i always wear a silver ring from the outer banks the summer after tenth grade. it’s three interconnected sea turtles that circle around my finger and the only that’s small enough to stay secure

i can’t part with a silver necklace my grandma gave me when i was five and dubbed the tin man. he’s since lost one of his imposter ruby eyes, but i still wear him when i need some extra luck

hello! i'm the person who sent u this ask almost exactly two years ago (slfcare/663005429422522368/do-you-have-any-advice-on-making-friends-i-have? ). i just wanted to tell you that your advice was incredibly helpful at a super low time in my life, and i'm really grateful. i'm 25 now and i actually have friends !! not a huge amount of best friends but i do have close ones i can talk to now and other lovely people i love hanging out with. it took a long time and a lot of patience and therapy and fear and trying new things, and my life is nowhere near perfect but i no longer feel that crippling loneliness i used to feel, i'm no longer alone at home all the time and i no longer struggle with suicidal thoughts. just wanted to thank you and also give you this little update on my life, in case some of ur followers are struggling with loneliness and making friends, so they can know there's definitely hope for them too if there was for me !! <3

Hello! Ofc I don't mind asks :) I don't follow too many blog cause this is a secondary blog and it's kinda complicated how I move through my main and my secondary ones so... yeah I end up having a mess of random following. Anyway, these are some of the ones I follow and appreciate the most. Ofc if anyone else wants to add more, please do that! I also tend to reblog anytime I bump into a good post, so maybe it can help you find more sources too.

On a side note, I prefer to follow therapists that do not use reels on instagram, I tend to reblog their stuff too both here and on @lysshome, just in case you'll ever feel like giving that a try too. But anyway if you feel better on here, stay on here :)

abelia ⇢ do you have a particular piece of jewelry you always wear or can’t part with?

I cannot part with the small (real) mezuzah pendant that my great grandmother passed down to me. It’s very small with a real kosher scroll inside. It’s more valuable to me than any Jewish Star necklace I’ll ever have, because it is a way to express my Jewishness in a way that is beautiful but also safe. It was borne from a people who know what it is to move through the world with pride when it is safe to do so and when it isn’t. And it keeps the meaning and importance of not only my religion but also the matriarch of my family quite literally very close to my heart.

XD I'll answer this for my room....there's not really any theme going on...on my desk right now I have a set of books I'm planning on reading this next few weeks and a couple of clay figures that my friend made for me :) I have a bunch of polaroids on my wall, some of my paper quilling artworks...and a watercolour painting that my friend gifted me for my birthday :)) I have a bunch of fountain pens and an ink pot...oh and my favourite bookmark (it's like a brass snake with the Lady Macbeth quote 'Look the innocent flower but be the serpent underneath it') that I got for my seventeenth birthday :))

I suppose the only theme that I do have in here is that I love paper craft so I have a blue paper heart chandelier and a bunch of origami flowers stuck to my wall...hmm...and a splatter painting I did of my name :)
