Fairy Tale High e-Books

Yesterday, in my last post, I asked if anyone knew how to read the ebooks from the Fairy Tale High website ...and guess what? I’ve finally found them! In fact, when you click on the links to read the ebooks on the home page, it gives you a wrong URL adress... but the ebooks are still available.

You know what era of romcoms I miss? It's the early 2000s teen romcoms that were based on classic literature. They were some of my favorite ones, and yeah, some were loosley based, but they still hit those important bases, and they were so much fun.

We had:

Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility - Material Girls

I might be missing some, but I remember just having fun with these. One of my English teachers also showed us a few of these movies while studying Shakespeare to show how pieces of literature can change over the years and inspire other's own takes.

Did anyone else watch The Little Mermaid 1 & 2 when they were young and spend the next 10 years thinking about how Melody and Ariel were revolting against their parents for pretty much the exact same thing and that open communication between parent and child could have avoided most of the conflict but instead the parent was just trying the only way they knew how to keep their child safe and that learned behaviours are passed through generations causing the same damage and that maybe your mum isn't a complete monster maybe she just had terrible role models and then spend your teenage years observing your parents and seeing them in a light that maybe you wouldn't have if you didn't really want to trade places with Ariel so you could be a mermaid or was that just me.

#these movies did 2 things to me #1 make me examine general trauma and parenting at a young age #2 make me spend a solid 2 weeks as a teen convinced that if I just found the right website I could definitely become a mermaid through magic #the second one didn't work out so well #the little mermaid
