Dracula Daily August 8

The wind fell away entirely during the evening, and at midnight there was a dead calm, a sultry heat, and that prevailing intensity which, on the approach of thunder, affects persons of a sensitive nature. I, for one, am a person of sensitive nature, for I love the feel of an approaching thunderstorm Beautifully written post! As for Mina, we’re kindred spirits who venture forth after a storm to see the ocean. On a side note, did not know Drac could turn into a dog. I assumed more along the lines of a wolf but the corespondent didn’t give it a second thought, and a wolf running off a ghost ship would be something to note. So all I can picture is a regular black dog. So now I want Mina to find the count if his dog-form, and keep him as a pet.

I'll sit on Mike for a bit! Billy Crystal's voice is probably responsible for a lot of the coding lol -- I have a few other Disney characters on the bracket atm, so it may come down to spaces for him too.

So... the netflixvania nocturne alleged leaks.. (warning me negatively and incoherently yelling below) (emphasis on incoherently)

First the leaks are not confirmed and i really hope it's just a troll, so while i speak of them as if they were to happen, i cant give a proper critique and hopefully,really hopefully im just being a negative saltshaker and i'll get proven wrong when it releases.

But Jesus

What. The. Fuck.

They had to add "complexity" by including historical events (happening in the other side of the continent mind you bc apparently eastern europe isn't interesting enough for this show ?) bc "the games too simple" :) but they needed to simplify said historical revolution into "white rich men bad" through cucking Richter both in personality and literally (Nevermind that one of the social sectors in favor of the revolution was the bourgeoisie nor that many noblemen were in favour of the revolution and that Richter's fam was hated for centuries until a hundred years ago). I can't say im knowledgeable in history but i feel it's just gonna be added as edgy flavor without nuance, and what else to expect from the writers whose fav excuse for ignoring the game's themes is "oh but those were simple old games with no text".

I can't also wait to see what stale flavor of church bad we will get this time (i need to remind you all that this show got me defensive over the portrayal of christianity n virtue in the games, and this is abt japanese games were you just fucking throw crosses like boomerangs at monsters (as our Lord intended) and with criticism against it too (how many gals got branded as witches and burned again ? ))

And ofc Annette chooses to leave her priviledged guy for...Dracula. the fucking old rich white warlord Dracula, that's very revolutionary, very cool n edgy and not to mention completely in touch with her character in the games /s. It's like the complaints abt the Dracula book adaptations that ruined Jhonnatan's character and made Mina a reincarnation of Drac's wife to justify her wanting to bang her abuser :) . Even if it's used as a way to highlight Drac's manipulations or something similar i doubt it could work.

And then Richter (look at how they massacred my boy) gets corrupted not bc of him fulfilling his destiny and feeling he has no purpose anymore all due to his upbringing, bearing the weight of his family's legacy and the cycles of violence and hatred the whole series is themed after nooo he sad bc he had to kill girl who cucked him :( (It also feels like an attempt to mirror the "my wife died now im bad" Dracula shtick with a Belmont but Lament of Innocence already did this 1420952 times better)

And dont even mention Alucard n Maria fucking like jesus motherfucking christ i get some ppl ship it but it's gonna be ultra gross specially with maria being 17 during SoTN and with the sensitivity this show has treated sex before. Like the one sex scene that isn't rape is gonna be with an underage girl and an adult man with an enormous power imbalance yipee (and also completely ooc to his canon portrayal)

This l is what i mean abt the show portraying an amoral landscape for the sake of coolness and edgyness. It feels like a way to spite the game fans further at the expense of the show (which i hope im wrong at)

It saddens me a lot bc despite my beef with netflixvania it was my introduction to the series and it had many awesome moments, and i was hopeful nocturne would improve upon it's predecessors and make me love it.

Drac will be helping Jack with his Halloween prep and the event this year. There will be a visit to Hotel Transylvania as part of it too! Jack and Drac are very old friends in my canon, even the grim reaper falls under the Pumpkin King. Jack is pretty much THE most influential spooky deity. He’s literally Halloween, after all.

Lachlan; Died during a bar brawl that he got too drunk at, nobody was really surprised the man was known as the family’s loose cannon.

Charlie;  Good ol’ Uncle Charlie, boy was he the life of the party, everyone loved Charlie especially Levi as his uncle always had a story to tell. However when Levi was twelve the man up and vanished, Levi was always told it’s because Charlie was a drifter of sorts off on his next adventure. In reality Jack pleaded with his bother to leave them be, if only so Levi could have a normal life and also so he didn’t get roped into the mans schemes.

