So I've been playing the update for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet with the Blueberry Academy and some of the pokemon within the game have been giving me thoughts.

So we know that hisuian specific pokemon are supposed to be extinct. that was a whole thing yet you can find hisuian variants of pokemon within the terrarium of the BB academy. How would they be extinct if you can still find them?

So there's two types of extinct, there's extinct in the way you usually think of it where an animal or plant just no longer exists at all. There's no going back and in the pokemon world the only way to sort of get them back is through fossil restoration.

But there's also another type of extinct that is called "functional extinction." This is where the animals, or in this case pokemon, cannot contribute to the ecosystem due to population decrease or disruption in the gene flow.

My theory is that Hisuian pokemon are functionally extinct. In talking to Perrin she has a hisuian growlith and is looking for an ursaluna, but besides this very old Ursaluna you never actually see hisuian pokemon in the wild wild. The terrarium of BB academy is not the wilderness and they are not found anywhere in the wild in BD and SP either. This suggests that while still around they cannot survive in the wild alone anymore and instead those that remain are all in the care of humans in some shape or form. (I am not counting raid battles, those are more event type things and I do not think they should count)

Likely the clans of hisui are still around in some way, be it combined, split, or otherwise they likely are the ones that care for these hisuian pokemon most because something has changed drastically in the enviroment that makes it hostile to the continued survival of them.

For pokemon like oh, hisuian sneasle and sneasler that was likely the introduction of jotoan sneasle and wevile out competing their solitary counterparts. Same with a vast majority of the hisuan pokemon. They were likely out competed.

Now with pokemon such as wyrdeer and kleavor who have more specific evolutions you can likely find hisuian stantler and syther in the wild present day, but the methods of their evolution have been disturpted. Now Stantler needs to know physheild bash, master it, and use it agile style again and again to evolve. You could argue that with the loss of agile and strong style battle that explains why they can't evolve.

Except you can find fully evolved Wyrdeer in the wild in legends arceus. This suggests there was some other thing that was also disrupted in the enviroment that made it so they couldn't evolve. This could be a lack of specific nutrients, migratory paths disrupted, or any other number of things. While kleavor needs a specific ore. With a finite resource that likely wound up being over mined leaving little to none left.

Long story short it kind of bothered me that hisuian pokemon were considered extinct yet in later games you can still get them. But with what I've seen thus far it actually makes a lot of sense if rather than being extinct extinct they are instead functionally extinct. Thus have the capability to return to the wild down the line with extensive conservation efforts.

I really like the Amane and Kotoko duo, but I absolutely can't formulate the thought that has been spinning in my head since yesterday.

I would describe it probably as "like evolution in Pokemon", I guess??

A traumatized child without normal socialization, who was forced to learn the language of violence and has black-and-white thinking. And the one that traumatized children usually grow into if they are not helped.

Positive thoughts and possible thoughts about helping others, which, due to certain events in life, have been distorted, turning into a complete mess. Isolation from others, because everyone around is different from you, everyone around doesn't understand you, everyone around is against you and wants to harm you, so you have to be on your guard. You are alone in this world and you have nothing but your own faith.

Amane removes herself from everyone, having received a guilty verdict. Kotoko removes herself from everyone, having received an inno verdict. They both have common themes with other prisoners, but they cannot see this by building a barrier between themselves and others.

Suddenly, her eyes shot open. She inhaled sharply… she felt weirdly numb.

However, upon realizing she was miraculously breathing somehow, that she was alive, (well… sort of), she instantly sat up. The pain was gone completely, but her body continued to quiver. Shock, she assumed it was.

That was when she finally took in her surroundings. She was sitting on a couch, in a living room. It seemed vaguely familiar, but… where even was this?

Another realization hit.

She was alone.

“Spruh..- Spring?!” River shouted, short of breath. “Spring?! Springtrap!!”

Without warning, someone burst through a nearby door. No, two people. They were yelling. One looked to be an adult, maybe in his early 30s. He was wearing a nametag. River couldn’t read the words, but she was able to make out a logo for a local pizza joint.

And the other…

“Get a hold of yourself, kid!” he said, holding a hand out to her.

The girl, the kid—she screamed. She punched and kicked at the man, shedding tears she was embarrassed for him to have seen.

She took up a knife that was sitting on the nearby coffee table.

As quickly as it had been obtained, the blade made a thorough impact with the man’s liver.

He was silent. Save for a short gasp and a gulp in response to the rising of blood in his throat.

The girl removed the knife, and he bled out even quicker. He fell to his knees.

River watched as this girl that bared a horrifying resemblance to her slowly turned her head, then gazed at her over her shoulder.

Purple eyes.

She somehow got the feeling that this wasn’t how it went, if such a thing had even happened at all.

…No.

No, it was.

This was exactly how it went.

None of this was an accident. She intended to harm this man. She fantasized about this moment at one time.

She didn’t know why. But surely that was it.

She wanted this.

Why else would this twisted reflection pick up where she left off and continue to run the blade through his torso?

Why else would she be enjoying this so much?

She wanted this person dead. He deserved it.

She killed him.

And she would do it again.

in source i was human through and through, though i have strong connection to pokemon that lets me speak to them, i was raised by a zoroark had a zoura brother, and now that im here it made me realize i was a zoroark/zoura otherkin, I got alot of characteristics from ma and little brother. i was and still am just like them even if i didn't look the part and they loved me all the same.

my personality from source is very resentful to humans due to my adoptive father raising me with pokemon that had been mistreated by humans, due to my connection with pokemon it made me angry, and closed off from humans, though eventually i realize not all humans are like that and i tried to right myself. here im somewhat the same, just more antsy and anxiety filled, in source my father wasn't the best to me, i uh, had it pretty rough. he called me a freak without a human heart, manipulated me and, well...the whole nine yards, making me very untrusting of others, while also being a people pleaser to try and get people to like me and see im useful. i'm trying to get better with socializing and talking to humans, and trusting people, trying to let my guard down and stuff like that. but its hard chat. this got really long im sorry, ig anon makes it slightly better to talk about my struggles?

So you know famous Minecraft Youtuber Joe Garrett Aka Stampylonghead/Stampylongnose? (Oh dear god) Well, one fateful day, in the early 20’s, I had a flash of Nahs-Tchal-Giya, and through a very convoluted series of thoughts, had decided to check if Stampy had ever played Undertale in the past. (Jesus Christ) No. He hadn’t. However, the day I decided to check, was the day he, started streaming his very first playthrough. He was doing this, for his podcast channel with his good friend Ollie called The Bonus Points, right?

The streams were fun. He absolutely jived with the games sense of humor, had a real fun time, this is about Undertale right now. And I skim through their channel, The Bonus Points, real silly stuff you know, and I tune in to some of their ranking videos, and at the top is a game (here it comes) called Disco Elysium, right? I had NO idea what this game was, or was about, or anything, I just heard the name. Disco Elysium. Just no idea really, what could that be? And listening in passing conversation about ranking this hodgepodge of various completely unconnected games, Disco Elysium was solidly at the top tier. I just bought the game and played it a couple months after that. Due to circumstances I couldn’t play it immediately, off-grid, construction projects, and more.

And yeah the rest is history. On my like, third play through of the game now. Funnily enough, I have not watched The Bonus Points ranking video on it yet, hehehe. So yeah. Isn’t life just, funny sometimes? I think so. Fuhhhhh-knee. That’s what she used to say.
