he sits beside you on the couch, engrossed in the random shows on tv. you, on the other hand, are busy reserving a table for your date at the new restaurant downtown. the sheer delight in your voice makes him glad he succeeded in emptying his tightly packed schedule for you.
[saturday night at 7 is available. would that be okay?]
a bright smile adorns your face upon hearing the employee's query. securing a table feels fortunate; it's not always easy on weekends, after all.
"alright, let me ask my husband first," you say to the phone and raising your eyebrows in silent expectation, demanding for his response.
Tumblr media
⌗MICHAEL — the second that word comes off your lips, best believe michael is already grinning like an idiot.
him, your husband? seriously?
he never thinks too deeply about marriage—though he does want to tie the knot with you when the time's right—but he loves how endearing it sounds when you call him that. there's a mischievous glint in his sapphire eyes before he moves closer to your body.
"her husband says yes."
being the menace he is, he announces directly to the speaker, loud and clear, earning soft giggles from you.
"do you hear me? her husband—"
you cut him off and quickly apologize to the poor employee, all while suppressing the laugh that threatened to spill out of your mouth. he will tease you about this for the rest of the evening, and you will spend hours caged between his tattooed arms, listening to him yapping about his dream wedding. not that you complained.
Tumblr media
⌗RIN — convinces himself he maintained his facade well, but the subtle dusting of red on his cheeks betrays him. he's unable to focus on the tv screen because did you really refer to him like that without warning?
realizing you're still waiting for his answer, rin fakes a cough to even his tone and mutters, "fine," loud enough for the employee on the other side to hear.
immediately shoots you a questioning glare after you hang up. he tries to act unaffected (which he fails miserably) and asks, "what was that?"
"what was what?" you playfully hum.
"you did that on purpose."
"i don't know what you're talking about, baby."
the slight pout on his lips amuses you more than you want to admit. he hides his burning face in the crook of your neck, mumbling something you can't pinpoint.
when you chuckle at his sudden clinginess, he looks up to you with those big, sparkling round eyes that remind you of his younger self. he's going to wife you up someday.
Tumblr media
⌗REO — you know damn well reo's sickeningly in love with you, and somehow you think it's okay to casually address him as ‘my husband’? are you trying to make him explode?
the tv show is long forgotten and he's all over you in an instant, giving you a bone-crushing hug along with a sweet, dopey smile that you adore so much. you can whine and say it's just a prank, but it's too late to take it back. he already envisions the whole wedding thing.
"whatever my wifey wants," he speaks to the phone, all giddy and lovestruck. "rent the entire restaurant if you want, wifey. or buy it. or don't. actually, i'll just build you one."
before his rambling causes the employee even more confusion, you shut him up with a kiss and proceed to finish the reservation.

As you're looking down at yourself, making sure there's nothing out of place, you just hear the loud sound of Sara inhaling deeply which makes you startle and you watch her quickly in panic.

"You like this one?"
"What?"
"No fucking way, Y/N! You look amazing!"
And at that moment you can feel the color come back to your face and you calm down.
"Come here!" she asks you excitedly, "I want to take a closer look."
You stand in front of her and turn on your own axis to get a better look at yourself in the large full-length mirror, instantly liking what you see.
Last year your dress for the Targaryen ball was red. And you don't usually repeat colors. So now you've chosen a deep ocean blue dress.
Which is Aemond's favorite color.
"This is the one, definitely."
"Really?" you put your hair behind your shoulders, watching you carefully, "Is this one better than the last one?"
"In my opinion the style is better."
You've tried on dresses of the same color in different styles before and honestly… you liked this one better than the others.
It's a long dress open at an angle exposing your left leg. It has no neckline, is strapless and shimmers in a metallic shade beautifully.
This is it.
You think definitely more convinced than ever as you look in the mirror after a few more inspections. You'll shine brighter with your hair and makeup done, you know it and you know you'll look beautiful. That's why you can't wait for the day to come.
You can't wait for Aemond to see you.
"And why did you choose this color?"
"Because it's Aemond's favorite color and it will match his sapphire."
"Oh yes," says Sara in a reminiscent tone, "I had forgotten that detail about your best friend."
"His sapphire eye?"
"Yes."
