Keep the Peace - THE 100 REWRITE Chapter Twenty-One
[THE 100 MASTERLIST]
Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
Summary: Michelle had to rest after the head trauma she suffered when she and Bellamy tried to rescue Clarke after risking both of their lives. She would be fine but there was something brewing ever since Pike joined the people of the Ark in Camp Jaha. And after an explotion occured at Mount Weather, to whom Bellamy’s loyalty belonged was put in question.

The whole trip back to Arkadia had been a pain for Michelle. The swirls of the car on the forest roads made her even sicker and sicker than she already was due to the acute vertigo and migraine from the head trauma. At one point they had to stop the car because she was moaning so much. She had gotten so nauseous that the moment Kane opened the door, and she stuck her head out, she threw up but again, it was only bile and it felt like fire went through her throat. He gave her several sips of water from a canteen as they continued the road and she lay down, resting her head on Kane's leg. Driving in Arkadia, He carefully hoped out the rover and was met by Abby on his way to the infirmary of the camp where he went straight to put his daughter on the nearest bed available. The car ride really took a toll on her, and she was unable to respond to Abby as she examined her but the state in which she was in gave the doctor and Chancellor enough information on how bad the injury might be, though she later determined it was only a mild concussion, which was already enough to make her sick for days. She told Kane to stand aside as Jackson joined to assist her. They slowly sit her up and Jackson placed his hand on both side of her temples to stabilize her head and keep it aligned with her spine and prevent movement while Abby firmly pressed a clean cloth on the wound. It had stopped bleeding by now, meaning it had already started to coagulate, which was good news but it still required to be cleaned and bandaged and so she did. She then covered the wound with a piece of gauze and wrapped her head before resting her on the pillow. Without even flinching, Michelle swallowed the medicine which was put on her tongue and eventually fell asleep, the last image before she closed her eyes was of her father sitting beside the bed, running his hand worriedly over his beard.
The next 48 hours, Abby came in to check on her every hour or so, but Jackson stayed in the infirmary to always have an eye on her, cleaning her head injury about three times a day and changing the bandage. The pain killers she got every now and then helped her not to be in so much pain and really calmed down the migraine. She didn’t have to stay in bed all day but because every time she tried to stand up and take a few steps, she was seized with dizziness which forced her to sit down again so it really narrowed down the options of what she was able to do. Like Abby told her, after a whole week most of the symptoms should have resolved on their own and it did, except for the migraine which came back every now and then especially when triggered by loud noises or vertigo if she moved her head too suddenly but thanks to supplies taken from Mount Weather, she was able to get pain killers when it was too much to bear.
“It’s been a week. How are you feeling today?” Abby came into the infirmary and walked up to her, pulling a chair next to Michelle’s bed. She got up to sit in her bed, placing her pillow behind her back for support. She didn’t have her head bandaged anymore since the wound had scabbed for a few days already.
“Just a headache when I woke up, but Jackson gave me painkillers. Now it’s fine.” The Chancellor turned her head towards her and held a small flashlight to her eyes to check her reaction and sensitivity to bright light. Michelle barely squinted her eyes. She then had her lean her head forward to clean the scab that formed over her head wound. It was mostly healed by now, but she still had to be careful so that it didn’t start bleeding again if she scratched it off. Abby got her to stand up and walk around a bit. No vertigo to report. This was a good sign that things were going the right way. She sat back down on her bed and Kane arrived at the same moment that she started asking about the Summit they were supposed to attend at Polis City with the 12 other clans and the Commander.
“You’re not coming.” He straight up said, his arms crossed.
“Didn’t expect you would let me anyway.”
“I sent Bellamy to Mount Weather, so he’s not coming either. But you, will stay in Arkadia, and you will not leave campgrounds. What you did the other week was stupid and reckless. I had asked you to be careful and you left with him without telling anyone. You both could have been killed.”
“I am sorry, okay?” She apologized, frowning. Now that she was better, his worry was overpowered by his need to scold her and act like the parent he should have been in her life and no matter how much she deserved it, she didn’t like to be addressed like a child. It was her decision to go with Bellamy and it was to look for Clarke, so she wasn’t actually that sorry, though she understood the stupidity of it. That was that kind of interaction that harmed her relationship with her mother, prior to her getting sent to solitary confinement for an entire year. Michelle stood up after taking an antibiotic and painkiller and Abby stopped her before she walked out. She still wasn’t allowed to take part in any activity that required effort and be careful not to touch her injury so it wouldn't bleed again. Even though in the past few days, she had had to stay within the walls of the infirmary for obvious reasons, she felt like she had been grounded ever since her return to Arkadia, a camp she still couldn't call home.
Tumblr media
Michelle had taken care of doing what she could, chores here and there to help out among little trips to the infirmary when she got dizzy but knowing on the one hand her dad and Abby in Polis and her friends in Mount Weather were enough to keep her mind busy for the day. In the evening, she wandered around the camp, taking deep breaths of the fresh air. The weather was good, and the mood was calm and relaxing until the sound of an explosion in the distance disrupted everything. Given where the sound came from, it didn't take her more than a couple seconds to realize that it had occurred in Mount Weather, where she knew her, friends were, which immediately worried her. She watched the smoke rise above the treetops with wide eyes. Unable to go to bed, she stood pacing near the station entrance, watching for the camp gate until she saw a car drive in in the middle of the night and she ran to the hangar. Her father, Abby, Bellamy, and the others came out. She tried going up to Bellamy, but he walked past her and left. He seemed out of it.
“Dad, what-- what happened? What was the explosion earlier? Where are the others? Is Bellamy okay? What—" She was so confused and worried she couldn’t stop asking questions. He grabbed her shoulders.
“The Ice Nation blew up Mount Weather. Gina died in the attack.” It was the only piece of information she needed. She rushed to catch up with Bellamy who was walking down a hallway towards his bedroom. It was late and a lot had happened, so she understood he probably needed to be alone right now, but she had to check on him. He didn't even turn when he heard hurried footsteps coming from behind him, until she called his name. Then he stopped and looked at her before avoiding her gaze. She could see the neon light above them reflect the tears that made his eyes glisten.
“Bellamy, I’m sorry.” He knew what she was apologizing for and just looked down. She had never been close friends with Gina, because she was the girlfriend he got after they had gotten close and she pushed him away, but she would never have wished something like this to happen to her. She was a nice person who didn’t deserve to die. For some reason, Michelle drew Bellamy into a hug, and he wrapped his arms around her after a second. Acting tough wasn’t everything, he needed to be comforted too. They spent the night sitting on the floor next to each other in his room, not really talking or saying anything, just keeping each other company so neither of them would be alone. She saw him let his guards down and be vulnerable in front of her. The events at Mount Weather had really taken a toll on him and she had never seen him so bummed about something before, only when Clarke had left them.  After a while, they fell asleep, their heads resting on the bed behind them, their foreheads pressing against each other. This was the kind of intimate moment that they hadn’t shared in forever and Michelle realized how much she had missed it. She was quite unsettled by the resurgence of her feelings for Bellamy, not knowing what to do about it since the death of his girlfriend had just happened and she would hate herself if she tried getting with him just yet. She would deal with all this later, right now she just wanted to be there.
            Shortly after the sun finally rose outside, the rays entered the room and illuminated Michelle's face. She placed her hand over her eyes and rolled onto her back, when she realized that she was lying on the bed. At first without straightening up she raised her head and looked around in confusion and finally sat up seeing Bellamy standing near the table. He looked away, looking preoccupied. She was already over the fact that he woke up first and carried her on the bed, which somehow warmed her heart and wasn’t surprised by the expression on his face as he observed his Ark guard’s jacket hanging from the coat rack on the wall, near the door. He was as silent as last night, and it took her a minute to understand what was going on in his head. Because of what happened, he wanted to resign.
“Whatever happened… it wasn’t your fault, Bellamy.” She finally broke the silence. Hearing his name spoken outloud, he turned his head to her, looking back at her. It was clear that he disagreed with what she said, but it was true, what happened to Gina was beyond his control. She was at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
“I could’ve done something. I should’ve stayed.”
“Stayed where? At Mount Weather? But weren’t you there when it blew up?” She tried to ask a couple questions, to get him to tell her what actually happened because all she knew was that Mount Weather blew up and Gina died, but she didn’t know the details. Her questions remained unanswered as he grabbed his jacket and walked out of the room. Michelle jumped out of bed and followed suit. He wasn’t any more talkative in the corridors. She kept asking him where he was going and suddenly step in front of him to stop him in his tracks, grabbing his arms. Quickly, he finally loosened his tongue and told her the whole story. How a Grounder he was locked up with came back and told them about a trap at the Summit and that he then decided to leave with the others, leaving Gina behind at Mount Weather, where she was murdered before the whole facility exploded. There was a second of silence and she let her hands slide off his arms, nodding. Repeating that he didn’t need to blame himself for this was pointless, as he truly believed it was his fault.
           A man guarded the entrance. Inside, Kane and Abby were in a private meeting, probably assessing their next move regarding what happened. The door eventually opened, and the two young adults found themselves facing Pike who looked at them before leaving. They stepped in the room, watching Abby walk to the opposite side while Kane was leaning on the table, thinking.
“Sir?” Bellamy quietly called out to Kane. The latter straightened up on his stool and glanced at them, joining his hands in front of him. It took him a couple glances to notice his daughter standing next to him. She could tell he was wondering what they were doing together.
“Why aren’t you at your post?” He asked in a low voice, with a sigh. Bellamy put his jacket on the table and pushed it further away. “Don’t do this.”
“Forty-nine of the people I swore to protect died yesterday because I left them.”
“That’s not your fault, Bellamy.” Kane turned to face him. “Place the blame where it belongs. On the Ice Nation.”
“The Ice Nation didn’t tell Gina to stay there.” He paused, taking a shaky breath. “That was me.”
“Given the information you had at the time, you made a reasonable choice.” Kane stood up, placing a hand that was meant to be comforting on his shoulder. From the side, Michelle could see the pain and guilt that made his eyes shine in the faint glow of the light. “You were trying to save lives.”
“But I didn’t.” He looked away with a heavy sigh, his eyes getting watery as he tried to fight tears. He didn’t say anything else, maybe if he knew that if he did, he would have started crying, and instead just turned around and left. Michelle went to grab his arm as he walked past her, but she stopped herself and crossed her arms. She sighed, closing her eyes.
Tumblr media
“All that’s certain is that we die. How we die is up to us.” Pike declared, standing before them as they all sat on chairs set in rows in the hangar. On Pike’s left side, Abby and Kane were sat together. They were all gathered here, attending a memorial for the ones that died in the explosition at Mount Weather. Michelle was next to Bellamy in the back row, sat straight back in her chair, fiddling with her fingers, eyes glued to her hands, her loose black hair falling in front of her face. She wasn’t good with feelings like sadness and grief and hated the heavy atmosphere that hung over them. It kept reminding her of the loss of her mother and she wanted to run away from it but there she was, stuck in this room and it would be disrespectful of her to just leave out of the blue. She wanted to be present, out of respect for the victims, but especially to show up for Bellamy, but she didn't feel able to look at the people around her. She didn't want to see the pain in their eyes. The former Earth skills teacher asked who wanted to speak for one of the girls that died in the attack and a man walked up to him after a moment of silence.
“Iris was strong. Good with a knife. She saved my life. I’m just sorry I couldn’t do the same for her.” He gave a sudden jerk with the knife in his hand to pull out the blade and put it down on a small piece of furniture nearby, before returning to his seat.
“We will miss Iris.” Pike resumed. “May we meet again.”
“May we meet again.” Everyone spoke in unison, with Michelle barely letting a whisper leave her lips. She hated that her grief made it all about her mother for her, and anything to do with loss and grief reminded her that she never had the chance to say goodbye to her mother and she never would. Neither would she ever see her again in this life. But it wasn’t what this memorial was about, and she refused to let herself cry over it while being surrounded by all those people. She never even told Bellamy about her feelings on this subject, despite pushing him to talk about what happened to his girlfriend.
“Who will speak for Gina Martin?” Michelle raised her head for the first time in the whole service and looked at Bellamy. He glanced at her and She risked giving him a small comforting smile and although he didn't return it before getting up, she knew he appreciated her support. Their relationship had been on and off those past few months, but they had never stopped being friends. He walked up to Pike, holding the book The Iliad in his hands. This time around, Michelle looked at him as he spoke, and he often met and held her gaze. Maybe he really felt her support, she didn’t know.
“Gina was real. She always saw the light, even here. She deserved better.” He went to put down the book when doors opened, and a bunch of Ark guards entered. Everyone straightened up in their chairs, looking at the soldiers and whispering to each other. Michelle noticed Pike talking to one of them, and she saw Lincoln alone. She followed Pike with her eyes as he walked to Kane and Abby. Seeing his lips moving as he leaned towards them slightly, she frowned. His voice began to rose.
“You gave a Grounder one of our radios?” Everyone in the audience stood up and the whispers became much louder.
“Sir, are we under attack?” Hannah enquired.
“No, we are not under attack.” Kane declared. “Their commander sent a peacekeeping force. To ensure that we can defend against any further attacks from the Ice Nation.”
“Peacekeeping force?” Pike was clearly not having it. “Even you can’t be that naïve, Marcus.”
“Watch your tone. You’re talking to the next Chancellor.” Abby chimed in, before addressing the crowd. “We’re all grieving. This has been hard on all of us. But we can’t let anger drive our policy.”
“Anger is our policy.” Michelle frowned even more at his aggressive response. His hatred for Grounders made him so biased and he really thought he was in the right. He rose his voice louder and talked to the people of the Ark present here. “If they’re here to defend us, as you say, then tell them to go home. We can defend ourselves!”
“Yeah!” Some of them began agreeing with Pike. Michelle looked around and exited the crowd through the left side to go to his father and Abby when a man dressed in the clothes of an Ark guard pointed at Lincoln in the back.
“You. You don’t belong here.”
“He’s one of them.” Said another man.
“My boy is dead!” A dude yelled and a stone was thrown at Lincoln, hitting him in the head with a thud. He groaned at the blow, and it quickly turned to chaos with some people trying to come at the grounder and others pushing them off. Bellamy ran through the mob to keep people from getting close to Lincoln. Kane ordered to arrest them and separated one of the many fights happenings when Pike let out a shrill whistle and things finally went to a halt.
“We do not attack our own!” He pressed each one of his words. “Fighting each other only makes us weak. The enemy is not in this camp. The enemy is out there.”
Michelle hated how everyone started listening to Pike suddenly, just because he was loud and strong with his words. She could tell he was going to cause troubles for all of them, especially those who weren’t pitting themselves up against the Grounders, like herself or her father. She looked at the people in the room and her eyes set on Bellamy and she wondered if that man would manage to get in his head, one way or another. It made her grind her teeth to think of Bellamy siding with Pike but when later that day, she saw the two men having a drink. She was sitting at a table in the corner of the room, having a drink on her own since without Clarke or even Murphy, well if she wasn’t hanging out with Bellamy, she really had no other friends. And Monty was nowhere to be seen anyway so she didn’t bother to look for him much. She couldn’t hear their conversation from where she was, but she watched them from the corner of her eyes. She noticed Monty’s mother at a table next to Pike and Bellamy’s and the woman was discreetly looking at them too, but Michelle wasn’t too sure if the latter wanted Pike to get the young man on their side. She didn’t know her too well, so she had no idea what was going on in her head. But to be safe, she preferred to assume the worst and to think that all the people from the Farm station were with Pike, and against her dad, and by association, against her.
