I present (🎁) the character relationship chart from the first official fanbook! Big thanks to Pancake from the Kyuushi Discord server for the scans 🫶

The translation, cleaning, and typesetting were all done by me so please forgive any messiness & mistakes. But I'm always very open to feedback so feel free to reach out, especially if you notice tl issues!

Please don't repost the image around. You can just share the link to this post! (If I end up needing to make corrections, I will cry if an old incorrect version is floating around somewhere!!)

I originally wanted to post this along with a more accessible version (aka text version) but unfortunately that would be a ton of extra work and I have other projects I'd like to spend my time on instead. I'm also not really knowledgeable about that stuff to begin with so I'm not sure what kind of format would be best for screen readers or other accessibility aids. If anyone else would like to take up the mantle and create a text version, please message me!

Translation Notes:

Mippiki: Written "３人と１匹" but read as "みっぴき," this word is very important to the Kyuushi fandom! It describes the main characters living in the office- Rona, Draluc, Hinaichi, and John. "Mi" comes from 3 and "ippiki" is how you would count 1 small animal, an armadillo in this case.

Sagyou's "hah? to respect ratio": The "hah?" here is like an exasperated sound he's making. In Japanese it was one of these babies: ぁ゙. So his frustration to respect ratio is 9 to 1.

Calling someone a typhoon/hurricane: I think this is probably self explanatory but since I don't think this is a common expression in English, I'll explain a bit. Basically it's likening someone to the chaos and power of a storm.

Shot's "filthy cool": In Japanese this is "ヨゴレかっこいい." I can't find instances of this phrase being used outside of Kyuushi so this seems to be a Bonnoki original? I've seen others tl this some different ways but I tried to make it sound kinda cool in English, though it also kinda makes no sense lol, sorry.

Tabiko being in the "vampires" section: Just in case anyone is confused, Tabiko is definitely a human. I think there just wasn't space to stick her anywhere else.

Manner calling Satetsu "big bro": "兄イ" in Japanese. I think most people recognize words like "onii-san" and "aniki" at this point but I'm not sure about just "anii" (also big brother) so I decided to tl it here. As you may have guessed, this is not him literally trying to adopt Satetsu as his brother, but rather a term of respect (albeit a teasing one). Satetsu is uncomfortable being called this, mostly because it reminds him of his embarrassing delinquent past.

Nagiri's nickname for John: I chose to keep this as "Maru" ("丸," literally "circle") just because I think it sounds like a cute nickname lol.

Fiasco calling Manner "spoiled rich boy": Originally "ボンボン" in Japanese. You might have heard a character called "bon" or even this kinda insulting version, "bonbon," before. It describes a young man from a rich family. I added "spoiled" because I thought it sounded too much like a complement just to call him "genius rich boy," even with "damn" in front 😂

Nuyan: John's "nu" combined with a dog's "wan" (bark). Remember that time Yomo hypnotized John into acting like a dog? That John never fully recovered from? Yeah.

Kyuushi has a ton of characters and they can be difficult to keep track of, especially for the English fandom which doesn't have access to all the materials.

"You shouldn't ship them! They see each other as siblings!!"

I've seen people say this about Rengoku and Mitsuri again and again, very often as a way to shut down others who are having fun with the Renmitsu ship. Not only is it annoying to constantly run into this from people who don't really know what they're talking about, but it's also inaccurate and way oversimplifies their cute dynamic! Let's dig deeper.

For a moment, let's also just forget about the above panel where she is very obviously all 🥰 at him and, instead, let's go straight to the source: what the Pillars all think about each other in the official guidebook. Better yet, let's look at it in the original Japanese!

Now, I am still a student of Japanese. I am by no means fluent, so if I make any mistakes, please feel free to let me know! I'm always looking to learn something new.

First, from Rengoku:

才能が凄い！技の独創性も凄い！可愛い後輩！

Sainō ga sugoi! Waza no dokusō-sei mo sugoi! Kawaii kōhai!

In the first two sentences, he's praising her big time! "Her talent is amazing! The creativity/ingenuity of her technique is also amazing!" In the last sentence, he calls her a cute kōhai. If you're familiar with the term senpai, then kōhai is the alternative. It's just a term to refer to a junior coworker or classmate. Mitsuri joins the Demon Slayer Corps. after him, and he was her mentor before he became the Flame Hashira. (However, in the Rengoku gaiden, he tells her that they are no longer master & student, but instead equal peers. Overall, he clearly thinks she's very skilled and also cute.

Next, from Mitsuri:

かっこいいお兄様！一緒に修行して楽しかった。可愛がってもらった！

Kakkoii onii-sama! Issho ni shugyō shite tanoshikatta. Kawaigatte moratta!

The first sentence, translated literally, just says "Cool big brother!" Now, one thing that makes Japanese both fun and difficult is that speakers often rely on context and omit entire parts of the sentence that an English speaker would normally use. In this case, in English, you wouldn't just say "Cool big brother!" You might say something like "He's like a cool big brother to me" or "I view him as a cool big brother figure." In this case, we don't have that. What we do have, however, is cultural context! In Japanese culture, familial terms are often used as terms of endearment or respect with people close to the speaker or even politely with strangers. So it would be normal to call an older male "big brother" even if they weren't actually your brother. (Kind of similarly, if you're at all familiar with Korean culture, girls often call their own boyfriends 오빠 (obba), which means — you guessed it — "older brother.") Here, Mitsuri refers to Rengoku as onii-sama, and that last part is important! The -sama suffix is super polite and formal, and long story short, you wouldn't normally refer to someone in your own in-group (family, circle of friends, etc.) with such a formal, respectful title. It is, however, a term you might use to refer to someone else's brother. So there's a very good chance that she's not saying "he's my cool older brother" but instead "he's a cool older brother!" And he is! He's an amazing older brother to Senjurō, and Mitsuri knows this. [UPDATE: I've spoken with a couple people who know way more about the Japanese language than me and, apparently, in this context onii-sama literally just means "guy." 🤣 She's literally just saying "He's a cool guy!"]

[UPDATE #2: I've also recently learned that kakkoii doesn't really mean "cool," but is instead a compliment specifically to men that means something more like, "good-looking, handsome, or cool in a manly way." INTERESTING. 👀]

In the next sentence, she says, "It was fun training together!" Pretty straightforward. The last sentence is very, very interesting, because at a cursory translation, Google would tell you that it just straight-up means, "I was loved!" Sounds intense, but that's not really accurate. Let's break it down. Kawaigatte moratta! Kawaigatte, if I'm not mistaken, is an inflection of the transitive verb kawaigaru, which Jisho translates as "to be affectionate to; to treat tenderly; to dote on; to show one's love (for); to cherish." Other translations usually say something like, "He really doted on me." But essentially she’s saying, "He treated me with tenderness/affection" or, "He made me feel loved/cherished." 💖

So there you go! Not that a fan ship like Renmitsu even needs this kind of validation anyway, but it might be nice to have something you can keep in your back pocket for the next time someone is being annoying about it. There's enough here to show that they really have a lot of affection for each other. They're so adorable~!

