ok so i clarified otohan's build for myself
she's a 20th level psi warrior fighter base, and the backpack lets her use echo knight abilities. this all tracks--4 attacks, 2 action surges, 12 psionic power dice (+1 if regained on a bonus action) at a d12, and the ability to manifest two echoes at once. i'm going to guess that she uses two-weapon fighting based on the damage rolls from her offhand weapon. plus 3 legendary actions that she could use to attack with either weapon, dash, psi-powered leap (80 ft), telekinetic control (2 actions, move target 30 ft in a direction of her choice), and 3 legendary resistances.
if they hadn't immediately dealt with the backpack she could have been flashing all over the battlefield, 10 attacks each in the turns that she used action surge, 6 otherwise, split across multiple opponents or targeted to one. given her place in initiative, this could have been a full massacre before she went exaltant if she had hit the casters and healers first, instead of chetney. she had the movement for it.
speaking of that: she regained both action surges and presumably all of her psi power dice, gained resistance to all damage, and a +3 bonus to AC. I'm guessing the state was triggered by a damage threshold. i'm willing to bet that if she didn't have the health potion they might have gotten her down within the round, assuming the threshold is 1/4 of the total or something like that, and the 66 she got back brought her back over half.
on the other hand, even given the multiple deaths and 1 permadeath, bell's hells really worked hard on this one. ashton and fearne using the shards and doing big damage. fcg keeping the party up with 2 mass cure wounds and a revivify. laudna debuffing with bane and getting damage in with the eldritch blasts. imogen getting the backpack off. orym using bait and switch to defend imogen and overall being a tiny tank. chet dying, coming back, and still going around to get imogen up. so many crits. fcg's hail mary.
they got her now, so there's no more shadow assassinations, and they won't be splitting attention when they come back to kill ludinus.
good riddance.

Finally making an OC info post- by no means is this all of them, just ones that are most active and/or live in my head rent free.

He's a Himbo basically a big dog.
This campaign lead him to leaving his tribe for the first time after an unfortunate accident which turned him into a small 'painted child' and searching for his missing sister. (both these are sorted now!)
*Rhys found an old oil painting of this child, blacked out and next thing he knew he was that small elf child. Her skin and clothing having the texture of painted canvas, and bleeds paint.
For a good chunk of the campaign he was just a totally normal elf- whose shadow didn't match with the body
Tumblr media

Yeah she's smooching the vampire. (and Halsin)
Naturally cares for others, even at the cost of her own wellbeing.
Has a Phobia of anything touching/going near her eyes- so the start of the game is A Time for Fox.

Tumblr media
21 Years Old (as of ARR), He/Them
Xaela AuRa
Dragoon - White Mage Main (All healer classes tbh)

But basically a big soft boy if you break past the mile thick ice
Tragic backstory™ , used to using his body for the job
He really enjoys cooking!
Also hopelessly in love with a small soft summoner, Caelum (the one hugging him), They're RedxBlue gays

I think I'll leave it there for now!
I may add more later, I hope it was interesting?? and I'm still pretty shy with yelling this much about my characters haha.
Thanks for reading if you made it this far! 💜

RWBY: Christmas Tales
The Masked Swordsman
Blake cupped her hands for warmth as she wandered around the markets. During these four days, traders from all across Remnant would set up their stalls and bring treasures from their native kingdoms; jewels, weapons, fabrics and sweets. Blake's nose twitched as she couldn't decide what to get for her beloved. Jaune had been her friend since childhood and had moved from his original home in Charlemagne to Kuroyuri. Unlike many of her peers, Jaune wasn't a fighter. Instead, he shared Blake's passion for poetry and literature. Suddenly, an idea popped into her head. Maybe she could find a storybook within the market. She moved through the crowd and tapped the shoulder of an ox faunus.
Blake: Excuse me, ma'am. Do you know any stalls that sell books?
Ox Faunus: Oh of course. They're over by the pottery. The man has a vast collection from all four kingdoms.
Blake: Thank you so much. *bows*
Blake shuffled through the crowds again, trying to fight her urge to yell at everyone to get out of her way. She finally reached the book stall and came face to face with a young tiger faunus.
Tiger Faunus: Welcome to my Treasure Trove of Literature, my dear! We have every book you could possibly sink your teeth into! What takes your fancy today?
Blake leaned over and scanned the table. Of all the books, one stuck out to her the most. It was a black and white image of a caped swordsman surrounded with twelve knights. Blake's eyes sparkled with joy. It was Jaune's favourite tale; Charlemagne and his Twelve Paladins, the namesake of his home nation.
Blake: *picks up book* I'll take this one.
Tiger Faunus: Excellent choice. That'll be 10 gold lien, please. Would you like it gift-wrapped?
Blake: *nods head and pays* Thank you.
Tiger Faunus; You're welcome and have a Merry Christmas, my lady. *bows*
Blake smiled as the book was wrapped in a beautiful white cloth. She took her present and bowed to the vendor. Her nose twitched as she caught the scent of freshly baked cakes. She followed the trail to a small, makeshift bakery, where she saw a pile of mouthwatering strawberry cream buns. Jaune was sure to love this. She paid three silver lien for a box and once again ,oved through the sea of the crowd. As soon as she left the down, she saw that the clouds had become thicker and a dark grey. A few specks of snow fell and brushed against her face. She pulled her scarf above her mouth and continued her walk along the path. The snow began to fall thicker and heavier. Even with her Aura, Blake shivered through the bitter cold. The wind grew wild, obscuring her vision and pushing her back.
Blake: Ugh! Damn it!
When the wind finally cleared, Blake found herself standing face to face with her enemy; The Masked Swordsman. He wore a blood red shitagi, black hakama and a white oni-like mask, with two black horns.
Masked Swordsman: We meet again, Belladonna. *draws a azure bladed katana* Today, you will meet your end.
Blake: *draws her jet black katana* I don't have time for this, Swordsman. You've been tormenting me for the better part of a year. Today, the conflict ends.
The two of them circled around the path, raising their swords high. In a flash, they clased and a loud, deafening clang echoed as both of them struggled to push each other back. Blake began to glow a deep purple and split into a shadow clone, catching the Masked Swordsman off guard. She tried to thrust, only for him to counter and land a punch straight into her stomach.
Blake: Agh!! *stumbles back*
The Masked Swordsman raised his sword for downward strike, but Blake split into another shadow clone. She reached to her belt and poured a vial of Burn Dust onto her blade. A flame ignited and she slashed towards The Masked Swordsman. Desperately, he tried to dodge as a wave of fire burned the snowy ground. He looked into Blake's eyes and saw that they were bloodshot. She hadn't blinked once. She was intending to finish this once and for all. They both gripped their swords with both hands and ran towards each other. Blake swung with devastating force and cut a piece of the Swordsman's mask off.
Masked Swordsman: GAAAAAARGH!!!!! *grabs part of his face* NO! NOO!!! MY MASK!!!
Blake: *sheathes sword*
Masked Swordsman: This... this isn't over!!!
The snow fell faster and the Masked Swordsman djsappeared. Blake looked down at the broken mask and noticed black blood. Her eyes were wide with panic. Whoever the Masked Swordsman was, he wasn't human.
[Arc House]
A loud knock was heard and Jaune rushed over to answer the door. Standing outside was his girlfriend, Blake, shivering.
Jaune: Blake! What the hell are you doing out tbere? Get inside! *drags her in*
Blake: T-T-Thanks J-J-Jaune.
Jaune: *closes door and chuckles* It's okay, sweetheart. What were you doing out there?
Blake: *laughs* Buying your Christmas present, silly. *gives him the red cloth wrapped present* I hope you'll like it.
Jaune: If it's from you, I know I'll love it. *kisses her forehead*
Blake: *giggles and blushes* I also picked up some cream buns. You want to have some?
Jaune: Of course! Let's sit by the fire.
Jaune and Blake sat with each other by the warmth, kissing and cuddling, as they counted the days for a wonderful Christmas.