Marisol; She had always been the sweet one, youngest of the bunch too, helped take care of the family's mostly legal merchant stand. Although the day she married Arvin that all changed, the man had been a notorious women beater but she was so very much in love with him. Eventually he would commit treason against the crown, causing them to loose both their heads in the end when she was found guilty along with him.

Benjie; Now there’s a man and quite the scamp, another favorite uncle of Levi’s, the man was the twin brother of Tala, both of them going into business together and making their parents merchant business more...lucrative after they and their sister died. In the end though Tala had to break ties and just as her husband pushed away his brother Charlie, she pushed away Benjie.

An Analysis of Castlevania (Netflix)

In response to mean words from a fren.

My dearest Castlevania simps, it is time to rise up.

My friend (who I will be attacking :)) was dissing Castlevania (szns 1-3) after my recent Trevor Badass Belmont post, so now I must indulge myself with a rant on how much I absolutely love this series. This is a five four part thing, sorta long (Sorry? but if you read then you’ll understand why I love it my friend is wrong) it has minor spoilers throughout, but it's been out for a while so, proceed with caution ig.

TL:DR at the bottom folks.

One: The Nostalgia

When I was a (small) kid, my uncle was a senior in high school. (I think, I don’t exactly remember.) He loved video games and he’s part of the reason I love them today. Mostly I only ever watched him play things like Halo, but one day he was playing this 2-D, fight game, killing monsters and kicking butt. (as he described it.) And later he let me take a turn, and I couldn’t exactly tell you I knew what I was doing, but I remember how awesome I felt as some 7 year old kicking vampire arse. Now, I get to see those characters again as a young adult and it brings me back, especially the kicking monster butt parts, which brings me to...

Two: The Fight Scenes

(Light Spoilers) HOLY MOTHER OF GOODNESS, if you would have told 7 year old me, “this is going to be a badass anime one day and you’re going to squeal with excitement,” I would have laughed in your face. But I’m not laughing now. If you’ve watched it then you just know. From Sypha and MAGIC (I stan so hard lemme tell you) And Trevor WITH THE WHIPSSS (Szn 3 Episode 9 THAT SCENE Ashshishgishguhsi) And Alucard WITH MAGIC AND MAGIC SWORD (YES) And just Isaac (Whom we love to hate and hate to love) And all of the Vamps and their kool little fighting quirks. I just love love love how amazing, fast paced, and epic the fight scenes are. And it never felt incorrect. i.e. yeah Cypher uses magic and she always seems to never never run out of stamina, but to me it made sense, she’s trained for her whole life, always on the road and there are times when she does look appropriately winded. @ my friend Or Isaac, he’s powerful yes absolutely, but we still see his human weakness. @ my friend(I think this goes for all humans when compared to the Vamps and Monsters tho...)

Three: The Animation

Can I just say that this is one of the most aesthetically beautiful anime I’ve seen in a while. Like the fight scenes, for instance, when fire engulfs a lot of the screen it looks beautiful. Okay that wasn’t very specific, here, in fight scenes, the lines change. If you look, you’ll notice in intense fight scenes the lines getting harder, intenser I suppose, it therefore adds that intensity. (Especially by season 3.{Szn 3 episode 9, dual whips got me drippin fam XD}) But it was also so smooth and elegant (Hi I really love the fight scenes in this show. :)) On small details: the details in Dracula's castle and Alucard's hold under Gre- that city whose name I cannot spell. Not only that, but the scenery, my particular favorite: When Isaac is ‘forging’ his first set of monsters when he’s out on his own. I’m a sucker for the way from a distance those red flames (flames?) shot up into the sky, it was just *chef’s kiss* in the scenery department, just ahhhh :

Oh, speaking of Isaac, it’s time to get on to important, meatier things...

