hilarious drama going on on reddit, the least respectable social media site i use. someone goes to r/legaladvice with a question about a shitty interaction with a cop. pretty normal post.

some users replied with regular advice, but one r/legaladvice moderator came in saying it was OP's fault, defending the cop. when OP requested they "please read the post", they equipped their next reply with their little mod hat and told them that showing attitude would result in a ban.

after receiving hundreds of downvotes (and many replies, all of which were removed and banned), the r/legaladvice mod nuked the thread in a fit of anger.

so you'd think it'd stop there, right? well, that's where you're wrong.

there's another subreddit called r/bestoflegaladvice, where the more interesting r/legaladvice threads are reposted for audiences to take the piss out of. and of course, a mod throwing a tantrum and nuking a thread because they were asked to read would make that cut. so it was reposted! and of course, everyone started rightfully calling the mod a bootlicker.

people then started pointing out that the r/legaladvice mod team has cops on it, at which point, part two of the drama starts: some people are mods of both r/legaladvice AND r/bestoflegaladvice, and they get really mad when you call them cops (derogatory).

so of course, they take the best course of action, which is to angrily reply to comments calling them cops and then use mod powers to delete the comments they don't like, insisting that only ONE r/legaladvice mod is a cop, so it's totally fine!

the r/bestoflegaladvice thread was then deleted and locked by mods, presumably for "republicizing deleted comments".

the same thread was then reposted to r/bestoflegaladvice. again, the thread fills with people calling the r/legaladvice mods cops.

this thread was also deleted and locked by r/bestoflegaladvice mods.

but it doesn't end there! because there's ANOTHER subreddit called r/subredditdrama, where the juiciest drama from all manner of subreddits gets reposted. and you'll never believe what's gone on long enough to count as drama.

here, free from the shackles of reddit's legaladvice world, users were free to dunk on the mods as much as they want.

the r/subredditdrama thread was eventually deleted as well (but not locked) just because they don't accept links to nuked threads since the original can't be read, but thankfully, everything had been archived by that point.

and just because the streisand effect should never go unrealized, i'm reposting it here, to tumblr. who knows, maybe someone will bother to screencap this and put it on r/curatedtumblr, and it will eventually live on in reddit again.

as for OP, they reposted their situation to r/nostupidquestions and later posted this update:

moral of the story: never go to reddit for legal advice, because the legal advice subreddit is run by ONE cop.

There’s evidence that Palestinians in the mass graves (including babies, children, people in medical scrubs) were buried alive.

When I made this post just ten days ago, it was about mass graves discovered at Al Shifa hospital and now we have learned that the same had happened at Nasser hospital in Gaza. The same genocidal pattern: a hospital is put under siege, patients and medical staff are abducted, tortured and buried in mass graves.

But to build on the last point I wanted to bring attention to in the previous post, it is very crucial to also keep in mind is that the Palestinian Civil Defence have reported that Israel had deliberately concealed the identities of those it killed and buried in these mass graves. Close to 400 bodies have been buried in these mass graves, 58% of the recovered bodies have not been identified.

In a press conference, a spokesperson of the civil defence in Gaza said that Israel had intentionally disfigured the bodies postmortem in order to remove any identifying markers such as birthmarks. He also mentioned that they suspect that the bodies have been placed in body bags that expedited the decomposition process, destroying any possibility of them being identified.

One of the main and only ways families have been able to identify the bodies of their loved ones is through the clothes they remember them wearing the last time they saw them. I saw a video of a mother identifying her son by his striped jacket. You can see the grief mixed with relief that she will be able to give her son proper burial.

Remember when months ago I said that to be identified and buried in Gaza has become a luxury? This is very much still the case.

#uhm so i dream every time i sleep now which is wild but it also makes them far less memorable in the long run #like i remember them as soon as i wake up but theyre so underwhelming that i dont care and so by the end of the day i forget #BUUUUT i just fell asleep on accident and woke up like 30 mins ago so i remember that dream #i was in a mall by myself and i had a michaels shopping bag full of flowers for some reason #for some reason kohls had a custom collectible ornament department and so as i was leaving the store into the main mall area #i had to pass by the ornament station and this one grown ass man saw me and for some reason asked if i worked there #and in my dream i was like wtf bro im just walking by the ornament thing why do you think that means i work it #especially when 1. im not dressed like an employee 2. i have shopping bags on me and 3. one of those bags is from michaels ?!?! #so i was weirded out. i kept walking by but he decided to tag along with me for some reason #just fucking weird af and implying he was gonna accompany me the whole way through the mall #but then he stopped to get ice cream and i had also wanted ice cream lol but i was like oh im gonna continue on actually #so i managed to lose him there but was worried he’d catch up to me later on idk #i think then i met up w a friend who told me yeah that man has been like grooming this one girl #i was like erm girls plural … was he trying to get me too…? and friend was like no just girl singular #like ok so what the fuck is happening #anywsy i woke up then lulz

the office environment wasnt hostile or anything its just physically it wasnt very entirely comfortable. it was in the basement of a newly constructed building so the walls were like sterile white and there was no homeliness to it and then because it was the basement it was lacking in both A. sunlight and B. ambient noise, because it was so infrequently trafficked it was just so damn quiet. it was just a strange environment i guess and so because it was such a specific niche environment i cant help but associate it with that specific mental health period of my life and so im so afraid that like idk just the like. the weird white sterile lighting will just trigger my brain to be like oh its suicide time. UGH

fall 2021 really had me like in the depths of madness wildly seesawing from deep suicidal depression but then listening to horizons by starset and kicking my feet twirling my hair about venom. and then going back to the madness

#i think im feeling weird about this again because erm #my internship supervisor (from my senior year '22-23 internship - for the organization i had been volunteering with during 2021) #reached out to me earlier today while i was at work and asked if i'd be interested in the graduate internship position #i uhm. haevnt even opened her text #im having. complicated feelings #on one hand i loved that place and i loved working there and with her #on the other hand i also deeply associate working there with the absolute depths of my depression just bc thats how the timing worked out #so uhm. uknow . uhm. uhm. uhm!!!! #like i really want to accept it but also im like deathly afraid of accepting it and then backing myself into the same depression corner #ive already aired my dread over going back to the same uni for my grad program like just in general in case being in that #environment causes me to regress #but now being also back in that same office environment and then doing that same work. #im so afraid of it bringing back bad memories and bad habits #BUT ALSOOOO the work was so rewarding and i loved doing it so i dont want to say no1!?!?!?!!? #god. ugh. argh. ugh. ugh #pacing back and forth like a wild animal etc etc #brot posts #delete soon