When she saw Bellamy look around and the people from Farm Station that were there all gave him a glance, a glance full of the hatred for Grounders that they witnessed earlier, she understood that her assumption was in fact right. Sometimes being safe is being right and in that case she was. She didn’t like what was brewing. For some reason, and she wasn’t even a Grounder, so she wasn’t the group’s main target, but she started feeling unsafe and quite uncomfortable at that. She wished she could hear what they were saying so she could report it to Kane and Abby, but she at least knew that they were preparing something and trying to get Bellamy in on it with them, so that was already something, but she chose to wait a bit longer and see what more she could learn by just watching them from afar. The second she saw Bellamy give a nod to Pike, she knew whatever game they were all playing, it was over. For the Grounders at the very least, but also for anyone siding with them. She bitterly gulped down a last shot of alcohol and, grabbing her jacket lying on the seat next to her, she walked away as she put it back on. Not knowing where her dather would be as of now, her best guess was either the meeting room that she visited earlier with Bellamy or his own room, but she didn’t even remember where the latter was so she had to hope he and Abby would both be there. She had no idea where else they could be anyway.
After a dozen minutes just wandering around, she ran into Harper, and she grasped the chance. She wasn’t surprised at all to hear Michelle’s thoughts on the situation they had with Pike. It was already late, the sky was dark, and the two girls went to Lincoln and along with Zoe, they stood in the dark of the main gate, and it didn’t take very long for the group of wannabe vigilantes to come to them. When they noticed the four individuals, they stopped, and Bellamy walked up to them with a stern look on his face. He looked at all of them without moving his head, his eyes lingering for a little longer on Michelle. He was frowning.
“You need to step aside, right now.” He warned.
“What are the guns for?” Michelle asked after exchanging a glance with Harper. They knew very well what the guns were for, and Bellamy wasn’t so stupid either.
“There’s an army out there. And we need to hit them before they hit us.” As they spoke, Pike and the others slowly advanced towards them.
“That army was sent to protect us.” Lincoln said.
“Do we have a problem?” Pike asked this in such a way it sounded way more like a threat than a question.
“No.”
“I have always done what is best for us. I need you to trust that I am doing that now.” He glanced at Zoe in the back, and she subtly nodded before stepping away. Michelle frowned, taking a step towards him. Bellamy then looked at Harper and as if she understood his motivation, she nodded and apologized to Lincoln before leaving in turn. There was only Michelle left by his side, and she wasn’t about to walk away as well. She chewed nervously on the inside of her cheek, and she looked at Bellamy, trying to knock some sense into him before it was too late, even though she knew damn well that it was in fact too late. He would stand his grounds and side with Pike still, and he would realize only too late how far he went because he believed in the wrong person. Pike was loud and aggressive but that didn’t make him any less of a snake. Now she knew why she disliked him so much as a teacher on the Ark. He was never a good or a nice man.
“Bellamy.” Her tone of voice was soft. She was trying to do something pointless, but she still tried. And if she wasn’t on Pike’s bad side already, she would be now. “You’re not thinking this through. You can’t let Pike get in your head like this with all his Grounder hatred bullshit, come on. They’re not out there to kill us.”
“I am thinking this through, Michelle.” He came closer to her, and his brows relaxed but not hers. He spoke with determination to convince her this was the right thing to do. “I’m doing this for all of us. We have to hit before they hit us. Trust me on this.”
She looked away for a second. She wanted to believe him but with Pike in the mix, she just couldn’t, and it was tearing her heart apart to have to doubt Bellamy’s intentions but on this one, she couldn’t risk being on the wrong side. And she couldn’t be on the same side as Pike because it would always be the wrong one. She hated that Bellamy let himself be manipulated like this. She still believed there was a way to get him back on the right track, but she just couldn’t support him this time. She shook her head and looked back at him.
“You can’t just go out there to kill 300 people. They’re here to protect us.”
“They’re Grounders.”
“So were your fucking ancestors, Pike.” She spat vehemently, giving him a death stare.
“Watch your tone. You wouldn’t talk to your mother like this.”
“Don’t you talk about my mother.” She angrily rose her voice at Pike, suddenly walking towards him but she was stopped mid-way by Bellamy who grabbed her arms and moved her back in front of him. Pike obviously kept his composure and just looked at them. She hated how vicious he was, mentioning her mother like this, to try and get to her emotionally and he almost did get something out of her, but Bellamy prevented that. If she was alone, she would have bursted out in tears but her voice barely broke when she talked back to him.
“Let us pass.” Bellamy asked her, almost whispering. For a second, she got lost in his eyes, but this was nothing like the intimate and priviledged moments they had once shared. They were surrounded by Pike’s minions. She made a pout, shaking her head again as she pushed his hands away and stepped back next to Lincoln, staring at Bellamy. He seemed disappointed by her reaction, probably hoping she wouldn’t fight him, but he wasn’t Clarke, and the latter was the only one she would blindly follow.
“I can’t.” Bellamy let his arms hang at his sides and they held each other's gaze.
“Lincoln, you wanna prove you’re one of us, let us pass.” Pike spoke to the Grounder.
“I’m not moving.” One of Pike’s men suddenly aimed at him, urging him to get out of the way and Lincoln subtly pushed Michelle behind him as he grabbed the gun and made the man lose his balance, holding his knife up to the latter’s throat, backing away. Being behind him, Michelle was kind of stuck there, having to step back as well. The rest of Pike’s men brandished their guns. Bellamy told them to put the guns down and Pike encouraged them to listen to him.
“So much for the good Grounder.” Monty’s mother noted.
“Quiet, Hannah.” Michelle now stood aside, still not about to leave. “Whose people are you defending here, Lincoln?”
“Lincoln, put down the knife. No one has to get hurt here.” Bellamy added.
“I can’t let you start a war.”
“We’re already at war.”
“Not with the Grounders out there.” Michelle argued.
“They’re all Grounders.”
“This is so stupid… They’re not all Ice Nation. We’re not at war with them.”
“Neither of you can stop this.” She stared back at Bellamy, letting out a quiet but heavy sigh. Shaking her head in disbelief, not taking her eyes off him, she mouthed his name but not a sound came out of her lips, and she hated that she could see in his eyes that he wasn’t sorry for any of this. He truly thought he was doing the right thing here. The PA system in the camp went off and screeched for a second before a voice came on.
“All unstationed security personnel report at the main gate.” He repeated the message a couple of times as a buzzing sound sounded in the background. Octavia appeared in their sight and ran towards Lincoln.
“What’s wrong with you?” Bellamy closed his eyes and looked at his sister. A second later a bunch of Arkadia guards arrived with their guns. Michelle saw her father walking in their direction among the soldiers. She could’ve searched for him longer but when earlier she came across Harper, she didn’t waste any more time. They had gone straight to Lincoln. As Kane came closer, Pike asked his people to put their guns on the ground.
“Lincoln, it’s all right. Let him go.” At Kane’s words, he released the man who threatened him. The future chancellor and his daughter exchanged a quiet glance.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Abby enquired.
“What you didn’t have the guts to do.”
“Did you arm these people?” Kane headed towards Bellamy. He didn’t even answer but his silence alone was enough for him to understand.
“Guards take them to lock up now.” They were quickly all arrested as she told everyone else to go back to their quarters. It was late and there was nothing else to see here. “It’s over.”
“Nothing is over.” Pike exclaimed. “We are surrounded by warriors who want us dead.
“That’s enough!” Kane spoke up.
“No, it isn’t. Not even close. Why don’t you show us all what you let the Grounders do to you yesterday? Come on, Kane. I think that the people who are about to vote for you have a right to know.” Michelle frowned, having no idea what he was talking about. She got closer to Abby and her dad. He looked around him as people asked him to show them whatever it was. He lifted his sleeve and showed the crowd a red mark on his arm.
“It’s the mark of the Commander’s coalition. It means we are the 13th clan. It means we are in this fight together.”
“No. It’s what farmers used to do to their livestock.”
“Right before the slaughterhouse.” Hannah shouted, trying to entice the crowd into siding with them. And people started to be for Pike going as far as to tell him to be on the ballot for tomorrow’s election. Michelle turned around when she heard Bellamy chanting Pike’s name, followed by every single one of those who had been arrested, and a lot of people in the crowd. This felt like a nightmare. She stepped next to her father, and he put a hand on her shoulder out of habit. He, Abby, and Michelle looked at each other, worried and dumbfounded by the situation.
“I tried to talk him out of it.” She said quietly, looking at them walk away.
“You did what you could.” He gently squeezed her shoulder, unable to take his eyes off the people still chanting Pike’s name like a bunch of brainwashed people. Things were only about to get worse now that Pike convinced others to be with him. There was a risk he could be elected the next day and with him at the head of the whole group, it would be war against any Grounder in sight.
Tumblr media
The next day, with barely a few hours of sleep as she was unable to get any rest, Michelle attended the election held outside in the camp and and Pike quickly received a majority of the votes. They couldn’t believe it. Once it was over, her father and two guards headed towards the prison wing of the ring. She followed them and hid behind the walls to let them pass without being seen and, to keep a certain distance. She followed them until they got to the portion of the corridor that went straight to the cell door. She stopped behind a corner and even though she wished she could be closer, it should be enough for her to hear them talk. If she tried to approach, it wouldn’t be the guards or Kane who would notice her, it would be the prisoners and she would be spotted by everyone anyway because if Pike saw her lurking around the corner, he would never keep his mouth shut. He knew she was out of reach for his manipulation tricks. She would never talk with him. He was only going there to tell Pike of his win at the election, but she still wasn’t supposed to be following him when he had asked her not to, though he knew she wasn’t always listening to him. She went ahead with following him because she was fully aware he wouldn’t get mad at her for something like this. He had other things to be uspet about anyway.
Kane pressed on the panel next to the door, unlocking the door before walking in. Everyone inside stood up. He walked up to Pike.
“Congratulations, Mr. Chancellor.”
“Where’s Abby?”
“Wishes she could be here.” He handed him the Chancellor pin. “The vote wasn’t close. Our people are now your responsibility, Charles. I hope you take that seriously.”
“Thank you, Marcus. I certainly intend to. For my first official action as Chancellor, I pardon myself and the others. For my second official action, I reject the brand that made us the 13th clan. For my third, let’s finish what we started.” Michelle felt a knot in her stomach just hearing this and she rested her head against the corner with a sigh, not caring if she was seen anymore. She crossed her arms and watched the people walk out of the cell, keeping her eyes on her father as he stopped Bellamy before he left. He spoke to him in a whisper so she couldn’t hear but the expression on Bellamy’s face as he walked past him. He noticed Michelle standing there and gave her a brief look but there was nothing there, no compassion, nothing. It was just the dark brown of his eyes looking at her like they were enemies.

Heyyy can u plz write a season one Bellamy blake x reader griffin/Kane SMUT where they are enemies and leaders of the 100 but don't see eye to eye on anything but have too much sexual tension and attraction towards each other and decide to give into their desire for one night cause they think if they screw each other they get their attraction out of their system?
Invisible String [B.B]
Tumblr media
summary: hating him was easier than loving him. especially when clarke went through so much trouble to keep them away from each other. but for some reason, her attraction to him was much larger than her dignity
pairings: bellamy blake x caroline griffin (oc) a/n: the oc has no description, so feel free to imagine whoever you wish, I just write better when the main character has a name
tags: (18+) wells jaha lives, cursing, the nickname "princess" cause it's kind of cringey but fits their dynamic, SMUT; hate sex, (kinda) dom!bellamy, dirty talk, hate sex, hair pulling
Hating Bellamy Blake was almost too easy.
He was too cocky for his own good and was even worse at listening to orders than Caroline. He had been tormenting her, her sister and Wells since they landed.
But a long time has passed since their first days on Earth. The camp was functioning well and Caroline and Clarke found a way to work with Bellamy. After a kid died and Murphy was banished after being accused of killing some privileged kid, they formed a truce. Bellamy was the one leading the hunting trips and watching over the delinquents who were building the wall, Clarke was in charge of keeping the peace with the Grounders (the liberty of her having a thing with their Commander) and Caroline decided who got which job and worked with Raven to make radios and get in contact with The Ark.
She was not that thrilled about her mother coming down because, before she got arrested, she was not exactly mother of the year. Still, she felt guilty about the innocent people who were dying up there while there was a safe planet waiting for them.
Caroline let out a sigh and stood up, instantly drawing Raven’s attention to herself. She wiped her sweat off of her face with a rag and placed it down on the table, before saying, “I think that I’m done for today. I have to discuss some stuff with Bellamy.”
Raven snorted and raised an amused eyebrow, her tone taunting. “Oh, I bet. So much for staying away from him.”
The Griffin rolled her eyes at the reminder of her sister’s warning and wordlessly walked out of their work tent. Bellamy was very blunt with his flirting when they weren’t spitting insults at each other and when he wasn’t sleeping with half of the camp. Caroline was slightly annoyed and brushed it off quickly, but Clarke was down-right pissed. Her protective older sister was on and she was quick to tell Caroline how bad of an idea getting involved with Bellamy was. Her lecture was at least five minutes long but Caroline did not listen to a word that she said. She was not stupid. She knew that even flirting with Bellamy was a bad idea, but she was not planning on it. She liked to believe that she had standards.
“Hey, Princess.” Bellamy greeted her when she entered his tent without knocking. “You’re early.”
“No, you just slept in.” Caroline deadpanned while scanning his bare chest with a blank look on her face while he sat on the edge of his makeshift bed. “Some of us have been up and working for hours.”
Okay, yes, Bellamy was an asshole. But he was a hot asshole. If you asked her, she would say that the fact that he was annoying only made him more attractive. But that might just be her daddy issues talking.
He furrowed his eyebrows and asked, “Shit, is it really late?”
“Yeah, it’s almost lunch.” She shrugged and walked across his tent to grab one of his shirts. She absentmindedly threw it on him, silently telling him to get dressed. “I told Wells to let you sleep. You were keeping guard pretty late last night.”
She told herself that it was because he needed his eight hours of sleep if he was going to function properly. He was even more grumpy when he slept for only two hours.
Bellamy’s lips tugged into a grin and then fell open as he let out a dramatic gasp. “Was that you being nice?” She rolled her eyes and he was quick to add, “I’m sorry, I only ever saw you being nice to Clarke and Wells. Is it snowing outside?”
“Shut up.” Caroline muttered, her eyes involuntarily flickering toward his hands. “Just get dressed. We have work to do.”
He grabbed the blue shirt that she gave him but made no move to put it on. He simply raised a knowing eyebrow. “Are you sure that you want me to do that? You don’t want to keep checking me out?”
Caroline felt heat rushing to her face. Her mouth opened and closed a couple of times, but no words came out and she was desperately trying to find something to say. A couple of seconds later, she simply blurted out, “Don’t flatter yourself. You’re not that good looking.”
His smirk only grew. “Oh, so I’m not that good looking?” He stepped closer and she wished that the ground would swallow her whole. “I knew you liked me, Princess.”
“You wish,” She shot back, but made no move to step away from him. His scent was intoxicating and she could not look away from his face. His dark eyes were flickering between her eyes and her lips and she swore that they only got darker when her breath hitched.
Bellamy lifted his hand to brush some of her hair away from the face and he licked his lips, an action that only made her stare at his lips longer. He pushed his face closer to her own and just as he was about to lock their lips together, Wells’ voice rang through the air.
“Bellamy, did you take my─” He cut himself off when he looked up from the ground to see his best friend standing inappropriately close to the guy that she hated for months. His eyebrows shot up in surprise and he silently looked back and forth between the two of them for a couple of moments. He swallowed and awkwardly croaked out, “I’ll come back later. Or never. Probably never.”
Caroline watched the place he was standing at a couple of seconds ago in shock. She quickly stepped away from Bellamy and cleared her throat. “Get dressed and meet me in the map tent.”
