#hi im back and experimenting #ive had the gnarliest art block for the past like month and a half sorry! i made this to try to break out of it #for more context this happened on the night we got drunk and watched spiderman 2 (2004) and i looked up the soundtrack afterwards #and fell down a rabbithole bc switchfoot is on it #my dad used to listen to contemporary christian radio (probably still does) so i heard a lot of the more popular Christian hits of the 2000s #also christian stations will play what the fuck ever sometimes if a song can be read in even a little bit of a christian way #idk how christian the fray is (ig they did make 'you found me' but.) but ive heard 'how to save a life' on christian stations #and theres plenty of like. really lowkey christian bands. like switchfoot! and relient k! #most ppl alive in the 00s have probably heard 'dare you to move' just in nature. and christian stations loved that one #newsboys is on that spectrum somewhere i think. they did 'belly of the whale' for the Jonah a veggietales movie #and the dvd bonus features include the music video for that plus the video for 'a million pieces' which doesnt feel overtly christian to me #anyway! i hope everyone likes this vertical format! and the coloring. im still trying to adjust my style for that part #when csp says 'brightness' it does not nean 'color value' which is an issue for my new method #but yknow its a learning curve #furry #queer artist #smth smth #queer comics #trans artist

About to say something horribly obvious, and I’m still going about Kni and the piano, well UM

In the last episodes there is this brief flashback of Vash humming a melody, and Kni asks what that melody is, to which Vash answers that he isn’t sure that it just comes to him and brings him comfort, and- LOOK I SAID IT WAS OBVIOUS BUT- that is the same melody present in all of Knives songs

So, maybe maybe, it was Kni the one who brought the melody to the piano, like composed it? I don’t know music terms sorry but I think you get what I mean

Then, when we see Knives appear on Jeneora Rock, Vash is able to tell its him because of the piano, he knows it’s his brother, perhaps not the first time he does that sort of entrance but it’s the melody that gives it away instantly (again. Very obvious I’m aware)

A melody that once brought Vash comfort and solace, he now sees it as a telltale sign of an incoming tragedy caused by his brother, something he should be afraid of and it’s no longer something that makes him feel at peace, on the contrary he just, you know, you know what I mean

OQNNS #IM exclusively talking about TriStamp very obviously so like #you can relate this to the manga if you want but pls know I haven’t read it yet so it really is just #tristamp yk. considering how it’s the only iteration in where the piano plays such an important part in his character #I think it’s important to be looked at and considered #the layers that this has. excuse me but how do you turn something someone loves into something that will make them terrified of #just by the fact of hearing it Vash is sent into immediate very well based panic #yeah all ive been doing is listen to the soundtrack for weeks now so I like to talk about it #and most scenes were constructed around the music. so it really is important #and again I don’t know about music but I like to think a lot and also get caught up in the littles things #like the fucking piano #trigun #vash the stampede #vash #millions knives #Kni saverem #Kni #nai saverem #trigun stampede #yes I know most ppl write the name as Nai. but ever since that one scene with their files I haven’t been the same #it’s written as Kni and it really stuck with me so sry bout that even though I’m not #lenssi rambles

i will admit i have run up the playtime on a few visual novels in my time purely because the soundtrack was really good and i sat there staring into space instead of reading for 10 minutes straight

#barely through the beginning of umineko and this has happened so much so far #and ive only hear like a fraction of the songs in that game im sure #but its good tunes! i really like the song where u hear the seagulls in the quiet part #and of course the inexplicable super catchy trance music of death is also a winner #i was listening to some vn music from vns ive never played as well (as one does) and like #most of these games i'll never play because i dunno they dont interest me or i cant read em or whatever #but one or two i kinda considered like damn the soundtrack is so good. maybe i should play it #BUT LIKE. i know when i hear the good tracks im just gonna do this again. sit there listening to it loop #it is but my nature #(btw sorcery jokers ost is really really REALLY good. the game looks like a normal like action shonen thing or whatever) #(so i dunno if its good or bad or anything but those tunes man......holy shit)

Year just started and I’m already completely throwing off my spotify wrap for the coming year cause all I’ve been listening to is vg osts lol. Ain’t got no time for metal or alternative rock/pop, I got jrpg music to listen to!

I kind of hope that we get more new salmon run music over time partially because it all fucking bangs and also because I want to see another salmonid band since I think it'd make for some interesting insight on salmonid culture! Mostly, how omega-3's music style represents salmonid music taste over all. Of course I would understand if we don't get a new salmonid band in splatoon 3, since from my understanding they serve a very important and almost sacred roll, and considering each omega-3 member comes from different groups of salmonids I could see it being an only one battle band can exist at a time sort of thing, but if that is the case I hope it gets said explicitly at some point (unless it already has been in which case ignore me dudjhdjdy)

its crazy to me actually the way that gustav holst's The Planets so singlehandedly influenced the entire genre of space music. like, literally any movie or tv soundtrack for space sci-fi or space documentaries has that distinct Sound that's different from typical classical music, right? and that distinct Sound can very clearly be found in holst's The Planets suite. its so nuts to me

i think i mentioned this in my romanticism post but pinterest is ur best friend. if i know anything about it u can trust i have a pinterest board for it; thats the same for school. gather motivating pictures & and pretty images that align with ur personal goals and style and make u wanna get up and work! i also use tumblr for this too. i'll link a couple blogs i love for this later on <3

if ur studying, make sure u actually enjoy the place you're studying in, or try to to the best of your extent. whenever i study im 9 times out of 10 always at my desk and ive decorated my desk specifically so that it motivates me to get up and do whatever i need to do + its super pretty and makes me smile every time i see it <3 decorate ur area with little trinkets and both things u love and things that motivate you, and switch it up when you can! don't stay in the same place all the time. spontaneity is fun!!!

make it pleasing to look at so ur more motivated to go back and revise over them if needed, and so you have something to do as well that is still related to your work if ur someone who gets distracted easily like myself. some inspo i use for my work:

make sure ur drinking lots of water !! i drink lots of water and lots of tea whenever im studying or doing any kind of schoolwork and it helps me a lot, + its just those little bits of comfort yk

i work way better with any music in the background but if you're someone who gets distracted easily i'd recommend making a specific playlist for studying and listening to non-lyrical music like lofi, video game soundtracks, classical music, instrumentals of songs u like, etc. (i'm not telling you to go against the rules of ur school but i put a headphone in in class sometimes and cover it with my hair just because i know i work way better with it and it helps me a lot bc most of the people in my classes are so freaking loud. so if ur allowed 100% go for it but i don't recommend what i do if you have a strict school)

🧸𓂃 ࣪˖ prioritising ur health & compromising

like i said in my other post, prioritise your health over anything else. if you didn't get a good nights sleep last night and you have a test tomorrow and need to study, then compromise; if you already know a lot about it or its not fate changing or life altering in some way or you can go over it quickly in the morning or something, go to sleep. your health is always more important in the long run and will help you to do even better in the future in every area of ur life