"But if that's precisely why everyone at the university knows him."
"They also know him for his hair and for apparently having come from the very palace of the Greek gods, don't forget," she says, also amused.
You let out a small laugh.
"Yeah, it's true."
After a little silence between the two of them where they inspect the dress, Sara stirs a little and seems to fight against herself to say what she wants to say. Until she grimaces and nerves invade her as she speaks.
"Listen Y/N…" she says cautiously, "It's not that I want to be nosy or anything, in fact I don't like to know people's things about things like…" she bites the inside of her cheek "That seem very delicate" she says finally "And it's that I'm very curious, I—
"You're a gossip, Sara," you remind him in an amused tone, interrupting her.
"Well… yeah, it's true, who am I kidding," she nods in acknowledgment, shrugging her shoulders and you laugh.
"You want to know what happened to Aemond's eye?"
"Yes," she murmurs, almost embarrassed, "But it's just out of curiosity and if it's something very personal then I understand."
You take a long breath and look away from the mirror to observe her.
"Yes, it's very personal," you tell her, "I can only tell you that it was a horrible accident that happened to him as a kid. He still finds it a little difficult to talk about it, even with his mother and sister."
"Yes, of course," Sara nods sympathetically, "In fact something like that I had imagined."
You nod too, sympathetically, thinking about it.
"At first, when I met Aemond in high school and we started our friendship, he didn't want to tell me," you confess, "It's not as if I insisted on the matter, of course not... but he knew I was curious about it. And it wasn't until after he was sure that I wasn't a fake friend, as I was with him, that we both confided a lot of things to each other until he told me about his accident."
"How old was he?" she ask attentively and curiously.
"Barely ten."
Sara raises her eyebrows in surprise with a face of pity.
"Ten?" she repeats in a murmur, "Wow. I can't even imagine. It must have been pretty awful, huh?"
"It was," you assure her.
You know Aemond has only told about what happened to you and a guy who was his best friend in high school, who now that guy got into another college in another state.
And what happened was that Aemond defended his little nephew, Luke, from some boys who were picking on him and wanting to almost beat him up at school.
But the blows went to Aemond who had to defend himself as best he could against four boys even a little bigger than he was at the time.
Then one of the boys did not measure his strength, hit him and pushed him too, and because of the push Aemond fell on top of a net of wires that made up a small garden in the huge backyard of the school.
They didn't even let him get up, so Aemond also hurt some parts of his body.
And out of desperation, before he could try to do anything, another one of the boys hit him in the face and that's when a piece of wire ripped his eye as he turned his head towards the wires from the blow.
When Aemond was telling you everything, you didn't even know what to say.
And the best punishment the bully boys could have received was to have been expelled. But it wasn't enough for Aemond and his family. They had taken his eye and that was 'justice'.
Luckily his whole family supported him and was there for him through the whole difficult process of doctors appointments, therapies, medications and so on.
His uncle Daemon especially made sure he received the best possible treatment with the best doctors and nurses while his older sister, Rhaenyra, searched for solutions to his lost eye along with his mother.
"And why does he have that sapphire? Didn't he think about a prosthesis or something like that?"
"As a kid, all he wanted was to recover and cope with the physical and emotional pain, and also to get used to his only right sight," you explain, "And then he told me he was thinking about it, but it's been a long time. Maybe he has already got used to the sapphire."
"And it doesn't hurt him?" asks Sara curiously, thoughtfully.
"No, he always has his appointments with the ophthalmologist," you let her know, "I guess the sapphire is to maintain an appearance. Kind of like what rich people do."
"Oh, of course," Sara nods with more understanding, "It makes perfect sense vonsidering how exaggeratedly rich he and his family are."
You let out a small laugh, turning to look at yourself in the mirror at the beautiful dress.
"Yes, they are," you murmur, "Are you sure your aunt will let me pay her weekly?" you ask, looking at her again a little worried.
"I already told you yes, Y/N. Stop worrying," she says amused.
"But she already knows?" you ask distrustful.
"Yes, she knows," she assures you for the eighth time, "She just said that by the time you decide to stop paying for it for one reason or another, there is no refund and you have to return the dress. And if you tear it, stain it or something, you pay extra."