Four: Characters

First off, the villains/antagonists are not just evil to be evil. (Unless you’re Carmilla... :| ... I mean ig she thinks she’s justified bc hello, she’s fighting for her peoples... and I mean, she’s badass, but I sorta have to side with humans? idk) Big Daddy Baddy Drac isn’t just “I vant to suck your blood,” his pain is real. I mean, losing the only person you ever truly loved? Heartbreak. Isaac and Hector both have totally a plausible and low-key understandable reasons for their actions. Okay it’s not an excuse for their bad behavior, but the way they respond to Drac. And, back to Carmilla, can we just stan the four Queens that rule. The four ruler thing they have going is Genius! It’s brilliant, they share their acquired and unique skills and there’s no mans to ruin plans. @ my friend

Edit: Yo I didn't even touch on our two sibling bastards from szn 3. Lol. They are great manipulators, you can feel the betrayal hurt just as bad. They're the jerks that you LoVE to HATE >:(

And The side characters and minor antagonist give the story life. They aren't just blown off characters who don't promote the plot @ my friend. They add depth, perspective, atmosphere and life into the story. Some may not be particularly necessary, or may not need all the character building they were given, but none of it felt forced. It made sense with the story and the interactions they had with other characters flowed and was natural. Yeah, that was brief, but ya get the point.

And importantly, our protagonists. 

Trevor Belmont, technically the main protagonist and center for the for the entire story. His character instantly pops of the page as a reluctant hero, but one that is so damn good at his job. His emotions are believable, it's fairly easy to sympathize with him and he is a vibrant character that you can easily follow along with. See the badass Belmont post ✨ here ✨

Sypha Belnades has easily become one of my most favorite heroines. Her personality, physicality and entire character are so vivid and colorful. She is a believably strong character who does not deserve the resentment she gets from @ my friend. I admire the steps that her character has gotten to take in the story and I am so excited for more Sypha. Also ✨ M a g i c ✨

Lastly, Alucard, our troubled, half vampire son who deserves the world and a hug. He is introduced as the badass immortal that we love to see, but seeing how he has to deal with well, everything, is why I so love the writers. They gave us a dynamic in which we get to see someone, who at first didn't care or need for interaction with others slowly realize how much he needed it. And you can see the stages of his development through each episode. It's lovely. He also doesn't deserve the hate my friend gives him. Also, ✨ Tiddies ✨ (I'm so sorry omg)

And Extra ! Extra ! they are all attractive, like have you even seen an unattractive face in any of the characters with surplus screen time? Sure they may not be your type (@ my friend) but they each have their good looking qualities.

Five(ish): Dynamics/Relationships

I'm lazy and can't write another paragraph lol, but point is. Everything in the amazing show flows together so well. Nothing feels awkward or forced, and more importantly everything has a cause and effect factor for other things. Maybe not directly, but it's there. And everything will come crashing together soon, can't ya feel it? As for relationships b/t characters, well, what can I say, they work so well, are unakward, and have me begging for more.

TL:DR:

This show is beautiful and amazing, both in animation and writing quality. Characters pop of the screen as do the scenes. Fight scenes = Epic. Villains = Important + Badass. Characters = Relatable. Writing = Good. Scenes = Pretty. Hotel = Trivago.

And I didn't even get into the details. Smh.

Been rather busy lately and haven't been up to posting, but I felt in the mood to share my new Drericka Shipchild OCs:

Meet the Van Dracula Twins, Children of the Night: Lucy and Simon!

Lucy (Short for Lucille) is the oldest of the two by 13 minutes and takes quite a bit after her mother: a Brave, outgoing, and mischievous adventurer who loves exploring and causing trouble but has a heart of gold despite her "Little Terror" rep AND natural theater kid energy. She's also the one of the two to gain fangs and vampire powers: even hypnosis, one Dennis never apparently inherited. The girl takes alot of pride in her family's gothic Horror legacy and considers herself the "ultimate goth girl." "I'm a Dracula AND a Van Helsing living in a castle full of monsters! Ya can't get more goth than that!" She's perhaps the brainier and more acrobatic of the two, cleverly finding ways both into and out of trouble. She also inherited her mother's talent for languages and combines vampire abilities with a natural talent for acrobatics and martial arts.

By contrast, Simon is more like his father: a big shy sensitive but loyal sea-loving cinnamon roll who may struggle a bit to fit in in a family of mostly monsters but push comes to shove will do anything for them. Despite being the more humany cinnamon roll twin, he still has an edge to him. The boy inherited the build of his large Van Helsing ancestors which while making him a bit different and "chubby" looking, he's impressively strong, fast, and durable for his size. He's also inherited his mom's love and skill with weaponry. Along with his father's more pragmatic nature, he's a formidable force to be reckoned with. As he likes to say, "I may be humany, but I can still be scary!"

Together, they're an impressive Pugsley and Wednesday style team!