What dnd classes would you say Twig and the others would have?
If we were to assign classes to their personalities, they would be the following:
Ark: Shadow magic sorcerer. This was the easiest choice out of the entire cast.
Celebi: Peace domain cleric, because Celebis in general are known to only appear in peaceful eras, and I think it’s funny for her to be a cleric who is her own divine sponsor
Dusknoir: School of abjuration wizard (but he has a significantly greater amount of levels as a celestial warlock from his time as Primal Dialga’s servant)
Grovyle: The most textbook thief rogue you’ve ever seen
Kip: He gave me a lot of trouble, but I think the best fit for him would be an armorer artificer
Twig: Banneret fighter— she’s an (ex) human fighter! Get it? Like the meme about bland D&D characters? Eh???
However, if they were to play a campaign in a human AU, they would choose classes like so:
Celebi: 100% would play a college of glamor bard. Hands down. She gives her character the most bizarre instrument she can think of that destroys the immersion of the sessions they run when she plays YouTube clips of people playing said instrument at critical moments in battles.
Grovyle: Echo knight fighter. Has a fun time asking way too many questions about the layouts of areas so he can put enemies in bad positions by swapping their places.
Kip: Eternally the Dungeon Master 😞 Except for the scattered oneshots Twig runs for him where she DMs for him as a solo player, he never gets to play. During those oneshots, he likes to play a wide variety of classes and subclasses, though he is very fond of ancestral guardian barbarians and monks in general!
Dusknoir: Oath of devotion paladin. Kip would create a moral dilemma for his character midway through the campaign and he’d elect to become an oathbreaker, though.
Twig: Beast master ranger. She’s really attached to her character’s animal companion, and Kip ignores the fact that said animal companion is able to die (unlike a wizard’s familiar) because he knows that if her pet elk was killed, she would go into a state of catatonic grief in real life.
Ark: Was extremely bewildered by all of the logistics that go into playing a campaign as well as building a character, so he’s just playing one of the pre-generated character sheets you can find online. He’s a very bland champion fighter who slowly evolves into a very elaborate character as Ark grows more comfortable with playing, and therefore is able to put all of his overthinking into piecing together his character’s past actions into an in-depth character arc with great implications for the future of his character.

Competent Jedis & Their Squads are gonna win the whole war just step back and watch em work their stuff 💅
This, exactly!
"I'm sorry," Master Windu says, sounding deeply, deeply pained as he looks from the Jedi shadow standing in front of him, and then over to the four men standing just behind her, "You're telling me you have proof, honest to god, hard proof, that Palpatine is acting against the best interests of the Republic?" "Yup." Knight Rynn replies. Mace groans and buries his face in his hands, the only sign of weakness he's willing to allow himself, "Okay," He says as he pulls himself together, "We need a plan." "We," Knight Rynn motions to herself and her men, "Have a plan. I just need your help." "My help?" "Just so." Knight Rynn's smile is sharp, and is echoed on the faces of the men behind her, "Part 1 of the plan has already been handled." "It...has?" "Part 1," Boss says calmly, "Ensure that Knight Skywalker is nowhere near Coruscant. The Master of Shadows encouraged the 501st and Knight Skywalker to join General Kenobi and the 212 in hunting Grievous." "Part 2 has already been started, as well." Knight Rynn adds. "Part 2," Fixer interjects, "Is that I've jammed all comms into and out of the senate district. And the men in the Coruscant Guard have been dispatched to deal with a riot that Scorch started." "And now for Part 3," Knight Rynn says, her grin becoming sharper, "Sev, here, already has a perch with a clear view of Palpatine's office. He and Fixer are going to go there and wait. We," She motions to herself, Boss, and Scorch, "Are going to confront him in person. But I am not the best fighter-" Mace stares at her, and then he stands, "Allow me to change out of my council robes and into my battle robes." "Of course Master."

Bells Hells C1 Class Swap AU
Basically just giving the Hells the same class as their player's Campaign 1 characters and getting a bit different approaches to the plot beats.
Orym: Oath of the Watcher Paladin/Inquisitive Rogue
Started as pure paladin. Devotion to either elemental spirits or the Wildmother because Ashari
Fighting Style is Blind Fighting because ridiculous Perception or Protection because he's always got his shield and is a guard
Oath based on Ashari directive to hold the elemental rifts
Inquisitive rogue levels are form searching for clues about the attack on Zephrah in the hunt for Will and Derrig's murder(s)
Fearne: Light Domain Cleric
This subclass has got all the fire spells, and Fearne loves to burn
Her god is probably the Moonweaver, since she has a presence in the Fey Realm and the moon does reflect light from the sun. Also, the Moonweaver is one of the trickster-type deities, so that also fits Fearne's mischievous nature
Of course, devotion to the moon goddess does add some interesting layers/twists to the whole Ruidus/Ruisduborn deal
Laudna: Circle of Spores Druid
It's the undead druid, of course Laudna gets this subclass
She probably picked up the druid class from the whole Witch of the Woods thing, and was thought weird/creepy for liking mushrooms and other dead-ish things found among the detritus of the forests surrounding Whitestone as a child
Delilah is still around, but definitely more as a haunting spirit and unwanted advisor, since there's no warlock multi-class
Imogen: Fey Wanderer Ranger (reflavor)
This subclass is closest to Imogen's mindreader/Aberrant Mind skillset, so reflavor for her Exaltant Ruidusborn status in that her mystique is from that instead of the fey
Her Preternatural Blessing would be the lightning scars/marks
The ranger class is a result of escaping from everyone in Gelvaan by going out into nature
One of her favored enemies is undead because she wants Delilah to leave Laudna alone
Favored terrain is either grassland or mountain because that's where she lived
Fighting Style is Druidic Warrior, probably learned the spells from Laudna, and keeps with Witchy Bitches
Chetney: Path of the Beast Barbarian (reflavor)
Werewolf is really a blood hunter thing, but Path of the Beast includes a level of shapeshifting (and can have origin from a lycanthrope parent), so reflavor as Chet's lycanthropy is controlled through barbarian practices of this Path
Uses a giant wood ax as main weapon rather than wood carving tools
Fresh Cut Grass: College of Creation Bard and/or Alchemist Artificer
Sam had two characters for C1: Scanlan and Tary, so I'm making this open for either or both of their classes
None of the bard subclasses are very healing oriented. But Creation has some good support features
Instrument could be himself as like a percussion instrument drumming on himself. Possibly with mechanical beeps and whistles
When they finally learn Animating Performance, it's a weird day because of how Bells Hells came together, and because FCG always tries to get a response from the animated items, like he did with with other automatons in early campaign
Alchemist artificers are the most healing oriented, so that's the reason for that subclass
It's also a fun kind of irony that an aeormaton is also a creator of magical items/constructs
Ahston: Echo Knight Fighter (modified)
Uses dual swords. Milo made jagged glass blades, sort of like obsidian blades in shape, instead of the hammer
Has either Two-weapon Fighting or Unarmed Fighting for their Fighting Style. Depends on if you want to lean into the brawler bit or not
After galaxy brain set in, they ended up manifesting echoes. But his echoes are a little weird, because their weapon is random and they have more of a galaxy coloration than a shadow
Flavors are same dual swords, canon!Ashton’s hammer, dual pistols, and a long spear/halberd. Higher levels could lead to more random weapon options
Some Events/Points of Interest
Orym picks out that Ashton's echoes die the same way the assassins did in the attack 6 years ago. Finds that to be a bit of a dead end, though, since Ashton has no clue why or how they have such a skill. He does insist on practicing fighting their echoes, though, just to get a better feel for such enemies
Dorian and FCG would bond more if FCG is a bard. Like Dorian teaches FCG a bit about playing a lute, but not a flute because FCG doesn't breathe
Fearne could pick up clues about Ruidus by communing with the Moonweaver. Or got hints before meeting everyone, but never put them together until Bells Hells started uncovering shit
Laudna could puppet Paté with those zombie mushrooms (in a bit of hand-wavy-ness since there's no actual brain in Paté) or Find Familiar him to life for a few hours at a time as a fey entity with the optional Wild Companion feature of the druid class
Chetney might be into chainsaw woodcarving, except with a huge battle ax instead of a chainsaw. If he is, he definitely tries to get FCG into this kind of carving with their buzzsaw
Ashton only personally learned how to fight with swords. Knowledge of how to use all the other weapons his echoes use just came with them. Say "thank you, galaxy brain"
Imogen can use her Telekinetic Feat to make an arrow turn. I honestly wanna say go full Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy, but that might be a bit much, if very cool
Orym's increased Charisma because that's the paladin spell casting stat means that he's better at arguing "fuck Ludinus and the Ruby Vanguard, they will build their 'better' world on a mountain of corpses"