"Oh, I'm not worried about that," you make a nonchalant gesture, "I'm definitely going to finish paying for it."
You think about how the dress is so beautiful that it doesn't deserve to be worn for just one occasion. You can wear it to another event, not necessarily just the ball.
And after you've picked out the last dress, you both leave the dressing room, secure everything for payment, and Sara takes you home and you both say goodbye saying you will see each other tomorrow in class.
When you arrive at the apartment, only Vhagar greets you, to which you assume that Aemond must still be in class or with his girlfriend.
So you decide to take Vhagar with you to your room to do some homework and wait for Aemond to arrive to have dinner together.
And by the time you finally hear his arrival at the apartment, you take Vhagar in your arms and leave your room to ask him how his day was and what he wants for dinner tonight to see if it matches what you want.
But the words get stuck in your throat the moment you see him and your eyes meet his, watching him in shock, definitely not expecting this.
And at your reaction of saying nothing and continuing to stare at him in disbelief, he lets out a small laugh as he runs a hand through his neck and hair.
"What do you think?"
And that's when you seem to remember how to talk.
"No way," you mutter, "Are you fucking kidding?"
"As I understand it, your head can't grow, Y/N. At least not at this age," he tells you amused.
"Shit," you say still in disbelief, "It looks fucking amazing, Aemond!" you finally react with a huge smile.
He has cut his hair.
His fucking long hair is now short and he looks so ridiculously good, like it's not an everyday thing, as well as he looks even better than before and even... sexy.
And in an instant you're all over him, running your fingers through now his short, silky, still straight hair with some waves at the ends that now point slightly upwards.
Even his face, his figure, his sapphire, everything about him looks better than before just because of a haircut.
"Why didn't you tell me?" you ask, still surprised and puzzled, with a small smile.
"I wanted it to be a surprise," he says with a smile, "What do you say, do you really like it?"
"I love it," you confess, "Even you, everything about you—
You stop, not wanting to look nervous, not wanting to insinuate your true feelings for him through his new appearance.
That's why you think very well what you will say before you speak, controlling yourself not to say anything too much.
"Well... it looks better," you finally say.
"Thank you, pretty one."
He smiles at you and you melt at the sight of his expression, simply because of the gesture accompanied by his new cut, so you couldn't be more ridiculous, but you can't help it either.
You find it so attractive and so striking the way you watch his dimples form and look, even they so damn good, again, because of his new haircut.
"I hope Alys likes it too."
You bite your lips, not wanting to focus on his comment at the mention of his girlfriend.
"And why did you decide to cut it?" you ask not to talk about her, acting nonchalant but still feeling surprised.
"I thought it would be a good idea to cut it for the ball," he confesses, "It's this weekend and I thought I'd do it now because I knew I wouldn't do it later."
You both laugh, as that is very Aemond Targaryen and you both know it.
"Well, I'm glad to hear that," you say with a small smile, "I've got everything ready for the ball too."
"Oh really?" he raises his eyebrows, interested, "Now what color dress did you choose?"
"Nope. No details."
You turn away from him in an instant and head to the fridge to finally make dinner, because you know if he keeps looking at you and talking like that, you'll end up showing him everything.
"Oh come on, Y/N."
"I'm so sorry but you'll have to wait for the day."
"Are you serious?" he asks you.
"Even your new haircut isn't going to convince me."
"Hmm."
He certainly says with a disappointed tone and you let out a laugh.
"Be patient, Aemond. Now..." You look at him, "What do you want for dinner?"
You and Aemond talk about what his mother has told him she has planned this time for the ball with his sister Rhaenyra while you prepare dinner and listen to him at the same time. And when everything is ready, you both watch a movie in the living room.
And the next morning, Aemond Targaryen with his new haircut is all you hear about even among all the girls in your apartment. Even something as simple as a haircut drives them all crazy. Even you.
But that it's already a real topic of conversation is amazing.
And the next few days are really stressful for you, also for Aemond, as you have to push your respective careers forward with homework and projects.
In fact the week is so busy that you barely have time for breakfast in the morning as you have to rush to the university. Aemond also told you that he was very busy with the same thing.
But it's worth it.
You tell yourself even in every break that you actually make use of to continue doing more homework.
