Y'know this actually explains the existence of takoyaki (I'm not sure if I spelled that right -p-') in the Splatoon universe-

Octoling haircut + need for more soldiers = more Octarians

Octoling haircut + lack of a need for more soldiers = Takoyaki (bombs + food)

Octoling soldiers cut their tentacles so they don't get in the way of fighting, just like many human soldiers do irl. Without this need, they are able to grow longer and longer tentacles if they choose to, like Marina did.

Countryhumans but almost all of UK/Great Britain/British Empire's descendants are hybrids [50% human, 50% their national animal] except for Australia and his states who are all 100% human, and the family (+ friends who are in the know) have an inside joke that Britain fucked animals and that THAT'S why he's got so many hybrid descendants even tho that's very much NOT the case lmao
