspaper in his hands “Let’s leave the news for now, yeah? Pick a book, I have no shortage of those.”
“I don’t usually read it anyway…” I admit “Half the time, it’s telling you things you already know and the other half is trying to brainwash you into something. Every word handpicked into a collection of sentences that’s designed specifically to direct your way of thinking. Even the pictures are picked not for the way they show what happened but for the way they frame their narrative.”
“Then why?”
I looked up at him, my fingers fiddling with the stars on my bracelet “I’m the first mate and right now my crew is who knows where… I need to be sure they’re not in some kind of trouble.”
“What if they were? What do you think you could do about that?” he asked still standing in front of me with the paper in his hands.
“I don’t know.” I admitted “But recently, I’ve discovered that I’d rather know and figure it out from there.”
He looked at the paper and turned his back to me “I’ve read this one, nothing about your crew.” He seemed to look down at the paper again before he sighed “But tell you what…” he turned back to me “Have you ever heard of Sora, the Warrior of the Sea?”
I raised him an eyebrow “Should I…? Is he a famous pirate or something?”
If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that his eyes actually sparkled at my ignorance. He showed me the comic strip, allowed me to read it and explained to me what the hell I was reading, how he’d been reading that since he was a kid in the North Blue and how Sora’s the superhero that fights the evil Germa. I had to admit, it was kind of cute to see him geek out about something, despite the smirks and the smart comebacks, he always seemed too uptight, too closed off. This was a nice side of the Surgeon of Death – no, this was a nice side of Law.
Here’s chapter 4 everybody! I’m living for the relationship between Law and luna ! Can’t wait to read more!

Scar headcanons for...whoever you feel like? XD sorry im not so specific, I just want to hear every bodies lol
Nah its fine, i dont mindScar headcanons for whoever I feel like! Lets gooooo!
Luffy-
Besides the obvious scars (his cheek scar and the one on his chest) he actually doesn’t have many, as his devil fruit makes it harder for him to scar.
Luffy traces his chest scar when he thinks of Ace. It also aches when it gets too hot or when he uses his Red Hawk.
He has 3, small and clean white lines on the left side of his stomach that curl up slightly from the Bear attack after Sabo died. They’re really light, so you have to really look to see them, but they’re there. When Luffy thinks of Sabo, he’s unconsciously put his hand on them.
He has a bunch of little white scars in his hair from when he got punched with spiked gloves. One or two just peek out from under his hairline, but they’re pretty fine and thin.
He also has similar thin white scars on the tips of his fingers from climbing the mountain on Drum Island.
Usopp
He has stretch marks from his 2 year training. He doesn’t normally mind them, but sometimes when he feels like he’s eating too much, looking at them can send him into a food avoiding spiral.
He has a few scars on his fingers and hand from when he was learning to shoot his slingshot when he was a kid. The most notable is a thin whitr scar between his thumb and finger from when his older slingshot shattered in his hand.
He has this thin, little cut on his left shoulder that he has no idea where he got it from, but he got it sometime after sailing with the crew.
He also some pretty deep scars on his arms and shoulders from using the reject dials, which also mark where he broke his arm bones from the same dial. His arm aches when it’s cold.
Sanji-
A few tiny little nicks on his fingers and hands from when he started to cook, also a burn or two. Otherwise his hands are completely injury free.
He has a rather long and straight surgical scar from his surgery on Drum Island to fix his broken back and ribs.
He has several scars on his legs. One of the most notable being a burn scar on his left leg from when he tried his Diable Jambe for the first time. The other are several small scars on the bottom of his feet and up his ankles, mostly from when he started training to use just his legs when he was younger.
He has small, jagged ’S’ shape scar at the nape of his neck that disappears up into his hairline. He knows it’s from when he was with the Vinesmoaks and it was most likely from an attack from his brothers, but he doesn’t know when or who. He only knows it’s there because Zeff once commented on it.
Robin-
She, next to Franky, has the most scars. She is absolutely littered with them.
Stab wounds, bullet wounds, shrapnel, burns, you name it, she has it. She has been in some of the worst company for most her life after all.
Most of the serious ones happen to be on her hands and arms, as whatever is done to her copies is translated back to her, just in a lesser degree. (If it was full translation, her hands would have been cut off ages ago im sure) Not every injury scars, but over the years they have built up to quite the collection. Mostly slashes and stab wounds, with a few burns and a gunshot wound or two, ect.
The stab wound from Crocodile ended up being a scar, a quite nasty one too, directly in the middle of her chest, between her breasts. It’s jagged and roundish, slightly longer and thinner near the top due to the shape of the hook. Thankfully most of it not noticeable. Though it always itches really bad and tends to be sensitive.