And for you there is no better motivation than knowing that by the time the week is over, you will finally be free and the ball will be a great way to finally relax and have fun with your best friend.
And you honestly can't wait.
However, you were not prepared to hear what Aemond says to you the day before the ball when you arrive at the apartment and he is already there, apparently waiting for your arrival.
And you knew it wouldn't be good what he would say to you the moment you see the sadness, worry and sorrow in his eyes as he watches you.
"My family wants to meet Alys."
He tells you and then says nothing for a few more seconds, looking away from you, running a hand through his hair, frustrated, to which you already know what he will probably tell you.
"And I couldn't think of any better occasion than to take her with me to the ball so everyone can meet her."
And her words stab like a dagger into your heart, shattering it into little pieces.
And he speaks to you so softly, so carefully and so sorrowfully at the same time while you want to believe it's a damn joke and he's really not doing this to you.
"I'm so sorry, my pretty one," he looks at you with all the anguish in his eyes for your reaction, worried, "Could you do me this favor, just this once, please?"
Do him the favor?
You repeat in your mind, just watching him without really having any expression in your look, because you don't want to make him see that he has broken you with this news and this suddenly change of plans.
And his next words only make you feel worse for your lack of response, with him wanting to make the situation better, as if it were possible.
"You could still come, you know. I'll be with Alys, but Helaena or Aegon can keep you company and eventually I'll try to be around you as well."
"I'm not taking Alys."
He had said.
"This ball belongs to both of us, it always has. And I'm not going to break the tradition."
He had promised you.
And you say to yourself: he is asking you this as a favor. It's just a ball and it's only fair that his escort should be his girlfriend. Don't bother, you shouldn't bother.
"I know you had everything ready and I know I shouldn't be telling you this a day early."
He continues saying to you with sorrow, and then he goes to you in a desperate action and takes your hands in his.
"But I promise you that I will make it up to you, I will—
Unable to stand it any longer, you take your hands from his, which makes him stop and look at you instantly, a little surprised and worried by your reaction.
And you again... you act unconcerned and like it's no big deal.
Mostly because you no longer want to keep listening to his promises that are worthless in the end, you also don't want to be around him right now and also because you want to end the matter once and for all.
"Okay, I understand."
You tell him with the best look you can put at that moment, really trying to pretend that everything is fine, almost convincing him, almost.
"Don't worry."
And without waiting for anything else, because you really want to get away from him, feeling that if he tells you something else you're really going to burst into tears right then and there, you walk past him and head to your room.
But he doesn't let you go so easily.
"Y/N..." He holds you by the shoulders, looking at you worriedly, "Talk to me, please."
You let out a small laugh, the fakest laugh you've ever let out, trying with all your might to make it okay.
"What do you want me to say? I told you it's okay."
Again you try to pass by him but he again stops you. And you let him.
You let him because you don't want him to see you bad, broken. You let him because if you get upset, if you let him see that he has broken you, you fear he will realize your true feelings.
And you don't want that now that he has a girlfriend and looks happy with her. So happy that she even managed to change his mind about taking her to the ball even though he told you he wouldn't because that ball belonged to the two of you.
And you don't want to ruin that for him if that's what he wants, you also don't want to make a big deal about the change of plans. You want to make him see that you're okay with it.
Again...you don't want to look sad and broken in front of him.
"I know you, Y/N," he says to you in a sad, apologetic soft voice, "I know you're not okay with me wanting to take her now because I told you I wouldn't, that this ball belongs to both of us," he lets out a long breath, "But I—
"I'm perfectly fine with it, Aemond," you interrupt him with the most nonchalant and fake look possible, "I mean... she's your girlfriend and it's only fair that you take her, right?"
And your words don't know why they make her feel worse when that's just what she needed from you: understanding.
But somehow it feels a hell of a lot worse that you're understanding him after he knows he promised you he wouldn't take her and you'd both go together.
"But you—
"Look... actually this is good," you lie, "Now I have a lot of homework to finish and also a big project due on monday. The weekend will help me to get everything done and delivered on time."
That's what you assure him even though this whole week you had worn yourself out getting everything ahead of schedule for next week so you could go to the ball and have fun without any more worries.
"Are you..." He looks at you suspiciously, "Are you sure?"
