Morax's Type
Tumblr media
NSFW Warning, Minors DNI.
You've been introduced to Zhongli by the Traveler, and instantly became friends. You feel like you've seen him before, or whatever. But each day you got closer, you started to notice marks around his body. What could this possibly mean?
Fem!Reader x Yan!Morax.
Tumblr media
Getting to know Zhongli was overall a great experience, you both had some things you shared in common. And becoming close friends with him didn't seem like a problem at all. He was a nice, well-spoken and dressed man who had common sense and manners. You really liked this about him, and found yourself enjoying his company every time you had it.
Each second, minute, hour, day, week, seemed to have passed so fast whenever you were with him, he always had something to tell you, and always had a topic that always piques your interests. He never had the mora to, bring you into fancy restaurants and operas as such. But he is a kind man, you supposed that you'd let this slide.
You two have been close for a long while, and it felt like you always had an unbreakable bond whenever you two were around each other. While eating at a cheap restaurant you and him had always go to, you noticed, a bit of his glove was loose. And you saw his hand-- A Golden color that faded into black colored hand was under his glove, you weren't sure because you only saw a glimpse of it. You thought it was his sleeves, but his sleeves didn't look like the pattern you saw of his hand earlier, since you only saw a bit of it.
You didn't bother to ask him about what you saw, you had tried convinced yourself it was his sleeve. Even though it obviously wasn't. You really weren't, so you had to investigate it further. And you had to do that while he was napping. But it was still early afternoon, and you were too scared to ask what was under Zhongli's glove, what if he hurt you? Having these thoughts were scary but you knew he wouldn't do that to you. But you were still scared, so you let yourself stay curious until nightfall.
"May I stay over your place for this night? I suppose you wouldn't mind having me as a guest in your rather ravishing home, wouldn't you? And if I can.. I may tell you anything you need and/or want to know, as long as it does not require me to.. Break a contract." You were surprised by his statement, it was as if he just read your mind..
"Oh, Sure! It's always lovely to have you around." And you gave him a nice soft smile. Giving in return, his warm, fuzzy, reassuring smile.
"This is very much appreciated, my greatest thanks to you." He then put your hands above his, and planted in a kiss. You knew he was a gentleman but, this really surprised you. He has done this some other times and yet, it still shocks you, turning you into a mannequin every other time he will do this. Making you feel like you're in a fantasy, or in cloud 9. Maybe even in Celestia.
"Ah! No problem at all!"
--
After making sure your house was neat and presentable, you finally went and jumped on your comfy bed. Thinking about how you would finally satisfy your curiosity-- or even find something out for the worse, better, or for you to find out a bigger secret. But it was also a big mistake of you to.
A few minutes later, Zhongli finally arrived. He looked handsome as usual, and you complimented him on that. He smiled and said you looked much better than he did. And that got you smiling and blushing a bit. You showed him into the kitchen, as you had prepared food for the both of you.
"This is a very nice gesture, you truly are worthy of being my-- friend. You certainly know how to please people." Looking at the food on the dining table, "Ah! You made my favorite, Slow-Cooked Bamboo Shoot Soup. You would make a beautiful partner."
You blushed when he finished his sentence, "It's no big deal, I just wanted to be kind and cook some food." You tried to keep calm but, something in you wants to give in to temptation. He always had his way with you, physically or verbally, and it had you melting for him. You obviously didn't show him how you truly felt, it would make the relationship and tension between you two more awkward. And you hated awkwardness.
You two sat down and ate the food you had prepared. Thinking of ways on how you would try and see what was going on in his hand that you saw much earlier before. It didn't seem easy for you this time, you knew Zhongli, and Zhongli knew you. But you really needed to see what was going on. You could ask the Traveler for help, or do it yourself. And as this saying goes; "Go big or go home", you chose to go big. Asking the Traveler for this would make it seem like you were crazy. Same scenario but with Zhongli himself. You seemed too focused on dinner so obviously, Zhongli had noticed.
"Haha, are you trying to plan something? You seem like you are. Or are you simply just thinking about anything? Care to share?" You couldn't share this to him, no you really couldn't. He was too nice of a man, what if he was a monster, what if he hurts you, what if he's not really Zhongli? You were too focused on thoughts and trying to figure out how to take a look at his hand that you didn't realize Zhongli calling out for you.
"I-I am so sorry. That was improper of me, I.. Did you say anything? I'm sorry I didn't hear you.." You looked down at your food, it looked halfway through to being finished. "I am sure you know that it is impolite to not look at another person's eye in a conversation, but is there anything wrong?" Zhongli looked at you worried, still giving you that warm soft smile. You couldn't help but feel like you're.. In love with him. But you remembered his marks. So you felt scared again, all these emotions at the same time made you pass out.
You woke up in your bedroom, nicely tucked in while Zhongli was hugging your waist. You sat up carefully, trying to think about the current situation and what happened earlier. Then you remembered, Zhongli's hands! You wanted to know what was going on with it, you looked at him, then his gloved hand. You grabbed his hand and placed it on your palm, slowly, but surely taking off his gloves. Seeing his golden arm fade into ink black with golden striped hands that had a yellow gold diamond slowly reveal itself. You were breathing really hard and heavy, you were almost halfway there when Zhongli moved. You suddenly had the thought of him hurting you, hating you, or any worse case scenario you could think of, so you just went back to sleep with him.
The next day, you couldn't find Zhongli in your room. You went downstairs and still didn't find him, you went outside your house to find him, he also wasn't there. So he most definitely left your house, "Were you looking for me? I was just making breakfast in your kitchen, I hope you do not mind me using up some of your things and ingredients. Come on, come with me to the kitchen. I'll show you what I've made for the both of us."
Going to your kitchen, you smelled the aroma of delicious food that he made, most of them being your favorite food that did not involve seafood, you knew he hated seafood and you giggled at him. He was so cute and so gentlemanly.. You couldn't help but want to kiss him right here, like he was your husband living in the same house with you. As if you two were a happy married couple, living your lives to the fullest. Except this was only what you felt, you had no clue whether Zhongli wanted to those things with you, or if you're stuck in a one-sided love relationship.
You wanted to confront him about your feelings of love towards him, but being scared of rejection you never did. You let your dreams and hopes be hopes and dreams. You knew it would be too late if you already gained up the courage to confess about your feelings towards him. Being afraid, you let yourself get hurt and drown in the harsh waves of the sea of fear.
A few days has passed since, you wanted to forget about your feelings about him and try to discover who he truly was or it or whatever. You had been a hopeless romantic ever since your teenage years, seeking for simple validation and kind hearted peoples love. You found one, but you're not sure if he liked you back. You wanted to forget that you had feelings for him, you wanted to have a normal friendship with him, where you didn't have any lovey-dovey feelings for him whatsoever. You loved the thought of Zhongli and you together, sadly you thought the universe rejected for this to come true.
Overtime, your feelings for him grew more than less, you didn't realize it yourself. As when you did, you decided to finally confess to him. On the Liyue bridge as the sun is setting, that would be the perfect place to confess to him, and a huge heartbreak if he rejects you. You told him to meet you at the Liyue bridge by 4pm. Today was the day you were going to change your life, to find out if Zhongli liked you back or your biggest regret in life.
--
You saw him. You saw.. Who you thought was Zhongli.. In your dreams. He looked like him, he was carrying someone, and that someone looked like.. You. He was carrying you out of battle, almost looking like they were being protected. But you didn't know if that was your blood or if it was another's. The hands of the man was just like Zhongli's..Was this a sign that you shouldn't confess? Or just a coincidence? Could he be hiding something? Was it just another weird dream? Did you think about Zhongli too much? You wanted to ask the traveler. Maybe he knew something you didn't. Something you needed to know. Something anyone would die for to find out.
You went to the location in your dream. It was grassy and it looked like it was on a mountain. I mean-- of course, mountains are grassy. But this one had a particular specialty to it. Like, it felt as if the air was calm, and the atmosphere was soothing. You suddenly feel a familiar presence coming, so you hid in some bushes near where you were previously at. You were waiting anxiously. Preparing and bracing yourself for whatever danger is lying ahead.
But it was.. Zhongli? He was carrying something, or someone. You were startled. Zhongli wouldn't dare hurt anyone, he was such a gentleman, he isn't that type of man, no. You were watching him while trembling as to what was going to happen next. And then-- he saw you in the bushes, he smiled at you and started walking towards you dropping the trash bag that left a trail of a human's blood. You decided to run away but he was much faster than you and caught you in no time. He tied you up, but didn't do anything else.
"Out of all the people I've thought caught me, you were here.. I expected another person and had intended of killing them off to easily not get caught by the Millelith. But it was only you." He gave you an evil grin, you looked into his eyes, they looked lovesick and so desperate. You were petrified, you didn't know what to do, but he starts using a small knife to bring your chin up to make you look directly at him. It's sharp edge teasing the skin of your throat, looking so dull yet looking like it's been through millions of blood shed and baths. He then starts kissing you, making out actually. You couldn't find yourself in the position to pull out of the kiss because.. He was actually really good. Not just really good— Amazing. It felt so good but so wrong, you chose to just succumb into his lust filled actions.
"I have always known you were right on me, so close to finding out that I was the Geo Archon, I remember you pulling my sleeves up.. Oh darling, you're just as adorable as it gets."
Tumblr media
Biting your lower lip to silence down your lewd noises, having a strong grip on Morax's broad shoulder's. You went up and down on his cock for what felt like ages, he had a strong firm hold on your waist and was pushing you to ride him until you cum. Hung on to every English word you could remember and make out in between the sobs, you tried to keep telling him you couldn't do it anymore, that it was too tiring and too much work to do. How it was hard and you were unable to do such a thing.
He wanted you to top him, but you weren't doing a great job at it. This was your first time, and you had no experience. The only time you've had the chance to is when you read books that had a scene where 2 or 3 characters had sex. And you made up those scenarios in your mind thinking; This is easy, I can definitely do this!-- You were horribly wrong. You didn't have much of the strength to keep on the continuation of riding him, and even you doing all this hasn't made you cum yet. You feel frustrated at the thought.
Bouncing and bouncing on Morax, you wanted to stop riding him already, you were in no state to do such a thing. "Don't silence yourself, I want to hear every single moan that escapes from your mouth." With that, Morax pushes you down a bit until you felt his tip hit your g-spot. You immediately threw your head back and let out a really loud and lewd moan. Ignoring the dead body of the man who had insulted your hair 3 days ago.
You didn't know if you liked this or not, knowing that "Zhongli" was actually "Morax" turned you on a lot. Getting fucked by Liyue's Archon however.. Made you feel like what you were doing was wrong. But the other part of you said this was a once in a lifetime opportunity (not) and that you should just enjoy what was happening because you were fucking the Morax. And out of all the tens of thousands of people in Liyue Harbor, he chose you to ride him.
Your tongue lolled out and cunt wide open for him while his giant dick is currently inside of it penetrating your walls in the best possible ways ever that you know you probably won't feel again anymore, you suppose you do know what to feel about having sex with Morax.

