- The Corruption

- the bastard that made me start this whole thing (wanted to make The Stinky Trash Bastard Man, Stinky Trash Bastard Man Squared and it sorta just went from there)

- known as The Duke of The Crawling Rot

- raided the magnus institute with Jane Prentiss (where he meets Logan, they probably start dating sometime in the AU) (both Remus and Prentiss wore raggedy red dresses and Roman got pissy about Remus stealing his color)

- dating Janus and living with him + Annabelle Cane (more on her later)

Roman:

- The Desolation

- known as The Prince of Total Desolation/The Prince of Devastation

- was The Lightless Flame’s attempt to salvage the idea of having a Messiah and all the work that was put into that (a failed attempt at that)

- a lot of “he hurts everyone close to him because of the intensity of his love for them (“also he can’t touch anyone without burning them alive)” going on with him

- him and Jude Perry are lesbian/gay hostility (also Jude pretty much HATES Roman because he’s quite literally the “replacement” for the woman she loved) but sometimes have their moments of coexistence

- him and Virgil have something going on but it isn’t clear to anyone (including me) what exactly it is

speaking of…

Virgil:

- The Dark

- it was close between The Dark and The End but ultimately I went for The Dark

- ascended to Avatar-hood earliest out of everyone else (at like something between 14-17 idk)

- much more on the human-ish end of the spectrum (main thing is his eyes, i’ll drop the design soon i promise)

- Janus (who’ll i get to next) was like a mentor/older sibling figure for him, and tried to get him to become an avatar of The Web (is still trying to do so) which is why 1) Virgil is still closely tied to spiders, and 2) mostly why Virgil Does Not Like Janus

- Virgil still has a pet tarantula that Janus had given him, he’s tried to muster up the will to kill her or get rid of her more times than he can count now, to cut off his ties with The Web, but he just can’t bring himself to do it

- him and gerry (who i’ve decided doesn’t die in this au and instead becomes a fully realized Beholding Avatar) are close friends and most of their interactions go something like:

“You fell in love with the fucking personification of insanity and lies" "big talk for a guy with a crush on the biggest bitch of a fancy dumpster fire" "fuck you" "fuck you" "so you're trying to tell me you didn't name yourself after gerard way?" "i didnt" "bullshit, i bet you heard 'mama' and immediately took his name" (gerry’s trans in this, i make the rules)

- Virgil used to be friends with Julia Montauk before someone got jealous and tipped her off that Virgil’s an avatar (they get less toxic later i promise okay?)

- also he’s sorta friends with oliver banks, they have these “oh hey, it’s you” acquaintances and sometimes sit down to catch up like:

“how’s it going with your vast boyfriend? (mike crew)” “oh yeah a Hunter cop shot him he had to pretend to be dead while Buried for a bit but he’s doing better now, tea?” “how’s your bf in the red?” “my what.” “y’know the Lightless Flame’s Messiah 2.0?” “MOTHERFUCKING ROMAN??”

Janus:

- The Web

- okay yes The Spiral is literally the fear of deception, and yes Janus is literally called “Deceit” but this fits him better imo

- he/she Janus because fuck it

- as i said, tried to get Virgil to become a Web Avatar, still trying, how well this is working out for her is up for debate

- he is pulling all the strings possible to keep Virgil far away from The People’s Church of The Divine Host as possible (whether this is out of genuine care and fear for how being in a literal cult would affect Virgil’s wellbeing or a want to keep Virgil’s connection to The Dark as possible… that’s also up for debate)

- has severe scarring on the entire right side of her face, how did that happen? basically, Mary Keay wanted to test to make sure the Leitner skin book was real, so she hired janus (who also brought Virgil, and that’s how gerry and Virgil met) to help with that, long story short, she then backstabbed him and tried to skin him alive. janus got away but let’s just say she’s pretty damn lucky Virgil was there to get him to a hospital

- dating Remus (and eventually Logan) and lives with Remus + Annabelle Cane

- Speaking of Annabelle Cane, one day while Remus and Janus were just cuddling on the couch, Annabelle just walked in, said “We’re a colony now”, and set up in the spare bedroom s5 style and Janus + Remus were just like “oh-kay?” and went on with their day

- if you’ve ever seen that one “passive aggressive roommate” song on youtube, that’s Janus and Annabelle. both are the passive aggressive roommate.

