Had a surprisingly decent time today with my mom. Almost felt normal for a lot of it. She did end up spouting some stuff about being able to Sense People and animals' emotions. Including literally mind melding a few times??? & I was just like "Uh-huh 🙂" bc I didn't wanna be mean hfkshfkd. But I guess it's normal for anyone related to me to be a little kooky

Quizzes End Up In Kisses ~ Peter Parker💕
Part-7 of the Eight Days Of Valentine series
Part 8
Warnings: fluff, thank you.
Sorry for I'm late. Also, I don't know anything about schooling system in the U.S. so forgive me.
Tumblr media
Middle school was exhausting, not to mention stupid, and you dreaded going to High school. Going everyday to a place for nearly your whole life, a prison called school, was never on your checklist. It was a pretty basic list and all the things you would want to do one day were mentioned in it.
And Peter Parker had managed to get on the top.
Entering Liz's house, you were met with loud noise and kids scattered all around the living area. The snacks and drinks were placed neatly on the kitchen slab. You sighed before moving in and placing your small gift in the pile that was placed near the christmas tree. You were invited to the party by Liz and you had nothing better to do on a Christmas eve and maybe you would find Peter here too. MJ was in the extreme corner of the room which was illuminated by a bright lamp under which she read a book. You smiled at her and her book choice, 'Great Leadership by Kimberly Davis.'
You moved towards the kitchen where you spotted Liz greeting her friends. The party went on, you stuck to MJ in the back until she needed to get back home and you didn't.
Few people were still left, probably close friends of Liz, when you spotted Ned and Peter near the window, whispering something to each other. You moved towards them setting aside the glass of juice.
"Hey Peter, Ned!" You greeted cheerfully. Ned waved, greeting you back while Peter straightened a bit, the soft light hid the mild blush covering his cheeks. It wasn't hard for you, or anyone for that matter, to figure out that he liked you. He wasn't good with secrets.
"Hey, (y/n)." He replied when Ned cleared his throat . You didn't want to seem desperate by asking him out or truth be told, you were shy yourself and didn't want to convert your friendship into awkwardness.
The room was starting to clear and you were now having a proper conversation with both the boys, majorly about school and homework when a loud voice pulled you out of the on-going topic.
"Hey losers!" Flash yelled, indicating the three of you."You need to come here." He called out, you rolled your eyes but nonetheless moved to where everyone left was gathered in a small circle. You sat beside Liz as everyone settled down and Liz started talking, "So, I have a game for everyone." She grinned and then you zoned out, staring at the boy in front of you. Brown eyes squinted slightly in concentration as he tried so hard to steal a glance at you whereas you were, absentmindedly, full on gaping at him. Only, you, Liz, Betty, Flash, Ned and Peter were left in the room.
"(Y/n), you wanna put something in?" Liz asked, popping your Peter bubble.
"What?" You asked, not having listened to a word she said.
"You wanna put something in the bag?" She pointed to the small bag placed in the centre. Where would it even come from, "And since you're the last one, you get to have the first chance." She grinned. By now, it wasn't really hard to guess that the group was playing seven minutes in heaven.
You grabbed the bag and got up, throwing your bracelet in when no one was watching and shaking the bag. You fished the bag and pulled out a small keyring which was way too familiar. A blush covered your cheeks as you realised whose it was. A small Darth Vader keyring that you gave Peter on his birthday. You looked to Peter who looked like a reindeer caught in headlights. You heard Flash laugh, "Do you think these guys are going to hold hands?"
Soon you were pushed into a room, Peter just behind you as Liz locked the door.
You sat on Liz's bed and Peter stood against the wall across you, the tension was undeniable. A few minutes were passed in silence before Peter cleared his throat and sat beside you on the bed. You watched him in anticipation as he ran his fingers through his hair, "(Y/n), you know, we don't have to do anything just because Flash would probably never leave this."
You felt a bit disappointed but you couldn't let Flash tease Peter for this, "Yeah, I know how to shut Flash up." You smiled.
You told Flash that you had made out with Peter and the look on his face was precious. Maybe it would be the other way around and instead of Flash teasing Peter, you would tease Flash for Peter had his first kiss before him. No one has to know that he didn't.
.•°☆°•..•°☆°•..•°☆°•.
It's been almost a year since then and everybody but you had forgotten that night. And you could never.
You saw Peter leaning against your locker as you made your way through the sea of teenagers.
"Hey!" You greeted your best friend, "Where's Ned?"
"Maths." He answered, shrugging. You smiled at him as you pulled out your Chemistry textbook.
"I'm already bored seeing this textbook." You complained walking beside Peter as you began your trip to the classroom.
"I know, Mr. Smith can be tough on us kids at times." He laughed, watching as you rolled your eyes at no one. "By the way, you prepared for the test?"
"Nope." You replied as soon as the question left his mouth, popping the p in the word.
"Well, you need to. This test makes up 33 percent of our total grades this semester." You sighed at this, nodding your head in understanding as you reached the class.
.•°☆°•..•°☆°•..•°☆°•.
You were at your desk for the past one hour, staring at your Chemistry textbook. Oh how you hated the subject. You were dozing off when you heard a series of knocks on your window. Although knowing it was the one and only, you were shocked and awakened from your sleep.
You ran to the window, unlocking it and letting your masked friend inside before locking it and pulling the curtains. Peter was always careless, not at all good at hiding his identity considering that you figured out, but you saved his ass.
"I'm so jealous of you." You complained and his eyebrows furrowed.
"Why?" He asked.
"You know, you get to do all cool superhero stuff and you're still gonna face that test tomorrow!" You exclaimed, burying your face in his chest and taking in his warmth as he wrapped his arms while laughing, "My mom is gonna kill me." You sighed.
"Okay, let's practice together then." He stated, moving towards your study.
"Aren't you tired?" You asked.
"Not for you, I'm not." He replied shyly and turned away from you to hide his own blush as a faint pink covered your cheeks.
Studying with Peter was rather distracting, not that you haven't done it before, but with time it seemed to have become difficult to focus on the subject and you were more interested in the pout that formed on his lips when he didn't understand something, or the way he squinted his eyes to focus, or the way his fingers played with the pencil when he was thinking something, or the way his eyebrows creased when he got an answer wrong. You were so busy admiring him.
"Okay, I got a good question for you." Peter said, pulling you out of your own little world.