𝒾t would not be an over-exaggeration to say that there was no greater happiness at this moment than the way the innocent bright smiles of your grandchildren filled you up with warmth, even more so given the harbor’s chilly cold breezes of the night.
“yéye, nǎinai, bye bye!” the youthful cheers were just as energetic as ever despite the lateness of the night. the tiny mostly-humans waved at the both of you, some jumping and bouncing like overexcited hatchlings, others in a calmer manner reminiscent of your husband’s temperament.
“don’t run!” you reminded them as you waved back, a fond smile stretching your lips as you watched them walk further and further into the distance. the same expression made itself home on your beloved’s face, even as your not-so-small family turned around the corner, vanishing from view. a poignant silence blanketed the two of you, the solemn tune of tranquility momentarily accompanied by the squawks of the gulls passing overhead.
a gloved hand settled on the small of your back, and you inhaled deeply in pensiveness before following the guiding push. zhongli led you towards the calm docks, making sure to choose the flattest paths so your bad knees would have the least strain. as if that wasn’t considerate enough, you knew he was also attentively judging your condition from the way you gripped his arm to help you walk.
he was ever so silent and yet, you knew his head was full of many things. he seemed to be getting especially contemplative with each of the years that passed lately.
“….. liwen is turning out to be a wise mother,” he remarked after a few minutes of silence, “perhaps she had unconsciously learned the art of parenting from dealing with all of liwei’s sudden bursts of high energy ever since they were young, do you think?”
“perhaps… but i think she learned it from you,” you chuckled, “just like how she’d perfectly replicated your special slow-cooked bamboo shoots soup.”
“to be more specific, your slow-cooked bamboo shoots soup.”
“oh, i forgot about that,” you snickered, “’soup so good even rex lapis is hopelessly infatuated with it!’…. that past self of mine sure has great foresight, hm?”
“that you did, my dear,” zhongli chuckled, eyes twinkling just like that day, but this time with his convivial smile in full view. he had long since felt comfortable enough to bare himself in front of you, knowing that you would never turned up your nose against him across all of your lifetimes.
your conversation temporarily halted so you could focus on climbing up the small steps of stairs with zhongli’s help. a series of huffs and puffs later, you sighed deeply, one hand pressed onto your cheek as your husband paused in your walk just so you could take a little breather, “dear me…. i think for your next birthday i’ll have to spend it in a wheelchair.”
“then i shall be sure to speak to master zhang to get the commission started,” zhongli smiled, “may i propose a mechanism so it can only be pushed by someone who wields geo elemental energy?“
there he goes, flirting with you again.
“and whatever will i do when i need someone to help me push the wheelchair while you’re not around, hmm?“
“are you implying i will just abandon you at the side of the road? after all these years? you wound me, darling.”
“you’re so dramatic, i swear to rex lapis.”
eyes rolling, you shared a chuckle before continuing on your way back to your modest shared abode.
as you walked, golden shadows of the past clouded your eyes, the ghosts of the past playing moments remembered before the deserted streets, unconsciously creating an upward curl on the corners of your lips.
you saw the first time you walked back home, with the newborn twins tucked safely within yours and zhongli’s arms: with you panicking internally, because dear gods you were not ready for two babies, while zhongli merely gave you a comforting smile and tried to calm your nerves with his soothing reassurances. you saw the two of you chasing the two toddlers, nearly knocking over the pots of marigolds on your front porch: zhongli panicking because liwei’s shapeshifting had gone out of control and he was practically zooming about everywhere in his dragon form, while you couldn’t help but laugh at your husband’s attempts to lead him back home without attracting too many eyes. you saw the two of you seeing off the twins, the first day they insisted on going to school by themselves, because ‘all the big kids do it and we’re big kids!’: the both of you the most anxious you had ever been in your lives, despite knowing big brother xiao would be faithfully watching the little ones and would never allow any harm to befall them.
so many memories, so many years, so many birthdays... passed in the blink of an eye.
“hey, li…,“ you hummed and squeezed his arm with your wrinkled fingers, “…….. happy birthday. even if i won’t be here to say it next year, make sure to spend it with our family, okay?”
“yes, darling.”
“don’t get too lonely, okay? i’ll be back in your arms again before you know it.”
“…. i know, my dear.”
in actuality, he would gladly spend hundreds of birthdays without you, just to spend one birthday with you. but had he told you this, he had a feeling it would add a sad frown onto your lovely face, so he refrained. so instead, he planted a kiss onto your forehead, lined and creased with age and wisdom, with a fond whisper that carried the weight of his devotion.
“i know you always will.”