"Very," you say, putting on a small fake smile, "Now I just want to rest before I do everything."
He watches you for a few seconds with the softest and gentlest expression possible, still a little worried, while you watch him firmly back to show him that it's okay.
Even though it hurts like hell all this is happening.
"Well," he murmurs, looking away from you, nodding slightly, "Would you like me to make some dinner for the two of us? I can...
"No thanks," you cut him off, "I want to sleep, that's all."
And finally, carrying all your dignity with you, you head to your room, pretending that everything is fine and that you are fine.
But as you close the door to your room behind you, that's when all the appearance finally goes away and you allow yourself to really feel the way you feel.
And it makes it worse to see the beautiful dress on your bed, looking so spectacular, so ready to be worn, when you will no longer need it for the main occasion you decided to buy it and wanted to wear it for so badly.
Looking at it with longing and sadness, the first tears fall down your cheeks and you avoid letting out a sob as you bite your lips.
You would have preferred that Aemond told you about taking his girlfriend that day when you went to get the dress and then he came home with his new haircut. It would have been more preferable to telling you the day before the ball.
Either way, though, you know it would have destroyed you, just the same way you feel destroyed now.
That's why the next morning, you don't even leave your room. You don't want to and can't see Aemond knowing that today is the day it was supposed to be the two of you.
So you only leave your room when you make sure Aemond is in his room to grab something from the fridge and get back to your cave as quickly as possible.
Until the time of the ball gets closer and closer and you make sure your desk is full of sheets of your previous projects, pretending to be busy as you had told Aemond you would be.
Even his sister, Helaena, sends you an excited message asking if you will come tonight and with all the pain in your heart, you reply that you will not be able to come as you are too busy with homework and projects.
When Aemond knocks on your bedroom door and calls you from the other side. You quickly go to your desk, pretend to be busy with the sheets, tell him to come in and he does.
"I'm leaving now, pretty one."
"Okay, have fun," you say in the best possible tone, without looking at him.
You really don't want to look at him.
"I will probably come here to sleep, I don't think I'll stay anywhere else, just to let you know," he says in a soft and cautious tone, still a little worried about yesterday.
"Yeah, that's fine."
A few seconds of silence and then you hear him let out a sigh.
"Are you sure you don't want to come? You know Helaena and my brothers will be there. I can wait for you to leave."
You bite the inside of your cheek, annoyed that he's suggesting this again, when you shouldn't be.
You know he means well, but it bothers you, it hurts you. How does he think you'll want to go to the ball after changing your plans?
"I have a lot to do," you answer briefly.
And again you hear another one of his sighs.
"Okay," he murmurs.
But he doesn't leave immediately, you hear how he is still at your door and you feel his penetrating gaze, as if he is asking you for forgiveness, but you don't even look at him.
You can't and you don't want to.
You think that if he tries to talk about it again, you'll tell him how busy you are so he won't do it.
But fortunately you only hear him let out a long breath and finally close the door to your room. And the next thing you hear are his footsteps and then the apartment door opening and closing.
The next few days after what happened between you and Aemond at the ball are again like you didn't want them to be.
But it seems that the ball was an important point that broke between you and Aemond and again he and you don't spend time together anymore. It's only in the mornings when you both see each other for breakfast, but there isn't even a conversation for the time being.
There are no more movie weekends, no more going to a restaurant for breakfast on some weekends, and no more going to the grocery store together.
However, the agreement remains that he takes care of everything financially and you take care of the food, laundry and cleaning.
Still, it's as if you live alone.
Suddenly Aemond stopped coming to the apartment less and less, as well as he has stopped sleeping here constantly anymore.
Sometimes there are not even any more of his clothes to wash, mostly because they are still clean or because he takes them away or has left them somewhere else, with Alys obviously.
All the food is finished by you since he barely eats breakfast or dinner here. And the few times you've gotten to talk, there's been no mention of the ball at all.
And you can tell, as he also shows, that he seems to be very busy with his classes and also with his girlfriend.
He still pay for the electricity, water and everything you need, you know he does, but he's not even here. Now it's like you totally take care of Vhagar, which you don't complain about, but she's supposed to be his dog because you gave her to him.