Bellamy watched her leave the tent in a rush and chuckled to himself the second she left.
-
Caroline wished that they could simply work in silence, each on their own side of the tent. After what happened earlier that morning, the last thing that she needed was to spent the next couple of hours before lunch with Bellamy. Especially because he seemed completely unfazed. If anything, his amusement only grew every time he would catch her staring at him which would lead to her having to look away or narrow her eyes into a glare to seem annoyed rather than flustered.
He saw right through her. That might be the reason why she hated him so much. She had always tried to keep her walls up as high as possible because she was afraid of letting people in. But Bellamy could read her like an open book.
“We should move Jasper from the gate and get Miller there.” Caroline suggested as she leaned over the map of their camp. “I love him to death but he runs at the first sight of danger. There is no one better than Miller. I trust him to stay there more than anyone.”
Bellamy surprised her by shaking his head. Her eyebrows furrowed. Was Miller not his best friend? “Guarding the gate is a big responsibility, yes, but it’s also dangerous. The guards there are usually the first to go. We have to put someone disposable there.”
Caroline let out a humorless laugh and looked at him in disbelief. “Are you kidding me? No one in this camp is disposable. We put the most competent person there, no matter how much either one of us cares about him.”
The Blake shrugged. “I don’t know if losing him is worth it.”
“And losing someone else is?” She retorted and stepped away from the table and scoffed. “I cannot believe you. You talk shit about The Ark, Jaha and the privileged for sending us here and labeling us as disposable but you are not any different. For some reason, those kids out there trust you but you are willing to sacrifice any of them if it means saving your ass and the two people you care about.”
Bellamy clenched his jaw, his eyes flashing with anger the second that she compared him to the monsters that killed his mother and locked up his sister. He stepped closer to her and glared down at her. “Stop pretending that you know me, Princess. You can’t psychoanalyze everyone in your life just because of one decision they make.”
Caroline glared back at him, not intimidated. “And you can judge people based on who their parents are? That’s ironic. I would not be surprised if you were planning to tell me that I should guard the gate since you clearly hate me so much. Putting me there is the easiest way to get rid of me, right?”
“Maybe I do hate you?” His words made her falter in surprise. “How can I not? You always have something to say about every decision I make. You take every opportunity to argue with me. Whenever I think that we are starting to see eye to eye, you do another thing to drive me crazy. And I hate myself for it a lot more than I hate you because despite you being everything that I’m against I still…” Bellamy did not finish his sentence and simply stared at the clueless look on her face. After a couple of seconds of silence, he muttered, “Fuck it.”
Caroline stumbled back in surprise which led to her sitting on the desk. Before she got the chance to kiss him back, he pulled away. His breath fanned across her lips and he stared at her, trying to find any hint of disgust or hesitance. He did not find any. But this time, she was the one that kissed him. She gripped his shirt to keep him closer while one of his hands tangled in her hair. Her breath hitched when he used his grip on her cair to pull her head down in order to reveal her neck. He did not think twice before he messily started placing open-mouthed kisses over her exposed collar bone.
She moaned and spread her legs so he could comfortably stand between them. His other hand found her waist and she ran her fingers through his hair, pulling on his curls lightly to spur him on. He pushed down her shirt to reveal her bra so he could keep sucking hickies down to her breats. The hand on her waist squeezed it and he paused, squeezing his eyes shut to get it together.
“Did you─ did you ever have sex?” Bellamy asked,his dark eyes practically piercing through her soul.
Caroline’s eyes almost softened at the genuine worry in his voice. He was grounded enough to ask the eighteen year old, who spent the last six years of her life locked up, if she was a virgin or not. Luckily, after Clarke broke Wells’ heart, she was more than fine with being his rebound to keep her mind off of other things.
She rapidly nodded, tugging at his shirt so he could get back to what he was doing before.
“Words, Caroline,”
Caroline. Not Princess or Baby Griffin. Just Caroline.
“Yes.” She breathed out. “I had sex before. Now stop being so uncharacteristically considerate and kiss me.”
Bellamy did not need to be told twice. He leaned back down to kiss her and her hands quickly found their way around his neck to pull him closer to her despite them already being chest-to-chest. His tongue slipped into her mouth and easily won the short battle for dominance.
Caroline placed her hands on his chest to push him away. He gave her a confused look which disappeared when she pulled her shirt over her head. He smirked and then copied her actions, exposing his chest. This time, she shamelessly checked him out.
Bellamy was pleasantly surprised when she reached down to pull his pants down along with his underwear. Her hand wrapped around his dick and started to slowly move her hand up and down, almost as if she was teasing him. He let out a low groan and leaned his hands on either side of her. He rested his forehead against hers and kept his eyes on her as she jerked him off.
“Fuck, Princess.” He cursed, his breath hitching. He was ashamed of how close he was just from her jerking him off.
He pulled her hand away and just as she was about to ask him what he was doing, he pulled her off of the desk in order to pull her hands down. He wrapped his arms around her thighs to place her back on the table and she gasped in surprise when his fingers slipped between her legs. His fingers teased her opening until she was whining into his mouth.
“Don’t tease.”
He chuckled and dipped one of his fingers inside of her. “Patience.”
She did not argue and simply leaned back, letting him pump his fingers in and out of her while he rubbed her clit. She moaned his name lowly, aware that if they were too loud, the others outside could hear them. Bellamy almost moaned at the sight of the girl squirming and trying her hardest to stay quiet on the table. The girl who never kept her mouth shut and was a force to be reckoned with was completely at his mercy.
Before Caroline could finish, he pulled his hand away. She panted and gave him a weak glare. “You’re a dick,”
“I didn’t hear you arguing when you were moaning my name.” He shot back and cupped her ass to bring their bodies closer together. He wrapped one of his hands around his dick and slid inside of her. He let out a deep groan and she let out a high pitchen moan due to his lack of patience. Bellamy placed one of his hands over her mouth and whispered, “Be quiet for me, Princess. You don’t want the rest of the camp to hear how much you hate me, do you?”
She shook her head and her eyes rolled to the back of her head when he pulled out and roughly pushed back inside her. He was no better than her. He was cursing and groaning as she rolled her hips back into his own.
They spent a couple of minutes like that, soaking in pleasure and the thrill that they got from the fact that anyone could walk into the tent at any minute. “I’m close.” He muttered and used the hand that was not covering her mouth to rub her clit in order to get her closer to the edge.
Caroline’s nails dug into his shoulders and the moaned against his hand, almost reaching her peak. He groaned at the pain and only snapped his hips against her faster. Her vision blurred and her eyes squeezed shut when she finally fell over the edge and came around him. Her walls squeezing him like a vice was what pushed him over the edge and he was quick to pull out and finish on her stomach.
Caroline panted and leaned her forehead against his chest when his hand fell from her mouth.
"So much for hating me, huh, Princess?"
She groaned. "Clarke is gonna kill me."

The 100 rewatch 2023 S1 E2
Episode “Earth Skills”
The kids fleeing through the woods after Jasper had been impaled at the river.
Jasper is still alive... His screams echoing from far away through the woods... it’s frightening. “They took him!” THEY ARE NOT ALONE ON EARTH! Some people must have survived the apocalypse so many years ago!
Poor Jaha thinks his son is dead... just no...
Wells on the ground digging graves for the kids that haven’t survived the landing. Why him... Poor thing...
Post-coital Bellamy leaving the dropship shirtless - and me with my jaw dropped. (At least, while i was watching it many years ago for the first time ;) ). But he’s still an asshole. Especially towards Wells atm. “What’s wrong with a little chaos?”--- I’M JUST GETTING STARTED. Well... whatever you say Bell...
Murphy as Bellamy’s little soldier. Unf... But oh, look! Wells got it. But OF COURSE Clarke and the others come back and get the wrong picture.
“Life support on the ark is failing!” Oh look at the kids faces... They didn’t know this.
Bellamy and his first speech to the kids ever! “We’re stronger than you think!” Aggressively good. And he’s got some points...
On the ark: Oh god... Jaha and Abby talking about a culling already. But... “Hope is everything!” YES ABBY!
Oh... Jaha accusing Kane to possibly be the man behind the plot to him being shot down. I totally forgot!
The dropship camp on earth: Monty is “too important” and isn’t allowed to go on a rescue mission for his best friend Jasper. Clarke shows authority again. And rightful so.
And then... Bellarke... “I came here for you.” The tension is almost palpable. Her glares at him too. “I hear you have a gun.” And instead of just ANSWERING her he has the audacity to lift up his shirt at his hip with his beautiful veiny hand to show her: He indeed HAS a gun... More then one so. Lol... He’s so annoyingly sexy. Clarke looking right through his attitude. Just lifting an eyebrow. Uh oh... Is there some certain... tension... between them? Or am i making things up? Doesn’t matter. This is INTERESTING...
Bellamy never leaving the “princess” out of sight while out on the rescue mission, even willing to “cut off her hand to get that wristband”. Yeah well... As if i could believe you, big-mouth.  ;)
The ark: RAVENNNN!!!! MY BEAUTIFUL SMARTASS RAVEN IS ENTERING THE STAGE!!! My day is saved. I LOVED Raven from the very first moment i saw her. And she’s a spacewalker! YESSS!
On earth again: Oh look, Atom hitting on O. And O hitting on him - mocking him. O being locked up with Monty in the dropship. Surprise surprise.
Abby and Jackson on the ark talking about Raven: “Ballsy kid.” “Yes she is, reminds me of someone...” Raven and Abby. This is going to be awesome.
Earth: Oh, yet ANOTHER scene filled with tension between rebel Bellamy and princess Clarke - BRAVE PRINCESS, there, he said it. ICONIC.  And that trademark smirk that makes my knees go weak in a way.
Bell realizing that Wells only came down to earth for Clarke. For “someone he loves”. He’s not the only one. Bell thinking of his sister O, of course. He MAY BE an asshole. But a smart and caring one.
Meanwhile Atom shows feelings on the dropship: “Bell loves you, O.” And he envies that.
And now there’s another scene i would usually skip while watching: Clarke and Finn bathing and having fun in a pond. Whatever. Teens. But oh, look, there’s Jasper’s blood. “We*re close.”
The ark: Raven again. Smarty knows that the kids on earth aren’t dying. They’re just stubborn kids taking off their wristbands.
Butterfly-O! This is such a cheesy, yet so lovely scene to watch. Glowing butterflies! Little Octavia never saw something like that before. She’s in awe. There’s also Atom who follwed her. O’s got her (probably) first kiss, and it’s kinda cute.
Meanwhile: OH GOD, POOR JASPER! Tied to a tree! Wounded and bleeding and in pain! Who tf DID THIS to him?!
And now everything’s happening so fast again: Everyone’s running towards Jasper and then BOOM Clarke suddenly falls into a trap - BUT BELL’s THERE! Magically he’s the first one to catch her, saving her life. There are wooden piles in that earth hole... The others come to help. They’re pulling Clarke out of the trap. Clarke flashes Bellamy a look - almost unbelieving what he did for her. Who would have thought? And Bell’s face seem to say: Why tf have i done this? Did i really do THAT? Mh... INTERESTING.
The council of the ark sitting together. They believe that earth is uninhabitable. Well... all of them except for Abby. They’re talking about a culling... This is... makabre. They really want to sacrifice hundreds of lives to save others. It’s hard to listen to this. But Jaha abstains - and this way he’s giving Abby more time to figure out what’s REALLY going on on earth.
On earth: They try to get Jasper down from that tree. And then there’s that black puma from out of nowhere and Clarke goes “BELLAMY! GUN!” For the first time we see fear in Bellamy’s eyes. He tries for his gun but - OH LOOK, WELL’S GOT IT! Again. “Now she sees you.” Yes she does.
The ark: “Did someone call for a mechanic?” Raven. I LOVE this girl. And of COURSE Raven can secretly fix a 130 years old rescue pod to help Abby (and herself) to get down to earth to the others... OF... COURSE... Woah! She really IS the smartest. A QUEEN BEE.
Earth: Food for the kids in the camp! “WHO’S HUNGRY!” Bellamy and his voice again. Seriously. That is a story of its own... sigh
They have Jasper back in camp but it doesn’t look good for him. Bell already being and ass again, only giving out food if they agree to take off their wristbands. Wtf! I wanna slap him! And Murphy!
Oh- oh... Atom catched by Bellamy while kissing O... His precious sister... Now he has to bear the consequences. “I WON’T BE DISOBEYED!” Woah there... Bellamy may be a rebel asshole, but a ROYAL one. A rebel king. ;)
And in the end: Oh look! First glimpse of Lincoln lingering in the shadows of the wood!
Boom out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This episode isn’t the best either, I know. But the whole thing is finally picking up speed and everything is in flow now. I remember while i watched it for the first time, that i felt VERY intrigued by the fact, that Bellamy, of all people, rescued the princess Clarke from falling into the trap. That was a plot choice. That was on purpose. And i felt like that this COULD lead to something. I didn’t know what that “something” would look like. But i HOPED that these two maybe... perhaps... would get along far more smoothly in the future... My senses were tingling. When these two shared looks with each other... there WAS something there. There’s no denying. And i liked what i saw. I still do. It’s still one of my fave episodes because of that. Also: I almost immediately fell in love with Raven Reyes. Dunno why exactly. She's just... so damn smart and beautiful. I have to admit that I indeed preferred her over Clarke as character. (Until S5 that is. From up on S5 Clarke was the no 1 female character for me. I suffered so much with her it's not even funny. But that's another story.)
I have to mention that at the point i watched the first season for the first time i haven‘t read The 100-novels. I started reading the first book around the 3rd season. So everything i felt was completely and only a reaction to what i saw on screen.
What i liked: Bellamy and Clarke bickering. Bellamy saving Clarke. RAVEN!
What i disliked: All this talk about a culling on the ark. And Bell and Murphy being assholes.
Fave quote(s): “What’s wrong with a little chaos?”  “Did someone call for a mechanic?” ICONIC
Song(s) i associate with the episode: “Precious illusions” by Alanis Morissette ( “These precious illusions in my head did not let me down when I was a kid.
And parting with them is like parting with a childhood best friend..”)
STACKED100 - MAY POST
what is stacked100?
It’s something I thought up, inspired in part by “stackednatural”, but mostly by myself doing this with The Vampire Diaries this last year (see my #stackediaries tag). The gist of it is that you watch each episode of the show on the anniversary of their airing date. It “officially” started in October (with only two episodes) and it would end in September 2024. You can see the full schedule here.
what are we supposed to do with this
Whatever the hell you want lmao. Tag whatever post you make #stacked100 and go for it! Gifsets, live blogging, discussions… engage with other people as much or as little as you want. Watch some episodes and not others, for any reason. I’m doing this to have some fun with this VERY polarizing show, seeing how my perspective might be changed with hindsight + this specific way of watching it, and a bit because I miss my little corner of this messy as fuck fandom. But this is something you can do in whichever manner works for you, mate.
okay one thing i gotta say (now that I’m doing the rewatch too), I think Bellamy’s super udnerestimated in that first episode alone.
people all saw him as the bad guy, who was trying to save his skin, which true, he is that but I just love how smart he goes on about things.
he listens carefully to Clarke when she explains the wristbands will tell the Ark if the ground is survivable, so they could follow.
