this was the very first time I ever actually drew Donnie right, where he didn't make me nauseous just by looking at him, and IT WAS FROM THIS WEIRD SPECIFIC ANGLE FROM SOME REASON. If I ever drew him in a way that looked good it was almost always THIS angle, especially in doodles, it was never ever Donnie actually facing front, it was just him with this weird slouch and his back turned slightly.

am I using too many of whatever "," is, listen I almost flunked English I can't punctuate for crud but I'm trying my best over here ok

this was never supposed to see the light of day, but I think this would be considered fanart of a fanart?? I saw taytei 's species swap au on pinterest before I knew who they were and decided "yk what?? yeah I'll steal it but only for me because I'm bored"

which brings me to the next few drawings

I made a joke about Donnie giving Leo his own tablet because he kept stealing it based on a very old drawing back in 2019 and it led to the idea of Leo turning into an Ipad kid, crusty screen and Ipad case in all its glory

if it wasn't obvious the background is a png of McDonald's because of course they're at McDonald's

ok, this is gonna sound so stereotypically ADHD of me but listen it makes sense lemme explain

so basically, I had a silly thought in my head that I've had for a long while about Donnie being British for no reason with no explanation as to why, it's not a headcanon it's just a funny thought I like to think about (so maybe it's an AU idk)

and I was binging Jack Whitehall (who was British) and it got to the part where he went on a schpiel on Robert Pattinson where he was talking about what it was like to go to school with him and there was this one section where he talks about being in school theatre with him.

and I thought.... "man wouldn't it be funny if that was the disaster twins..." and everything spiraled from there.

I made up this whole Yokai school they would have gone to if they didn't live in the sewers. Donnie is the head of the drama club, he always plays and casts himself as the main character in his own productions that he himself directs because he's just that good at his job. Leo joins the drama club and shows Donnie up, making him a little bit jealous. Leo is only let in because of the club members vouching for him, Which then leads to Donnie treating him poorly and casting him as a tree (SEE WERE COMING FULL CIRCLE) this obviously upsets Leo and ends up giving him more of a reason to become the center of attention, What was supposed to be a drag ended up helping Leo more than harming his chances of ruining Donnie's plans.

Everything then spirals into a competitive back and forth as to who is the better actor. It stops being about who gets to play which part and more about who comes out of this feud alive with a prestigious acting role tied to their name.

That was everything I thought about at the time though I just thought "HAHA DISASTER TWINS HIJINX" and that was it

someone send me that Donnie toy with the big head and maybe I will start writing fanfiction/JJJJJ

I had this idea of Donnie adopting a dog from Todd because it had an attitude and then the dog ended up being just as smart as him helping him solve equations and stuff and eventually it became his lab partner

yeah that paired up with the RotTMNT drama club thing I sound like I have a very weird brain we're moving on

I have to admit this because I really didn't wanna post this without a heads up but yes this is inspired by that one drawing made by h*bermen right before I even knew about what they did and I feel guilty about this one sometimes just by the sheer fact that it's even loosely associated to them :/

I have nothing to say about this one other than I suck at rendering

this drawing of the boys fighting over their childhood blankie was supposed to be a bit of a concept for a comic I wanted to make but never got around to even writing it out,

the gist of it was that the lair was starting to get a bit messy with the things they've hoarded over the last couple of years, so the turtles+splinter decided to clean everything up, managing what to throw away and what to keep

they come across a blanket that they used to have as kids (which was the same blanket from the flashback in hidden city's most wanted) The individual turtles are hesitant at first and decline wanting to keep it, but overtime they start to realize just how much they want their childhood blanket back. They start making excuses and stealing the blanket from one another, insisting that they needed it for something important, which was very much not the case.

soon everything ramps up to the point where their methods of trying to take ownership of the blanket start getting wilder and wilder and hijinx ensues, not long before everyone overtly starts fighting over it like their life depended on it at the climax of the episode.