"Shoot."
"And element X is divalent -" He started but you groaned, cutting him off.
"Oh, I hate X and Y questions!" You whined.
"Come on, you don't even know the question yet." Peter replied, "You need to practice if you want to get good grades on that test."
"Okay, I'll study. But, I have one condition." You said, smirking and Peter gulped. He knew that smirk. Something bad was going inside your mind whenever you did this. Before he could ask anything, though, you said, "If I answer ten of your questions correctly then you have to kiss me." You said. Your heartbeat was incredibly fast but your face showed the same smirk as Peter's cheek turned a crimson shade.
"Okay." He said, "I got some questions for you." He smirked, choosing the set of questions that he knew you would be able to answer easily.
"First question." He started, smiling at your nervousness as you tapped your fingers gently against the table. You wanted this as much as he did, "The number of moles of solute present in one kilogram of a solvent is called as…" He trailed off waiting for an answer.
You smiled, "That's easy. It's molality." You answered sweetly, batting your eyelashes at him.
"Correct. Don't get too excited (y/l/n), it's just the first question." He replied, mocking your tone which made you giggle.
"Your impressions are hilarious Parker." You teased, laughing as he smiled proudly.
"Wait till you hear my Thor impression." He beamed, "Anyway, the next question, The metal used to separate copper from a copper sulphate solution is?" He asked.
"Ferrous." You replied.
You didn't expect the questions to get harder but what do you expect from Peter Nerd Parker. You were on the ninth question and you were getting more and more nervous, "What is the chemical name for baking soda?"
"It's, Sodium something… Sodium Carbonate?"
"No. It's-"
"Sodium Bicarbonate!" You yelled, making him laugh at your eagerness.
"Oh, shut it Parker!" You scolded, nonetheless smiling.
"Okay, so are you ready for the last question?" He asked and you just nodded. This was a perfect and probably the only chance you'd get to kiss the boy you'd had a crush on for the longest time. "Now, (y/n). Which radioactive element is used in heat pacemakers?" He asked.
Shit!
Elements were your weakest part. You stared straight into his eyes, pleading for a hint as you rack your brain for the answer. At this moment, both of you knew that Peter would kiss you no matter what, but you wanted to get it right.
"Plutonium?" You mumbled a question. Peter, having heightened senses, heard that and stood up from his seat, making you stand up and follow him to the centre of the room. He sighed, facing you with furrowed eyebrows, "Was it wrong?"
He just stood there for a moment before suddenly pulling you flush against him. Your hands instantly wrapped around his neck and a yelp escaped your throat before you felt his lips over yours. Moving at a slow pace. It was sweet, it was all you needed. Your hands tugged at the curls behind his head and he pulled you closer, resting his forehead on yours, "Correct."
You smiled so wide, your cheeks started to hurt. Suddenly you couldn't help what you said out aloud, "Kissing you was on my checklist since Middle school." He laughed at this.
"The infamous checklist?" He asked. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
"You knew about it?" You asked back for his answer.
"You're not good with secrets either. I heard you and MJ talking about it." He replied sheepishly.
"And you didn't tell me?" You asked, smiling.
"It was an accident." He said in a small voice, parting from you slightly and you shook your head softly as your gaze fell on the wall clock.
"It's nothing." You smiled, "Hey, I think you should go. It's getting late." He nodded, giving you a final peck on the lips as he grabbed his mask, moving towards your window.
"Peter." You called out. He turned back to face you, waiting for you to say something, "Don't forget about the Spanish quiz day after tomorrow." You smirked and he knew that smirk.

dare-out (bnha one-shot; shinso x todoroki x mina x f!reader)
a/n: idk this idea just got into my head and yeah i really wanted to write it, i’m gonna use first person pronoun for the reader bcus that’s how i roll, and don’t question the way i write HAHAHA
summary: four people out to do some dares !!
Shoto, Hitoshi and I were lazing on the couch, just some casual netflix and chill while Mina was taking her own sweet time dolling up.
Well, in actual fact, it was only Hitoshi and I watching Lucifer that was playing on the television as his head laid on my lap.
Shoto was leaning against my shoulder, eyes glued to his phone, probably scrolling through Instagram or something. The three of us had bought him a smartphone his last birthday and yeah, we kinda convinced him to download social media so we could tag him in pictures and create a group chat where we share posts of memes and drop not-so-subtle hints of gifts that we wish someone would get for us.
Shoto adjusted himself on my right, shifting his butt further from me so that he was now lying on my lap too.
I sighed, realising that we have waited for Mina for almost 2 hours. “Babe, are you almost done yet?” I yelled from my place on the sofa, struggling not to move too much and ruining the comfortable positions of my two boyfriends.
“Yes!” she staggered down the stairs.
“Finally,” Hitoshi heaved, sitting up. The three of us turned to look at her, to find out the outfit that had wasted all of our times.
She had on a pale blue long-sleeved crop top that showed off her navel piercing that was of a breathtaking amethyst, a grey skater skirt that stopped mid-thigh, and furry ugg boots.
She spun one round for us to take in her entire outfit, “What do yall think?”
“I think,” I paused for impact, “that did not have to take a full one and a half hour,” I finished my sentence, smirking at her.
She pouted, “Bitch.”
“Now that everyone’s ready, can we go and get some food already?” Hitoshi complained.
“In due time,” I turned to him, pecking him on the lips, “but before that, let’s play a dare game.”
This time, Shoto spoke up, “That doesn’t sound good.”
“Aw, it’ll be fun!”
“Yeah, it does sound fun!” Mina exclaimed, wrapping her arms around me from behind the couch.
“So, we will split into two teams, the ladies versus the gentlemen, and the game will last until dinner time,” I explained the basic rules of the game, “the team that gives in on the most number of dares will have to do the other team a favour, deal?”
Knowing that they can never say ‘no’ to us, both Shoto and Hitoshi sighed in defeat.
“The boys can start,” I suggested, looking up at Mina who gave a nod in agreement.
“Okay, we’ll start with..” Hitoshi trailed of deep in thought, “[Y/N], wash your hands in the toilet bowl,” he smirked at me, the rest of our jaws dropping.
After processing the information, I caught myself and smirked back at him, “Easy.”
The four of us headed to the bathroom as I plunged my hands into the toilet bowl, Mina flushing it for me.