(small drabble before i sleep ;w; also it's been a while since I've posted lolol)
My Woman
Your shivering hands reached out for the door knob of your home. Smoke leaving your mouth as you walked in. Relief comforted your body as the warmth embraced you.
"Welcome home, darling." Your husband says, donning an apron. That's when your nose finally picked up a familiar scent, your lips tug in a smile. A smile he treasures.
"Here, let me." he says, as he takes of your coat, the fabric absorbing the melted snowflakes. He hangs it on the coat rack.
"Thank you" you say as your right feet goes behind the other, about to attempt to take your boots off. Just then, Zhongli kneels down to your surprise and grabs your left boot, waiting for you to raise it.
A giggle leaves your lips. This damned man, doesn't he know this gestures of his makes you fall for him more? It's bad for your heart.
"Famished?"
Feet free from its cage. His hands guiding you slowly, making sure you won't trip.
"Very"
He looks up with that devilish smile of his. You quite like the view up there, he reminded you of a cute schipperke.
Zhongli grabs your hand, his lips soft and smooth on your skin.
"Perfect. I made us dinner"
As he stood, you were reminded once more of how he's much taller than you. You can't help but wonder if you looked like a dog to him too, or a cat.... or a bunny.
Your trance ended as you were swiftly off the floor, your husband carrying you bridal style. A giggle leaves once more. Really, what is up with him today.
He brings the both of you in the dining room, sitting you down and moving your chair in for you.
Clearly, your nose didn't betrayed you as bowl of slow-cooked bamboo shoot soup is presented on your table. Zhongli watched you eat his dish in delight. He couldn't help but laugh at your pantomime attempt of expressing how good his dish was. You knew how much it was cooked with the utmost care and technique, using only the finest ingredients just for you. He loved doing things for you. And oh, how incredibly grateful you are for that.
"Finished, my dear?" you nod as you gulp the last sip of your water.
He needn't ask if you liked the soup. He knew you did. He knew, since he'll only give you the best and only the best.
"Come now," Zhongli stood from his chair and walked beside you. " — let's have you cleaned for bed."
The both of you sauntered in the bathroom, bathtub filled with water and bubbles foaming out. It smelled like lavender. Zhongli helping you take off your clothes ones more. Heat slowly rising on your cheeks. You've seen each other many times, but you can't seem to help it. Thankfully, the bubbles will hide it soon.
You dip your toe first in the bathtub, and surely enough, it was in the right temperature. Water spilled on the ceramic floor as the bathtub contained to people.
Zhongli sat in front of you, with his feet beside you, legs slightly bent as the bathtub was small for his size.
He placed the bathtub tray containing sweets, and pulled out a bottle of wine, and like the Zhongli you know, he rambles with insightful knowledge.
You exchange conversations while enjoying the desserts he prepared. Which then slowly becomes a water fight as you finish. The room filled with laughter and the floor becoming more wet as the water continues to splash. Closing your eyes and turning your head on the side in case a water splashes on your eyes. Words of conceding escapes your lips accompanied by laughter. The water on the tub slowly calms down.
Zhongli grabs your feet and placed it on his chest. Massaging it with the utmost care. You've been walking around Liyue all day to the point it was tingling.
He kisses the sole of your foot tenderly. "That tickles." a giggle, and a slight jerk on your foot.
He looks at you intensely, the flicker in his eyes didn't leave your notice. Your own foot was blocking the view of his lips, but you knew he was smiling behind it.
He kissed it once more.
"My woman."

kiss it better | genshin men x reader
i apologize for my Death. i hate school. anywho, three wheel spins and a generator brought you this!
prompt: burned tongues & feel better kisses <3
charas/content: zhongli, itto, gorou (this wheel definitely doesn't have an elemental bias..), gender neutral reader, author says you pray but it's a "thanks for the meal!" type deal, malewives (they all make you their special dish), ushi is a judgemental cow
Tumblr media
Zhongli:
"Okay, love. The soup is finally done," Zhongli says, spooning a couple of fresh ladles into the two bowls he had prepared, watching you hum while setting the table.
You gave him a small smile, knowing that his ever-so-delicous slow-cooked bamboo shoot soup would put both your mind as stomach at ease, as if he had somehow cooked his patience into the soup. Maybe that's why it took so long to cook. No matter, it would go down the same anyway.
"Thank you, dearest," you reply, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder, leaning up to press a small kiss to his cheek, the warmth making him smile. He placed the bowls down, both of you taking a seat next to eachother. Normally you would've sat across from each other, but your individal schedules had been clashing as of late, so this was one of the few times the two of you could spend together. After a small prayer. each of you pick up your spoons and gather some of the broth. Zhongli blew softly onto his, and you brought yours up to your tongue immediately.
"Mmph--!"
"Oh my, are you okay?" Zhongli asks, placing his soup back into his bowl, reaching over your your cheek as you're blowing softly between your lips.
"Haah... Forgot to blow... Hot soup..." You whined, sticking the tip of your now burned tongue out of your mouth, fanning it with your hand. Zhongli's eyes softened from worry to endearment, gently taking your cheek and pressing a small kiss to your mouth, pulling back with a thumb rubbing your cheek. He smiles softly, a smile that always makes you melt as he leans forward once more, this time to place a kiss on your forehead. "Do be more careful, love, won't you?"
"Um... Yes, sorry," you mumble, the burning on your tongue tansferring to your cheeks. He gave a small chuckle, returning to his soup. Every day, despite how much or little time you had together, he was reminded more and more of how much he loved you.
Tumblr media
Itto:
"Babe! I finished the food!" Itto yells, bounding to the couch with two plates in hand, grabbing your attention away from the small cow in your lap. He let out a moo, which in turn caused Itto to grin more.
"Of course I've got some for you too, buddy!" He says, taking a seat next to you, handing you a plate with a sandwich filled with steaming yakisoba. The noodles seemed to be ever-so-slightly singed, but that was just the he cooked sometimes, and it wasn't indeible, so it didn't matter too much.
"Itto, did you have the stove too hot again?" You inqure, oppening your sandwich to let the contents inside cool off. He waved his hand, a smirk now adorning his features. "A little, but it's fine! The hotter it is, the stronger you'll be against hot stuff, right? Anyway, let's eat!" He says, before taking a bite out of his
"aaaAAAAHHHH!!!"
And there it was. You and Ushi both looked at eachother with a blank stare as the Oni next to you fanned his tongue, small tears pricking his eyes as he panted and whimpered. "Too...! Hot...!"
Ushi mooed once more, the red-horned male looking at him with an expression of emarassment and betrayal, defending himself against the ox.
"Hey! I am still plenty strong! It just caught me off guard, that's all! I didn't expect it to be that hot..." He mumbled, looking down with a pout. You let out a small sigh, placing Ushi next to you, before going over to sit on Itto's lap, cupping his cheeks. He looked up at you with teary eyes, fully expecting to be reprimanded, so his eyes went as wide as saucers when you kissed him, your soft lips pressing against his own.
"It's okay, Itto. I think you're still plenty strong, but even strong people get hurt. But that's why I'm here, to take care of you when you're hurt," you say, gently rubbing circles into his cheeks while he looks up at you, his eyes lighting back up. You climbed off his lap, taking your own sandwich back and tearing off a piece to feed to Ushi, side-eyeing Itto as he grabbed his own.
"But if you burn yourself again, you're on your own."
He slowly lowered the sandwich.
Tumblr media
Gorou:
"Okay, here it is," Gorou said, placing down two bowls filled with his own special ramen, you pushing your documents to the side. Gorou had recently caught up with the new recruit's training, so the two of you had a calm night ahead of you.
He had taken the opportuniuty to cook for the both of you, something he hadn't done in a while. You didn't complain, wanting to look over a couple of files you had to turn in. You looked down at the bowls, a smile immediately adorning your face at the little puppy-like details in the ramen, from the paw-pring egg to the little Shiba decoration.
"I hope it's still good, it's been a while since I made it..." He said, his ears slightly drooping. You waved your hand, picking up your chopsticks and placing your hands together.
He follows your lead, the two of you giving a small prayer before preparing to eat. Luckily for you, (and unluckily for him,) Gorou's hands were just a bit faster, and you heard a small yelp, whimper, and tink! of a pair of chopsticks hitting a bowl, causing you to look over at him. His cheeks were slightly red and his ears were flat, his tongue sticking out and his tail curled up.
"Ow... I should've waited longer for them to cool off..." He whimpered, small tears coming to his eyes, him trying his best to blink them back. You gave him a small frown, cooing softly to him as you took his cheeks, turning him to face you.
"Oh, Gorou, it's okay... Does it hurt that badly?" You asking, taking note of the small tears in his eyes. You looked at him a bit longer, before deciding to lean forward, pressing a kiss to his lips, making his ears perk up in alert and his eyes widen.
As you pullled back, you noticed the start of his tail wagging, and his blush as he looked at you, reaching for your wrists.
"Does it still hurt, sweetheart?"
"N...No...."
"That's good. Let's give it a bit longet to cool off, okay?" You ask, reaching up to rub his ears while he was off guard, feeling him lean into your touch, nodding softly.
"Yeah... We can wait.." He mumbled, relishing in the warmth of your hand. Maybe the embarassment of burning his tongue wasn't as bad as his comfort?

