I'm picturing spending a week on some planet between bounties just holed up in some 2-3 star, mid as fuck hotel and you show him some cowboy type movie and he falls in love with it. He's insisted on watching 4 times during the week and you just can't watch it anymore so you go to the local market for a couple of hours.

As you walk up to the door of your room, key in hand (who still uses metal keys? Only Din would find a place like this and pick it), you hear the credits of the movie scrolling on the holoscreen just inside the room. Thanking the Maker that today's screening is over, you twist the key and open the door...

Sitting on the couch, armor gone and flightsuit discarded on the bed, Din sits with his arms crossed on the corner cushion. A soft grey t-shirt fits snugly against his broad chest and loose, drawstring pants are slightly bunched up around his hips, drawing them short and exposing his ankles crossed on the table in front of him. His head has lolled forward and slightly to the side, eyes closed and cheek scrunched against his collarbone. A soft snore escapes his lips, drawing a light chuckle from your own.

"Din," you whisper, putting your jacket and market goodies down on the table. He doesn't move except for another quick snore and shifting of his head.

You pad quietly to the arm of the couch and drop into a crouch next to him. Your hand gently rests on his cheek, "Din, the movie's over."

He blinks at you, slow and sleepy as he struggles to fully wake from his slumber. "Hmmwhat?" is all he manages to slur before giggles bubble from your chest.

"I told you, you always fall asleep like this," you tease with a gentle pinch of his cheek. "That can't be comfortable for your neck."

"I dunno what you're talking 'bout, 'm fine," he mumbles, untangling his limbs and rubbing his eyes, "Just watching the-". He looks to the holo, finally putting together the meaning of your words.

A light flush rises through his neck, "I wasn't asleep."

With a quick peck on the top of his head, you straighten up and grab your bag to begin putting away what you bought while you were out, "Of course, dear."

A smile tugs at your lips as he glares up at you through full, dark lashes. "I wasn't," he grumbles, absentmindedly rubbing the crick in his neck.

"Mhmm," you noncommittally reply, hands busy on your task.

In spite of how smug you are when you're right, Din knows there's no way he could be upset you. As the final vestiges of sleep ebb from his mind, he stands, stretches, and comes up behind you, wrapping his arms around your waist and pulling you close. "Fine, maybe that time I was asleep."

JOHNNY has definitely tried a short back and sides, and also would have absolutely tried (and kinda rocked) a mullet — but he’d just go back to his usual hair style because hes used to that the most and he knows how to style it without much effort. I definitely think he’d suit the mullet / rocker style though

HITCHHIKER doesn’t really do much with his hair but he’s the type that’d kinda end up suiting a top knot in a crackhead type of way, yk? he occasionally ties up his hair anyway because of it being so warm and when he’s working on making traps n his hair gets in his way and he kinda looks good, so I definitely think after awhile he’d suit it, but his hair is too much his style to change up that much

Every word you wrote about Tamara is just FACTS!!!!!!!!!!!! What I would have given for Grag & Tamara to be so broken because of magic, that they both had plans of revenge. Getting more people involved behind the scenes even. Tragic, yet understandable backstories and a real threat to Storybrooke from the outside world. The fears of some folks in town coming true (the whole E.T. thing Leroy mentioned in the hospital after Greg first showed up). The danger of having magic in a non-magical world.

EXACTLY!!! 'Tragic yet understandable' is the perfect way to phrase it, because OUAT is very good at including antagonists with these kinds of backstories (although, the effectiveness of this varies from character to character) and I'm sad that Tamara didn't get enough attention to receive the same treatment!

Okay, so, I'm gonna lay out some thoughts properly because why not:

(Disclaimer: I'm adding a read more because this got VERY out of hand. But please read on if anyone is interested in headcanoned Tamara backstory!)