Once I lifted it from the water, I started spraying the water at Hitoshi.
“Oh no, you don’t, get away from me!” Hitoshi screamed as I chased him around the house.
Shoto helped me blocked his way, restraining him with a hug to prevent him from running any further as I happily wiped my hands clean on his shirt.
I thanked Shoto while Hitoshi muttered, upset, “I hate you.”
“I love you too,” Shoto smiled at him.
Mina kept her phone away and spoke up, “Okay, Sho, I dare you to order every single thing on the menu at McDonald’s.”
Shoto grinned at the sound of that, whipping out a credit card from nowhere that was very much Endeavour’s, “I can do that.”
“How has he not terminated that card already?” I questioned.
Shoto shrugged, “Probably because he’s willing to go to great extents to make up to us and patch the family back together.”
“Well, whatever. Let’s all go get some food, I’m starving,” Mina whined, shoving us all out the door.
“Says the one who made us wait for 2 whole hours,” Hitoshi stated, earning him a slap on his upper arm. “Ouch,” he rubbed the spot he was hit.
“Guys, stop the domestic abuse and pick up your pace,” I joked.
“You’re the one who abuses us the most,” both Hitoshi and Mina retorted.
I cowered into Shoto’s side. “Sho, they’re bullying me,” I pouted, causing Shoto to let out a chuckle and he patted my hair.
Buying out the entire menu was certainly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We ended up having an eating competition, that was a draw between Mina and I, and quite a bit of leftover food that we did not touch.
We decided to pull pranks on people with it by immediately serving the food to them as soon as they told the counter their order. There was also one time where a little boy was tugging on his mother’s sleeve, pestering her about wanting to eat what we had, so Mina just went up and dropped a paper bag in front of them. It was all in good fun.
Shoto turned to Mina, our last paper bag in hand, “You see that group of guys there? Go sit beside them and chat them up while eating their fries.”
“Sure, but if I get beaten up yall gotta stand up for me okay?” she waved us off, stalking towards them.
We watched as Mina hopped onto the chair beside one of the guys, starting up a conversation and casually eating his fries. Every time she reached for the fries, the guy’s eyes would dart from her face, to her hand, to his fries, and back to her face again when she popped the fry into her mouth and slowly chewed on it. He tried to move the packet of fries away from her but she would somehow find her way back to it and eat them again. It was truly a hilarious sight to watch.
It was only when the group stood up, the rage burning in their eyes that we decided to interfere, afraid that a fight would break out. Shoto gave them the bag of free food as compensation for the fries that Mina ate.
“Well, that was intense,” Hitoshi commented as soon as we got out of the fast food restaurant.
Mina agreed, “It was scary and hot at the same time, I’d say I’d never do it again but we all know I will.”
We all burst out laughing.
“I wanna give a dare now!” I exclaimed, raising a hand. “Sho, Toshi,” I turned to both boys, “we can’t be selfish so it’s time for us to share your bodies with your fans.”
The looks of horror on their faces made me laugh out loud again. They sure did not like physical affection, unless it was from either one of us.
I placed my hands on their shoulders, “The two of you shall provide fanservice by giving free hugs at the central plaza.”
“Without your shirts on,” Mina added as soon as I finished.
I nodded at that suggestion. “You two can pass it up if you are prepared to do us ladies a favour!”
It was then that Hitoshi was motivated to not let the dare get to them, “Never.” He dragged Shoto by the hand and headed for the plaza, “Come on, Sho, we’re not gonna lose today. We’re gonna prove them wrong and show them that we can do this.”
At the plaza, Mina and I were seated at the fountain, holding up the signs we had made for the boys to give hugs to the members of the public. It was a heartwarming sight indeed, people of all ages going up and wrapping their arms around them, the genuine smiles on their faces contagious and attracting a whole lot of attention, brightening the day of those that were here to witness this exchange.
“They would be so much more popular if they were more willing to smile in public like that,” Mina whispered in my ear.
I nodded in agreement but I couldn’t imagine it. They have definitely become more expressive ever since the four of us started dating, but my selfish ass kinda not want anyone else to see the expressions they could make.
“Earth to [Y/N]!,” I heard Mina spoke as she wave a hand in front of my face, breaking my reverie.
I shook the thoughts out of my head, “Sorry, I was just thinking about that large group of schoolgirls before.”
This caused a smirk to form on Mina’s face. “Ooh, girl, you jealous or something?” she nudged me in the side.
“I guess,” I muttered, embarrassed.
“But you were the one who dare them to do this,” her voice was accusing, even though that was the absolute fact.
“I know,” I heaved a sigh.
“Aw, babe, you know you don’t have to be,” she wrapped an arm around me and I leaned my head on her shoulder, “you mean so much more to us than we can express, and even if those two idiots were to dump your stupid ass, just know that I’ll always be here,” she comforted me.
I gave her a smile as thanks and she leaned down to kiss me, a reassurance to tell me that she meant every single word she had just said.
Shoto had his hands on his hips and Hitoshi had his above his knees, both of them were panting hard.
“Whoa, you guys seem like you just came back from a workout or something,” Mina commented on their sweaty and disheveled appearances.
After catching his breath, Hitoshi spoke up, “Damn, that was harsh.”
“[Y/N], you alright?” Shoto asked me gently, coming to sit on my other side.
“Yeah, I’m fine.”
“Yeah, other than being jealous of the group of girls back there, she’s good,” Mina explained the situation in my stead.
I shoved her away from me, “Traitor.”
She stuck her tongue out at me in response while Shoto tilted his head slightly in confusion, “But weren’t you the one who suggested we do this?”
“That’s what I said!” Mina huffed.
“That’s why I couldn’t say anything,” my voice was muffled by my hands covering my face.
Hitoshi sat on the now empty spot beside me. “You know there’s no reason for you to,” he pulled me into his side.
“Yeah, to us you’re irreplaceable,” Shoto added, wrapping his arms around my waist and leaning on me, “it was all thanks to you that we are who we are today.”
“That’s what I told her!”
I grinned. If anyone asked me what bliss was, I’d tell them it was this moment, but it was not only that, it was all the moments I shared with them, all the memories we made together. Four people of different personalities, backgrounds and lifestyles coming together, and sharing a house together. Sharing a life together.