Birthday
Zhongli has a happy birthday~
For a man who has lived many years and has many more still to live, birthdays are very trivial. They got old (pun unintended) after the first millennium or so, and owing to the fact that Zhongli’s birthday falls on the very last day of the standard calendar year, he merely sees the day as the apex point of the world, the final page in a chapter that is on the verge of being turned to start anew and afresh.
But now that he has a lover, his first lover in centuries, a lover who adores and cherishes him more than anything, this day will now be very different. Not that he knows it just yet.
His birthday begins like any other - wait, no it doesn’t. You’re there to greet him when he wakes as usual, this time smiling, grinning, beaming more than normal. With the most contagious cheer you wish him a happy birthday, and Zhongli beams back and pulls you in for a kiss. And another. And another. (Almost twenty minutes go by like this - he can’t get enough of you.)
You know Zhongli doesn’t want for much; now that he lives as a mortal man, he takes pleasure in the simple little things in life. That doesn’t stop you from making today as special as possible, though - after a hearty breakfast of the things he likes, you present him with his gifts. A special tea set, and some new calligraphy brushes, all carefully crafted by traditional artisanal specialists. It’s only morning, but Zhongli’s heart is already so full. Of happiness, love, adoration.
For lunch, you make him some bamboo shoot soup, slow-cooked just the way he’d taught you, along with some oncidium tofu and also some traditional longevity noodles, as is customary to be eaten on birthdays in Liyue.
“Long noodles?” he asks, chuckling softly. “Are we wishing for a long life for myself, my love?”
“Hey, tradition is tradition!” you return cheekily. Zhongli cannot argue against that, so he eats the noodles - who knows, perhaps it has added an extra hundred years to his lifespan. Ah, and the bamboo shoot soup is delightful, and he tells you so with great zest. He cannot be more proud.
The weather is just right, and so in the afternoon the two of you go on a little stroll. It takes everything in you to not just burst out saying, “Today is my husbands birthday!” and watch everyone on the street turn to wish him. Instead, you settle for wearing a perpetual giddy grin, nuzzling Zhongli’s arm as you walk. Zhongli, amused and endeared, cannot help but beam back. People on the street see a couple utterly enamored with each other.
The day is far from over - when evening falls, you take him to Liuli Pavilion and cover his eyes with your hands. You lead him into one of the private dining chambers, and he, nearly finding himself quivering in anticipation, follows your guidance until he is made to stand still. He can hear the excited, short breaths of multiple people waiting to surprise him, but before he can ponder over who they must be, you lift your hands from his eyes and he sees for himself.
Madam Ping, Tartaglia, Director Hu and a few other coworkers from the funeral parlor, as well as his scholar friend from Sumeru sit at the table - a small gathering to be sure, but a most jovial one.
You all laugh and joke and reminisce and dine, a spread of the choicest Liyue delicacies gracing the table. There has been much to see and experience this past year, and more still to come. Zhongli is the farthest being from loneliness in this moment, and everyone at the table registers just how fondly he gazes at you. After what feels like hours of conversation, the companions hug Zhongli and take their leave, satisfied moods and bellies all around.
The night falls deeper, and the moon rises higher. The dawn of a new year approaches, and the two of you sit, side by side, enjoying the view from your vantage point up in Chihu Rock. He draws you close, letting your head rest on his chest, and he etches this image into his memory with gold embossing.
If Zhongli thought the day’s celebrations had ceased, he is immediately proven wrong when you look up at him, smiling, pulling out a bottle of osmanthus wine and two small cups from your bag. His eyes widen slightly.
You pour him a cup and then share a kiss with him, tender, delicate, yearning. He loves you, he knows this, but he doesn’t know the extent to which he loves you; it’s unquantifiable. Not even all the Mora he’s created can measure its worth.
Pulling away from the kiss, you cup his cheek. “Happy birthday, my love.”
Yes, Zhongli had never been one to celebrate his birthday - but now, with you around, things are different.
He takes a sip of the wine, tilts his head skyward, and closes his eyes with a contented smile gracing his lips. Yes, this is a happy birthday indeed.