Wrong Place, Wrong Time, Wrong Everything || Pt 2
The Vex tunnel shone like a distorted Warp space, neon latices forming and shattering, pieces of half-manifest Vex debris appearing and vanishing in an instant. Echo gripped the dual helm sticks she used to steer for all they were worth, desperately trying to keep on course while praying she wouldn’t burst into splinters.
“Echo! I see an end!” Whisper shouted, her guardian barely hearing her over the turbulence. “Keep holding on, we’re almost out!!!”
The cockpit shook violently as turbulence intensified, and for a moment, Echo thought she was going to be crushed by the sheer g forces pushing on her. Then, like the snap of a rubber band, they were out, the light of the Vex net vanishing as they escaped into real space.
The Velocimancer wobbled its wings, it's nose dipping as Echo throttled back and tried to regain her bearings. “We’re not dead?” She asked, blinking stars from her dazzled optics.
“Not yet,” Whisper answered quickly, “but we’ve got hostiles! Dog fighters ahead!”
The shapes of round, black ships with wings like twisted candy wrappers roared and twisted as long, more conventional shaped ships chased and were chased by the black candy fighters.
"What in the absolute-" Echo began when Whisper cut her off. "FIGHTERS UP TOP, DIVE 90-0-23!"
Echo pushed her flight sticks forward and down, sending her ship into a sharp nose dive as two fighters roared passed, swerving to avoid hitting her. Blue light trailed in the wake behind her as she went, but as she looked up from the front, she saw her position had revealed a whole space battle happening above her.
Two huge ships glided through space, trading canon fire like ketches of the Old Crews but bigger. Part of her thought of the large war freighters the Cabal had stationed protectively over the Last City, Psion star fighters ready to launch in their hanger bays, or that the Shadow Legion had stationed on Neomuna with their destructive Nighthawks and tanks.
Around one flew the black, candy-shaped ships, their engines roaring like angry ascendant hive knights. Meanwhile around another flew the white, needle-nosed ships trading red laser fire for green with the black ones. But with them were also odd ships that looked something like an Arcadian jump ship but with no wings and only its engines secured to the main body. What kind of ship was that?
Echo shook her head and glanced at her ghost. "Oh boy, Whisper triangulate our current position and get us the heck away from these guys. I don't want to be part of whatever party these guys are having."
Whisper chirped and extended her scanning reach. "Got it - ECHO!"
"HOLY--" Echo hauled on her helm sticks, maneuvering her ship as she threaded through a knot of fighting forces. In the moments the hunter had looked at the battle and glanced at her ghost, her ship had soared down and around the main part of the conflict only to find herself in the other half of it! Unbeknownst to her, she had come in at a split vector, right through the middle of the main forces of fighting and unfortunately like all dog fights, forces move.
"Hang on!" she shouted and shifted in her seat, weaving and juking as she tried to thread her way out of the battle. Finally, she saw an opening and took it and a whole planet opened up to her.
A planet! Her ship was made for interplanetary travel! If she could get down there, she could do a warp snap perpendicular to it, allowing her to get past the atmosphere and get to cover before she ended up mince meat for these dog fighters.
With that in mind, the long nosed jumpship wove its way through the fray, dodging red and green laser blasts as Echo tried to escape from the battle. With any luck, the other fighters would be too busy to worry about a blueberry like her. After all, from the looks of the war carriers, they had much bigger problems to deal with.