“I’m so glad you guys are a part of my life.”
a/n: THIS IS NOT THE END, I WILL BE BACK WITH A CONTINUATION, MORE DARES, AND MORE OF THESE FOUR

2018.02.24 Tanaka Hiroki’s 24th Birthday Event - 3rd Show [Report]
I was able to one of Hiroki-Kun's birthday events! I went to the last one and it was so much damn fun! I'll try and remember as best as I can.
Tumblr media
Hiroki Oguri Ryo Tanabe Toshiki Akaba Mio Shimotsuki Yukari Igarashi Keisuke Matsui Yui Seto Keita
Tumblr media
They spoke about how they met him and I was super surprised to learn that I’ve know Hirokikun LONGER than Ryo! I feel like those two have known each other for years, but Ryo was like ‘we’ve barely known each other a year yet we’ve already done about 6 stages together’ which I thought was CRAZY! I cannot believe I’ve known Hiroki longer than Ryo. That’s just... insane. And Yukari mentioned that while Hiroki is the youngest between them all, it doesn’t feel like it, especially with Hiroki’s taste in comedy and comedians. That’s how Hiroki and Yukari bonded, they’d show each other comedian videos between the IkazuchigaOka shows (review here).
The Ranking Game
They played a game where they had a situation to act out, but beforehand they had to pull a piece of paper out of a box (1 - 10) and depending on that number, would determine what kind of role they would have. So, for example; if the situation was an Entertainment Company and one of the members pulled a 10 and another pulled a 5 and one more pulled a 1 then probably the 10 would mean they play the CEO, 5 would mean a recently debuted idol and 1 would be like the lowest job in the company or even a debt-infested fan xD BUT the trick was, no one else could know their number, so they had to rank themselves depending on how the others were acting. So someone could be perceived as acting like a manager or a CEO, so the person with the number 9 would then jump into vice-CEO, but in reality that CEO person might only have a number 6 and was trying to be an assistant or something. Does this make sense? Visually it made sense and it was hilarious! They did three situations.
1. The Hikikomori Family.
2. The Bands Last Day
3. The Tanaka Hiroki Auditions
I won’t be able to go into too much detail - because I won’t do them justice - but I’ll talk about the parts that stood out to me:
(1) Ryo-kun has the WORST luck, he pulled 1 for ALL three situations and at one point he just led face down on the floor like a dead animal or person and everyone was dying with laughter and knew straight away what his number was. No one could believe how BAD his luck was each time! It got more and more hilarious every time.
Tumblr media
(2) The Tanaka Audition basically had all the guys doing different types of Hiroki; shy, cool, geeky etc. And then Hiroki himself came in and was like 'superhero' Hiroki and did moves from the Raidemal days which was super cool (I'm a huge tokusatsu geek okay!). I remember Akaba and Yukari were pretending to be the manager and assistant which was confusing because it was like 'well you're not Hiroki at all!' but turns out they had numbers 10 and 9 so they could be above the rest of the Hirokis xD
(3) In the Hikkikomori scene Hiroki was the center of it and was a real brat. He was just on his computer, ignoring his mother and then one of them (Igarashi Keisuke?) pretended to be a fly which cracked every one up. And then there was a twist where Hiroki turned to his little brother (I think that was Toshi) and yelled 'I'm your sister!!' .... Toshi reacted 'you're a girl?!?!' which was hilarious and caused drama there xD OF COURSE Hiroki would end up having that kind of character. I just love how he's always so gender-fluid and stuff. He often plays gay roles, he often crissdresses, he loves doing all this stuff and I love he's just totally normal and cool about it and I love him for doing this stuff! <3 my heart...
(4) I don't remember much about the band one except that because Ryo had pulled a one again, he was just a pile of goo on the floor, being all shy and anxiet-ty and being like 'I can't play guitar! I can't do anything!' and then (I think) Matsui Yui walked in with a guitar and being all like 'I'm too old for this! We can't play!'.
The Gifts
There was a random segment where Hiroki brought two bags on stage and they pulled an audience member's chair number out of the hat and who ever that was got a present from him. One was a jacket he had picked out especially and one was his very own jacket that he had signed. And... I bloody won one. He called my seat and I just died. I remember just putting my hands onto my face and embarrassingly raising my hand. I am the type of person who would like to win BUT I'm just as happy for someone else to win and I'm happy that someone wins. I ALSO have the massive fear of 'if I win, I don't want to stand up, get on stage and accept the gift from them' so in all honesty, I would much rather someone else won. BUUUUT I was happy I won. I won the denim jacket which was Hiroki's own and the MC was like 'it's embarrassing isn't it.' and I nodded slightly and Hiroki (luckily we didn't have to stand up) came out with the bag and was like 'don't worry, I washed it'. Afterwords, I made super super that Hiroki understood that I wasn't hiding because I didn't wanna win, but because I was embarrassed and surprised. I feel like my actions might have come across as 'wow she really doesn't want this' so I made sure to explain! I will never wear this jacket and it smells great and it looks really nice too. The jacket AND the bag he gave me is signed ^_^
Tumblr media
The BL Video
Hiroki teased (link here) a few weeks before the event that during the third show, he would show us a little video he made. We knew it was going to be about Hiroki going on a date with a guy in Yokohama. So he finally showed us the video, but not before Toshi came running into the crowd to find an empty seat so he could watch it properly. So it became obviously very soon that it was all scripted and stuff and they did it like part interview and part clips of the date and guess who his dang date was? TOSHIKUN! I was like 'yeesss!!!' and it was super adorable. Even though it was scripted, they went ice skating together and went on the ferris wheel and went to the Yokohama spa and chilled. It also ended in a kiss which got me dying inside -- I kinda hope now that they really are dating in real life.... -- and I got all the feels because they filmed in bloody Yokohama - MY HOMETOWN!!!!! So I was like 'ohh I've been there! There too! OH! I know where that is!' and it's so weird that I could've actually bumped into him while filming this. He filmed everything literally down the street from me. I also joked to him later that he should tell me when he's going to Yokohama next so I can crash his date and we can Yokohama-it together! ^_^ that would be super fun! Me, Hiroki and Toshi hanging out in Yoks together.... ahhh whatta dream...
The Cheki
As per usual, we could get chekis at the end of the show. I did contemplate getting one with Ryo but to be honest, I don't think he knows me really and I didn't want to betray Hiroki at his own birthday event! So I backed out. GUYSS!!! He's such a damn sweetie!!!