I didn't really have a plan yet as to how it was going to end, but if I were to make something up on the spot I'd say either:

A.) it's revealed that the blanket was actually splinter's old bath towel that he doesn't use anymore, the turtles are disgusted by this and stop fighting over it. That is until the twist at the end where one of the turtles comes back for it and takes the towel for themselves when no one is around. gross.

B.) Mikey stops the fight before it gets too serious, calling him and his brothers out for acting like savages over a blanket. Soon everyone realizes that the blanket isn't important, the blanket may be of great significance to them, but their memories together will always be more important, and they can't let a simple piece of cloth tear them apart.

and then after everyone else has left and made up, turns out that it was actually Mikey's plan all along to have them stop fighting to keep the blanket for himself.

this is more of a doodle but I had to bring this one up because it's just funny to me

basically, I was drawing Leo and I had two separate layers, I drew Leo photogenically on the layer above with the deranged Leo invisible underneath, and after some time I completely forgot what I drew on the layer below and made it visible again

yeah you can imagine my soul leaving my body

okay, a bit of a backstory on this one, this was my very first actually finished RotTMNT animation. It was for a trend on TikTok not too long ago where artists would be drawing a character and the character would move to let the artist continue drawing them

This one animation has single-handedly given me so much clout, like holy crap it's literally at 5M views now and it scares me a little 😭😭

a post-s1 finale/s2 premiere fanfic, detailing a character study of neurodivergency, ninja magic treated seriously, minor PTSD, and familial love. (@taytei thanks again for helping brainstorm this story!!)

PREVIEW:

They’re all understandably jumpy, the first little while after kicking Shredder’s shiny metal ass. New York itself is jumpy; the rampage of destruction over the course of 48 hours left long, random patterns of ruins. The news hasn’t stopped raving about it, with the internet being even worse- but, hey, if someone wasn’t in the know about what went down, the fearful confusion is natural.

Leo is someone who knows the details, however, which is why he feels irked that an unease hasn’t left him even a week later. His injuries, like the rest of his family’s, have healed enough that he can be reasonably trusted not to keel over in a gutter. The immediate two days following Shredder’s banishment were spent basically living in each other’s pockets; no one had been eager to be alone overly long.

Raph is still feeling like that, even if he won’t admit it outright. His fretful clinginess is part of why Leo is roaming on his own right now; like, of course he loves his big brother, but Raph’s anxiety about abandonment has ratcheted up to an overwhelming level. He just needs some space and a bit of fresh air, then he can head home and let Raph smother him with affection again.

Leo wishes Mikey the best of luck, since their youngest brother is an even bigger target for mother-henning, and Leo and Donnie have both scampered off for alone time tonight.

Alone time which, admittedly, isn’t helping as much as he’d hoped. Leo stops off on a building overlooking a torn-up street; it used to be a string of shops, cafes, and the like, but now it looks like a tornado blew through. The sight of the damage makes him feel a little queasy, silent judgement of his own actions coming to mind not for the first time.

Maybe if he’d been faster, maybe if he’d been cleverer. Maybe if he’d talked Big Mom into a better deal, maybe if he hadn’t squandered so much time making sure everything lined up just so. Then maybe this street and dozens of others wouldn’t be in the state they are.

Since you don't care about any criticism of these people regarding 'shipping', what about Taytei who drew really affectionate family art coaxed into supporting t/cest by Hobermenn? Is THAT normal behaviour? Taytei is heartbroken by their actions. Did you bother reading anything on that callout post at all instead of jumping into defending everyone on there?

All I see is “this person talked to me about sibling dynamics, and then IN PRIVATE ON THEIR OWN ACCOUNT, they were drawing incest.”

What’s the crime here? To me it seems the artist respected taytei enough to not bring up incest ships in their presence, and kept any incest/shippy sibling stuff onto their private account, when taytei wasn’t around.

I’m sorry taytei’s feelings were hurt, but I all see here is entitlement. How is the artist drawing incest on their personal locked account a BETRAYAL?

And how were they COAXED into supporting incest? I do not see any indication of that in their post about it.