THEN-
he first goes to Murphy and Mbege (the two John’s) with the idea of them taking the wristbands off, selling them and might you-very well-the idea of why they should be free and do this. Then with confidence, he says when they ask him what they get in return, that he’ll need help managing things, so he actually believes he can pull that thing off but of course there’s also the real, non bad-ass Bellamy part of him that truly does hate the Ark system and the way it had punished him and his family (unfairly so), so she has true hatred for people like Wells and Clarke and wants to teach them a lesson (apart from him trying to save himself and protect his sister)
then, he figures wells would definitely be an obstacle. they have the whole convo by the fire when the rain starts and he talks to him about the 100 being *his people*, something he doesn’t believe truly back then but which happens to turn into a reality by the end of s1 and is the core of who he is in s2 (which is another reason why i dont get some people saying he was boring as a hero in s2; probably because they were drawn by that dark side they saw at first that imo isn’t dark at all);
and then, what is really interesting is when he treatens Wells and takes hi away from camp; he pulls out his gun then, suggesting, very much so that he could shoot him (like we already know he did the chancellor) but despite his treats and his big boy bravado behavior, he actually ends up just forcing the John’s and some of his other newly found frends to push him down and take the wristband off forcefully;
which should’ve been our cue number 1 that yes, he’s not a killer; if he really was that mean, he would’ve shot wells and taken full control by installing fear in the 100, but instead he’s smart and also, as much as we can’t see it at first very Bellamy even if we don’t know him well in just that one episode;
i know people would say that he didn’t shoot wells cause he didn’t want to add to his troubles if the rest of the Ark ever came down-true, very possible but from what we know later on, he shot Jaha in the stomach even when he could’ve aimed for the head or the heart (aka Raven’s you’re a lousy shot when two episodes down the line we find out that in fact, he isn’t at all when he saves Clarke from Anya on the bridge) but he didn’t want to; just like he didn’t want to truly hurt Wells;
he was just trying to protect his sister and make sure she would be alright while somehow maintaining a position in which he could keep living during the current circumstances;
anyway, I just wanted to say I loved the dialgue between first Bellamy-Murphy/Mbege and then Bellamy-Wells cause it showed how smart he was;
The 100 Rewatch 2023 ep 1.3
Earth Kills.
Yes we love the Earth Skills/Earth Kills play on words.
On the Ark, flash back young happy Jahas and Griffins. They are so cute. Ugh that look Jaha gives Abby and Jake when they're being romantic. So longing, so pining. Frankly that would have been a good storyline.
Groaning Jasper who everyone thinks is dying. Ooh Clarke hears Charlotte having a nightmare. This is a terrible storyline but actually a really good one. The horror, the pain, the tragedy. It points out the injustice of the systems on the Ark. Jailing a prepubescent girl who just lost her parents for assaulting a guard? Where were you Jaha when that went down? Was that a place where you needed to enforce the rules?
Oh, the missing kids. Trina and somebody else. "Trina Relax we're fine." What is that? Oh that's the poison fog. Not fine. Nope. Great way to introduce tension and danger frankly.
Bellamy showing off with his throwing knives. Murphy being an ass. Atom being Bellamy's bitch. lol. Pascale. That's the other one. No they're not just lost. He makes Murphy guard the camp.
Trying to save Jasper who's wound is infected.
O trying to make moves on Atom and Atom taking his punishment and ignoring her. O and Bellamy confrontation. Bellamy being a jackass big brother. Meanwhile Clarke is debriding Jasper's wound and Bellamy thinks he can't save him. "Down here every life matters."
Bellamy. "Look at him, he's a lost cause." THere's a bit of an oracle. Bellamy meanwhile thinks Clarke doesn't have the guts.
"Power hungry self serving jackass. He doesn't care about anyone but himself." Says Monty. Which is actually completely wrong.
Finn however agrees with him about Jasper being a lost cause and that's ANOTHER clue where that guy discards people like trash. Bellamy is wrong and so is Finn.
Abby and Jake fighting about the Ark dying and wanting to tell everyone. He's TALL. And has big shoulders.
Clarke examingin the grounder poultice (go away finn) Wells has figured out what the poultice is and is telling her how to find it and she keeps rolling her eyes and talking to Finn. More blaming him for getting her dad killed. The three find a hidden car. Neat.
Bellamy hunting, turns around and flings an axe and almost hits Charlotte. Enter big brother bellamy. He gives her a knife. Discussion about killing things. "Who knows maybe you're good at it."
They find the seaweed and Wells worries about the sea monster, Finn talks about rigging something. Clarke wades in and gets it. Oh, flock of birds fleeing. The grounder warning horn. O. Kno. RUN RUN.
boo back to the ARk. If it isn't Raven I don't care. Oh its another flashback we find Wells and Clarke playing chess. She tells him about her dad. Yeah yeah. I know. She's wrong. She will regret how she treated him. And we never had enough time for it to matter. I do not like that story choice. Despite it being important later. They shouldn't have killed off Wells.
They run from the poison gas and find the car. Bellamy takes Charlotte into a cave, Atom falls and is caught in it. The kids are running into the dropship. Good and scary.
Wells, Clarke and Finn find booze. Wells "alcohol is toxic." Lawful good. Goodie goodie. which makes Clarke rebel.
Charlotte in the cave with the bad dreams. Bellamy and his fateful inspiring speech telling her to slay her demons when she's awake and they won't be there in her sleep. Fear is weakness. Weakness is death. When you feel afraid hold tight to that knife and say 'screw you, i'm not a afraid.' Sigh. Obviously she doesn't have a hold of her sanity. Or maybe she does. They're setting up a new society down there where people threaten and fight and torture. This is what Bellamy did until he realizes the consequences.
I don't actually want to listen to this drunk Clarke blaming Wells forever for something he didn't do. Ugh. LEave him alone Clarke. Finn tells her to take it easy. Clarke. "I have no idea how to do that." Wells DOES drink the booze. See he would have lightened up.
Jasper still howling in pain. Murphy says he's gonna kill him. Monty and O lock him out. Murphy was awful. Terrible. Great bad guy. Oh hey, anyone watch Flash? I saw Richard was playing a bad guy on that. He's really good at a creepy, morally gray, oddly attractive bad guy.
Clarke wants to be a part of the plot to reveal the dying Ark. She calls her dad dumb. lol. "you picked a fine time to start being a rebellious teenager." And Jake is arrested.
Acid fog gone. Finn doesn't think Wells is innocent of what she accuses him of. This is actually one of the times I don't hate Finn. He's right. But he's always trying to get into her life, behind her walls.
Charlotte finds Atom. Atom tells Bellamy to kill him. She gives the knife to Bellamy. He sends her back to camp. Clarke arrives over his shoulder. She gets right to work. No. He's not gonna make it. She tells Atom she's gonna help him. Takes the knife from Bellamy and starts humming. Bellamy just watches her while she cuts his carotid.(so does charlotte.) They're back in camp.
Bellamy "Get Clarke wahtever she needs." The turning point in their relationship from Enemies to partners.
O blames Bellamy for Atom's death which is stupid. IT's not his fault. And he takes the blame. That is one dynamic I don't like. The O&B blame bellamy carousel. I get why she does it and it's true to character, but it takes so long to grow out of it.
Floating Jake. I know it's the basis for Clarke's character but I guess I'm less interested in what happened before the show and more interested to the things ON the show. A bit of tear jerking. Wells is there. Jaha is there. Abby is there. Wells does not look happy. HE shot his dad a horrified look. DId they need to have Jake flip out of the ship like a fricking flap jack? lol.
Giving Jasper seaweed soup. Clarke apologizes to O about Atom's death. O says "I guess we're going to have to get used to people dying." And that's some more oracle work isn't it?
Clarke finally figures out that it was her mom not Wells who told on Jake. Honestly. That's exhausting too. I'm glad that she grew out of the holding grudges phase. Not yet, but soon. This is the story that teaches her to let go.
Octavia and MOnty drinking the booze. Jasper wakes up.
Finn, "Welcome back buddy." ARen't you the one who kept trying to leave him to die?
Wells watching the sunset. along comes a spider. Or charlotte. And they have a nice little moment, and talk about nightmares. "I think I found a way to make them stop. Sorry." stabs him. chops off his fingers. Sharp knife. She tells the story of how she sees Wells father ever night killing her parents and she wakes up and sees his. The only way to make it better is to slay her demons. She had to. And hums while he dies.
SUPER HARSH. Pretty damn effective though. If I recall, that was when I had to reevaluate my opinion of this show as being pretty teens in the post apocalypse. Or no. I think it was the one two punch of Atom being put out of his misery and then Wells being murdered by a misguided traumatized teen.
Of course as soon as they reconcile, Wells dies.
The acting is all better now. The storylines are more original. The characters have more depth. The kids are less stupid because theres more risk out there.
I do not love Clarke's grudge holding in this episode. She's acting like a child. Granted, she IS a child. So it's not a fatal character flaw, and she definitely grows up.
These kids are all traumatized.
I want to see them heal and get strong and find love and be happy.
Combining Fanfic Tag Games!
Another combined tag game! I was tagged to post the last lines from a WIP by @helenvader and @somebirdortheother as well as an Author Fic Rec challenge by @wyrd-syster. The fic rec asks for 5 fics but I don't have many published at the moment, so I'll give you three posted works and two hints from WIPs.
The Best Laid Plans for Rings of Power. My first piece of creative writing in yeeeears because this show rejuvenated some old tired parts of my soul. [Human!Halbrand/Galadriel | T | Canon Divergence Post S01E05 | 2462 words | One Shot] - He had plans. The universe had other ideas. Now they were in too deep to ever go back. "But he left and she fretted and her fretting did not go unnoticed, which just made her angry at him and at the world. It took all of her not-insignificant self-control to keep from saddling up and going out to find him herself. When he came into her rooms that night, cold and road weary, she found she couldn’t look him in the eye. Because he’d see it there, of course he would, he always saw. So she let out her anger instead, expecting him to rise to it. But he didn’t. He gave one half-hearted excuse and then just…stared at her until she couldn’t keep from touching him. And then they finally couldn’t keep from touching each other."
Blizzard for The 100. From forever ago. [Bellamy/Clarke | G | Comedy Canon Divergence Post S2 | 6738 words | One Shot] - Camp Jaha hunkers down to ride out a blizzard. Driven crazy by her friends' drunken antics, Clarke decides to hang out with Bellamy instead. "With nowhere to go and nothing to do, they had started working their way through the moonshine by mid-morning. Clarke didn't have all that much. But the rest of them ended up rip-roaring drunk. Monty was explaining the process of hydro-farming to them for the sixteenth time, though by now Clarke wasn't even sure if he was speaking English. Jasper had chased Lord Cluckington around for a good half an hour, trying to make her cuddle, before losing interest and instead trying to make a tower out of every available item in the room. Lord Cluckington was wandering around, making loud shrieking noises every time Jasper tried to give her a throne at the top of the tower, which was once every five minutes. Wick and Raven were laying tangled in a blanket by the fire. Clarke was fairly certain she had heard them making out at some point in the night but now Raven was loudly telling jokes and then laughing at herself."
Pictures of Artwork [Bellamy/Clarke one shot, posted on my Tumblr] "And that she had had a dream last week in which she was making out with him because her stupid brain couldn’t just make up hot people to make out with but had to pick strangers that she didn’t even know. Because her brain, like the pigeon, was an asshole."
WIP #1 Rings of Power [Canon Divergence post-S01E07.] Galadriel and Elrond make a visit to the Southlander settlement at Pelargir. The Southlanders decide to celebrate surviving their first winter in their new home. It's gonna be fluffy like a pillow. Ships are Arondir/Bronwyn and Galadriel/Human!Halbrand. "Winter in Pelargir was kinder than in Tir-Harad. In Tir-Harad, the blizzards always came biting at the heels of harvest time. The snow would pile high by midwinter and leave each village a small island to itself, the folk huddled around their small hearths, carefully measuring their stores so that they would last till spring. For months, the only travelers abroad would be the elves, passing as easily across the top of the snow as if it were packed earth."
WIP #2 Rings of Power [Modern College/Magic/Soulmates AU.] Ships are Galadriel/Human!Halbrand, Bronwyn/Arondir, featuring a million side characters. The elves are very-long-lived descendants of Tolkien elves but Galadriel doesn't quite know that yet. “'Who are you and why are you following me?'” Her voice seemed to surprise him and it took him a couple tries to summon a coherent sentence. 'You- I- Look,' he sighed. 'You’re the one out here in the middle of nowhere in a nightgown with a giant knife and no shoes. That’s…uh…kind of weird and I thought maybe you needed some help.' She frowned. What did he mean, no shoes? Suddenly her feet and ankles were screaming from a hundred different cuts and scrapes, an abrupt agony that she managed to limit to a quiet gasp of pain. Quiet but audible; she saw the worry in his face and blade or not, he moved towards her. It was all she could do to stay upright but she forced herself to step back and keep the distance and the dagger between them. She risked a glance. Everything from her calves down was caked in a mixture of dirt, blood, and gods knew what else. She could just see a trail of bloody footprints behind him leading back into the forest. What in the hell had happened to her? 'I do not require assistance,' she shot back, looking around again for something to tell her where the hell they were. She couldn’t have gone too far from home in this state but she didn’t know this land well enough yet to be certain. 'Yeah, no, whatever you say,' his voice dripped with sarcasm, prompting a scowl from her. 'I do not recall asking for your opinion on the matter. Just…simply tell me where we are, direct me to the nearest path, and I will be on my way and trouble you no further.' He opened his mouth, closed it, looked around as if seeing the landscape for the first time. Finally he shrugged, 'Honestly, I have no idea.' She blinked several times before coming up with a response. 'You followed a stranger into unknown territory for some unknown amount of time and you really kept no account of where you were going?' He had the gall to smirk. 'At least I wore shoes.'"
I am tagging whoever would like to play. Seriously, I'd love to see what you got!
The 100
Trope: pseudo parents
cytherea
bellamy and clarke are the 100's mom and dad but they are also an actual mom and dad; basically the story of the camp and bellamy and clarke and their children and a really nice future for the 100 and i just smiled so much while writing this ok
. . . .
like herding cats
Clarke starts to wonder just how much taking care of these teenagers feels like parenthood.
. . . .
one of the greatest titles in the world is parent
“One of the greatest titles in the world is parent, and one of the biggest blessings in the world is to have parents to call mom and dad.” Bellamy and Clarke have somehow quasi-adopted a plethora of children.
. . . .
our kids
Mom and Dad. Most 18-year-olds would have found being called ‘Mom’ by other teenagers very creepy, but Clarke was used to it by now. The term of endearment was at first used behind their backs, but after a couple of slip-ups, the kids openly refer to their leaders as Mom and Dad all the time.
. . . . .
rule one
“Rule one of the ground- don’t get in between Mom and Dad when they’re fighting.”
“What.” Abby Griffin says flatly.
. . . . .
what we built
What, precisely, it means to be 'Dad,' he can’t actually say. He's something more than a make-believe, playhouse version of a father figure, something less than an actual parent. It's not a role he could explain to anyone, but then, no one ever asks. Outside of their insular group, no one even knows about the old tradition, and as long as the dropship survivors stick to themselves, the status quo remains unchallenged, uninterrogated.
It starts as a joke, this habit the hundred have of calling Clarke and Bellamy 'mom' and 'dad.' But by the time the Mount Weather survivors return to Camp Jaha, it's become much more than that. It's become a way to signal that they're still a family, even as they reunite with their people and integrate themselves into the growing settlement.
Note
I was today years old when I was checking your masterlist and found out The 100 has books wtf. Can u tell me the end? Is it bad like on the tv show?
Hey sorry, I didn’t reply earlier ‘cause I was in the hospital.
————————————————————
Well, yes there are actually four books which are VERY and ABSOLUTELY different from the show. It actually has a good ending, kidna cheesy, but good.