(Second disclaimer: I've actually used this general backstory for Tamara in one of my fics before, although I wasn't able to go into quite as much detail at the time)

So, imagine. Tamara is a child (maybe 10 or 11). She has a happy family; parents that love her, a younger brother that she cares about a lot, a pet goldfish, whatever. And then imagine that, one night, 10 year old Tamara hears a noise from her brother's bedroom. She goes to investigate it but, when she opens the door, she finds herself frozen in shock. The window is wide open and her brother is floating in the middle of the room.

There's the faint sparkle of a glowing green dust on him and a dark shadow with bright, hollow eyes floats just beside him. Tamara pinches herself. She thinks she's dreaming. She's not. The shadowy figure spots her and before she can do a thing to stop it, the creature has taken her brother's hand and flown out the window with him. Maybe he cheerfully waves goodbye, maybe he doesn't even notice that she was there at all.

When Tamara finally works up the courage to move, she rushes to the window. Her brother is long gone, but there's a very fine sprinkle of green dust on the windowsill left in his absence.

Of course, she goes to tell her parents and, of course, they panic. Tamara tries to tell them what she saw but they naturally ignore any claims that she saw her brother flying or that the person that kidnapped him was nothing but a shadow with white, glowing eyes.

There was no sign of a break in from anywhere in the apartment. And the investigation team are baffled as to how anyone could have clambered in and out of the window when the room is situated on the third floor of the building. Tamara's brother never comes back and it's eventually considered a cold case.

Tamara has always considered herself honest, logical and responsible. For a long while, she insists that what she saw was true. It's only after she starts getting therapy that she begins to doubt things.

Therapy does little to fix things. Her family is completely broken. A year or so down the line, her parents divorce. Tamara starts to visit her Grandmother more and more often and she develops a very tight bond with her.

Tamara grows up and moves on from it all as best she can. She eventually stumbles into the same conspiracy group that Greg is a part of. They don't connect right away, but, after a couple of meet ups, they discover that they have a lot in common and also come to realise that, perhaps, they're the only two people in this group that have actually seen real magic.

They eventually confide in one another, talking about how 'magic' has ruined their lives. How it's hurt them in ways that no one else in this group that they're a part of will understand. They connect (idk, they can still get together romantically if they want, although I personally didn't see much chemistry between them and the show only really paired them up for shock value let's be honest) and they start talking about fairy tales and Storybrooke.

(Side note, since Greg is kind of aware of Regina being the Evil Queen (right? or is he not aware of that until he reaches Storybrooke again?) maybe he's even able to suggest that it could have been Peter Pan/Peter's Shadow that kidnapped her brother. I like the idea that he's very overly familiar with a lot of fairy tales and stories is more than willing to consider them in the real world ever since his interaction with Regina)

Anyway, I don't know HOW (and forgive me if I'm missing something from canon here, I'm guessing it maybe had something to do with Pan) but I like the idea of Greg in particular managing to track down either August or Neal (since, aside from Emma, those two are the links that lead back to Storybrooke). And, from here, the pair of them start working on plans to get to Storybrooke.

Greg and Tamara are both therefore stuck with these similar backstories, involving someone they loved being taken from them by someone magical. And ALSO similar in the sense that...no one believed them when they tried to tell the truth about this... Not only would this be about getting some kind of revenge (Greg wanting to get closure on his father and then kill Regina when he confirms that she did murder his dad, and Tamara desperate to find some trace of the shadow that took her brother), but it would also be about proving that they were right this entire time. I guess the dilemma for Greg and Tamara is: how? How are they able to prove that magic actually exists, in a world where magic is unseen to those that don't believe in it? (This is a question that I will be pondering on, but not one that I'll be answering here. This ask has already gotten too long, ahahah)

(Still, there's one final thing I'd like to address)

Because, you see, there's something so deliciously tragic about Pan being the one to cause this trauma in the first place. For him to be so heavily responsible for Tamara's tragic childhood and then him continuing to have a chokehold on Tamara years later on. OUGH.

That said? yeah, I absolutely would have preferred if the Pan arc had been kept entirely separate from Greg and Tamara's (aka, they were there exclusively for their own reasons and not just because Pan said so). Greg and Tamara deserved their own arc that had nothing to do with Neverland. No 'home office', no dumb crystal that was triggered to explode the town or whatever (or! DO include those things! but tie them exclusively to John and Michael's story instead!)

