Astarion is pissed at Mizora on Wyll's behalf. (and rat is such an insult coming from him. he hates rats)
I was annoyed that I didn't have Wyll in the party during this scene, I didn't know Mizora would be there. But at least I found yet another scene where companions stand up for each other. His face looks so angry. omg what a reaction
i love that grace and richie seem to be actual friends (went to workin' boys together). like idk i think maybe people are say to both of them "why do you hang out with that loser" and they go "what a weird thing to say to someone".
Just imagining Frank tryna study a butterfly and in the corner of his eye he just sees Wally under a tree staring at him with a laser focus. Wally's eyes are no longer half-lidded, they r blown full open and Frank can't help but feel a bit confused, dread creeping up his spine. Without breaking eye contact, Wally scribbles something on paper before standing up and walking over to Frank. Frank breaks into a cold sweat--his breathing going faster and his body going full fight or flight mode--before Wally rips out a page and hands it to Frank, asking him if he likes it. Wally's eyes droop once more, and Frank could feel himself breathe again. He looks down to see an impressive portrait of him, and he gives Wally an uneasy smile, saying it was wonderful. Wally smiles back.
I need to break out of my comfort zone (paint 3D/Inkscape) and use some real art software (Kirta).
I absolutely resent the fact that the only way to get better at art is to practice and make imperfect pieces on your way to mastery. Isn't there some other way?
So anyways here's a WIP rendition of Gregor and Ares in the firelands at the start of Code of Claw about to come back and F--- some S---- up. Haven't decided if I'm going to go through with it and turn it into a proper digital painting or just leave it as a sketch.
@fooltofancy replied to your post “What’s the ROs favorite genre of music & movies?...”:
the 1995 persuasion adaptation is pretty great, tbh, though i think it /does/ miss out on the piano while crying. mild travesty, all things considered. still gorgeous.
I'm so glad that my following is as such that I find out there's a 1995 adaptation and didn't have to do what I expected to have to do which is say "there is no persuasion (2022) 🔪🔪🔪"
idc what you think about august underground as a movie but you have to atleast admit it is kinda one of the last "greats" of the 2000's indie disturbing horror scene [and a really unique example of gritty + realistic found footage horror] before it all literally went to total shit
i have lots of respect and fondness for 我可能遇到了救星 hi venus. it's not thee favourite (romcom) of mine, but it's special for the awareness and respect it exhibits towards romcoms as a genre. it embraces and commits to its genre and tropes. it fully plays into the romcom elements that appeal to people but with a real understanding of what goes behind those tropes and treating them with seriousness. your typical poor working class girl meets her rich eligible boss story - but 1) respects the girl as her own person who can stand for herself (it's literally the symbolism behind its chinese title; "you're your own saviour") and is also an imperfect person (referring to ep 1's shenanigans); 2) fully acknowledges the inherent power imbalance in their dynamics and navigates it with sensitivity; 3) the couple is one of the most emotionally intelligent romcom couples you'll ever find. besides all that, it literally discussed how romcoms are often looked down upon (because they're enjoyed mainly by girls? and are idealistic?). it just makes me feel like it genuinely loves the genre and treats its viewers earnestly. for a story that talks about the tendency of romcoms as a genre to be interpreted in bad faith, it's sad to see it ever being treated in bad faith, you know.
i feel like i go on this rant every once in a while, but why oh why oh why are there no fat people in mainstream media
why even in tv shows that are supposed to be super progressive and have a diverse cast have one or two small fat side characters and that's literally it. why do in school tv shows and movies all the kids skinny, all their parents, all their teachers skinny. have you looked outside? there are fat people everywhere, literally everywhere, why do even grocery store clerks in tv shows have to be skinny?
probably my favorite thing about the gang™ is that (minus brett) they're not the cliche 'oh we'll always stick with you, bff's forever, with friendship we can do anything!!’ group you usually see in animation. they ditch reagan the second a shitty situation comes up. they'll turn on each other at the drop of a dime. sure, they like eachother to an extent. and yeah, they always come back to each other in the end, but most of the time it's just because there's no better option. i don't know what i was getting at with this, but i think it's that i like how the only thing that makes the gang™ friends as a whole is that they have been through so many screwed experiences that it'd be weird to just be work acquaintances.
