Is this a porno...? Who killed Sarah? Interesting music & scenes... Martha <3 Operate a sponge? Speaking of hair? Why did he say it out loud? Does he usually? Martha come! Do smth productive! She's so right. MR: Richard darling, you are neither trained nor professional.

A writer! Why would anyone want to kill a writer? KB: Oh castle, so many reasons Castle where did that even come from? There are only three reasons to commit a murder. Yo that's a really cool death tbh. Axe severed the spinal cord & then her lungs filled with blood & she drowned??? That's insane! Why does lanie sometimes have a one hour window & today have a four hour window? Lanie <3 CSU has already been in?

Lanie is good, I mentioned how annoying they masculinize & feminize beckett but lanie is literally a mortician/undertaker/coroner/medical examiner/doctor/pathologist dealing with bloody murders, smelly bodies, & she is still the most fiery, sexy, feminine woman around.

Esposito are you flirting? Wow she's flirting right back. espt don't u have a gf? & isn't she right there with a dead body? (just had a fanfic thought: lanie asks to have sex in a coffin, mirroring ryan's previous exploits) KR, softly: Dude JE: Dude KR, firmly: Dude. Hastings: Ditto KR: You also drew a bubble bath & listened to some John Legend? Wow these two are fighting KR: Can we get back to sarah (the literal murder victim) for just one more moment? Look at eachother sus (clipping)

This one's eyes are vibrant. Castle you're an author you MUST know what shippers are. Hun why would u sue the city like that Castle that could be true, except for how dramatic you made it. Tone it down a bit & it sounds legit

Who made the board there? The murderboard guy? Set design <3 I like beckett's scarf. See more, it might be a typing thing.

FCL she died. The american spelling is interesting Yes! Wait no Wow fans. I wonder how ABC would react if we sent a bunch of axes to them demanding our ships get together. (The most popular noncanon ship is rysposito obv so the axes would be sent for them ig.) She calls her parents by their first names? W/e, good for her Mmm stirring coffee.

I feel like the writers are sending a message to us the fans... *runs away sus after denying that she was a fan* Let her watch her shows b'y! (they're always making her some hot tomboy muscle car loving gun slinging detective & making her secretly feminine uwu totally lying. Like girl. Don't force her to be masculine in ways that don't fit her, don't force her to be feminine in ways that don't fit her, just let her be a well rounded person.)

I love the way he says "hey. beckett." & costume update: Esposito has a normal brown long sleeve with a collar; beckett has a nice dark grey vneck longsleeve; castle has his usual, the shirt is grey & I don't see any pattern on the jacket; & ryan has a smile, a tie (red & blue, dark), & a jacket that has a pocket on the front, I love a good breast pocket, this jacket has lapels (& obv he has a pin) but the material is smth I'm unclear on, esp with the pocket, & then he's also wearing a sweater or a vest or smth. (I guess I could snap a pic)

Weird. RC: "Tell us you were alone, it will make arresting you that must easier" It doesn't sound like him. Rick u also know a lot about temptation lane. Also r u texting ur mom?

Did the writers design this episode so we stop talking about rysposito & start talking about esplanie? Wow. Also I don't like esplanie. Esposito is his last name & lanie is her first. Espt my dude you are in a relationship & like you JUST SAID she is a murder suspect. But I have to admit, watching him wave his hands to get castle into the observation room is rly cute. (CLIPPING) (Cute fistbump too) Lmao chiquitas bananas JE: No. As in the telenovela. I used to watch it growing up with my grandmother. Ok 1- I love how he says telenovela; whenever I speak a french word in english I anglicize it, but when he says a spanish word in english he keeps it spanish. 2- did you grow up with your grandmother or did you watch it with your grandmother when you were growing up? 3- You just said that out loud. You just. Said that. Out loud. Is that smth you want ppl to know? I think it's fine but I'm shocked you thought so too. (but idk how much to clip) It depends on how the system views itself. I have a friend+ who I consider one unit (therefore "a" friend+) but not one person (hence the "+") & it is in like a billion polyamorous relationships within itself, & is also polyam outwardly. With a lot of ppl it isn't out as a system. It dates outwardly as a unit (I think) but is also in inward relationships as I said. On the other hand, I've seen a system where a fronter is dating a fronter from another system, but the other alters within the system are not dating the other system('s fronter). It really depends. Also, you remember this episode?? & you're defending it so do you actually like it or?