I just!!!!!! I have way more feelings about Tamara (and to a lesser extent Greg/Owen) than I know I should and I'm getting a bit weird thinking about her lately!!!!!!

HONDO MENTIONED EVERYBODY CHEER !!! i love that particularly wobbly-kneed wide-eyed man 🩷 i think he's absolutely adorable but also his title defense fight is harder than TD Sandman and u can argue with me all u want . my loss record to this man is higher than my losses against TD Bull ....... anyway UNFORTUNATELY im the most basic of the basic, im a sucker for Hondo and Hugger 🥹 not only do their interests match well but i think they would teach each other different things they wouldn't except to learn without each other. Piston would probably teach Hugger better table manners, Hugger would teach Hondo how to make baked goods, and i think they'd both take the fattest naps together after long days spent hustling outside 🩷 and i think overall their dynamic is just so sweet and their personalities balance one another out

As for the SLIGHTLY less basic one i think Sandman and Piston as either friendship or actual relationship is super cute too. they're both very similar in terms of loss ethic (have u SEEN how mad Hondo looks after u beat him in TD and Sandman's look at the cam ....) and general ethics, and i think they're both extremely respectful and calm despite their characters in the ring. they'd probably make dinner for each other and cook slightly unsavory versions of one another's respective comfort meals bcuz they don't know the full list of ingredients and measurements but they love it anyway for the sentiment 😭 they would take walks around the park together and they both most definitely have soft spots for stray cats

all in all I LOVE PISTON HONDO and i would actually love 2 hear more headcanons about him cuz i want to think about him deeper and love him more !! i apologize for the basic response but it's true 2 me ,, thank u 4 asking 🩷🩷

Hiii it's morning and time for more postal 1 dude idea vomit <3

This one is much more headcanon territory, treading and elaborating on old ground, so forgive me if some of it sounds a bit like repetition. I'm mainly going over stuff like his thought process, morality, and some family stuff! Also, sorry for the awkward wording cause i wrote most of this while i was trying to sleep. |D

Dudes sense of morality is very strange because he esentially had to make it himself based off of learned experience. Growing up undiagnosed and gullible with a overly prideful mother and an apathetic father divided meant neither instilled particularly strong values in him.

Instead he had to learn from his peers, whatever bits and pieces of influence he could get from family, things he got punished for, and just pure lived experience with all the confirmation bias and incorrect conclusions that comes from it.

There is an Uncle Dave equivalent in my headcanon idea of Postal 1. However, with the tone difference, he's a little different. A relative from Dude's mother's side, he's part of a similarly extreme view of God in a similar tone to Postal 2 Dave (God is good, guns are good, god gives us guns, those who dont want us to have guns are bad and against god) though he hasn't gone full compound. He probably goes more by David, but lets Dude call him Uncle Dave.

He's probably one of the people who were the most kind to Dude, but due to his extremist views and awkwardness, truly speaking and relating to him, it led to some bad influence. I think he would have tried to write to or see Dude once before when he got the insanity verdict, but gave up and was unable to face him with the feeling of guilt for not "seeing it coming".

Dude's view of God in general as a figure is complicated, being given three contradictory accounts from his family.

To his mother, God was to be listened to, never to be questioned. His judgment was always what was right, even if it was cruel, as they must have deserved it in some way. He was the judge of all men, and whatever sentencing he gave was final, no matter how inconsequential the "crime" was.

To his father, God was a cruel bastard who threw you out to the wolves, made you figure things out on your own, and never was there for you when you needed him. He was no better than any man on earth and deserved to be questioned and derided for his poor judgments as well.

And to Uncle Dave, God was benevolent, kind, and always watching over his children. Always there to listen, there to answer your prayer, and always there to see when you were acting up. So Dude had better watch his back unless he wanted to have a lot to answer for at the pearly gates.