So I thought, why not make my own? So here it is, and I hope y'all enjoy it. I had sm fun writing it, too!!
Tumblr media
It was a beautiful fall morning. Different shades of red, orange, yellow, and brown flew through the air. A beautiful ex-archon named Zhongli walked around—taking in every color he could see and enjoying nature to its fullest. A ginger man, Childe, walked up to him, poking him lightly. He looked over at the ginger man and then back to the world.
"Good morning."
Childe said, his voice intense.
"Good morning to you, too."
Zhongli replied. His voice was as smooth as silk. They both stood there for a few minutes, looking at the beauty of nature.
"I'm glad I ran into you; I wanted to talk to you about something."
Childe said.
"What is it?"
"Well, I was wondering if you want to go to dinner with me?"
"Sure, I'd love to!"
Zhongli said, giving Childe a small smile. The ginger man smiled and said,
"Great! I'll see you at Third-Round Knockout. 8 pm!"
"Sounds good!"
"See you later!"
Childe smiled and proceeded to walk on. Zhongli watched him walk away, admiring his figure. Then he turned around and started walking towards Third-Round Knockout.
"Third-Round Knockout,"
"That's where I'll be meeting him."
He headed back home to prepare for meeting up with Childe, losing track of the time he had to rush. He wore a loose blouse, and his hair was in a ponytail. Running out the door, he grabbed his coat and hurried to the restaurant. By the time Zhongli got there, he was ten minutes late. Zhongli walked into the restaurant and was greeted by the hostess.
"Hello, may I help you?"
"Yes, I think there's a reservation under Tartaglia."
"For two?"
"Yes"
"Alright, right this way, sir."
She smiled back and led him to the table Childe was sitting at.
"Childe, I'm here!"
He said, smiling at him, slightly out of breath.
"Zhongli, I'm so glad you came!"
Once they got settled, a waiter came over and introduced himself.
"Hi, I'm Alex, and I'll be serving you today. Can I get you started with any drinks?"
"Oh, yes, please."
Childe said
"We'll start with some Osmanthus Wine and bring the whole bottle."
"Alright. I'll be back with your wine."
Alex said, going to get the bottle of wine.
"Whatchu thinking of getting to eat?"
Childe asked the brunette
"Hmmm... I might get the Slow-Cooked Bamboo Shoot Soup, which looks appetizing. And you?"
"I'm going to get the Prize Catch. It looks delicious."
After dealing with a previous customer, Alex headed to their table with a bottle of wine and two glasses. Setting the wine bottle down with two glasses, he took out his pad to place their order.
"Have you guys decided on what you want to get?"
Alex asked them. Childe responded first with his order.
"Let me have the prize catch."
"And for you, sir?"
Alex asked Zhongli, who was still thinking.
"Hmmm, I'll have the slow-cooked bamboo shoot soup."
"Alright, I'll return with your order in a minute."
Alex said, leaving them alone again. Childe poured the wine into each cup.
"I don't drink."
Zhongli said kindly. If Zhongli didn't drink, it would ruin his plans. He had to find a way to convince him.
"I did get your favorite wine, so let's loosen up a bit."
Not wanting to argue, Zhongli eventually agreed and took the filled glass. Childe watched closely as Zhongli pressed the glass to his lips, taking a sip. He savored the taste as he drank it all down in one go. It was delicious.
"Childe, this is exquisite!”
The ginger gave the brunette a warm smile.
"Glad you like it! Here, have more!"
He poured more into Zhongli's glass, trying to fill him up with alcohol. After some talking and tiny drinks here and there, Alex came back with the food.
"Here you go."
He said, setting down the bamboo shoot soup and the prize catch.
"Enjoy!"
"Thank you."
Zhongli said, picking up the chopsticks and digging into the dish.
"This is good."
"Mmhmm!"
Childe said, chewing his food. He washed it down with some whine and poured Zhongli another glass. He could tell Zhongli was a little tipsy when he saw his hands shaky when he held the chopsticks
"You're not drinking enough. You should have more."
Childe told him. Zhongli looked at him, wondering if he was serious.
"Well..."
"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."
Childe assured him.
"That's not where I was going with that."
Zhongli said.
"Well, all I'm saying is that I think you need to have more than just one glass."
"But I already had three glasses."
"It doesn't matter, you need to have more."
"I don't think that's necessary."
"Zhongli, you can't deny how much you've enjoyed this meal. So I think you need to have more."
"Fine, I will have another glass."
"Good!"
Childe said, pouring Zhongli another glass.
"Now, eat up! I'm sure you're hungry after all that drinking."
Zhongli ate his food and drank more wine. After finishing his meal, he felt a little dizzy.
"I think I need to sit down for a moment."
Zhongli stumbled to the chair behind him and sat down heavily. Childe followed him and sat next to him.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"You sure? You seem a little dizzy."
"No, I'm fine. I just got a little drunk."
"Oh."
"I'm fine."
Zhongli said, leaning back in the chair.
"You know what?"
"What?"
Childe asked, looking at him curiously.
"I think you're right."
"About what?" l
"About me needing to have more."
"Huh?"
"I think I need more than one glass of wine."
"You do?"
"Yeah."
"Really?"
"Yeah."
"Well then, why don't we try that now?"
"Okay."
Childe was surprised at Zhongli's response, but wasn't going to stop him.
"How about we start with a shot of tequila?"
"Sounds good to me."
"Alright, let's go."
Zhongli stood up slowly, feeling a little light-headed.
"No, no, no, you stay right here."
Childe said, gently placing him back in his seat.
"I'll go get the drinks and be right back."
Childe said, getting up himself.
This was the finishing shot, and he'll finally have everything all set in motion. He grabbed the two tequilas from the bar and walked back over. Without anyone noticing, he slipped in some GHB powder and mixed it up in the drink. When he returned, he handed Zhongli the drink and sat back down.
"Here you go."
"Thanks."
Zhongli took the drink and quickly downed it. He coughed a little and put his hand over his mouth.
"That was strong."
"That's the shot!"
Childe said, handing Zhongli another one.
"Come on, you can do better than that."
Zhongli downed the second shot and coughed again.
"Wow, that was even stronger."
"There you go, you did great."
Childe said, patting Zhongli on the back.
"I think we should call it a night."
"Yeah, I think so too."
"Do you want to go home?"
"Sure, let's go."
Zhongli stood up and swayed a little bit when he tried to walk. He was drunk, super drunk. Childe placed Zhongli's arm around his neck and started to walk out, supporting Zhongli.
"We'll go to my place."
Zhongli nodded. He could've sworn he saw Childe grin. He had an evil grin, but maybe he was just too drunk. They left the restaurant and made their way to Childe's house.
"Let's get you inside."
Childe said as he put in the code and opened the door. Once inside, he closed the door and placed Zhongli on his bed softly. Childe removed Zhongli's shoes and his own and went to the other room. Zhongli was starting to feel the effects of the drug already. His head was spinning, his heart was pounding, and his body was tingling. The feeling of the drug coursing through his veins was making him feel hot. He was starting to sweat. He was too weak to remove his clothes, his breathing was unsteady, and he felt himself getting warmer and warmer. Hotter and hotter, something was building up inside him that needed to be released. Childe could hear Zhongli's small moans from the other room and feel himself growing hard.
He was going to fuck this man. He had wanted to for so long. He was going to make Zhongli cum like he never had before. It was time to take control. He quietly walked into the bedroom and watched Zhongli. His eyes were closed, his chest was rising and falling rapidly, and his legs were spread open. His hands rested on his thighs, and his fingers were slightly curled. He was lying on his side, still wearing his shirt and pants. His legs were spread apart, and Childe could see his cock straining against his pants. He looked so sexy. He couldn't believe how turned on he was by watching Zhongli drunk and drugged. It was turning him on so much that he thought he might cum right there. But he had to control himself. He had to wait until Zhongli was entirely under his control. He had to make sure he was utterly helpless. And he knew exactly how to do it.
He slowly moved closer to Zhongli, standing behind him. He reached out and grabbed Zhongli's shirt and pulled it off his shoulders, exposing his naked chest. He ran his hand down Zhongli's chest, feeling the soft skin, and then moved lower, running his hand across Zhongli's stomach and down to his crotch. Zhongli gasped at the touch of Childe's hand on his crotch. He moaned and arched his hips forward, trying to get Childe's hand on his cock. Childe ignored his moans and continued to explore Zhongli's body.
He ran his hand over Zhongli's nipples and felt them grow hard. He pinched them lightly, causing Zhongli to gasp and arch his back even more. He moved his hand down Zhongli's belly and to his cock. He stroked Zhongli's cock, feeling it grow harder and thicker in his hand. Zhongli was groaning and thrusting his hips into Childe's hand. Childe smiled. He knew he had him now. He was going to have his way with this man. He would use him however he wanted. He would make him beg for mercy. He would make him suck his cock. He would make him cum all over himself. He would make Zhongli scream in pleasure.
He was going to give Zhongli everything he had ever dreamed about. Zhongli was so horny. And Childe had been dreaming about Zhongli for a very long time. He had been thinking about him for so long, fantasizing about him. He was jacking off to all the naughty things he wanted to do to Zhongli. And now, he is finally here. The once calm, reserved, and polite man, who holds an air of nostalgia, is right before him, needy and whining for his cock.
Zhongli was so close to losing control. He was so close to begging Childe to fuck him. He was so close to begging Childe to fill him with his thick cock. He was so close to cumming all over himself. He needed Childe's cock. He wanted it so badly. He needed it inside him, in his mouth. He needed it everywhere and needed it now so bad.
He needed to be fucked, used, dominated, owned. And he was going to get what he wanted. Childe was going to fuck him. He was going to fuck him until he came. And when he did, he would fill Zhongli's tight little hole with his cum. Childe took his cock in his hand and rubbed it against Zhongli's smooth ass. Zhongli moaned as Childe's cock slid over his skin. He pushed his ass back against Childe's cock, wanting it inside.
"Please," he begged.
"Please fuck me."
Childe laughed.
"You want my cock?"
He asked.
"You want my big, fat cock? You want to feel my cock slide into your tight little ass?"
Zhongli nodded frantically.
"Say it. Tell me what you want."
Zhongli couldn't believe that he was doing this. He was begging Childe to fuck him. He was begging to be fucked by Childe's colossal cock.
"I want your cock," he said.
"I want you to fuck me, use me, dominate me. Please fuck me!"
Childe smiled. He liked hearing Zhongli talk dirty. It made him even hornier.
"Tell me how much you want it," he demanded.
"Tell me how much you want my cock."
Zhongli was moaning. He was so horny. So fucking horny. He needed to be fucked. He needed to be fucked hard.
"I want your cock. I want it in my ass. I want you to fuck me. I want you to fuck me like you own me."
Zhongli was so turned on that he didn't care if anyone heard him. He didn't care if anyone saw him. He just needed Childe's cock. He needed it so badly. He needed it in his ass.
"Please, Childe! I want you to fill me up, use me as your fuck toy. Please, I want it so fucking badly!"
Zhongli was practically screaming now. He couldn't believe that he was saying these things. He was telling Childe precisely what he wanted. And Childe loved it. He loved hearing Zhongli beg. He loved hearing Zhongli beg to be fucked. He loved knowing that Zhongli was a total slut, a submissive slut. He loved that Zhongli was his. He loved that he could use Zhongli any way he wanted. And Zhongli knew that. He knew that he was completely at Childe's mercy. He knew he had to do whatever Childe told him to do.
"Well, you're not getting it. Not yet."
Zhongli almost burst into tears with how sexually frustrated he was.
"But I will let you have something else instead."
Childe said, pulling Zhongli's head up by the hair.
"I'm going to fuck your pretty little face. I'm going to fuck your throat until you choke on my cock. I'm going to make you gag on my cock. Then I'm going to make you lick my balls clean."
Zhongli's eyes went wide. He couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"That's right. You don't get to have my cock in your ass. But I'll let you have my cum in your mouth. I'll give you my load, which will go down your throat, choking on my cum."
"Now turn around and face me."
Childe said as he slapped Zhongli's ass. Zhongli did as he was told. He turned around and faced Childe. Childe smacked Zhongli's ass again.
"Open your mouth."
Childe ordered. Zhongli obeyed immediately. Childe grabbed Zhongli's hair and forced his cock into Zhongli's mouth. Zhongli gagged and tried to pull away. Childe held his head still and pushed his cock deeper into Zhongli's mouth. Childe started thrusting his cock in and out of Zhongli's mouth.
"Suck my cock. Suck my cock like a good little slut. That's right. You're my little cum slut!"
Zhongli gagged again and again. Childe kept fucking Zhongli's mouth. Zhongli's saliva was dripping off his chin. His eyes were watering. The taste of Childe's pre-cum was all over Zhongli's tongue. Zhongli felt Childe's cock twitch in his mouth. He knew that Childe was about to cum. And he knew he would swallow every drop of Childe's cum. Zhongli looked up at Childe. Childe was about to cum. And Zhongli wanted it. He wanted to taste Childe's cum. He tried to feel Childe's cum in his mouth. Childe stared back at him. He smiled. Childe came hard. He shot his load straight into Zhongli's throat. Zhongli choked and gagged. But he swallowed every last drop. When Childe finished cumming, he pulled his cock out of Zhongli's mouth. Zhongli gasped for air. He coughed and sputtered. He could taste Childe's cum in his mouth. It tasted so good. Childe laughed.
"Good boy. Now clean my cock."
Childe said. Zhongli eagerly complied. He cleaned Childe's cock with his tongue. He sucked Childe's cock clean. Zhongli felt like a complete whore. He was a cum slut. He was a cock sucker. He was a cum enslaved person. He was nothing more than a worthless cumslut. Zhongli was so happy. He didn't care anymore. He loved the taste of Childe's cum.
"Now, get on your hands and knees."
Childe commanded. Zhongli got on his knees. He looked up at Childe. Childe smiled. He loved that Zhongli belonged to him. Childe grabbed Zhongli's hips and shoved his cock deep inside Zhongli's ass. Zhongli let out a loud cry. He felt the head of Childe's cock pop into his ass. He was so full. Childe grabbed Zhongli's hips and started thrusting in and out of Zhongli's ass. Zhongli moaned loudly. He couldn't help himself. He loved being used. He loved being fucked. He loved feeling Childe's cock in his ass.
Childe thrust harder and faster. He fucked Zhongli's ass like a jackhammer. Zhongli cried out with each thrust.
"You like this? Huh? You like my cock in your ass?"
Childe asked. Childe slapped Zhongli's ass.
"Yes! Yes! Please! Fuck me!"
Zhongli begged.
"Please fuck me harder! Fuck me harder!"
Zhongli cried. Childe slapped Zhongli's ass again.
"I'm going to cum!"
Childe grunted, and Zhongli could tell by Childe's voice that he was close. He felt Childe's cock swell. He felt Childe's cock throb. He felt Childe's cock pulse. Then, Childe erupted inside Zhongli's ass. He came hard. He came so much that he filled Zhongli's ass with his cum. He came so much that it leaked out around Childe's cock. Childe pulled out of Zhongli's ass. Zhongli dropped to the floor when Childe got up. He searched through his drawers and pulled out what looked like a tail. He walked back over to Zhongli with it in hand.
"Prostrate yourself."
Childe commanded. Zhongli did as he was told. He prostrated himself before Childe. Childe walked behind Zhongli. He wiggled the anal plug inside Zhongli to prevent any more cum leaking out. It had to stay in there. Zhongli cried out a little.
"You're not to take that out without my permission. If you do so, you will get punished."
Childe said, his voice strong and deep. He walked over to the bathing room and turned on the water. Once the water was warm enough, he returned and picked up Zhongli, carrying him to the bath.
"Let's get you washed up, okay?"
Childe said, his tone softening a bit.
"Thank you, Master."
Zhongli replied.
"You're welcome."
Childe said. Zhongli lay down in the bath. The water was warm and soothing. He closed his eyes and relaxed. Childe gently washed him, which made him so comfortable to the point where he fell asleep in the tub. Childe smirked and kissed the brunette's forehead. He quickly cleaned himself up before dressing the two for bed. He put Zhongli's clothes on Zhongli's body and dressed himself up in his clothes. He then led Zhongli to his bedroom. He lay Zhongli down on the bed and then crawled into bed next to Zhongli. He wrapped his arms around Zhongli and hugged him tightly.
"Good night, Zhongli."
Childe said. Zhongli smiled sleepily at him.
"Good night, Master."
Zhongli replied. They both drifted off to sleep.

