Wanted to make a rec post about a bunch of random sci-fi manga i like and hope that others enjoy as well.
Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction:
A story about 2 young women in their day to day lives as a giant alien ship looms over Tokyo. A fair bit of the story focuses modern social political issues in Japan and the mystery surrounding the mothership and the aliens and why they are there.
The series will get two movie adaptations later this year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dai Dark:
The story mainly revolves zaha sanko and how a legend exist that if one gets ahold of his bones they will have any wish granted to them, and so sanko needs to search through space in order to find whoever put this curse on him and kill them. The manga is made by Q Hayashida and features a very gritty world with very goofy and fun characters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm:
A story mostly about a cyborg with a sense for battle wanting to fin her origins after crashing on earth. The series has 3 entries so far with the third being on hiatus sadly, the 3 series being Alita battle angel, baa last order and baa mars chronicle. However the series has excellent art a very good story and great action.
It currently has a 1993 anime and a live action movie
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
20th Century Boys
The story revolves around a group of adults who in their youth created a symbol to represent their friendship which is then used by some malevolent character called friend in the future for his own cult and his goal to take over the world. With most of the story being about trying to recall who he may be and how to stop his plot. Its a VERY story and dialogue heavy series, but its all worth it once everything starts clicking.
it has a short sequel series that contains the ending of the actual series called "21st century boys"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pluto
Made by the same person as 20th century boys Naoki urasawa, its an adaptation of "the greatest robot on earth" story with its own unique spin. Its about the ongoing murders of the seven most powerful robots on earth. It deals in a lot of stuff about the sentience of the robots and their rights.
It currently has a full anime adaptation on netflix.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Planetes
A lot of the story mainly focuses on the struggles and relationships of the main characters with space mainly being a backdrop. Its a very interpersonal story and i can't really do it justice by just describing it so i recommend reding or watching it yourself.
It also has a full anime adaptation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
10,000 light year binoculars
This one is just a oneshot but i enjoyed it so much that i really had to rec it. Its about an alien girl with binoculars that allow her to spy on a boy on earth from her own planet and wanting to meet him someday. The entire oneshot is in color, the art is great AND its short.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Star tripper: Planetarium Ghost Travel
A very comfy manga that only recently stared to get fantranslated. Its about a guy called 303 going to "ghost planets where most of the inhabitants have gone into a deep sleep and turned into trees.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heavenly Delusion/Tengoku Daimakyou
And finally Heavenly, it has two concurrent plotlines with the first one being about a boy and a girl going through a post apocalyptic Japan looking for "new heaven", while the second is about a group a kids in a sterile facility wanting to go explore outside the walls of said facility.
It has an anime that covers the first 5 volumes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And those are all my sci-fi recs for the moment!!! Hope someone finds something new to enjoy of these here. apologies if the writing ain't the best i wrote this at like 3 am.

303 listening to the rain. Star Tripper is further proof that Kono Manga ga Sugoi lists never disappoint. It's being scanlated by Sir Clam, another point of reference who won't leave you disappointed.

I forgot to post this yesterday, but John Ritter in his heyday should've appeared on one of those "Battle of the Network Stars" and "Circus of the Stars" specials...

Maintenance Day (open RP starter with Tripper)
Tripper was excited for the job he was given for once in his life. Finally he was given permission to perform maintenance on the shuttles and fighters coming in from a battalion. He bounced on his toes as the last LAAT/i landed and the doors opened and other clones disembarked. Not waiting for any other signal, Tripper rushed to the Lartie, only to have his leg lock up and trip face down into the flight deck.
"Ow..."