I was sort of inspired by an RP friend making a girl Drericka OC that ended up being human - which I loved the idea of Drac having a humany lid after the events of HT - and ultimately stumbled into "Well if they becomes more human, why not go the Normal!Pubert route?" Another inspiration was @lovelylivelyv 's Jack Nephalem, which looking at him for a while also provided the idea since he's partly based on Pubert. for Lucy, we never really saw a FEMALE dhampir in the series and I liked the idea of going the other way from Dennis and Simon and making a more goth character. I also kinda took inspiration from him in Lucy's brave Troublemaker-with-a-heart-of gold personality. Along with making Simon more a cinnamon roll than his parents (Though Dennis and Mavis was also an inspiration.)

In a way, they're sort of inverses of their parents: Drac is a Slytherin with Hufflepuff traits, Ericka is a Slytherin with Gryffindor traits. Lucy is a Gryff with Slyth traits, while Simon is a Puff with Slyth traits. The idea being since the twins had a much better life than their parents, growing up in a loving family and world with less hate between humans and monsters, they haven't had to rely as much on their cunning or be pressured into following tradition as much. (Plus it's fun to make them different from their parents. Especially Lucy. Drac having to deal with a kid who's a bit more like Johnny than him is kinda funny. As is Ericka having a badass yet shy and sweet kid, it brings out her soft side.)

Visually, Simon is based on Pugsley and Normal!Pubert from Addams Family Values while Lucy is sort of a mix of Ericka, Drac, and Mavis. I named Lucy after the Dracula book character (the woman who Dracula attacks and turns into a vampire. Kind of in the same vein as Johnny being named after Johnathan Harker.) Simon on the other hand, is named both after Simon Van Helsing, an early iteration of Johnny as a vampire hunter that falls in love with Mavis (possibly an inspiration for Ericka down the line, knowing the HT team's penchant for re-using unused material later) and the monster hunter from Castlevania.

Bonus: The Twins' birthdate is Friday Oct 13, 2023. It was too perfect an opportunity to pass up. XD

Kinda ironic how his dad’s whole carrier was built off of the happiness of children, yet his own kid was neglected and unhappy 💔

He likes to have attention on himself, since he never got it from his dad but also cause he has NPD (Narcissistic personality disorder), he has low empathy bc of this but jusy because he has a hard time understanding and relating to his pals’ feelies doesn’t mean he’s like... a bad person.

Anyways his whole thing is that he’s the stereotypical bully character cause he’s. Incredibly jealous of Diamond. He’s really bad at it tho

Yes he gets better and becomes a friend after befriending DJ but shh

He spends a shit ton of time after school at his dad’s Benson Bear’s locations, in fact he often helps his dad and the employees with stuff like cleaning the animatronics and spraying down the tables. Free labor

His main friend group consists of him, Jasper, Holly and Matthew, he’s had a bunch of other pals in the past but they’ve all lost touch, wether they moved or they just stopped talking. Crusty didn’t deserve what happened to him.

So we watched (nay, Experienced) the BBC/Netflix Dracula series

Brought to us by everyone’s favourite team, Steve Moff and Mark Gatiss, promising to be an innovative and exciting new vision of the classic novel

Boy it was definitely something!!!

First I will say: obviously Moff is not my favourite TV writer and my fam and I did go into this with a bias. I’m happy to report, though, that it’s going to be one of these shows that haunts me forever, because if it had just been bad I could have said “bleh” and deleted it from my brain. But because parts of this were genuinely cool, interesting, and fun, and parts of it genuinely had potential, all the bits that were bad stand out as so much worse and the whole thing feels as cursed as a 500 year old undead count. 

Things that were enjoyable and well put-together:

Van Helsing has been gender-swapped into a vampire-hunting nun and her cat-and-mouse game with Dracula is rife with belligerent sexual tension. I was ready to hate this, and ready for like, Sherlock and Irene Adler 2.0, but their dynamic was actually pretty fun to watch! Their power balance is kept even throughout most of the show, and Helsing is never struck down because of ~womanly failings~ or infantilised. She’s consistently really clever and, even if there are some cringey one-liners, I found her and Draccy’s playful quest to murder each other one of the most fun parts of the show. It could’ve been better, but it was enjoyable! (I also like how Helsing isn’t Young and Hot, but is a capable older lady, and her actor and Draccy’s even seem about the same age. Amazing)

The second episode is a spooky murder mystery/horror mini-movie on a ship, with a cast full of interesting characters who all had different things going on and different relationship dynamics that were compelling to watch. There’s even an interracial gay couple! And they’re like, written pretty sympathetically and to be layered and flawed in ways that didn’t feel too stereotypical! And they don’t die first!! Wack! I understand the bar is on the ground, but it’s still worth a mention

