Getting There:

I recommend sailing west from Lion Point Waypoint, but if this is your first trip to the island, you can also navigate along the southern and western coast from Camp Karka Waypoint. Be advised that this route is longer and more dangerous.

 The event is held on a very tall ledge. I will use a shadow portal to transport anyone lacking a skyscale from the cliff base to the event site.

Event Rules:

Keep it civil. If you want to fight, take it somewhere out of sight, out of earshot, and outside the event space. [This rule applies to both IC and OOC. Some events allow for mild IC confrontation, but this one does not.]

This is an exclusive event. If you do not meet the criteria, you cannot attend. We are not spectacles for your entertainment. [note - that's only an IC restriction, so there's nothing stopping your character from lying to get in. Additionally, OOC lurking is fine and does not break this rule – but indicate this with a balloon novelty or by staying off-group, please!]

star sign: i could only go to 2035 with the site i use, so i just used that as their birth year. but theoretically, they'd be a cancer sun, scorpio moon, and virgo rising.

personality type: enfp (the campaigner). very friendly, energetic, creative and innovative. an absolute nerd (taking after their dad; but with their mother's gentle heart)

height: 5’2

orientation: pansexual

nationality/ethnicity: japanese-american. james (father) is japanese-american as well, and catherine (mother) was japanese.

favorite fruit: pears

favorite season: late summer/early autumn. not too hot, not too cold.

favorite scent: snow and pine. when they first experienced winter outside of the vault, they found it very... interesting. it wasn't really matching what the books in the vault had said, but it was still interesting to see how the coldness of the air changed the smell of the landscape. but when they went through the operation anchorage simulation? felt and smelt a true, proper winter? it was their favorite thing they'd experienced (even if muddled by the everything else).

coffee, tea, or hot chocolate: they really enjoyed tea, though it's hard to come across in tact leaves (or even steepable bags) in the wasteland. harder yet to come across purified water, at least until after project purity is up. still, they miss the variable drink supply of the vault

average hours of sleep: somewhere between 4 and 7, though it depends really on what's going on. fresh out of the vault, they barely slept due to the stress of not knowing what was going on. even when simms gave them the key to the house in megaton, they were just. too stressed. the best sleep they had was honestly the two weeks they were out after project purity came online and knocked them out skdjdkdk.

dogs or cats: dogs. they haven't had the chance to meet a cat 😭 but even if they did, i imagine they'd be a dog person solely bc of dogmeat.

dream trip: i would say space but... they did that. and it was hell (shoutout mothership zeta; forever one of my top dlcs ever). they'd probably just like to go anywhere! there's a big world out there that they've been so sheltered from, and everything they've seen so far has been so fascinating.

number of blankets: in the vault, it was two. outside of the vault, it was one if they were lucky.

random fact: tomo has a ballpoint stick-and-poke tattoo that reads XXI : VI, the roman numerals for revelations 21:6. it's on their collarbone, above their heart, as a little homage to their mother.

1. at what age did you start RPing?

i started in (checks notes) september '22 ! so uhhh Recently!

i mean technically i very briefly did warrior cats rp in elementary school at recess but honestly, who didn't

12. what do you think about AUs?

i personally struggle with writing AUs because i'm a very canon-focused writer when it comes to fan content? like i get really stressed out by writing things that stray too far from a canon. i develop a lot of headcanons or will choose to diverge from canon out of spite for how the original writer treated the source material, but that's about the extent of how far i'll go. i do enjoy other people's AUs-- i just come across them very rarely since usually i stay away from fandom.

i'm just not a Fandom Guy, generally speaking... i have very little patience for the internet drama that comes with fandom spaces, and i think a lot of it gets very pointless very quickly.

13. what do you think about OCs?

OCs r so epic and awesome and fweaking cool. personally i'd struggle with them in a mfrp setting-- most of my muses (besides gabe) i've apped bc of other characters in the group i could see them building relationships with, and without those connections i would have a Really hard time getting off the ground. but i do write an OC in a different group who is native to the group's setting, and it's an absolute blast to work with the lore of that group and with the other people who write related OCs!!