Rank the Star Trek captains based on whether or not they're expert road trippers
Archer - He tries. So hard. He burns a CD mixtape to listen to and rents a huge RV that only kind of works. He plans out a bunch of stops but "leaves room in the schedule for unplanned adventures :)" and then proceeds to not follow the plan at all and everything goes wrong. Actually, now that I think about it, Archer on a roadtrip would probably just mostly be the plot of the movie "RV."
Pike - He lets Una plan the stops and he METICULOUSLY plans the food. He and Una take a survey about what all their crew wants to see along the way and try so hard to integrate them all into the trip. He plays LOTS of car games, like Eye Spy or that one game where you count animals on your side of the vehicle until you see a graveyard and have to start over or that other game where you describe a movie plot badly and everyone has to guess what it is. He lets Uhura control the music and Spock read the map and Ortegas drive. The plan for the trip goes off the rails, of course, but everyone ends up having a blast anyway. Overall a SOLID roadtrip.
Kirk - Kirk takes everyone to see every single tourist trap they can find and, you know what? It's fun. Is the World's Largest Truckstop really all that special? No, but the memories they make there are. I also imagine his roadtrip largely takes place in Iowa and other parts of the Midwest so a lot of the trip is rolling cornfields. Overall not a terrible trip, if a little slow and nutty.
Picard - Due to being European, Picard's idea of a roadtrip is a little... different. The crew is a little confused as to why they are only doing about 3 hours of driving a day, but they do appreciate that it's through Wine Country, where the rolling hills are lovely. I imagine Picard plans a "themed trip" (wine tasting and touring) and Riker is the one to throw in the fun tourist traps they do end up visiting. Q is somehow at every single place they stop. Lwaxana is at a few of them too.
Sisko - Sisko takes everyone on a tour of the MLB baseball fields. He meticulously plans places to eat (mostly cajun places that he critiques as 'not as good as his dad's, but acceptable.') and fields to visit. In the meantime, Jadzia picks some more... colorful places to visit in the evenings. Different groups of people get lost but they always find each other. Everyone is a little wary of visiting baseball fields, but once they find out that it was Jake's idea to cheer his dad up, everyone acts like each field is the most fascinating thing they have ever seen. In the end, the trip is a little tedious, but they have all bonded over the solidarity of making Sisko feel better.
Janeway - Janeway drives through the middle of nowhere. Absolutely no cell signal ever. Google Maps will not work. They stop every hour or so to look at the sights. At several points, their van gets robbed and they have to craft new supplies as they go. They make some "road enemies" (other roadtrippers that get competitive about parking spots and camping areas and stuff) and get in several fights (that they win). They camp alongside the road instead of staying in hotels and it's kinda miserable but it builds a lot of relationships and character. Their van breaks down a lot but they always fix it themselves. B'Elanna ends up souping up the engine about 4 different times. In the end, they all get home pretty much dead on their feet, but the whole crew is planning the next road trip anyway.
Freeman - She has a schedule that no one follows and she yells about it a lot. The road trip keeps getting completely derailed. They absolutely do not hit any planned stops and they have to replace each of the van's tires 3 times. Good news, however, is that they got a GREAT sale on all the trinkets and stuff that they bought along the way so everyone is still having an okay time.
Dal - Barely has a plan. He basically piled everyone in a vehicle one day and started driving. They stop whenever they feel like it and do odd jobs to earn enough money to keep going. The end goal is to reach San Francisco by the end, but Dal has to keep them backtracking for various reasons and they're having a heck of a time understanding exactly how this brand-new Chevy Silverado with a fancy computer system that they accidentally stole works. Everyone has fun anyway, even though they are also kinda lowkey running from the cops.
Burnham - I don't honestly know enough about Burnham as a captain to say for sure but I think she and Saru would plan a pretty chaotic lil road trip that kinda jumps all over the country in a strange order. Lots of zigzags and backtracking and stuff. I think they have fun though?
FINAL RANKING:
1st Place - Pike
2nd Place - Kirk
3rd Place - Janeway
4th Place - Sisko
5th Place - Archer
6th Place - Burnham
7th Place - Picard
8th Place - Dal
9th Place - Freeman

Random HC's That I Probably Overexplain - Cater Edition 1!
TW: Angst heavy, using kids for profit via social media, emotional/physical abuse (nothing explicit/gory) His mom was a family life vlogger. I've dabbled on this topic a few times before, but never got really into it. His mom ran a channel called the "Beloved Diamond Family", in which his mother went by Dreamy Diamond, and his older sisters went by Dazzling and Ditzy Diamond. He was "Daring Diamond" or sometimes just called "Little Gem/Diamond". "Daddy Diamond" was never around, but his mom sometimes went on rants about him on camera. They rarely made it onto the channel though. Part of the reason the Diamonds moved so much is because of his dad's work, but the other part was because of how much information his mom would divulge and put her kids in danger. Cater's dad did his best to protect his kids from the consequences of her actions, but couldn't get ahead of them. Cater was the star of many of the videos, as he was the baby and everyone wanted to see more of him. He hated being made to do everything that his mom said, or repeating the actions a hundred times until he got it "perfect", but the comments of other parents telling him how much their kids loved him and whatnot was enough to keep him going. It's also why he's so attached to his phone now and a big part of why he just keeps up the facade. To be caught at a less than picture perfect moment or with a subpar reaction at this point scares him. Irrationally, he worries about his mothers reaction, and because he's never really been to school for long enough to make friends, he has to act the only way he knows how and hope that people keep liking the show he puts on. A lot of the videos were pretty fluffy, happy videos, but Ms. Diamond would do anything for views, and did put out videos of Cater sobbing over his dead pet, about him breaking his arm on his skateboard, and a lot of her "prank" videos that were mostly just endangering her kids or trying to prove her husband was cheating. (At one point she did a "slip and slide" in the kitchen and called Cater over to try some of her cookies. He couldn't have been more than five or six, so he came running in excited and ended up in urgent care. All the scars and marks he got from his moms wacked out ideas have been carefully hidden under makeup and magic for years now, but sometimes he doesnt have the energy to cover them up on his clones). Obviously, none of the Diamond kids were off very well, but when they were "too big to be cute anymore" his mom kind of let the channel die out and became a more severe alcoholic. However, when her channel started to pick up traction again years later, Ms. Diamond decided to keep her channel going with behind the scenes clips and telling stories about her kids while mildly tipsy. She didn't tell her kids she was going to do this, and now that they're all 18 and over they want to stop her, but don't want to cause more drama from her. Cater's bigger sister wants to take her to court for everything she's done, but Cater and his eldest sister just want to ignore it and sweep it under the rug like nothing is going on because it hurts too much to revisit the things they used to have to do. Cater's mom is...a BoyMom. Like she is Not Normal about her son to a creepy uncomfortable extent and Cater doesn't know how to deal with it, he mostly tries to break contact with her, but she is relentless and a master guilt tripper. He had been looking forward to his 18th birthday to officially disown her or put a restraining order on her, but never had the heart to actually do it, because...it is his mom, and family never abandons each other unless you want to be a piece of shit, right? (This is not serious, please, if you have family that doesn't treat you well don't be afraid to leave if you can)