- spider limbs from his back as well as the several hands thing because why the hell not, it works

Patton:

- The Eye

- mainly the being judged/having your secrets exposed aspects (because in sander sides he is literally the judge over thomas’ morality, his job is to watch over thomas’ actions and tell him whether or not he’s a good person)

- certain people make eye contact with with him and Know that he Knows all the bad things they’ve done, and feel the compulsion to spill their guts, once they start, they cannot stop no matter how hard they try

- after the fact, his victims find a teddy bear sitting on their bed that always seems to be Watching them no matter where they go

- works at The Magnus Institute, where he meets Logan, who, during his transition to becoming an avatar, was one of his biggest supports, since he was going through the same thing, they start dating after a while, and by the time of the Prentiss + Remus attack, they’re engaged (they both fully ascend only a few months after their wedding)

- [insert patton having a moral crisis because he doesn’t want to be a monster that feeds off of people’s fear but he has to and part of him likes it wow this is reminding me of a certain other Beholding Avatar]

- idk how it happens but he still becomes a father figure for Virgil somehow, i’ll figure out specifics eventually

Logan:

- The Vast

- while i absolutely love Beholding!Logan hear me out. the fear of insignificance works so well here.

- he started working at The Magnus Institute a year or two before Patton (and five or six years before the Prentiss + Remus attack)

- i cannot overstate how everyone in the au thinks he’s Beholding: Jon thinks he’s Beholding, Gertrude thought he was Beholding, Gerry, who canonically has an ability to tell if people are marked by an avatar and who, for the purposes of this au is an avatar of The Eye, thinks he’s Beholding, motherfucking Elias/Jonah thinks he’s Beholding, Virgil, Janus, Annabelle, everyone thinks he’s Beholding EXCEPT Remus, who just knows for some reason (at one point when Patton and Logan got engaged Remus was like “damn patton you’re so committed to the eye, wouldn’t have figured you’d marry a vast avatar.” “a what”)

- to be fair, he was like 0.5 seconds away from becoming an Eye Avatar then BOOM BITCH VAST JUMPSCARE (The Eye is immensely bitter) and is partially Eye-aligned

- when Patton and Logan started dating, Logan just kinda assumed that Patton knew he was a Vast avatar

- after Patton learns, the convo goes something like “but- you work with the institute? how are you an avatar of the vast?” “i still need to eat, patton, and rent in central london is not cheap.”“huh.”

- Logan has a tie that Patton got him after learning he was a Vast avatar, the tie has a blue sky that fades into a deeper blue at the top, has some clouds and birds scattered around, and has a colorful sunset at the bottom, he wore that to their wedding and every day after

- there is healthy communication between all parties when Logan starts dating Remus and Janus as well

- probably levitates elias/jonah over the edge of a building for threatening/traumatizing Patton at some point, Elias had no clue that Logan was a Vast avatar until that moment (self-made blind spot, like the one he had around Martin being a threat)

- Jon and Logan would be friends. they just would.

- Logan’s probably the one who convinces Virgil to go to therapy

1. Find an idea

I usually get my ideas from tiktoks or some songs.

I kinda try to fit the song to the character I want in it lmao

2. Download the audio

I’m an android phone user so downloading stuff is really easily.

I usually use YTMP3.com to download my stuff

there is a lot of websites with that link but l usually pick the second or first one

Then insert the audio in Alight Motion. I use Alight Motion a lot since there’s a lot of choices there.

Also I use the APK version so I don’t have to pay for premium features. ALSO THIS IS ON MY PHONE. I use an Ipad to draw….