(also before isola i was primarily a long-form writer so generally i don't use the term OC to refer to characters OTL)

tl;dr: respect the OC crew!! shoutouts

29. what are your honest thought about your muse’s canon?

man..... i will never be a lmk defender, i think the way the showrunners went about creating this show (initially? idk if it's stayed the same over time) was hugely disrespectful, the western fandom is very white, which a lot of the time ends up very disrespectful as well. (i remain grateful that the show doesn't have guanyin in it bc i would explode and die if i had to see white people talk about her the same way they talked about the rest of the cast, and i'm not even a buddhist.)

anyway. meta stuff aside, ultimately it's a kid's show, so some stuff doesn't hit, but whatever. i don't like a lot of season 1's monster of the week stuff while they're still trying to settle into a story. also a lot of the worldbuilding is lackluster, and i'm a huge freak for interesting worldbuilding (<- spoiled by friends at the table). i do like the characters though... i am not immune to mythology retellings.

i do think it's very fun to play with, especially considering the richness of tradition of jttw retellings... we have three separate jttw casts hanging out in here! i have my qualms with the show but i write macaque cos it's incredibly fun bouncing around with y'all.

30. what are your favorite RP tropes to play? (angst, hurt-comfort, etc…)

retired gods is hands down my favorite. like what happens when you're a god and you want to stop being a god... epic

i do indulge in hurt/comfort sometimes but i generally lean heavier on the comfort than the hurt. i have a hard time writing angst for a lot of complicated reasons

i like really meticulous worldbuilding, does that count as a trope

Not exactly a review of the new Trial of Roots, but I just wanted to thank you for taking this concern seriously.

A while ago there was this WCRP with a western setting, and when some indigenous people voiced their concerns about aspects of the RP, the admins dug their heels in and called any message about these concerns "harassment"

That event really repelled me away from the WCRP scene, until this RP was recommended. I was really nervous what happened then would happen again, and I've never been more happy to be proven wrong. Thank you for listening to us, and taking our concerns seriously.

Thank you, we want this blog and RP to be a space where people feel safe voicing their concerns and can be confident that they'll be heard. The mod team would much rather put the work in to fix our mistakes instead of doubling down, especially when it's something we weren't educated about before, and we're really appreciative that folks have been willing to speak up and help inform us.

~ | I've been performing characters in online spaces for over 10 years now, starting in 2013! | ~ ~ | Let's start with the most important piece of any RP related account, the timeline they live in: | ~ ~ | The Andreaplex | ~

~ | To try to explain the entirety of the Andreaplex is to try to explain the entire history of the world I guess. There just isn't enough time, so let's go over some bullet points of the basics:

Multiple Franchises are present in the same universe, each corelating with one of my largest interests. It's basically the crossover episode of the multiverse, except they don't interact very often.

Most of the locations and popular places regarding events in the series are placed in the region of the Pacific Northwest, mainly Oregon however as it's my own home state.

The Timeline is made up of 3 others, each with different franchises present within, Timeline A holding 'Real Life', Timeline B holding FNAF, MLP, TF2, and others, and Timeline C holding TTTE and Pokémon. This is an event that occurred in the past, though does still haunt the present in multiple ways, including the way the three merged in an event called 'The Collision'. Three Into One, A Grand New Creation.

A LOT has changed from the norms of the franchises present, such as my own headcanons, major events IN my own AU Headcanons {such as the North Western Railway closing and eventual relocation to Oregon, again it's wild}, and changes to different elements of the franchises present {such as the added element of spiritual and physical aging in ghosts and spirits who choose to remain down on Earth. Example of this can be if someone dies when they're 5, and choose to remain down on Earth for 5 years, they would be 10 by the time those 5 years passed. Physical aging can go however the spirit wishes to present themselves, unless they have a body that more tangible than their spirit.}.