Where do you think all of the star trek captains would take their students on a field trip?
Hoooooo boy. What a question. I haven't seen LD, yet, and I'm not touching Discovery. Here we go!
Jonathan Archer: He would take his kids* to the aquarium. He's notoriously known as the "cool" field tripper. He seems to have the kids figured out, but somehow, there's always an accident or a kid missing and he swears he's never going to do it ever again. Someone hits their head on the glass or gets lost in the jellyfish section. 4/10 field tripper.
Christopher Pike: He would take his students to an art or history museum and make a big, scary speech upfront about how there would absolutely be NO messing around and if anyone breaks anything, they're going to get in big trouble, mister! He ends up the one screwing around with students, though, but nothing is harmed and no one is lost. Una keeps him on track so they can see the whole museum. 8/10 field tripper.
Jim Kirk: This guy is a Lugnuts** game field tripper. He wanted to go and there was a discount. He'd say there were math benefits or something and give them all a worksheet to fill out about statistics or safety or etc on the bus. No one is lost, but there might be a fight or two after sitting the wrong kids together in the stands. 7/10 field tripper.
Jean-Luc Picard: 100% to an art museum, no if ands or buts. He'd keep strict attendance and yell at anyone who dares touch any of the exhibits. I think there would be tears at one point but overall an excellent field trip. He'd know some obscure knowledge about every piece and it would be soothing to hear, and he's also really having a fun time with the kids. Tight leash on his students, no fights, no missing kids. 10/10 field tripper.
Benjamin Sisko: Lugnuts gamer as well, but also maybe a capital building or botanical grounds and gardens. Most of his field trips have educational value and he wants his kids to learn something that will stick with them the rest of their lives. He lets them have free reign and usually no one ends up missing. They'd all meet up for lunch halfway through and everyone appreciates how he treats them as if they have their own minds. 10/10 field tripper.
Kathryn Janeway: Also known as the "mom" field tripper, she'll probably take you through a city you've never seen before or the zoo. She's got simple field trips but always always always a dead-set purpose. She's got wiggle room for just-in-cases and lets the kids split into groups with chaperones. She'll yell if you get out of line. Sometimes people go missing but she always gets them back within half an hour. 9.5/10 field tripper. (Would go higher but there was someone crying... so...)
*I'm assuming this is a school-friendly field trip setting, so think average school institution budget kind of field trips. **The Lansing Lugnuts are a minor league baseball team in the American Midwest.

