Kobeni from Chainsaw Man is a D&D Fighter
Okay yeah crazy people make dumb shit in D&D all the fuckin’ time, you can just say what the fuck on the internet. Some idiot made an article on how to play Cyberpunk Edgerunners characters in D&D what’s the big deal?
The big deal is that the D&D Fighter isn’t really...well represented in actual fiction. Controversial take, I know, but most uh...most mundane characters in fiction don’t really fit the bill of ‘Only good at combat but in a mostly superficial way that’s completely outclassed by the real shit of the setting’.
They’re not this:
Tumblr media
This unique blend of...hell on earth that just isn’t present in actual fiction. One could say completely fucking unplayable. For those not in the know, this is D&D 3.5′s iteration of Fighter. For those who play 5e, this is basically the widely-mocked Champion Fighter subclass.
They’re proficient with all simple weapons, all martial weapons, all armor, and all shields including tower shields. They also have the following class skills: Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Ride (Dex), and Swim (Str)...with a grand total of 2 + Intelligence bonus skill points per level. That’s right, if you’re a Fighter of Average intelligence, you get to be okay in...2 skills.
And their saves are atrocious. If something even slightly scary shows up, the average Fighter is shitting themselves and running for the fucking hills.
This is obviously wildly fucking unrepresentative of any character in fantasy fiction. Too many demonstrate the ability to do more than just fight, and the characters who are famous for focusing on fighting are in series where being good at fighting means you can cut mountains in half or blow up the moon. And they’re all so...brave. Immune to fear even.
Enter God’s Chosen Failwoman
Tumblr media
She’s a Public Safety Devil Hunter from the hit manga Chainsaw Man. She does this because her family made her, and it was either killing devils or prostitution.
Kobeni is a massive coward and in the first arc she’s introduced in with The Eternity Devil, she’s all too willing to simply kill Denji and give his heart up. When something scary is happening, Kobeni is the first to coward out.
Kobeni also isn’t very skilled. She quits public safety to go work fast food, and she can barely do that. Fast Food, considered entry-level work in this hellish economy due to how easy it is to teach someone to do it.
And yet, something curious.
When it comes to completely normal, completely mundane, completely comprehensible violence, Kobeni is unphased, and is insanely good at it. Sure, her partner got shot, but her reaction was to simply kill the shooter
Tumblr media
and then go find the perpetrators
Tumblr media
And when confronted by a frankly mundane demon attack, it doesn’t even touch her:
Tumblr media
She’s also good enough with that knife, which for all intents and purposes is a completely mundane kitchen knife to slice clean through bone:
Tumblr media
It’s groundbreaking. I’ve searched far and wide, but I’ve never found a character in fiction who perfectly lines up with everything that D&D 3.5 and even core Pathfinder 1e Fighter sets out to emulate. Someone who’s only good at violence, who’s insanely good with only one weapon, but can never break out of being completely mundane with their violence. Who, no matter how strong they get, how hard they work, is only human, with entirely human limits.
Here’s how you build Kobeni.
You need a high Strength and Dex. You need to be a Human. You need Weapon Finesse. You need to take Weapon Focus and Weapon Specialization, the full featline, with whatever knife of your choice (Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization, Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization, Melee Weapon Mastery). Take Lighting Reflexes. Take Light Armor Specialization.
Hell, if you want to more closely emulate how Kobeni functions, take the Combat Focus featline, which puts you into a sort of battle trance once you make a successful attack that lasts for about 10 rounds, which gives a bonus to will saves and other effects. Effects you can only get in Combat.
And guess what? You’ll be getting the genuine Kobeni experience. Being only good at completely mundane violence in a world that dramatically ramps up in stakes and moves past you.

Maria Torres, A.K.A Spawn {F}
Tumblr media
"Size does not equate to performance!"
You’ve never met anyone like her before. She’s a Filipina, a former policewoman who left her homeland in search of a better life. But fate had other plans for her. One night, she heard a commotion taking in a dark alley, and something inside her snapped. She felt a surge of power, a primal instinct to protect the innocent and destroy crime. That was the night you found her, and turned her into one of your own.
She’s not just a woman, she’s a hybrid. A hunter, like you, who prowls the night for evil. Your uncle, the leader of your team, has assigned you to train her and teach her the ways of your kind. It’s not an easy task, but you’re determined to help her adapt and survive.
She’s a paradox, a contradiction. She’s tough and fierce, but also vulnerable and sensitive. She’s sarcastic and rude, but also shy and sweet. She’s small and lean, but also strong and wild. She’s like a irritating puzzle that won't fit in on the board and darn captivating as well, and you can’t help but feel drawn to her.
But she’s also stubborn and independent. She pushes you away at every turn, trying to keep her distance from you. She acts like she doesn’t need you, or anyone else. But when you flirt with her, she blushes and tries to hide her horrible poker and angwy face. You can tell she’s hiding something, something that makes her afraid to let you in.
"Will you be able to break through her walls, or will you fall victim to her feisty attitude? There’s something about Maria that will leave you breathless and curious. Her story is a mystery that you want to solve, and her character is one that you’ll fall in love with or fell in love with her personality."
Charles Tepes, A.K.A Bloodless {M}
Physical Appearance:
Tumblr media
"The soulless feeds on humans, while I feast on the vampires dead beating hearts!"
Meet the descendant of Vlad The Impaler himself, a powerful lineage that would make any vampire quake in fear. But despite his ancestry, he is seen as nothing more than a low blood by his fellow vampires. Why, you may ask? It's because his father committed the ultimate sin in the eyes of the Court Of Blood - he fell in love with a human, making his son a Dhampir.
As if that wasn't enough, his family was eradicated for violating the sacred rule of never weakening their line by cavorting with a human. It's no wonder why he's driven by vengeance, wanting to burn and stake those responsible for the trauma that he's suffered. He'll move heaven and earth to avenge the honor and lives of his past family, and nothing will stop him.
But beneath his hardened exterior lies a heart that beats with passion and longing. Can you be the one to reignite that spark, or will you end up on his list of bastards to get staked?
"He's a mysterious and alluring character, one that will leave you with goosebumps and a desire to know more about him. Despite his troubled past, there's something about him that draws you in, making you want to unravel the secrets of his heart. Will you take the chance and fall for this dark and brooding Charles?"
Angel Lustra, A.K.A Ripper {F}
Physical Appearance:
Tumblr media
"Top to the morning to yah! Business or pleasure?
As you approach the Legion's resident devil, Angel, you can't help but feel a sense of trepidation. Don't be fooled by the name, for she's no heavenly creature. But as you get closer, you also can't deny the allure that surrounds her. There's something about her that draws you in, despite the danger that seems to emanate from her very being.
Angel is not just any blacksmith - she's the one responsible for developing the weapons of the team. And she takes her job very seriously. Her nickname is not just for show, as she's earned it in the most brutal and satisfying way - by leaving her enemies to rest in pieces.
She's an unhinged and demolition specialist, and she wants every weapon she crafts to make the creatures combust or implode. Her services may be acceptable, but when she's deployed on the battlefield, heads will always roll and blood will run freely.
As you try to court Angel, you can't help but wonder if you'll be able to stay in one piece. Her past suitors have not fared well, and you can still feel the chill that runs down your spine when you think about the gruesome ends they met.
They all ended up as mutilated corpses, or worse, as her personal playthings. But you think you can be different. You think you can tame the beast within her, and make her yours.
"But there's something about Angel that makes you want to take the risk. Her bloodthirsty aura, combined with her deadly skills and sharp wit, is enough to make anyone weak in the knees. Can you resist her dangerous charm and win her heart without losing your own? Angel is a character that will make your heart race and your skin crawl with burning desire or maybe your just burning in flames right now?"
Chase Holland, A.K.A Seeker {M}
Physical Appearance:
Tumblr media
"I hope this playfulness of yours is good in bed, yes?"
You’ve always been curious about the Lycan and tracker of the group. He’s a self-proclaimed incubus, a lover of all things living and breathing. He claims it’s his nature, his animal instinct, but you wonder if he’s just hiding behind his lust. He’s a skilled hunter, and he never fails to deliver his target. But he also never misses a chance to seduce anyone who catches his eye. He’s charming, but he’s also reckless.
Despite his sleazy demeanor, there's something dark and intriguing about him. He avoids talking about it, and whenever you try to pry, he distracts you with his compliments. He makes you feel special, but you also know he says the same thing to everyone else.
But as you spend more time with him, you start to see a different side of him. A side that’s deeper, more complex, more genuine. A side that makes you want to know him better, and maybe even love him.
"Will you be able to break through his walls and reach his heart? Or will you be just another notch on his belt? Chase is a character that will make your pulse quicken and your mind wander will limitless possibilities on the topic of love and its sub-topics. Will your love for him blossom into something real and everlasting, or will it be just a dust on the wind?"