(Side note: there are other examples of Mitsuri's attraction to him in the gaiden [pictured above] and in at least one of the light novels. I might write about that, too.)

Deep diving into Alejandro's ethnicity and family because the show is vague with how both are portrayed, and I'm pedantic:

Off the bat, we know that he was born in 🇪🇸 Spain. Or at least, that's what his wiki page says, so I'm sure it's mentioned in some kind of canon content (the show, the character interviews, the creators' stating it, ect). He often times speaks en español, either by replacing words and phrases in otherwise English sentences or cussing out his team in an entirely spanish confession. His name is also rooted in Spanish origin; 'Alejandro' is the Spanish equivalent of Alexander, and his surname 'Burromuerto' literally translates to "Dead Donkey", likely a combination of the idioms "beating a dead horse" and "no ver tres en un burro", translation: can't see three on a donkey; akin to 'blind as a bat'.

I could go on about the symbolism of his name(s) and how it relates to his performance on Total Drama, but that's not essential to the topic at hand so I'll go over it later.*

With this in mind, the show really wants us to believe that he's Spanish, or at the very least Hispanic.

In Chinese Fake-Out, we learn that he won a gold medal at the South American Skate Olympics, so he presumably lived somewhere in South America in his childhood. On the wiki, it claims that he moved to Latin America soon after he was born. His comment in the same episode about eating barbequed guinea pigs where he grew up had a lot of people deducing that he lived in 🇵🇪 Peru since guinea pig is famously a delicacy there. The question begs, why would Alejandro and the rest of the Burromuertos move to Peru from Spain?

We know that Alejandro's father is a diplomat, so uprooting the family to a new country could be related to his work, but I doubt a diplomat would settle down and start a family just to go through the hassle of moving them halfway across the world to a random country, regardless of his salary.

What other reason would anyone have for dragging their brood across the sea? To see their extended family.

Family is a big character motivation for Alejandro: he has a lot of pride in being a Burromuerto and often times complains about disappointing his family or being susceptible to José's teasing when his plans don't work out. Pride is a staple of the Burromuertos; they even have a family code they abide by. That kind of mindset is usually generational, implying that his parents place the same emphasis on the presentation and opinions of their family.

The most glaring example of this mindset is the hate fuelled rivalry between Alejandro and José, which was sparked by their desperate need to be the "better son". The main goal of the Burromuerto brothers is familial recognition. Understandable, when your parents are too successful to raise you themselves, any kid would be desperate for their attention. Since their competition was allowed to escalate to the point of mutual loathing, their parents probably encouraged their behaviour; when you value familial reputation over everything of course you want your children to continuously prove themselves. (Poor Al is just full of complex familial trauma, from his parents' neglect to his brothers' bullying to the incredible pressure he's put under to succeed. No wonder he's like that.)

After seeing how the brothers are willing to go to extremes for the sake of family, it's reasonable that parents sharing that mindset would move across an ocean just to see their relatives (and likely compete with them, after all even a younger Alejandro was showing up everyone in South America's skateboarding scene).

Suggesting that either one or both of his parents, or grandparents, are Latin American. For simplicities sake, we'll say that Alejandro's dad is Spanish (as he carries the surname), and his mother is Peruvian (since Peru is the assumed country they moved to).

That means that the brothers qualify as both Hispanic and Latino. Alejandro's latin blood really is canon, and the stereotypical 'Latin Lover' archetype he fills (alongside the "Archvillain" he's titled as) is all the more accurate. He's evidently very proud of both heritages.

To clarify, the Burromuertos moved to Peru when Alejandro was young to be with his Mother's side of the family.

If we want to really wade into the theoretical waters, I'd like to suggest that Alejandro's father left Spain because he disgraced himself/his family in some way, and that's why he's so insistent on his sons restoring the family pride and prestige.

So, I've established Alejandro's ethnicity and touched on the bare-bones basics of his home life. But what about his other brother, or his uncle? You know, the characters that were mentioned once and never expanded upon. Don't worry, I've got notes on them too.

Carlos: The eldest child and a professional soccer player. Alejandro doesn't mention anything about a rivalry with Carlos. Instead, he suggests the two share a healthier bond as Carlos taught him soccer skills. 'Carlos' the name is a Spanish variant of Charles, meaning "free man". Fitting, since it's widely assumed that Carlos escaped from the Burromuerto home's harmful environment at his first opportunity and 'freed himself' from their high expectations/standards, hence why he doesn't engage in the family-typical hypercompetitive bullying. A somewhat common fandom troupe I've seen is Carlos being disowned by the Burromuertos, and post-World Tour/All-Stars Alejandro reconnecting with him after he too is disowned.

Uncle Julio: The hypnotist. All we really know about Julio is his name and occupation, but it's enough to pin him down as Alejandro's maternal uncle. Alejandro states that he learned hypnosis from Julio in The EX-Files; as he grew up in Peru, the only family he reasonably could have interacted with outside of the nuclear unit would be his mother's relatives. His comment "manipulation runs in the family" is never ascribed to the Burromuertos by name, which adds to the implication that Julio isn't his father's brother, as any skill as useful as hypnosis would definitely be branded under his surname otherwise. Additionally, 'Julio' as a name is derivative of the Latin Julius or Julianus (meaning "Devoted to Jove/Jupiter", the Roman incarnation of Zeus, though I can't find any meaning in this applicable to his character), and not a strictly Spanish name like those of Alejandro and his brothers. Instead, it's common in most Hispanic and Latin American countries.

José: The middle child and Alejandro's source of his lingering childhood trauma, if the aversion to the nickname "Al" is anything to go by, I've already written about their relationship. The name 'José' is a Spanish variant of Joseph, which means "to add/give" in it's simplest interpretation. He sure does give Alejandro a tonne of issues, so I suppose it tracks.

*And finally, analysing the symbolism of Alejandro's name.

Alejandro, derived from Alexander, meaning "warrior" and "man's defender". Though in Al's case, it's likely a reference to Alexander the Great as opposed to the name's literal meaning/origins- Alejandro conquered the competition like Alexander conquered his empire.

Burromuerto's double idioms combine "beating a dead horse donkey" with "blind as a bat", likely as a convoluted way to say he's blinding the dead donkey; in this case, the beaten dead horse donkey is the OG cast of Total Drama who have already been milked for two seasons of content and have little left to offer (therefore, the third season is the beating of the dead horse, as its' an attempt to force content out of a resource with nothing left to give. that's why they added two more competitors, if that makes any sense? I'm not sure if I'm explaining this well enough,) and Alejandro is deceiving or 'blinding' them through his manipulations.