If the artist was DMing them about incest, trying to convincing them to start drawing incest ships, then I’d see the issue. but I do not see that here. Taytei does not say anything to that effect. I don’t see the issue here other than at worst someone who is extremely entitled about the hobbies/interests another person does in their free time, or at best, a person who has some boundaries issues and had a genuine misunderstanding.

Edit: Okay so I read the imgur screencaps regarding the incident with taytei.

First let me say, these specific screencaps were so small on imgur I couldn’t read them, so I didn’t bother. Idk if it was imgur or my computer screen or what. But the one tweet on that imgur link that I had managed to read initially was the artist making general tweets about drawing nsfw, and I thought they were all in that same vein and didn’t want to strain my eyes, so I didn’t bother to read the rest of them. That’s my fault, and I’m sorry.

I can see way tay felt betrayed, with the way the artist spoke about her on that account. Idk if the artist was more aggressive/coering in DM or what, but either way, it was wrong of the artist to try to persuade tay into shipping incest when they knew she didn’t like incest ships.

I don’t condone that. I’ve always said that people should respect others’ squicks, and tag things, and respect their boundaries, etc. And I still stand by that. The artist was wrong for that.

On the flip side, I also don’t condone trying to ruin people’s lives just for drawing rule 34, which is what every other artist on that post is being “called out” for.

So one artist being a disrespectful, boundary-breaking a-hole doesn’t undo all the crap fandom police have done in this situation.

The callout is “these artist all drew underage porn and incest of fictional turtles.” It’s not “this one artist disrespected someone’s boundaries.” THAT’S why the callout is bogus.

So, since I know Legend of Korra exists and I don’t wanna ignore it, I made my own Avatar oc, and she’s born an earth bender!

Except, also like... modern?

So the premise of it is that the entirety of the ATLA map is in the Bermuda Triangle, and they have a v v strict isolation policy. Anybody going outside of their nation is practically unheard of, but going outside where nobody else has come back from? Bitch, you are very dead.

So naturally, my oc who wants absolutely NOTHING to do with bending because all it has brought her is pain and sadness and her dad being an asshole, decides that’s where she wants to go. She ends up in NYC, where she meets the TMNT (something akin to @taytei ‘a designs because I love mostly blind Raphael) and for awhile, everything is chill. She gets mental breakdown tattoos every now and again that also symbolize part of each tribe (she loves seeing other people bend, she just has a personal aversion to it) and everything is sorta chill. She gets romantically invested in either Leo or Raph (everyone is an adult, it’s fine) and meets up with everyone regularly.

One day, she’s wearing a green dress (she hates the color green, she feels too easily identified as the earthbending royalty she is) and the bounty hunter her family sent after her (nobody knows she’s the avatar yet- she kept it hidden) spots her and chases her for awhile until she accidentally reveals she’s the avatar. Bounty hunter freaks out and goes back to the earth kingdom. She freaks out and stays isolated in her apartment for awhile and wears anything that isn’t the earth kingdom royalty colors. She only goes out for errands and work, and even then keeps it to the bare minimum, talking to whichever turtle is her love interest whenever he comes to visit her.

At one point, a week passes and nobody hears from her. So the guys decide to check it out and find a letter saying she’s been taken and that she’s sorry she didn’t get to properly say goodbye. So naturally, they all chase her and find where she went, getting there about a month after she goes. When she sees them again, she’s deaf- apparently, a small explosion occurred when she was forcibly removed from her apartment that deafened her, but neither of her parents believe her, so she’s sorta stuck. The only saving grace is the fact that everyone else in the palace does believe her, and they discreetly sign what her parents or anybody else says so she can understand it. The five of them break out and make it look like they’re going to the northern water tribe when they’re actually going back to NYC to make hearing aids that can let her hear again and to live there.

When they get back, she notices a letter from her landlord. Apparently, while she was gone, somebody bought the entire apartment complex and gave it to her. Impressive. Okay. She’s now a landlord who won’t kick anybody out and is super forgiving cause she also goes back to her job. It’s an office job and somebody told her boss that she had gone on vacation. Cool. Okay, now time to live in peace with the occasional bounty hunter who leaves dishonored and with the message that if her family truly wants her back, they’ll have to bring back her cold, dead body.

