7-year-old Annabeth refusing to go to bed during her first month in the Athena cabin. Annabeth sitting up in bed, holding a pillow to her chest, as her eyes fill with tears because she's terrified that if she closes them, something will get her. Begging through her tears, asking her new siblings check under the bed to make sure there’s nothing there. Older campers keep trying to reassure her and checking, but she keeps insisting they're doing it wrong. A group of tired Athena campers sneaking out in the dead of night to drag Luke from the Hermes Cabin so he can get her to sleep. 7-year-old Annabeth flinging herself into his arms as she sobs because she's already lost so much, and now she doesn't even have her big brother watching over her.

I don’t know how Disney expects Percy Jackson fans to survive next season. We barely survived episode 5, and now you want us to watch our children go through even more heartbreak? You want me to just sit there as Percy holds Annabeth at the bottom of the ocean? You want me to stare at the screen as a 13-year-old girl sobs about how all she wants is to have something permanent in life? You better include a tissue set with that subscription.

We really aren’t exploring the Perabeth college concept nearly as much as we should be. They finally get to live in peace and enjoy their youth. They can finally go on dates to the local café without the fear of a fight; they can stay up late watching movies instead of staring out the window wondering what’s lurking in the dark; and they can spend the day studying knowing there’s no looming threat of a prophecy. They’ve gone through so much, and they deserve to spend their college days getting to enjoy being young. There's so much fluff potential here and we're ignoring it

To the people saying "Jason wouldn't have jumped into tartarus for Piper, like Percy did for Annabeth" as a way to demean him. Jason, plunged into the sky from the grand canyon to catch Piper in the first few pages of the lost hero without even knowing who she was, and without the knowledge that he could fly. so he basically jumped to his death attempting to catch her. In the first few pages of his journey, he didn't mind dying to save Piper, and ironically, that's also what he did in the last few pages of his journey. Y'all just be making the most out of pocket claims abt jason fr

Annabeth using the nickname “Seaweed Brain” is great on its own, but it’s made so much funnier by the fact that Percy’s nickname for her is “Wise Girl." Like Annabeth’s over her with “You’re a bit of an idiot sometimes,” and all Percy can think up to match the energy is “Well, you’re smart as hell!” He’s really so whipped for her; it’s a miracle he didn’t figure it out sooner.

“Annabeth can be black because it doesn’t influence the story because her race was never important. Her being Black doesn’t change anything about her character.”
What if I said I disagree because Annabeth being Black adds so so much to her character and will probably be so good for young girls tuned into PJO. The whole thing about Black girls being forced to grow up to fast and then criticized in and outside of their community for doing so. That is literally Annabeth’s Chase’s story. She’s 12 and her new bff who is also 12 is having to teach her she’s allowed to be a child and she shouldn’t have to exchange achievements, strength, and authority respect to receive love from the people in her life.

Non Canon Riordanverse friendships I think make sense
#2 Hazel Levesque and Rachel Elizabeth Dare
HAZEL AND RACHEL ARE BESTIES AND YOU CAN’T TELL ME OTHERWISE. I’m obsessed with the idea of Hazel staring in awe at the fact that Rachel just casually doodles on her shoes, pants, and arms (anything she can draw on, honestly), but then Rachel spots her looking and offers her some markers. 10 minutes later, they’re talking about art and how weird it feels to come into the world of demigods with no experience, and the next thing you know, they’re inseparable. Rachel takes Hazel into the city, helps her find funky and colorful modern clothes, and convinces her to watch every Studio Ghibli film. Hazel, in turn, teaches Rachel how to ride horses (I like to think Rachel is slightly scared of them), make your own art supplies using flowers, and cook southern food. They also completely redecorate and paint the oracle cave together so it feels “less like an evil dungeon” and more like a “magical art studio,” aka a less terrifying place for Rachel to suddenly start spewing prophecies. They’re very much a sisters-by-choice duo, and I want to see them interact so badly.

