Crab Spider in a Pitcher Plant

Anyone who knows how pitcher plants work might be surprised to see one take up temporary residence so close close to the point of no return, but really the spider is in no real or imaginary danger at all. It takes its ropes and rigging along everywhere it goes. It makes its living eating flower visitors, including bees and wasps, and right now, this plant is attracting huge numbers of Yellowjackets, Blackjackets and Flys. The food is delivering its self right to the spiders dinner table.

It's almost symbiotic since the plant gets the leftovers 😋