Obviously, this is all speculation written by someone with too much free time and no expertise. All of my knowledge/facts come from google searches and connecting dots that likely have no real links to each other. I'm not an authority on any subject. Keep that in mind, please.

good question, by the way. Thank you for sending it my way because it gave me the opportunity to skim a few chapters in japanese, and I got a good chuckle from some of the things I found.

So. About the reply. Are they still crazy? yes. What about rude then? this one is more fun to answer. As a general rule of thumb, japanese dialogue often has a lot less curse-words and random insults thrown around, just because japanese as a language relies on other things to be rude. Mainly, socially inadequate registers, directness, and lack of honorifics. For the most part this holds true for blue lock as well. Some of the times you see the character cussing out, in japanese there are no swear words, but just more direct or otherwise less polite lines. See: in the last chapter, Karasu's "dumdums" isn't there in japanese. I know. I'm heartbroken about that too.

BUT. I guess blue lock breaks from the norm even in this respect. A lot of its most... colorful language, even in translation, is true to the original lines, actually. Lemme just bring up three of my favourite examples.

yep. he says all that. he literally calls him "mountain of vomit and shit big brother" saljkfjankfsja Rin, you sure have a way with words. A true poet of our time.

Then there's Yukki.

Oh, Yukki.

In japanese this line is "お前カイザーと同類のマウント糞野郎だわ" (omae kaizaa to dourui no maunto kusoyarou da wa) which cracks me up because he's almost echoing Rin above. What's phrased as "self-serving shithead" here, if translated literally, is even more colorful in japanese. Kusoyarou means piece of shit, while maunto is "mountain" (the same word that got translated as "pile" in Rin's line). So Yukki is more or less not just calling Isagi a piece of shit, but a whole mountain of shit. Talk about extra. "Shithead" is a good workaround to make the line more natural in english but I feel like it isn't quite as funny as the original, lmao

And then, of course. Isagi's response.

snalfkna I kid you not this is an almost word by word translation of what he's saying. The only thing that isn't there in japanese is the "narcissist" part (he just says "fucker" but the rest is there. Yep. Even that.

So yes, the boys are still rude assholes in the original japanese manga as well, haha

With one caveat: from what I've seen, the official translation is much more accurate to the og phrasing than any of the fan scanlations. The former tends to maintain as much of the nuance as possible, while fan scans sometimes miss some details. The latter also tend to add more swears or downright mistranslate bits at times

When the Sullys landed on the island in front of its inhabitants, they were welcomed by the chiefs along with contemptuous, curious looks, among many more particularly negative emotions.

Jake explaining the situation they were in and that they were only seeking shelter, it was difficult to talk due to the situation, but they came to an agreement.

Neytiri, Jake's partner and mother of those children who tried to follow their father's orders, without giving a bad impression and treating each one with respect.

The village chief decided to give them refuge in his bed and ordered all his brothers and sisters to treat them as one of their own, determined that they would teach the Sullys how they lived and what they had to achieve in order to survive on the islands.

Tsireya majestically came out of the water, drawing the attention of the Sullys, some more than others, such as the older brothers who stared at her due to her sudden appearance and surprised by the different abilities that these na'vi had.

The girl gave them a smile to turn around and search the crowd for her friend, she looks at her brother giving him a look that he could quickly interpret, his only response was a quick look at the sea, making her understand everything.

Our protagonist was a lover of the ocean, she could spend hours and hours by the sea among all the creatures and biomes, thanks to that she began to create her own work in the village, she dedicated herself to research, representing everything in drawings that were not so clean but that were could understand, making mental maps with which it would help in various situations.

But not everything is so perfect, her friends hardly saw her outside the ocean and they cared greatly for her, even though the waters were beautiful places, they didn't take away the danger in them.

The daughter of the chiefs was one of those friends, thanks to Eywa, before she began to walk to the water in search of her friend, she saw her on top of one of the rocks, but she noticed that she was not the only one who had found her, the Sullys were looking at her because of her interaction and practice with her friend from the sea.

He made trick attempts with his Ilu, having fun demonstrating it with his big smile and sometimes laughing that escaped him.

-Guys, this is Lua and I thought it would be fun and help you in your lessons- Tsireya introduced

-A pleasure, my name is Neteyam, he is my brother Lo'ak and they are kiri together with Tuk, my sisters- The eldest of the brothers was encouraged to say

-A pleasure, I will try to help you get to know our village-

After the presentation, the breathing lesson began, the girls from the Metkayina clan demonstrated the technique and then saw how the Sullys tried to use it.

The girls on their side could deal with the technique little by little, neteyam had the odd complication, but he was able to achieve something unlike Lo'ak who had a hard time keeping up

Lua, in an attempt to help him, explained to him that he had to do the best possible so that he understood and could adapt to her, in the middle of the explanation the girl explained that she had to calm her heartbeat to be able to breathe more. , while in turn placing one hand on his chest and the other closer to his abdomen, trying to help but unknowingly did the opposite, no matter how hard he tried to calm his heart rate, Lo'ak could not do it no matter how hard he tried. Most of the family was happy with their current situation except for one.

Lo'ak, he was frustrated and closed in his mind since arrival, his parents as well as his brothers noticed that and some worried except Kiri and Tuk.

Kiri just watching his brother fully understood what was happening to him and Tuk witnessing an interaction quickly predicted something.

His brother began to feel attracted to that girl, but he had never felt anything like this, so he did not understand what he was feeling.

Neteyam noticed the behavior in him, and to help decided to talk to him and let him vent.

- What's up Lo'ak? You've been strange since we arrived, our parents are beginning to worry, I understand that it's hard to be nice to Ao'nung and his stupid friends, but—The older man began trying to understand, but being interrupted

-It's not that- the younger answered, looking at his brother with a frown

- So what is it? - I ask

"It's nothing important" he answered running his eyes.

Author's note: Hello! his is my first work translated into English, I will make more avatar content and maybe some of my favorite characters, I will be open to requests or ideas but know that I just started on Tumblr but I want to collaborate within the Avatar fandom. I saw the 2nd movie and I fell in love again with all the characters but I had to do one of Lo'ak with the theme of love at first sight, I will do more with other themes and maybe a second part of this one I accept constructive criticism and corrections (obviously with respect in between) because I really seek to improve and I would love to know your opinion

Every time a yugioh character says "Big bro!" you can feel the weight of the translators struggling with the need to acknowledge the fact that these characters are literally referring to their siblings as "brother" while also knowing that siblings referring to each other by anything besides their first name in english is almost always intensely awkward and unnatural. You can hear them sweating and coming to this mediocre middle out of sheer necessity.

Thai Names & BL

Why SO Weird (to Westerners)

You're looking for information on the Thai chue len.

We might say "nickname" but the actual translation is "play name." And it's what an anthropologist might call a "use name." So this is the name you go by IRL, not necessarily your legal name.