Okay.. so... fairly long post under the cut with the sort of background to my Sonic Underground AU!! If anyone's interested fjdgv I have thought about it a Lot lol
So basically, The background is that Eggman has definitely been up to shit since before Sonic was born lol and one of his sort of things when he I guess started out in villainy ? was he started trying to claim land and take over so that he could build his cities and theme parks and factories and what have you and rule over everything. So, after claiming some untouched land he started attacking “Mobian'' settlements, (not sure whether to stick with Mobian or what but the word gets my point across so I’m using it now sfgdh) and I guess started working his way up until he found Christmas Island, which is the small Kingdom Aleena ruled over at the time. This caused the Kingdom to fight back and started a war with Robotnik. However. Obviously the warzone was no place to be raising the Very recently born heirs to the throne (the three who would grow up to be Sonia Sonic and Manic, they might’ve had different names back then lol) and so Aleena with a Very heavy heart sent the three Far away, they had them sent to a dinky little orphanage in a fairly distant zone, intending to pick them back up when the war was over.
Unfortunately, Very early on in the triplet’s stay at the orphanage, when they were still practically babies, an unfortunate cot placement led to Manic being kidnapped sometime in the dead of night (don’t ask why they did it I just think it’s funny love and light). He was taken to a nearby city, and somehow managed to endear himself to Ferral, the leader of one of the larger sort of crime rings active there. This is where he learned to get by and live and thrive, little crime family they love each other and rag on each other so much smile smile smile.
Sonic stayed in the orphanage a lot longer than Manic, but doesn’t really remember his time there all that much. As soon as Sonic figured out how to, he ran. Ran as fast and as far as he was able. Ran until he had no idea how to get back. But he'd not a guilt on his conscience. He was free, for the first time felt truly free. He learned how to survive on his own and met a little two tailed fox cub and his life played out pretty much exactly the same as it does in the main line continuity :)
Sonia is the only one of the three who has any memory of staying in the orphanage and was the only one to leave there by regular means dgfhfg. At about five years old, she was one of a few girls from across the continent to be chosen to attend and live at an all girls school where they would grow into proper ladies™, being taught etiquette and manners and so on. She managed a fairly cushy lifestyle here but was never truly happy there. She obviously has her besties like Mindy, but it always felt far too restrictive and (figuratively) cold. So while she does do well there, she is slightly prone to getting in trouble and feels kind of belittled and invisible among her peers at times
So in the triplet’s maybe 3rd year? The war on Christmas Island ended and the Mobians were unfortunately forced to go into hiding. Aleena made it out and went into her own hiding in the form of laying low in a residential area in a nearby city, and attempted to blend in there for a few years before making the trip to finally reunite with her children. Unfortunately by the time she gets there, all three are gone :( Even though the orphanage may know where Sonia is, she feels as though she has failed all three as their mother and wouldn't be able to face any of them (despite the fact they're like. 6 year olds lol), and so retreats back to her city home.
Until, over a decade later, Aleena sees the world renowned hero Sonic the Hedgehog that she hears so much about, (maybe he’s just saved that part of the city from a badnik attack or something like that) and there is just… something about him that is so uncannily like her Bernie… His heroism and humility right down to his mannerisms, the being blue also adds to the effect. And… Aleena is not one to get her hopes up, but the chance of this being one of her missing children after all these years…
Then I’m thinking maybe, she is wearing the equivalent of the three medallions and, maybe as she gets closer to Sonic one of them has some sort of magical reaction ? or something I’m not actually sure. But something DOES confirm to Aleena that This is one of her kids oh my god!! And he’s just like his (other) mother… Aleena gets overwhelmed and ends up not talking to him. Sonic maybe notices someone in a long flowy jacket running away from the crowd, but gets distracted by the many other thankful citizens around him to really take note of it lol
This is when Aleena writes her letter to Sonic. She looks him up, tries very hard to find out where he lives. Ultimately coming up with nothing she’s like IS MY BOY HOMELESS?? But then what comes up eventually is a plethora of small garages and laboratories under the name Dr. Miles Prower and is like Oh! An apprentice maybe :) lol and so she rolls the dice and chooses one of those locations at random and hopes her message gets to him soon.
This is just the leadup to what would be the "main plot" of the AU and I do have more for it!! So if this like. Text based way of explaining my ideas is alright I can share more from the google doc if ppl are interested!! And maybe I'll doodle some stuff for it here n there who know (seems likely tho lol)

tmnt 2012: splinter projecting himself and shredder onto leo and raph
a rant / analysis
Tumblr media
1.4k words; unedited
under cut
WRITING THIS AT LIKE 5:30AM BECAUSE I PHYSICALLY CANNOT GET THIS OUT OF MY BRAIN WHY HAVEN'T I SEEN PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THIS
okay okay, im gonna try to talk about this as clearly and concisely as i can. 2012 splinter is projecting his relationship with shredder onto leo and raph. people have probably talked about this but i just wanna explain my point of view on this.
so. as the story goes, shredder (also known as oroku saki) was found by splinter's (also known as hamato yoshi) father after the foot clan was defeated. splinter's dad adopted shredder and raised him as his own, having splinter and shredder be brothers. we all know this (i assume).
we also know that splinter and shredder's relationship, while always competitive, doubled down on that (and even became bitter and spiteful, even on both sides at points), when tang shen is added into the mix. as the story goes, both splinter and shredder fall in love with tang shen, but she falls in love with splinter, and so shredder gets all pissy and violence occurs. since they couldn't come to an agreement, tang shen died and miwa (now known as karai) was literally kidnapped by shredder.
but what does this have to do with leo and raph? lemme tell you what
leo and raph, in the very beginning of the series (literally the pilot), are introduced to us to be butting heads, even after sparring is over. as the pilot continues, raph is bitter that leo was chosen as leader, even though raph was physically stronger than leo. even after it was proved that raph couldn't be leader (and leo got to stay leader), there was always some sort of tension between the two throughout the course of the series (or at least up to season four, i have yet to find a way to watch season five and watch their dynamic during then. but i figure, given the clips ive seen, that their tension seemed to mellow out in that final season.)
do you see any parallels there? because i do
so. two brothers, training to be ninjas in the hamato clan. growing up, they were always butting heads, but that's not to say there was any malicious intent in that. then, one day, something the both of them want is added. (tang shen for splinter and shredder, leadership for leo and raph.) this only causes more tension to grow between them, causing their previous unharmful headbutting to take a turn for something a bit more hurtful. next, this special something is chosen for the more responsible brother. (tang shen falling in love with splinter, and it being proven that leo is the only brother with the mental ability to lead the team.) this, of course, only deepens the hot headed brother's bitterness; which in turn makes this brother act out in aggression towards the responsible brother. (shredder attempting to murder splinter, and raph having less self control when training against leo. (if im not wrong, there's an episode where raph's anger gets the best of him, and he goes too far on training with leo. if anyone can confirm that, that would be great lmao).).
so why do i say splinter is projecting this relationship onto leo and raph? great question.
as seen throughout the series, it's not all that difficult to see how splinter has farm more of a relationship with leo than he does raph, donnie, and mikey. the blatant favoritism is, due to what i believe, is seeing his younger self in leo. he's hardworking, responsible, reliable, diligent, and would do anything for the hamato clan / family. this is how we saw splinter himself act when the turtles went back in time when they first met renet. and if it's true that splinter saw his younger self in leo, then he very easily could've been seeing shredder's younger self in raph.
raph, being impulsive, having a short fuse, being very physically powerful, butting heads with the responsible brother, those are all traits that shredder had when he was younger. even the way that leo and raph's relationship dynamic was, it was parallel to splinter and shredder's. and when splinter declared leo the leader, that parallel became even more apparent.
but, splinter had already seen first hand how that parallel ended the first time: death, loss, and overall tragedy. and so, i believe splinter decided to try and nip the problem in the bud.
with raph, we can see splinter time and time again trying to mellow raph's anger; to have him bottle it up instead of letting it be a part of him and learning to control it. the biggest example i can think of is the episode "turtle temper", one of, if not the first proper non pilot episode of the entire series. not only does splinter set raph up for failure with his training exercise, but he literally told raph a story of him and shredder, and how the shredder exploited splinter's anger. even though splinter was comparing shredder to someone else, the use of a story about splinter and shredder leads me to believe that splinter could be using those experiences, in more ways than the one shown in "turtle temper", to help splinter parent raph and leo. now, while not actively villainizing raph, splinter still does paint raph's anger issues in a darker light than what they are.
and on the flip side, how does this affect splinter's parenting of leo? well, splinter already saw what happened if that parallel went on, and it only led to death and suffering. and with tang shen literally sacrificing herself to save splinter, i feel as though splinter could believe he failed tang shen and miwa. so with splinter being splinter, he tried to teach leo to not fail in the ways splinter believes he did. the harshness and strictness, far more one on one time spent with leo on screen, hell, even telling leo he'll have to take splinter's job as both a mentor and father to his brothers when splinter passes? it's hard for me to not believe splinter is projecting onto leo. this is simply because splinter just doesn't want history repeating; he doesn't want another shredder created out of his son.
but, from what clips ive seen of season 5, it wasn't even necessary. leo and raph do get along while splinter isn't there to project, and that's even happened a bit in the space arc. (only major argument i remember between them in that arc is when they were on the corrupted planet.)
because leo and raph AREN'T splinter and shredder... they're LEO AND RAPH.
they're different people with different morals and motivations. but splinter didn't quite see that.
also, when the tang shen situation was happening, i feel like grandpa hamato was kinda pushed in between the conflict between splinter and shredder; unable to choose just one side to support, but getting pushed to the back either way. i think this parallels with donnie and mikey; they can't chose between leo and raph to support all the time, because they're their brothers. but they get pushed to the back and out of focus; and now also out of splinter's focus specially.
now i have seen those ending clips of season five, and i believe this can be seen as why splinter only hugged leo and karai.
-leo: he still saw himself in. but now, he could also see the success that he himself was unable to achieve.
-karai: his daughter, the one he thought he lost due to the conflict between him and shredder. she was one of the driving forces in the conflict, and came out still on splinter's side.
-raph: while splinter still loves raph dearly, just as i assume he still loves shredder dearly, the dark legacy of the shredder still taints his view of raph unintentionally.
-donnie and mikey: like his father, he loves them both dearly. but, like their grandfather, they ultimately got pushed to the side unintentionally. still loved greatly, just not the main priority.
now, do i think this is all canon? no, it's like 99% likely to not me. i was probably really reaching with this, and it could've just been completely unintentional by writers and just came about because of recycled conflicts. but it is now 6:34 am so i don't care.
thanks for reading lolzies.