Zhongli x Reader (Osmanthus Wine)
Tumblr media
● ————————— GENSHIN
→ ABOUT / Zhongli loves Osmanthus Wine; it just so happens that you are that glass of wine. "Osmanthus Wine tastes the same as I remember ... but where are those who share the memory~ "
→ DEMOGRAPHIC / gn ! reader (you are Osmanthus Wine)
→ CW / osmanthus wine + weird descriptions of him drinking wine (slightly NSFW???? idfk)
→ EXTRA / I'm writing this while my family is arguing about US Politics at 12:30 AM /srs
——————————————————————————————————
A fresh glass of Osmanthus Wine sat on the table ahead of Zhongli; to be fair, he couldn't afford it, so he had to borrow some money from Childe before Zhongli could enjoy his coming feast, but it was all in good favor, because admittedly, he'd saved Childe from a near death experience a few days prior.
However, this Osmanthus Wine was different from the other glasses; it had a consciousness. You looked up at Zhongli, though he didn't seem to notice your presence. We meet again, you thought, bracing yourself before he took the first sip with those magical lips of his. Years later, after our first encounter; I taste the same, I can assure you, but where are those who share the memory?
Zhongli sighed, "Osmanthus Wine is as beautiful as I remember," he wraps his hand around the glass you're situated in, his fingers almost trembling from how long he's gone without a glass of this magical liquor. The gloves felt soft lifting you into the air, as he tipped it in the air lightly, swirling you around in the glass confinement before finally raising the fine drink to his lips and taking the first sip.
Oh, Archons, it felt amazing. His tender lips sweet like getting your first kiss from him; that small part of your liquid state tingling as it slid down his throat, sighing a pleased sigh after swallowing. "And it tastes the same as I remember ... oh, where are those who share those memories?"
Zhongli closed his eyes, remembering back to a time with his comrades where he could enjoy fresh glasses of wine in a peaceful Liyue, untattered by conflict from the Rex Lapis Crisis and the Fatui's trade antics.
The city bustled with chatter and footsteps, and the trees glistened in the night air as orange leaves fell symbolizing the changing from Summer to Autumn.
He prepared himself for another taste of the delicious mixture; once more, you were raised to his lips and sipped on again, this time hearing the faint swishing in his warm mouth, before he swallowed yet again, enjoying the taste even more. You lingered in his mouth until the waiter came back, holding a clipboard and a stylish black and gold pen. "May I take your order for an entrée?" He asked, holding the pen to the paper, smirking underneath his big round glasses.
"Mm, yes, I believe I am ready. If I can, I'll take the... Slow-Cooked Bamboo Shoot Soup, please," he continued to read the menu a bit longer, just in case.
The guy quickly scribbled down his order on the paper, before thanking Zhongli, twirling around, and heading back inside the restaraunt.
Hurrying to finish his drink so he could order another -- considering the bill wasn't on him -- Zhongli drank faster, enjoying every last sip of your taste.
Almost finishing the drink, you sighed in relief, as you swayed into his mouth, to be replaced by more Osmanthus Wine.
"Osmanthus Wine really does taste as I remember," he smiled. He'd have to get Childe in on this sometime.