Should you fight my characters: Asura Edition
Tvekks Battle BGM: Tentacle Battle | Starbound
Tumblr media
Should you fight Tvekks? If you're a decent person, no. Sure, he used to be Inquest, but that's long in the past and he really doesn't mean any harm. He's more scared of you than anything else. You'd really just feel like a school bully shoving someone into a locker.
Who initiates the battle? You. Tvekks would not fight unless there is absolutely no way to escape. And he would try really, really hard to escape. He's more likely to die trying to escape than to actually fight.
Who would win? Very likely you. It's a stamina battle, you against a chronomancer manipulating time. If you can handle all the little rifts in time, there really isn't much that would physically hurt you.
Neljje Battle BGM: Shambhala | Fire Emblem: Three Houses I want to formally apologize to this little man for assigning him the awful fire emblem dubstep song but it's just the right amount of unhinged
Tumblr media
Should you fight Neljje? Maybe. Man's definitely a safety hazard to people, but the thing is that most of the time he doesn't have people around him. Probably rather to be left alone, but if you get an advantageous opportunity, fight him. Wouldn't hurt anyone to get rid of that one.
Who initiates the battle? That depends on the day. Might stay passive until provoked on some days, might attack on sight on other days. You'd be smarter to start the fight, since you're obviously better off not getting ambushed.
Who would win? How well do you handle an army of oversized zombie alien bugs shooting potent magic at range and then stabbing you with their sharp carapace legs in melee? If you can get past those, you may have a chance. If not, say your last prayer.
Phlish Battle BGM: One Who Bares Fangs At God | Xenogears
Tumblr media
Should you fight Phlish? Yes, you should. The little pest absolutely deserves an ass whooping.
Who initiates the battle? Could go either way. Likely you'll both mutually want to go at each other's throat.
Who would win? It depends on where you face him. A battle on land? You will likely win, even though he does put up a fight. A battle in the water? Hope you got your underwater combat figured out, because that's his element. Oh, also... you're not actually fighting the brat himself. You're fighting his (underwater specialized!) mech. Get past that, and the most hurtful thing you'll face is condescending talk.
Qissh Battle BGM: Guard Droid Battle | Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Tumblr media
Should you fight Qissh? No. There is really no reason why you should fight him. He wants peace. Leave him be.
Who initiates the battle? Under normal circumstances he would not; if you're part of a group of paparazzi he will start the fight.
Who would win? 50:50. His fighting style is self-defense more than anything else (he did mention he wanted to be left in peace), but he can definitely pack a punch. In the most likely scenario you would win because he decides to forfeit and leave.
Khivvi Battle BGM: The Fell God's Tempest | Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
Tumblr media
Should you fight Khivvi? Yes. From a moral standpoint there is absolutely nothing that should hold you back.
Who initiates the battle? Likely her. While she's not particularly interested in picking fights, she'll definitely attack first if she feels in any way provoked or threatened.
Who would win? It won't be easy, but you might emerge victorious. She's a fairly competent but not particularly passionate fighter. She's got some venomous pet help though, so be cautious about the toxins... they might become a problem well after you're done fighting.
Lahpp Battle BGM: Alexius | Dragon Age: Inquisition
Tumblr media
Should you fight Lahpp? Difficult. He may be dedicated to a morally questionable corporate environment, but he's not the worst of the bunch. You'd probably find some arguments to justify a fight, but ask yourself... where's your own morality if you decide to beat up a man in such fragile physical condition he'd drop dead without proper medical care even if people didn't beat him up. Actually you know what, don't fight him. Please.
Who initiates the battle? You. He's not stupid, he knows that he wouldn't last in a 1 on 1 battle that he can't end within the first few moments.
Who would win? While the odds are definitely in your favour, don't underestimate the range of a sniper rifle. Start off in a bad spot, and you're done for in a single shot. If the bullets don't get you (and you don't succumb to potential poisoning), you're definitely going to win this.
Hvitti Battle BGM: Autumnal Sky | Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen
Tumblr media
Should you fight Hvitti? Yes, but only if it's a mock-up battle. In that case, he'll gladly join you. Otherwise, no. He's literally done nothing wrong in his life ever.
Who initiates the battle? You both mutually agree to fight each other, mock-up battle or not. This is an honourful duel.
Who would win? He may not look imposing, but he's got a few years of experience as a soldier. That element of surprise might just be what he needs to win. Otherwise, in a fair battle everyone could potentially emerge victorious. Hopefully you both had fun regardless of the outcome.
Petthri Battle BGM: The Synapse - Combat | Deus Ex
Tumblr media
Should you fight Petthri? No. Morals completely aside, for your own safety's sake please don't pick a fight.
Who initiates the battle? He's generally peaceful, but if he has to he'll start the fight. Again, please don't start this.
Who would win? Picture this: an elementalist. Scary, I know. Now picture that: An elementalist who does not properly control any of the elements, not for a lack of skill, but for a lack of desire to be able to do so. This is chaos. Pure and utter chaos. You can't strategize around this, the only way you can win is by pure chance. You probably won't.
Luqqah Battle BGM: The Destroyer | Shovel Knight
Tumblr media
Should you fight Luqqah? Are you a fan of "the end justifies the means"? If you think murdering people for medical progress isn't the right way to proceed then fight her. You probably should.
Who initiates the battle? Depends entirely on the situation. You might want to start this fight yourself, but if she feels provoked enough she may just deliver the first blow.
Who would win? Luqqah isn't necessarily a trained fighter, but don't underestimate how lethal contact with the wrong kind of liquid can be. If you get through her ranged attacks you'll likely have a chance in close combat. Beware of any surprise needles though.

Starting a Call of the Netherdeep campaign soon. I’m playing an aasimar echo knight. Actually wrote down the backstory in my head for once :)
Aksha Gormlaith is from the small village of Ghuzokh, located in central Xhorhas. The population of Ghuzokh is about two-thirds orcs and half-orcs, one-third humans. However, while Aksha was born to human parents, she is actually an aasimar. On Exandria, aasimar are believed to be touched by messengers of the gods, even as the gods themselves are locked away from the material plane. The villagers of Ghuzokh, including Aksha's parents, see her birth as a sign that great things are imminent for the village: Aksha will bring them prosperity and glory.
The presence of the divine causes some strife within Ghuzokh. Much of the village still worships the Prime Deities, and believes that Aksha was blessed by one of them (likely Avandra or Kord). Due to proselytizing from the Kryn Dynasty, a growing faction within the village worships the Luxon instead, and believes that it has blessed Aksha rather than one of the Prime Deities. Some even suggest that her nature indicates that Aksha is ready to become an Umavi during this lifetime; however, despite being a young adult already, she has not yet had any memories of past lives surface.
---
Sparring and mock combat are popular sports in Ghuzokh, coming from its orc heritage. Aksha is trained as a fighter, and her preferred style is dual-wielding long swords. She is the best fighter in her age group, as expected by those who think she's a gift to the village. Her peers don't really care about that though, and aren't necessarily as pleased by her superiority.
In particular, she drew the enmity of a slightly younger half-orc named Chadrick Bonefletcher, who was particularly displeased that the Luxonite faction within the village grew emboldened with Aksha's birth. After one defeat in mock combat, he followed her after the bout and attacked her out of public sight. For breaching battle etiquette and assaulting a fellow villager, he was exiled from Ghuzokh, for which he holds an additional grudge against Aksha.
---
Aksha isn't a mundane fighter: she's an echo knight. She wasn't trained in harnessing dunamis by members of the Kryn Dynasty, but rather her powers presented themselves when she was in danger as a child. Having fallen into a ravine outside the village while playing, a fortunate hand reached in and pulled her to safety. The hand belonged to another young girl, whose features were a reflection of her own. But whereas Aksha was fair of skin and hair, seeming to glow faintly in the light, this other girl seemed to be veiled behind a layer of shadow that absorbed more light than it should.
Back home, Aksha's parents were nonplussed by this apparition and tried to send it away. But when it was in Aksha's bedroom upon waking the next morning, her parents decided it must be another aspect of the divine gift, and resigned themselves to having a weird second daughter. Aksha named her Seema, after an imaginary friend she had when she was younger.
Seema doesn't talk, and follows Aksha everywhere. Even in places where Seema shouldn't be, she becomes present if Aksha is there. While it would be dishonorable for Seema to join in while Aksha is dueling, they train together, and learned to fight as a pair as well. Seema is exactly as competent a swordswoman as Aksha is. A freeform combat with the two of them against an enemy is a sight to behold, as they fight as though with a single mind.
---
Deep within her body, Aksha feels a well of power waiting to be tapped into. This frightens her, but she knows that one day she'll be backed into a corner and will need to unleash it. When she does, the power overflows from her eyes and mouth as radiant beams, and the faint glow of her skin increases to blinding levels. The searing light burns her foes and imbues her blows with divine might.
While Aksha seems to channel the sun, the shadows around Seema deepen precipitously. Beams of darkness spill from her eyes and mouth, and her skin becomes a black hole from which no light can escape.
---
Aksha came to Jigow to prove herself. She's demonstrated her prowess in Ghuzokh, and believes it's time to earn her destined glory in the outside world. Jigow's Festival of Merit seems like the perfect scene to show off her strength and fighting skill, and start getting people's eyes on her. Plus, maybe a real city will have someone with insight into the source of her power, rather than relying on the superstitions of her village elders and the clearly biased drow missionaries.