Tumblr media
After the event, me and mum were joking that he picked me seat on purpose so I'd get to gift and a part of me is like 'well maybe he did do it on purpose' but another part of me is like 'he wouldn't do that. He probably didn't even know where I was sitting until he walked out on stage' so lets just assume the universe is telling me and him that we need to stick together xD

Birthday Party
Today was the big birthday party. Six children had birthdays this month, including a 20 year old who grew up here. M is in school to become an architect and came home for his birthday party. He is the big brother to these children, and the oldest of the four who are in training schools or college. All of the kids were so excited to have him home. The girls from the girls' care center were also here. It was nice to see the two new ones that we had welcomed recently. They fit right in. The program at a party goes like this: each birthday child has his or her own cake which is then shared with the group. After candles are blown out, 'Happy Birthday' sung, and hip-hip-hoorays shared, the children clap the number of years the birthday child is old. As gifts are opened, the crowd 'ooohs and awwws' appropriately. When all birthday children finish this ritual, the children go and thank who ever donated the gifts. It is a great time for lots of hugs. After all of the birthday celebrations, Make Michelle thanked me for volunteering. I did not expect that but the kids knew. They had made cards for me. As well, they gave me a new teaching bag made by the Bombani moms. The bag has pockets for drinks and stuff plus it is big enough for all of my school stuff. It is just darling. They also gave me a necklace and slippers made by the moms. These are women who sew and make jewelry in order to raise their children. Pasture Valley helps them by selling their products for them, helping with school needs, and other things. The Pasture Valley Children's Ministry includes several pre-schools, pre-school training for teachers, this children's home, the girls' care center, the Bombani Center, and outreach to families who take in handicapped children. As well, they reach out to families that don't have enough food for their children, books or uniforms for school, and other needs. I am amazed at the breadth of their outreach! Much of the cost is provided by the farm and the tree business. As well, Michelle propagates and sells banana trees, nut and fruit trees, as well as blueberry bushes. I was allowed into her laboratory and was amazed! It is so sterile and professionaL (of course, she is a botanist). God is truly using this family in an immense way. After the celebration, K walked to get milk with me. It is a long way for his four year old legs, but he is such a dear child. He is not happy that I am leaving. As I walked the milk back up to Grace House, I visited with N's mother. N (2 years old) came up to Eleanor and said, 'Momma, isn't this a weed? When mom said, 'Yes, it is', he replied, 'Such a cheeky plant. It doesn't grow where it should!' Isn't that hilarious? He is such a joy in my class. Can you tell mom is from Holland with a British father? Eleanor and her South African husband, Jurgen, are missionaries here. Must head back to the children's Saturday movie night but I wanted to be sure and tell you N's story.

Christmas Items From Clueless Grandmas Can Be Hilarious

Christmas Items From Clueless Grandmas Can Be Hilarious
Christmas is an excellent time of the 12 months. No worry of Halloween haunts and also you don’t have to fret about whose home you’re going to for the turkey. No, Christmas is the day the place you possibly can sleep in if you would like or get up early in your cozy pajamas, go to your presents and be ready to be stuffed with bliss. The one challenge you would possibly face when opening your items are the bizarre gadgets that clueless, however well-meaning, grandmothers give.
This listing is stuffed with epic reward fails from grandmas. You gained’t even consider the “particular” shark that one grandmother made.
Grandmas and those that will not be very versed within the realm of gift-giving all want a correct lesson. The one factor optimistic about this current is the smile that this man offers. It could possibly be a sarcastic one however nonetheless, no less than he makes this second half bearable.
In all honesty, did his grandma assume he was having a child quickly? What made her assume he would take pleasure in some on-the-go wipes? There could also be 55 on this pack, which is loads however this actually wasn’t the very best reward choice. Giving somebody any kind of bathroom paper is type of disrespectful. Her grandson deserves higher.
This Reddit person posted this picture and described what precisely was happening. “My 84-year-old grandmother apologized for having to put on her nightgown in entrance of us,” he wrote. “I mentioned it was no drawback and that it really appeared very snug, so she instantly supplied one to me. It’s not like I may have rejected this beneficiant reward.” It feels like grandma lucked out and simply gave her grandson this reward as a substitute of attempting to exit and purchase on. Not less than it’s higher than two , proper?
You possibly can count on that in the course of the holidays, electronics are the primary requested reward. That normally interprets to some Apple product since everybody loves iPhones and iPads. Talking of iPads, for future reference, subsequent time you request one make sure to be particular. Inform grandma precisely what number of gigabytes you want as a result of for those who depart it as much as her, this could be the scenario you find yourself in. Receiving a watch pad as a substitute of an iPad would put a damper on anybody’s Christmas. Would you be upset or understanding if this occurred to you?
This subsequent grandma additionally wants some help along with her expertise.
This reward took a very long time coming, actually. This grandma missed the memo that folks ship image messages by means of their telephone and never by means of the mail. The Reddit person who posted this mentioned this was the “slowest image message ever,” and he was not flawed with that evaluation. She seems to be so completely satisfied to be taking this image for her grandson too! Oblivious to the truth that she may have despatched this in a matter of moments, what a shock it should have been as soon as her grandson bought this within the mail as a present!
“My grandma bought me this shirt, I don’t assume she will get it,” wrote this Reddit person. The query is that if grandma actually knew what this meant or if she thought her grandson solely like freshly trimmed grass. Both approach, this man can’t put on this and hold a good picture out in public. It might be a terrific shirt to put on round the home and to point out your spouse however for those who put on this out in public you would possibly get a few soiled seems and a few laughs. However would you like that sort of consideration?
This subsequent reward is definitely a disappointment and there’s no solution to tape up that truth.
This man is having fun with this reward a bit an excessive amount of. Take a look at how he has the canine within the image as he rests on the mattress with that finger in his mouth. Is he flaunting this fail of a present off or is he being humorous?
“Opened my current from grandma early,” he wrote. “I feel this current was supposed for one among my woman cousins, however I’m keepin’ it.” It seems like he’s fortunately exhibiting off his reward that was greater than probably meant for another person. As a result of clearly, except his spouse gave that to him, why else would he have purpose to put on this?