Paix prospère
Prosperous Peace
au repos - at rest
avec ses meilleures intentions - with the best of intentions
rien que pour vous - only for you
🔮
Beau songe
“Sweet Dream”

intense - strong
⚖️
« À ma façon »
“My Way”
sans la moindre omission - without any omission
💌
Nouilles du cœur
Heartstring Noodles
collant - sticky
un arrière-goût - aftertaste
se lasse - to get tired, to get bored
à bien y réfléchir - on second thought
se plaindre de qch - to complain about
🍤
Crevettes à la rosée
Dew-Dipped Shrimp
frire - to fry
une consistance élastique - elastic consistency
le piment - pepper, chili
🪴
Plat maison de Qingce
Qingce Household Dish
sommaire - basic
inscrit dans la mémoire - inscribed in the memory
🍲
Soupe apaisante
Heat-Quelling Soup
soulager - relieve, alleviate
une gorge sèche - a dry throat

Can I please ask for a red string of fate with Zhongli, I'm dying for some sweet fluff and comfort
Red String Of Fate
pairings: zhongli x gn!reader
warnings: some cursing cause i cant keep my foul mouth shut, fluffyfluffff
context: this is a soulmate au! im pretty sure i accidentally made reader immortal so congrats, ur kind of a god!!
170 follower soulmate event | genshin m.list
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He finds the whole red string thing fascinating and sees soulmates meet all the time over the years
I'd like to think he hopes to have a meeting with you like that someday
You'd be surprised a god this old hasn't even met their soulmate yet! Maybe fate was just being a bitch and made him wait six millenniums
The constant feeling of grief and frustration over the years made him a bit impatient into meeting you
He's had that red string since he was a mere infant, so he just assumed you're also immortal like him. It made him feel better because maybe you could stay by his side, and understand him
Meeting the other end of the string was such a relief to the god of contracts. It was like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders
He's never been happier to meet somebody in his entire life, somebody to eat slow cooked bamboo shoot soup with, someone to listen to his stories, somebody he could hold forever
After retiring from being an archon, the only thing he wants to do next is settle down and grow old with you

It all started when Hu tao asked you to pick some Qingxin flowers for a client's funeral. Although the journey was definitely tiring, it all seems worth it until it suddenly starts to rain heavily and got you all drenched and soaking wet all the way home.
And here you are now. All frail in bed with a runny nose, blurry eyes from tears, a hazy head and a scorching heat washing over your body as another cough wreaks a sting of pain on your dry throat.
You're sense was so hazy and weak you failed to notice Zhongli knocking on your door, you only noticed him after he enters the room and called your name.
"Y/n, dear? How are you feeling right now?" Zhongli asked, only receiving a subtle nod from you. He holds his hand out to your forehead to check your temperature, a satisfied hum then emitted from his closed mouth.
"Your temperature does seem to lower than before, that's good to know. Do you need anything dear?" Zhongli asked while helping you to sit up.
"C-Can you get me a *cough* g-glass of water?" You asked in between coughs that only makes your throat stings more.
Zhongli nods and goes to get the water immediately and give it to you gently so that the water won't spill on you.
"Would you like for me to make you some soup?" Zhongli offered after a few minutes of silence just sitting on your bed, waiting
"N-No need Li, I'm ok. Just need a bit of rest for now, don't bother to make one." You said while falling back onto the soft pillow on the bed.
"Ah, I see. Well then, rest well dear." Zhongli kissed your forehead with one hand caressing your head as he leave the room and waited for you to sleep, then start making his Slow cooked bamboo shoot soup carefully as to not wake you up from your sleep.

"Now, the food is ready. Only need to take care of the tea." I mumbled in my mind while heating up some water on the stove. But then a sudden sound of Y/n whimpering has me bolting onto her room in concern, only to see her in bed covered in cold sweat and her eyebrows and nose scrunched up.
"Seems like it's just a nightmare." I said to myself, going to the kitchen to get a dry and soaked napkin for Y/n. I carefully put the wet napkin on her forehead, and then use the dry napkin to wipe the drops of sweats on her head or neck.
"Li. . . N-No don't hit Hu tao with your meteor. . ." Y/n mumbled incoherently on her sleep while shuffling in her bed. What she just said manage to catch me off guard for a second since I never did that to Hu tao, but remembering how sometimes Hu tao and I had our fair share of arguments, it start to make a little sense.
"No I won't hit her dear." I whispered, removing a strand of hair on Y/n's face. Only for them to wake up with a hazy stare on her eyes, as she registered what just happened and their surroundings.
"I made some bamboo shoot soup dear, would you like to eat now?" I offered. Y/n's face suddenly turns into a pout, her cheeks slightly puffing out with an upset look on her face that was a little subtle due to her frail condition.
"Li didn't I told you to not bother to make a meal? Aren't you tired from finishing some errands from the traveler?" Y/n complained, hands holding my sleeve with a slight tug as if demanding explanation.
"I'm not dear, don't worry. Oh wait I forgot about the tea, hold on a second." I said, remembering the boiling water which makes me half run to the kitchen and turning off the stove. I brewed two cups of tea and brings it to Y/n for both of us to drink.
"Would you like to eat, rest or drink tea first?" I asked.
"I'll eat first." Y/n replied, a sudden rumble from her stomach broke the silence we we're in which made both of us chuckle.
I bring the soup to Y/n's room and we both start eating while occasionally feeding each other. A giggle sometimes escape both of our mouth when one of us has soup on our chin. After we we're done, I place the dishes in the sink and went back to see Y/n fumbling with her clothes' sleeves.
"Li, c-can I sit on your lap?" Y/n stuttered, her face was red but I don't know if it was from embarrassment or because of the fever she's having.
"Sure dear, let me settle in your bed for a second." I said, sitting down onto her soft bed, patting my lap as a gesture for her to sit which she reciprocated happily with no hesitation. She sits on my lap with the 2 cups of tea on her hands, she hands me mine as I hug her closer with one arm. We drink our tea in a peaceful silence for a few minutes
"Would you like to hear some stories dear?" I asked, in offer of helping her sleep.
"Sure! Ooh can you tell me about Azdaha? Last time you tried to tell me that, it was cut off by a client's arrival so I haven't heard the ending." Y/n asked, her delicate hand holds the cup of tea while the other one is holding my hand on her waist.
"Oh that one, Hahahh I almost forgot about that. Now, I'll begin the story." I said, Y/n's head nuzzled further onto my chest as I start to tell the story.
"The tale begins about a rock named Azdaha. . ."

𖧷 a/n ┈ IT'S FINISHED HSLDFJKSLDJ ough i think this might be the most i've written in a whole month for the past few months. maybe. probably. ah, anyway, to conclude this series, i prepped a little thing ー i don't think most of people noticed a lot of them, but i sprinkled little details here and there in the fics and the images eheh... so yes this is an explanation post that no one asked but I WANTED TO MAKE ANYWAY SHUSH /silly
𝑜𝓊𝓇 𝒻𝓊𝓁𝓁 𝓂𝑒𝓃𝓊 ❬ masterlist ❭ 𐫱 𝓂𝑒𝓂𝒷𝑒𝓇𝓈𝒽𝒾𝓅 ❬ taglist ❭
Tumblr media
to clarify, yes, all the chapters in the series are sneak peeks of the numerous lives you've lived with zhongli (actual timeline not exactly in order as the chapters' releases). if you saw the masterlist, you might have noticed that the general tag said 'reincarnation!au' ;))
p.s. i think anyone who knows my selfship 'zhongrin' really well must have already noticed this, but yes the whole series is so zhongrin-coded bc i am an overindulgent shit but 1) it's hubby's bday and 2) it's my blog - so i'd like to think i get a free pass ✨ /smacked
𖧷 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬
ー day 1: morax giving you pebbles / stones just like how you offered him one to befriend him [day 2]
ー day 4: fresh yellow hibiscus is the same flower your past self put inside a vase in your restaurant [day 3]
ー day 5: mention of golden hair ornament which you gave him [day 1]
ー day 6: dragon biting behavior defined as marking possessions / territories [day 2]
ー day 7: how his favorite slow-cooked bamboo shoots soup recipe originally comes from you [day 3] + marigolds being your choice of flowers [day 4]
𖧷 "𝓏𝒽𝑜𝓃𝑔𝓁𝒾"
all the first letters (which is in a different font if you've noticed) in the series' works makes up "zhongli" (except the last one is basically just a heart emoji, hence 'love'). also, there are hidden letters in all the different headers' banners :3