Also there are few axe classes in the early games. In the first three games, you will really only face axe enemies when your army is fighting criminals.
In Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Fighters and Pirates are the only classes that can use axe weapons. Note they cannot promote/class change, though this applies to quite a few classes here.
In Gaiden, Brigands are the only axe class and is enemy exclusive. Even in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, only one additional monster classes can use axes.
In Mystery of the Emblem, pirate is made enemy exclusive and is joined by two new axe classes, Brigand and Barbarian. Despite most classes gaining promotions in Mystery and Barbarian being basically a tier 2 fighter, Fighters are still single tier like Thieves.
Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War is a bit better as there are now axe and armor variants, also Fighter can finally promote. The cavalry variants are Axe cavalier which promotes to Great Knight and the unplayable Axe Armor as well as the playable General which can use all the weapon trinagle plus bows.
There is also the playable Master Knight, which can use all physical weapons and all non dark magic, and its unplayable armored counterparts, Baron and Emperor. But your Master Knights, Lachesis and Leif will rarely want to use axes anyhow.
Thracia 776 gave Heroes the ability to use axes, which helped alot in making more axe users. This was the system, the GBA games followed.
Yeah checks out that it would have to be pre GBA since. You know, Hector
Also LACHESIS IS A MASTER KNIGHT? Did she just get shafted in Heroes?
*googles* ok no she just has Aerith levels of "if you're insane and take the time to train her you will get something busted for a bit before she bites it"

