Have a very low budget cover! Not the best quality considering I have no recording equipment and did this on an iPhone in my car (with no backing music) but hey at least it’s singing! Anyway, this is a cover of “The Star Of The County Down” I did (specifically Loreena McKennit’s version). Any criticism is welcome! I only wish to improve!
I highly doubt that hardcore Tolkienians don't know this, but if any of you haven't noticed, many of the peoms in The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings have a basic meter of an avarge English/Irish/Scotish folk song.
So, you can actually sing poems like Far Over the Misty Mountains and The Fall of Gil-galad on the tune of songs like Star of the County Down as well as The Wellerman shanty and most cursedly - Drunken Sailor.

I just thought I'd upload this wee picture of Asha with her bunny ears posing beside two garden ornaments in our garden. This is one of Asha's first Easter shoots and it has brought back wonderful memories of this first Easter shoot. Happy Easter from Asha, wee Ashala and myself.
post-vacation hangover except I didn't go anywhere I just spent 4 straight days with Sierra so post-Sierra's vacation hangover...has anyone ever had a guest visit them and you're showing off your boring cringefail city with great weariness and they notice five thousand beautiful and deeply stupid things you never noticed before and then they leave and you have a renewed appreciation for your city 😭

A while ago I told you all I had a Norwegian playlist I'd share sometime and today seemed like a good day for it. The playlist is mostly folk, rock/punk and folk rock, and the the songs have lyrics in both Bokmål and Nynorsk.
anyone who invents spells in canon must have at least a rudimentary understanding of Latin. heaven knows Snape wasn’t going to the sort of primary school that taught classics (do we think he even went to school? Tobias doesn’t seem like he’d be that fussed about attendance and he’s the sort of kid authorities let slip through the cracks) so I’m gonna chalk that one up to your theory that he was raised Catholic.
so true, anon!
this is another reason petunia hates him - she thought she was someone because she'd won big in the coconut shy at cokeworth church of england primary school's summer fete, which snape [like all the rest of the taigs who were sent to our lady of lourdes] was forbidden from attending because he had to go to a confirmation class...
Teenage Wiccan Caitie was wrong about many things but she was so so so right about being obsessed with Loreena McKennit and Celtic Woman and Enya as a gateway to other folk music celtic and otherwise.
My brain cannot stop setting parts of Once And Future King to the melody of other songs that it really should not be sung to. Today it was Star Of The County Down

It's St. Patrick's Day today and I couldn't resist picking a few pictures from my laptop to upload for this occasion. Happy St. Patrick's day...