Non Canon Riordanverse friendships I think make sense
#1 Leo Valdez and the Stoll Brothers
You cannot convince me the Stolls didn’t find out about a Hephaestus kid with incredible mechanical skills and fire powers and didn’t immediately roll up like, "Haha, hey bro...” because they absolutely did. They are Chiron’s worst nightmare, but by the gods, they are the life of Camp Half-Blood. At least once every two weeks, they’re sat in the big house getting lectured as Chiron adds more specific things to the extremely long list of camp rules. I’m talking “Absolutely nothing but organic aquatic lifeforms sanctioned by the New York State Department environmental regulations allowed in t̶h̶e̶ ̶c̶a̶n̶o̶e̶ ̶l̶a̶k̶e̶  ANY BODY OF WATER ON THE PROPERTY

Nothing breaks my heart more than the fact that Percy and Annabeth only really got to spend at most 2 months together as a couple before HOO. It makes me sick to imagine both of them racing to camp early in December, giddy with excitement, only for it to be ripped away from them so quickly. They could have been sipping hot chocolate and cuddling under a warm blanket, but they never got that. Can you imagine how Annabeth felt for 8 months? She has been in love with this boy since they were 12 years old, and the moment she finally thinks she can start building something permanent she’s always dreamed of, it's gone. He’s gone. The gods have fucked over a lot of demigods’s lives, but no one more so than Miss Annabeth Chase.

With the casting of season two of PJO coming up, I keep seeing people talk about who they want for certain roles like Tyson, Thalia, Silena, etc., but I think we’re forgetting about the most obvious and important casting decision. By that, I mean I will never be truly happy until Jack Black is cast as Blackjack. I genuinely couldn't care less about the casting; I trust the casting director with my life, but if I don’t get to hear the voice of Jack Black call Walker Scobell "boss,” I don’t think I’ll ever be truly satisfied. If Lin Manuel Miranda can be Hermes, I fully believe we can get Jack Black

I FINALLY FIGURED OUT WHY THE LOST HERO TRIO FEELS SO DISCONNECTED! Okay, stay with me here. In every other book, from the lighting thief onward, the first bonding activity the main quest group does is a mostly unsupervised battle. In the lighting thief it's capture the flag, in sea of monsters it's the chariot races, in the titans curse it’s both the fight against Dr. Thorn and the hunters vs. campers capture the flag, in the battle of the labyrinth it’s the fight against Kelli, all of  TLO is the fighting but the raid of Andromeda in particular, even in The Son of Neptune, we see the group bond over the war games. The Lost Hero doesn’t have a moment like this at all until the final battle. The only similar scene is the fight at the Grand Canyon, but Coach Hedge takes on the role of introducing them to the world of mythology. They end up missing out on the immediate bonding trope, and then we never see all 3 work as a team again until the final fight, which is why I think it’s so hard for them to connect as a team and why it’s so hard for the audience to get invested in the characters.

The Greeks would've easily won the Camp Jupiter vs Camp Half Blood battle. Not because of any logical, strategic reasons though. Its because they're batshit crazy

The Last Olympian: "The gods were glaring at me, but Annabeth had her hands over her mouth. Her eyes were shining. And that kind of made up for it."
The Mark of Athena: "Annabeth didn’t mean to, but she surged forward. Percy rushed toward her at the same time. The crowd tensed. Some reached for swords that weren’t there. Percy threw his arms around her. They kissed, and for a moment nothing else mattered. An asteroid could have hit the planet and wiped out all life, and Annabeth wouldn’t have cared."
Nothing makes me more emotionally unstable than the parallels between these two scenes. It’s insane that no matter how high the stakes are, Percy and Annabeth are always locked into one another's emotions, to the point they both let the entire world fall away just so they can savor the moment with each other.

You will NEVER, and I mean NEVER, catch me defending Fredrick Chase. There is no character I have such hatred for. Because, WHAT DO YOU MEAN, HE LET HIS 7-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER RUN AWAY!? WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE CHASE’S IGNORED THE CRIES OF THEIR DAUGHTER FOR 3 DAYS AS SHE WAS ATTACKED BY SPIDERS!? Not to mention, in The Lightning Thief, Annabeth says that he sent her his ring along with an “apology” 2 years before the book takes place, meaning that man waited 3 years to get into contact with his daughter!! Even after Annabeth goes back with them in TLT, she’s back on the street again by SOM, fighting her way from Virginia to NYC at age 13. Titan’s Curse is the only time he ever does anything for Annabeth, but even then, it’s mentioned that a) She’s been at a boarding school in New York with Thalia for the school year, and b) They’re moving cross-country without taking her into account. I don’t care if they were nice to Percy and the others when they were trying to get to Annabeth. The Chases’s have an obvious and repeated pattern of not caring about Annabeth, and she has every right to hate them. I do want to say, though, that Chiron might not be her biological father, but he is her dad in every way that counts.