Definitely writes death scenes for all the characters. She probably didn't write it all that night tho... Wow language

This episode is different. I think. Maybe not. I think it's neat how she says detectives ryan & esposito out loud like that. It's different. Wow. Really is an actor huh. Hey yk what good for him get a movie role. Plagiarism? No the mom. Stage left was honestly not a funny.

Costume update: I love castle's jacket Seperately was implied, castle.

The dress. & the shoes. .. Ooh & the purse! Martha already read thru the script?? NO WHO? WHO MARTHA, WHO?

I like seeing the TV soap filming of this. & castle mr big dick moneybags famous writer got them to film it lol. Castle mouthing along. Woah a warrant much? yk that's valid but not a valid reason to kill. Castle it COULD HAVE BEEN HERS you ruthless drama queen.

Costume update: Castle is normal, coat & jacket are two shades of brown (but the jacket also has stripes); ryan is wearing a printed dress shirt, tie, sweater (long sleeved vneck, yk, typical dress sweater), & also has a grey coat; espt has a dark dark violet shirt with a black+purple tie; beckett has a feminine striped jacket. I love when stuff that is traditionally menswear is made into women's clothing. It has that masculine professionalism but that elegant femininity. RC: There are no shortcuts in writing KR: Nope but there is to our favourite bar. I found a new route that will get us to the old haunt in 8 minutes. (to espt) You up for a beer? *claps* Come on, *points to castle* I know the owner. (lol that's adorable & it means they actually attend the bar & he tried to find a shortcut & wants to go out with his coworkers/friends, & the little smiles on all of them) & then their three way fistbump thing (clip)

That's a big envelope. Aw he cares abt her even if he teased her. Ah he got it for her to buy her secrets. Aw that's so sweet, honestly! Also fun fact about beckett she got her tonsils removed. People are out there living without their tonsils or without their appendix. Crazy. Josh <3 Hun answer the phone before he hangs up.

there's just something so painfully delicious about giving into desire but denying yourself the one part of it you want most.

at some point i will write the fic where they don't talk to each other post s2 except to argue and once they reach a certain point they fuck because hey, we're already a mess, how much worse can it get?

aziraphale is starved for pleasure because heaven is sterile and empty, and crowley is desperate for comfort and familiarity, so they each get something vital out of it; it's too good to stop.

but.

crowley does draw one line, one boundary he refuses to cross, and that's kissing. mind you, aziraphale wants to kiss him again and again and again, but crowley knows that once he kisses him again he will lose himself in it (or rather that's what he's scared of). he wants to, god, he wants to. but he doesn't

sex, yes, but nothing soft, nothing truly emotionally intimate. crowley bites back every moan that's suspiciously shaped like aziraphale's name and keeps the angel's mouth busy so he doesn't have to hear him gasp his own. they part immediately after, crowley runs because that's what he is good at, he flees or makes aziraphale leaves, and he hates himself for it a little bit more every time he does.

they don't kiss but every once in a while their faces end up close together, so close they're breathing the same air, and it would barely take a flinch to nudge their lips together. the temptation becomes harder to resist and yet crowley closes his eyes and pulls back without fail.

once they kiss, he thinks, then aziraphale will have everything he wants. once he has everything he wants, he won't come back; they'll be done. every time he repeats it to himself it sounds more like the truth and less like a lie, and someone help him, but he'd rather have scraps and touch and skin on skin than nothing at all.

(while they have their gay little issues going on everyone else solves the apocalypse and watches them from afar like

"someone should tell them they're being idiots"

"nah they wouldn't believe you, they will get there eventually."

"i give them two weeks"

"i give them five days")

(it takes them months but once they get there the wave of relief and release is strong enough to cause a two day blackout in the entire london area)

another b5 thought i will never get out of my head is what Would Have Been if michael o'hare had been able to continue on as sinclair, mostly how catherine sakai was clearly being set up to have anna sheridan's fate. and when i tell you that would have gutted me. i might never have recovered. as it plays out we suffer for sheridan's sake, taking the cue from him seeing how much he mourned his late wife, but if we had known her? after seeing how jeff and catherine had woven in and out of each other's lives but could never let go and finally got it right??? and then we mourn for her with him when he is already holding so much sorrow?? and then?????