To be fair CF is just as much about found family than VW
Hi anon! I'm gonna link the post I talked about the Golden Deer here for clarity's sake lol.
I think when discussing themes of found family in different three houses routes, it's important to talk about Byleth. In a game where the single, main variable between possible futures is Byleth's interference, it means the story has to be written in a particular way--I mentioned this before when talking about character supports and endings; each character needs to be able to have a romantic ending with Byleth, which affects how their supports are written. In the case of the Lord's, this means you're given tangible reasons why you should've chosen them.
I mean. Let's be real here. Claude has the highest survivability rate of any character in the base game. He can't die if you're completing Verdant Wind (for obvious reasons), or Blue Lions. He's heavily implied to live to see another day in Silver Snow, and you can spare him in Crimson Flower! Edelgard and Dimitri die without the professor's stabilizing influence--but Claude? What does he lose without the professor.
That's sort of how I determine subtler themes of each route in a way--by comparing what you get with and without Byleth.
So when I argue that Verdant Wind is the most about found family, I mean it thematically; the other routes don't have tangible less found family, but without Byleth members of the Golden Deer just blatantly disappear unrecruited post time skip in several routes!
Without Byleth, the option for found family is removed for Claude in a big way, I personally feel, and not just by full recruitment runs lol. Not completely, of course--even in Crimson Flower a recruited Lorenz laments having to face off against Claude and Hilda is willing to die in defense of him and the city--but enough that it was blatantly shocking to me that if you don't recruit Marianne, she does not appear at all post time skip, no exceptions.
In a narrative sense, perhaps slightly unshocking; but in a practical sense? This leaves Claude without a healer.
Claude can't hold onto all his Deer even if you don't recruit any of them in the Academy phase. Silver Snow, Azure Moon, Crimson Flower--Marianne will always be gone; consistent, non variable. Depending on the route other characters like Lorenz might disappear as well.
The themes of found family are prevalent in all the routes, but since each route is pretty much defined by the Lord who leads it, I feel as though their personal relationship with the found family is most defining, if that makes sense.
People stand by Edelgard, Dimitri, and even Rhea for better, or for worse. Even recruited, characters like Felix make it abundantly clear that switching sides doesn't change the immense emotional attachment they have to their original lord.
This just. Isn't true for Claude.
Without Byleth, he doesn't get to keep everyone together. Without Byleth Hilda is recruitable in two routes. The idea that you could ever do the same with Hubert or Dedue is blatantly laughable.
Byleth's presence is what enables Edelgard, Dimitri, and Rhea to remain the most of themselves, if that makes sense. Edelgard's war strategy in Crimson Flower is a lot less aggressive and scorched earth then it is in the other two routes because she's had the professor as an emotional rock. Similarly for Dimitri, he's able to recover because Byleth is there to keep him alive and safe. And then Rhea will blatantly die in the Verdant Wind route where she doesn't in Silver Snow. Byleth, in every sense of the word, keeps these three characters alive and well.
But without her? They still inspire loyalty and devotion--unquestionable, again, if no recruitment takes place. Dimitri, Edelgard, and Rhea can all face up against you as enemies with the full force of their houses/allies (save for, oddly, Annette).
Claude does not.
Claude's whole route is about learning to trust others in a way that allows them to trust him. The Deer are devoted to Claude in Verdant Wind in a way they just, textually aren't otherwise, and that's due to Byleth's influence, both as a Professor to these individual students, and to Claude.
When I say that Verdant Wind is the most found family thematically to me, I mean it at a very base level. Claude knows he doesn't have what Dimitri and Edelgard seem to take for granted. It seems almost effortless, in Verdant Wind, the loyalty and devotion he inspires in his friends despite how often you, as Byleth, are told that Claude appears to be an untrustworthy and sneaky individual.
But it's easy to see in routes where you don't chose him that without Byleth, that image mantains. Claude is an outsider. And maybe he doesn't need Byleth in the way the other lords do to survive or achieve his dream (after all, there's nothing saying he can't open diplomacy with his former classmates after he goes back to Almyra so long as he lives to do so), but just as Byleth is uniquely able to be a peer to the Golden Deer, so can Claude uniquely trust and gain the trust of his house in full.
It's not as dramatic as the other two houses, and I think it's the point. Edelgard and Dimitri have already built a solid foundation of devotion and loyalty. Ferdinand and Felix (your "rival" characters in those houses) are loyal without Byleth, even if Ferdinand claims it's to guide her or if Felix complains every step of the way. Lorenz isn't. In Verdant Wind, you sort of take it for granted that everyone will be there at the reunion if they survived the Academy phase. Of course they will--they promised, didn't they?
But outside Verdant Wind, it's clear to see that you as the player took it for granted. And that's why I think Verdant Wind is thematically the most found family. It's not because the other routes don't love each other as much or aren't as complex or there isn't devotion. It's because fundamentally Verdant Wind is about Claude, for the first time in his life, having a group of people he can rely on and who will rely on him without hesitation. It's about the formation of found family, and how Claude doesn't need it to achieve his dreams, but man, does it give him something to achieve those dreams for.

Hello!! I recently found your blog and 🥰 ive only gone through the kingdom masterlist so far but ive already turned into a blushing maiden whos giggling and twirling my hair
Anywho i was wondering how your kingdom ocs would be with a dragon darling maybe one that secretly lives amongst humans because while they do hoard a small amount of treasure what they love to hoard most is knowledge, anything from fairytales to academic papers to even outright blacksmithing
But feel free to change the request as you want i will love it regardless ❤️
(omg thank you so much!)
♡ How They React To A Secret Dragon Darling ♡
Tumblr media
♡ Theanna knows everything mystical that occurs within her kingdom so of course she would notice a dragon living amongst her maids. She's too curious to drive you off when you first arrive, to be honest she assumes you must be after the power under the garden but you don't even seem to go near it. Sure you sneak the books in the imperial archives to learn more but you do nothing with that power. It's really such a waste you've only decided to be a maid, a queen would grant you much more access to knowledge don't you think? Just accept the proposal, okay, she'll give you everything you want darling. ♡
Tumblr media
♡ She's an actual dragon hunter, she is obviously going to notice and she's actually a little bit pissed off when she first sees you blending in and she suspects your intentions are bad mostly because every dragon who has come close to the humans or tried to blend in so far has had bad intentions. She stops having any issues the moment you declare yourself a huge fan of the travel guides she writes. The praise does go to her head a bit, sure she receives praise constantly for the dragon slaying guides and being the chosen one but no one ever pays attention to the travel guides she writes. She's already decided you can be her permanent travel companion, she will not take no for an answer. ♡
Tumblr media
♡ Yeah everyone at the academy already knows you're a dragon they just pretend to not be aware of it. Pauline is the only one who doesn't know because her power is curses so she doesn't have actual real magic in order to sense that. When she approaches you, you obviously say yes to the fake dating scheme because her parents own the academy so being in the family gives you the opportunity to learn things that would be illegal to learn otherwise. They are shocked when she brings you home though because they are completely aware of what you are but they don't mention it since they're pretty sure she must already know everything about you. ♡
Tumblr media
♡ Abigail doesn't realize you're secretly a dragon, she just assumed you're an insanely strong scholar who just is very interested in the art of sword fighting and well she's spent her whole life perfecting it so there's no one better to ask about it. She's pretty upset when you declare you are moving on from the training grounds because you've learned all you needed to, luckily the Parley Duchess gets access all sorts of hidden knowledge so you can just marry her and learn new things instead, she won't accept any other answer. ♡
Tumblr media
♡ Veronia is confused why her mate would be hiding amongst the humans, there's literally nothing interesting about them, she knows way more than them and it's all knowledge about other dragons so surely her knowledge must be far more interesting than anything they can do for you. She can bring you any books you want but you are not allowed to wander off her territory, sorry dearest mate but she cannot allow you to mingle with those who are below you. At most she may allow you to interact with the merchant who passes through and brings her things. ♡
Tumblr media
♡ Ainsley has all the knowledge a dragon could ever want since she's constantly adding to that wealth of knowledge. She doesn't notice you're a dragon at first since she's just so focused on the whole love at first sight thing, it isn't until Theanna points it out that she's like "Oh that makes sense, well I don't really care about that stuff babygirl, you're mine anyways." She's also not going to allow you to learn from anyone else now, she has to bring you all your knowledge directly and she uses a collar to bind your powers and keep you bound to her tower so your pesky instincts don't disturb your love. ♡

