I know Jason always calls Dick the "Golden child" and in comics tends to paint him as this unbeatable person in terms of morals/goodness in his head, which makes Jason feel inferior and not good enough..
but I think it'd be so fucking funny if instead of Jason thinking he'll never be as good as Dick, it's actually him just mocking his brother around others, because Jason 100% remembers Dick on multiple occasions offering his 12yo self weed while Bruce wasn't around, and he's the only sibling with the knowledge that Dick wasn't this "holier than thou, I make no mistakes and am perfect" child, which is why Jason keeps praising to the younger batfam members on how Dick is so perfect KNOWING that Dick was absolutely not that.

Prompt 168
So. Apparently halfas are like phoenixes or something, which Danny would’ve really liked to know.
See, usually with ghosts if they’re forced to retreat to their cores they reform as was, but apparently, since they’re still partially living, schrodinger's people and all that, halfas have to regrow their body from scratch. At least that’s what he’s understanding from Frostbite.
But how come he has to deal with it? It’s Dan’s fault for trying to pull such a stunt! Oh, it’s either him or Vlad? Well fuck, he might have calmed down and is going to therapy in both the living realm and the Zone, but he’s waaay not equipped to raise a child except for like, monetarily wise.
Well dammit, how long will this core incubation thing last, he has his new job in… let him check which offer he accepted again… He has his new job in Coast City that he needs to finish packing for and then all the rest of the stuff to do.
What do you mean it’ll take months?! He doesn’t have months?! Urgh, fine. At least being a mortician isn’t that exciting, nor dangerous. Just hand him Dan’s core and he’ll figure things out for the living side of things. He’s sure Tucker and Sam wouldn’t be against helping, if only to try and claim favorite aunt or uncle spots.

I think about this post on a near daily basis and the thing that really gets me about it is that NOT ONLY does your Kim Points(TM), but YOU CAN ONLY GET THIS DIALOGUE IF HE ALREADY FEELS POSITIVELY ABOUT YOU.
If your reputation with him is negative or zero, you get this instead:
HE WILL ONLY THINK ABOUT HARRY WRESTLING A BEAR IF HE LIKES HARRY. I AM NOT NORMAL ABOUT THIS.

but truly, the book ending with “snow lands on top” is so cold. because there were so many losses, so. many. losses. throughout that one summer.
while yes, it was mostly the tributes and people from the district that coryo never saw as a group above animals and his fellow mentors he could simply decide he didn’t care for that much anyways, the losses also included lucy gray and sejanus plinth.
the two people who had showed him more about living in the span of a few months. how lucy gray showed him goodness and vigor and strength and bringing joy to people’s lives. and how sejanus was literally the one who pulled him back from ending it all and brought him a sense of relief and light and familiarity to his despair in district 12.
but still, it didn’t matter that they were now both gone from the face of the earth. it didn’t matter that sejanus was lost to the hanging tree, and that lucy gray was lost in the woods and that their blood and whatever was left of them were on his hands. because at the end, snow got what he wanted either way.
others might have ended up buried under rubble, under panem’s dirt, or in the words of a mockingjay song, but that didn’t matter anymore. because here he was, in the strive to become something great, on the way to claim the old glory of his family name that he’d longed so much. finally at the height of his life, even if it was at the expense of others. snow lands on top.