Some fun with vampire lore: Draccy absorbs knowledge and traits from people he drinks blood from (which is how he learns languages. Get Duolingo, dude, stop eating people), leading to the intriguing suggestion that myths like “vampires will die in sunlight” and “vampires are afraid of holy symbols” have kinda become real to him even if they don’t literally work, because he’s swallowed so many people to whom these superstitions and beliefs were law. I’m sure this isn’t the first time this has been done, but groundbreaking or no it was kinda neat

Things that were not enjoyable and well put-together:

EVERYTHING ELSE

Episode 1: a weird speedrun of most of the original novel, feat. weaponised nuns and a weird fixation on whether or not Jonathan Harker and Draccy boned. They did not. Dracula pops out of the body of a wolf and he’s Whole Ass Naked. Him and Van Helsing have a power play where she stands just on the threshold of a convent and calls him a little bitch, knowing he can’t come and get her. A knife is licked. 

Episode 2: aforementioned cool ship horror story. Definitely the best ep. It really makes me think about hbomb’s critique that Moff is pretty good at doing standalone stories (and pilots), but when things are tied into a bigger narrative things get zonkers. 

Episode 3: Things Get Zonkers!!

Let me just. Okay. I have the most to say about this one because this is where things really got batshit. And yet, also really boring? How does that figure? Anyway:

Dracula emerges from under the sea and finds that 123 years have passed and he’s now the star of a Modern AU. Upon setting foot on British sand he is immediately accosted by what appears to be an anti-vampire task force. There’s a helicopter. It is later explained how they knew to pounce on him at this exact moment, but holy god it was wild to watch the entire British Secret Service descend on this one wet bastard in a suit

The editing shifts aggressively in the direction of Sherlock. Mark Gattis is there playing an amazingly annoying character. There’s a fuckign.... Underground Secret Society devoted to studying vampires and they put Drac in a Designated Glass Prison for Smug Geniuses (also as seen in Sherlock). Van Helsing is dead but her great-great-grand-niece is played by the same actress and. Okay. Van Helsing, vampire hunting nun, possesses her descendent and rises through the ether to roast Drac one last time, and he’s DELIGHTED TO SEE HER AGAIN. 

And she has cancer, right, so her blood is poisonous when Draccy tries to bite her, but in the end, right, the end of the episode, right, the final shots of the show, he comes to a place where he’s willing to die, and she’s already dying, and so he drinks her blood and they die together on a table while cinematic metaphor vision shows them having sex in the middle of the sun

There was a badly CGI-ed vampire baby. Jonathan Harker falls from a tower and a scene later they flash back to this event by reversing the footage of him falling down, meaning we just see him go VWOOP up through the air, bouncing off the wall on the way. Van Helsing says the words “come boy, suckle” when she’s goading Drac into drinking her blood. The show sits in a weird middle ground where the characters talk about sex a lot (”dID yOu HaVe sExUaL iNterCOURSE with COUNT DRACULA?”) and Drac is clearly meant to be super magnetic and sexy but the characterisation and cinematography is not horny at all. People have these sexy-type dreams of their lover of choice when Drac is drinking their blood but even those are very boring and weirdly chaste, except of course for the final one where, if I  can take the chance to remind you, Van Helsing and Dracula have symbolic Mind Palace sex inside the centre of the solar system

I can’t speak too much on its quality as an adaptation since I actually haven’t read the book, but splitting the story so that some characters (the Harkers, Van Helsing) existed in the time the story is set, and some (Lucy, Dr Seward) exist in The Modern AU felt very strange. Was there any reason to set the third episode in modern times, apart from the fact that I guess they wanted to do their Sherlock thing again? Or, perhaps, because they wanted to do their Jekyll thing again?? Oh my god, that’s what the editing reminds me of - the small clips of Jekyll I’ve seen. The zooming. The slow-mo. The emphasis on The Monster Man’s weird goddamn teeth

(Also, I don’t really feel qualified to dig too deep into it, but I will say there felt something a bit uncomfortable about Lucy being black in this version, while also being written to be very promiscuous and vain. idk. Also, since it happened in an ep of Sherlock as well, “weedy white Nice Boy rescues the Very Cool woman of colour he has a tragically unrequited crush on” is now an official Moffattis trope)

Count Moffatula is an experience. Its pacing is buck wild. The speeding through the original plot and the mish-mashing of elements in the Modern AU section feels like another expression of contempt for the source material on Moff’s part. Someone says “reality is overrated” in a show set in the 1890s. Draccy quotes a Beatles song. He also makes quippy allusions to having eaten various famous figures and basically winks at the camera every time. Granted, this wasn’t as obnoxious as I was maybe expecting, but there are still too many lines of dialogue where you think “oh, the writers high-fived each other after they wrote that one, huh”. The fact that Moff has such vitriol against fan fic writers is more and more grating every day because this is so, so clearly a zany-ass fanfic that he happens to be getting paid for. The costumes are nowhere near as nice as they could have been, and Dracula’s cape looks like his mum made it for him for the school play in which he is playing Dracula. 