3. (Optional) Storyboarding

GUYS TBH IN MY ANIMATICS I DON’T STORYBOARD

EVERYTHING IN MY ANIMATICS, I LITERALLY JUST WING IT LMAOOO

The only animatic I did need to storyboard was Floyd’s little minecraft song angst video LMAOOO:

a lot of people happen to storyboard their animatics so they have a plan but i literally storyboard in my head and if i think it looks good, i just put it in 😭😭😭

I literally have to go on my old tablet to fetch some of my old content here

4. START DRAWING

In my drawing process, it’s kinda easy unless I’m using a bunch of colors.

I also try to change the styles up so you can differeniate the animatics from eachother like how in Jade’s Laufey video, the colors are warm and soon turn pale and cold. And in the To Love a Boy, it’s like pt 2 of Jade’s Laufey video but in MC’s perspective and in which the MC does not return his feelings so the colors aren’t warm as Jade’s perspective.

And then in Azul’s Laufey video, the appearance and color palette’s looks very sweet and valentiney since it’s in the MC’s perspective on having a FAT FUCKING CRUSH on Azul

Epel was the hardest because during that time, I was not that active on TikTok and school took my time so it took a lot of time to gain back the motivation and finish it

ALSO, i literally draw on my Ipad now and I send the pictures to my phone to edit them so it’s an annoying process since I DON’T WANNA PAY FOR ALIGHT MOTION WHEN I CAN GET IT FOR FREE

BUT YOU KNOW WHAT TOOK ME A YEAR?? My “I Wanna Be a Princess!” MUSIC VIDEO… it’s not animatic but that took like a year to finish because I forgot about it but I did so well on it.

AND YOU CAN TELL HOW LONG IT TOOK BECAUSE THE MC APPEARANCE ALREADY CHANGED

5. Editing

Okay, I’m so happy that I actually got into editing for a bit because my videos would’ve looked so trash bro

LMSOOO but editing animatics aren’t really that hard unless you’re going for a specific transition or movement

I guess the transition that pissed me off the most were the ones in Jade’s Laufey video when it switches from warm to cold and Epel’s MLP video where it switches from silly to dark.

My editing process isn’t that unique. I just insert the song, move the pictures, and done 😭😭😭

6. Touch-ups

Touch-ups include subtitles, effects, filters, etc

I don’t really use filters for my animatics unless i’m going for something

BUT SUBTITLES?? yeah I use them a lot lmao

But also trying to fit the subtitles with the animatic is hard bc IDK WHAT TO GO FOR so i literally pull them out my ass

When we see Richie getting attacked in the cold open, he's facing the audience; when it happens again (haha whoops) he's facing away from the audience & we get to see his attacker. idk man I just think the change in perspective is rad lol

Richie and Ruth taking the stage first for "High School Is Killing Me" because they're the ones who... y'know. (rip 💀)

when that first curtain thing lifts and reveals the rest of the stage 👌🏻

when Steph is trying to get Pete to help her cheat on the test the spotlight on them also lights up Grace before she butts in and gets them in trouble (foreLIGHTENing eh? eh?)

the rotating nerd huddle in "Literal Monster" brings me so much joy like Yes, put those nerds on a giant Lazy Susan and watch 'em go

the nerds sneaking along in the background when Max is singing

the bit with Miss Tessberger (sp?) leaving and returning to the stage from the opposite side

just everything about Pete & Steph's phone call. everything.

the stage going almost completely dark at the end of "Cool As I Think I Am" is fucking epic ok it's such a cool transition. also Max's "I bring light to darkness" and the lighting changes for that. they're both so cool

the bathtub prop. it just looks like it was fun to make. :)

when Steph is talking to Ruth & Richie and then she just turns and they're sneaking into the bathroom. it's like a movie transition in my brain. (also Mariah's little jump like she's trying to look into a stall is adorable)

NERDY PRUDES GOING TO THE WAYLON (sp?) PLACE MY BELOVED 💙 1. walking around the orchestra pit is cool & it's a fun, slightly-more-distanced throwback to when they walk thru the audience in TGWDLM & BF; 2. cool blue lighting + silhouettes, need I say more; 3. the tattered background descending as they walk is fucking magical

it's technically not part of the show at all but i have to give a shoutout to the person near the camera who goes "oh? oh?" when Pete & Steph exchange their cute lil looks in the Waylon House 😂