Sole Heir - FFXIV Write 2023 - Day 27: Heir
Warning: Graphic Violent Imagery and Familial Abuse Depicted
Ao3
-
The dummies fell to pieces in seconds beneath the weight of the mighty great sword. More a chunk of metal meant to crush than a blade meant to clear as a blow made the wood of the false soldier creak and crackle for mercy. There would be none. The weapon raised again with a single heavy hand and brought it down with extreme prejudice. All that remained was a pile of splinters and smashed rivets of metal that once held everything into the vague human shape it once possessed.
Snoebryda just tilted her head. Her neck loudly cracked, sending a small rush of relief coursing through her stiff shoulders. It was mid-winter, snow softly falling in fat, fluffy clumps that would slowly build into inches of snow once the sun came down. Most of the other trainers around her had thick, quilted shirts beneath their armor to ward away the fridge bite of winter. The princess had no armor nor outer layers, stripped to a simple shirt and trousers. Even her feet were not safe, wearing boots that seemed like they had not been changed in nearly a decade, all too small for the towering woman’s feet. She could just endure the chills by moving, keeping her blood warm and sweat dripping.
“What’s wrong, Princess?! Can’t take on a foe unless he’s down?!” a cruel, foolish voice echoed across the courtyard. She stopped wailing on broken dummies to turn her head slowly in hopes the heckler would have time to hide himself. He didn’t, of course, standing proudly in the open, a merchant’s sim that freshly joined the ranks, if she remembered right.
Behind him, Cwinleita leaned against the wall. Her lips spread into that vicious, demanding smile that made Snoebryda’s stomach sink. Poor boy had just had his fate decided.
“Duel me.” Was all she said back. She left her long, wild red hair cast a shadow over her face as she turned towards the rookie. Dragging her feet across the slushy ground, hoping something could stop her from doing this. The soldier just stood there, dumbfounded as the princess approached, before she towered before him. “Duel me, and you can see how well I can handle myself against an opponent.”
Before the boy could back out, Cwinleita swept in, giving the boy a hearty pat on the back. “You should accept, you know. It would be a shame to waste this valuable opportunity, a duel at the request of the princess.” The captain spoke with sweetness, all her venom hidden behind the facade of a caring superior, dooming this greenhorn. She nodded and faced Snoebryda with a cocky grin.
“I’ll try not to rough you up too hard, Your Highness.” He scoffed. Snowbryda couldn’t bring herself to respond, just turning away to grab her weapon before the grimace on her face could be noticed.
After mulling over the choices, she opted for her ‘knuckles.’ They were more like gauntlets. Heavy, dull-spiked fists that easily weighed twenty or thirty pounds. A mercy, compared to the polished spear or swords she often threw her weight around with. She was so unskilled with these, she hoped that would spare her opponent some injury. Some of the other new soldiers gathered to watch, hooting and hollering for either fighter. Others watched, but with lips tight pressed and eyes heavy with burden. Others refused to turn their heads from their training. Those were the smartest. They knew what was coming, and didn’t need to witness any more.
The knight used a shield and a sword, but neither would protect him. Snoebryda just stood in wait, feeling the snow wreath itself into her red tresses as Cwinleita stepped in to stand as the referee. She raised her hand. Everything around the young woman was vibrating, already blurring into shapeless bits of color and motions.
“Begin!”
The glove dropped. It was over before it even began.
She knocked both his weapons to the ground with a single sweep of her fist. That would be the end for most of these sorts of fights, but not for Snoebryda. Not when that sadistic captain’s eyes bore into the back of her skull, that grin stretched across her haunting white teeth in want of a show. One she had no choice to give, else the consequences-
The princess swallowed back bile at the thought, and struck. A swift uppercut to the boy’s lower jaw, gashes blossoming into lovely petals of blood as his eyes glazed with the shock of the hit. Still not enough. She straddled his body, full weight making him wheeze as he looked up at her. The smell of fear was acidic and vile, ammonia and iron to her nose. His eyes watered as he choked and struggled to speak, blood and a little spit dribbling from his mouth. He quivered as a boy who had never known fear as she bore down on him. If all was silent, she wouldn’t know, as her heartbeat was too loud to hear.
“P-Please-”
She clenched her hands together and slammed the gauntlets into his face. The cartilage stretched before crumpling, blood quick to gush and fill the crevices in her weapons. She needed to stop that before it began, else she’d hesitate. Her ears rang as she just… did. The vibrations of his voice, his screams vibrated through the metal, but that only pushed her to hit harder. To blot out the noise before he could give her nightmares. Without glasses, everything was just a mess of colors, slowly dyed red as blood splattered and soaked all her gauntlets came in contact with. It was a mercy, is what she told herself.
It’s what she had to tell herself.
She blinked and suddenly she was thrown off into the snow, her back drenched in wet. The sounds echoed in as the ringing faded. Her eyes locked skyward into the dark gray cloud. She heard the screams of a doctor. Gagging, prayers, and a distinct shout of a destroyed eye. In contrast to the wet chill on her back, her front was warm. Blood was always so sticky on her skin, staining her white flesh as vibrant as the snow. She must have looked like a ghost rising from the frozen earth, as icy looking as the Aerslaent winter could get.
“Excellent work, Snoebryda!” Cwinleita’s cackle was an arrow hitting her in the back, dragging her down to earth after the adrenaline was high. She could feel every heartbeat, hear even the breathing of the farthest off soldier in the training ground. Each layer of skin, and hair, and fluids sent signals of every nerve she had, making her sick with sensation. The captain pounded her fist on the princess’ back, leaving a bruise in con congratulations. “You’re done for the day. Go rest, you earned it.”
She didn’t want to leave. Snoebryda wanted to stay, to help to boy as they loaded him onto a stretcher, to apologize and beg forgiveness. But to go against Cwinleita would have done her no favors, and the eyes of the other recruits were already turning back in her direction. Sharp, dagger-like stares that made her throat tighten with shame. She turned and left, before she’d be forced to make any more enemies today.
Her room wasn’t even the solace it should have been, locks long removed on the door. She threw off her clothes and drifted into the bathroom. Steam and scalding water were a relief to her aching bones and body. She happily endured the pain of near boiling water in contrast to the freeze she’d endured since morning. The blood flowed off in a steady wave, soon the only mark of her brutality earlier being the bruise on her back. She stayed beneath the stream, sitting on the stone floor until her head swam from the heat.
It wasn’t long after she dried herself and slipped into a dress did a maid enter. Bowing her head and giving a deep curtsy, she delivered the most dour news. “Dinner is ready. His Majesty will join you this night.”
“Understood. Excused.” She tried not to speak too coldly to the woman, but it was hard for Snoebryda to muster any energy to hide her bitterness, her exhaustion after such a day. All she wanted was for it to be over. So she hurried out the door and to the dining room. Any one making a wide berth of the ‘mad heirs’ path.
The personal dining chamber of the Rogankoan’s family was still massive by comparison to the family dining rooms Snoebryda had seen in books. It could easily fit thirty people, once a grand hall meant to be shared amongst siblings and cousins and nieces and nephews. Now only two strangers shared food over the table. Yet the king still sat at the head of the table, gorging on food as if he had rich company all around. The red-haired child moved near silent to her seat at his left, staring at the meager play she had to fill with her dinner.
“Snoebryda,” her father greeted, his voice like a dying toad’s croak. He’d grown older and wider over time, easily filling the seat of his throne. “Cwinleita told me you got into a fight while training.”
“A beginner knight dared to speak ill of me, so we dueled and settled the matter with a test of strength.” She lied, as she had learned to do. Her father didn’t stop eating, ripping the meat from bird bones, grease dripping down his heavy fingers. She kept her eyes squarely on her empty plate as the sound made her curl her fingers into her legs in disgust. “If he speaks ill again, he won’t be able to speak anymore.”
“If that’s a worry you have, you should have dealt with it. The idea alone warrants such caution.” His scolding was a quick lash, nothing she flinched at anymore, but added to the weight balancing on her shoulders. Less and less the food in front of her seemed appetizing with her father right there. But going a night without food would make training the next day worse. She grabbed a little of everything and shoveled it into her mouth before she could think too hard about it.
“Honestly, I don’t have a clue what to do with you anymore… you fail at even the most basic of things a ruler should know.” He filled himself with a hefty glass of Garlean wine, the scent of sour grapes wafting from the goblet. “At least that needn’t be a concern for much longer.”
“… What do you mean by that, Father?” Snoebryda asked, lowering her fork from her mouth. Her stomach was too twisted to manage anymore, some sense of wrongness filling the air.
“I met with a Garlean ambassador today, is all.” He said it nonchalantly, as if he’d been visited by an old friend instead of the conquerors their ancestors had sworn their nation’s fealty and loyalty. “And as vassals of the empire, they appreciate our kingdom’s aid and devotion in the form of soldiers. But they think a better bond could be forged. So we’ve planned to have you sent to Garlemald to meet with some high-ranking military and noble families to find a husband.”
Snoebryda took a long time to process his words. Pouring over them thrice in her mind to make sure she heard right. It was difficult to describe the instant rush of emotions that coursed through her body. She couldn’t tell if it was rage or panic that made her fingers shake, sadness or fury that threatened to block up her throat. All of it melded into one swirl of colors so intense she nearly whited out. She stayed awake, thankfully, swallowing everything down before she spoke. “I don’t understand. That- I wouldn’t be able to rule.”
“A shame, but for the best, really. Try everything we may. You don’t have the strength to manage the throne on your own. If we’re lucky, your husband will have a better eye for such things and I can name him my heir.”
His words left her feeling naught but cold, more frozen than the snow that fell just outside the window. Her fury morphed and changed, flickering between hot and icy. That weight on her shoulders cracked. She had long stopped counting the days, the years of this painful regime her father called ‘training.’ Snoebryda endured the pain, the judgment, the sleepless nights and social demand. She was as educated as she was strong, no matter how often the word ‘weak’ was flung at her and made her feel the need to collapse in. The princess had played nice with sloppy boys and stupid old fools that populated his parties, and beaten peoples as close to death as she could get away with hiding the bleeding heart that still aches in her chest over every cruel act she witnessed in these castle walls.
All deemed worthless. More than half her life, a failure, some stranger would need to pick up the slack for once he got her status of heir to the throne.
“No.”
“Hm?”
She looked her father in the eyes. They were shadowed under his heavy brow, lightless and cold. Snoebryda had long avoided looking too close in a mirror for fear her eyes would look so close to his.
“I refuse to concede my status as the sole heir to some Garlemald fool.” It took far too much of her strength not to cuss, but it was heard in her tone. One her father clearly didn’t appreciate as he wiped his hands clean, the signet ring that declared him as king flashing bright on his finger.
“Don’t you dare raise your voice to me!”
He instantly devolved into shouting, his voice reaching across the room and bouncing right back at her. All too quick her throat swelled shut, fight nor flight saving her as the man slammed his fist into the table, rattling everything.
“You believe my word is to be tested?! Your knowledge exceeds mine?! You are nothing! You have always been a pathetic, sniveling coward of a child! I tried to give you a chance, and you failed! Why can’t you accept that this was your doing alone, and this is the route by which I grant you the mercy of being useful to this kingdom’s future? To ensure at least we keep our blood on the throne! Would you rather I throw you out?!”
He went on and on, but after a certain point, Snoebryda couldn’t register them anymore. He could not be as loud as her thoughts. Racing, rushing. Long had her mind been silent whenever the fury of her father arose, but now it served only as fuel to her fire. Let him rage, let him seethe. But she would not endure any more. At least, not without a plan.
“Forgive me, Father.” Snoe buoyed her head low, a sign of reverence to her sire. The act stopped him dead in his tracks, huffing in shock. She continued, “I was in shock, and spoke too hastily. I hope you can forgive such disrespect.”
Each word was practiced and familiar, several of many canned phrases she had stored in her head. He was silent for a long time before snapping. “Return to your room.”
As cold as it was, it was a small sign to Snoebryda the false reverence worked. She quickly took her leave, head held high as she walked with purpose, already plotting paths around her.
If all she had endured was to amount to being a prize gifted to some man and shoved out of the spotlight, she’d give her father exactly what he wished for. She would leave, and no one would remain with a proper claim to the Aerslaent throne.
Snoebryda Rogankoanwyb would disappear, taking her ‘weakness’ and all that entailed. While a dangerous thought, it was one that filled her with glee yet. For it meant freedom, finally getting to see a world beyond the castle walls.