8 and 12!
Thank you for responding!! 😭💖 I love your art btw!! You’re such a big inspiration!!
#8: After Act 3, what does their life look like? What are they talking about at the reunion party?
(This might come as a surprise but I haven’t actually played the epilogue yet 😭)
I’d like to think Tesni would go on a pilgrimage of sorts trying to reconnect with nature and her mentor’s Druidic teachings. After her personal quest, she becomes the chosen of Selûne, I think she’d try and reconnect with her Godess as well, after so many years apart. She also works with the council? Whoever’s in charge of Baldur’s Gate, after the whole mess with The Absolute, to help reconstruction efforts throughout the city.
And when that’s said and done she settles down, gets married to Astarion, and they live comfortably off of the significant amount of gold they found throughout their adventures. She researches cures for Astarion’s vampirism too (and for Karlach cuz I’m delusional and I refuse to accept that she dies or goes back to Avernus forever), I mean who better than a Druid to fix and otherwise permanent affliction lol 😌💅✨ Tesni and Astarion also have a daughter named Moon who is a sorcerer being trained in magic by Gale. 😜
Here’s a lil doodle of what her end game outfit looks like (it’s supposed to look like her mentor’s outfit but a little bit different) 🌝:

#12: Does your Tav have any tattoos or scars? Why?
// TRIGGER WARNING: I’m gonna talk a little bit about self-harm so if you struggle with self-harm I just want to warn you now before you read!! It’s not too serious but I want to make sure everyone stays comfortable!! //
Tesni has a variety of scars, a lot of them stem from her background as a Druid. Scars from animals, from when she was a kid running around in the woods, and one time she got shot in the shoulder by a magic arrow (I’m not gonna name names but we can all guess who missed mid battle 😒🦇) She also has panther spots, because I thought it would be cool, but also because her main wildshape animal is a panther.
Her other scars come from periods in her life where she felt hopeless or otherwise in bad straights. A little tidbit into her lore, when Tesni was young she had quite a few of her close family and friends pass away (in unfortunate ways). She’s always blamed herself for not being smart enough, brave enough, or strong enough to stop the circumstances leading up to their deaths (a part of why Tesni had a difficult relationship with her patron, Selûne. Tesni partly blames the gods, mainly Selûne, for not stepping in. Tesni’s mother was also a Selûnite, and when she died, Tesni’s inner conflict as well as her conflict with the Gods spiraled downwards from there).
Tesni spent a lot of her adolescence on the streets scrounging for food and money, many of those nights, she went cold or hungry. Eventually she became numb to her own comfort, and took jobs no one else would, leading into her being kidnapped by Mindflayers at the beginning of Bg3. That’s why Tesni wears sleeves on her arms, to hide her scars. Partly because she doesn’t want people to pity her, partly because she still feels their sting, and hiding them helps her move past those memories.
Eventually Tesni comes to the realization that beyond her numbness, she cares and feels deeply for the world and the people that live in it. After Act 1, she decides to start her healing journey, she becomes more honest with her companions and in turn they help her heal from her tumultuous past. Over time as Tesni heals, she mends her relationship with Selûne and eventually becomes her chosen.
Here’s a doodle of her without her sleeves:

Oof that was a lot of writing thank you for bearing with me lol 😪
And thank you again for responding!! I super appreciate it!! 🥹💖

It is explicitly stated that Rhaegar first thought himself to be the the prince that was promised, then Dany had a vision in which Rhaegar said his son Aegon was the prince that was promised and that a dragon had to have three heads and there must be one more. He had two children with Elia: Aegon and Rhaenys. The original dragon trio were Aegon, Rhaenys and Visenya. What's not clicking? Do these people even read? He thought he was the savior, then shifted to his son, then either 1) he wanted another sister for Aegon and went for Lyanna since Elia couldn't have more kids 2) thought the prince that was promised had to have both Stark and Targaryen ancestory (a song of ice and fire).
No, no they don’t read anon, because then how would they come up with ideas such as “there was no prophecy, it’s a fanon interpretation” and declare it with their whole chest? The same prophecy that is connected to one of the biggest plots, that is yet to be unveiled, and has had people in a frenzy for the past one and a half decades. A prophecy that was explicitly mentioned in affc
“Sam, we tremble on the cusp of half-remembered prophecies, of wonders and terrors that no man now living could hope to comprehend …”
Samwell IV, A Feast For Crows
“No one ever looked for a girl,” he said. “It was a prince that was promised, not a princess. Rhaegar, I thought … the smoke was from the fire that devoured Summerhall on the day of his birth, the salt from the tears shed for those who died. He shared my belief when he was young, but later he became persuaded that it was his own son who fulfilled the prophecy, for a comet had been seen above King’s Landing on the night Aegon was conceived, and Rhaegar was certain the bleeding star had to be a comet.”
Samwell V, A Feast For Crows
So what’s not clicking?
Can I also talk about how entitled and proud Rhaegar is to think the prophecy was about him and then definitely his son. Bro couldn’t fight to save his life but knew he was tptwp, and then went ahead and toppled a continent because of his ego. He ruined Elia and Lyanna’s lives, plunged the realm into a civil war, got his own house destroyed, KILLED HIS OWN CHILDREN and for what? To satisfy his own arrogance? For self-adulation and admiration? There is literally no greater cause here. How do you read a prophecy of all things, and think yup, this is 100% about me, I’m the chosen one, the special prince, who was talked about for centuries, the prophet, the one who’ll save lesser beings than myself from their doom, yup that’s me. Targ arrogance goes hard. Jfc.
There’s a lot of speculation about why Rhaeghar went after Lyanna. The whole “and his will be a song of ice and fire” does sort of fit as a reason Rhaegar would give himself for going after Lyanna, apart from the fact that he just found a gullible young girl at the tourney who had also done something that would bring her a lot of opprobrium (knight of the laughing tree) and saw his opportunity. Lyanna wanted a life of freedom, and Rhaegar promised it to her, and then took away everything from her, her family, her agency, and in the end her life, locked away in a tower. He did that because he could do that, and then give any reason for it because he’s the last heir to the Targaryen crown (at that time). But the other shoe did drop, there were consequences to his egregious actions, and the cocksure idiot hadn’t prepared for that.
Though as a reader, I would argue that the “ice” counterpart is not House Stark but rather the white walkers. The “ice” and “fire” analogues, for me, are the others and stannis and his red witch and the rhollor worshipers and, later, the targaryens with their dragons. I don’t think grrm (4:55) was referring to the starks as the ice because there are other northern houses as well, and would they be counted as the ice too? Anyway, it could be said that Rhaegar did either want another daughter (visenya) for the three heads of the dragon or had completely abandoned that idea by the time he met Lyanna, and decided that their son would be tptwp.
Either way, fuck rhaegar for all of eternity and then some.