Richie moving behind the tattered curtains with the camera. also I know it isn't visible but the knowledge that the skele'on costume glows in the dark gives me life. (and Steph giving Ruth a thumbs-up when she's scaring Max??? adorable)

when Grace is talking to Detective Shapiro I love how gray the stage goes, especially after how colorful the BBQ monologue was, like ugh <3 it makes it feel more serious and important like shit's about to get real (it is)

Officer Bailey (I think that's his name? i do not trust my ears) just angrily moving the chairs after Grace steals his gun and escapes custody 😂

the white lights & fog during the slow-mo bullet scene idk it just makes it for me

It wasn’t a big deal, in fact, it was such a minor incident in the grand scheme of things. Who doesn't get a bit of alcohol on them when they’re at a party? It’s such a common thing that you don’t even notice it most of the time - only realizing when you’re home and showering how sticky your clothes had gotten.

But that wasn’t the case tonight. No, the beer that was now making your thin white shirt stick to your chest was the straw that broke the camel’s back tonight. Shoving your boyfriend off of you, you stomped to the bathroom, ignoring the queue that had built up and going straight in.

Jisung was so fucking annoying tonight. From the moment the two of you walked into the house party, he had been attached at your hip, literally. He had laced his arm around yours, hovering as you did anything - poured drinks, socialized, even followed you to the bathroom at one point in the night. You couldn’t get rid of him, even for a second, so it wasn’t too surprising that when someone bumped into him, he spilt his drink on you because he was still right fucking there.

You tried to pad the carmel colored liquid out of your shirt with hand soap and water, ignoring the knocks on the door from angry party goers. They’d have to get the fuck over it - you weren’t leaving this bathroom until your shirt was somewhat dry.

“Baby?” Jisung yelled over the music on the other side of the door. “It’s me, can I-“

“No.” You snapped, grabbing more toilet paper to clean your shirt. “Just give me a minute, Ji.”

“Do you need help? I can get some bleach or something to try and-“

“No. I don’t need help.”

“Are you sure? Because I can help if-“

You swung the door open, letting it bounce against the wall as you grabbed your boyfriend by the shirt, dragging him to the closet nearby. Shoving him inside of it, you slammed the door shut behind you, thanking whoever designed this house that there was a lock on the door.

“Why are you so fucking needy tonight?” You snapped at him, faces close together in the tight space. “You have been all over me all fucking night, and ruined my shirt because of it.”

Your eyes had adjusted to the darkness enough to see the way Jisung pouted, lip trembling as he spoke. “Just wanna be near you. To touch you-“

You wonder if he saw the way you rolled your eyes. You hoped he did. “What? You can’t even go a few hours without having your hands on me?”

Jisung shook his head, hands finding your hips as he pulled you close to him. He buried his head in your neck, whining as he rutted his bulge against your stomach. “No. Can’t. Feel how hard I am? Just wanna touch you.”

Moving your head to the side, you let him bury his head into your neck more. Jisung began to pepper kisses on your skin, whispering apologizes as he kept grinding on you. You almost felt bad for him; so fucking needy, so fucking whiny.

But he was also so fucking annoying.

You moved his head out of your neck and forced him onto his knees. “Fine.” Quickly shedding your panties and jeans, you leaned against the wall of the closet, grabbing his hair and tugging it hard, Jisung’s loud moans filling the small space. “Make me cum before I change my mind.”