It’s mainly ‘cause the writters of the show were doing it while the books were still in progress and when the author of the books released the third one it was too late for the show writters to fix the episodes so they just went with what they’ve done and it’s completely different and to be honest I like the books much more
The end of the books is actually good and kidna sweet, I don’t wanna spoil anything so the ending pages will be marked “⚠️SPOILERS⚠️” at the end of this post
If that’s cool I’d kidna like to point out the differences (you can skip it if you wanna)
Starting of with characters:
There is no: Lexa, Finn, Jasper, Raven, John, Madi, Emori (not sure about this one), Monty, Charmaine, Echo, Gaia, Jordan and MANY more. They’re all just made up
Clarke’s character: Clarke in the show is determinated, rude, leader, extroverted, principled, ready to kill if needed, independent etc. While in the books Clarke is careful, introverted, A MEDIC, doesn’t like (at first) to be the leader, can speak up, brave, INCREDIBLY smart, caring, stubborn, nerd, kind
Missing characters:
Glass Sorenson - Best friend of Wells, she was arrested for getting pregnant through the pregnancy resulted in a miscarriage. In the commotion of Chancellor Jaha getting shot, she ran off the dropship and remained on the Colony for the first two books.
Graham - Phoenician boy, a bully, and one of the leaders at the delinquents' camp. He claims he was arrested for murder. He often accused Wells of spying on behalf of his father. In the fourth book, he was captured by the Protectors. After Graham broke one of the Protectors' rules, Wells was sent to kill him. But, when Wells could not go through with it, Graham pulled the trigger himself
Thalia - Clarke's best friend in confinement. She got severely hurt during the dropship landing, after which Clarke found her. When her condition worsens, Clarke has to find more medicine that got lost. The medicine improves Thalia's condition, but when the medicine gets stolen, her life is in the balance again. Clarke saves her life, but Thalia remains too weak to leave the infirmary tent. Despite Clarke's attempt to save her friend, Thalia dies in the fire set by the rogue Earthborns, which Clarke blames herself for
Asher - Arcadian boy killed by Earthborns' arrow. He was the first delinquent to have a fatal encounter with the Earthborns
Priya - An 18-year-old girl that was helpful around camp. She was later found hanged with "Go Home" carved into her feet
Felix - Eric’s boyfriend who became ill from eating wintershade berries
Molly - A 13-year-old who died from eating wintershade berries
Lila - Waldenite girl who sleeps with Graham
Tamsin- A blond girl who’s friends with Lila
Dmitri - One of Graham’s followers
Azuma - Arcadian boy and one of Graham’s followes
Antonio - Waldenite boy
Darcy - Arcadian girl
Luke - Glass's boyfriend and a Lieutenant in the Guards. He served in the engineering division. He had a brief relationship with Camille while Glass Sorenson was in lock-up
Lilly Marsh - Bellamy's childhood friend and ex-girlfriend. She was one of the children in the radiation study and became friends with Clarke. As her radiation poisoning worsens she convinces Clarke to give her a lethal dose of drugs.
Carter Jace - Luke's best friend who was executed after Glass lied that he got her pregnant. He is very self-centered, and is also known to have stolen from the exchange. Glass believes Carter only took Luke in for the extra benefits he got from it
Camille - Luke's childhood friend and ex-girlfriend. She dated Luke while Glass was in lock-up
Cora Drake - One of Glass' best friends and the daughter of the Resources Chief.
Huxley – One of Glass' best friends.
Lise – One of Clarke's former cellmates while in Confinement. It is unclear if she was one of the 100.
Colton – Bellamy's former friend who became a prick when he became a guard. Bellamy bribed him for information about Octavia since her arrest.
Scott – A Waldenite Guard who has a creepy fascination with Clarke.
Lina – A girl captured by the Protectors
Sonja Sorenson – Glass' mother who got her pardoned.
Chancellor Jaha – The Chancellor of the Colony. He is the father of Wells and Bellamy. He was shot right before the delinquents' dropship launched.
Vice Chancellor Rhodes – The Vice Chancellor on the Colony. It is implied that he had feelings for Sonja. According to Bellamy, Rhodes is "the most corrupt leader the Colony had ever known".
Officer Burnett – A middle-aged guard and Rhodes' second-in-command.
Dr. Lahiri – The Council's chief medical advisor. He was Clarke's mentor when she was a medical apprentice and one of her father's closest friends.
Melinda Blake (not sure) – Mother of Bellamy and Octavia. She died by suicide when Bellamy was nine and Octavia was three.
Mr. Drake – The Resources Chief in the Colony and Cora's father.
Mr. Peters – Biology tutor on Phoenix. He died due to the rough landing on Earth.
Marin – An older woman whose leg was injured in the rough landing on Earth
Keith – A boy with broken ribs who is treated by Clarke. His parents didn't make it to Earth, leaving him orphaned.
Leo – A little boy who survived the trip to Earth but was left orphaned. He is one of the children who Octavia takes care of.
Thomas – Son of an injured Colonist who Glass tries to help.
Cressida – A young Waldenite child Clarke treated when she was a medical apprentice on the Colony.
Kendall – A faux-Phoenix girl who turns out to be a spy from the violent faction of Earthborns.
Sasha Walgrove (my favourite) – An Earthborn girl who helps the delinquents. She falls in love with Wells but is later killed by Colonist Guards.
Max Walgrove – Leader of the Earthborn village and father of Sasha. He was the last Mount Weather baby before the Earthborns moved to the ground.
Tommy – A young boy who died while taking the Colonists fishing.
Delphine – A pregnant Earthborn in Max's village.
Jane – An Earthborn woman Max leaves in charge when he leaves to find Sasha.
Anna – Captured by the Protectors, became Octavia's girlfriend
Soren – The leader of the Protectors. Trapped under rubble in the explosion of the gazebo, left by Glass to die.
Oak – A high-ranking guard who ordered Wells to kill Graham.
Sexuality
Clarke Griffin: bisexual in the show, straight in the books
Octavia Blake: straight in the show, bisexual in the books (She dates a girl named Anna. She was given a girlfriend due to the negative response of Clarke and Lexa’s ending. This was changed for the TV series, as she was straight in the show)
There are of course many more differences, I just wanted to point these out
⚠️Spoilers for the last book⚠️
“Spiraea tomentosa” Clarke’s mother said softly, pressing the nondiscripted green leaf against her own hand “That’s my closest guess. A tea from this one helps a stomach upset, according to the book”
Mary leaned over to tap the old dusty tome that Max had given her during her recovery: a pre-Catalysm book about local herbs. In the days that Clarke and others had been gone, her parents have taken on a new initiative, bolstering the camp’s dwindling supply of medicine by reproducing materials from the Colony and experimenting with local plants.
Clarke peered down at the leaf, memorizing each detail, but it was her mother’s hand that caught her attention… warm, soft, alive. Dr. Lahiri said that her mother had healed up in a record time.
“This one is called boneset” Clarke’s mother went on, laying a plant with delicate white petals onto the table. “They used to think it helped set fractired bones, thus the name, but it was just supersition, unfortunately. It does however, have some use in treating fevers, so I’m going to keep playing with it and see what we can develop…”
“You’re amazing” Clarke said hugging her mother gently, careful not to joste her injury.
“Amazing…” Clarke’s father walked in from the field, where he’d been helping dig foundations for new cabins. He dusted his hands off his trousers with a grin “That’s high praise from a girl who just stormed a fortress”
“Hardly” Clarke said flushing “I didn’t do it alone”
“But you did it” Clarke’s mother said, her eyes shinning. “We’re proud of you”
Clarke felt too proud, looking around at the quickly rebuilding camp. Their people may have been damamged by the attack - but they hadn’t been defeated. They’d healed up and set to work.
They’d all been so busy since returning yesterday. Clarke had immediately started helping out in the infirmary; a few of the people they’d brought with them from the Stone had needed more rigorous medical care. Glass had volunteered to oversee clearing and planting the Colonists’ very first field. Wells was reinvigorated, helping out with the Council, and Luke’s engineering mind has been elecrified by all the new plans.
And they weren’t going to re-create what they had before… they had the courage to remagine something even better. There were plans for a waterwheel in the nearby stream thah could power devices in the camp, and a schoolhouse with a playground. This place wasn’t just coming back to life; it was being reborn as something joyous, a real village that Clarke couldn’t wait to be member of.
“Clarke”
Bellamy’s voice rose up from the doorway. Clarke turned to greet him - and her smile fell. His brow was frowned, his shoulder were tense. Something was wrong.
“Can we talk?” He asked quickly, glancing over one shoulder, his foot digging into the dirt “It’s important”
“Sure” she said, hurrying carefully past her few remaining patients. “Of course”
Bellamy’s hand was cold against hers as he led her through the bustling camp. Octavia and Anna were leading the kids in a boisterous game of tag. In the center of camp, Glass and Luke looked over a sketch of a perimetr watchtowers. Bellamy pulled Clarke past the ovens, where fresh bread was baking; past Wells, who was etching Graham’s name into a grave marker; all the way out to the site where the new foundations for cabins were being dug.
Clarke’s stomach clenched tighter with every step. What had Bellamy seen? Was there a new danger already? Or had he thought about it and decided not to forgive her, after all?
They eventually reached a cleared patch of charred grass in the corner of the camp. Bellamy stopped and turned silently to face Clarke, his eyebrows raised as though he was waiting for some sort of reaction.
She shook her head glancing around, finding nothing particularly worrying here.
“What do you think?” He said gesturing around him
“Think of what?”
His eyes darted around nervously “The view from this spot”
“Um… it’s nice?”
“Good… good…” then he took a deep breath and said “Do you think it’d be a good spot for a cabin? For the two of us?”
Clarke’s head went fuzzy as she tried to make sance of his words “A cabin for…”
Then, in instant, Bellamy’s nervousness seemed to drain away. “For us, Clarke” he took her hand and squeezed it… and slowly got down on one knee.
“Oh” Clarke said, her voice no more than a breath.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out a silver ring.
“Bellamy” she whispered “Where did you get that?”
“I traded for it” he said, almost as cavalier as usual… except for the fact that his hands were trembling.
She then recognized it - the deep blue stone in the centre - and her hand flew up to her chest pressing hard to keep her heart from bursting out of her. “Bel, that’s… that’s…”
“A Griffin family heirloom” he said grinning
“Where did you… how did you…?” She shook her bead speechless. This was the stone her ancestores had brought with them to the Colony from Earth, passed down through her family for generations.
“Like I said I traded for it… with your mother” He held it out to her, tentatively, almost as if there was a part of him that didn’t believing she’d take it.
But she did, crandeling it in her palm “What did you trade it for?”
“A promise” Bellamy said, reaching out to cup her hands in both of his. “I promised to love you, respect you, honor you, protect you, defend you, tease you, argue with you…” He laughed “And so on…” his face fell serious. “For the rest of my life and yours… Clarke, will you marry me?”
Her knees gave out. She put her hands on his shoulders and let herself slide to the ground beside him, her arms slung around his shoulders, her kiss serving as the only answer he’d ever need.
But just in case she pulled away and murmured against his lips “Yes”
They kissed again, and as they sat in the soil, entwined together, it felt to Clarke as if it wasn’t just this tiny piece of land they were claiming, it was the whole camp, the hills and the mountians and the lakes and the rivers around them and everything beyond that.
Despite everything they’d faced since landing on Earth, right now it seemed as though the entire planet was finally saying what Bellamy was murmuring to her right now.
“Welcome home”
Out of the Ashes, Into the Fire - THE 100 REWRITE Chapter Sixteen
[THE 100 MASTERLIST]
Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
Summary: Finn's actions had sown discord in Camp Jaha, not only among the people of the Ark, who didn't want to risk their lives for him and because of him but also between Michelle and Clarke whose opinions of him clashed, straining their close sisters-lilke relationship... and Michelle found solace and support in someone she never thought she would become so infatuated with one day, and her relationship with Murphy was also disapproved of by Clarke, which certainly didn't help strenghtening their bond.
Words: 4.6k
Warnings: The 100 season 2 spoilers (episode 8 “Spacewalker”), arguments, Finn being the dumb motherfucker he is and Raven is pissing me off I swear, angst, guns, blood, death, grief, little fluff, public execution
It had been a moment since Clarke left Camp Jaha to go and meet with the commander and the Grounders. Everyone was a little tensed, waiting for her return but what most of them were really waiting for was to know if they were going to be killed by the Grounders, like their Commander threatened when Jaha turned up to camp when everyone thought he was dead already. Michelle was anxious for her best friend and sister to come back safe and sound, and when the camp’s guards, including Belamy and Michelle herself though she didn’t have a gun as she wasn’t a member of the guard, saw figures move in the fog of the night, approaching the main gate and holding up flaming torches, they raised their weapons, narrowing their eyes trying to determine who it was. After a second, Bellamy and Michelle saw Clarke, walking in between a couple of Grounders mounted on horses. The two looked at each other, and he lowered his gun.
“Hold your fire. She’s back.” He spoke. They powered up the gate and opened the gate. Michelle took a step forward, to go meet her first but when she saw Finn jogging towards her, she clenched her jaw and rolled her eyes with a silent sigh, crossing her arms over her chest.
“Shut the gate.” Clarke instructed and while a guard closed it behind her, she dragged Finn away with her and Michelle just stood there next to Bellamy, glancing at the two quite scary-looking Grounders stil outside the camp. She eventually walked away, followed by Bellamy, catching up with Finn and Clarke who were met by Abby. She hugged her daughter. A crowd gathered around them as everyone was curious upon seeing Clarke return. Raven arrived as well.
“What did she say?” Abby inquired. “Is there a chance for a truce?”
“Yes.” She said faintly and Finn and Michelle started at her, both noticing that something else was on her mind.
“What’s wrong?” He asked and she slowly turned her face to him, preoccupied.
“They want you. If we want a truce, we have to give them Finn.”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Raven obviously didn’t want to believe this, and Michelle looked away, annoyed that she was still acting like her dear boyfriend didn’t actually slaughter an entire Grounder village for nothing, but she just bit her lips and kept her mouth shut because she didn’t want to start a fight just now but if Raven kept getting her nerves, she wouldn’t be so quiet.
“That’s their offer.”
“That’s not an offer. It’s a punishment.”
“For what happened at the village.” Finn put two and two together. Michelle shot up her eyebrows; Finn was getting on her nerves too. “Blood for blood.”
“That’s insane.”
“Not as much as what happened to the village.” Michelle spoke, granting her a look from literally all five of them, with Raven giving her a death stare but she just held her gaze. She wasn’t scared of Raven and didn’t really care if she was hurting her feelings. She wasn’t completely crazy for thinking he deserved some kind of punishment for such gruesome wanton killings. Abby turned her face back to her daughter.
“If we refuse…”
“They attack.” Clarke declared.
“I say we give him up.” Someone yelled in the crowd, and others agreed, saying to get rid of him. The people had no desire to get into a war with the Grounder that would result in them being butchered by said Grounder.
“Give him to the Grounders.” A man threateningly approached the group in the middle of the crowd while Officer Byrne tried to calm everyone down.
“Back off.” Raven strongly pushed him away, protecting Finn and Michelle stepped back, watching Bellamy and Clarke intervened, separating the two.
“Raven, listen to me.” Clarke tried to get her to focus on her. “Nothing is gonna happen to him. I promise, okay?”
“I’m not dying for him.” Another chimed in, infuriated. “Spacewalker burned three months of oxygen from The Ark. He should’ve floated a long time ago. Throw him out.” Raven almost jumped at him, punching him hard in the face. Byrne put her hand on her shoulder, trying to get her to stop and she received a punch as well. Michelle crossed her arms, not intervening in any way and she observed two camp guards getting a hold of Raven, grabbing her arms and dragging her away while she struggled. Everyone was shouting, angry and enraged and this girl didn’t want to even understand the seriousness of what Finn had done, continuously treating him like a victim, as if he didn’t lose it and murdered around a dozen people. Finn went to isolate himself behind the Ark’s ring and Bellamy, Michelle and Clarke went to find him, seeing Murphy seated next to him.