This is what she looks like.

All I need for her is a name. Any ideas?

Favorite Animal: I love every kind of cat.

Average hours of 💤: 7 to 8 hrs, if i can manage. I deteriorate pretty quickly without it for health bullshit reasons. I used to be a lot more hardcore, but stuff happened.

Dream Trip: I want a motor home decked out for max comfort and an unlimited pool of vacation time. I would want to just drive a big loop cross country and see every national park. Get some good boots. Get a good camera. Grab a bag of blank journals. Grab a friend or two. Vroom Vroom.

Dream job: I don’t want a job. Can I just be independently wealthy? Not like... “Mega-yachts and Richie Rich” wealthy. Just, “Roof over my head, Pay my bills, Can get my teeth cleaned, Able to repair my car, and Still treat myself to a box of off-brand Nilla Wafers when I go grocery shopping” wealthy.

But if i just got to do STUFF and get paid regardless of whether or not you can really make a living from it in real life with my current skill levels? I’d write kids books and not-so-kids books. I’d garden and take photos of whatever tickled my fancy.

When I made my blog: About a decade ago, I made my main blog because I was going to be the kind of strong, proud human who could freely mix her real life with her internet life in a bold and self-confident way! I made this side blog a few months after that because I am shy about things after all and wanted to reblog and interact with stuff that I felt self-conscious putting on my main blog. Then I wandered off of tumblr for at least 5 years? (IDK. Time is a difficult concept.) But I have come back.

Why I made a returned to tumblr: Very recently I returned to ‘active’ participation in the TMNT fandom and have tried to use this side blog as a compartmentalized space where I can be obsessively fannish without upsetting folks who followed me for original projects and stuff back on the main blog.

Side blog @deadlyflan ! In hindsight, I wish I’d known from the get-go that I was going to turn this into a fannish blog. I would have used my Kyabetsu handle from FF.net, a ton of old forums, and AO3 and made things easier for myself. ALSO I WISH that I knew that tumblr wasn’t going to ever let me instigate messages with people or reply to posts WITH MY SIDE BLOG HANDLE before I followed 5,000 glorious turtle-people and reblogged their entire brilliant blogs on this account. So yeah, if you wanna talk, turtle-people, you gotta talk to me first, because tumblr won’t let me message you until I’m replying to something you sent. (I can reblog you and comment though! And be in chats! And um... post things.)

Reason for my URL: I was trying to separate my main blog from my goofing around blog and Deadly Flan seemed about as far as it could get.

Klance AU Month Day 1: Coffee Shop AU Part 2/3

A mini-fic thatbdree inspiration from @taytei ‘s “The Blue Moon Cafe”

(the first part is the comic in written form)

The next day Keith found himself back at the Blue Moon Cafe at 7:00 am. He didn't know why he found himself there again. Maybe it was because his encounter with the cute barista wouldn't leave his mind the rest of his restless night. His smile imprinted in his mind.

This time, when Keith walked into the Blue Moon, he was not the only one in the shop. That did make him hesitate, but the thought of seeing the young barista, and tasting his coffee kept him going. The shop wasn't super crowded, just a few stragglers here and there. Some were studying for their upcoming finals, some were just getting a bite and scrolling through their phones. But the thing Keith noticed right way, was that the barista he had come to see, wasn't there.

His heart dropped a little, disappointment one of the more prominent feelings he felt swirling in his chest. He shook his head as if to shake away his nerves. He was not a very social person, but he was determined to show that guy that he could figure out his name, even if it took him all week.

He sat in the same spot he sat at that night and watched as the two unfamiliar baristas worked. One of them was a small, kind of gremlin-ish girl with short hair, no less than 15 or 16 years old. She moved around sluggishly, obviously not used to working at such an early hour. The other was a large boy around his age, maybe younger, with dark skin and a bright attitude and persona. He moved around like he was born to be in a kitchen, not a small cafe.

The larger of the two noticed him first.

