As a Cuban, part of me is really sad about how we have no representation. Like, it’s the biggest island in the Caribbean- a very pretty one at that-, home to like 10 million people and thensome, and a beautiful culture that’s been developing over centuries, and yet there’s somehow nothing.

With that said, I do have some worries about if representation ever happens.

Of course, I would really like representation, but then again, I’m kinda glad we don’t get any for two reasons:

The CountryHuman fans would go feral. Like, Cuba is already known for having really hot people and also our love of parties, but combine that with the fact that the island has had VERY long ties with two of the most shipped nations in the fandom and the artists would be cranking out more content than a textile factory in Victorian London. It would be the perfect storm, and honestly, like 10% of me wants to see the absolute chaos ensuing.

I’d still be really worried though, what with the whole 💗💃🏽government💃🏽💗 thing

So yeah, representation would be super nice, but yknow

i'm basically 100% "fictosexual" (absolutely NOT interested in RL people AT ALL) and reading there's hate against selfshippers makes me scared to admit it. why is there such hate though? selfshipping is the most normal thing in fandom, actually. (i'm also quite old, knowing fandom before it became this mess it currently is, so there's that)

It's considered by some to be "cringe" but I honestly don't get it. Selfshipping is a perfectly normal form of self love, it's not too far removed from having celebrity crushes according to psychology, and it's a useful coping mechanism. And anyone who hates it can stay mad as far as I'm concerned- hell, selfshipping is part of what's kept me sane for the last five years. Some people just want an excuse to be awful, I guess.

I feel like people, including myself, get caught up in a fearful haze of lies on the internet. I may mess up sometimes and contribute to the lies, but I forget I have a choice to turn away or take a moment to gather logic so it makes sense. It's messy, but we always have a chance to clean up our mess. It is important to be aware of certain things, yes, but there's so much fear mongering on here that we won't know what is lying and what is truth. Take a break, please.

Hey guys that last story I wrote please disregard that story because as I have just found out the creator of the request for Gretacard, their tumblr page doesn’t sit right with me like at all. How they constantly talk negatively about LGBTQ+, race, and many other topics that I can’t even list without getting angry.

It is my fault that I did not look more into the background of this person and so I will do what is needed. I am a Bisexual woman and reading some of their posts…like I can’t even begin to tell you all. It is not cool with me and I have said that I will not tolerate any kind of negativity like that so, now that I have this decision I have already blocked the person and I’m going to go ahead and delete that story.

In the very last days of the Before Times, I traded 10% of an audio eidetic memory to another Tumblr user, in return for 10% of an ability to walk around in the dark without bumping into things.

Since then, I do see better in the dark. And although the nature of Tumblr is such that I will almost certainly never encounter this person again, I do think of them from time to time, and wonder if their memory improved.

It’s very strange that in online communities, multiple opinions on something seemingly can’t exist. Having differing ideas is the basis for solid, in-depth discussions. You don’t always have to agree with the same people all the time. It’s okay to think for yourself and have your own preferences.