I need to shout out the Quotations section on the wiki page for "A Tangled Web" (2x77) because reading through these in order literally feels like experiencing a "Previously on" edit that gets put before a major plot episode:

"Holy Childhood Trauma, Batman!"

Okay, let's get into it. *spoilers ahead*

X-Men '97: Episode 5 - Remember It

So without boring everyone with yet another recap as every nerd fandom outlet has that covered, I want to highlight all the things that really impacted me with this episode.

The animation team, storyboard artists, and directing for this episode.

I love how this series has captured the essence and style of the original 90s series, but has amped up the actions sequences to an 11, 12, 13, or 20! It's been a hot minute since I saw the original series, but I just don't recall many truly badass anime-esque action sequences from the OG series. And while X-Men has always been more of a socio-political and interpersonal drama, it's always cool to see your favorite characters use their powers in unique ways and this was Gambit's episode. I also love the addition of tears in many of the faces of characters during key moments. It's a minor thing, but emphasizing them just shows the gravity of the emotions the characters are facing. Also, special mention to episode 1 as well with Cyclops' intro and the ending battle in the sentinel graveyard. This series is what we all wanted back in the 90s and honestly, I'd be fine if comic book adaptations were more in animation form than live-action. CGI and VFX can be cool, but having characters do insane, gravity defying things like in this episode without looking janky is so awesome.

The usage and variation of the X-Men theme.

In both these scenes (above) the X-Men theme is played, but in vary different ways and I love when a score or soundtrack can enhance the mood of a scene or just help tell a story or convey a mood/emotion. In the first, we see Gambit and Rogue heading into battle and the score is slowed down and just has this serious tone to it. We're not having fun. This is war and we've got our game faces on. The second is the traditional theme and fits the tone as Gambit is just showing off and being a badass. IDK. I'm not a student of music, but I still love this stuff and how even the same music can be varied to convey different moods.

The impact and stakes.

Without getting too political (even though X-Men is all about politics and social issues), it was hard to not feel an extra impact by this episode's destruction of Genosha given the events taking place overseas in Palestine (as well as so many other countries that don't get as much news coverage). Again, trying to keep this to X-Men, but seeing the mass loss of innocent life (even in a cartoon) in such a quick and brutal way just sent my mind there and it was hard to not tear up thinking about the real loss of innocent life in our world (but without superheroes to intervene). Not to mention, I was already prepared for the loss of Gambit thanks to being on the internet and not watching new content the second it drops.

Honestly, this episode felt like an epic finale given the gut punch of emotions, the action, and the destruction. I know there are many theories that this could/will be reversed or altered via time travel, especially with the presence of the Watcher and Cable's attempt to warn his mother, Madelyne Pryor, but narratively I hope we sit with the weight of what happened in this episode. Selfishly, I want it fixed yesterday but I know that if that were to happen it would minimize the stakes and take away from the emotional weight of this episode. Also, the X-women are going through it this season. First, Storm, then Jean, and now Rogue.

The Ending and Saying Goodbye

So, as mentioned above I had Gambit's death spoiled and while I hate that I still wasn't prepared. As I said, I was already dealing with emotions at seeing the destruction of Genosha, but when it came for Gambit's end I was falling down onto the ground even more. Add in the rest of the X-Men at home, only able to watch from TV, devasted and powerless, and then Rogue's emotional (Death of Superman-style) goodbye as the episode faded to black... I still can't watch this scene or think about it without getting emotional all over again.

That said, to all the kids who thought I was lame for picking to play as Gambit on the playground instead of then fan-favorite Wolverine like everyone else, this episode and his epic goodbye was just amazing. I think anyone wanting to do Gambit justice in a film or solo movie/series should watch this episode and take notes. While most of us hope to die peacefully in our sleep at a ripe old age, I think going out like a total badass hero is a close second and Gambit achieved that. I'm sure it'll get fixed eventually, but I think Genosha (when they rebuild) should have the Magneto and Xavier statues back up, but also have a giant one of Gambit as well.