Dave had likely meant it in a more joking manner to get his nephew to stay out of trouble, but the image of God as a constant surveying force burrowed itself in pretty deep in Dude.

Along with conflicting ideas about God, he has his own strangely built idea of trust from life, mainly related to people. Having grown up different neurologically and physically from his peers, even on a smaller scale when he was young, wasn't easy. He was subject to teasing and bullying at a young age, beginning a lifelong alienation from his peers that lead to his unfortunate fate.

Because he never could trust those who looked nice to not be talking behind his back, it lead him to have an instilled distrust of anything conventionally "kind" or "pretty", associating those things with people trying to hide their true nasty nature. He wasn't mean to others because of it or even really hated them for it, it just made him very distrusting, as if he was bracing himself for a rug pull or being dropped. It caused his guard to rise more, feeling like they were trying to compensate for something and catch him off guard.

This instilled distrust of the "normal" in life also carried onto his life outside of school, from things like advertisements with happy smiling people on them (especially ones that looked at the camera), traditionally loved animals like golden retrievers or butterflies, others with almost condescending tones, and homes that felt a little too nice. When at the peak of his paranoid state, just seeing normal people walking around or talking made him start to worry.

In reverse, however, he's less scared of the uncanny, the "if X is true, then there's the opposite Y" mindset he built meant anything strange was just being honest. Plus while he doesn't think about it purposefully, he thinks of them as being similar to him, sort of underdogs and scary for the "normal" ones. To him, if they display their unsettling part on the outside, there can't be much of any on the inside, whether that be something simple like goth people (I like to imagine him adopting the look when he's more comfortable with himself, sort of a reverse where the more goth he is the happier he is and the more casual he is the opposite follows) to outright horror figures being slightly comforting.

P1 Dude's mindset is paradoxically very complex and incredibly simple.

He knows plenty of strategic ideas, writing techniques, big words, and bits and pieces of his past school life still stick with him. He tends to think very deeply about things he does, about life around him, stories, and even more philosophical ideas. Some of it he writes down, and some he lets go. He also enjoys learning new things and sharing those things he learns, even if he does so a little strongly.

Dude does at least try to keep himself somewhat grounded in his thinking, mostly to keep himself from getting trapped in any harmful thinking, hurting the innocent (as far as he can when he's not deep in a bad mindset), and giving too much time to more "out there" conspiracy stuff akin to faked moon landings, aliens, cryptids, or the typical "(insert group of people) caused everything bad ever" ideas, but he tends to get caught in a loop in his thoughts.

He worries about something, because he worries about it that something comes to fruition, that fruition leads to a reinforcement of the idea, and that reinforcing leads back into worrying. It's an awful cycle, and with no real learned way to cope, it only got worse and worse with age. When he's allowed to think, it rarely stops, and though he is self aware at moments, he has no way to correct the behavior.

He's also incredibly prone to a black-and-white idea of the basics of life. Good people and bad, there is no identity behind them, but they're incredibly concrete ideas to him. Some people protect and some people hurt, and he is meant to protect others, at any cost. He has problems handling the idea of a grey, the idea that most things in life aren't binary. It scares him, the idea he can't do good for everyone, and that even if he tried there will still be those who are hurt or unhappy.

A lot of his self-worth was built on the idea of what he did for others, getting good grades, being kind, never complaining, and doing what was expected of him, but when he wasn't able to keep that up his world crumbled below him and no matter what he did he only ended up falling further. Even during that horrific survival state, he had the base idea of keeping those outside safe, deciding he had to handle the infected police force and act as the one to take those suffering out of their misery. It's both selfish and selfless in a way. He wants to do good for others and save everyone but also decides he is the one who gets to decide the fate of those around him to do so.

Part of the simplicity is that "if X then Y" thinking, following almost a rudimentary idea of justification and reasoning. The biggest part of it is him in the moment of combat, focusing on trying to keep himself alive to continue the fight, and it still lingers in the moments in between when he hides in the woods or in abandoned buildings to patch himself up. If he keeps at it he'll have to find a conclusion, there has to be a reason for the wrong, and if there is a source he has to be able to end it, however even before he was still a victim to it, if I do what others want then I'm doing good, if I look normal people will like me, if people like me they won't hurt me anymore, if I become what they want then I'll truly be loved.

