ME TOO ME TOO ME TOOOOOOO.;....;;;; my idea for it was that after baltimore abby told him to avoid talking for a few days to be safe and kevin just. kept going. at first it was two days, then it was five, then it was seven, until abby realizes he's still not speaking and tells him it's at a point where it'll be more detrimental if he doesn't try doing it again

and i think kevin does try! but it's like. well. i think when he opens his mouth he is overcome with fear and the idea of saying the wrong thing; his one protective stance against riko was to never say anything (you can't hurt someone for something they never said), but it'd still get him hurt nonetheless, and then with andrew.......... everything went downhill as soon as kevin opened his mouth.... so the first time he tries to talk again after that break feels absolutely terrifying!!!! kevin is just there, mouth open, trying very hard to get any words out and abby is waiting but he just can't seem to say anything. can't seem to make any noise at all

this is very interesting to me as a concept!!! i think its a very understandable fear, and a consequence most people wouldn't know what to do with, kevin included. he's just... ahghg.... kevin.... he didn't have it in himself to go with grace you see :( one of this fics main plot points is that some of the other foxes think kevin's silence isn't a psychological thing, and they (andrew included) believe kevin's vocal cords have been permanently damaged, so no one is having even the slightest bit of fun really. in fact i think this might be my most pathetic andrew yet because he's really going through it

SO YEAH UM I LOVE THIS FIC YOU SEE.... i think its just so interesting and such a sad but crushingly realistic concept...... so much of kevin's character is centered around talking and communicating and to imagine a version of him that just. can't. is very ahhh........ plus i think he's cute signing all angry. but that's more personal if anything!

The Animorphs fandom is really chill, which is nice. But there's one post about the reprint covers and whenever anyone tries to explain that Scholastic was trying to appeal to contemporary kids/visual branding/the covers weren't that bad, a dude is just freaking out over and over with the most bad faith/cherry picking arguments, and I think he thinks he's "owning" everybody, but it has gone from annoying to just plain funny that he's got his head so far up his ass.

elquackitys threat to bbh is just. amusing to me. my man literally What Are You Going To Do q!bbh is one of the most stacked and powerful players on the server, still has two presidential lives and a hoard of totems, is on good terms with most of if not all other players, is very respected and trusted, and has proven his skill in defense and protecting others (especially the eggs). id even say he and his kids are notoriously unkillable.

cant take him on directly he will mop the floor with elq. hard to trap him due to how careful he is but even harder to make something with enough power to actually kill him. if the federation intervenes it only solidifies the fact that they were right in killing him which garners bbh and max more support and makes the feds look even worse. go after his kids (who are pretty much as stacked, skilled, and beloved as him) and not only would he draw the ire of Everyone, if he succeeds bbh will have nothing holding him back in his retribution. all elq has proven so far is that he makes empty threats. people are only scared cause they think hes got the power of the federation behind him, but as soon as he uses that power the jig is up and the whole island is after him. hes in a corner that hes not gonna get out of easily, which makes me think he isnt the real threat here

the spells in bg3 are kind of ... shouty ? i refuse to believe that all spells are invoked that way. this is my way of saying that a competent illusion wizard would never want someone to clock that he's casting an illusion spell. they're supposed to be verbalized and somaticized as deceptively and quietly as possible, even though there's still a possibility of someone noticing. the better the mage in general, though, the better chance they have of not being noticed.

#that prob also informs how my wizard casts in general . #he is not ... a loud spell caster . #i feel like verbal components of spells don't have to be *loud* . #as long as you articulate the words and gestures as they have to be articulated you can invoke your spells . #there still has to be some sound & some movement of your hands tho obv . #if your hands are bound or if you're silenced you can't cast at all . #this also makes sense in my head bc my wizard has a deception proficiency from his background .