First I should say that this is a lot more common than westerns realize, even in our own past. Many Roman women, for example, we know operated under what amounts to a chue len. And it was probubly quite common among the lower classes in Ancient Egypt and Greece, too. But since the poor and females are chronically understudied there isn’t a ton of data (or written records, for that matter).

The chue len has to do in part with the history of names in Thailand, and the fact that until relatively recently most people only had a given name and a chue len, and then when government regulations went into effect mandating a last names it quickly became really complicated.

You can read a great article on Thai naming conventions here. It’s fun to learn about. I highly recommend it. And I am going to assume you did read it and now talk only about the bits left out and odd.

The bit most BL watchers ask me about is answered in this statement:

“Many Thai nicknames are derived from English words. They may be English sounding names (such as ‘Anna’) or more obscure words that are chosen for their meaning, e.g. Book (symbolising intelligence), Bank (symbolising wealth).”

However, like most English words used in Thai, they aren’t pronounced the way we would pronounce them. (Hell when have you ever heard an American pronounce something like a Brit, anyway?)

One amusing example is “bur” which is Thai for “phone number.” It’s our word, but they made it... better. You can watch Dean ask for Pharm’s digits using just this one word (in the scene where he drops him off for the first time in UWMA).

What the article doesn't say about chue len is that sometimes they are chosen for fun/silly as a baby name (like fatty) and then changed by the person themselves at any point in their life.

You can opt to change your chue len whenever you want, since it's not a legal name. Also its not uncommon to have different ones with different groups (so one for friends, another for family, one for the public if you’re a celebrity, another for your lover).

Daonuea (literally starnorth AKA Polaris or the Northstar) in Star in My Mind does this, he uses two: Nuea with friends, Dao with intimates.

I hope you can see how in a language where you use your OWN NAME for the I pronoun regularly, this is VERY easy to do?

Also, the article doesn’t say that a chue len can also be based on a popular band/idol/actor at the time of birth. I understand from my Thai bestie that Golf/Gulf was one of these for a while back in the 90s? I think.

Anyway, I also found Thai names odd to start, now I barely notice or register. Partly because what we read in English captions often doesn’t really sound like what’s being said.

For example, both Tine & Type sound the same to me, like Tyyyyee.

Also I amuse myself with wondering how they got that name. Like if a baby is named Bbomb - erm, did they blow out their diaper all the time? Probubly not because that’s very English culture specific, but I’m still amused. Was War a really violent child? Are all those Flukes happy accidents? Why is Gameplay called Gameplay? Was he a big gamer who chose it for himself? Or did his parents get together because of an in-game romance?

It’s fun to think about the reason, because there usually is one.

There’s another naming convention the article doesn’t really talk about, which is all the chue lens amongst siblings often either rhyme (e.g. Win & Lin in Cupid’s Last Wish) or start with the same letter. Thai BL Kpop idol Bambam of GOT7 talks about this (he and his sibs all have B names). And also, hilariously, the fact that he actually doesn’t know his own brother’s given name because they have always just used the chue len with each other so he never had to learn it.

Some actors will take and go by (at least for a time) a more western sounding name (Phoom --> Pavel) but you’ll hear their Thai friends using their Thai name or a different chue len (much like some Korean idols). Others will go by a Thai name for in country work (Stewart --> Perth).

There is an episode of 2022′s Safe House where GMMTV actors all talk about their use names and where they come from and their siblings names etc... but no one ever translated it and I’m a dumbass who didn’t save that ep to link, sorry.

Here on Tumblr we tend to tag actors by their chue len + given name, partly because many actors choose that as their social media handles on IG etc...

Jujutsu Kaisen, Chapter 204 Thoughts.

I thought I was not going to have much to say about this week’s chapter, because it is mainly fighting, however, I read a tweet about opening words that got cut out of the English Translation of the chapter.

“A life they never asked for, but more brothers than they could hope for.

A special warmth that is a pillar for his heart there….! Choso and his brothers stand firmly together as one!”

Which just perfectly summarizes how Choso embodies all of the positives of a sibling relationship. Let’s talk about what Jujutsu Kaisen has to say about siblings underneath the cut.

1. Big Brother.

What is unique about Choso is that his entire character revolves around the role the eldest born / first son / big brother is supposed to play to their family. Which is ironic, because Choso’s family is his mad scientist father, all of the failed creations he got bored of and abandoned, and also the mother who was abused to make him and all of his siblings.

“A life they never asked for...” is putting it mildly, the life Choso was born into through no choice of his own, is unrelentingly, despair inducing-ly bleak.

The death painting brother’s response in general to this hopeless situation they were born into, and have relatively no control over is to completely rely on each other. They have no relatoinship to their mother or father, they have only had each other for hundreds of years.

Which is where much like Choso’s own hybrid nature, they like many cursed spirits the death paitning brothers horrifying abominations, and yet they regard each other the same way a normal human family would. To the point where Choso’s motivations are incredibly understandable to us the reader because his entire motivation is to try to act as this ideal older brother figure, which could resemble a sibling relationships many humans have or possibly wish for. The way Choso loves his siblings, despite their horrifying origin, is the same way an older brother is expected toc are for his younger brothers, if a bit idealized.

Choso and his brothers are quite literally aborted fetuses at various stage of fetal developments. They were people never meant to be born into this world. They are not equipped to survive. They were abominations sealed away by Jujutsu Academy, and then two thirds of them were killed by Jujutsu Sorcerers soon after they were born. Nobara and Yuji also kill them without hestiation because they are cursed spirits despite the obvious signs of intelligence they showed, whereas they might have hesitated if they were human curse users.

Choso’s love for his siblings represents both Choso trying to make the best of the situation he was born into, and an active choice on his part to love his brothers. As stated in the panel above, Choso and his brothers could so easily hate the world for what it did to them, and yet that’s not their objective, they don’t want revenge, purely what they want is to survive. They were never meant to be born, yet they are trying to live in the world, and live for each other.

Choso, Eso, Kechizu live for the sake of each other, that’s the way they cope and try to make the best of the situation they were born into. However, loving is also an active choice on Choso’s part. There are other siblings born into similiar situations, unhealthy family households who are faced with similiar choices as Choso.

Naoya who has no relationships to his siblings, and at large no relationship to his family treats people as nothing more than dispoable actions, relationships as transactions where he gets something out of them.

There is another you could draw a comparison between Choso in the Zenin household. Maki and Mai parallel Choso’s relatoinship to his borthers in the fact that twins are considered “cursed” because of the omens associated with them. Maki is also born in a way that makes her an outcast to her clan, having a restriction that makes her unable to see cursed techniques in exhcange for increased strength. Choso and his brothers are the shame of the Kamo family, Maki and Mai are considered shameful by their father Ogi and he blames them as the reason he wasn’t made clan head. Kenjaku similiarly, abandoned the Death Painting Bros because he didn’t consider them interesting

The way Choso acts as a ig brother, and the way Mai acts as a big sister are markedly different however. Mai and Maki are continually in conflict with one another. While Choso and his brothers do everything together, Mai and Maki are seperate.

