I rewatched Encanto a few days ago and I was reminded of how much I love Isabela! I love her design, her story, everything about her. I so so understand her having to be perfect always (also I love how she can express heels fully now and I hope she grows all the plants she wants everywhere she wants) (also I just love femmes so much and we need so many more of them)

Femme lesbians stay winning! It's true! And her character development is just the best! I hope we get to see more of her in the future!

Answered here! In specifics, the duo fics of A Bell Cannot be Unrung and You Are Jesse Faden's Brother get me still, as well as Little Rumors, Little Lights.

✅ What’s something that appears in your fics over and over and over again, even if you don’t mean to?

Everyone is furrowing their brows all the time. There is so much brow furrowing.

Unintentionally (but now maybe more intentionally) a lot of characters tend to be grappling with learning how to grow and heal and escaping something, and really intentional looks at the process of growth.

🎉 What leads you to consider a fic a success?

I write it and it gets posted sdjkfsjkdfsdkfh

I'm not even kidding, I just want to be able to write and post it. I try not to let myself get caught up or guilty over ones that I don't, but as someone who struggles with completing things, being able to continually write and post stuff has been lovely. again tho, I try to remind myself the value of practice and how good it is to just write and get ideas out, because creation at any step of the process is good. Plus I recycle ideas a lot if they don't make it to a post.

🧠 Pick a character, and I’ll tell you my favorite headcanon for them.

I'm really fond of my headcanons of Dylan's body language. A lot of it just feels natural to him-- getting nervous and putting knuckles in his mouth, fiddling with things, skulking about.

I have a question about your Spones bingo- I’m writing a continuous fic where they deal with each thing on the Bingo (so they’re on shore leave, next chapter they’re underwater, next chapter they’re stargazing) but it’s all one fic- one continuous, very relaxing shore leave, would that count as a bingo?

I guess the question would be, is the entire plot of the story about a shore leave with each chapter being parts of the different prompts, or is shore leave specifically like the inspiration for one chapter?

If the fic was say, for example, a shore leave all of this happens, and then also one chapter was dedicated to the prompt of shore leave specifically, that would also count as a filling a bingo square.

If you had 1 chapter for each square as in the inspiration for the chapter, then doing all the squares would be a bingo for sure. Each fill has to be a separate chapter though, it’s can’t be mashed all into one. So if this was an extremely long oneshot, it wouldn’t count. But as separate chapters? That’s fine. Also, even if this is a multichaptered fic, you can’t mash more than 1 prompt in per chapter either. So, as an example, you can’t mash underwater and stargazing in one chapter, those have to be separate.

I hope this makes sense and clears everything up!

11) Give a summary of the plot/world/characters

My story takes place in a beach town in Maine called Slate Beach, in a world where magical creatures are known by the public but aren’t accepted by humans. Slate Beach is an exception, where the humans accept their magical neighbors. So, in the surrounding oceans and forests, there’s a higher concentration of magic than anywhere else on the East Coast.

Doris Lachlan is a 16-year-old autistic trans lesbian who’s come to Slate Beach to spend the summer with her older cousin Claire, who owns a bakery. She meets and falls in love with Darcy Morris, a butch lesbian and a night witch. She also meets Darcy’s friends- Ellie, a harpy, and Emma, the only actual human of the bunch (witches aren’t considered humans).

The first day Doris is in town, she ends up touching a cursed pearl that curses her to slowly transform into a mermaid, and so everyone has to go on a quest to try and find a cure. Chaos ensues- including everyone falling into hell, strapping on wings, Icarus-style, and flying into the angel kingdom and stealing their magic artifact they were hoarding, and other things too. Also everyone is gay, and Doris and Darcy get together.

SO MANY OMG I JUST LOVE TO TALK ABOUT ISABELA THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME THIS OUTLET!!! Ahem…

• To start, her favorite colors are blue, lavender, and pink, and her favorite flowers are jacarandas. • Her favorite tree is a tabebuia tree. • She also likes threatening people with her sundew. • She has a similar temperament to Pepa, she can be very aggressive and has some anger/control issues, she also loses her temper very easily although she’s not as bad as Camilo. However despite this she knows when to be soft, loving, gentle, and kind. • She likes eating her chrysanthemums. • When she was engaged to Mariano, he used to give her lots of gifts, such as chocolate, flowers, love letters, etc., which Isabela would carry to her room. She never read the love letter to anyone, though. In fact, they always ended up conspicuously missing. 🤔 • She is a lesbian(hello, Monika!). • Her favorite cousin is Antonio. Dolores is her sister. Her least favorite cousin is Camilo, because, let’s face it, he’s annoying. She also spends a lot of time in Antonio’s room. • She is closest to Pepa out of the warm-colored family(a certain someone clears her throat.)…umm, minus Dolores of course, obviously! Pepa taught her how to dance, as is traditional in Latin-American cultures, the Tía teaches the sobrina how to dance, and before long she can do it well! • When Dolores was torturing Camilo as a child, Isabela used to defend and hide her so that she didn’t get in trouble with her parents. This didn’t work, of course. • She and Dolores used to celebrate their birthdays on the same date(August 31). But once they got their gifts and Abuela’s standards for perfection set on, Isabela stared celebrating her birthday on its actual date. • She and the other granddaughters often have sleepovers. • Y’all already know this one, but…when she and Dolores were little, they used to dress up in each other’s clothes and pretend to he each other all the time! But it stopped when Isabela dropped Camilo on his head. So it’s technically her fault that Camilo is so stupid. • She loves color theory! • Deep down, she is really upset at the idea that Mirabel doesn’t like her…she wishes things could be different between the two, but it’s too late now. • She also wishes she could hang out with Luisa more like when they used to. Fortunately, they’re still able to make time which they mostly spend shopping and gossiping. She also loves to paint Luisa’s nails. • She hates that Camilo keeps stealing her and Dolores’ makeup. • She always felt awkward around boys when she was younger and preferred to be around girls. • She still has a habit of flipping her hair. • She still enjoys girly things despite not being perfect anymore. She’s now obsessed with dyeing her hair and also loves helping Mirabel and Dolores when it comes to fashion and aesthetics, and she still enjoys growing flowers, just not only pretty pink ones anymore, and she loves the thrill that comes with growing other awesome plants such as sundew, Palma de cera, vines, Venus Fly Traps, etc. she really really loves stinky flowers. • She gave Alejandra her flowers. She loves them because they’re the only flowers she’s ever grown that aren’t pink, since Alejandra likes orange better.

I think Pyro and Engie like to do puzzles and stuff together

engy always has a big work-in-progress puzzle draped across one of his many spare tables that's intended to be one of those pass-by-put-in-a-piece things, though with few exceptions no one really cares enough to bother with it. some nights, though, when pyro can't find any interesting new tinder or scout's watching his boring sports and won't do anything or they just want to come hang out in the workshop they'll head down and pull up a stool and start working on it. sometimes it comes with the added bonus of tugging engy away from his work too, something that doesn't happen all too often, and they'll sit over mugs of hot cocoa and engy'll sing songs or tell pyro questionably legitimate stories of things that happened to him in texas and they'll assemble pictures of lakes and forests and ferris wheels together. finished puzzles are custom-framed, since engy don't really know his way around wood but he can still work a buzzsaw just fine, and hung in that special place 'round his workbench so when he looks up to grab a pair of pliers he'll see them out the side of his eye and remember he has family here, and whenever he hears that door open and that little hum they do, it's like his heart just melts.
