I feel like we don’t talk about how ICONIC the scene of Percy getting claimed is. Like Annabeth being the first one to put the puzzle together and force him into the creek? All the campers watching in astonishment and horror as his wounds stitch themselves together before their eyes!? THE ENTIRE CAMP KNEELING BEFORE THIS CONFUSED 12 YEAR OLD!? Great time to remember that, in the books, Percy didn’t actually come to understand just how terrible the gods are (as a whole) until The Last Olympian. And he didn’t start to get bitter as hell about it until even after that. The show is doing a great job of setting this up, in my opinion.

I was so sad when they cut Luke teaching Percy sword fighting from earlier episodes, one of the main reasons being because it would have meant that they couldn’t reasonably have Luke giving Percy instructions during the Ares fight, but having sword fighting lesson flashbacks during the fight was genius it tied everything together really well and made so much sense considering Luke hasn’t been in a huge portion of the show and your average viewer wouldn’t necessarily recognise his voice