“Hey.” Bellamy greeted Finn. “We’re reinforcing our defenses. Doubles on the perimeter. No one’s getting past that wire.”
“I’ll where they’re thin.” Finn said, standing up. Michelle looked at them before glancing around, listening to the conversation. She didn’t want to say something and get into a fight with Clarke; that was what she was trying to avoid, because she didn’t care to have anyone else mad at her but as of late, she found herself disagreeing a lot more with whom she would have once stood up for no matter what could happen and she still would, but she didn't support how badly they all wanted to protect a crazy murderer. She wasn't a huge fan of Finn's before, but after what happened, she clearly didn't trust him at all and would certainly never defend him.
“You should head inside. B Corridor would be easier to defend, if it comes to that.”
“I’m not gonna hide.”
“Right now, we have to think about keeping you safe. I’m going to talk to Lincoln.” Clarke stated.
“Come on. Finn.” Bellamy urged him to come with him and the latter eventually gave in, reluctantly following him. As Clarke was about to tag along, Murphy stood up and addressed her.
“Hey. Any orders for me, princess?”
“Stay away from me.” She shrugged with a straight face.
“I was just trying to be helpful.” He added softly.
“You were with him at the village.”
“I tried to stop him.”
“Not hard enough.” Michelle frowned, staring at Clarke as she took a few steps away and Murphy rose his voice sightly.
“You know what? You wanna start blaming people, Clarke? He was out there looking for you.” She very briefly stopped in her tracks, listening before leaving without even a gance at Michelle and the latter lightly shook her head in disbelief. She felt a rift was growing between her and Clarke, putting a distance between the two of them, all because of what happened with Finn and the fact that their opinions diverged. Clarke wanted to keep him safe from any harm and Michelle didn't value his life as much, thinking that the Grounder deserved whatever revenged they asked for. And she was saddened by it. She had never thought she and the one she grew up with, who was her best friend and like her sister, woud be opposed on something like this. And meanwhile, everyone was blaming Murphy, because it was so easy to just take someone you don't like and make a scapegoat out of them but now everyone thought the same. They weren't going to fight for Finn.
“I just wish Finn would give himself up already.” Michelle groaned, taking a small turn and sitting down, her arms clutched to one another, and she slumped against the station wall, staring into space. Murphy slowly joined her and sat beside her, leaning on his kness, the weapon he had been given in his hand. “And they’re acting like because you couldn’t stop him, you’re worse than him? I mean, come on. How can they be acting like Finn is to be protected at all costs? Anyway, if they think they can protect him forever, they’re fooling themselves.”
“Well, I couldn’t agree more.”
“I never thought I’d be at loggerheads with Clarke one day.”
“You’ll be besties again, don’t worry.” He teased her and she rolled her eyes with a smirk, giving him a fake laugh.
“You know,” She straightened up, turning to Murphy. “she said that, you see, she thinks you’re rubbing off on me, and she doesn’t like that very much apparently.”
“She said that?” He seemed amused and Michelle continued, letting out a chuckle.
“Yeah. You’re a bad influence on me, John Murphy.” They both sketched a cheeky smile and laughed at the whole situation. Michelle definitely appreciated to have someone like Murphy by her side, whom she could just talk about everything with and without restraint and he wouldn’t criticize her unlike some. She woud never have thought that she would feel closer to Murphy than to Clarke, ever.
Tumblr media
The next day, Michelle was walking around the camp. Byrne had given her a machine gun too as she was a good shooter and apparently, they needed anyone that could help in case of an attack from the Grounder. She didn’t really know what to do though, because she didn’t talk to Clarke since last night and she stayed with Murphy the whole time afterwards. He seemed to be the only to really get her lately. She dwelled on her thoughts, walking in circles just looking around until she was bored of doing nothing and the stitched arrow wound on her thigh hurting a little made her stop and sit down, the strap of the gun hanging from her shoulder, she stared into the void. As always, her mind lingered on subjects, she would rather not think of at all but here she was, thinking of Kane. She understood now that he was her father, but she had a hard time realizing it, she had in mind that if it was her father she should have as close a relationship with him as she had with her mother, and he still seemed like a stranger to her, just councilman Kane who had her locked up a year ago and whom she despised. And because she wasn’t running around camp with Clarke, she felt like Murphy must have felt for so long, like she was being put to the side and somewhat ignored. From where she was seated, she could see all the guards standing by the Ark station’s front door and taking cover near the main gate and she stayed there, looking from afar. She straightened up, frowning in confusion, when she saw Abby, followed by Bellamy and Clarke walking up to the gate. The gate was opened, and Michelle decided to approach but didn’t come as near as to stand by Bellamy and Clarke’s side.
“Where’s the boy?” The Grounder inquired. They had stayed right in front of the camp’s gate all night long.
“We are not giving him up. We’re ready to fight, if that’s what it comes to.” Abby declared, and Michelle rolled her eyes. Clarke glanced at her, and she held her gaze and only looked away when a horn blew in the distance and the Grounders rode away.
“Watch the woods. Watch for movement.” Bellamy ordered as they left. Michelle was even more confused and rose her arm, looking through the rifle scope to look around the woods and when this familiar voice rose, she parted her lips in surprise, lowering the gun and staring straight ahead, taking a few steps forward. She remembered wondering where he had gone a few days ago and there he was. Kane crossed the edge of the forest and marched toward camp, yelling at the guards not to shoot. She found herself a little unsettled when she thought of him as “dad” but just shook it off. She cleared her throat, trying to compose herself and not seem too affected by his return, keeping a straight face as she looked at him. She ignored the glance Clarke gave her, not taking her eyes off the two adults at the gate. Now, her best friend knew who he was supposed to be to her.
“You can’t be out in the open.” Bellamy said, walking up to Abby and Kane, along with Clarke. “We need to get somewhere safe.”
“It’s safe, for the moment.” He gave them a reassuring smile and as they walked in the camp, he noticed Michelle and as she simply walked away, turning her back to him, he let his smile fade for a second and both Clarke and Bellamy couldn’t help but look at her quickly, except that only Clarke knew what was up. With all that was going on, Michelle really just needed to isolate a little for the moment. When Murphy ran into her and told her Raven had asked her to join them at the dropship where they were smuggling Finn the dropship where they were bringing Finn after sneaking him out of camp to take him away from the Grounders. Michelle therefore left camp with him and walked through the forest. She had a gun as well, but she obviously didn’t come to protect Finn as she didn’t care much about him. She came because Murphy asked her to and because Clarke would be there, and she wanted to try and maybe make it less awkward but really, she came mainly because of and for Murphy and she would rather be far away from Kane than stay in camp.
“Are you going to talk to Kane?”
“No. I don’t care that he’s my father, he’ll never feel like it to me.” She replied bitterly, looking around them as they approached the dropship’s site. They walked across the burned Groundes’s bodies decaying on the floor, among the leaves and when they entered the dropship, they were welcomed by Bellamy’s gun aiming at them. Raven frowned when she saw Michelle accompanying Murphy. The latter raised his hands at Bellamy holding them at gun point.
“Murphy. Michelle.” He lowered his gun, confused as to why they were here. “What are you two doing here?”
“I believe I was invited.”
“I thought we could use an extra gun.” Raven told Bellamy, and she then stared at Michelle.
“Might be a good idea.” Bellamy agreed.
“But I never asked her to come.” The tone of her voice showed how disepleased she was to see her here with them.
“Hey, I told her to come. You need an extra gun? She’s a better shooter than I am so here she is.”
“And I'm not just gonna kill Finn because I don't like him, I'm bored so I'm gonna help you.” She wasn’t bored at all actually, but none of needed to know of the inner struggle she was put through by the news of who her father was and her and Clarke drifting away from each other because of the whole Finn situation.
“Finn should’ve been right behind you.” Raven then observed as Murphy and Michelle walked past Bellamy and her.
“Don’t worry. The spacewalker’s gonna be fine.” Murphy retorted. About a minute later, Finn barged in, carrying a passed-out Clarke in his arms. Both Michelle and Bellamy rushed towards them.
“What happened?” Bellamy inquired.
“A Grounder hit her on the head.”
“Put her here.” Murphy put a soft bag for her head and Finn settled her on the floor carefully.
“I need a, uh, bandage, a wrap, anything.” Bellamy kneeled next to Clarke and Murphy looked around the room and found what he was asking for.
“Here.” He handed it to him. Michelle kneeled in turn, worried for her childhood best friend. Clarke had the side of her head covered in blood.
“Hold her head.” Michelle obliged and put her hands beneath her head, slightly lifting it from the bag she was resting on. He tried to call out to her, but she remained unresponsive for a short moment, until her eyes blinked. Murphy placed a gentle hand on Michelle’s shoulder and he and Bellamy attempted to reassure her as she was visibly worried and upset about her closest friend being in that state and she just nodded. She would get better, it was just a hit on the head with some blood but especially right now, when their relationship wasn’t at its best, it was even more disquieting for her. She just wished Clarke never got so infatuated with Finn in the first place and right now she wouldn’t be actively fighting to protect him from the Grounders’s wrath, when he was totally at fault and desired to be punished by the people he wronged so deeply. Michelle was even more annoyed with him because he played it out like he was the victim and certainly didn’t care that Murphy was taking all the blame for it. They all raised their heads when Finn stormed out of the dropship, saying that he got her killed. He didn’t because she was still very much breathing, but it was time he blamed himself for something that was totally his fault.
“I’ll watch her, you can go stand guard outside.” Raven’s tone of voice was soft as she addressed Bellamy, Michelle and Murphy caring for Clarke.  The young woman was reluctant to leave her best friend’s side but ultimately, they were at better odds if the three shooters were guarding outside and she knew Raven would indeed watch and care for her, they weren’t friends themselves, but she seemed to appreciate Clarke and vice versa. The three walked outside the dropship and Finn went back inside after a brief moment pouting. Bellamy went to one side and Michelle and Murphy went the opposite, trying to cover as much ground as possible, remaining on the former camp’s grounds.
“Do you think I should go and talk to him?” Michelle asked, thoughtful as she carefully watched the surroundings like a hawk. Murphy glanced at her, raising his eyebrows at the question and shrugged.
“Do you want to give him a shot at being your dad?”
“Ugh, I don’t know.” She sighed.
“Hey.” He turned to her, and she stopped in her tracks, facing him. “I’m not a genius but if you’re thinking about it so hard, maybe you want to give him a chance. You lost your mom. You’ve got only one parent left.”
“He used to be such a douchebag though. I’ve always hated him.”
“Maybe try talking about to Abby, and then to him, and see where it goes. You got to try to know if it’ll work or not.” She looked up at the sky, exhaling heavily. In not even two months yet, she had been sent to her death -along other teenagers- to the ground, she lost her mom tragically, she lashed out at Kane, blaming him for it, some boy got her and her childhood best friend to grow distant and she found out Kane was the father her mom never wanted to tell her about. She was just 18 years old and was kind of overwhelmed by everything she had to deal with. They circled around the dropship and noticed movements in the distance and his behind two large, burned tree trunks in the front of the dropship.
“We got company. Get out here.” Bellamy yelled at the three inside the dropship. Finn was the first one to step outside, followed by Clarke, who Michelle was glad to see standing and walking, seemingly well but she didn’t look at her for long, feeling awkward. “Hey, get down. Grounders.”
They found themselves surrounded by Grounders in a place they thought they could hide Finn and eventually had to fell back inside the dropship instead of staying in cover outside. Murphy and Bellamy both stood near the drapes covering the entrance and peeked outside.
“They’re not moving any closer.” Murphy observed.
“They’re staying out of range. They’ll be waiting until it’s dark.” Bellamy said, stepping away, looking at the others.
“If we hit them now, we take them by surprise.”
“We don’t even know how many of them are there.” Clarke retorted to Murphy.
“I’m not hearing any better ideas, Clarke.”
“We’ll give them something.” Raven figured, looking into the void, thinking.
“All they want is Finn.” Bellamy spoke.
“Finn wasn’t the only one at the village.” She declared and, looking at her with straight faces, Michelle and Murphy both started to feel that something was off. He frowned, speaking up.
“Whoa. Raven, I came here to protect him. You were the one who wanted me to come. You—” She stared at him as he connected the dots not even trying to hide the fact that she only wanted him to come in case the Grounders came so she could give him off to them and keep a little boyfriend, who wasn't even actually her boyfriend anymore, safe. Murphy glanced at Finn and then back at Raven, smirking. “That’s why you asked me to come along?”
“Enough Grounders saw him. They’d believe he was the shooter.”
“You sick bitch.”
“Fuck you.” Michelle vehemently spats at Raven, almost stepping towards her to push her against the wall, but she chose to hold herself back because she had a paralized leg and she didn’t want to be responsible for any more damage. She clenched her jaw and fists, digging her nails into the palm of her hands.
“Raven, you don’t mean this.” Clarke shook her head.
“You know what they do to people.”
“They want a murderer. We’ll give them one. Drop your gun.” As she aimed her gun, Michelle was about to instantly aim back at her with hers, but she watched Murphy walk up to her, staring into her eyes, with loathing. Michelle brought her gun to her shoulder anyway and standing by Murphy’s side, she held Raven at gun point and would remain in that position until she put down her gun. She was done with Raven’s bullshit.
“Put it down, Raven. Like it or not, he’s one of us.” Clarke insisted on trying to make her change her mind.
“I said, drop it.” She meancingly stepped forward, almost getting the gun right against Murphy’s chest when Finn intervened and forced her to put down her gun and stood in front of her, distancing her from Murphy. Michelle let out a heavy sigh and put down her gun in turn, glaring at her. Murphy stepped back, and Michelle glanced at him, her gaze going from a death stare to a softer expression. “We’re not doing this. They’s ve got us surrounded. The only thing we can do… is stay and defend this place.”
“I’m with you.” Bellamy nodded, imitated by Clarke and as Finn went to look at Raven, she nodded as well. He then turned his face to Murphy and Michelle.
“Michelle? Murphy?”
“Yeah?” He replied bitterly, biting his lips, keeping it together in front of the others but Michelle noticed he had teary eyes, and he wasn’t only angry and frustrated with Raven, he was also hurt that she though of using him for her own gain and Michelle really just wanted to beat the shit out of her, but she controlled herself.
“Go upstairs, watch the rear.” Murphy quietly nodded, looking down. “I’ll take the lower level. You three, take the front gate. That’s the plan, all right?”
“Clarke.” The latter looked at Michelle when she called out to her as she walked past, following Murphy up the ladder. “I hope you’re having fun with your new best friends.”
“Michelle… wait. Please.” The latter ignored her and disappeared through the hatch, joining Murphy upstairs. She somewhat regretted this little passive-aggressive comment she made but she was so worked up by what Raven had tried to do, having literally no consideration for Murphy. Even Bellamy and Clarke who didn’t like him very much, never pulled something like that.
“Hey, John… You okay?” She asked softly, coming up behind him, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder and he sighed, his lips sucked into his mouth as he looked out the whole he blew when he escaped the dropship a month ago and he very swiftly brought his hand to his face to wipe his eyes and nodded, clearing his throat.
“Yeah. Living the dream.” He said sarcastically. Michelle then drew him into a hug, and he wrapped his arms around her, resting his face on her shoulder. She was practically the same height as him, so he didn’t have to bent over. They remained in that position for a while instead of watching the rear as requested until they heard Finn climb up the ladder and join them on the upper floor. They let go of each other, breaking the embrace and stared at him. “What are you doing?”