There are sort of, omnipotent beings that can sometimes be at the head of things called 'Writers'. Mainly it's just me and my friends personifications of ourselves, though most have chosen to allow their characters free will. Speaking of which:

Each Character is of their own free will in this Timeline, disconnected from 'Strings' that once held them in control of the Writer. Andrea being a part of this world said it best, 'I've seen their perspective. And I'm going to fix this.'

There are characters of varying power levels within the world, each harnessing a different brand of it. Speaking of that though:

One of the most common groups of power is Magic, though it has several subvarients, such as 'Equestrian', 'The Knowledge of the Fourth', 'Gold Dust', 'Witchcraft', 'The Black Arts', and other such examples that exist. Anyone can harness some types of magic with enough training, while others are only genetic or given to a select few.

The biggest fact by far is, since Timeline A was 'Real Life', and merged into the Timeline that is The Andreaplex due to the collision, by proxy, Y O U are canon to the Andreaplex Y O U exist!

~ | Next, let's take a look at the colorful world of characters that make the world what it is, specifically the ones that have this account's login info, starting with the Brunette herself, | ~

~ | Andrea is a sort of, self insert in a sense. A being of practically unlimited power and energy due to one of the timelines merging to form her being one of a Writer {self insert moment i know}, as well as many other sources of power being pumped into her in the other 2 timelines that collided. And yet, she just owns a massive rail company, delivering promise to all in Oregon via the Pacific North Western Railroad Company. | ~ ~ | Andrea's presence is represented by a 🎄 on the top of posts. Her brackets of choice are { }, and preferred color is Red. | ~ ~ | A short list of key events, powers, tidbits of info, and drawbacks for her include: | ~

Andrea is 30 years old, born on April 30th. Due to timeframes getting absolutely FUCKED in the Collision, the year is uncertain but they put it down as 2003 as that's the one date that Andrea remembers as her birthday.

Andrea's 6 foot 1 inches.

Andrea is canonically a trans female. During her time she had to have breast reduction surgery due to their size being too painful in combo with Pectus Excavatum.

Andrea is pansexual, and happily married to Cassidy, told about below. Though in recent times the two have gone through some issues regarding their relationship due to both of them kinda not knowing how love works sometimes. They struggle but they're important to one another.

'Shores' was originally her selected last name {as she had several due to several of herself colliding into one another}, but eventually she settled on Bliss when adopting her second child.

Andrea's childhood {at least for her} is a blur. She doesn't remember much of it thanks to The Collision messing with things regarding her long term memory.

She holds near infinite amounts of power, being able to twist a timeline to nothing but red code if she wanted to, but after several events, have led her to not use it a lot, if even at all.

Most uses of her power is out of desperation, or extreme measures that would cause harm to those around/very close to her, such as family, and innocent bystanders.

Holding all of the cards at once for her is extremely overwhelming, and has resulted in her already present feelings of depression, anxiety, and extreme emotional tendencies to rise at extreme rates at times. Time has helped her slowly cope but it, it's a very slow process.

Andrea was gutted at one point by some very hostile robot bear spaghetti, a burnt clown, a burnt rabbit, and a burnt black bear, leaving the large scar on her torso. Like I said before, it's wild.

Andrea's only wish, if she were to get one that is guaranteed to come true, is to possibly experience what Death feels like, as she could never achieve it herself in any manner.

Andrea has adopted two children, ones you'll be seeing later in this thread.

Andrea's bond with her locomotives is like family, she grew up hearing their stories, and now she gets to make new ones with them. It's an honor to her.

Andrea's favorite season is Christmas. I mean, why else would the branding exist? Regardless, she loves the warmth, happiness, and above all, Hope that it gives the world. Hope for a brighter tomorrow. Hope that there is still good on this Earth. Hope that will last for eternity.