It's just not how the world works, no matter how much he wants it to be true.

Easily one of the most different around their beloved in private vs in public, even when he is utterly smitten, he can't change his stony exterior. So in public he's sliiiightly kinder and softer to you than his other close comrades, but in private it's a whole other matter. Only when he's alone would you find him acting emotional, and honestly needy for you and your affections.

Temperance - What made this person yandere for their darling?

As mentioned before he's very emotionless and coy on the outside, so even if he were feeling a romantic connection, he would likely need at least some kind of romantic validation or security from you to feel as though it were "safe" for him to pursue you like this. Likely, Than is more drawn to people who exude "warmth", "security", people who embody what he struggles to provide for himself.

Oh my god ily (platonic) so much for asking this!!!! (Also ur welcome :P)

Anyways, on to the hcs!!

How it happens:

Okay so first thing's first, Joe is terrified of Aran before they get to know each other. Granted, he's scared of the whole world circuit cause he doesn't know them but Aran is defo the scariest because of the violent cheating.

When Joe finally bridges the gap between the minor, major, and world circuits, he's still hesitant to talk to Aran cause, again, violent cheating plus bursting with energy… but there's something about him, something Joe can't quite put his finger on, that's just fascinating about Aran. Aran ends up approaching first and they get on really well.

So they get to talking and find out not only do they have a lot of interests in common (Love for horror media, generally alt/gothic/darker music, love of edgy aesthetics, interested in creative hobbies, etc.) but they also share many similar life circumstances (Both having been denied high school, having to work very young, poverty, disability, being trans, etc.) and end up bonding.

Aran already had a bit of a crush on Joe, but it only deepens with the new friendship. Joe on the other hand has Aran slowly wrap around his heart and he's drowned in love before he even realizes.

The confession always ends up being kind of chaotic and dramatic but overall very sweet and perfect for both of them :)

When everyone else finds out holy shit there is chaos. Kaiser's upset cause he had a crush on Joe and now is pretty bitter towards Aran (They all talk it out its fine). Sand also had a crush on Joe but lets his feelings go and is supportive along with the rest of the world circuit. Hippo, disco, and bear are hesitant about it but Hondo ends up making them chill. Don tries to get in on dating them and is rejected. And tiger is busy comforting kaiser but he's honestly kinda happy for both of them cause kaiser is now free.

The relationship goes pretty smoothly from there with little to no major hiccups and both influencing each other to be better though not entirely different people.

Other random hcs:

Pet names all the time

Aran has a habit of staring at people he likes very intensely and creepily. It's like that one scene in the shining.

Any normal person would not like this. Joe is not a normal person and enjoys it a lot, feeling like he's being showered with praise and affection whenever he feels Aran's creepy stare on him.

Aran also has a thing where he draws whoever he's dating all the time- its especially intense with Joe as he has at least a couple sketchbooks entirely dedicated to him.

They ended up accidentally learning each other's languages- Joe mostly from Aran talking to the dog and writing in Irish and Aran from Joe's fancy french films and books

They wake up close to the same time- early in the morning, though Aran wakes up closer to sunrise.

Aran picks Joe up and carries him around all the time- both love it.

Love getting into wild shit together and going for drinks. Going to shows or scenic moped rides/walks is another good contender for their dates.

Aran and Joe are both big dancers and musicians, so dancing and singing together is a favorite pastime at their apartment

These two RUSH to move in together- it leads to a lot of chaos with their pets but things cool off quickly

They often do house chores and cook together

Joe doesn't care about Aran's cheating for the most part, that's Aran's choice to do- he's in love with the man outside the ring after all, but he does tell Aran to never do the horseshoes and flail thing again

Both have a lot of self worth issues- Aran believes he can't be loved romantically no matter what he does so he chooses to embrace his ugly side to push people away while Joe believes that he must hide himself to even be fit for society and serve everyone to no end

In turn, Joe likes being spoiled and doted on (From being forced to serve past partners to get affection) and Aran enjoys being able to serve and unambiguously show his affection (From being denied the ability to show past partners he loved them and told he should be grateful when he was)

They do a lot of work on each other. Joe helps Aran feel safer around people/being loved as himself and not cheat as much while Aran helps Joe become more willing to embrace his weirdness and stand up for his own well being, especially to people he cares about. Joe also helps Aran get help for all his mental issues and helps him feel safe going to a damn therapist.