class, playtest, scheduling, dice AND secret&heart for my grumpy gorls? 👀👀👀
i am delighted every time u pop in for these ask games!
Class: What’s your favorite class to play?
i am a sucker for a druid or a barbarian i can't lie (but i have a tendency to wander so i dabble in pretty much every class)
Playtest: What class (or subclass) do you want to try out?
so many i was not kidding when i said i tend to wander, i wanna try everything
first ones to come to mind at the moment are echo knight fighter, shadow sorcerer, and genie patron warlock
Scheduling: Do you prefer to play in long campaigns, oneshots, or something in between?
hmm... i have done one shots, and i am currently in a couple long campaigns (like 7+ years long mostly due to circumstances). i think i would really enjoy something in the middle, to really be able to stretch out a character but also to be more sure that we will be able to get to an ending yknow?
Dice: Do you have any dice rituals? Preferences? Collections? Does such thing as dice luck really exist?
i like to pick out dice that have a coloring/theme connected to the character i'm playing. i used to do "lets roll all my d20s and see who's doing the best" but i have. a few too many for that now honestly
my dice preference is more
my dice collection is also kinda spread out right now, i have my bag of miscellaneous dice and my two metal sets next to me atm, my case of all my other sets of dice at my friends place, and then i have a couple Extra Large dice that i keep in my room
dice luck doesn't exist but the dice do have a story they wanna tell and you just gotta accept that
Secret: Is there anything that you know about your character but your character doesn’t know? What is it? How did you come up with this secret?
i don't tend to make things that i know that my character doesn't? if my character doesn't know it, i don't either and i leave it up to the DM unless they ask me to do it specifically
Flint: the campaign for her kinda fell apart which is very sad BUT it does mean that i know everything the DM had planned for it and i have absolutely no reason not to share! so you get all the wild juice details and i would say the biggest thing i know that she doesn't (even tho i didn't come up with it) is that she has a sister out there in the world somewhere who came about as a result of cloning experiments that used her mothers' DNA
Wyn: this is a little bit more of a 'she is in full on denial', but a little while ago a false hydra ate one of the party members and erased her from everyone's memories. we got the party member back, but not the memories, and now Wyn is hellbent on getting those memories back at all costs. and the thing is, it's most likely impossible. i know that this quest is almost definitely futile but Wyn doesn't and will not believe it unless literally her deity descends from the heavens to tell her so himself
Heart: What drives your character? Do they have a theme, question, mission, etc. that they’re holding onto? How did you pick it for them?
Flint: the number one thing that drove them was the desire to keep on surviving. Flint's extended family was the ruling nobility of a country, and also the only aasimar in this world, so when most of them were wiped out (by the emperor, a distant cousin of hers and the only other survivor as far as she knows), it left her not only as the sole carrier of her direct family's memory, but also one of the only aasimar left in the world, and that is a responsibility and a burden. they only survived because they had kind of betrayed their family and so they lie and hide their identity and do whatever it takes to survive as kind of an extended apology, hoping for absolution in the act of keeping the remains of their family alive in them.
i picked that mainly because i had already decided on Flint being an aasimar and part of this noble family, and then when i learned about the family deaths i just kind of followed the logic; how do you survive that? and what kind of person do you become afterward?
Wyn: my darling girl is a paladin, of course she has a mission! and it is to protect the world from an interplanar war, and the careless and cruel actions of extraplanar creatures that could wreak havoc without even realizing it. she wants to protect people, and she wants to protect this plane, and she wants to make up for her mistakes (it was partially her actions that led to this war getting started and by golly does she know how to bear a cross about it)
and actually i didn't so much choose this as it happened naturally. first level first session Wyn didn't want to be a paladin. she didn't want to be out in the world doing anything, much less helping people, and her intense desire to escape the fate set out for her by her god led directly to her signing a contract and getting mixed up with things far greater than herself. experiencing the world also made her care about it more, and seeing the consequences of her actions (and the other ways things could have gone), turned all that on its head, and now she is determined to make up for doubting her god and trying to reject her calling