“Hello! Welcome to The Blue Moon! What can I get ya?” He was very chipper and it threw Keith off his rhythm.

“Uh... Um, I'm actually looking for someone?” He said hesitantly, nervous for a reason he couldn't quite explain. The smaller barista hand moved the the back of the workspace, smartphone in hand.

“Well sure! What's their name?”

That's what Keith was afraid he would be asked.

“Well, I.. don't actually know his name..” Keith glanced to this barista's name tag,

'Hunk'

“Oh..” Hunk mumbled. Not in disappointment, but contemplative. “Well what does he look like?”

Now, Keith knew exactly what the barista looked like, but as to not embarrass himself, he answers as vaguely as possible.

“Well, uh.. He's tall and has, like, short brown hair, and uhh, yeah.”

“Hmm, well you could be talking about a few people.. Maybe Taylor?”

Taylor? No.. that didn't sound right. He was apparently already familiar with his name and Taylor just didn't sound right…

“Do you know anything else about him? Like maybe his eye color?”

Keith's mind went back to the eyes that had locked onto his just the night before. The beautiful color, sparkiling with amusement.

“Blue. Blue, like the ocean.” Keith smiled to himself. He didn't know what was coming over him, but he couldn't say he disliked it.

“Oh! You must be talking about Lance. Lance Mcclain, he's my best bud! Though his shift is later tonight, starts around 10 p.m. I believe.”

Keith stopped listening after hearing his name.

Lance.

Lance Mcclain.

Keith remembered him from high school, he seemed to compete with him in everything, though Keith didn’t really pay him much mind. His thoughts always on his pop or Krolia. He didn't understand how he could have forgotten someone like him. Lance Mcclain... Lance Mcclain..

Lance Mcclain.

All the updates about the zine will be provided here, and I need all of you to know about updates.

That being said, let me talk about some things I need to get out of the way:

-I am a sophomore in high school. My school has crappy wifi and cannot handle the tumblr app. I have notifications turned off on my tumblr app, too, so, UNTIL 4:30 IN THE AFTERNOON, TEXAS TIME, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR MESSAGES.

-For the next ten days, I have to prepare like hell for the SATs. My test is in ten days, so I will not be active on tumblr (posting, at least.)

-I will make a hangouts group chat RIGHT NOW with every single person who is on the Google Doc. If you have questions to ask me, ASK ME THERE. I will be active, because I can respond during the school day.

-After the 25th, I am free from the SATs for a while until my second attempt. So, I will be free then, and can sit down and plan everything with you guys.

-ADMINS: I am making a special hangouts group chat with you guys. I need help planning and updating, and I will give Social Admins my tumblr password so you guys can post updates if you need to. Be active on hangouts. Turn on your notifications.

-CREATORS: You can start working on your works of art! If you have questions, please talk to me on hangouts. The deadline has not been set, but the admins and I will discuss the deadlines after the 25th.

-Calligraphers ;) : Your job doesn't start until we start designing, so you can relax these ten days (actually, until the deadline). I will talk to you when we start designing.

-Creative Judges: Your jobs ALSO don't start until the ten days, BUT I will contact you giys and the Social Admins to help me decide the deadlines on the 25th.

SO: These 10 days, until the 25th, I won't be posting. You guys can help spread the word A LOT by just reblogging a bit. (Not too much, though! We have quite a few people already.) If they want to contribute, kindly ask for their email and add them to the Google Doc.

After the 25th, on the 26th, I will announce the deadlines for contributions. By that time, no new people will be accepted as contributors.

I have the SATs to take in ten days, so please bear with me while I try my best to study while juggling this! I will answer all questions on hangouts, but I won't be as active on my Tumblr (FOR THESE TEN DAYS ONLY). You can start working on your contribution. FOLLOW ME AND TURN ON THE NOTIFICATIONS BECAUSE I WILL START POSTING UPDATES AS PRIVATE POSTS, MEANING ONLY MY FOLLOWERS WILL SEE IT. I cannot tag every one of you in every single update, so turn on notifications.
