Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023)

This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has some moments of extreme strobe effects during the second half of the film, starting with strong police car lights at the end of a high-speed chase, and mostly featuring electrical-type effects. During the first half, there are mild, infrequent, split-second flickers of light, and there is a brief but intense strike of lightning at the end of the mid-credit scene.

There are several high-speed orbiting and tracking shots, and some of the action takes place at extreme heights.

Flashing Lights: 8/10. Motion Sickness: 6/10.

TRIGGER WARNING: A horrific backstory is depicted that shows on-screen vomiting. In a similar situation later in the film, there is another instance of on-screen vomiting.

Went into this with low expectations. The art style didn’t really appeal to me. But wow, it grew on me. The whole vibe is great. Great story, great arcs, great designs. MUST WATCH!

The film follows the Turtle brothers as they work to earn the love of New York City while facing down an army of mutants.

Movie was made with a younger audience in mind, so I'm certainly not the target audience.

But I liked the drawing style, the colours and the animation. The frequent action scenes felt too frantic.

That whole ... milking thing running gag obviously also has to be mentioned.