Azriel’s POV
We all watched from the windows as Eris leaned down to kiss her lips, before winnowing away. I was shaking with pure anger, my siphons glowing, with the news of Y/N’s mate. Fists clenched, I watched as she stared briefly to where he had left her.
“He’ll kill her” I said, anger dripping from my words as I looked at Rhys.
“He cannot. He made a promise tone, as I did to him for her protection” Rhys said, as it became a deadly silence once again when she opened the door to the living room area. Looking around at everyone, Y/N scanned all of our reactions, focusing largely on Mor’s.
“I-I’m sorry, Mor” Y/N said, looking down at her feet.
“It’s not your fault. Mates are not chosen by us, they are decided by fate” Mor said, with a sigh, going over to hug Y/N, surprising us all. Her words were true, but I was just so angry I couldn’t bare to be in the room any longer. I turned around swiftly, going outside and flying away.
Anywhere would be better than being in the same room as the one I loved was mated to my enemy.
Y/N’s POV
After Azriel’s abrupt departure, everyone sort of stared around awkwardly.
“Well after tomorrow, we probably won’t see you for a while, if Beron has his way” Feyre said, as she brought me into a hug. I sighed, leaning into her side.
“I’d say let’s get drunk, but hangovers tomorrow wouldn’t be a smart idea” Rhys said.
“Who wants to tell Nesta?” Cassian brought up, and everyone shivered in fear or groaned.
“I probably should. And Elain…” I said, sighing. “Can someone come with me to make sure Nesta doesn’t kill me?”
“I’ll come” Feyre volunteered.
“I don’t know if having me there would anger her more or less, but I’ll come. I owe you” Cassian stated, looking over. I shook my head.
“You’ve become a brother to me, Cas. You owe me nothing” I said, walking over and giving him a hug. “All of you really” I said, looking at the larger group, who all had sad faces on.
“We know. You’re our family. Always” Rhysand said, and everyone else seemed to nod in agreement. I couldn’t help but glance at the door that Azriel had walked through.
“Why are you all here?” Nesta asked when we arrived. She was sitting and studying as usual, since she decided she’d be going to the meeting tomorrow. “Did we get more information?”
“Well, not exactly” Feyre said, looking to me.
“You know how much I love and appreciate you, Nes. You’ll always be my older sister. I’ll appreciate everything you’ve done for me” I said softly, nervously, looking at her before the floor.
“What happened?” Nesta said, in a low scary octave of her voice.
“I-I met my mate and will be leaving tomorrow after the meeting probably” I said, and there was silence. A deadly silence.
“No. You’re not leaving us. No. I forbid it” Nesta stated, standing up, as I looked at her. Feyre and Cassian moved closer to me, in a protective stance.
“She doesn’t have much of a choice, Nesta. Her mate’s father will demand her to go with them tomorrow” Feyre tried to explain.
“No. She’s not leaving. Rhysand is the most powerful lord, right? He can’t take her. Y/N isn’t leaving” Nesta said. If steam could come out of her ears, it would.
“If she does not go, there will be a deadly war before we even try to defeat Hybern” Feyre tried to reason.
“Who is her mate?” Nesta asked.
“Eris Vanserra, the heir to the High Lord of Autumn, Beron” Cassian stated, sneering. I looked over to him, and he just rolled his eyes.
“Eris?! You’re handing her over to the guy who left Mor for dead? No. My sister will not be handed over to those monsters like a piece of meat on a platter” Nesta said.
“He was just here and made a promise that she will be protected” Feyre said, although it felt like she was forcing herself to convince herself as well.
“No. She’s not going” Nesta said. “You’re not going” She said, looking straight at me.
“It’s not your decision Nesta” I stated shocking her, as well as everyone else. “He is my mate and he’ll be my husband. I love him, and he has promised with a bind to Rhys that I will be protected. If I do not leave willingly tomorrow, there will be two wars, which we will not win. We need Beron’s support, and that definitely will not happen if I do not go with them tomorrow if they demand it”
Nesta stared at me, coldly. She couldn’t argue my points, but as everyone else, no one else was happy about this. Her eyes felt like they were burning through my soul.
“You’re leaving me” Nesta said, a few moments later, a tear streaking down her cheeks.
I walked slowly to her, wrapping my arms around her. Cassian watched cautiously, prepared to attack, as tears fell down my face.
“Yes, but you have Elain, Feyre, and everyone else. You will not be alone. I realize that I will be leaving all of you for a bunch of strangers and be forced into hiding in the shadows of a political game I hope to survive. We were forced to leave the mortal life behind, and now I’m forced to leave my family behind to be utterly alone. I found my mate and this should be the happiest time of my life, and yet it feels like a death sentence. But we are Archerons, we will survive this too” I admitted, holding her tighter as she squeezed me back.
“It’s going to be okay” Feyre said, coming closer and wrapping her arms around me as well. Surprisingly Nesta didn’t shake her off. “As you said, you love Eris and from what I saw, he loves you too. You’ll have him there, and worst case scenario, Rhys and I will find a way to get you back” Feyre reminded me, and I sighed.
“Can we just, sleep together like when we were little? I-I’ll have to be strong tomorrow, but tonight, I just want..” I said, trailing off as I sniffled.
“Of course. We’ll extend the bed and be all together” Feyre said, before looking at Cassian. “I’ll tell Rhys. You can go. We’ll see you tomorrow”
After telling Elain, which caused her to cry of course, she joined us in the bed, all of us huddled together again.
The next day wasn’t an easy one.
My dress for the meeting looked very similar to a wedding dress, which I guess was part of the point. I had to alter a dress Mor bought me last night when she heard the news - one that she knew would appeal to Beron to reflect my innocence. Mor had spent all morning going over with me what she knew about Beron and how I was expected to act if we wanted to win Beron over.
“You look beautiful” Feyre said, as we all waited to be taken to the townhouse before going to the meeting. Elaine was to stay at home, but Nesta, Feyre and I were dressed up.
Compared to them, I looked so innocent…naive.
“I look like a virgin bride sacrifice” I said, trying to lighten the energy, shuffling my dress around. It was a pure white with embellishments, cap shoulder sleeves, and pearls around the tight bodice.
“Pretty sure that was the point” Nesta stated, and I smiled softly at her, shaking my head lightly.
Rhys and Cassian brought us to the town house, and there I saw the rest of the inner circle.
“Definitely a virgin bride” I muttered, looking at Mor and Amren’s dresses.
“That was the point” Rhys said, and the group laughed awkwardly, well besides Azriel who just stayed away in the corner. I could feel his glare from across the room.
As all of our masks were put on, we headed to the meeting location. The more people we met, the more antsy I got. The anticipation of seeing Eris was getting overwhelming, as well as the unknown of how his father would get the news.
I was barely paying attention to the conversation, when I heard Feyre say my name.
“They threw her in the Cauldron, along with Y/N and my other sister Elain. After the High Priestess Ianthe and Tamlin sold out Prythian and my family to them” Feyre stated, as everyone’s gaze shifted from her and Nesta to me.
One of the lords, I could feel his stare over my body, and when I met his eyes, there was a twinkle. I felt detached from the conversation, uncomfortable with everyone’s stares, and looked down away from their gazes.
“Absolutely beautiful. Radiant. A Star of the Night Court” Helion said, when he walked over to me. I couldn’t help the blush that fell upon my cheeks, curtseying properly, before moving myself closer to Feyre and Nesta’s side. Nesta all but glared harsher at Helion for his wandering eyes on me.
It took a long amount of time before I heard that Autumn was arriving. I pressed my nails into the heel of my palm to calm my nerves, as my face was still painted in a doe-like fashion. I did my best to not look extra nervous, but I could feel some of the glances from the inner circle watching my reaction. I looked over to Mor, as she would be also affected by their arrival. She looked back at me, and I took a deep breath.
Everyone stared at them as they walked in, and I took in all of their appearances. Beron seemed to pay no attention to anyone but the High Lords, but his sons all glanced over with sneers…except Eris.
It was like time stopped again when I locked eyes with Eris. He stared back at me, stiffening abruptly, and I knew we had a performance to show.
“Enough” Eris said to his brothers, halting their antics, before he walked over to where I was - surprising everyone in the room.
I held my breath, as I looked down, avoiding eye contact with Eris, who was walking over close to me. Now, Beron was paying attention to his son, as well as everyone else I could see out of the corner of my eye.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Rhysand stated, as him, Cassian and Azriel came over as a protective barrier, standing in front of me to block his path.
“I want to introduce myself to my beautiful mate, Rhysand. Do you have a problem with that?” Eris stated, with a bit of a growl, before looking at me. Beron had raised an eyebrow, crossing him arms with a smirk watching the scene unfold, undoubtedly planning something. I remained with my eyes downwards, shifting awkwardly in place.
“Congratulations, my son! Rhysand, who is this beauty you bring with you?” Beron asked, walking over to us. The boys didn’t move an inch. “Let us meet my son’s mate” Beron added, and reluctantly, Rhysand move forward, gesturing for the Illyrians to move so I could meet them.
I stood fairly awkwardly, keeping my gaze downward, as Mor had instructed me it was best to not look in their eyes as a sign of respect. Eris crossed the final few steps towards me, taking my gloved hand in his and giving it a kiss.
“This is one of my sisters, Y/N Archeron” Feyre introduced, as I gave a polite curtsy, still not looking into their eyes.
“Well you certainly look like a dream. Stunningly beautiful. Good job son. You seem seemingly polite as well, though you don’t know with Night Court” Beron said, analyzing me as well as making any digs he could to the Night Court. I kept my posture and didn’t change as I felt the other members stiffen. I could feel his gaze analyzing me like an animal on display. “You’ll come sit with us. We’ll let the two mates get to know each other” Beron stated, as more of an order while the other members of the inner began to move closer to me, when Rhysand put his hand up to stop the other members.
“Mates are a sacred bond” Rhysand replied, all but stating that they would let me sit with Autumn. Beron smirked widely, gesturing me over, as Eris offered his elbow, and I placed my hand gently on his bicep and let him lead me to where Autumn had their seats arranged. Due to the surprise of it all, there wasn’t a seat sorted for me, so Eris situated me on his lap, placing me on one of his spread thighs with my legs both on the inside of his spread thighs. I felt like a doll for show, as he placed his arm around my back, holding me there. Beron grinned almost wickedly at the image of us. His wife gave me a sympathetic look.
I’m sorry for this, he said in the bond.
Let the games begin, I replied, glancing over at Night Court who were all glaring angrily at Beron.
As the meeting started, I tried not to show how uncomfortable I was, until Tamlin arrived. I played into the “naive girl” character, shock clear on my face before leaning back into Eris’ chest. Beron raised an eyebrow seeing my expression, before smirking widely, looking directly at his son who sported a similar smirk. Eris wrapped his arm visibly tighter around me, rubbing his hand down my arm in a soothing manner.
“I’m sorry, this isn’t appropriate of me. I just - he, he and his men, they took us in the middle of the night from our homes, and gave us to Hybern. They- they threw us in the cauldron, and I was unconscious for days” I explained shakily in a soft whisper, just loud enough for only Eris and Beron could hear. Eris’ fists clenched.
“Don’t worry, little mate. I’ll protect you” Eris said, with a smirk on his face, before he glanced over to his father, who had indeed heard what I had said. Beron raised an eyebrow and  smirked again approvingly, although I did not see it.
You’re playing the part so well. Father loves it, Eris complimented through the bond, as he looked visibly pleased with my actions.
I am actually quite scared of Tamlin. What I just said is true, I said.
I know, and I promised to protect you and I will, Eris reminded.
“We were not expecting you, Tamlin. Fetch the High Lord a chair” Thesan stated, as Tamlin’s eyes wandered over the gaze of the Night Court.
“I will admit, Tamlin, that I am surprised to see you here. Rumor claims your allegiance now lies elsewhere” Beron stated, not bringing Tamlin’s gaze off from where it was on Feyre, until Tamlin’s chair had been placed next to Beron’s sons and Helion’s entourage. Tamlin had yet to notice me, and even without the act I was putting on, I was relieved.
“Let’s get on with it, then” Helion stated, waving a hand.
As everything began discussing, I drifted out of conversation, looking upwards at Eris’ face, in admiration. I could feel other people’s glances, especially Beron’s, but this was part of the act. Eris’ eyes shifted down to me, as I shifted my look away, faking embarrassment at getting caught. Playing his part, he gave a smirk before taking a finger, and tracing the bottom of my jaw, tilting it upwards so I could meet his eyes.
“Hello, little mate” He whispered, and both of us could feel the stares of Beron.
He’s enjoying this, Eris said.
That’s good, right? I asked.
I think so, Eris replied, before we both felt the room tense more, and we turned our attention to  everyone’s discussion.
“Who knew that a cock could be so persuasive?” Beron stated.
“Father” Eris warned, but Beron took that as a warning because of his mate’s innocence. He glanced at me, seeing my shocked and flushed face, putting a hand on my shoulder before leaning down to talk softly to me. Eris looked at Beron’s hand on my shoulder, trying not to show his confusion.
“Sorry for my crudeness. A lady shouldn’t hear those things, although I would be surprised if you didn’t hear similar things in the Night Court” Beron said, staring at me, almost creepily, although I didn’t meet his eyes. I smiled softly in appreciation, and nodded.
“Thank you” I replied, in as meek in voice as I could muster.
As tensions rose between Tamlin and Rhysand, I felt as much comfort as I could respectfully get from Eris. The hand that was still on my shoulder from Beron hadn’t been removed, surprisingly, and with his thumb placed on my back, away from the view of everyone including Eris, Beron rubbed almost unnoticeable circles with his thumb. I didn’t tense, in fear of what Beron would do in retaliation, but this is better than the alternative - right?
“Hybern turned my sisters into Fae - after your bitch of a priestess sold them out!” Feyre said. I stiffened, gulping loudly as I felt both Beron’s and Eris’s hands tighten almost protectively on me.
“Perhaps Ianthe’s mind was already in Rhysand’s thrall. And a tragedy to remain young and beautiful! You’re a good actress - I’m sure the trait runs in the family” Tamlin said, looking at Nesta, before Eris growled, bringing Tamlin’s attention to me. I started shaking, as I felt his eyes on me, turning my face to hide in Eris’ chest.
“You watch what you assume about my mate” Eris stated, flames all but burning in my eyes. Tamlin looked surprised, almost regrettably looking at me, which didn’t go unnoticed by Beron or Eris.
“If you want someone to blame for all of this, perhaps you should first look in the mirror” Nesta let out a low laugh, shifting attention back to Night Court. Tamlin snarled.
“Watch it” Cassian snarled.
“Seems like other preferences run in the Archeron family, too” Tamlin stated, before realizing what that also implied about me and looked over, wide eyes and regret again, as he caught Eris’ standing form, causing me to stand up as well, with his hands encircling my body.
“You’re on thin ice, Tamlin. You insult my son’s mate again…” Beron said, as everyone seemed to notice the hand of Beron’s that remained on my shoulder.
“My apologies, Y/N” Tamlin reluctantly said, before turning his attention back to Feyre.
Beron won’t stand for any act of public rudeness to his family, only his family. I guess we’ve succeeded, Eris said through our bond, as we resumed our seated positions.
I wasn’t paying much attention until Beron mentioned something about Lucien.
“Helping to guard our city” Feyre had replied, a question no doubt about the whereabouts of Lucien. While it wasn’t a lie, we knew the truth.
Eris, who I realized was also playing another game, snorted and stared at my other sister Nesta.
“I see you didn’t bring the final sister as well. I’m not the only Vanserra with an Archeron as their mate” Eris stated coldly.
“You still certainly like to hear yourself talk, Eris. Good to know some things don’t change over the centuries” Mor stated, and although I looked nervously between the two, Eris’ mouth curled into a smile.
“Good to know that after five hundred years, you still dress like a slut” Eris replied, leaning over. Azriel got up and walked over quickly, with just enough time for Eris to lift me out of the way. I shrieked, before I was pulled in between Beron’s legs now, who put his arms around me protectively, while Eris was tackled backward, and a blue wall surrounded them. Beron’s arms wrapped around me, holding me close and turning me away so I couldn’t see the fight. He stroked my hair, watching his son getting strangled but not intervening.
What I didn’t know, was that comment had tipped over Azriel’s scale of tolerance - between Mor’s past and myself becoming Eris’ mate, his anger couldn’t be controlled.
“Enough” Rhys ordered. “Enough Azriel”
“Call off your overgrown bat” Beron ordered Rhys, motioning to me in his arms, who Rhys looked at. I looked over and saw the brutality, my heart aching. I could feel through the bond Eris’ pain, and I pulled to go over to help him, but Beron held me tightly against him.
“Azriel stop!” I shouted, unable to hold back my voice, and Azriel stopped surprisingly. Everyone looked surprised, at me who looked worried for her mate, who managed to get the shadow singer to stop fighting. Beron looked at me curiously, and I made sure my eye contact was on Eris, not Azriel.
“Come Azriel” Feyre said, interrupting the silence, to bring Azriel back to them.
Azriel had whispered something in Eris’ ear that made him grow pale, and once the shield had dropped, I tried to rush over to Eris’ side, but Beron held me back tightly, while he shot flames at Azriel. However, these were bounced off by a barrier Feyre produced.
Feyre glared at Beron, looking like she wanted to say something, but stopped herself as she looked at me and took Azriel’s hand and took him away. I couldn’t help but rush to Eris’ side, ignoring my sister and Azriel completely, as I took Eris’ face in my hands.
“Are you okay?” I asked, softly, as I reached out my hand and helped him up as gently as I could. I could feel the stares of everyone, as I looked over his bruises with sad eyes, as we went back to his chair, seating as before. I cusped my hand lovingly on his face, unable to reel in the emotions of what just happened.
“He only stopped because my sister is your mate, but if anyone else insulted my friend” Feyre threatened, and Eris looked down at me, before looking over at Night Court.
“Apologies, Morrigan” Eris stated, surprising not just myself but everyone including Beron, who had distaste all over his face. Beron glanced at the surprise on my face, but also saw the approval on his wife’s.
After that, I couldn’t pay attention to the meeting, rather I looked at the bruises that were appearing on Eris’ skin.
Do you want me to heal them now? The Cauldron gave me powers to heal, I told Eris, and I could see his eyes dart over to me, from where he was trying to focus on the meeting conversation.
No. We need to keep that information to ourselves for now. We cannot tell Beron or let anyone else know. He will abuse your powers. Does Night Court know? Eris asked, and I settled into his chest, unable to do anything.
Yes. I healed Cassian and Azriel when their wings were almost destroyed by Hybern’s guards, I explained, showing him the memory of my healing.
We’ll discuss this later, my little flame. Thank you for sharing that, he said, before I could feel the conversation end as he focused on the meeting.