first off i am SO fucking pumped up about the nimona movie this is doing things to my middle school heart you have no idea <3 <3 <3 they're definitely branding it in the area of that kind of edgy but family friendly movie vibe that's been popular with certain projects lately (low key some parts of the trailer were giving me mitchells versus the machines while others were giving me the same energy as the bad guys, which is an interesting mix imo they're both good animated movies from the recent past but at the same time they're both tonally different in many ways not to mention very different tonally from the original nimona comic imo) and basically where i'm going with this is i hope they keep the original tone of the comic. the graphic novel does a really great job of shifting between lighthearted comedy and the complex emotions of the characters really well, especially with the twist at the end where we find out that nimona has been lying about her past the entire time (OGH that ending is SO GOOD it gives me chills just remembering the panel where we find out the story about the dragonslayer going after the shapeshifter and the rumors that the shapeshifter TOOK THE DRAGONSLAYERS PLACE??? AUGH those panels are burned into my mind forever). basically i am a little worried because of the marketing that they might soften the darkness associated with nimona's past/backstory or even change it entirely, but of course that's all speculation bc they could literally just be doing what the comic did which was market itself as really upbeat and silly modern fairytale twist and then turn around and make everything really fucking dark as the novel approaches the end of the second act and the beginning of the first act.

also when it comes to the character designs i am OBSESSED with blackheart and goldenloin the designs are SO!!!! not to mention the setting itself, they're definitely leaning into the futuristic aspect but i hope they keep a lot of the down to earth fantasy elements from the comic as well, i feel like nate did a really great job creating a world that is such a unique blend of ren fair fantasy tropes (for lack of a better term) and magical high tech inventions and it's something that i really hope doesn't get lost in the translation to the screen. obviously i can imagine that the show-y-ness of a cyberpunk-esque world is very visually appealing and also probably pretty fun to animate but i'm hoping they're teasing a lot of those dystopian sci fi visuals for the trailer because they get ppls attention and then they bring in a similar mix of the ren fair fantasy elements from the comic.

i hope they maintain nimona's whole gender vibe as the same sort of fluid energy that i got from her in the book, idk if it was just me but nimona reads as not only gnc but as a very nonbinary/genderfluid character and i always thought it was really cool how ready she was to shapeshift to different gender presentations in the comic.

this is more just on the curious musings side but i also wonder if they'll do the little bit where she dyes her hair purple?? its such a weird little moment in the comic i could see them deciding not to put it on screen but i think it'd be a cute nod to the book. or maybe they do a little bit of dialogue where she mentions to blackheart that she's thinking about changing her hair color and mentions purple, it'd just be cute i think <3

uhhh yeah i guess my biggest wonder about the movie rn is just how dark they're willing to take it, tonally? because the book gets DARK and ofc it's also aimed kinda at middle grade, just like the movie is, but what's allowed in middle grade books is very different from what's marketable in a middle grade family friend film. i really do hope they do the whole dark underbelly of the kingdom reveal, though, and the second act arc where nimona's true violent and chaotic nature starts to spiral out of ballister's control, and of course the unethical experimentation and the legend of the shapeshifter and nimona's entire story to ballister being a lie.....

AUGH i am going to get so emotional about this movie but yeah <3

spidey wy au is still mostly in my head because I need to understand how I want to bring it to life, what tropes to include, how long to make it. but the general idea is one that I love!!! wylan here is spiderman and jesper has a crush on his best friend (wylan) and on spiderman (still wylan)! im very fond of this au and I love wylan's spider design + he is a drummer, a science genius, an artist and stuff and jesper is literally head over heels for him (but he also Loves spiderman's thighs and ass in his suit, and this is basically what kick-started this au) buuuut I'm still processing whether to make it action-based (which would be harder), with a thick plot, enemies, fights, etc, or chiller and more focused on their everyday life, with jesper finding out wylan and spiderman are the same person and having a stroke over it

angeldemon au is a wesper prequel to a kanej prompted au, and I think it's going to be a long one shot with lots of flirty, mischievous wylan making trouble, pining!jesper that immediately falls in love but he is also torn bc angels and demons here usually don't interact and he feels bad for doing so (much like in the kanej au) it's like.. annoyances at first sight (for wylan) vs love at first sight (for jesper)

Wylan here looks angel-like through and through: he is dressed in white and splotches of sky-blue that matches the color of his eyes, all lace and ribbons and see-through shirts that send Jesper insane. He tries not to hover on the expanse of smooth skin visible from his fucking transparent clothes, and settles instead on Wylan's legs.

"We don't dress like this," he says on a panicked whimper, darting his eyes back to Wylan's face before he starts drooling. Wylan laughs loud and clear.