One of Andrea's first true friends in her younger days was the fourth in command of Mr. Kris Kringle himself, Vixen. The two are still best friends to this day, and often have one or the other come to their home to celebrate the holidays, at least up until Christmas Eve, then Vixen's got work. Maybe she'll pop in every now and again year round, but most of the time she appears during the holiday season.

Cassidy, much like her wife, is 30 years old, however she was born at some point during the mid 1970s, meeting her unfortunate death at around the age of 11. This is a reminder here that souls can age in this timeline, hence her appearances on her ref sheet including a teenage and child version.

Cassidy has genetic origins in Asia, specifically Japan and Korea. And yet her family chose to live in Utah. Curious. /lh

Cassidy stands at 6 foot 3 inches, around two inches taller than her wife.

One of her greatest hobbies is ironically dancing to her own music. She often pulls Andrea in for dances when she wants to, or when a situation is perfect for one.

As hinted at in the opener piece above, yes, this is THE Cassidy from the FNAF timeline, but my own rendition of her, as well as the timeline itself. Maybe one day I'll go into that can of worms.

Yes, Cassidy is dead. Not Andrea type dead no, she's just. Dead. She's a ghost. Can phase through walls, haunt things, possess her broken up Fredbear animatronic to scare people, that stuff.

Cassidy is a full on Lesbian and is currently in a loving marriage with Andrea, lasting from December 25th of 2021 { I believe the year's right can't remember exact dates } until now. Sure there's been scares and possibilities of divorce here and there, but hey when does that not happen.

Cassidy owns and manages 'Fredbear and Friend's', a restaurant literally right next door to the house she and Andrea own that both provides good old fashioned animatronic entertainment, but preserves vintage equipment and creating replicas of said equipment from Freddy Fazbear's Past, from Fredbear's all the way to the most recent restaurant, the Mega Pizzaplex. Each era of Freddy's has it's own gallery as well as subsections for different historical sections { such as an exhibit showcasing both the Security Breach and Ruin elements in full context }, so for example in one you can see Roxanne wolf, then walk to another and see the Toy Animatronics. This is ALSO another huge can of worms. Currently, this restaurant is Post-Ruin, so The Mimic's in a glass case, and the Ruined's are around on static display.

One other element about the Restaurant she has a more close connection with is 'Cassidy's Game'. Basically, take Ultimate Custom Night, and put every single animatronic from every single game in there { with a few exceptions ofc we ain't letting the mimic hunt people, that's just, no. }.

Cassidy is the backup vocalist { though does get some main vocalist chances } and lead bassist of 'The Missing Ones', an indie band comprised of the original five spirits involved in the Missing Children Incident back in 1985. They mostly do covers, but recently did a rock/metal cover of 'The Northwest Passage' sea shanty, heavily inspired by Johnathan Young's own cover. This was for a special celebration Andrea asked them to attend, as well as providing her own vocals as a special guest.

Cassidy's favorite holiday is, of course, Halloween. Her idol is Jack Skellington, for his expertise in scares and how to get them out of people in the best of ways.

Speaking of Halloween, Cassidy also goes a bit scare crazy around that time of year, due to the Mortal Plain being closest to the Spiritual Realms of Heaven and Hell, as well as Limbo and The Land Between. At this time of year, she opens the Restaurant later, as a sort of Haunted House experience, like that one FNAF Haunted House down in Vegas. Fun Fact I went to that. Was a WILD time. She also pops out and scares anyone she can for that sweet feeling of scaring someone.

Cassidy sort of dislikes the Christmas season for it's overwhelming forcing into your home type attitude. She wants to be spooky but then as soon as November comes around, Mariah Carey is free. She isn't a full on Grinch though. Yet. That arc's coming later. In the past when the two were just dating, Cassidy went out of her way to buy Andrea a full on sleigh for Christmas. Like. Full Sleigh. Full stop no additions. She just bought her a sleigh cause she noticed Andrea loved the season so much.