I have too many DinLuke ideas and I need opinions other than my own. What should I focus on first? I'm crippled by decision making. (I'll put more detailed descriptions below the cut if you care about that)
Feel free to comment any other opinions, I am struggling with the indecision. And if anyone wants to scream with me about any of these ideas I would welcome it with open arms :)
Meet Pre ANH AU: Din and Luke meet while Din is on a job on Tatooine and Luke inserts himself into Din's job (because he's bored) Din gets injured and has to spend time recovering under Luke's care and they fall for each other. Din has to leave once he recovers and promises to come back for Luke as soon as possible but, unbeknownst to both of them, Luke is pregnant.
Fantasy AU: Sort of a King Arthur vibe with Din finding the Darksaber and needing to reclaim the ancient kingdom of Mandalore. Din doesn't desire the throne, simply wanting to take care of Grogu (a boy he saved from a band of thieves) but he can't avoid his destiny. Luke is a Druid who wants to teach Grogu, who has Druid abilities, how to use magic and ends up assisting Din on his quest. The usual suspects also show up and help along the way.
Post S2 canon divergence: This is just my take on a slow burn gffa dinluke with a lot of the usual tropes. Mostly just "the wacky adventures of The Jedi and The Mandalorian: acquire children" because I need more of that in my life.
Greek Mythology AU: Luke is the demigod son of Anakin, the god of the heavens. He grew up to be a renowned hero, as many demigods do, and was sent on many quests. His newest quest sends him to the underworld to deliver a gift to the god of the dead. Little does he know, a vengeful god and the king who sent him on his quest have set him up. When Luke gets to underworld he finds out that he was meant to be the gift. Now he has to deal with Din, the god of the dead, who is outraged by Luke's arrival.
Apocalypse AU: The world has been taken over by a sickness that horrifically mutates people, animals, and even plants into killing machines. Din is just another survivor trying to make it through another day but finds his priorities change when he meets Grogu. Not long after taking in the child, Din realizes that the young boy has the ability to influence the creatures that have taken over the world. When people come after Grogu for his abilities Din has to put his trust into a mysterious man, Luke, to keep his son safe.
Medieval fantasy AU: The new Duke of Mandalore, Din Djarin, comes to Coruscant, the capital of the United Republic of Kingdoms, to sign treaties and make alliances. Many people expect Din to marry to strengthen his position so all eyes are on him, much to his discomfort. Meanwhile the Skywalker family's position is threatened by old enemies, leaving them vulnerable to attack. To solve both their problems Luke and Din get married, but now they have to convince everyone that this is a love match and not a marriage of convenience.
Harry Potter AU: This was mostly inspired by a comedy bit pointing out that Harry Potter was just Star Wars but with shitty lightsabers. The story would take place during the tri-wizard tournament and follow a similar storyline to the original. However, this has a focus on the romance between Din and Luke (obviously), the champion from Mandalore (Durmstrang) and the chosen one respectively. (Also I can make Luke trans just to stick it to JKR)
Spy X Family AU: Luke is a spy sent to look after Grogu who is an asset to the republic. Din found Grogu first on a job and is informed of Grogu’s importance by the mandos (mercenary guild). Republic wants Grogu to become a politician that can unite the two factions (Republic and Imperials). Mandos want Grogu to be knowledgeable of Mandalorians and be sympathetic to their causes. Both want Grogu to go to this elite school (has family requirements) that lead to Din and Luke making a fake family with Grogu to further the goals of their respective sides.