Maki’s intentions may have been to reform the Zenin for Mai’s sake, but she didn’t make that clear to Mai. Mai beleives Maki left her behind, and maybe, Maki did prioritze being strong and defeating the Zenin over her relaitonship with her sister. Maki a staunch individualist would have hated herself if she stayed in that household with Mai forever.

Maki and Mai are born connected, the same way CHoso and his brothers are all connected to one another, but while their sibling relaitonship is a blessing, something they use to make their situation better Mai internalizes the idea that she is a burden to Maki/. THat she is the reason Maki cannot get stronger. That their connection is holding Maki back. To the point where Mai choosing to die is the thing that finally makes Maki stronger. Maki gets stronger, but only as an indivdual, with her sister permanently lost.

Maki is stronger now, but she is stronger alone. This is in comparison to Choso who is labeled weak and uninteresting this chapter by his own father. Choso who even considers himself a failure.

However, Choso always chose his relationship with his brothers over his individual strength. He chose, even to accept and forgive Yuji after learning they were brothers. He is able to find love in his life because he made that choice to love his brothers. Even though two of Choso’s brothers die similiary to Maki and Mai, his situation as a whole is far less tragic.

And I say it’s a choice because during the same arc where YUji and Co fought the death paintings, there was a clear foiling between Megumi’s relationship with his adoptive sister, and the chosen relationship of the Death Painting brothers.

Just like how I choose who to help, you choose who to protect me. Megumi and Choso are foils in regars to the fact that they were abndoned by their actual blood fathers, and despite having no family Megumi similiar to Choso chooses to prioritize his adoptive sister who he has no blood relationship’s well being over everything else.

In all of these cases a good relationship with their sibling isn’t something that happens on his own, it’s a choice made by the characters to try to be good to their siblings.

If so, I am here to tell you about the guy he was singing with - because Yibo loves him, and so should you!

That! Is Da Zhangwei!

He wrote that song! He was one of Yibo's cohosts on Tiantian Xiang Shang (also known by the terrible translation Day Day Up), and you know Yibo's TTXS cohosts were his family. His big brothers. It's how he got his reputation as a ge collector.

This is DZW's other NYE performance, which is a bit more representative of his usual aesthetic:

If you like either of those songs/performances, read on to learn more about why you should definitely be paying attention to this guy.

(Sorry most of these videos don't have English subs. But most are music so at least you can find the lyrics online.)

First off, DZW didn't just write this song and then perform it with Yibo (and give Han-ge a shoutout afterward). He then posted this video, basically shouting "I wrote this song because I miss my TTXS bros!" (The lyric being repeated here is "I will miss you")

I mean, I don't know for a fact that he wrote it about them. But I do know that he literally DID write a song about Yibo once. This is a thing he has done before. It's called Cool Guy:

But the fact that he and Yibo are on each other's lists of favorite people is only the beginning, and definitely not why I became obsessed with him.

Da Zhangwei fun facts:

You'll find him on English-language sites like Spotify and iTunes under his English stage name, Wowkie Da. People also often refer to him as DLS or Da-Laoshi, showing how respected he is in the music industry.

He started a band (花兒樂隊, The Flowers), wrote all the music for said band, and had his first hit, 静止 (Static), in 1999 - when he was 16 years old. Like all his music, it's catchy as fuck. (To go back to Yibo for just a second, I'm guessing they bonded over having to deal with fame from a really young age.)

(Yes, the guy sticking his tongue out at the camera up there is 40 years old.)

Da Zhangwei is actually a stage name, too. His real name is Zhang Wei (so you'll occasionally find him as Wowkie Zhang), but that's such a common name that when he started his career he started going by "Big Zhangwei" - which is hilarious given that he was a scrawny teenager.

He continued to write pretty much all the band's music for the next decade. (Here's a whole concert from probably 2007ish). Then when they broke up in 2009 he started his solo career, also writing all his own music.

静止 was an angsty teenage anthem, but since then his aesthetic, both songwriting-wise and visually, has tended toward upbeat and cute.

I think it's safe to say he's leaned into this even more since going solo. Some of his recent hits: 撒花/Scatter Flowers, 一个Nice, 满怀可爱所向披靡 / Full of Cuteness and Invincible, and 万物盛开法则 / Law of All Things Blooming, from above.

However, don't be fooled! This just means that when he writes something sad, it's absolutely heartbreaking. Examples include 永远唱不完的歌/The Song That Doesn't End (above) and 我的深情就是个笑话/My Affection Is Just A Joke.

In addition to hosting TTXS, he has become a staple on all sorts of variety shows, both for music and comedy.

I found him via Season 3 of Our Song, where some of his accomplishments included creating a mashup of 12 different songs, from traditional Chinese folk music and opera to his own 撒花, and turning "your team will do 3 songs" into an entire 3-act musical (link is to the whole episode, since the 3 songs are alternating with the other team, but the other team is AMAZING with people you should get to know too). ETA I forgot about this compilation I did of clips from some of his Our Song performances!

He got to meet the Rolling Stones earlier this year! There's a translator but he's so excited he keeps breaking in while she's trying to ask his questions. His English is really good (if heavily accented), and he has a tendency to throw it in completely unnecessarily to both his performances and random conversation.

He's been on this show for a few seasons called Who's the Murderer? - basically, the same cast plays out a different murder mystery improv each episode. I haven't watched it yet but I've been meaning to - the latest season is on YT with English subs.

His birthday is the day after mine.

Let's begin.

You were just dropped here. Literally. From the fucking sky and you broke your fucking foot as a result.

You, a modern day salary person, or student, or surgeon, or sturgeon, or whatever with almost tangible question marks around your head, is clutching your pained foot. The last thing you remembered was sneakily sleeping on your job after giving up on your task at hand. You were rudely awakened by the ticklish feeling of your organs floating inside you, a rushing gust of wind against your face and ultimately a bone fracture.

Howling and sobbing from the excruciating pain, you caught the attention of more than enough citizens in the town square you were dropped in. Of course, a person manifesting from thin air and falling from the sky already had their interests piqued.

This sucks, you thought. Usually transmigrants wake up in bed, as someone else-in someone else's body, mild to severe confusion is to be expected. But generally, initially unharmed. You didn't expect to be flung down from the fucking sky with no plot armor.

Da creator argues that you do have some plot armor, you're still alive, aren't you? You would become a flattened reader patty by falling at that height if this was in real life.

Back to the plot at hand. You're suffering with a broken foot, everyone around you dress Amish, no tech in sight- still using oil lanterns to light up the place. They seem human enough for you to realize that they're frowning, gaping, gasping, murmuring and knitting their eyebrows in concern.