𖧷 𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬
in the masterlist, if you put the dividers between the chapters together, it shows as this symbol:

which is basically zhongli's signature patterns in his clothing, accessories, hairclip, etc. and why i named the series as ♾️/6000+, which also fits with the whole 'i will spend an infinity with you out of my current 6000+ years of life' concept portrayed in the whole series 😌
i wonder which references did you manage to pick up on? hehe <3

Then Came You | Zhongli x Reader - Chapter 3
@probablynotasquid here you go :)
Tumblr media
An Enigma
1.4k words
warnings: none
“Oh?” Zhongli sat up straight, refusing to hint at any emotions. Here was a mortal, challenging an Archon; calling him out on his little trick. His curiosity regarding you was more piqued than ever.
“The Prime of Adepti is the oldest Archon out of the Seven. He is the wittiest, most calculating everlasting and any thoughts of him being assassinated are plain nonsense.”
“And why is that?” Zhongli nudged.
“You really expect for the Warrior God to not be able to hold his ground during a fight? The one who fought in the Archon War?” you snarked, arms crossed across your chest.
So simple, yet so convincing. He hadn’t given it much thought at that time.
“There was a body,” Zhongli countered.
“Anyone can replace a body.”
You watched his reaction closely: lips parted; eyes widening ever so slightly. If you didn’t have a keen eye, thanks to years of observing ores to distinguish them from the fakes, you wouldn’t have noticed.
“There is something bigger at play here,” you pondered, eyes still scanning Zhongli for the littlest of a misstep. “Word on the street is, not too long ago a certain Cryo Archon managed to get her hands on Barbatos’ Anemo Gnosis.” Zhongli didn’t dare move an inch. “If she already had one of her own, why bother taking someone else’s?” you teased, voice dropping to a low octave.
“More importantly,” you continued, almost whispering, “does she plan on collecting them all? Did the Geo Archon lose a bet and in turn had to submit his Gnosis over to her? Is that why, to propose his retirement, he faked his death?” You sat back, satisfied with your line of reasoning. Zhongli dipped his head, a hand on his chin.
“Or maybe it’s something else.” Zhongli looked back at you. “Everyone in Liyue is familiar with Keqing’s line of thought,” you laced your fingers together and placed them on the wooden table.
“It’s true, that Liyue is way too reliant on its Archon. Maybe Rex Lapis wanted to test his nation. Wanted to see what his people would do when they are faced with a crisis far beyond their reach, with no one other than the Qixing and the Adepti as their shields. It’s a shame though,” you sighed, hoping to relax the tense atmosphere, “I was quite fond of that Jade Palace. I had hoped of visiting it maybe once in my lifetime.”
‘Brilliant.’ That was the first word that popped into his head after you had finished speaking.
A mere human couldn't reflect so deeply with the inner workings of a God. ‘Is she associated with Childe? Did he possibly tell her about the recent events?’ It seemed unlikely, yet he couldn’t fathom how you had figured it out so easily.
“Eh, anyway,” you waved it off, “what possible benefit do I have in figuring out an almighty’s ulterior motive?” Zhongli smiled; eyes still fascinated by the little conversation.
“Enough talk. Let’s order.”
You motioned to a waitress and she came over to your table, explaining the varieties available for the day. After listening intently to all the options, you decided on a Mushroom Pizza and Calla Lily Seafood Soup, while Zhongli ordered a Slow-Cooked Bamboo Shoot Soup paired with Vegetarian Abalone.
As you waited for your food to arrive, you glanced at Zhongli through narrow eyes. His lips still held that formal, kind smile as he listened to the storyteller intently who had now begun a new tale of pirates and bandits. Something in you stirred. He was so… patient.
Usually, when you would ramble on and on about topics of not much interest, most people would shut you down, begging you to take a breather. But this man – he didn’t look jaded at all. Instead, he was all ears to your crazy theories; you had half expected him to declare himself busy and get away from a senseless woman such as yourself.
Soon your food arrived and you dived in headfirst, the groans of your stomach becoming unbearable. Zhongli watched as you downed one bite after another, stirring his soup to let it cool. “Say,” you managed to get out between chewing, “from the way you talk and act around others, one would assume that you are highly educated. Noble even. Why did you decide to work at a funeral parlour?”
Zhongli took a spoonful of his soup, the hot contents rushing down his throat. “If you wanted, you could have bagged any job. Maybe even among the Qixing, which would certainly pay higher than what you earn now.”
Zhongli offered you a tight-lipped smile. “It’s a long story; maybe some other time.”
Taking the hint, you backed off, not wanting to pressure someone against their liking. Suddenly, a familiar voice called out your name from the distance, and you whipped your head in the direction of the source.
“Y/N!” A young female, stopped near your table, hands on her hips as she tried to catch her breath. From what it looked like; she had been running from your shop to the restaurant.
“Bao! What happened? Why were you running?”
Zhongli looked up to observe the stranger. “Allow me to introduce you,” you motioned with your hands. “Bao, this is Mr Zhongli, a consultant at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlour,” Zhongli bowed his head in a way of greeting.
“This is Bao. She works at the jewellery shop with me. She is in charge of things when I am not around.” Bao bowed as well.
“I’m sorry… I didn’t realise… you were with a… customer,” she huffed out, still trying to catch her breath.
“Why don’t you sit down? Mr Zhongli’s not a customer, he’s an… acquaintance?” You looked over to Zhongli who nodded his head in agreement.
‘Yes. Acquaintance. That’s all she is at the moment,’ he thought to himself.
You offered Bao your seat which she politely declined, claiming that she was only there to deliver the news.
“The shipment to be expected today, the Noctilucous Jade ores,” she continued, “the delivery man, Xiu Ying; he returned all battled and bloody.” You raised your eyebrows. Even Zhongli heeded fixedly. “He said that on his way over, the Hilichurls hounded him and took over the cart with the ores. He tried to fight them off but there were just too many. In the end, he had to retreat.”
Your eyes were brimming with anger. Images of your parents’ wounded bodies flashed before you. You put down your spoon, pivoting in your seat to face Bao.
“Where.” Hostility oozed out of your voice. The sudden change in your tone caused Zhongli to shift his focus on you.
“Along the path to Wangshu Inn. Few meters up ahead the Guili Plains.”
“Very well. I will head over there tonight.” You returned to your meal. “Make sure you pay Xiu Ying for his troubles. I’ll drop by later to thank him personally.” Bao responded with a quick jerk of her chin, almost turning around to leave when Zhongli said, concerned, “Pardon my intrusion but, shouldn’t such matters be handed over to the Guild?”
“The Guild already has a lot on their plate to deal with. It’s my responsibility that the goods that I buy from the miners be brought back safely. It’s sweet that you’re concerned but don’t fret. I can handle it.” Zhongli didn’t seem convinced.
Upon noticing, you sighed, “I have a Vision,” Zhongli scanned you up and down, a shining orb not visible.
“I don’t use it very often. But in such circumstances, I bring it out,” you explained kindly while trying to remember which bag you had packed it in.
“Yes. Don’t worry Mr Zhongli. Y/N here is an expert in solving such muddles,” Bao assured. “I’ll see you at the shop,” Bao called out to you as she jogged away.
“I apologise for overstepping my boundaries, however, I myself am travelling to the Wangshu Inn tonight.” You raised an eyebrow.
“I am to meet with Xiao. He resides there,” Zhongli explained, trying not to sound patronizing. “If it’s alright with you, may I accompany you on your trip?” You considered his words for a moment. They seemed genuine, and you realised that he wasn’t trying to undermine your authority.
“Okay. Why not. Do you have a Vision?”
“Well… yes, although–” Zhongli scratched his cheek.
“Doesn’t matter,” you declared.
“Just don’t get in my way.”
