Timeline: Post Leo coming out as Transfem + meeting April and Casey + Splinter's infamous 'carry out the mission no matter what/who you must sacrifice to do so', pre Splinter's death + Karai being added (back) into the family,

Scene: The gang is about to head out for a big mission

Splinter pulls Leah aside, hand on her shoulder before he moves his hand to cup her cheek and tells her "I have already lost one daughter. Do not make me lose another."

She looks into her father's eyes, startled for a few seconds before she nods, resolve and a small smile on her face. "Hai, Sensei." Then she's off, joining her brothers and friends at the turnstiles before they leap over them and head into the subway tunnel and out of Splinter's line of sight.

The next morning, they return, injured but all alive and accounted for. Leah is the last one to arrive, walking at the back of the group with Mikey, who was holding his arm - it must be broken. She leads him into the medbay, where everyone else has already filed into, but before she can follow her brother inside, Sensei stops her with a hand on her shoulder. A hand cupping her cheek. Her fathers arms sweeping her into a hug, mindful of her many scrapes and bruises but no less full of love and relief. "Thank you," he says, "for coming back to me alive."

"Of course, Father." She returns the hug as best she can. "I love you too much not to."

Happy Birthday!

Well, technically tomorrow 2 June, but I somehow finished this today.

I thought I'd have finished the Krang infection comic by now so I could have a happy birthday ending, but we're not there yet.

I uh never draw backgrounds or like to colour, but I love fully coloured pieces and well here we are. Trying my best to create something out of my comfort zone.

As a bday gift to myself I'm going to watch the new spiderverse tomorrow evening!

I'm excited about this magnifying arm, it'll take some getting used to, but I think it'll be well worth it!

#gave the arm a test run using my smallest rings #it's funny though cause I can see all the tiny flecks of aluminum splintering and flying off everywhere lol #no wonder my hands look like they're covered in soot when I'm done chainmailing #I hope this device helps prevent me from straining my eyes so much #though I wonder if I'll be able to chainmail as long #I'll probably have to take more breaks #which is honestly for the best cause I'd forget otherwise lol

What if Leon wasn’t buff when he first gets his robot arm.

What if Leon was still lean and tiny when he lost his arm to a Kraang attack.

Leon’s fighting style suggest that he mostly favored speed over strength, quick multiply and precise small attack instead the one big strong finishing blow.

So it would be logical for him to keep his lean body rather than a big one that may slow him down significantly.

But what happened when speed wasn’t enough?

What happened when he wasn’t fast enough?

his body wasn't strong enough and so his arm was easily cut off.

They only have little resources on their hand so they decide to used robo-Raph’s hand to replace Leon’s, its heavy and unnatural, but at the moment that is all they have.

When he looked at the mirror at the day he recovered, he could see the metal arm that had replace his.

It almost comically big in his small shoulder.

Donnie work really hard to made the robot looks as close to their dear late brother.

And now it’s his

His speed had failed him and that cost him his arm

He looked at his reflection again and it all crash down.

It wasn’t enough he wasn’t enough, he isn’t fit to be a leader, his father is wrong he can’t do this.

But dad isn’t here anymore, Raph isn’t here anymore.

He’s the eldest now, he needs to be enough for them.

And so, he decided that if the rebellion wants to survive, he needs to change, for his brothers, for April, for the kid for his family.

Anyway my headcanon is that Leon is still a small and lean twink ass turtle when he lost his arm and replaced by Robo-Raph arm.

Seeing the significant difrence between him and Robo-Raph’s arm made him insecure (more than he already is) about his leadership skill (he viewed Raph as the better leader than him) and thus he decide to try to buff out his body in an attempt to somehow make the big robo arm belongs in his person, like he deserves to led the rebellion.

its not like he couldn’t have a big buff body, despite being a snapping turtle, Donnie had confirmed that Raph himself had his body looking so big because of his training and interest of being a wrestler, so its not that would be impossible for Leon to have them too.

though it would be difficult to keep a good diet in the middle of an apocalypse

IDEAL raph splinter scenario is splinter on his continuing quest to really genuinely reconnect w his sons going “I KNOW what’ll be so fun and cool, im just gonna take raphael out for a surprise day off playing hooky with dad :)” 

and its like there they both are trying SO HARD to have a fun time, but splinter is stressing bc it seems like raph isnt into anything he’s suggesting, and raph is stressing bc this whole outing Away From His Brothers got sprung on him without warning

its unstoppable “red why are u so worked up about this its not even a full day its a few hours” vs immovable “im their big brother i take care of them i should always be there if they need me, i dont GET to just check out without warning” and the implications therein

(tbh i feel like some of raphs trust issues extend into the realm of “i am so happy our dad is trying so hard and wants to hang out but i cant switch off the part of me thinking about how much it’s gonna hurt us when that stops, and i feel so guilty about that bc it’s not like it’s his fault either” and the complicated landscape of how just because you understand reasons it doesn’t mean you don’t deserve to be apologized to.