The more you look away from your horrifyingly twisted foot, the more you notice that... there is modern technology around! There are people wearing casual hawaiian shirts, baseball caps and a DSLR camera hung around their neck. Must be tourists from the city.

Now there are 7 ways this can go. Each path you choose will have... probably another 3 more ways. Then each will branch off again to another three more ways and so on. Da creator is not doing this game on Tumblr cause it will be a nightmare to masterlist and keep track.

I was planning to be like Degrees of Lewdity inspired, text based and using twine to do it but I know squat shit about coding. So this may probably be an empty promise, but I want to make like a visual novel out of it.

Maybe not... visual. I don't know how those talented VN artists do it, but I simply CANNOT draw all of that.

I'll probably start off strong and fall off the face of Earth doing this, my motivation is never consistent. So don't expect much, I'm just throwing this out here in case maybe in a couple months I decided to reread my crap and see this and go "hey why not" and pick it back up.

Then disappear for a couple weeks, abandon the project, reread my stuff, rinse and repeat. Keep in mind I haven't have a slightest idea how to code or any of its' jargons.

Anyways, you get to choose how to meet one of the 7 OCs.

You could either:

Have 2718 swoop in and save you from some bad guys, true to the first installment of Language Barrier. But he is not going to treat you like a mature, self critical adult, if that's what you were expecting. You're injured and he is not letting you do anything for yourself. But you find it strange that your pain is gone whenever he's touching you. You can see that he's upset over your injury, but he does whatever he can to soothe you. He's awfully quiet, don't you think?

Abacus guy comes in and act like a caretaker of yours, since you can't understand what most of them are saying due to your limited... unevolved biological hardware. And poor you, howling in pain with your ankle shattered like that, of course you're not going to notice that some of the tourists are speaking in English. Abacus guy is going to gently pick you up, coo at you and turn you into putty in their arms. They pressed their lips against the crook of your neck, suckling on a very sensitive spot. It feels good...

Oh no! His baby! Your big brother will sob, taking you into his strong arms, burying his face in your hair, muttering soft, sweet nothings to soothe you. Quickly but carefully, he zipped through the curious crowd and loaded you in his car, making sure you're comfortable with your favorite plushies and blankies. Are you thirsty? Big brother has some refreshing drinks he keep in his cooler. Hungry? There are packets of healthy snacks he neatly arranged in his car organizer. Big brother will open the packets for you if you ask, but please... please eat your painkillers first. It's going to be a long ride to the hospital and you're going to suffer. And that breaks his heart.

You noticed a shadow looming over you. You looked up to see the worried face of your beloved best friend, tears from his puffy eyes streaking down his sunken cheeks. There were dark bags under his eyes from the stress. Presumably from work and the worrying he endured while you're away. He scooped you up carefully and hastily placed you down on the stretcher prepared by the best medical team in the... galaxy? They placed a complicated looking helmet over your head before pressing a button on a metallic device. You heard muffled glass shatters after that. Each of the members held on tight to the stretcher, your best friend held onto you, hugging you tightly as he whimpers, rubbing your arm up and down. You don't know what happened, but you can't describe what you're seeing through the glass. It's like watching the world's most indescribable movie, it's not giving you any feelings of pain or fear or nausea.

Leveret is too green and unripe now, I can't exactly write for him until I write a part 2, will get back to this later

Same goes for our pussy devourer hitman, too incomplete, will get back to this later as well

You were momentarily distracted from your pain when you heard a scream looming in the distance... From above. It's getting louder and louder until you hear a devastating thud and crunch against the ground, silvery specks flew past your eyes. Accompanied by multiple gasps. Sobbing, groaning and cussing soon followed. You craned your neck to see a woman, dressed in office attire, howling loudly in pain. Looks like she shattered both legs and an arm. Strange metallic liquid ooze out of her wounds. The two of you remained on the ground, injured and exhausted while everyone else just stared. All the while, feeling that something big and bad is about to come.

When all of them have their names already, I'll change the fic accordingly. But for now, this is all I can provide. Lackluster in everything <3

Actually no, no choosing. The game chooses for you and it's all up to chance. Probably have an introduction where you get up on your own and girlboss your way out. But eventually have one of my OCs catch you.

Okay, because I just commented this somewhere else but now I need it here:

“Who else could it be but his junior, the Young Clan Leader of the Jiang Clan, Jiang Cheng”- The Taming Wangxian partial fan translation

Even though they all technically express the same thing, the way they choose to word things sound so radically different.

“The little sect leader” vs “the Young Clan Leader” in S7 vs TW.

“Ain’t” which sounds highly informal/kind of low-brow to the English ear versus... literally every other translation.

“Lan Zhan, can’t you tell what I meant by all that chatter?” “No,” Lan Wangji replied. “You can’t?” Wei Wuxian said. “I was complimenting you, tryin’ to get chummy!”- official 7S English translation

Wei WuXian, “You don’t even know about this? I was complimenting you, trying to become more casual with you.” - Exiled Rebels', the original/first English fan translation

“Really, you didn’t know? I was kissing up to you so you’d be my friend.”- Fanyiyi's partial English fan translation, and my personal favorite

(I unfortunately only have the first 26 pages of Taming Wangian’s version, so I don’t have this bit. If someone wants to link me to a doc... that would be great. I bought all the currently available legal versions because I believe in paying MXTX for her work; I just have translation preferences.)

But again, it’s a matter of small bits of word choice making a big difference, at least for me personally.

First off, why is Wei Wuxian dropping his ending “g”s? Like, I know that’s a real life thing; I’m Texan and talk that way IRL. But they do this here (and with the “ain’t” above and the repeated use of “li’l”) and it just comes out sounding jarring to me? It isn’t as if WWX has a specific English-speaking accent to transcribe.

Is this a tone/dialect thing in Mandarin that the 7S team is trying to localize? I wouldn’t know, but if so, why doesn’t it show up in any of the other translations? And if it isn’t are they trying to make the speech sound more “colorful”? Because for me, it’s just distracting.

Also, the word chummy. Again, there’s a difference in formality levels, but I also just kind of hate this word (which is used four times in 7S’s edition). It might be because in my daily life, I’ve only ever heard this word being used sarcastically- “I saw them getting really chummy with X” is always used with a negative connotation. And I just think there were smoother ways to render this?

Again, I can’t read any Mandarin whatsoever, so I can’t make meaningful comments about how the different translations relate back to the original text. I will say that as an English speaker, I just flat out don’t enjoy a lot of 7S’s translation choices when seen in the frame of comparable fan translations. Their diction is distracting and odd in too many places.

(And of course, this is not to say you can’t like or prefer or support the 7S version if you so choose. This is my personal opinion.)

besides being a government name activist, i wish they left out some things in korean and just added an author's note or translator's note (smth like *keikaku means plan). imo it adds to getting immersed (?) in the manhwa and just gives depth to some scenes.

my main gripe is how the ' 형 hyung' is translated to 'bro'. just the honorifics in general, like it gives you a sense of who's close to whom or how they look at their peers. 'bro' just so unserious to me at this point cus it's tied to 'bruh' which connotes something else?