whops im a little late sorry but here i (dove, s/h, certified hag) am and more importantly, here's ko lijae, your local fuckin weirdo. surprise surprise though, she's not just a pill popping drunk, she's also impulsive to a fault, an adrenaline junkie with a death wish, and an obsessive nightmare. she's giving oracle at delphi, or she would be if you romanticized it, but it's kind of hard to romanticize someone who very clearly does not have their life even close to together and is letting that show in a way that distinctly bucks social norms. but hey, who has time for social norms when you're touched by the gods, amirite? i'm more than thrilled to be here, haven't written in a hot minute so be gentle, but her pages are here: profile / bio / connections and there's a little bit more under the cut, msg for discord!
i'm not sure what to put that isn't already on the pages so here's a little mindless rambling for you in case something resonates.
ko lijae has premonitions, visions, etc.
her family is historically shamanic and has been for centuries, passed down from woman to woman as is oft the case.
now, granted, they're lowkey scammers so at least in very recent memory "real" visions and so forth are not a thing.
not to mention traditionally in muism shamans are more focused on connection to the spirit world/those who have passed so she's not exactly on brand religiously....
so needless to say the thought process in the ko household was 'yikes'.
and if it had been truly just an expression of mental health concerns she'd have been fucked because if there's one thing the ko family does not believe in its talk therapy or mood stabilizers etc.
as a kid she found a certain idea of solace in the idea that she was probably just experiencing sinbyeong or 'shamanic sickness' (recognized as a culture bound syndrome in the DMCA) that many soon-to-be shamans go through before they are fully initiated, often that are accompanied by reported auditory and visual hallucinations.
at this point in her life she's not sure she buys into the shaman thing fully, she's come to acknowledge her grandmother as a fake, but she also grapples with the idea that there's definitely something going on with her and it's certainly not purely based on mental unrest (though she's more than happy to admit there's a deal of that going on at this point) so a part of her at least wants to attribute it to something somewhat explainable, and figures it must have some kind of genetic component that could be related to how her family ended up shamans in the first place.
in the evolutionary game of fight or flight lijae has chosen a resounding: both. she'll fight you and she'll run from herself.
a lot of that running is done via chemicals of whatever type she can get her hands on, resulting in a chain smoking habit and alcoholism.
she has an exceptionally devil may care attitude, sharp tongue (mostly at her own expense) and a deep and feral loyalty to the few people who stick by her.
honestly she gives feral cat energy, like she might gnaw her paw off if she got caught in a trap and god help you if you corner her, but if you hang around patiently enough maybe eventually she'll come around. but she's got fleas and half an ear is missing and there's scars all around her muzzle so is it worth the time? maybe not.
anyway if you've got any sort of ideas about how this weirdo might be able to round out a plot for you either with or without the inclusion of her '''''gifts''''' i'm all ears!

hello, i'm really sorry for asking this because you must get this a lot, but i'm still a bit confused about the idea of being aplatonic? to me it sounds less like an identity like aromanticism and more like... i don't want to say "an issue" because that's rude, but something that maybe shouldn't be happening? obviously you can be happy just with yourself, not everyone is really extroverted, but humans still need to interact with other humans to be like, mentally healthy. (that's been proven in studies). at best it sort of sounds like a neutral character trait, not necessarily an identity.
(i am asking this in good faith and i really want to understand- i'm aro myself, and i'm sure your experiences are real, i don't want to gatekeep or anything, i'm just genuinely confused & want to understand!)
you're fine, don't worry! this is actually the first ask i've ever received here. and i'm sorry if you sent this a while ago; i use tumblr on my phone's web browser and have to manually check for asks.
i think the biggest gaps in our respective understandings of “aplatonic”, just based on your message, are:
0. some aplatonic people have friends, or want friends, and use the term because they don't feel platonic attraction and/or they struggle to form friendships. most modern definitions of aplatonic will point to those two things, after all! a lot of these friending apls have found aplatonic terms useful for explaining their complicated feelings about platonic relationships, and helpful for navigating their friendships. this only applies to some aplatonic people, and it's often used as our only defense, so i'll focus on other things here, but i would be leaving out a lot of apls – maybe even the majority – if i didn't at least mention this.
1. friendship is not the only way of interacting with, and connecting with, other humans. i'm on the aro and ace spectrums, but i have a long-term partner i live with, and family members and coworkers who i interact with. lots of nonfriending aplatonic people will still seek out social interaction, often in groups that talk about topics they're interested in. one of the reasons i use the word “aplatonic”, and post here at all, is to push against the idea of friendship as a default human connection, or something that happens automatically when you're around someone enough.
2. even if someone is very isolated, and doesn't want any sustained human connection at all...i think that's fine, and it has historical precedent. hermits, anchorites, stylites, partially-eremetic monks, and all kinds of other recluses...through much of our recorded history, for a variety of reasons, some people have lived alone. many of these people lived in a much more complete solitude than nonfriending apls today – and even then, few of them managed to have absolutely no social interaction. some would have visitors, or people who brought them meals, or shopkeepers they met when they went into town for supplies. something happening frequently in the past doesn't mean it's good, but in this case it does suggest there's a kind of natural tendency towards it in some humans.
3. i don't think we should put too much weight on what psychology and the social sciences say is “normal”, anyway. there's a huge replication crisis in scientific research, especially in those fields. there are also studies showing people in romantic relationships are, generally, happier...and that obviously isn't true for a lot of aros! there are nearly always outliers in studies like that, even in the most well-done and rigorous ones. i completely believe social isolation is harmful for most humans, but the keyword here is most. and the kind of studies you describe usually focus on involuntary solitude; chosen solitude is much different. most apls aren't very isolated at all, so this point might not be as important...but if there's an aplatonic hermit somewhere in the woods who hasn't talked to another person in years, i support them.
4. there is “something wrong” with a lot of us, and that's fine. the term “aplatonic” was coined in 2012 by an alloromantic ace who theorized his experiences were caused by parental abuse, so that sort of thing has been woven into aplatonicism since day one. some people attribute their aromanticism to neurodivergence and/or trauma, too; for many aroapls, both of those identities will be tied up in it. i'm traumatized, and i'm schizoid, and both of these things interact with my aplatonicism. someone's self-concept, and their words for themself, can very often be tied up in their unusual experiences and their suffering. i don't think that makes any identity illegitimate.
if i've misunderstood any part of your ask, i'm sorry, and i'd be happy to adjust my answer. i'm also leaving out a lot of details and caveats to stop this post from being too long – and with ask length limits, i'm sure you had to do that much more than me. i agree with you that aplatonicism seems a markedly different thing to aromanticism and asexuality, and fits less comfortably into an “orientation” framework, but i wasn't sure what you meant by “neutral character trait” vs “identity” here and didn't want to assume. if you have any questions, need any clarifications, or want to elaborate on what you've already said, feel free to send a followup and i'll answer when i can. (i also welcome asks from anyone else, especially other apls; i'm only one person, with weird experiences, and i don't speak for the community.)