We’ll begin issues off with this sad man. Newspapers run this sort of characteristic yearly for the vacations. When Kevin Mack from Grove Metropolis, Ohio was requested what his worst reward was, he didn’t hesitate to inform Columbus Alive. His life apparently is worse than a few of the items you might be about to see. And for those who hint it again, you would say his grandma is accountable for this reward.
Receiving stationary as a present isn’t as unhealthy because it sounds. You would get a very neat pocket book that you just all the time move by however by no means buy as a result of it doesn’t suit your finances in the intervening time. You might also get some cool writing utensils so that you by no means know.
Nevertheless, there are some stationary items which might be simply dreadful to should open up on Christmas. For example, what for those who get some staples? Who would need that? However is that actually as unhealthy as a heavy obligation tape dispenser? In accordance with the recipient of this reward, it’s the worst Christmas current ever.
Did you learn what the letter wrote? “You gained $2 . Right here is that $2. Merry Christmas!” There isn’t any approach that grandma went out of her solution to give this as a present. Grandmothers ought to know higher. However when you concentrate on it, the older they get, the items they provide start to grow to be much less extravagant. The unique concept of giving the lottery scratcher was a good suggestion however everyone knows how arduous it’s to withstand scratching these issues. However subsequent time, grandma has to attempt a bit tougher to not break the reward.
How’s this for a fail? For all of our male readers on the market, would you ever image your self carrying one thing like this in your teenage years? We wish to assume nearly all of you mentioned no as a result of that is most likely solely wearable whenever you’re alone at residence or if it’s part of a fancy dress. If this boy had been to put on this college then he can be the laughing inventory of all his associates. The Reddit person mentioned, “My 94-year-old nice grandma made this for me as a result of she mentioned it’s too chilly.”
If this isn’t probably the most out-of-left-field reward anybody may get then we don’t need to know what’s worse (oh simply wait, the listing will get crazier). Grandma should assume her son is Bob the Builder to make a present buy of this magnitude. What was the attract of this reward that captured the eye of this purchaser? All this merchandise is, is a strolling broomstick. Now the proprietor of it doesn’t should stroll to the place he retains the broom to be tidy. He can accomplish a drive-by sweep.
We hope this subsequent reward doesn’t upset you.
This “reward” was a stocking stuffer. And we hope the recipient understood that this was only a joke and she or he didn’t take it so arduous. It’s normally the batteries that aren’t included so the joke is correct there when it says reward not included with the battery prepared to be used. Generally, you count on there to be no less than a good reward in your stocking however to get that is simply all unhealthy. This can be a nice prank to play, however not such a terrific one to have performed on you. Good job, grandma.
You’re 11 years outdated and Christmas is your favourite day subsequent to your birthday since you get all of the items that you just requested for. Sweet, video games, and toys are your favourite issues at this age so something that has to cope with precise work is only a drag. However on one Christmas morning, your grandmother will get you a “sport” considering it is going to be precisely what you want. When you open up the reward, you discover out it’s the one sport you don’t need to play! This child was bummed, to say the least.
“My buddy’s grandma or G-Ma bought him this current for Christmas,” wrote a Reddit person. Effectively, it may have been worse. It may have been an inappropriate image. Nevertheless, the truth that she’s tilting her glasses down a bit on the highest image makes this a bit creepy. Why is your grandmother sending you footage like that? Not solely is that this reward a fail however it is usually a tad unsettling. We hope his buddy didn’t snort at him hysterically as soon as he noticed this. That is fairly humorous with a contact of absurd.
Getting somebody garments that they didn’t particularly ask for as a gift on Christmas is hard enterprise. For one, you will need to know their measurement and secondly, it’s a must to know what kind of favor she or he likes. The look on this woman’s face says all of it. This isn’t the model she likes and it’s most likely one thing that’s by no means going to go away its place in her closet or dresser. In the case of items from grandma (except its a prank) you possibly can wager its all the time from the guts. However this reward isn’t slicing it for her.
Let’s all cease for a second and assume. Are you able to rely in your hand what number of occasions you’ve obtained some variety meals (not together with sweet or sweets) for Christmas? In case you so occur to get meals loads as a present then perhaps this reward isn’t all that stunning to you. If somebody had been to provide you a bag of child carrots, nonetheless, would that be a very good meals reward to provide? That is one thing anybody can get at their native grocery retailer. It’s not prefer it’s an unique deal with or one thing that’s restricted. Grandma should really need somebody to steer a more healthy way of life.
Like we mentioned earlier, electronics are the primary requested reward throughout Christmas time. And as we additionally mentioned, when requesting an Apple product, typically it’s essential to be a bit particular. This might have been one other real buy made by grandma. You inform her iWatch and he or she goes out and finds you precisely that so are you able to be mad at her? As a matter of truth, it most likely was tougher for grandma to search out this watch. You don’t see an precise “eye watch” round that always.
You by no means know what to anticipate from grandma…
The thought was undoubtedly there with this reward however was the location of the shark’s fin correctly thought out? If the boy was older, this is able to have been much more sketchy. Not less than he has an excuse of “he didn’t know any higher” however that is nonetheless very attention-grabbing to have a look at. Somewhat, that is nearly disturbing to have a look at however we’re prepared to wager whoever took the image couldn’t comprise their laughter. That is the 12 months the youngsters cease asking granny for a present.
In case you thought this was unhealthy, get a load of the subsequent one.
For a person, accepting that you just’re balding is a troublesome capsule to swallow. You’ve identified your hair and brought care of it your entire life and for it to resolve by itself that its time to vacate the premises could be coronary heart crushing. And it’s even harder to listen to it from others that your hair goes bye-bye. So for this man’s grandmother to reward him with it is a below-the-belt punch for the ages. She most likely didn’t imply any hurt by it and he or she was simply attempting to assist, however that is horrible for the psyche of this man.
That is both a very good pun or a poor try at attempting to fulfill a grandchild. We’re going with the latter as a result of not each grandma is that humorous. And clearly, by the caption that’s on this image, you possibly can see that whoever bought this was not a cheerful camper. A bottle of physique wash and a mini-flashlight as a present is a mixture that most likely nobody has requested for within the historical past of Christmas. Not less than now this fortunate reward recipient doesn’t should make a visit to the shop for some new physique wash for some time.