“I’ve thought about it. I have to surrender myself to the Grounders.”
“Glad you’ve finally come to your senses.” Michelle retorted and he glanced down, almost looking ashamed and regretful. They then helped him out through the hole in the wall and watched him discreetly walk to the front of the dropship, going around it. It didn’t take long to heard someone scream his name when he was taken by the Grounders; and the voice was Clarke’s.
Tumblr media
Night had fallen, everyone was gathered outside the gates of Camp Jaha, watching in the distance with apprehension as the Grounders prepared for Finn's upcoming execution, hundreds of torches lit like flaming stars on the ground, thousands of those Grounders swarming in the tents set up around a log he was setting up just in front of them, so that he could watch their friend die. Well, not everyone’s friend. Michelle was in the middle of the crowd, standing close to Murphy, a little further away from Clarke, Raven, Bellamy, Abby and Kane standing at the front line but she could see him and when she saw the two young women step away with Bellamy, she frowned, wondering what they were going to try now. They certainly couldn’t get him out of this mess, it was too late, and Clarke wasn’t stupid enough to try something so reckless and get herself killed in the process, even for Finn. Sher instinctively made her way through the crowd, getting closer the enclosure barbed wire fence, finding herself next to Abby and Kane and she watched Clarke walk through the Grounders, her mouth opened, frowning.
“What is she doing?” She anxiously asked to herself but spoke outloud. She twitched slightly when she felt a hand and looked up at Kane as he gently squeezed her shoulder, trying to reassure her. For some reason, she didn’t push him away and it brought a little comfort as she watched Clarke far off, with bated breath. A moment later, Finn was brought by a few Grounders to meet his end and he was tied to the wooden pole they put up and after talking to the commander, the blonde slowly walked to Finn, kissed him and hugged him tightly for a long minute, probably speaking to him. When she stepped away, Finn’s head fell forward and his t-shirt was entirely soaked in blood. The Grounders were stopped by the commander from attacking Clarke and in Camp Jaha, Raven let out a gut-wrenching scream at the sight of Finn’s dead body, caught by Bellamy as she fell to her knees, crying her eyes out. Despite the distance, Michelle could tell Clarke was crying too but now, she was kind of relieved, with Finn gone, she could maybe try to patch things up with Clarke and get her sister and best friend back. She wouldn’t be the same but of course, none of them had been the same since they landed to the ground and had to fight for survival on their own. Being at risk of dying literally everyday transformed them all, and the fact that they were almost still children and they had to grow in these circumstances, didn’t make it any easier for any of them.
The 100 Braindump (1)
This is literally so late, but whatever, I only started watching this show last month.
So, I will start with a disclaimer: I only watched up until 6x07, and I have a vague idea of what happened till the end. I am in no way trying to provoke or anger anybody; I just want to express how I interpreted the show.
I will start with what I think about Clarke and her character in terms of the story. Clarke spent the first 4 seasons trying her best to save as many people as possible. But she's human, so she made mistakes. Who doesn't? In general, she was well-intentioned, and despite all the wrongs she's committed, they were mostly justified or at least understandable. Her journey in season 2 was about facing the reality of being a leader (no good choices). Her major inner conflict that season was trying to reconcile who she is and her morals with what she had to do as leader of her people. This is mainly seen through her interactions with Lexa. In Lexa, Clarke saw a path that her life would take depending on what type of leader she chose to be. Lexa was ruthless, calculating, cold, and single-minded in that she'd do anything in the best interest of her people. What is interesting about their dynamic in season 2 is that Clarke could see past Lexa's walls almost immediately. Clarke didn't just see ruthless Heda; a glimpse into Clarke's future if she let her burdens drown her. Clarke saw past that and saw glimpses of Lexa, the girl who was forced to grow up too fast and buried herself in her walls to protect her heart (I don't think Lexa and Heda are separate per se; they're intertwined, but I do believe there is a clear distinction between them). In season 2, Clarke opened her mind to Lexa's philosophy and advice (love is weakness) and tried to internalize it. But we also saw Clarke reject parts of it because it isn't the type of leader she wanted to become(she didn't want to lose herself to her duty, which is part of why she left after Mount Weather). Then, we saw Lexa do the same. We saw her choose to lower her walls, open her heart, and let it help empower her head when making decisions. So Clarke learned from Lexa, and Lexa learned from Clarke. They taught each other how to balance their heads and their hearts when leading. Now, back to Clarke, her turning point in season 2 regarding her learning to reconcile herself as a person and as a leader was the finale, where she chose to commit genocide to save the 48. This decision haunted Clarke heavily; she knew it was wrong, but she had no choice. In that moment, Clarke learned that she would turn herself into a monster (how she viewed herself) if it meant her people's safety. So, I think that her mindset when she left Camp Jaha was that she knew if she stayed, people would look to her as their leader. Clarke is a protector; she would have led them if she stayed. So, how I viewed it was that she was afraid that she would lose herself to her role as leader if she stayed. That she would have to sacrifice her goodness and kindness (because Clarke was always a kind character) to be capable as their leader. She needed time to regain herself before taking on more burdens. And she probably also figured that her duty to them was done; she got them out of Mount Weather, and that's the only reason she took charge in the first place. Her mistake in that scene was choosing to trust Bellamy. I think she saw in him the person he could have grown to be and not the person he actually was(let's be real, in seasons 1-3, he was a follower, and his morals usually reflected those of who he followed). This is a common thing with Bellamy; the characters around him see him as the person he pretends to be and not who he actually is (this is a loose claim considering how inconsistent his character is ).
I get Clarke was scared and already grieving Finn most likely, but blaming Murphy for what he did was dumb. Murphy really couldn’t do anything. He’d just been accepted back into the group and given enough trust to have a gun. Based on their unofficial hierarchy Finn outranked him. That was abundantly clear throughout the entire situation because Murphy was taking Finn’s orders. I doubt he was wholly convinced that Finn wouldn’t shoot him if he got in his way. If you’re blaming anyone other than Finn then you may be able to reach for Bellamy. Maybe. Bellamy knew Finn was unstable and decided to escort the injured back to Camp Jaha instead of staying with him. Almost anyone could’ve done that. Even leaving Octavia to go with Finn would’ve been better, as she had social weight and authority to make him stop and listen. Tbh the way they treated Murphy from the jump was unfair. They almost mistakenly killed him with no real proof, and got mad when he wanted the actual killer to be punished? Charlotte was not a toddler, she knew what she’d done. She also knew that Wells was not his father. Her lil unhinged ass did not need to stick around. Compare Charlotte to Anya’s Second, Artigas, Madi, Ethan, or even the lil boy who helped Jaha in the Desert. That shit made zero sense. If they didn’t wanna execute her than they should’ve exiled her like they did Murphy. The grounders would’ve most likely adopted her(Skaikru didn’t know that but still). And also, the Grounders not introducing themselves to Skaikru was unrealistic. Jasper crossed their border but obviously he didn’t know it was a border. Ain’t no way they ain’t see that The 100 were experiencing Earth for the first time.
The 100 rewatch 2023 S1 E5
Episode “Twilight’s last gleaming”
Post-coital Clarke and Finn having a chat surrounded by ridiculously cheesy candlelight. They obviously have found a valve to let go of their stress, despair and anger. They’ve calmed down. Clarke, also very obviously, fell hard for Finn “I wanted it to be you.” Ouff.. Like i said, this will hurt.
The ark: Imprisoned Abby is visited by chancellor Jaha. The oxygen supply will run off way earlier than they (and Jake Griffin) have expected. The culling of 320 people is already decided by the council - without Abby. She’s shook and angry. It’s THE MURDER of 320 innocent people! She still holds desperately onto her hope to hear from Raven, so that it could be prevented. Abby is pardoned for now. She has to treat people who are suffering from the reduced oxygen supply.
And there’s our queen Raven on her way down to earth in that escape pod. That thing is bearly surviving the entering into the atmosphere. I am holding my breath...
Finn and Clarke still not done with their cheesy chit chat. They’re out of the bunker now, sitting together under the nights sky, when Clarke suddenly notices Raven’s escape pod falling towards the ground, which Finn falsly thought of as a shooting star.
Lol, Bellamy and his glorious threesome. Good for him. Octavias shouts are wakening up the whole camp and he’s out of his tent half naked within seconds. O’s also noticed the thing that’s falling down to earth from the sky. Since it’s NOT a shooting star (oh Finn...), they immediately assume it must be sent down from the ark. Everyone is excited! But Bellamy tells everyone to stay back in camp until the morning “bc it’s not save” out there in the night. O insists, but he refuses. He’s tense - and we all know why. When the arkers come down, nothing would save him from being punished for shooting the chancellor... He has to go to where the pod came down alone and he will have to be there FIRST, if he wants to prevent that... Selfserving ass? Yes? Yes... Aw man...
The ark: Tor Lemkin and his little daughter Reese are visiting doctor Griffin. The child can’t see anything with her right eye. She’s going to be blind in a forseeable future as a result of the constantly reduced oxygen supply... Abby’s upset and desperate to be unable to cure it. Is there still hope? Is Raven still alive?
We see Raven on the ground now. The pod is damaged and she’s unconscious and bleeding. Oh god... Raven, please be alive! So many people are counting on you!
Finn and Clarke are back in the dropship camp and find Bellamy gone off alone into the woods to search for the pod. They’re immediately preparing themselves to follow him. Clarke’s got a certain suspicion. Bellamy was always so eager to make sure that the arkers think that no-one of the 100 is still alive - so that they have to assume that the earth is still uninhabitable and don’t come down. Clarke blames herself to let herself being so easily distracted - by Finn, that’s clear. She doesn’t say it. But even FInn himself knows what she meant. You can see it in his face for a brief second. He still follows her as she’s off into the woods after Bell.
O has followed Bellamy too. She finds and confronts him, calls him a liar. She’s clearly upset that he wanted to go alone to the pod just to get himself whatever is in it. But he had his reasons to lie to her. “I did this for you, to protect you.” He now admits that he shot the chancellor back on the ark just to get imprisoned and to be able to follow O down to earth. We see Octavia’s face fall. She can’t believe it! Bell’s telling her about a deal he took to get a place on the dropship. “Do this, kill him, and they get me on the dropship - and i did it.” Aw man...You can clearly see how the truth pains him, how it tortures him what he did. But he stands by it. He HAD to do it to protect what’s most precious to him. O’s dumbfounded and completely shocked. “You shot the chancellor?!” - “He floated our mother! He locked you up! He deserved it” -  well, i understand where you’re coming from, honey, but THAT is some avengeful shit coming out of your beautiful mouth there, jesus... O’s apalled “I didn’t ask you to do that!” - “You’re right.” Bellamy steps back a little, his face growing cold and determined now. “I made the choice. This is on me.” And that’s why he has to handle whatever came down with the pod all by himself and alone.
The ark: Kane and Jaha talking. And Jaha’s bringing me at the verge of real tears here. He’s willing to share the fate of those who had be chosen to be killed in the culling for the sake of the others. And he’s also willing to give up his job as the chancellor and to pass it onto Kane. Who would have thought? Kane wants to hold him back, but to no avail. Jaha sees “strength” in Kane - something, that is referred to again later in the show and we as audience still have to find out.
On earth Bell’s found the wrecked escape pod - with the still unconscious and clearly injured Raven in it.  And instead of helping her or at least checking on her vital signs, he has the audacity to steal the radio from the pod. He’s throwing it into a nearby river. WHAT?! NO, BELL, NO GODDAMNIT!! This is basically the death sentence for the people on the ark! WTF! He can’t possibly know this. But still. NO! Saving his own skin is clearly the only thing that he’s caring about atm. But honestly, what exactly would WE do in his place? I have no idea. Running away maybe...
Raven’s alive! Thank goodness. Clarke’s right in time to greet her and to witness Ravens first steps on the ground. Raven’s in awe about the nature, the air and the soft rain that’s falling. You can almost feel with her. It’s a beautiful, peaceful little moment. Clarke smiles. But then... Raven’s seeing Finn. And everything changes. Raven rushes into his arms. Finn is clearly very surprised to see her. But Raven’s just relieved and so happy to see him - and then she kisses him. And he kisses her back. We see Clarke’s smile fading away, her whole expression falls. See? I told you that it would hurt... I wanna hug her.. Obviously Finn and Raven are a thing - or at least, they had been on the ark.  - Clarke’s face is completely expressionless now. Finn comes over, he tries to apologize, but she’s tense and turns him down. She seems almost relieved to have something more important to do now: Treating Raven’s wounds.
Raven’s telling them that Clarke’s mum had the initial idea to come down to the ground, so that the ark could be informed that the 100 are still alive and earth is inhabitable. She’s also telling them about the planned culling, since the oxygen supply runs off quickly now. They have to send word to the ark RIGHT NOW! But when they’re searching for the radio in the pod, they found it gone. Stolen. And Clarke has a very certain idea who did it. She’s very angry - and off to search for Bellamy immediately.
On the ark Abby confronts Jaha.  All of the decisions were made too fast. She proposes some alternatives they still could try - but Jaha turns her down, telling her that the culling is “the only solution”. When she goes she appeals to his conscience: “What would you tell Wells?” - Jaha’s pensive now. But he doesn’t step back from his decision.
Abby’s off to get that old video from Jake which he made to inform the people of the ark about the failing survival systems - that same video Jake had given his life for. She’s determined to send it, to make it public now by herself. You go, Abby!
On the ground, O’s running through the woods. Is she being hunted? She falls down a hill and loses consciousness. (??? That’s so... off the storyline right now. But well...)
Meanwhile Clarke finds Bellamy and immediately asks him about the radio. “Hey, princess, taking a walk in the woods?” he teases mockingly. Now he’s back at being a selfassured ass, i see. Sigh. Clarke’s informing him, that if they don’t radio to the ark that they’re still alive and earth still inhabitable, basically 300 people would be killed up there to save oxygen. You can clearly see that this is catching him on the wrong foot. Clarke basically stakes him with her index finger, pushes him. “And it’ll be YOUR people! Working people!” People from his own station? He’s clearly shocked, but he tries to hide it. Then Raven arrives, she’s recognizing his name. They were looking for him on the ark bc he shot down the chancellor... Finn and Clarke both look at him in shock. Clarke’s connecting the dots quickly: “THAT’S why you took the wristbands!” Finn brings it on point “All that “Whatever the hell we want!” and you’re just caring about saving your own skin!”
Bellamy is cornered now. He even attacks Raven - who provoked him, but... ouch... CALM DOWN YOU TWO! Clarke’s going in between and stops them. Bellamy scoffs and turns his back on them. “Jaha deserved  to die. You all know that.” But suddenly Raven’s saying, that Jaha isn’t dead. Bell turns around, dumbfounded. He’s clearly surprised. “What?!” “You’re a lousy shot” Raven mocks him. But he doesn‘t really listen. You can see the relief in Bellamy’s eyes now though he still can’t believe it properly, and Clarke immediately catches on it. “Don‘t you know what this means? You’re NOT a murderer! You always did what you had to do to protect your sister. THAT’S who you are!” She’s seeing right through him. In fact, she always did. SInce the very first day on the ground, when she came for him bc of his gun. It’s as if she could sense the sensitive and caring heart he’s wearing underneath all his asshole attitude and hardness. And Bellamy is so baffled, that he can’t even reply. Why does she even care about him that much? Why? He can’t help staring into her wide, blue, pleading eyes. She’s intense, urgent, stares right back, tries to bring up this “good and protective side” within him: “And you can do it again! By protecting 300 of your people! Where’s the radio?” We can see that she reaches him. But now he averts his eyes. “It’s too late...”