3, 5, 11, and 13 for the old man. (5 for the bastard old man if you're feeling up to it)
Ask Game
Gaius
3.Are they an outsider? Do they feel like one?
At this point in his life, Gaius is sort of over this--but specifically in regards to his life as commander and a soldier of Iron Legion, yes, he's very much an outsider, and even now that he is not commander and he is more active as a Centurion again.
During IBS (and after, when he ran for Imperator of Iron) it became increasingly notable for him that he was no longer a member of what he'd devoted a lot of his life to--and also that he wasn't sure he wanted to be a part of that. He's gone to great lengths to remedy some of the problems--reducing his time away, being more active as a Centurion. Opening Horn Gladium Outreach.
All of that aside, though, he's still regarded as something removed from the rest. He's well-regarded, yes, but he's still different.
5. How do they feel about their family? Chosen and/or biological?
Gaius has a complex relationship to his family, perhaps largely due to the natural happenings of charr family groups, but then also the unique circumstances he's experienced. It's pretty well known that he's sired a lot of cubs, but he doesn't actively go out of his way to be involved with most of them--at the same time, he does keep up with most of them, and he's generally proud of all of them. With his turn for becoming more (knowingly) paternal, he's found that he actually greatly enjoys parenthood. He loves his siblings Lucasta and Silas. Most of his conflict comes from his sire, and the siblings or cubs who are likewise very, erm, antagonistic. Oryen is the most prominent example, of course, but he simply doesn't know how to engage the issue. It's not that he can't kill his sire, but he struggles coming to terms with the desire to do so-- it's a dislike so intense, that often he just acknowledge any of his thoughts about him.
Until Oryen's in his face again.
11. Obligation or initiative, why do they do what they do? Is there something/someone specific that motivates them? (bonus: has their motivation changed over the years?)
Obligation and initiative are equally strong motivations for Gaius. For a long time, it was internal motivation that made him strive to work and improve and lead and be strong. By the time LWS4 comes and moves through IBS and into EoD, it's much more obligation.
Gaius hits a point of disdain towards what it means to be a legion charr that he doesn't quite recover from as much as he finds new meaning and cause to keep doing what he does: he wants those who come after him to enjoy a more bountiful and opportunistic life. He wants the Legions to experience what they can be outside of war.
It'd be an understatement of the century to say this is different from what it was before--his entire life prior to Personal Story was spent trying to be the Iron guy.
When his outlook of obligation to the charr returns to initiative and a desire to make things better, it's also a turn back from his low point of "nobody else cares enough, it's pointless" into "we have to improve, so I'm going to take those steps to try."
13. Is there anyone they'd like to be closer to than they are?
I noted before that Gaius adores his siblings Lucasta and Silas, and I think above all, they're who he wants to be closest to. He struggles with connecting with them for so many reasons: age, traumas, general neurodivergent tendencies. Lucasta in particular is someone he's tried to support a lot, and he feels he's failed in a lot of ways, but he hopes just being there helps when he can't do anything else.
Oryen
5. How do they feel about their family? Chosen and/or biological?
Like his beloved son, Oryen has a complex view of his family, and has no chosen family. In his specific case, his cubs--his brood, per se-- are an extension of him. They're all his, and their deeds are a reflection of him. This also extends to his grandcubs. He views Gaius and Lucasta and Silas and any others who've left his direct purview as "wayward" but within arm's reach. He allows them their independence, because that's the point of his experiment: what will they do now? He's overall intrigued by it all, even if by what he lets on, he's unimpressed at the best of times and actively disappointed at worst.
But they're his, no matter what.

The Voltron Rant - Or My Issues with the Portrayal of Lance
Voltron.
I jokingly refer to this as my trauma. Because watching Voltron and being in the fandom as it self-destructed was sort of traumatic. Anyhoots, I wanna talk about one character: Lance.
Voltron was a show that was diverse and about found family which is my type of shit. Not to be obnoxious, but as a Latina I tend to look for latine characters in media especially when I was teenager.
Lance was one of my favorite characters. Not just because he was Latino-coded and Cuban according to the paladin handbook but because he was relatable. He was a funny guy who talks himself out of trouble and struggled with his insecurities. Once again my type of shit. Him being latino-coded was like the icing on cake for me.
And then the show just kept going.
As the show declined in narrative quality, I felt as if the portrayal of Lance declined in an almost detrimentally stereotypical way.
For instance, Lance referred to himself as a player or a lover boy. But, in the first few seasons, it was suggested that he wasn't really. For me, I thought this was a push against the Latin Lover Stereotype.
For those who are unfamiliar, this stereotype was popularized in early Hollywood with Latino/Spanish actors and excotized them. It led to the stereotype of Latin men being passionate and romantic and great lovers. It's not necessarily bad but it does tend to lead to fetishizing of Latino men. It reduces their characters to be based on pure physicality and ignores any other part of their character.
So imagine my reaction to the showrunners leaning into this exact stereotype as the show progressed from the other characters calling him "lover boy lance" to the paladin show where he does this whole sexually powered ariel dance routine. It was weird for me but it wasn't necessarily painful or damaging. But I still think it's worth pointing out as Lance's later character in season 8 is revolved around his relationship with Allura.
Moving on, the slap to the face for me is Lance's epilogue.
Lance is a farmer.
The only Latino character on this show becomes a farmer.
If that is not upsetting to you let me unpack that.
First off, I'm not saying farming is a bad thing. I come from a family of farmers and ranchers and field pickers. It's a position that's commonly associated with Latine and mostly Mexican immigrants in the US.
However, Lance made no verbal declarations that he wanted to be a farmer. That he missed farm life. All we know about his experience is that he knows how to milk a cow.
What we do know, is that Lance wanted to be a pilot. He loves being a pilot. He was honored to be chosen by the blue lion. He was heartbroken when she shut him out. Lance wanted to be a top pilot. He wanted to be the team's sharpshooter. In a way, he wanted to be a defender of the universe.
So I get, him turning away from fighting/being a soldier after the Galra are defeated and Allura dies. I don't understand him becoming a farmer. There was no set up that he loved farming like Hunk loved cooking.
It felt to me, like the showrunners said Latino + farmer sounds good!! There was no consideration for the Latine children/teenagers watching this show and trying to find their representation.
Further-fucking-more, it suggests that Lance's goals and motivations were tied solely to Allura. Which flashback to the earlier section is just reinstating the latino lover stereotype. That there is nothing more to him than his sexuality.
I hope this doesn’t come off vengeful and hateful, it wasn’t my intent. Voltron maligned a lot of people hoping to see representation. This is how they upset me and why it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Why even voltron fanfiction is hard for me to swallow. I don’t see anyone talking about this flaw in the show so I wanted to put my piece out there.

an omegaverse idea inspired by the aristocats: in paris in the early 1900s, omegas have next to no rights, and so when his alpha unexpectedly dies, wealthy omega tony and his three kids are sent to live with edwin jarvis, the alpha left in charge of his late parents' estate. jarvis is as decent as an alpha can be, encouraging the kids, peter, harley, and morgan, in their chosen pursuits and allowing (though both tony and jarvis hate that term) tony to continue inventing new products for stark industries, and tony is as happy as an omega can be (happier, at least, than he had been with his alpha, who had wanted him to be the perfect society omega).
jarvis has a second ward in beta ezekiel stane, the son of howard stark's also deceased partner, obadiah. stane is the sort of beta who fancies himself an alpha in all but name, and when he overhears that jarvis, who is getting on in years, has found a loophole in the law to leave the entire stark fortune to tony instead of giving it to ezekiel for him to use to take care of tony and the children (read: gamble it away the same way ezekiel gambled his own fortune), he's furious. so what does any beta in desperate need and desire of a fortune belonging to someone else do? he plans to get rid of tony and the kids.
he drugs the family's meals one night and kidnaps the four starks, intending on killing them far enough away from town that it's unlikely the bodies, if ever found, will be recognized as the missing starks. except - he loses his nerve halfway through the drive. he's grown up pampered, and the thought of actually getting his hands dirty disgusts him. so, figuring that tony is a sheltered, unmated omega who will either have no idea how to get back to paris or be unable to find anyone willing to help him and not just mate him, he abandons the starks on the side of the road and returns to paris to feign surprise when jarvis wakes up the next morning to find tony and the children gone.
as for tony, he wakes the next morning in an unfamiliar setting with a frog perched on top of his head. he yells loud enough to startle the kids awake (and scare the frog off of his head), and then they sit down to try to figure out what happened to them. harley remembers seeing ezekiel when they were being carried out of the mansion, but tony, despite knowing that ezekiel has been jealous of their fortune, finds it impossible to believe that he, of all people, would have been capable of this plot.
ezekiel had been right in thinking that tony would need to be concerned about alphas taking advantage of him, and he knows that, but he's far smarter than ezekiel gave him credit for, and he's more than capable of figuring out a route back. while they're trying to figure out how to return to paris, drifter and alpha steve rogers stumbles upon them. tony tells the children to hide and not to watch if anything should happen to him, but steve is both goodhearted and instantly smitten with the omega. as soon as he finds out that tony's in trouble, he offers his help, and that doesn't change even after he finds out that tony has three kids along for the ride.
tony's smart. he knows that he's asking for trouble if he turns steve down. and steve is... nice. he makes tony blush, and tony can't remember the last time he actually felt butterflies in his stomach at attention from an alpha. besides, there are worse ideas than using an alpha as a cover. it'll be a few days walk back to paris; tony would feel safer having an alpha by his side who seems uninterested in just tumbling him into the bushes by the side of the road.
...and if things go poorly, well, stark industries has an entire line dedicated to discreet weapons for omegas. he can defend himself.
(things won't go poorly though; steve is too smitten to even consider messing things up with this omega (and equally too aware that there's no future for a drifter and a society omega))
(not that that's going to stop him from sweeping tony off his feet anyway)
