Don’t let the Israeli bot accounts spread misinformation! The ruling mentions nothing about Hamas. Hamas isn’t a state and wasn’t on trial or question during the ICJ court hearings. Israel wants to sway the narrative that it was, but it legally can’t since Israel occupies Gaza as an apartheid state. Hamas can’t be brought to a court of any kind because they’re not a STATE, meaning a Country.

Palestinians don’t have the right to self-determination and can’t even walk on the same fucking roads as the Settlers ffs.

Of course Israel will violate this order. They have no care for human rights, nor the hostages they refuse to accept back. They’d rather bomb indiscriminately with multi-ton warheads so they can “flatten Gaza” as they have repeatedly and publicly have said.

The thing I keep coming back to, with all the *gestures expansively* is that real life doesn't have peaceful epilogues.

Every single win has to be defended. Forever. I'm sorry. It sucks. The Nazis lost until they stopped losing. The US had abortion rights, and then 50 years later it didn't. Empires fall, and then they invade other countries again. Oppressive regimes are overthrown and replaced with other oppressive regimes. You will never finish the work etc etc etc. Which is why it's so fucking important to be able to acknowledge and celebrate progress, when it happens. The people who came before you didn't put in all that work for nothing, and you aren't, either. You can't save it all for the Ultimate Victory because there is never going to be an Ultimate Victory. There's no such thing as a time when everything is good, and ours shall not be the commune of Heaven.

#oh I should preface this with the fact that I had bariatric surgery. #so I literally cannot eat over a certain amount at a time #anywhore! #i just ate a portion of food that was the EXACT amount of food to make me feel full this is excellent #last night I accidentally ate like. probably a tablespoon too much #and I was crying on my bathroom floor for an hour :) and had to get into the bath to calm down/help with the tummy pain #but today I did better! and the best part is that this portion was HALF of a taco I made which means I can have the OTHER HALF later #small victory #I wonder what the rest of my stomach is up to #it’s definitely been disposed of bc I assume they’ve collected all the data they wanted within the past month #but my nephew asked where the rest of my stomach was and I was like huh. good question #my stuff