She also has a bit of a lightning scar on her right shoulder, running down her arm a bit, from Enru.
She also got a small scar above her left eyebrow, it goes into her hairline. She got it at Enies Lobby, she thinks it was Spandam, but he and a lot of other people hit her quite a lot that day so its hard to tell
Ace- (slight self harm warning)
Oh boy
This boi grew up in a jungle with mountain bandits
It’s surprising he’s not 99% scar tissue tbh with his upbringing
He has huge claw marks on his upper leg from inner thigh to out from a bear attack right after he meet Sabo
Actually he has several claw marks and lines from different animals all over, mostly on his limbs, but most are faded or lighter then that one
Has a bite marks from wolves in his lower left calf, left his hip, and the nape of his right shoulder.
Has a single, jagged line up the middle of his back from someone in Grey Terminal when he got careless (it got covered by his Whitebeard Tattoo later)
He has three self harm scars from when he was younger, before Sabo. He just didn’t know how else to deal with stuff, and he heard from some adults in Gray Terminal that it would help. He ended up not doing it again, just didn’t work out for him like he thought it would. But anyways, the scars themselves
One is on his left arm, near the inner elbow. It’s just a small, nick, his very first one and he wasn’t sure about it.
The other two are on his right arm. The first is more around the side, light and small. The last is directly across the wrist. It was done with a shattered, broken pipe piece, and he was very angry when he did it. The line is jagged, deep, and looks more like an accident then deliberate. He nearly bled out with that one, and from then decided not to do it anymore.
He doesn’t like looking at that one, always lies about where it came from
After eating his devil fruit, he stopped mostly stopped scarring (also because he got better with dodging and Haki XD)
He does however have a round, bullet scar on his right shoulder from a seastone bullet when he got cocky with his Logia powers.

486: “The Show Begins! Blackbeard's Plot Is Revealed!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Holy crap, that was amazing... *_*
Just when you think Oda has run out of curve balls to throw and all that’s left is to tidy up the loose ends of an epic arc, he launches this one into outer space.
The best part? I had no clue what was coming. My opinion of Teach and his crew as plot catalysts is totally cemented now. Once they show up, all bets are off.
Argh, I can’t wait to talk about it! I wish I had watched it earlier. I was still bummed about Ace and Whitebeard and couldn’t muster any reviewing energy. Now, the fire is back! As much as I love Whitebeard, that Blackbeard twist was above and beyond.
Let’s get the other stuff out the way first!
Welp, Akainu’s Alive
Tumblr media
I was holding out hope someone would find him at the bottom of the ocean during cleanup, but nope, he was clinging to a rock. Damn you, Akainu, and your uncanny grip strength. The way he returned to the battlefield was creative, though, I’ll give him that. He punched a hole in the rock he was holding, melted it and created a lava tunnel, which he walked through, muttering darkly about justice (probably).
While he trudged back looking like an angry, melting waxwork, everyone congregated on the battlefield was still reeling from Whitebeard’s glorious death. The entire world, who had been watching, were also reeling. Some idiots were celebrating, but of course we know most of the general OPverse population have been spoonfed government propaganda all their lives. Oh well. They’ll find out the hard way that Whitebeard had been keeping the peace on a lot of islands.
Rayleigh was watching too. Must’ve been weird for him. All the people he used to know are dropping like flies. I suppose that’s all part and parcel of growing old but normal folk don’t usually get to watch their mates die in battle on television.
Doflamingo was also cheerfully engaged with the plot twist. He felt weirdly like a viewer. He picked himself a nice rock, sat down and was like, “So Teach, what are you up to with those criminals and that jail manager, eh???”
At least Marco, Vista, Ivankov and Jimbei had the sense to obey Whitebeard’s final order and tried to get the hell out of Marineford. Jimbei’s resolve to take care of Luffy has convinced me he will be next in line for the Sea Dad title. This resolve was tained by major pathos when it was revealed Ace planned ahead in case he died, asking Jimbei to look out for his little brother.
Tumblr media
At the time, Jimbei refused, saying he only did that for people he held in high regard. Hauling ass with Luffy slung under one arm and Hancock covering them, he fully admitted he still hasn’t broken his self-imposed vow. We all know what that means. He is now Luffy’s Uncle Jimbei FOR REAL and is now stuck with an adorable, adopted, rubbery nephew for life. I expect him to sign the legal papers any day now.
Just as they were about to board the ship, Aokiji appeared out of nowhere and froze the water. At which point, Akainu, the literal hot mess, pulled himself from the ground and was like, “ACCESS DENIED, PIRATES. HAND OVER DRAGON’S SON!” Jimbei was prepared to die, but Ivankov saved him the trouble. There’s another one with obligations to Luffy (mainly because he couldn’t face Dragon ever again if little Luffy died on his watch).