And speaking of Magneto, having him have flashes of his childhood and embracing the Morlocks (especially Leech) at the end was just more piled on emotional damage... and apparently this is just the tip of the iceberg for this season according to the writer/showrunner. I guess the writers know their audience is probably mostly 80s and 90s kids who grew up with Bambi, Land Before Time, NeverEnding Story, Gremlins, and all the other emotionally damaging "kid" content we were exposed to back in the day. Do I need this level of trauma or PTSD as an adult? No. But I'll keep watching.

I have thoughts about this ep...

(It's not good... But not bad)

911's writing of this storyline seems to be teetering in the wrong direction and it may cause a disconnect with some viewers.

Hi! I literally took a nap and woke up with an essay 🙃.

But let's get to the good stuff.

This season has been phenomenal. The acting and writing has all been consistent with the original past 4 seasons. (Season 5 and 6 were good just had a different tone)

This has been due to the show runner returning.

Now that we've gotten all the facts out of the way here's my opinion.

I'll be honest, the twin/lookalike story that came up is causing me to pull away and not in a good way.

If I objectively look at it as a fan this cones out of left field and may intrigue a set of fans. Those fans are likely in the higher age range. (Nothing wrong with it but just an observation)

(i keep up with updates online so it didn't bother me that much)

But for me as I was watching it and the scene came up and then The Grey's Anatomy came up I don't know why but a flash pinged in my brain of this feels like a Telenovela/Soap Opera.

And it is in fact a storyline commonly used or mentioned of the long lost twin or the doppelganger who's back to destroy, seduce, etc. to shake up the main characters life.

I will say that what 9-1-1 has been doing is a good job between toeing the line between supernatural and realistic.

This is leaning a bit to close to the former and can lose some people.

(i will say that this storyline isn't hitting like it usually does the others, even if I wasn't an buddie fan. Hell as an Eddie fan I'm still confused)

The tone of the show this season has been lighter so of course the storylines do reflect that.

My only gripe is what makes 9-1-1 compelling in the first place is the odd fact that the characters don't die and they're realistic (enough) in their cases and drama.

They're gripping enough that they can use these cliches to grip the audience backed by stellar performances and direction.

I just don't like the soap opera-y feeling I got from the trope. (Personal preference what can I say)

Now the next episode will probably expand on this storyline and will cause the conclusion to be touching and heartfelt.

I'm just a bit sour about the lead up to it because it's like oh this woman who looks exactly like my deceased/missing partner appears in the same vicinity as me (despite living in a very big very populated state) so I must get to know her better. I end up throwing away my morals and then something bizarre happens and then something else happens and I find out she's insert - (illusion/twin/stalker/literally anything out of pocket you can think of).

The audience swoons because of course she is (bad/evil/plotting etc).

It's not gripping me.

Emotionally however I'm intrigued how this will eventually effect Christopher as it he sees her he's screwed for life.

In addition to his dad talking to her in the first place, therefore unintentionally enforcing his women all leave/slight lack of respect for their feelings as they're replaceable (she would literally replace his mom in name and face) or disposable (Marisol as the woman left behind).

Yes Eddie's happy but he's also being more reckless than he usually is.

He's always been aiming to find what they had but his actions have implications.

(imma put on my buddie hat for a second this is all/j)

Like how he leaves his son with his dad and goes on a date with another person constantly. 😤 Rude

(no lie they are good coparents though even if they are platonic. They work better than some romantic straight families on tv)

Back to analysis mode though, this action has dangerous implications on both how relationship with Christopher and how he can harm him and eventually how their relationship can decline because of this.

It's not just the disloyalty to both his current partner and son but the example he'll be setting.

Chris probably may end up listening to Buck more as a result because he wouldn't/hasn't hurt him in the way his father currently does with this situation. For relationship advice and such.

Yes it's good drama (in an emotional/analytical sense) I'm just sulky about the telenovela feel of it don't mind me.

I'm positive their performances will make it lean more towards the procedural drama movie feel the show is known for.

Hell this had to happen some day right? The soap operafication of 9-1-1.

Hope is a beautiful ride at least. 🤷🏾‍♀️