Lynsey and Jeff’s weddding at Chaumette Vineyard & Winery
Lynsey and Jeff focused on making their day “cozy, personal, and fun” and ultimately felt that it’s what made their day special and unique. Chaumette Vineyard & Winery set the scene providing rolling hills for the ceremony backdrop and a barn for their warm and relaxed reception. We’re loving the purple-hued palette especially in the florals by  Snapdragon Studio and Lynsey’s applique, long sleeve gown by Tara Keely is a showstopper. The always-amazing Carretto Studio was behind the lens capturing all the details and moments of the couples big day.
What made the wedding special and unique?
We tried our best to focus on making sure our day was a true reflection of us as a couple. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in what you think other people will like and the newest wedding trends, but in the end, it’s a day for the two of you. When we were first looking at venues, we had to put a lot of thought into what we wanted our wedding to be and the “feel” we wanted it to have. We envisioned our day with our friends and family kicking their shoes off and letting loose. Cozy, personal, and fun. We kept this at the forefront during planning, and I think it made our day special and unique.
When we walked into The Barn at Chaumette we could immediately envision our friends on the dance floor and our families on the patio sharing drinks. It was intimate, warm, and laid back—perfect for what we had in mind. Also, it was unlike any wedding venue we had been to before.
We also tried to incorporate “us” into the details. The groomsmen lost the ties, we brought in the gooey butter cake (our favorite!), and the band covered all the hits of the 90’s. A few traditions may have been “missing”, but there was no shortage of glow sticks. The wedding party, including the bride and groom, joined our guests at cocktail hour, and dinner was served family style. If you ask us, it was special, unique, and perfect.
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
The dress was designed by Tara Keely and purchased from the Ultimate Bride in St. Louis, MO. After getting engaged, I started studying dresses in magazines (obviously) and fell in love with long-sleeve dresses. Specifically, I kept marking the dresses with sleeves, a sheath fit, and some lace. My “favorite” before shopping (i.e. based on pictures) was actually the dress I ended up choosing (love at first sight).
I went shopping with my mom, matron of honor, and maid of honor, and we were on the hunt for sleeves! This narrowed the search a ton. (Thank goodness, because there are so many gorgeous dresses to choose from and I needed help, as I can barely make a decision about what to order for dinner.) I actually tried on the dress and gave it some thought but didn’t really have the “feeling” or think, “this is one I need to try again.” In fact, I walked away that day having two favorites, neither of which was my dress. Because I couldn’t decide between those two on the spot, I decided to go home and sleep on it.
Thank goodness I did! A few days later, my mom suggested trying on the Tara Keely dress again. After letting it all sink in, I completely agreed, and my initial love for the dress returned. When we went back to the Ultimate Bride, they had my other “favorites” pulled. I asked them to pull the Tara Keely. When I put it on, I knew I had to have it. For the record, I wasn’t a crier when I “said yes to the dress;” I just wanted to dance around in it.
What were some special touches added to make the wedding personal?
Veil – I wore my mom’s veil from when she and my dad got married in 1987.
Band – We had a rockin’ 90’s band called the Mixtapes from Springfield, Missouri. They played everything from Britney Spears to Rage Against the Machine. The party did not stop; everyone was on their feet!
Officiant – One of Jeff’s best friends officiated our wedding. I think this was a really special and personal touch. He’s hilarious, but also extremely well spoken and thoughtful. The day of the wedding was the first day Jeff and I heard the ceremony dialogue, and it was perfect. At one point, just before Jeff and I exchanged our vows, he had our bridal party take vows where they promised to always support our marriage. It wasn’t something I had seen before, and it was a great touch, as it included all of our friends who have been so special to us.
Cocktail Hour – Cocktail hour is typically when the wedding party scurries off for pictures or a party bus. We contemplated both, but due to everything being on-site, neither was really necessary. We ultimately decided to join our guests at cocktail hour and I’m so happy we did. Everyone came in to see us, and of course, we wanted to spend time with each person on our guest list. We decided, why hide away when we can extend the time we have with all of our loved ones in one place!
What was the most memorable part of the day?
There are four moments that stand out to me: (1) the first look; (2) “I do” and the kiss; (3) the moments after the ceremony; and (4) the final songs of the reception.
A friend of ours had given the advice to pick out one moment before the big day to focus on. She explained how the whole day turns into one big blur, and encouraged us to work to remember our one chosen moment. Jeff and I talked about this prior to the big day. I had chosen the “I do” moment and our first kiss as a married couple. Jeff had chosen the first look. I really wanted to remember the moment he had chosen too, so I set out to focus on two parts of the day. I am so thankful we were given this advice. I feel like I can accurately reminisce on both of these moments, and I am so grateful.
The other moments, the time after the ceremony and the final songs of the reception, stuck with me as well.  After the ceremony, Jeff and I exited the area and spent about 10 minutes in solitude before joining our guests at cocktail hour. This was a private, relaxed moment Jeff and I were able to share, which stands out amidst the buzz of the wedding day. We were able to celebrate our marriage, just the two of us, and make sure we were connected to how special the day was before beginning the reception.
The final songs of the ceremony were so much fun! It was like everyone was exerting all of the fun they had left in them, knowing the day was nearly over. I’ll always remember the smiles on everyone’s faces, and dancing with all of our closest friends and family.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
Jeff and I met in law school at the University of Missouri. We were in the same section (i.e., we had every class together), but it took awhile for things to take off.
The first time we met we were at a law school social at a Columbia comedy club. We briefly exchanged names and small talk, but that was pretty much the extent of it. We were both meeting so many people and had just submerged ourselves into a new, overwhelming world made up of libraries and lectures.
Throughout the semester, we would exchange smiles or a casual, “how are you.” It wasn’t until the end of first semester that things started to happen. One of our professors was throwing a happy hour after class, and we finally exchanged more than a few words, including phone numbers. Things moved slowly at first, but eventually—full speed ahead. I was very independent and not looking for a serious relationship, but something was just different with him.
After meeting in our first year of law school, we were engaged by the end of our second year. On April 22nd, Jeff told me we were going out for my birthday. I had the weirdest feeling that whole day. I told myself, “No way, Lynsey. You are losing your mind!” We went to our favorite local restaurant, and then we proceeded to head downtown. He said we were going to meet some friends for drinks, but because we were running a little early, he suggested a walk. I immediately commented that my shoes were not comfortable and it was a really cold day for the end of April. He told me to suck it up, and he’d let me open my gift if I walked. Obviously I wanted whatever was in that bag, so we were off and walking! We walked around the Mizzou Quad, and took a seat (to rest my feet) on the columns. He gave me a card with the sweetest words I had ever read and then told me to close my eyes. When I opened them, he was down on one knee.  It was dark and I could hardly see, but the diamond was bright enough to make my heart jump.  I cried and called my parents and my two best friends before we headed to meet friends for drinks to celebrate!

