#sorry it bothers me

Saw a post that argues that Bruce, Clark, Connor and Dick look enough alike to swap places and the only factor determining if people figure it out being their respective acting abilities. And my first thought was that that's just the Gosho boys.
It bothers me so much when people say characters are identical because of an artists range. Shinichi and Kaito are similar because their fathers are twins because its a plot point but Hakuba and Heiji look Nothing alike much less like Kai and Shin.
And Clark is tall and buff, his eyes are an unnatural inhuman blue behind his glasses and his face has the slightest twinge of uncanny valley to it. He has dimples when he smiles. Bruce is tall and larger but smaller than Clark, leaner. His hands are crooked and scarred. He is pale, his eyes a soft icy blue with dark hair with constant flyaway bits he can't control.
Conner looks like Clark at first glance but the nose is sharper, more curved. His eyes have the same unnatural blue sheen but they're more steel grey than pure blue. He's smaller than both Clark and Bruce, long spindley fingers and perfectly sculpted eyebrows. Dick is darker by far then all of them. He's conventionally handsome with a square jaw, award winning smile (with mostly fake teeth), bushy brows, left sided dimple. He is average height and lithe, he has the body of an acrobat not a brawler.
You put them next to each other and no one would say they look alike save Conner and Clark.

Oh look, it seems everyone has been opted into the unfortunate "experiment" now. For everyone who has been blissfully using the old UI up until now, welcome to hell :)
Do you not like hell? Do you want to leave and crawl back up into the sunlight of the old UI? Well, have I got a link for you! A beautiful tumblr user (who is not me) has gone and fixed things beautifully for you already: https://github.com/enchanted-sword/dashboard-unfucker
You will need to have Tampermonkey installed on your browser of choice, and once that's done, just go to the github link above, and peruse the readme to install. And voila! You have your old dash back!
The authors of XKit Rewritten said during the experiments that at the time, since this was an "experiment" they weren't going to implement anything to revert to the old UI (although who knows if they'll do it now). And the dashboard unfucker has worked beautifully enough for me to where I genuinely couldn't tell if they had ended the experiment or not.

aha i'm seeing it around again so let's please remember that the "there are two wolves inside you, one is evil, one is good" (and every single variation thereupon created for funny internet meme fandom reference purposes, thank you) is a textbook example of native fetishism and half-assed appropriation - it is a false "inuit legend" created by billy graham. yes, that billy graham. originally he said the story was inuit, then upon being called out in the canadian press, he changed it to a "cherokee legend" because he knew the cherokee wouldn't be able to do anything about it due to censorship of native americans in american media. "so what?? i'm not even using it in a way that references the original! it's just a funny phrase / a tiktok audio / etc!" - the reason i personally hate this fake legend so much is because it was invented to support christian beliefs - the idea of inner darkness and original sin versus inner goodness and morality is a christian one entirely, and not a part of inuit or cherokee beliefs. if you know any damn thing about native history both on and off turtle island you should be able to figure out why exactly it's fucking shitty to compare christian ideals to native legend in any way shape or form, or imply that the two are related somehow, or that natives have always believed in christian ideals pre-colonization, even. and by repeating it as a funny phrase it doesn't really actually take any power away from it like so many well meaning non natives seem to think it does. all it does is keep circulating a myth that further pushes real native cultures (cultures!!! never a monolith) out of society's view!!!

"Alastor is a villain because he chained poor Husk 🥺"
I think you all forget THIS is the Husk that made the deal with Alastor:
Tumblr media
The Husk that was so careless and selfish that was gambling SOULS, to the point he gambled his own soul away to save his powers.

this needs to be addressed because this annoyed me. i hate when people say: "classic horror films suck because they're not scary." i need to put this in perspective. let's take a silent horror film for one; nosferatu might not be frightening to modern watchers because it wasn't made for this generation or generations in the 80s either, so you won't find it scary because they're relying on tactics that will terrify the audiences who lived in the 20s. I mean they didn’t have talking in films yet so they had to rely on other things.
you also have to take in account that the internet did not exist to these people, so yea a lot of people today have seen some gory things and are desensitized to some of the horror shown in these classic horror films, that doesn't make it a bad horror film that you were not terrified by it. not to mention horror is subjective anyways.
even further back, house of the devil is 1000% not scary to anyone today, but in the 1890s all this technology advancing was terrifying to them. like the use of appearing and disappearing on screen is very simple to do nowadays and some people won't find it scary, but for people in that era it was fucking terrifying because this technology didn’t exist out in the public so freely.
the exorcist, I’ve come to seen that to modern day watchers don’t find it scary (I’m not saying everybody but there’s a new influx people who are saying this stuff and I mean a lot of people) , but they never had people from the 2000s-2020s in mind when they were making the film. they weren't saying "ooh we need to make sure it's scary to people in the future." no they knew their audiences in the 70s was either overly religious or not religious whatsoever and a movie using religion as a form of terror, got people in those seats.
people that say "horror movie classics are terrible because they're not scary," bother the hell out of me. horror is all about it’s context!