Rogue (95), Bard (91), Monk (43), Ranger (41), Warlock (38)
Swashbuckler rogue (21), Glamour bard (13), Mercy monk (9), Drunken monk, Wild Magic sorcerer (8)
I also (although less consistently) collected continent/setting predictions. Marquet was the top (49), then Issylra (29) and the Shattered Teeth (22). For non-continent settings, some form of Spelljammer was the top (19), followed by the Age of Arcanum (17), and Planescape/Planehopping (15). Underdark, Ravenloft, Blightshore, and a return to Tal'Dorei were also suggested multiple times.
Much longer and rambly discussion (and my own predictions) under the break.
Top predicted races were Dwarf, Elf, and Human (~100). Dwarf and Elf haven't been played before, so that tracks, and I don't think it's out there to assume we'll get at least one human again. Also, post the whole thing with Essek and long rests, people really started jumping on Elves (which, fair). Warforged, Dragonborn, Tabaxi, Genasi, Tieflings, and Changelings all are pretty prominent (~50).
Of the races not yet established as existing in Exandria, Warforged and Changeling were the most popular (Warforged now dubiously canon post-Aeor, and Changelings dubiously canon with the LoVM bartender), followed by Shifters, Leonin, Kalashtar, Fairies, Grung, Ravnica races (Loxodon, Simic Hybrid, Vedalken), Van Richten's Races (Dhampir, Reborn, Hexblood). Locathah and the other Feywild/Strixhaven races are the only officially published races at 0 suggestions. The lowest previously seen race is Gobins at 2, one of which was for Sam again, and the lowest PHB race was Half-Orc at 17.
Class wise, Sorcerer was actually the most predicted class (which kind of tracks, as it's the one that hasn't shown up even as multiclass), followed by Cleric (generally assumed as compulsory), Paladin (only as a multiclass), and Rogue (also assumed as compulsory, but way less so. Not surprisingly, Bloodhunter, Ranger, and Artificer were the lowest.
Wild Magic Sorcerer was far and away the most suggested subclass, the only one to break 50, although it hasn't hit 100 quite yet (I think it will by the time the final characters are announced though). EK Fighter, Lycan Blooodhunter, Forge Cleric, Swashbuckler Rogue, Wild Soul Barbarian, Stars Druid, Glamour Bard, Bladesinger Wizard, Eloquence Bard, and Echo Knight Fighter are the other top subclasses.
Every official subclass has been suggested except for Berserker Barbarian, Grave Cleric, and Transmutation Wizard (previously played), Battlerager Barbarian and Banneret/Purple Dragon Knight (SCAG subclasses, which are widely unpopular), and the dubiously-official Planeshift subclasses. Open Seas Paladin is the only Matt homebrew to not be suggested at least once. For dead UA, Satire Bard, Brute Fighter, Giant Soul and Stone Sorcerer, and Raven Queen Warlock have all been suggested, usually only once, although many of the suggestions were collected while classes were in UA for Tasha's, Van Richten's, and Fizban's which is technically still UA but announced so...
With Travis, the predictions bounce between two main ideas - a melee spellcaster (Forge/War/Tempest cleric, Bladesinger/War wizard), or going back to a melee class (Bloodhunter, Fighter) but with a bit more mechanical interest (Lycan, EK/Echo/Rune/Battlemaster). I think those are both solid predictions, and while I really, really doubt we'll see a Lycan bloodhunter or a Forge cleric, I think the general vibe is probably spot on.
My own prediction is one of the more out there, but still in line with the general thinking - Artillerist Artificer. Travis is definitely a very tactical player, and it would be cool to see him get a turret for the battlefield, plus all the general utility/versatility of the artificer. Alternatively, I really could see a rogue, although more like what Mastermind or Inquisitive is trying for as opposed to how they actually turned out, if that makes sense.
Race wise, the top guesses are fairly plain, outside of shifter (which is mostly tied into the "werewolf" vibe). None of them would shock me, but I don't have any predictions.
I think that everyone's right on the money with Marisha as a paladin. Her next character being high charisma seems spot on, and I think moving to a half-caster also tracks. EK/Echo/Rune/Psi fighters would also fit, although they don't lean towards high charisma, or a warlock, maybe a more melee one.
Rogue seems unlikely purely due to the fact she's played one before, kind of. Matt and Marisha have both talked some, but her first game wasn't Vox Machina, but a previous game Matt had run where she'd played an assassin. You can do non-assassiny rogues, but still.
(Other fun facts about this game because it's wild: apparently the session she sat in on before playing involved half the party getting eaten by ghouls. the party joined up with another half-tpk'd party (marisha and the replacement characters) to get the raven queen to bring their dead friends back, and a fate-touched rogue swore service to the Raven Queen in order to bring the last party member back.)
My prediction for Marisha is also paladin, although I don't have any thoughts on the subclass, with genie warlock as a second because they are fun. No real thoughts on race other than I too would love to see tiefling Marisha.
Most people are going with a support caster for Liam, which I totally buy. Caleb definitely leaned towards support caster, even if he usually did end up played as DPS. Druid has taken the top given the polymorph->wildshape vibe, although it's still very yclose with Bard and Cleric. Suggestions for fighter dropped after EXU, and while Liam does play a lot of fighters, I doubt we'll see it for C3.
Honestly, Liam is the one I have no predictions for outside of 'support caster'. I'd lean away from Cleric and towards Druid or Bard, but it's hard to say. I also think Artificer deserves to be in the running, as it seems like something Liam would really enjoy, but also...might not want to go Int-caster to Int-caster. My only real thought on race is that I want to see whether Marisha and Liam choose the same again.
Top guesses for Sam is, far and away, Wild Magic Sorcerer. This was also the top guess for C2. I do not think Sam will play a Wild Magic Sorcerer. In general, though, the vibe is going back to fullcaster - Sorcerer, Cleric, Druid, Wizard. I think full caster is probably right.
Sam is so hard to predict because it isn't what he'd choose, but what Liam chose for him. I think it's either something really standard or something really out there, and since I can't guess the really out there, I'll go for the standard - Elf Wizard or Dwarf Cleric, leaning towards Dwarf Cleric, due to the support class and the fact that Sam's mentioned never playing a religious character.
The main vibe for Laura is definitely "DPS" which is understandable. I don't know if I agree with it, but I understand it. Aside from Barbarian, the rest of the vibe is spellcaster - and I don't think we'll see a completely no magic character from her either.
Prediction wise...I understand barbarian, but I'd actually go with Ancestor or Beast over Wild Soul. I could actually see a Bloodhunter from her too, although leaning away from Vex vibes. I think I'd want to go with Wizard, though I'm not certain on that. I would bet Tabaxi but idk, I could see her avoiding that for Travis' sake.
Everyone always names Taliesin as the hardest to predict (he had the lowest count at 354, under even Ashley at 365, to everyone else's ~380/400) but I don't think he's harder to predict than Sam. The thing that makes him hard to predict is that he likes to build characters to fit the party, which he (probably) won't be doing, same as with Molly. The other main thing he tends towards is mechanical complexity in a way that suits his characters.
The main driving influence in the top suggestions is Eldritch Weirdness. Aberrant Sorc, Whispers Bard, Phantom Rogue, Warlock in general. I don't disagree with any of the subclasses, but I really don't think he'd go eldritch for eldritch sake, if for at the very least being...he has always been this weird and it's yet to be a driving force behind any of his characters before. Like the Taliesin-is-an-elder-god thing, I think this is mostly people who don't hang out around occultists. Look, I've had multiple people sell me their actual souls, and you don't see all my characters being warlocks.
That being said, I don't think I disagree with the top classes, just the subclasses. I definitely agree with Sorcerer as a good choice for him, although I'd actually go Clockwork, as I think it has a fuck-with-the-DM vibe. Taliesin is the most heavily suggested for dunamancy subclasses, which wouldn't surprise me, but I think he might avoid on the sole point of not wanting something too tied with the last campaign. A lot of people also name the psionic subclasses, which I'd be more likely to second if they had kept the weird mechanic from the UA, but don't disagree with, excepting my issue with Aberrant Mind.
My out there guess is that he's going to choose a multiclass build. He definitely enjoys playing around with weird builds (Owlbear, he did a non-CR oneshot as a monk/stars druid). On the one hand, a lot of these builds work best for oneshots or starting at higher levels, as they can take a bit of time to come online, but with such a large party, I think it will still function.
(my actual prediction for Taliesin is that his character is weirdly reminiscent of either the aasimar echo knight or the elf blood cleric from the exandria game I'm running.)
Ashley is being predicted as a Dex/Cha build, and I'm totally here for it. Pre-Fearne, I was leaning Ranger, especially Fey Wanderer for a fey build, but post-Fearne, I'm going Rogue, especially Swashbuckler. I agree that seeing a high Cha Ashley would be great, especially to let her be more center-focused than Yasha had been, and swashbucklers are just...really fun. Also, the whole Aeor arc really left me wanting to see Ashley as the go-ahead-and-scout character, just to watch her push buttons.
For continents...I understand why people are guessing Marquet, since it's currently the most explored. I think that if they're going to do Marquet, then Matt will sit down with a cultural consultant. I say will over should, because I won't make any value judgements, but I think it's in line with what Matt and CR would do in that situation.
I can't really tell whether this is a prediction or what I'd like to see (the two are distinct but often difficult to untangle) but I'd actually go with Issylra, and specifically playing up the (at least initial) set up of explorers and adventurers heading out into the wilds. I will also place my bets on them having some sort of more steady home base, and my hopes on that they get an airship. My wildest out there guess is that the plot will move towards either planescape/spelljammer in the upper levels, tying into some of the seeds from the end of C2.
I have seen a handful of people predicting table seating order, which is both very minor and also the thing that I may be most interested in. A while back, someone made a post pointing out that the main romantic relationships were all cross-table, while the strongest platonic relationships were same-table or side by side. Because I am the sort of person that I am, I did statistical analysis on ao3 fics....and it's statistically significant. So I am trying to see whether or not, based purely on C3E1, I'll be able to predict what the top ships for the campaign will be.
This rambling has mostly gotten out of hand because I don't have much opportunity to talk about this, but, you know. If you send me predictions I will give you the current odds gambling style, so that you'd know how much you'd win if you'd place a bet, because I did the tables up as a joke for something else and now I kind of want them to be used for something.