Mary's has a gunshot scar on her skin where her heart is, which she keeps hidden under her clothing as best as she can. It brings up bad memories of her former family.

Since you seem to be litigating rpf right now and since you’ve been around awhile, I wanted to ask you about how it’s evolved, if you haven’t already talked about that? I’ve been in fandom for maybe 15ish years, and I remember reading a lot of rpf back then (when rps seemed like more common terminology), and I feel like there were more defined lines between fans and the real people they wrote about. A lot of “if you got here by googling yourself, go back” disclaimers vs the current culture where some fans seem to show the people or ask them about fic and art and other fan works. It’s like there was a culture of secrecy before where there was less of a desire for the fanworks to ever reach their subjects, rpf or otherwise. I think most rpf writers/creators still feel that way, but I see so many awkward interview panels where actors/etc are being asked about fanfic. Is this in my head, or is the shift real?

Heh. Well, I was never a fan of any boy bands or the like until bitten by the BTS bug. I didn't even know who BSB and NSYNC were at the height of their popularity. So I did not always have a front-row seat to RPF evolution, but as far as I know, it went something like this in English-speaking spaces:

Prehistory: 1960s magazines were full of "Your night on a date with [member of the Monkees]" type stories. Music RPF was floating around in various forms for a long, long time, though the m/m band member/band member stuff tended to be extremely locked down, often with the names replaced.

From Eroica with Love shows how horny everybody was for Led Zeppelin back then. I can only presume there were doujinshi of the members in Japanese, but I'm not really familiar with what was going on over there.

Idols & Visual Kei: English-speaking fandom of Asian groups was into RPF by the early 00s and perhaps before. I was tangentially aware of this stuff from being in anime fandom but wasn't interested because I wasn't into most of the music itself. (Also, this was the era of limewire computer viruses or paying like $60 to get a Japanese album legally in the US.)

Johnny's Entertainment fandom is what I associate with this, circa 2001. On the visual kei side, people were shipping Malice Mizer around then.

Godawful 2003 vampire movie Moon Child, starring Gackt (of Malice Mizer and solo fame) and Hyde of L'Arc~en~Ciel (yes, with a fucking tilde) did make people ship their characters but certainly did not dissuade people from shipping the guys themselves.

Popslash - Ye olde slash fandom converts: On the very, very Western side of things, all of the oldschool slashers started catching the RPF bug for "popslash" in the late 90s/early 00s. Prior to this, RPF was a HARD NO for much of this crowd and continued to be seen as a dirty secret. This umbrella term was intended for specifically BSB, NSYNC, and a few other pop stars, not just fic of any pop act. I don't know if people were calling it "RPS". I think they were just calling it "popslash", but I wasn't on the mailing lists and things. This was a pre-LJ era with that older infrastructure.

LOTR - Ye olde slash fandom converts again: Those that didn't get sucked in by popslash fell to LotRiPS when the Lord of the Rings movies came out in the early 00s. RPS was still seen as a shocking dirty secret before the advent of this fandom. Afterwards... people still hated it, but they'd realized there was no way to fully keep it out of their spaces. This also coincided with the move from the bajillions of LOTR (non RPF) archives with picky rules and mailing lists ruled with an iron fist to LJ with people's personal blogs full of their ungovernable wrong opinions and terrible taste in fandoms on display for all the world to see.

There was so much structured behind the scenes material for the LOTR movies that it formed a kind of canon of its own along with the press tours, and the actors were cuddly with each other. I don't think this is easy to understand now. Even the Hobbit movies didn't have this vibe, and there's so much more behind the scenes info and so many more youtube clips for everything now that the effect is much diminished. At the time, LOTR felt like a new era in sff franchise media.

There was tons of any two gu... um... somewhat generic hot porn, so even if you didn't care much for RPF, it became an attractive fandom. At this point, people were calling it "RPS", not "RPF", despite there being some femslash and het in the same spaces as all the Viggo/Orlando. The domlijah tinhats were notorious and did go bother the actors, I think?