On the ark Abby managed to publish Jake’s video. Everyone listens. Kane and his men are coming to arrest her. Again. But her message is sent now. And every citizen of the ark knows.
On earth the delinquents search the river for the radio. They’re finding it, but it’s damaged. “Like i said. It’s too late.” Bellamy. WIth his arms crossed. Clarke jumps into his face “Do you have ANY idea what you did? DO YOU EVEN CARE?” - “You asked me to help. I helped.” He answers stoically. He’s shut himself up to her and the others again. “300 people are gonna die today because of you!” Clarke screams. But suddenly smartass Raven has another idea to “contact” the ark...
On the ark they’re accusing Abby to have made everything even worse by publishing the video. But look! The people of the ark have come to volunteer, willing to give their lifes freely to save the other inhabitants - especially their children. Tor Lemkin is the first to volunteer. He’s doing it for his little daughter. It’s heartbreaking. And there are more and more people coming in to volunteer. Oh god... this is really heartwrenching. Jaha is clearly surprised. “Jake was right. It brings out the best in us.” Imma cry...
On earth Raven’s working on the wrecked escape pod. She’s removing parts from the device. She tries to chat with Clarke - who clearly holds her distance and answers evasively. Raven is suspicious why, but she’s not digging any deeper.
On the ark the final list for the culling stands. Jaha still wants to resign as chancellor. He executed Jake Griffin, his own best friend, whose message now helped them all to find a solution together. He clearly can’t bear that thought.
Meanwhile litte Reese and her dad are saying goodbye. The child has no idea that she won’t see her dad ever again. Kill me. That’d hurt less. Honestly. Wtf, i want to quit. Tor’s expression when he watches his daughter go tears my heart apart. I shit you not.
It’s night again on the ground. The kids are creating some kind of launch pads for firework rockets that they’re supposed to send up into the nights sky. So THAT’S what Raven meant by “We just have to let them know, that we’re here.” Great idea!
But on the ark the culling is about to start. Kane’s showing his heart for the first time “We can’t affort any more people.” If Raven should send a signal, he would call it off immediately. Abby looks at him, a little surprised maybe. She’s thankful. And there are the volunteers entering section 16...
Parallel to that we see the kinds getting the firework ready. But it’s too late... When we see the rockets start into the sky, their lights illuminate the kids faces on earth. But the people in section 16 on the ark are dying already. And we as audience are forced to watch this, helplessly. Look... Tor Lemkin has the hair pin of his daughter in his hand until the very last breath leaves his body... He’s gone now. Like all the others. And i remember myself crying like a child when i watched this for the first time. This is so incredibly sad and SO UNNECESSARY! My heart aches. Seeing that pile of boots at the door of the locked room doesn’t make me feel any better tbh. Geez, am i crying again? Yes. Yes i do. Shit...
When Abby and the others enter the room to check on the people (so many dead people...), she finds that particular hair pin on the ground. And now... i’m BAWLING. Thanks... Little Reese has lost her father. And it was all for nothing. I cannot...
On earth the 100 witness the fireworks exploding in the sky. “Can you wish on this kind of a shooting star?” Clarke muses. Bell sounds lost. He looks at her. “I wouldn’t even know what to wish for.” But he’s curious. “What about you?” Clarke sees Raven in Finns arms. It clearly hurts her. But Raven smiles at her, so full of hope - so oblivious. It hurts her even more. But she smiles back. Strong girl.
Now we see Octavia at the foot of the hill where she fell unconscious before. (Did she lie there ALL THAT TIME? omg.. And why isn’t Bellamy worried already? She’s missing isn’t she? lol... this doesn’t make much sense but ok...) And when she awakes now, she sees a dark, tall stranger towering over her. (Lincoln! Yeay!) She stares.
On the ark, Abby and Jaha talking about forgiveness, one of the main themes of the whole show, in Clarke’s former prison cell. You can see her drawings on the walls EVERYWHERE. “We make the best choices that we can. And hope that there’s a forgiving god.” Jaha says. (That’s not the last time that we will hear those words!) Both, Abby and Jaha are looking out of the window down to earth far below them. “If we deserve to be forgiven.” Abby’s answer is another quote that’s recurring throughout the whole series. And now they’re seeing it down on the earth: The signal lights, the fireworks from the kids! They almost can’t believe it! The 100 are alive!!! It may be too late for Tor Lemkin and the others... but suddenly... there’s hope again for the rest of them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another breathtaking, exciting, unnerving and intriguing episode which kept me on the edge on my seat. Especially in the end and especially while watching it for the first time. I will never forget. I was... shook to the core. Almost every episode has something like that now, a situation that completely WRECKS me.
And yes, of course, It’s Bellamy’s fault. If he hadn’t stolen the radio the 100 would’ve send a signal up to the ark way earlier - and the culling most likely wouldn’t have happen at all. That is hard. And i’m SURE it must be a very heavy burden to bear for Bellamy, who’s well aware of what he had (most likely) done. Therefore his almost hopeless answer for Clarke in the end. “I wouldn’t even know what to wish for.” It’s over for him. And he knows it. At some point, the arkers WILL come down to earth now that they’ve seen their signal lights. And then he will have to stand up for what he had done. At least, he isn‘t a murderer like he thought he was. But an attempted murder wouldn’t go unpunished either. He - they all - can’t know if the culling happened or not. They could only hope that their signal reaches them right in time to stop it. But if not.. I feel with Bellamy. Yes he made mistakes. Yes he made them on purpose. But that doesn’t mean he hadn’t learned from them and can be a better man now. He’s punished enough by all the guilt he has to bear now. This is what he did to himself. He only wanted to protect his sister, do be with her at all costs. And he had a very weak moment when he let his fear win over his mind and stole that damn radio. He didn’t want to face the consequences for himself. He didn’t (he COULDN’T) know that other lives would’ve been on stake... I’m SURE if he had known this before, he wouldn’t even have done this in the first place. He would’ve run away at some point maybe, before the arkers would come down. But he wouldn’t have stolen that radio. I am SURE.
What i liked: Ravens frist steps on earth. Jake Griffins video motivating the arkers.
What i disliked: The culling of course. Tor Lemkin saying goodbye to his daughter. Bellamy Blake stealing that damn radio. WTF!
Fave quote(s): “We make the best choices that we can. And hope that there’s a forgiving god.” - “You always did what you have to do to protect your sister. That’s who you are!”
Song(s)  i associate with the episode:  “World gone mad” by Bastille - “So this is where we are, it′s not where we had wanted to be. If half the world's gone mad, the other half just don′t care, you see. - When it feels like the world's gone mad and there′s nothing you can do about it, no, there′s nothing you can do about it..."

The 100 2023 rewatch 1.5
Twilight's Last Gleaming Liveblog
Oh my. I need to get ready. This is the episode that made me fall in love with this show. This show is tragedy after tragedy.
A delinquent can't catch a break.
Ok here we go.
Bleh. Post coital Flarke.
She's sweet and tender. He'a selfish ass. Oh no don't tell him you have feelings for him. "I wanted it to be you."
I should probably tell you that last night for me, wasn't really about you. Just wanted to have my first earth sex and you were around, passably cute. snickersnicker. Aren't you a fucking comedian.
Oh Jaha is telling abby that the oxygen is getting worse. Pulmonary toxicity. Prison section is on half air, and Jaha is giving her extra O2. And he's telling her that they're going to 'excise' 320 people.
And here's my baby Raven hitting atmosphere. "don't let me blow up." ooh. It looks like it's close.
More cute Flarke. And Clarke got a new shirt in the bunker. "We should share." And he's like oh we need it to keep a safe place. But he's looking at her like he's in loooove. "I wanted it to be you too," he whispers. While his girlfriend is burning up in the sky. Look Clarke see's her. Finn tells her to wish on a shooting star. And she's like what are you nuts? Nope not a shooting star.
Bellamy is in bed with two girls. I forgot about that. One of them REALLY looks like Clarke. B is stressed. He's like oh no I'm gonna get in trouble for murdering Jaha.
She is like oh maybe it's food packets. Finn is trying to delay her. That guy. Bellamy is also trying to delay people. That guy. Y'all are both shady. O is trying to push him because she doesn't know.
Uh oh. Little red headed Reese and her papa Tor Lemkin. She's gone blind in one eye. Ugh. He asks if they're going to fix it. Abby says I hope so. Abby is desperate for that radio contact from Raven. It's the only wya they can save these people. They let her out of jail to work medical because there are too many sick people.
Raven is knocked out in the pod. Clarke and Finn are back with the delinquents. Oh look Fox tattling on Bellamy. Oh look, Bellamy's snotty girlfriend. Hook up. Clarke 'should have known he'd go for that radio." Now she thinks she has to predict everything everyoone is going to do. O followed Bellamy. Calls him a selfish dick. and he tells her that he shot Jaha, and when they come down, he's dead. "someone came to me with a deal. Do this. Kill him. And they'd get me on the dropship."
The O and Bellamy conflict begins. "I didn't ask for any of this."
Kane is trying to make the culling look like an accident. Section 17. BTW that was Bellamy's section. Planning murder. Jaha approves. But Jaha has decided to be in section seventeen. He says Kane has a strength that is not weakened by sentiment. That is really mean.
Bellamy finds Raven, takes out a knife and.....
Rips the radio out. Closes door. Leaves Raven passed out. Throws radio in the river. Even as a bad guy he's not very bad. And he's getting less bad as each episode passes.
Raven. Clarke sees her. "Oh my god." "Hi. I made it?" You see that look they give each other? Yes. Princess mechanic all the way. Dump the floppy haired wonder. Y'all work well together.
Poor Clarkie when she watched Raven run up to Finn and kiss him. That is just not fair. What a jerk. Honestly. Poor Clarke she looks like her heart is broken. Man. And honestly Raven, please stop looking at him like that. HE doesn't deserve it. Although she probably ha a concussion.
Finn apologizes. Clarke doesn't wan to talk about it. He introduces them, and Raven tells her that Abby was the one to send her down. She tells her about the culling. The radio is gone. Clarke knows Bellamy took the radio.
Jaha and his chess set. Abby is scolding him for joining s 17 and saying he's copping out. Calls him a coward. She finds Jake's recording from when he wanted to expose the failing air.
O by herself in the woods, because B sent her back to camp, oh is this Lincoln coming up?
She trips down a hill.
Clarke confronts Bellamy. Hey princess you taking a walk in the woods? lol. She tells him about the culling. Finn pushes him. Raven is like oh yeah you're the one who shot Jaha. Clarke figures out that's why he took off the wristbands. Where's my radio? Raven says.
I shoulda killed you when I had the chance. Ok yeah sure big shot.
He takes her by the throat and pushes her against the tree. She whips out a knife.
She tells him he's not dead. "You're a lousy shot." Which is 100% not true. He's a great shot. So he did it on purpose. Lousy bad guy. And he looks devastated. Says it's too late. Because he dumped the radio.
Jake Griffin's announcement is playing EVERYWHERE on the ark. The air is out. Abby reports about the culling. Too late guards. Kane tough guy. She's going to be the love of your life.
Finn trying to explain he didn't think he'd see Raven again. She's like. "But you wouldn't take off your wristband. You had hope. but it's ok I get it. I was around, passably cute."
Bellamy is all gloomy now. Acting tough guy when he's all sad and heartbroken. Raven of course can figure out how to contact them wihtout the radio because she's a genius.
Kane things there are going to be riots. He blames Abby. "Tha'ts what you've done." This is like the opposite of the Bellamy/Clarke situation with murphy.
They send in Tor Lemkin to talk to Abby about the oxygen. And he hands in his dog tag to volunteer. Jaha is like "For what?"
I'm already crying.
Whimpering. Damn him. Next guy. Give my wife a little extra air. A lady without a word.
"jake was right," jaha said. "it would bring out the best in us." When I think that those bastards made their sacrifice worth absolutely fucking nothing in season 7. Shh. I'm not talking about the bad place. Just season 1.
Raven is engineering. Clarke is upset and worrying. Will the ark see their rockets?. "But your mom will be watching. I've never seen anyone love someone like she loves you."
Kane is eating crow about the volunteers. Jaha still plans on volunteering. He's feeling guilt for executing Jake. Kane says "one decision does not define a man." Ironic because this culling decision right here is the one that defines Kane and changes everything for him.
Tor Lemkin is "volunteering for an extra shift" and saying goodbye to Reese who has no clue. Abby still hoping to hear from Raven.
Kane and Abby watching the volunteers while the kids are trying to set up the rockets on earth.
Everyone sits on the floor and the music is playing. It cuts back and forth between the culling volunteers willingly going to their death to save the rest of the ark, the ark leaders watching, giving the order. Oh Jaha takes the button away from Sinclair and presses it himself so Sinclair won't have to have that on his consience.
And AFTER he presses his button, the rockets on earth take off. Abby closes her eyes in sorrow. The people in th17 start falling asleep. Tor Lemkin is looking at Reeses barette. Overvoice is Jaha offering a blessing for the dead.
He drops the fucking barette.
Abby and the doctors go into 17. They're all sleeping on the floor together. Not sleeping. Dead. Ugh. All the bodies. She walks through them with the grim music and closes the eyes of one woman and they begin carrying people out on stretchers. She picks up Tor's daughters barette and tears come to her eyes.
AND THERE ARE THE ROCKETS. Bellamy wondering if they can see the rockets from up there? Clarke asking about if you could wish on a shooting star. He says he wouldn't know what to wish for. Asks her what about you and she looks over at the unworthy Finn.
Octavia wakes up in the dark, sees a SCARY MAN. But we know it's just Lincoln. He was scary looking though. Monster looking.
Abby is sitting in Clarke's cell and staring up at the sky light. Jaha comes, offers her some booze. "We mke the best choices we can, and then we put our faith in a forgiving god," Jaha says. Do you think we deserve to be forgiven? Abby asks. And then SHE SEES THE ROCKETS.
JAHA instantly realizes that he killed people for no reason while Abby is seeing hope.
Okay, so watching Murphy's Law and Twilight's Last Gleaming one after the other, I actually have to say that I think Murphy's Law was better. Story wise. TLG is a tear jerker, don't get me wrong, but so much of it is set up, and building up to everything that comes next in the season with coming down to earth while Murphy's law is a turning point in the story from post apocalyptic Lord of the Flies as these characters abruptly grow up REAL fast and it is pretty much self contained. The main conflicts of that ep are resolved IN that ep, although it does build the new Bellarke team. TLG is slower and more about the politics and character development in a slow way, Flarke romance, Bellamy's fear of them coming down, the B and O conflict, Jaha's grief, Raven and Finn reunion. And probably most dominant, the Abby and Kane power play.
THIS is actually a replication of the same dynamic between Bellamy and Clarke in Murphy's Law, although more drawn out and political. I mean Bellarke are also in a political fight, but it's 100 kids vs the whole ARk, and it just started where Kabby have been squabbling for what seems like years. And Kane IS the soldier that Bellamy is kind of just pretending to be. ALthough he's ALL ABOUT the rules, while Bellamy has discarded them after his mom was floated and his sister was imprisoned. But Abby and Kane don't find their partnership yet in this episode, even though Bellarke and Kabby are parallel here.
It has now set up the Raven Finn Clarke love triangle. Raven's awesomeness. Finn's suckiness. The Bellarke power pairing. The missing Octavia and soon to be beloved Lincoln. Abby learns that she was right the whole time. They learn that the Ark CAN go to earth. The devastation of the Culling. The story is changing. Right here. The delinquents make contact with the Ark. We also find out why Bellamy has been such a jerk, and he finds out that he didn't kill Jaha. From now on, Bellamy also has a shift in character.