Miscarriage: 8 Things You Can Do To Help
Here are 8 ways you can support someone experiencing a miscarriage. No crystal ball or mind-reading required.
In the wake of my recent miscarriage, it occurred to me how much more resilient I am since we lost our first pregnancy almost five years ago.
In 2012, I didn’t have the coping mechanisms I do now. I also didn’t know I had endometriosis, an inflammatory women’s disease, which explains why it’s been so hard to get pregnant and why my periods so often feel like I’m passing a bag of nails. It’s been a wild ride to say the least.
These days, I am incredibly grateful to have a small village* of people supporting me and my husband. After adopting an anti-inflammatory diet (bye bye gluten and dairy) my periods are pretty non-eventful (hello living)! But, even with a huge support network, it was terribly difficult to ask for help when I needed it during my miscarriage, especially when I was in so much physical and emotional pain.
When asked, “Do you need anything?”, my grief was too all-encompassing to say yes. It wasn’t that I didn’t want help. It wasn’t that I didn’t need help. But how could I possibly ask for what I needed when I could barely speak? After all, we’d been trying for FIVE YEARS.
Now that the pain of my miscarriage has lessened a bit, I decided to write a short list of things I would have appreciated when I was really down and out.
And because very few of us are mind-readers, I hope this list will help you help someone you love (trust me, if you do even ONE of these, she’ll think you’re full of magic and a pretty damn good human).**
1. COOK A MEAL (OR TWO)
Consider delivering groceries, takeout, a home-cooked meal or snacks. When your whole body aches you don’t have the strength to go to the store, let alone prepare a meal. Personally, I didn’t want to go to restaurants because I was prone to unpredictable fits of crying. Pressed for ideas, I emailed my naturopath who told me to concentrate on bone broth, soups, and stews (things that are gentle on the stomach) as well as iron-rich foods. I found this recipe for Bok Choy Miso Soup online and both my husband and I really liked it. Does she like chocolate? I’d never turn away Double Chocolate Zucchini Muffins, especially if they’re made with extra-dark Guittard chocolate chips (just sayin’)! And, even though beggars can’t be choosers, as a person with dietary restrictions I always appreciate when people ask me what I can and can’t eat.
2. TAKE THE KIDS (OR DOGS)
Miscarriage is a physically exhaustive process now matter what. But depending on how far along her pregnancy was, she may have also had surgery which is some next level sh*t. Needless to say, she needs sleep. Lots of it.  Schedule a time to babysit her kid(s) or take her dog(s) for a few hours so she can get some rest. I guarantee she will be grateful.
3. MOVE TOGETHER
My acupuncturist suggested a light hike or slow jog would speed the healing process. At first, I didn’t think I had the energy for it. But once I got going I discovered light exercise helped me feel better mentally and physically. Gentle yoga felt wonderful, too. Suggest something. No matter what, I guarantee she will appreciate the company.
4. LAUGH TOGETHER
Laughter really can be the best medicine, so if she feels up for it, treat her to a hilarious movie in the theater or binge-watch reruns of Broad City at her place (don’t forget the popcorn and gummi bears)!
5. CLOTHE HER IN COMFORT
To this day when I wear the pajamas and socks my mother-in-law gave me after my first miscarriage (and later D&C) I am reminded of her kindness. Soft drawstring waists felt wonderful to my sore belly (my jeans felt like a corset)! If you’re not sure where to look for lounge pants and jammies, check out Gilligan and O'Malley at Target. They don’t last forever but they sure are comfortable!
6. GIVE HER WARMTH
Creature comforts really brought me peace in the days following my pregnancy loss.  Consider gifting her some items for her self-care toolkit such as a heating pad and natural bubble bath (my favorite is this one) topped off with a new book or novel you think she’d like.
7. TREAT HER TO A MASSAGE
My whole body ached for weeks after my miscarriage, so when my doctor suggested a massage, I went for it. Since massages are often expensive, you might look on Groupon or Google ‘massage deals’ in your area. Or, you could go in on a gift with girlfriends.
8. DON’T BE A GHOST
As many as 20–25% of recognized pregnancies end in a miscarriage, which is a staggeringly large number. If you know someone who lost their baby, ask how she is doing. When she crosses your mind, reach out. Mail a heartfelt note. Send a quick text. Experiencing a miscarriage can be very isolating, especially if she is seeing pregnant bellies at the grocery store and strollers in her neighborhood. Bring up her loss. Say her baby’s name. And if she brings up her loss, please don’t change the subject. Just listen. You don’t need to offer solutions.
There is no finite end to grief. For me, it evolves, recedes and resurfaces. After my first miscarriage, I was a train wreck on Henry’s due date. Mother’s Day was (and is) the worst. Even my birthday is tinged with sadness because every year I am closer to being physically unable to conceive or carry a child.
Though I lead a full and very happy life, I carry my grief with me every day. I haven’t forgotten our babies for a moment. There is no way someone could “remind” me of my sadness. It is here with every breath I take.
There is no dark without light. There is no sadness without happiness. And in that, I take comfort.
- - - - - - -
PLEASE share this blog post! Miscarriage shouldn’t be a taboo subject. It’s real, it’s heartbreaking, and it happens to more women than you think.
*namely, my beloved husband, family, and friends, plus a team of badass health care professionals including my compassionate therapist, acupuncturist, hypnotherapist and naturopath who’ve taught me that self-care is a necessity. If we are to be loving and compassionate with others we must begin with ourselves.
**Though this list is geared towards miscarriage specifically, these ideas could work for any life-changing event, such as a new cancer diagnosis, or a sudden death of a friend or family member.
***Please skip the unhelpful platitudes such as “everything happens for a reason”. Sometimes, things don’t happen for a reason. Sometimes, life just sucks. Hard. Same goes for “Just relax!” and, “Have you considered adoption?”. Even with the best of intentions, these phrases can do more harm than good.