"Must have overdone a little, but I liked to dress up for once."

"Where's your…?" Jesper points his chin towards Wylan's head: his copper-golden curls are surrounded by a white halo that makes his features all the more beautiful. And there's no trace of his big, red horns.

Wylan's brows snap up, and he laughs again. "We shapeshift, feather, did you forget? If you try hard enough, you might grow a pair as well."

Jesper flushes all over, thanking the Saints for his dark skin that doesn't show his blush — but that's futile, because he probably looks all flustered all the same.

"You should change into something more adequate, though," he mumbles.

"I must admit I'm surprised you're not wearing your white silks and lace," Wylan says. Jesper wants to whimper, still pretty distracted by the amount of skin showing under the demon's thin clothes. And his naked legs. And the way his eyes shine with a glint of mischief that makes him all the more alluring.

"We haven't worn that stuff in centuries. We are modern now," he proudly says, tilting his chin up. Wylan's stare stays unchanged, serious as Jesper remembered. It makes Jesper squirm a bit, uneasy under the intensity of his eyes.

they should have killed off bard. i love him he’s one of my favorite characters but i’m tired of the manga not having any REAL stakes. either that or i’ve just been watching too much attack on titan/game of thrones recently. but idk killing off bard would have been ROUGH like woah, that’s a key piece to o!ciels success just gone. it would have balanced out the ‘win’ that o!ciel got with meyrin and ran mao

But the best part is a classic party game called canibal. Basically, an adult dressed in black chases you around a vast, dark place at night (usually some park. with a lot more obstacles tho. Brazil is wack) while you try to perform tasks. Usually, you have to collect colors n stuff, but sometimes it's just running for your life. Last person standing wins. The games with younger kids usually have a chant that "scares away" the person chasing you, but beyond the age of 6 it's run or get caught.

I think i have some pretty simples ones all things considered? And they’re all pretty fluid/all exist at the same time but for these

Chosen: made with they/them in mind -> experiemented with she/they/he -> had a crisis abt it -> she/her at the end

Dark: started we they/he -> she/they at the end

This isn’t really a queer headcanon (maybe?) but i do think theyre soulmates in a “whatever souls are made of, yours and mine are the same (insult)”, which is probably the closest thing i have to a queer headcanon LDNWOODOW.

I typically use they/them when discussing them in general tho!

-i know the popular theory is that its bcs chosen’s a virus (considering she was beaten by an antivirus in ava 2 + in a way so is tdl and tsc) but idk, they were made by alan (maybe tsc is a virus but thats a theory for another time), but i also like to think its more that chosen knew about victim in some like, unfathomable way?

Headcanon 2: Chosen is the tragedy of a stick born without love

-Chosen’s creation was definitely intentional, while Second’s wasn’t. Why are they so different? Its not like second got that much love either initially, but they did manage to get some free time.

i'm actually very pleasantly surprised. largely the stuff that is bad is stuff i expected and a lot of things are much better than i expected so like helleth yes we win

they did largely forget one piece is a comedy which i literally voiced as a worry out loud with my human mouth like an hour before i started watching. pain.

the design is largely extremely good. the costumes fuck every single time. cgi looks better than expected so i'm pretty pleased.

that said. the fishmen look like fucking dogshit i cannot take them seriously. i appreciate that they're using practical effects but my god they're so so so bad just for the fishmen.

on the other hand. enamored with the dendenmushi. they're real and they're vile and i want one soooooo bad

also why did we need two goddamn episodes for syrup village. that seems excessive. i feel like they could have cut things differently and ended up with more time for like. actual adaptation stuff.

dialogue sucks shit also the worst element of the show is by far the writing where like the plot is fine the way they rearranged things doesn't bother me if i wanted the exact story in order i'd read it again but the actual lines they write are mostly so stupid bad and generic. every so often they hit on a good one but it's generally lifted straight from the manga.

they didn't even get gold roger's speech right. he didn't say he left it all in one piece. that's the fucking. it's the whole thing of it innit.