The height of this fandom coincided with the height of cringey photomanips and "Why are their necks broken?" art with actors' faces on it. Fanartist The Theban Band was well known, though more for FPF than RPF. It's just that when you use the actual actors' faces, things tend to get conflated. Now, whether people started bothering most of the actors at the time in the early 00s, I don't know. Fanlore suggests that misuse of The Theban Band's art was already well underway in 2004. It's also often this stuff that Graham Norton bothers actors with years later.

It's not so much that fandom or RPF fandom changed at this point as that new people were into RPF who hadn't been before and much more importantly, the internet was changing. The level of access to actors and the level of awareness of online fandoms was changing radically around here. It changed again with Twitter and so forth, but this was still a major point in internet history.

Rockfic: "Rockfic" as seen on the Rockfic archive got started at some point. They meant Metallica, Bon Jovi, etc. I mostly know about them because there was beef between them and some of the popslash and bandom people around the time OTW was starting. (Popslash and bandom but not rockfic communities being well represented among OTW founders.)

Bandom: "Bandom" is another umbrella term with a general sound but a specific meaning. It was used for Fall Out Boy, My Chemical Romance, Panic! at the Disco, and associated bands. This RPF fandom got big on LJ at the height of LJ fandom. It sucked in plenty of Western fandoms types who hadn't been into RPF before.

At the time, some of these bands and their associates weren't that famous, and they had personal Livejournals. It was not unusual for people peripherally involved with the actual people to be in the same spaces as the RPF. This was very much not appreciated by a lot of the fic authors. Band reactions seem to have varied between "yuck" and "Why doesn't anyone ship MEEEE? Don't you think I'M hot???" and other jokey lack of boundaries stuff.

A lot of the "Go away, X" disclaimers that sound like jokes are from this era and are due to some of these people actively going looking for the lulz.

Hockey - The final nail in the coffin for ye olde slash fandom: If the Popslash and LotRiPS waves didn't get people, Hockey did. After SGA, all the big slash writers that people follow from fandom to fandom seemed to be going to Hockey RPF.

Asianfanfics.com: Meanwhile, on the Asian media side of things, sites like Asianfanfics have been going strong for ages and are full of kpop rpf and the like.

Wattpad: Wattpad was the home of not only the Larries but of soooo much more Mary Sue/1D guy, and now Mary Sue/Jungkook.

How the boundaries are really depends on the era and the fandom.

The Rockfic archive used to make you pay a buck to sign up or something. It was extremely locked down, from what I remember, as you'd expect from a very old community writing m/m about macho bands.

The hockey people don't tend to be all up in players' faces because the players were mega, mega, mega famous long before the RPF fandom got big and because half the fandom doesn't even like sports: they're just there for the m/m AUs.

The Wattpad fandoms are a toxic hive of no boundaries and 13-year-olds posting their porn and too much personal info, but with fandoms as big as 1D or BTS, you can figure that plenty of individual people behave themselves.

Asking actors about fic in panels has become more common over the years, I think, though people have also learned to head it off better. I wouldn't say this is a RPF-specific phenomenon though.

A new search for rp friends!

I decided that it's high time I make a blog SPECIFICALLY for writing, since I do so much of it. It seems odd to have my fandom/regular blog or one of my aesthetic or resource blogs have RP searches run through it... and there hasn't been much success for me doing it that way either. I figure, heck, when I get the writing itch and decide to put together a blurb, be it fiction or nonfiction, I can slap it in this bad boy and label it as a sample or something. Aaaand.... I can also post about actual RPs I'm in, post searches.... you know. As you do. So anyways!! I'm Disco, 30, nb, and use they/them. I prefer writing semilit to lit, but am aware that sometimes plot doesn't call for massive amounts of text. I'd rather us move our story along in a way that feels good than get stuck in a loop of mirroring or dialogue just to fill up space. I'm fine with ghosting, so don't worry about that with me. I'll rp pretty much anywhere, but usually it's on discord. I enjoy both fandoms and originals. I'll play any gender/role for the most part, and am open to canons, ocs, you name it. I will only rp with other adults, and depending on the content of the RP, I may restrict to 25+, for my personal comfort. Sorry kiddos- get off my lawn!!!! The morning after the storm. (AJ Status 11/21/23)