The main ten said no to their child doing something that requires a parent signature, how would they react to catching their child in the act of forging their signature
Sans: he causally floats the permission slip into his hands and cheerfully tells his kid they lost all electronics privileges for a week~ no means no buster.
Papyrus: he tuts disapprovingly and gives his kid his best “I’m not mad, just disappointed” look. It’s very effective. His kid is made to go to their room and write a 100 word essay on what they did wrong, what they should’ve done instead and what they can do better. They can come out when they’re finished
Star: he also snatches the permission letter back with magic. Then lectures to kid again about the reasons of why he said no before, she tells them that they’re grounded until they prove to him that he can trust them again
Honey: if you thought papyrus’ disappointed look was bad, honeys makes his kid tear up. (Honey is a pro guilt tripper). His kids bursts into tears and starts apologizing and making excuses before he can even say anything. Honey sighs and has his kid help him put together an appropriate punishment. The day of the field trip, they’ll stay home instead and spend the time with him doing yard work.
Red: just sits in the kitchen in the dark, watching his kid forge his signature, waiting for them to turn around and notice him. They finally do, and red laughs when they scream. Later the next morning, with his kid watching, red calls their teacher to inform them that he had not given permission to go on that field trip just in case they try to give the teacher a paper that says otherwise. Then he makes them apologize to the teacher on the phone for being dishonest
Edge: in a commanding voice, he yells at his kid to drop and give him 20 lol. While they do the pushups, edge gives them a lecture of a lifetime over dishonestly, loosing his trust, the laws about forging signatures, and a reminder of why he said no in the first place. Oh and they’re grounded
Mal: oh, you wanna play mind games? He’ll play mind games. Mal pretends he never noticed, and lets the kid turn in the permission slip. On the day of the trip however, instead of dropping them off like normal, he walks into their classroom with them, and to the kids horror, he apologizes to the teacher for their behavior and the fake slip, and makes them apologize well. Then his kid gets to go home with him and does chores for the day
Cash: he feels like such a hypocrite whenever he has to parent his kid considering all the crap he pulled when he himself was young. After grounding and assigning some appropriate punishment, cash goes “crying” to mal on the phone about parenting lol. His brother just laughs at him
Oak: he’s almost certain he said no to this trip, and if he didn’t, his kid wouldn’t need to write his signature for him. He casually says he can invite his SO in to confirm if he said no or not if his kid wants. They drop the act and mulishly admit they were lying.
Willow: like papyrus, he’s a firm believer in using essays as a way to help correct his kids. It makes them reflect on their actions but also gives him insight into what they were thinking and how he can help. Of course, if they decide to be stubborn about it, he has plenty of chores they can do instead

If you're up for it, I would like to humbly request Yandere Rudy or Yandere Alejandro fics/headcanon, please? Tq <33 🥺
i don't write about rudy because i don't know an awful lot about about him, same with alejandro but i can try with ale? sorry in advance, this might be shit
yandere alejandro oneshot/headcannon
Tumblr media
warnings: yandere behaviour, obsessive and possessive behaviour, cursing, murder, love bombing and guilt tripping, manipulation, stockholm syndrome, punching,
masterlist
-alejandro. i can't see him being clingy, rather thats something you would do. but, i can see him being a possessive and guilt tripper yandere.
"maldito infierno! where the fuck have you been?!" as soon as you stepped through the door it was a screaming match. insults thrown at eachother.
"christ sake, alejandro!! i was with my friends!" you screamed back, your throat ached as you never screamed at him before.
he grabbed you by your throat slamming you against the door. fear took over your mind and it was clear through your terrified eyes. "puta de mierda! ¡¿Me estabas engañando, verdad?! ¿No puedes guardártelo para ti?"
everything went black and his fist came into contact with your nose.
you woke up, seemingly in a dark room. it was cold, you were naked. goosebumps made you shiver as the sound of hard boots stomped against the floor.
a creaking sound. a chair was pulled over to your right as the man at down, clearing his throat. "i shouldn't have to do this, but you give me no choice." a candle was lit and placed on the groud, giving the room light.
it seemed that you had been passed out for a few days, you look ill. you tried to use your voice but it came out in a cough, finally you managed to stop choking on your words. "ale, please.." you begged to no avail.
"no, no. you listen to me now, you aren't leaving this basement until i say so, and you haven't learnt." this felt like a punishment. you came home 21 minutes later than you said. your taxi driver was late. fuck, if he wasn't late would you be in this state?
tears started, they dripped down your cheeks as he wiped them away with his thumbs. "you did this to yourself."
-when you were first allowed out of the cold, dark basement. it was like seeing the stars for the first time as a kid. stunned, it had been months. everything had changed.
anything you liked before had been adjusted slightly to fit his needs because yours weren't valued.
-also, you didn't deserve clothes, he didn't even give you underwear. that wouldn't matter though, you weren't leaving him. ever.
no matter how much you begged and pleaded, nothing would make alejandro budge, he shot death glares at you before leaving you isolated for the rest of the day.
this was his world and you were just living in it.
sorry, the spanish might not he accurate. i dont speak spanish so i had to use google translate.
"puta de mierda! ¡¿Me estabas engañando, verdad?! ¿No puedes guardártelo para ti?" - "you fucking whore! you were cheating on me, weren't you?! can't you keep it to yourself?"
"¡maldito infierno!" - "fucking hell!"