Aran is super supportive of Joe's love for dark/macabre things and eventually convinces him to embrace being goth. From then on its all punk/goth solidarity

Joe constantly steals Aran's clothes and Aran tends to wear Joe's pants (Even if they're a little short on him)

They also take care of each other after matches a lot

Joe keeps track of things like appointments but Aran does all the math and date-keeping in the relationship

Cuddling is a must for both of them

Joe really likes when Aran grows his hair out, he love rubbing up against his beard like a cat, especially cause he can't grow much facial hair of his own

Aran has been trying to convince him to get a shared tattoo, to no success (So far)

They have a habit of making each other clothes- Joe repairs and embroiders things for Aran and Aran knits for Joe

They've babysat Joe's niece and nephew a few times and Aran's younger sibling and are DEFINITELY both thinking about kids

yeah streamers au!!!!! :D i'm thinking all of them also upload their own videos on youtube too, but some originated as streamers and some as youtubers (more streamer au hcs under!!)

like i said in the other post, i think zelda would be analogous to someone like pokimane or valkyrae, and does variety/just talking streams. i don't think she would take advantage of or even be aware of her simps/e-girlism, she's actually very sweet and a just bit naive :'>. she probably already collaborates a lot with urbosa, and has on done a video or two with mipha. i would say she probably started off streaming first and then eventually starting doing youtube to post her vods, then make her own videos

mipha would kinda be like the qtcinderella and urbosa would be like. corpsehusband lowk ☝️😳 mipha does a lot of cutesy stuff like acnh and stardew valley playthroughs, maybe cooking & baking videos, and also like lifestyle videos like GRWM or 'day in the life' vlogs. her first video was a first aid video because she wanted to be a pediatrician when she was younger 🥺 urbosa started off as a youtuber and is one of those like old legendary youtubers who's still around so she's seen the rise and fall of the internet fr. she's very wise and she's zelda's favorite youtuber growing up, role model, and mentor 🥺 mipha probably also watched some of urbosa's videos growing up and cites urbosa as one of her inspirations when she started her own youtube channel :)

revali absolutely started off as a streamer but he excels as a youtuber, as expected. he does a lot of speedrun or challenge streams/videos of video games and i lowkey think that he has beaten quite a few speedrun records, only bested by link who he has an ongoing rivalry with because they keep beating each other's records. revali mostly does stream highlight videos, but every once in a while he'll do a fun little collab video with someone else or on the rare occasion, a vlog or a grwm 😧 someone asked him how he keeps his hair so nice on stream and he was so proud he ended up making a whole video about his haircare routine, what products he uses, etc HAHAHA

link is definitely the type of guy who made dumb little videos as a kid but eventually evolved into a full-fledged content creator with high quality videos and excellent ideas. he definitely does a lot of nintendo game videos (people adore his acnh playthrough series and his collabs with mipha 🥺), but i think he would also upload a lot of like. scenic videos of places he's traveled to or hiked at because he's pretty good at filming and editing. link def found his love for streaming and speedrunning on accident by, get this— watching one of revali's streams 😳😳😳 but he forgets that it was by revali 😭 link is like, This looks fun I want to try, so he does and is actually really good at it. so he ends up streaming the same exact games that revali did and beating his records, and revali would get pissed that his records were getting broken, and thus the rivalry was born!

what daruk does as a streamer or youtube still escapes me though like i just don't know what he would do. i can't even see him streaming KDJHFKJD like what would he do? maybe make reviews videos about old gaming systems, retro games, or reviews on his favorite restaurants or something LOL feel free to offer any ideas for him bc i'm lost lowkey

Got a few more Elmer and Spot (+ Pierogi) Thoughts for you: - Although Spot was both glad Elmer was safe and willing to let him stay in Manhattan, he still worries a lot because he knows Elmer gets himself into trouble a lot, sometimes needs help throughout the day. How could he be sure those newsies in Manhattan were gonna be nice to Elmer?