Many Koreans choose to blur the boundary when they interact with older friends they met socially by calling them “hyung”, “unnie”, “oppa” or “noona”. By using these terms, you show your willingness to be informal as if they were your own brothers or sisters. [as said here] [also source: trust me bro bc i used to be a bg stan]

these panels without the hyung context kinda loses its meaning too (ch297 sammy vs big danny). cus someone who doesn't have a strong understanding on how age/hierarchy/formalities work might not be able to grasp it?

kr fans also made a nickname for jake (김기띵 'gitting'), and yeah it's kr fandom but the thing is, jerry called him that nickname in ch411 and all the english readers got was 'boss'.

just adding also that jason, brad, & jerry call jake 'hyungnim' rather than 'hyung', a politer word. it's still different from samuel's 'chairman' towards yoojin tho. (not much sure at this part but hyungnim's also common for mob boss or some other informal organization [idk bruh this is literally a rant post]) (lua is exempt from calling big deal members honorifics tho, shes above them shes a girlboss) (jake also have moments of calling sinu 'hyungnim' back when sinu was still big deal boss)

also gun praising big deal's intelligence team (lua<3) is more apparent in the kr ver of ch89

also ranted about the same thing before about this gangseo-olly scene

i feel like there are more nuances that we're missing out on (of course i chose big deal scenes lmfaoooo these are the ones i view the most anyways). like ignorance is bliss but AHHHHHHHHHHHH plz just . let us in the lookism world completely

Caleb translation for natsuo is one of the worse like it 10 times ruder in English didn’t shouto and natsuo call dabi the same damn thing but shouto lines weren’t translated like that at all

They didn’t actually use the same.

Shouto said “baka aniki” (idiot brother which Caleb translated to “big jerk”)

Natsuo said “kuso aniki” (which is literally shitty brother, but if you look in a translator it says “fucking brother”)

So I think Natsuo’s choice of insult was stronger, which is also warranted in the situation. Natsuo has a lot of reasons to be angry at Touya and feel strongly about it, more so than Shouto who is more removed in the sense that him and Touya don’t have a personal bond, the thing that connects them is Endeavor’s abuse, so Shouto can see Touya with clear eyes.

Genre: Fluff, childhood friends to lovers, little Stranger Things AU (Reader is Steve's twin)

Warnings: Mention of alcohol, drugs, smoking, and sex, swear words, kinda heated kiss (it's my first time writing something like that but this isn't a smut).

Note: Hiii, this is my fisrt time publishig here, also it’s my first time doing an idol x reader fic so I hope you like it. Also, english is not my first language so I apologize if there are any errors of any kind (I literally write the hole one shot on spanish and then use the google translator lmao, but I also chek every single part of the one shot to try to see any mistakes).

Parties were not quite your style, seeing people smoking between cigarettes or illegal substances, drinking alcoholic drinks and seeing them do anything stupidity because of the effects of these, having your ears saturated with the high volume of music, people screaming, and not missing one or another moan of pleasure out there.

Your brother Steve had dragged you to the party along with his girlfriend Nancy, using the excuse that you had to have some fun since that's what boys did at that age, you still didn't want to go, but he didn't care, since he ended up taking you anyway, using the excuse that Hyunjin was going too so you could hang out.

As soon as they got to the house where the party would be, Steve and Nancy went to god knows where, leaving you alone and surrounded by hormonal guys under the influence of illegal substances for their age.

You let out a sigh and began to walk around the house, looking for your redheaded friend, you thought that his hair being a very striking color would make it easy to find.

To your misfortune, it wasn’t.

You let out a big sigh to find yourself in the middle of the house, being pushed from one side to the other by the people around you, anywhere in the house was more or less the same distance, and you were lazy enough not to want to return to where you were before.

Despite that, you turned around to go back to where you were initially, but a whistle made you stop, you turned to the place where the sound came from and finally you saw him, he was at one end of the house, leaning disinterestedly against the wall, a cigarette between his fingers and a smirk as soon as his eyes met yours.

You immediately went to where he was, once closer to him you managed to recognize the shirt he was wearing, "Hotter than your ex, better than your next". You both had chosen it once when he accompanied you shopping, as soon as you saw it the same thought invaded your minds.

His father will hate it.

And that's exactly why he bought it.

—At least tell me that what you're smoking is legal. —you said while leaning against the wall, right next to him, Hyunjin let out a small nasal laugh and returned the cigarette to his lips, gave him a little smoke and turned to see you with a smile.

—The substance is completely legal —you just rolled your eyes at his mocking tone—. The real smokers are right there. —He said as he moved his head to the side, pointing to several boys who were less than 2 meters away, you hit his shoulder when the characteristic smell of marijuana filled your nose. He was at that end of the house for a reason.

—Moron. —you grumbled as he let out a loud laughter, his distinctive laugh was like music to your ears, and the smile that graced his face every time he laughed was completely sublime.

You wouldn't tell him though.

Not yet.

Little by little he calmed down his laughter, until it finally ceased, but the smile that adorned his face remained intact, and shortly after he smoked the cigarette again, you looked at him carefully, admiring each one of his delicate features, and you were so focused on it that you almost jumped when you felt his arm around your shoulders, giving you a hug.

—But, if one of these touch your pretty lips, we're gonna have problems sweetheart. —he warned seriously as he brought his face dangerously close to yours, looking directly into your eyes, you slowly nod without breaking the eye contact, and his expression relaxed, leaving a sweet smirk on his face.

Hyunjin only separated a little, enough to give another smoke and that the smoke didn’t reach your face, and from one moment to the next, his sight deviated from you, looking towards some part of the crowd, you took advantage of his moment of distraction to admire him again, this time more carefully; but you came out of your thoughts as soon as you noticed that the song that was playing in the background had changed, and despite that, Hyunjin was still staring at the same point.

—Who are you looking at so intently? —you asked looking at him curiously, he just turned his eyes towards you, and then diverted it again to the crowd, you likewise directed your eyes in the direction in which he was looking, meeting a girl, a classmate of your generation, it was somewhat popular for being pretty, but nothing else stood out—. Oh Olivia Moore. —you said with a smile seeing her, Hyunjin smiled sideways, while he nodded his head, confirming that he was looking at her.

—She's hot. —he commented as he exhaled the cigarette smoke for the last time, before throwing it on the ground and stepping on the tagline.

—Yes, she is —you agreed looking at the girl, she was really pretty, and she had a great body, which stood out a lot because of the clothes she was wearing at the time, adding the way she moved her hips while she danced—. So?, What's your plan? Fuck her now or at the end? .—you asked monotonously, you wouldn't be surprised if that ended up happening, you knew Hyunjin too well, and when he wanted something he got it, besides having his glorious face, there were few girls who refused to spend a single moment with him.

