I promise one day I’ll stop bringing up this screenshot but today is not that day because uhm.
Thinking about @madwheelerz’s manifestation theory and like. When this happens:
…they’re describing the Upside Down in terms of the Veil of Shadows. Which. Okay, cool.
Except generally, when they use D&D as a metaphor, they use actual things from D&D irl. The Demogorgon, the Mind Flayer, Vecna… all are real, actual things in irl D&D, even if they’re not exactly 1:1 like the things they (nominally) describe/foreshadow.
…but not the Veil of Shadows. The Veil of Shadows is not a thing. They made it up for the show. And they didn’t have to. Because in real D&D, Shadowfell exists. Described as “the toxic plane of darkness and power. It is the hidden place that hates the light. It is the frontier of worlds unknown”. It’s literally alternately called the Plane of Shadows.
But the Veil of Shadows? Sounds a hell of a lot like Shadowfell in description, but Shadowfell is never referenced as the Veil of Shadows.
And… Shadowfell is from 4e. The kids, especially in s1, are playing 1e. They should not know what Shadowfell is at all.
Idk I just find it interesting that so many of the D&D references are real, and to things they could at least know the name of because they really did show up by name in 1e. Except for the one describing the UD as a whole? Thus comparing the UD to something entirely made up?
Just… interesting.

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

BG3 Comic: An Unwelcome Surprise
(Be forewarned: Dark Urge Act 3 Spoilers. Post is tagged. Click “read more” for the full comic.)
I always find myself wondering about the side conversations that must happen between the other characters while your PC is busy talking to the plot point givers.

is herobrine behavior/lore not common knowledge anymore .... has the world really forgotten about the 2x2 tunnels .. trees with their leaves all gone ... the sand pyramids in the ocean ... the herobrine shrine that would apparently summon him ... the lost to time brocraft hoax livestream that further popularized herobrine as a concept (of which herobrine was just a painting from a texture pack, later removed to which the streamer would continue to act freaked out until the end) .. the original forum post from sometime in august 2010 that detailed encounters with a pseudo-player in the distance on a singleplayer world which included this screenshot
does anyone even care at all. about a herobrine so small

The tragedy that is Arthur Morgan is something that keeps me up at night.
That man lived day to day thinking life was just a tally chart of his sins and that he was forever damned, to the point where he was silently suicidal.
He lived and died thinking that no matter what good he did, it would never make up for his existence - in the type of life he didn't get to choose.
And what's worse is that he still tried. He tried and gave absolutely everything to the people he cared about, to the people he loved, and he watched all of it crumble before him.
He was a dog that was tricked into thinking it was a wolf, a stag who was taught to be a moose, that died to unwavering loyalty.
