Benjamin Sisko, the son of a gourmet cook. Can cook a boot and make it taste like heaven

Christopher Pike, it's his hobby. Can't cook a boot and make it taste like heaven but he could make it edible.

James Kirk has been known to make toast on occasion and some eggs but secretly he's decent. Not as good as the afore mentioned but there's a warm, homey quality to what he makes

Picard can, he just doesn't. He's not a wicked good cook but he can follow a recipe.

Jonathan Archer, he can bake some mean cookies and that is IT. Likes too much mayonnaise with things.

I'm sorry but Janeway ruins every food she touches except for coffee. But she occasionally burns coffee.

Where do you think all of the star trek captains would take their students on a field trip?

Hoooooo boy. What a question. I haven't seen LD, yet, and I'm not touching Discovery. Here we go!

Jonathan Archer: He would take his kids* to the aquarium. He's notoriously known as the "cool" field tripper. He seems to have the kids figured out, but somehow, there's always an accident or a kid missing and he swears he's never going to do it ever again. Someone hits their head on the glass or gets lost in the jellyfish section. 4/10 field tripper.

Christopher Pike: He would take his students to an art or history museum and make a big, scary speech upfront about how there would absolutely be NO messing around and if anyone breaks anything, they're going to get in big trouble, mister! He ends up the one screwing around with students, though, but nothing is harmed and no one is lost. Una keeps him on track so they can see the whole museum. 8/10 field tripper.

Jim Kirk: This guy is a Lugnuts** game field tripper. He wanted to go and there was a discount. He'd say there were math benefits or something and give them all a worksheet to fill out about statistics or safety or etc on the bus. No one is lost, but there might be a fight or two after sitting the wrong kids together in the stands. 7/10 field tripper.

Jean-Luc Picard: 100% to an art museum, no if ands or buts. He'd keep strict attendance and yell at anyone who dares touch any of the exhibits. I think there would be tears at one point but overall an excellent field trip. He'd know some obscure knowledge about every piece and it would be soothing to hear, and he's also really having a fun time with the kids. Tight leash on his students, no fights, no missing kids. 10/10 field tripper.

Benjamin Sisko: Lugnuts gamer as well, but also maybe a capital building or botanical grounds and gardens. Most of his field trips have educational value and he wants his kids to learn something that will stick with them the rest of their lives. He lets them have free reign and usually no one ends up missing. They'd all meet up for lunch halfway through and everyone appreciates how he treats them as if they have their own minds. 10/10 field tripper.

Kathryn Janeway: Also known as the "mom" field tripper, she'll probably take you through a city you've never seen before or the zoo. She's got simple field trips but always always always a dead-set purpose. She's got wiggle room for just-in-cases and lets the kids split into groups with chaperones. She'll yell if you get out of line. Sometimes people go missing but she always gets them back within half an hour. 9.5/10 field tripper. (Would go higher but there was someone crying... so...)

*I'm assuming this is a school-friendly field trip setting, so think average school institution budget kind of field trips. **The Lansing Lugnuts are a minor league baseball team in the American Midwest.

ive drawn it a few times it bc its visually so funny to me, but it still feels like such a weird place to draw lmao. its somewhere ive found that hurts my achy breaky back the least which is my uncomfortable living room couch and i put a pillow underneath my legs on a coffee table and a pillow behind my back and i sit like a right angle lololol

25. Something your art has been compared to that you were NOT inspired by

i always remember my friend Liz telling me that my art looked very northwestern (she didnt know i lived in the NW at the time so this was funny to me) and reminded her of stained glass art and it's never left me hahaha. <3

30. What piece of yours do you think is underrated

man I worked my butt off on this picture and clean lined it and got help from both alice and my other friend suzanne on how to approach coloring it with the intense lighting of darkness + fire i wanted out of the piece and did a background with A LOT of screens and details and had to reference the bridge a bit and it did pretty mid with reach!!! 😭 i still like it a lot, but thats the way of it when its niche content; not everything's gonna hit haha U___U </3

Yo, I saw your post about Blur songs reminding you of Trip Tucker (that one you reblogged is VERY Trip) and I was wondering which other ones remind you of him.

hi !! oh boy. that was a bit ago so i may very well be forgetting a few songs... i think "tender" was probably the best example i have, but i did by best to pull some songs + lyrics that particularly reminded me of him(/his relationship with t'pol)

- "she's so high" - as a reflection of how um... desperate their relationship starts off as (i think part of this association is also because hal included "she's so high" by tal bachman on his trip/t'pol playlist which is also an excellent selection)

- "the universal" - half about t'pol's trellium d addiction/half because of trip's relentless optimism and desire to offer any help to her that he can "it really really really could happen"

"to the end" as a trip/t'pol song... self explanatory, i think, but i'm so touched by this being something like their end point: "you and i: collapsed in love / and it looks like we've made it / it looks like we've made it to the end..." i think my favorite part about their dynamic is how they've... walked through hell together. they've saved a planet, fought by each other's side, and made peace at each other's side. i think that in tatv, they've come to a point where you can tell they're nearing the end of something. they're tired, and they've worked harder than they could ever have imagined they would when they first climbed aboard that tinny little ship of theirs all those years ago. i've always thought of 'collapsed in love' meaning less like 'embracing' and more like 'falling into bed after a long day'. i'm compelled by the idea that they come home to each other.that they are near each other--at the end of that unimaginable mission of theirs, and that they associate being at peace with being in each other's presence.

i put "strange news from another star" on my (half baked) enterprise playlist ages ago - it made me think of how isolated the crew of enterprise was from the rest of humanity, being the farthest from earth that anyone had ever been. i so often found myself trying to wrap my head around the fact that they were months away from earth when they heard of the xindi attack, and how strange that must have felt. in relation to trip--i love the line "all i want to be / is washed out by the sea", he's longing for something earth-like, desperate to be home, with his sister, and feels like he's helpless so far away.

+ just for fun, here's my trip, t'pol, and trip/t'pol playlists, none of which are done, and all of which are kind of a mess as i've been continually trying to fit things into them, but which might be worth leafing through if you're on the lookout for some trip tucker songs!

some drawrings of JJ with Philippa while she's recovering from being augmented. :3c they spend some time together on an isolated/remote/rural swampy planet while JJ's doing some civil engineer work for the alien colony that lives there. peppa's on forced medical leave for the time being with no foreseeable return date, they're waiting to see if her natural DNA reasserts itself over time. she'd rather be off-world and away from her family rn so JJ offered to take her with him. :)

little doodle of jace consoling peppa shortly after she's released from starfleet medical or w/e but i did a bad job lol. like the idea is her augmented mind is too loud for her betazoid friend to handle so she cant be around her friend until she's better. like i thinK we (me and tardi) talked about her getting bloody noses from it but maybe not i forget hahah. anyway they stay in contact via video call while she's staying on the planet.

eventually she recovers and starts looking like her old self again, JJ gets her to indulge in some more lizardy/amphibious behaviors like eating buggies and taking swims in the marsh which shes reluctant to do at first but later finds she enjoys.

if you listen to the whole song it just has like those LAST STAND type vibes, and i love the last minute of the song around 2:11 and imagining janeway alone, with her crew having abandoned voyager toward the end of the two-parter, and it's this big explosive finish and shes remembering that shes fighting for THEM and its so EPIIIIIIC HAHAHA ALL THOSE LYRICS MAKE ME GO CRAZY WITH INSPIRATION 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