- He was initially a little jealous of JoJo and Henry when he found out Elmer had befriended them. His older brother instincts were telling him it should be him looking out for Elmer, not them (he was particularly irked that JoJo got Elmer a cat before Spot could). He's warmed up to them a lot since then, though

- They don't usually fight, but there have been a few arguments between them. Elmer wants to be treated more like a grown-up, he's not a little kid and if he got through the strike that proves he can look after himself, surely. Spot thinks it only proves the older boys were looking out for him, that he is a little kid and he doesn't want his baby brother to grow up any faster than he's already been forced to

- Pierogi only truly likes Elmer, he's still a bit nervous around the other boys. He likes Spot, however. On the few occasions Elmer come to spend the night in Brooklyn, Pierogi spends most of the evening in Spot's lap

I love the idea of Spot being protective of Elmer. I kind of feel like the Manhattan newsies are known for their playful teasing the way the Brooklyn newsies are known for their toughness. Spot knows that reputation and worries because his little brother can't always tell when someone is joking. He knows how insecure Elmer is and he doesn't want him getting hurt, even if it's an accident

I think Spot being jealous of Henry and Jojo actually would make a lot of sense. Jealousy is usually rooted in insecurity, and when Elmer left Brooklyn Spot felt like he had done something to make Elmer upset and run away. He sees how close Elmer is to the other two and Spot can't help but feel like he could have been a better brother (even though Elmer assures him multiple times that he's a fantastic brother)

Elmer and Spot fighting about Elmer wanting more independence (not sure if that's the word I'm looking for but whatever) also makes a lot of sense to me. Spot knows his little brother had to grow up way too fast, and he wanted to give Elmer a bit of a better childhood before their time together was cut short by Elmer leaving. He looks at Elmer and still sees him as he was before he left Brooklyn, but Elmer's changed so much. Spot could still help him be a kid while letting him be the more mature person he's grown to be, because you don't have to stop doing childish things every once in a while just because you grow up.

I know I mentioned it yesterday, but I really do love the idea of Elmer being the only one Pierogi trusts in Manhattan and then Pierogi just goes right to Spot not long after they meet for the first time. (Also, if this was a modern AU, all the Manhattan boys would have a group chat and Elmer would absolutely send them a pic of Pierogi in Spot's lap just to see what their reactions would be lmao)

Alright. So. First of all (I hope you are listening):

I. Am. An. Amazing. Dad.

Yeah, I admit I didn't want kids for a long-ass time. They're a lotta work and my plates are always pretty damn full already, but sometimes you just have that calling you know? And my calling is to dad the shit out rugrats, 'lill punks, and 20-somethings who think they're hot shit already but haven't learned how to not get sucker punched every five minutes.

But anyway. Five Papa Crane facts coming right up.

*holds up a finger* One: No child of mine grows up without a dog.

Two: I'm the dad with the baby sling. I'll be carrying that muchkin around all day if I can get away with it. DISCLAIMER: This only applies to children of the appropriate age, I am not about to strap Aiden to my chest. Okay, so, I may have done that once but that's called tandem paragliding, alright?

Three: Lullabies. They may not all be PG, but there will be lullabies. This applies to children of all ages, whether they like it or not. But we'll call them sea shanties for the big ones.

