where’s the frog day post
OOPs I forgot. Uhh Here you go, the things I drew for the frog day video call. Tea shop, Tea Shop but with bats, and a birthday card for someone who doesn't exist. If your name is Melissa, and you like German shepherds and beer boy is today gonna be surreal for you but happy birthday.

Gigantic coming back is an interesting addition to this post. Published by gearbox no less. Bitter sweet, but still a good ending
Sometimes I listen to the battleborn soundtrack and cry.
I know it was a mediocre game and overwatch was better bla bla bla. Whatever.
It was goofy and earnest and messy, unlike overwatch that was polished to a mirror finish. But even if the game had sucked it still would have mattered to me. It had *splitscreen*, God so few games have that anymore. I'd come home from some of the most awful bullying I'd ever experienced at school and then drop on the couch and play some battleborn with my brother.
Fuck everyone who never gave battleborn a chance. Look where your overwatch is now.

I see lots of "let people enjoy things" in fandom but no "it's not the end of the world if people don't like this thing you like, chill out" which is a shame I think fandom could benefit a lot more from the latter than the former

Listening to today's @returntoregalia episode called attention to a line that I totally forgot about. (Paraphrasing)
Gregor: "your family's always in a war"
Luxa: "now yours are in one too"
And like... This tells you so much about the characters. The Underland ISN'T at war right now. At this point everyone thinks the plague is just some terrifying act of nature, but Luxa just sees it as a war anyways. The war is inevitable, why make the distinction? Or is she implying that the natural state of humans and Gnawers existing together is war and so as long as one exists there's a war.
But also... Gregor's family has been in a war this whole time since book one. He lives in New York. Gregor is like 11 years old in ambiguous 2004ish time. He SAW 9/11, at least on TV. He comes home at the end of code of claw to see TV footage of a modern war. I'm not sure if this is an intentional point on the part of Collins, but isn't it interesting how Gregor's people are literally at war but he doesn't acknowledge it, but Luxas people aren't but she sees it as if they are??
Idk if I was an English major I'd do more with this. Just had to stop and write it out because it's too long for a comment

Ep 35 - Curse of the Warmbloods Ch. 22
Oona and Carrie analyze chapter twenty-two of The Curse of the Warmbloods, in which the questers harvest the starshade. Other topics of discussion include how the Underlanders teach hate, plants that get you high and dismember you, and Hamnet’s pacifism.
