Second Lead Syndrome featuring BAEK IN HO from Cheese in the Trap

Cheese in the Trap follows the life and relationships of university students, particularly that of Hong Seol (Kim Go Eun), a returning student who had to take a break from college due to her family’s poor background. While she is welcomed heartily by her good friends, she also inadvertently catches the attention of Yoo Jung (Park Hae Jin), a handsome, athletic student with a hidden dark side—manipulative tendencies to destroy those he doesn’t like. Seol thinks he is why she had to quit a year ago and cannot understand why he is suddenly interested in her—and romantically too. She tries to avoid him because she doesn’t understand what he wants, but they soon begin an awkward friendship that develops into a relationship. The arrival of Baek In Ho complicates their rocky relationship further, as Jung and In Ho were once close childhood friends who have become enemies.

Who Is Baek In Ho?

Baek In Ho is a talented pianist and high school student. He and his sister, Baek In Ha, came from an impoverished background and were eventually adopted by the wealthy family of Yoo Jung. Jung and In Ho are best friends while they are growing up, but it changes when In Ho gets into a fight that damages his hand—a fight he believes Jung was responsible for instigating—ending his dreams of becoming a renowned concert pianist. In Ho goes to the same university as Seol and Jung.

Why Baek In Ho Gives Us Second Lead Syndrome

Baek In Ho’s story makes us want to wrap him in a blanket and protect him from the storms of life. Though he was adopted by Jung’s family, In Ho never really felt like it was his own family. As a result, he works hard to pay off his debt even while he is still a student. He does what he can for his sister because he cares for her (even if she has psychopathic tendencies).

After In Ho’s and Seol’s paths cross, they develop a solid friendship. He bickers with her, teases her, and they become genuine friends. As the drama progresses, he starts liking her but doesn’t act on it, knowing she is Jung’s girlfriend. Instead, he protects her and helps her however he can, such as giving her a bag of self-defence items when she has trouble with a stalker.

In Ho never once thought that he was entitled to Seol’s friendship (unlike Jung, who has everything about him screaming red flags from the start), nor did he try to interfere with Jung and Seol’s relationship and get her to try to like him. He is genuine and selfless—the complete opposite of Jung, who always seems ready to dump Seol if she ever thinks of leaving him first (sociopathic tendencies much, Jung?). In Ho’s character development throughout the series may be painful and, at times, frustrating to watch, but the end is beautiful.

Seo Kang Jun does a terrific job portraying the rash yet caring Baek In Ho, with his light-coloured eyes, unruly hair, and lips curled upwards. Despite his brash manner, you can’t help but feel for this poor little boy who only wanted to be part of a family.

I watched School 2015 in 2016 and it's half second of 2021 now YET I STILL CAN'T FREAKING GET OVER GONG TAEKWANG. WHY MUST THE WRITERS HURT ME LIKE THIS?! I NEED TO SEE THAT SWEET LITTLE ANGEL TRULY HAPPY.

BUT THEN I REWATCHED IT UNTIL THE END AND JUST BEAR THE PAINFUL YIBI SCENES BECAUSE I WANT TO FORGET IT AND ACCEPT THAT THEY'RE TOGETHER BUT CAN'T. WTF. I JUST CAN'T SEE ANY REASON AS TO WHY DID EUNBI FALL FOR YIAN.

CAUSE HE'S FUNNY? TAEKWANG IS FUNNIER. CAUSE HE'S HANDSOME? TAEKWANG IS BOTH CUTE AND HANDSOME. CAUSE HE SAVED HER IN FRONT OF CLASS FROM SOYEONG? TAEKWANG STAND UP FOR HER FIRST.

AND ALL THESE YEARS I THOUGHT IT WAS AN OPEN ENDING BUT THEN I REALIZED EUNBI DID SAID SHE LIKED YIAN BUT SHE WANTED TO BE SURE OF HER FEELINGS FIRST, AND THAT SHE'LL RETURN THE FAKE MEDAL WHEN SHE'S SURE OF HER FEELING.

AND FVCK EVERYTHING, SHE DID GAVE HIM THE MEDAL AT THE END OF THE EPISODE. THIS MEANS THAT THEY'RE TOGETHER NOW SMH.

Ppl said Taekwang is happy, he now know that his father does love him and they're finally smile to each other and even shared a meal together but TAEKWANG SAID HE WOULD NOT STOP LOVING HER EVEN THOUGH HE KNOW HE WOULD BE HURTING JSJJSJSJSJSJS WTF GIRL IF I WERE YOU I WOULD FALL FOR HIM THAT INSTANT.

And also ppl said Yian was mad and treated Eunbi as shit because she was pretending to be the girl he likes, but my problem in this matter is not Yian. It's Eunbi! Yeah Yian lost his girl and is mad at someone pretending to be her, thats why he's understandable and I don't blame him but if I was Eunbi I AM NOT GOING TO FALL FOR SOMEONE WHO THOUGHT THAT HAVING SOME REASON MAKE IT RIGHT TO TREAT ME LIKE SOME UNVALUABLE SHIT. AND DON'T EVEN BOTHER TO APOLOGIZE FOR ONCE.

I DON'T CARE 'BOUT OTHER PPL, GIVE MY PUPPY THE HAPPINESS HE DESERVES. OR AT LEAST SHOW ME THAT HE IS NOW TRULY, I MEAN TRULY HAPPY NOW AND HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT HIS HOPELESS CRUSH.

Good morning Call was on my recommended list on Netflix. I was like okay, Ill give it a try. Looks interesting, and I thought it would be a hate relationship. Unfortunately, she fell for him first. RANT–>the MAIN IS SO WEAK. LIKE HOW CAN YOU LET SOMEBODY TREAT YOU LIKE THAT. I guess you can say the femminist side of me raging. How can you like someone that insults you and then tries to make it up by doing something nice. Thats EMOTIONAL ABUSE. THATS NOT ROMANTIC. You start to think you are not good enough for that person which makes you want to keep liking that person and prove them that you are good enough for them. That is clearly happening to the main. THATS SO WRONG. EVERYBODY IS GOOD ENOUGH. LIKE NO. NOBODY DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE THAT. I understand that Uehara has some type of trauma but dont tell me that “Nao can help him!1!1+1!” But not at the cost of her mental and emotional health. She ends up getting hurt so much. Uehara needs help mentally, and prob should get therapy because of his trauma. He needs a break from life. Its not something to be embarassed about, if you need help, thats fine! I encourage to get it. TEAM DAICHI. Hes such a sweetheart. He knows everything about her. You can call his love genuine. He doesn’t try to control her and respects her decisions. He lightly teases her but its not that serious. He doesnt do it often. He takes the lead in getting tickets and AND HE SAW HER STRUGGLING WITH THE BAGS AND HE CARRIED FOR HER NOT LIKE THAT JERK. HE TREATS HER LIKE A HUMAN BEING. HES NOT EVEN CLINGY. I know its useless to be team daichi lol cause its not going to happen. You can say hes getting weird with uehara but thats just man pride. I quite not understand it but its a man thing. ANYWAYS, i hope girls dont believe that its "true love". I hope these type of dramas dont discourage the actual nice genuine guys out there to be themselves! Please love Daichi. Daichi, I will love you. Take me to the aquarium instead!1!1! What are your thoughts?