Four: Every child of mine learns how to deal with bullies and how to not be a bully. The Crane household is a bully-free zone. That goes for any child acquired at any age.

favorite season: it is habitual ( & largely justified ) for gojo to assume that he has unsurpassed understanding of the characteristics of mass & energy & everything in between. as a child it took him longer than he’d like to admit to develop red & blue. logically, then, it took him even longer to master purple. when he finally succeeded, he felt the weight of purple’s imaginary-mass in the palm of his hand. it felt heavy, & it felt exhilarating. gojo can’t remember if he smiled immediately upon his success — but he remembers that he bit his cheek hard enough that it bled.

regardless, manipulation of purple built an expectation that gojo can manipulate energy & sensations. to some degree — it’s justified. to some degree, it’s arrogance.

when the weather changes & the seasons change, the energy changes —- when gojo starts experiencing the subsequent changes in temperature, it annoys him mildly. the cold should not touch him; it should not be so easy for the sun’s rays to make him sweat within his uniform.

he laughs off his annoyance.

still, the feeling is something that lingers in him.

he picks his favorite season based on how much control it allows him. summer isn’t worth it for its heat & busywork & sunshine. winter is sometimes too bright, but fine. everything seems dead —- even so, winter would be his favorite season if it weren’t for the winter winds. then there’s spring. though the temperature is pleasant, spring has too much new life, & gojo can see too much. it’s definitely a contestable favorite though.

that leaves fall. he isn’t crazy about the color scheme, but he enjoys the festivals. fall will do in a pinch.

favorite student: lmao sorry gojo never read ‘how to teach for dummies.’ he does what my graduate supervisor does —- & he makes his favorites very known. in his imagination, this pits students against each other in a way that promotes healthy competition, motivation, & respect.

his teaching method & inspiration is heavily drawn from his own perspective & memories of his time as a student. as a teenager, he was competitive even though he rarely felt he had competition. he was motivated because he liked gamifying his tasks (when he could; sometimes the work was too serious for even him to joke about). over time, he learned that he did better when he respected his peers.

since he started his employment as a teacher, he carries strong ideals & values for what he wants the education of jujutsu sorcerers to look like. he feels righteous about it as much as he feels spiteful about it. gojo alone can’t embody the change for which he advocates.

however : gojo’s temperament is sometimes fickle. although he makes his favorites known, it’s also true that different students have their turn for being his favorite for different things.

for instance? yuta? he’s a favorite because he’s just fun. very capable. megumi? personal bias, sure, but he’s a favorite too. so much potential there.

itadori’s a favorite though because he fans gojo’s ego though lmao.

sleeping habits: whether gojo feels flatly grateful towards sleep or hates it is dependent on the day. on one hand, he has learned that rest was essential to his use of the six eyes. what’s more, he dislikes being tired more than sleeping —- as teenager, gojo has memories of bemoaning bags beneath his eyes; he claimed he was starting to look too much like shoko. what’s more, he gets migraines when he abandoned rest. sleeping was the weaker of two evils.

on the other hand, he hates the vulnerability & inactivity that comes with sleep. he’s restless. he has always been restless. to contain limitless is to recognize the vibrations of infinite atoms, of infinite indestructible energy.

when he learned to use reversed cursed energy, it felt a personal victory. here was an end to his personal battle between sleep & waking; here was a triumph against the limitations of his humanity.

since then, he rarely sleeps —- sometimes he naps & dozes in thirty minute increments. the action feels more recreational than it does necessary. he stays awake even if he’s not working; there’s also something he can do, something a little fun.

he stays awake until he realizes that it’s been five days, & that the days have blurred together into one unbroken lump of time.

people don’t just sleep because they’re tired, because their body needs a reset.

people sleep because when days stretch too long, it makes hysteria bubble somewhere in the gut.

when gojo verges on mania, he thinks it’s a little hilarious.

it’s only then that gojo sleeps. he crashes for twelve hours because five days is a little sickening. he crashes for twelve hours with bedsheets kicked off his body & a space heater running because

he hates the feeling of blankets on his skin when he sleeps, but he hates to be cold.

he gets cold easily.

he gets hot easily.

to sleep well, he needs blackout curtains lining his windows. there can be no electronic screens in the room, & he prefers for a window to be open. he drools a little, sleeps on his stomach, & sleeps in silence.