While this was going down, Buggy managed to spin his wailing cowardice into another PR coup. Success! The fact he froze when Teach and Whitebeard were fighting was, of course, a sign of compassion for the enemy! Saint Buggy has so much to teach us about life. As he high-tailed it off the battlefield, his crew dropped the DDM.
Turns out this was a good thing. It increased ratings for the Blackbeard Pirates’ Magic Show: Live from Marineford!
Every Little Thing He Does Is... Magic? No. Tragic. Yeah, I Meant Tragic.
Tumblr media
Must confess I laughed a lot at this bit before Oda dropped the curveball. It was oddly comedic, with Blackbeard saying, “Woof, thank god the old man’s finally dead!” and Laffite appearing at his shoulder, like, “Ahem, Captain, our show?” to which Blackbeard said, “Lol, yeah, almost forgot. Let’s go guys!”
When they flung that black cloth over Whitebeard, I almost lost it laughing. Like, Teach... Blackbeards... are you for real? Are you going for an ACTUAL magic show here? Then Teach wriggled under the cloth and Laffite told off some curious Marines for getting too close, like a ten year old at a talent show. “NUUUU, DON’T LOOK, WE’RE NOT READY!!! RIGHT, OKAY, HERE’S OUR MAGIC SHOW PRESENTED BY CAPTAIN TEACH, PLZ APPLAUD!”
I refuse to believe they rehearsed this. All they had to do was play Could It Be Magic and I would have been hospitalized for split sides.
When Blackbeard was ready, the cloth was whipped off to reveal...
Nowt. A massive nowt.
I laughed.
Then Teach said, “Watch this, nerds.”
Tumblr media
And I grabbed all the laughter and shoved it back in my mouth because holy crap the painfully ill-rehearsed Tragic Show was totally worth the earth-shattering reveal.
Teach said before they would put on a show that would ‘shake the world’.
I see what you did there, Teach. You intended on stealing Whitebeard’s Tremor Tremor Fruit all along.
In his words, “The gravity of darkness brings total annihilation. And the power of tremor destroys everything! I possess both! No one can compete with me now. I'm the strongest man in the world!”
Yup. So now Teach possesses two extremely powerful fruits. I’m not sure how this is possible but Marco said Teach is ‘physically different’ from other people. This seems to hint that Teach is special and very few characters would be able to replicate this trick.
It seems there was a real risk the Tragic Show wouldn’t go Blackbeard’s way. Shiryu hinted that if it didn’t go well, the crew would have disbanded. Just as well Teach’s gamble paid off. I wonder if there is a risk to Teach when he absorbs multiple fruits? How does he do it? How did he even figure out he could do it? I have many questions.
The coolest part, though, was the excellent speech he made after he pulled off the show of the century.
“The tremor fruit destroys everything! No one can compete with me. Tell all the people in the world, the boring people who love peace, the Marines, the World Government, and pirates! The future of the world is now determined. Yes, here comes the era that I conquer!”
Welp. That does it.
Good job breaking it, Marines. You fell for Teach’s scheme, hook, line and sinker.
Y’all are gonna regret celebrating Whitebeard’s death.

Sabo and Ace for the send me a ship thing >:D
who’s the werewolf and who’s the hunter
It works so well w/ both of them thoooooooooooooughhhhhhhhhhhh //whines. Haha sabo hasn’t had a chance to be a werewolf tho so let’s go w/ him pfft. And like ohhhhh mannnnn just imagine that it’s Sabo’s own PARENTS who hire a hunter to track him down, and maybe werewolves are a bit more vicious and broken and angry and even more so when they’re forcibly turned and not part of a pack, and Ace accidentally befriends Sabo when he comes into town and so when he’s out hunting during the full moon a couple of weeks later Sabo has his scent. And he doesn’t…. he doesn’t want to hurt people, but especially not Ace….not Ace. Who’s been kind, and made him laugh, and hasn’t treated him differently because he can’t see from his left eye, just adjusted for the scars and didn’t ask, and everyone always asks and he makes up a different story every time but he shouldn’t have to, can’t they just leave him alone (but he doesn’t want Ace to leave him alone, and fuck does that wreck him when Ace is carefully eyeing him down across the barrel of a gun).
who’s the mermaid and who’s the fisherman
OKAY SO MERMAID ACE AND FISHERMAN SABO BUT LIKE, BUT LIKE, IT’S FLUFFY AND GOOD WHEN THEY’RE ADULTS AND SABO JUST GOES OUT EVERY DAY AND CONSIDERED THIS WEIRD MAN WHO TALKS TO THE SEA IN HIS VILLAGE BUT WHEN THEY WERE KIDS, OH WHEN THEY WERE KIDS-
Sabo almost drowned when he was a kid because his parents just didn’t care about him, and he loved to explore and they never watched him and he got into so much shit, and he loved the ocean, and got stuck out and in a rip and couldn’t keep afloat and the next thing he knew he was coughing up water and there was a mermaid hovering over him, squishy cheeked and not pretty, like mermaids were meant to be, but pretty enough to sabo, and fascinating, and Ace wants to be his friend??? Sabo doesn’t have any friends.