(OOC NOTE: This is NOT a post AJ is making. He doesn't post everything he's doing or thinking, but I still want to share the the stuff that AJ does outside of Tumblr. Basically, this is like a "traditional" RP, where I talk about AJ in the third person, describing where he is, what he's feeling, etc. Feel free to join in if you'd like, but just note that it is NOT in the Tumblr post format I've been doing up until this point.)

AJ meandered through the woods aimlessly, after a long night of... meandering through the woods aimlessly. What else was he gonna do? He didn't really trust himself to talk to anyone, and for good reason, too. Last night he couldn't manage his anger properly, and he wound up in an argument with Max, Grace, and... Jesus, what was that other ghost's name? She was a complete stranger to him, but for some reason, she knew who he was. And she was so awful! What kind of grown-up picks a fight with... He reflexively clenched his fists before catching himself and relaxing again.

He decided that maybe he shouldn't keep walking around the woods like this. In a way he couldn't describe, somehow, the forest was making him feel worse. He flitted in and out of the physical realm in a way that might've looked like teleportation to the outside observer, but was really just him finding weird cosmic "shortcuts"-- a skill he had begun to hone recently-- to get to where he was going faster. Soon enough, he arrived at a tiny beach at the western edge of the island. It was a place he had known even while alive. It was so small and remote that most others hadn't found it, although he would find the occasional empty Capri-Sun or Subway wrapper on the ground, to his dismay. Still, it was his quiet spot, and he liked the solitude well enough.

AJ plopped down and sat cross-legged on the sand, feeling each grain rub against his fingers as he dragged them through. He'd been doing that sort of thing a lot in an effort to distract himself from feeling his left eye-- or, feeling the constantly bleeding socket where his left eye once was. It hurt like hell. To be fair, a lot of where his body hit the ground the hardest hurt, but nothing else quite compared to his lack of an eye. He picked his head up and used his one good eye to stare out at the water. A thick fog had rolled over Lake Michigan, on its way to the island AJ was so reluctant to call home. The water itself was... almost calm. Ripples ran through the lake, never quite getting big enough to count as waves, but still weirdly... tense. Come to think of it, the tide looked a bit low this morning. Some formerly-underwater snails, hiding in their shells, had even been exposed by it.

After just staring off into space for a moment, AJ pulled out his phone. He'd been blocking out the memory of exactly what had transpired yesterday night, but he knew it would only get worse if he didn't acknowledge it, although he was unsure of what "it" even was. He scrolled through the thread, not really reading much of the argument for fear of getting upset again. Soon, he found that a lot of the text in his messages turned red the longer the argument went on. He... didn't remember doing that. He looked up from his phone from a moment and shifted around to a different sitting position, a sense of unease washing over him. He kept scrolling, until one of the stranger's messages caught his eye.

"...and what was that you said earlier, encouraging barry swift to hurt someone unprovoked? take a good, long look at yourself."

AJ read it through a couple times, trying to register what she was saying here. It was as if his brain was actively refusing to process this information. This person... she was so fucking bitchy, but in this one, she... had a bit of a point. AJ had just impulsively sent that message, then tried to pass it off as a joke immediately afterward, both to Barry and to himself. Come to think of it, he'd been experiencing those kinds of impulses every once in a while ever since he died. He had tried to explain it away in his mind with various excuses. He was in pain. He was just joking. He didn't have a good emotional outlet. But recently, it had become more frequent. This wrath, this urge to hurt others. And after last night's outburst, it was more than just concerning.

It was starting to really, really scare him.