This show is So Much. Watch it to share in this fever dream. Or don’t, and save approximately 5 hours of your life. God. 5 hours. Who was I before Count Maffatula. Who am I now. Why was his cape so bloody ugly. Why did they bone in the centre of the sun

Drabble: Meeting Parents...again

Famine pulled at the handcuffs around her wrist. She was in an interrogation room, waiting for her parents to be escorted by Dexter. She gave the handcuffs another tug and groaned. The pounding in her head was getting worse and she probably was making it worse by refusing to eat the food the guards gave her. 

The door opened, making Famine jump slightly. She watched as Dexter led her parents in. They looked the same as the day Famine had run away, Hair was a little shorter but they were what Famine remembered. She narrowed her eyes at her parents. 

Her mom’s smile dropped when she saw her daughter handcuffed to the table, glaring at her and her husband” Oh my, Emily” she hurried around the table and hugged Famine. Or tried to. 

As soon as Famine felt  her mom’s arms going around her shoulders, she jerked away” Don’t fuckin’ touch me!” she hissed through her teeth, moving to the end of the chain tethering her to the table. If that wasn’t holding her, she would have been on the other side of the room. 

“Language young lady!” her mother snapped and grabbed Famine’s arm. Looking at the tattoo on her wrist. It was the scales the Third rider of the Apocalypse carried. ”Why do you have this?”

“It matches my name.” Famine told her, trying to pull her hand away but her mom held on tight. 

“How does that fit Emily?” Her dad asked.

“Famine! My name is Famine!” SHe snapped

 “Why  did you pick THAT name? It’s so horrible.” Her mom gasped and put her hand over her heart. “That's the name I wanted.” Famine told them. 

Her parents shared a look as Famine tugged at the cuffs again. Dexter stepped forward and spoke up” Her and her friends have formed a band called The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.” He was there in case he needed to restrain Famine if she lashed out at her parents. 

Famine smirked a bit after hearing her bands name.

“The Four Horse- oh my,.”Her mom looked at Famine”  You’re the singer I hope. You always enjoyed being in choir.” 

“No” Famine said flatly” I’m the drummer.”

“But you don’-” Her dad started but was cut off by Famine. “I learned how” She got to her feet. Glaring at Dexter who took a step forward” I am not  that stupid teenager you can just throw into re-ed when I do something you didn’t fuckin’ like” “Emily st-” Her mom tried. “No! Emily is dead. At least the Emily you used to know. I’m Famine now. You can’t accept that then fuck you.”  SHe jumped when she saw Dexter move closer to her” I’m not doing anything.” 

“Sit down” Dexter told her firmly, his hand resting on his gun. In case he needed to stun her if she kept with the attitude. 

Fam eyed the Exxie’s gun but stayed on her feet,”Gonna shoot me for standing asshole?”

“Emily...just listen to him. Please.” Her mom pleaded, reaching for her daughter’s arm  but stopped when Famine jerked away and sat down. 

Dexter took his hand off his gun”Stand up again and I won’t give you a warning.” Famine shifted in her seat and glared at the three in front of her. 

Her mother looked at Dexter” Would re-education be the best option for her?” 

“It’s not my area of expertise but I feel it might help her.” Dexter answered. 

She looked at her daughter and sighed”  Yes, it is the best thing. Then she can start a new life in the city.” “Fuck! NO!” Famine said firmly.

Dexter gave her a look then led her parents to his office to talk over options. 

A couple of Dracs came to take Famine back to her cell.

MLB AU where the entire class knows that Marinette and Adrien are superheroes, including them, but it’s an unspoken rule to not talk about it and to cover for them. Then Lila comes. At first, they ignore her once they figure out that she’s lying, but then she goes too far. The class teams up to BRING HER DOWN, using their connections (CROSSOVERS!) and their smarts. Lila never saw them coming. The end result? Lila destroyed, and the class gets a lot closer.