But then bc he talks about the mermaid so much, people start figuring it out, and his parents pay him more attention and….sabo’s a kid, he does just want his parents to take care of him, and love him, and prove they love him, and they listen to him, and they do when he talks about his mermaid and Sabo!!!!!!!!!! being used as bait!!!!!!!!!!!!! To capture mermaid!ace!!!!!!!!
Sabo yelling at Ace and telling him to go away and Sabo almost drowning again bc no-one will help him and Ace won’t leave and so gets caught and grows older but weaker, and his scales loose their luster, and sabo acts like the perfect son but this desperate fury grows in him and finally finally he manages to escape and he and ace go and live by the sea and are happy….
who’s the witch and who’s the familiar
mmrrggghhh Ace is the familiar?? I think???? But like,,,,,,,,,,,,demon familiar,,,,,,,,,,,And Sabo gets asked constantly why he summoned a demon, why he kept a demon, why he hangs around a demon, demons are bad luck, and Sabo keeps his lips in a flat line and won’t let his reasons fall from his lips-
Because said demon used to be his friend, because Ace had sold his soul to make sure Sabo would stay alive, and the least Sabo could do was let Ace have as long as he wanted in the world above, and that he- Ace couldn’t let him go, and he couldn’t let Ace go, and so he doesn’t care what having a demon as a familiar costs him - he doesn’t want Ace to leave his side.
who’s the barista and who’s the coffee addict
Ace is the barista!!! He used to use his employee discount for Sab but like……….Sabo bought so many coffees.
who’s the professor and who’s the TA
Ace is scatterbrained and Useless and how the Fuck he ever became a professor is beyond Sabo but he has like the most random collection of 30000 degrees, mainly earnt through practical knowledge, and how’s he a professor, Sabo thinks, the first time he meets Ace to apply for the job as his Secretary/assistant (that Ace’s brothers forced on him, bc Ace kept falling asleep and running late and is generally pretty Useless, and all sabo wants is the points for his stupid ~cultural~ part of his degree, he doesn’t need this,) and then he sees Ace teach and he’s like-
Oh.
And he’s this mess, this mess of beautiful, uncontrolled energy, he’s captivating, and rambling, and has so many stories, and he makes people laugh, and gets them to interact with each other and everyone else and Sabo’s just. What the fuck. Was this seriously the guy who face-planted in his breakfast and tried to drink paint water????????
who’s the knight and who’s the prince(ss)
Not so much princess but like hhhhhhh imagine noble!sabo and his loyal af guard ace and this,,,secret kisses pressed in dark spaces and quiet declarations of love and they can’t ever be loud, and Sabo wishes he could scream it from every rooftop, every time he promises Ace that he would should Ace ever ask it of him, Ace just takes his hand and shakes his head and Sabo just knows he’s thinking about the fact that such an affair would ruin Sabo’s reputation and Sabo’s like nothing is worth more to me than you but he doesn’t know how to make Ace see that. In that…he’s useless.
who’s the teacher and who’s the single parent
Okay so like I see so many “Ace as dad/caretaker of Luffy” but I present you this: Sabo’s parents who adopted a kid bc their reputation was Suffering but they treat Luffy like shit and basically use him to keep Sabo in line bc Sabo befriended him before Luf got adopted and so he’s stressed and tired and trying to fight his parents to get custody of Luffy. And then there’s this really nice (shit, really cute) teacher who hooks Sabo up with the whitebeard fam and he’s like aljshdgf jfc this guy I know is from the mob?? ahhhhhhhh fuck if I date him I’ll probably end up d ead,,,,,,,,,OH WELL, HE’S TOTALLY ENRAPTURED BY LUFFY, AT LEAST I’LL GO OUT KNOWING I HAD A CUTE BOYFRIEND AND THAT LUF’S ALL G.
who’s the writer and who’s the editor
Sabo’s still the writer!! Ace is less an editor and more pure and utter encouragement and support and like?? Sabo questions a lot of his skills that can’t be measured, like writing, and he knows he goes forever when he tells stories but like,,,,,,,,Ace likes them. ;u; And that’s totally good enough for him He probably never gets anything published (or, at least not big time) but he has ace’s adoration and attention and luffy begs him for more stories when ace/sabo babysit him soooo. Could be worse.