—Whoa, you think that badly of me? —he ask with fake disappointment, you just raise an eyebrow at him—. I mean yeah, I'm that badly, but you're supposed to act like I'm not. —he says with a "God, that's obvious" tone, you just place your hand in one of your jackets pockets and take a little sachet, but it was a special one.

A condom, in more detail.

—Use it with wisdom. —you say sarcastically as you held it out to him, he took it and looked at you with a mischievous look.

—Why did you have this in your pocket?. — he asked confused, he knew you well enough to know that you weren't the type of girl to go to parties often, much less to look for one-night stands, so the fact that you had a condom in your pocket was confusing to him.

—Steve —you answered simply, shrugging your shoulders in disinterest—. "Without balloon there's no party", that's what the idiot said. —you told him rolling your eyes, the redhead couldn't help but blurt out another loud laguh, because it was definitely something Steve would do.

The boy put his arm around your shoulders again, hugging you again, the smell of cigarettes was noticeable, you disliked having that smell so present, but it was compensated by the fact of having Hyunjin that close. You had a crush on him since you were 14, even though he was the typical guy who got into fights almost daily, he skipped classes and started having nights of pleasure from a very young age. But despite that, he was very attentive to you, he always tried to show you the best side of him, plus he knew you wouldn't judge him no matter what, so you were always there for him, just like he was for you.

And you were happy and satisfied with that, maybe you wanted to be something more, but for now you weren't complaining.

—How about getting out of here? —he asked as he looked at you with a sweet smile, you looked at him confused by what he said—. C'mon Y/N, I know you aren't enjoying being here, so let's go, I'll take you home. —he said as he took you by the hand and led you to the door.

—But what about Oli-?.

—I wasn't planning on spending night with her. —he clarified as he continued walking, Hyunjin had more experience in parties, so he knew how to move quickly among people, making them arrive quickly at the exit of the house, they both left there, the change of environment was drastic, despite the fact that you could still hear the music coming from the house, just getting some fresh air and not seeing girls your age trying to take jobs away from strippers was reassuring.

You gave a big sigh as you left the place, Hyunjin turned to see you, smiling when he noticed how you relaxed being out of the place.

—That much you wanted to leave?. —he asked you without taking his eyes off you, taking the liberty of intertwining his fingers with yours, you just nodded.

—Don't you think my brother will get worried when he doesn't see me at the party?. —you asked looking at him, Hyunjin just shrugged his shoulders, not taking the matter very seriously.

After a while of walking, you finally reached your house, you opened the door and walked in being followed by Hyunjin.

—God, the party left me exhausted. —you sighed as you dropped into the couch in the living room, Hyunjin looked at you with an unbelievable expression.

—You were like 15 minutes there with me, what are you exhausted for?.

—It's your fault for being so close to the marijuana boys, that shit it's overwhelming for a novice. —Hyunjin let out several laughs at the nickname you had given them, shortly after he approached where you were and squatted to be more or less at the height of the couch.

—Well, I'm glad that you're a novice, princess.

—Sure, now, good night, leave whenever you want. —you said as you closed your eyes, Hyunjin blinked a few times at your sudden action, and rolled his eyes.

—You shouldn't sleep here on the couch, Y/N.

—Shut up and let me sleep —you groaned as you settled more comfortably on the couch, the boy clucked his tongue, and a few seconds later you felt him lift you off the couch, carrying you princess style—. What the hell Hyunjin?. —you asked looking at him, he just smiled at you angelically and started walking towards the stairs.

—I don't want you to hurt your back from sleeping on the couch. —he said as he started up the stairs.

—It's just one night, Jinnie. —you said quietly as you closed your eyes, although that action made you unable to see the smile that adorned the redhead's face when he heard you call him that.

—I don't fucking care, princess — he said as he entered your room, and then gently left you on the bed, while he sat on the edge of it, admiring you with his gaze, you noticed, and connected your eyes with his, dark brown eyes meeting (e/c) ones, he was fascinated with you—. You know, there's something I wanted to tell you, since a while actually.

—Well, say it then. —you answered with a sweet tone.

—I like you, Y/N. —he announced in a honeyed way while he smiled broadly, the tone in which he had said it was a serious one, like he really mean it, but you weren't sure about that, he had given you no sign that he saw you the same way you saw him.

—Sure, probably you are high, who knows how long you were close to the marijuana boys.

—Y/N, I'm not, I swear! —he exclaimed exaggeratedly as he lay down next to you, you only laughed at his tone, only you knew the side of him that acted like a tantrum 6 year old; Hyunjin being closer to you made you look into his eyes, and you witnessed how his pupils were completely normal, you could tell since you had seen him in all possible states, and right now he was in pure sobriety —. I'm not lying. —he clarified, his eyes darting from your eyes to your lips constantly and repeatedly.

You could n't help but blush intensely at his words from him, you wanted to scream for hearing those words coming out of his mouth from him.

He likes you back.

He fucking likes you back.

—I could never lie to you. —he says in a soft murmur, almost whispering, holding your face with both of his hands, he starts to get dangerously close to your face, but he didn't dare to touch your lips, giving you only one chance to back away if you wished.

But you didn't.

Of course you didn't.

And without waiting any longer, you felt his lips on yours almost instantly. He brush his lips in yours, slowly and gently, being as delicate as possible, he had a rhythm that you could easily follow; His hands went to your waist, and he pulled you to him without warning, making you gasp.

The feeling was amazing, his soft lips had a taste that you didn't know before, but it was addictive, you almost thought you could get high. Your hands that previously rested on his chest now encircled his neck, as you ran your fingers through his long hair, and you felt how he melted into your touch.

Without breaking the kiss, the redhead positioned himself on top of you, one of his knees between your legs, and the simple rice made you let out a soft moan, and Hyunjin couldn't help but smile into the kiss.

He press your clit once again, teasing you, this time you let out a soft whimper, but in revenge you bite his bottom lip, and now it was his turn to moan, a mocking smile appeared in your lips, and he couldn't help but laugh and peck your lips one last time.

—Do you believe me now?. —he asked leaning back next to you, taking your hand and leaving a tender kiss on your knuckles.

—I like you too Hyunjin. —you said smiling as you intertwined your fingers with his, Hyunjin hug you, making you rest your head on his chest, while leaving caresses on your back.

—I'm glad —he says in a murmur, not hiding his beautiful smile—. It was a nice kiss though.

—Right… Well… I’m not sure how we ended up kissing like that… —you admitted with your face burning because of your shyness, Hyunjin let out a loud laguh because of the tone you used, he thought you were just too cute.

You settled into your bed, getting ready to sleep, and in a matter of minutes you were completely asleep, while cuddling him.

This was the best party night that you could ever have.