currently reading: not in the middle of anything right this moment (im usually not i read books all at once pretty much lol) but the last thing i read was either medea or twelfth night can't remember and the next thing is going to be one of the Multiple books i bought 3 months ago on a trip that i still havent gotten around to (so either litcrit about medieval lit, litcrit on race in crime fiction, or uh. gideon the ninth. LMAO) i tend to prefer nonfiction esp since most of it is nonfiction. about fiction. so i use the works referenced as a reading list LOL

favorite color: TOO HARD TO CHOOSE i like color schemes more than individual colors tbh. big fan of dark red, forest green, and turquoise (with a dark brown as the neutral to balance it out mmm) so ill just say that so i dont spend 4 hours looking at swatches LOL

last movie i watched: dungeons and dragons over a month ago (for someone who went to film school i Do Not watch movies very often. LMAO) despite watching it in an EXTREMELY TOO LOUD THEATER after taking an edible after a 2 month break (aka i was like O_O the entire fucking time), i had a Very good time. it's a peak 7/10 film. like ok it's not a 10/10 but it doesn't need to be and frankly shouldn't be. the platonic ideal of "they did absolutely everything they needed to do with this and not a sliver more" if that makes sense. also it's made for the chris pine girlies of 2013 (aka me) so im contractually obligated to enjoy it

sweet vs spicy vs savory: yeah kinda silly question agree lmfao savory i guess?? i like sweets but my tolerance for them is soooooo low/i get nauseous easily (the only exception to that is ice cream) + i like spicy stuff but i have to be in the mood for it too. i'll literally never be unhappy with something savory so.

currently working on: arguably like 4 different things because i'm still learning how best to manage my time without punishing myself lmfao the last thing i Literally Worked On was a scene for a far future chapter of foyf because i had an idea for how i wanted it to play out/i've had a lot of luck figuring out plot details by putting like. keyframes down basically. and filling in the middle bits. otherwise its that + Basically A Self-Guided Graduate Thesis (my house of anubis video essay series that's already unspeakably long and i haven't even taken notes on s3 yet.) + career-related writing portfolio bc im getting some ✨rejections✨ + director's cut of my capstone film from a couple years ago because she is. rough :) i'm very good at deciding to do something for Enjoyment and then stressing myself out for NO reason :)

Coconut Mall Jazz Arrangement by insaneintherainmusic - 'ya like jazz~?' yeah i fcking love jazz. as a classical clarinetist (non-professional lol) who's nearest attempt at jazz was w the clarinet introduction in Rhapsody in Blue i have so much respect for jazz musicians. If jazz ever had a human form I'd simp the hell out of them. it's such a beautiful genre of music and modern music def needs to give it more credit bc w/o it we wouldn't have a lot of music we have today. sorry that was a terrible sentence but god i love jazz. it's like eating an awesome 7-layer dip. i fucking love 7-layer dips. I recommend everyone to watch 1959, the Year that Changed Jazz , awesome documentary.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo - Such an adorable kdrama. While I don't think it's the BEST representation of autism for the Korean audience, I do think it's a fairly good step in the right direction! I rlly like how Woo solves each case with a creative way, which is my primary reason as of why I enjoy the show. But I think it's also worth mentioning the impact it has on Korean society. As a Korean person who often spends a lot of time on Korean media, I've read, heard, and watched stories about how EAW actually has increased prejudice against autistic ppl in some ways. The drama promotes the misconception that an autistic person must be good/genius at something, and when such a misconception is corrected by an autistic person or a person who cares for an autistic person, ppl get disappointed. Many Korean primary/secondary school students have also pointed out how their friends have started using 'Woo Young Woo' as a mocking nickname for ppl who may not necessarily fit in with the crowd, autistic or not. The drama has also encouraged young ppl to act like the autistic protagonist, which often turns into a display of mockery against autistic ppl. Although the drama does break the stereotype that autistic ppl are intellectually/emotionally inferior to neurotypical ppl, it also indirectly encourages ppl to exotify and, to a certain extent, fetishize autistic ppl. That being said I think that EAW does have great potential for future kdramas to include more positive, nuanced, and accurate representation of autism.