And even though things are tense between you, you still can't help but feel sad and lonely every time you realize that he didn't even get to sleep and on weekends you're all alone.
Whenever you text him asking where he is or why he didn't get to sleep, he always replies the same thing: Alys. He apologizes for not telling you but still never tells you.
Now you sleep in the apartment all alone, with only Vhagar's company every day. And even though it hurt you a lot about the ball, you still miss your best friend very much.
You missed him the most especially when a nasty storm hit King's Landing at night and lasted all morning until six o'clock.
You hate storms and Aemond also knows that you are afraid of them.
That night you couldn't sleep at all, you were curled up hiding under your sheets, hugging Vhagar as your only comfort, hoping that everything would pass soon.
The next morning you couldn't go to class due to lack of sleep and Aemond didn't even show up at the apartment.
Until one night, saturday at one o'clock in the morning, you heard the sound of the door and his footsteps in the living room and kitchen.
And ready to talk to him about how you've been feeling these past few days, as well as the fact that you practically live here alone, you head out of your room.
But you stop just as you open a crack in your door when you hear and realize that he is not alone.
"We should have arrived at my house, Aemond."
"We talked about this, Alys."
"But she's always here. I don't understand why she never goes out with friends or anything."
"I told you she's not that type."
You could have closed the door and gone to sleep with the idea of talking about what you had in mind with him another day, but you stay still when you hear that they are talking about you.
And what Alys says next only makes you stand stiller and listen more attentively.
"Oh my love... Are you still worried about her?"
You sharpen your ear more, attentive and confused.
Worried about me?
You repeat in your mind not understanding, willing to listen more, even though you shouldn't but still you do.
"I'm not worried. I'm just thinking about her."
"You are worried, Aemond," Alys repeats in affirmation and in a serious tone, "What I don't understand is why if the ball was two weeks ago."
"I know," you hear him mutter, "But still, you should have seen her face... she already had everything ready and I told her a day before that I wouldn't take her with me."
"But she told you it was okay, didn't she?"
"Yeah, but..." sigh, "In a way it felt much worse that she understood."
Alys lets out a snort.
"Of course she must have understood, my love," she says obviously, "I'm your girlfriend, not her."
You press your lips together, thinking that it didn't even cross your mind that he was still thinking about the ball when he doesn't even see you and isn't even here.
You don't fully understand but you do have an idea that after the ball, maybe he needed to distance himself from you and that's why you haven't seen each other anymore and he doesn't come to the apartment.
Maybe he felt really bad about himself for killing your illusion of going to the ball together, like every year.
But if he feels so bad, then why did he do it?
You ask yourself with some bitterness.
Apparently Alys was more convincing to him and it's okay, she's his girlfriend, but he's just feeling bad after it's all over.
"You care a lot about her and it's ridiculous, Aemond. As ridiculous as it is that she lives here and doesn't give you a single penny."
And then again her words catch your attention more than ever and you continue listening attentively, with your face falling because of her words.
"Alys..." he calls out to her in a tired tone, "I already explained that to you."
"But even so," she insists with an absurd tone, "Won't she be ashamed? She's your best friend and she doesn't even think about helping you a little?"
"She does help me and you know it."
"I mean financially."
"Her parents send her what money they can for college. She buys food and also buys what she needs for her classes and other necessities."
"Oh, so not only she doesn't help you with money, but also her parents?"
"Alys–
"Hasn't she even thought about getting a job?"
"Yes, but I told her that it wasn't necessary, that she could help me with the domestic and I could help her with the money without charging her anything."
"Are you serious?"
"She's my best friend, Alys. I'm the one who convinced her to live with me because I wanted her to."
"No, Aemond. It wasn't because you wanted to. It was because you pity her."
Your heart skips a beat and you open your lips and listen in surprise, beginning to feel that sharp pain in your chest as it hurts to hear those words.
"No," he says firmly, "It's never been like that."
"Oh please, don't fool yourself," she insists, "Y/N is not like you and me...her family has no money and from what you've told me, she's always been on scholarship in everything."
"Not everyone can have what we have, Alys," he says incredulously, "Besides, why would I care if she has money or not? Other people like us are really distasteful and don't have even a shred of humility, sincerity and trustworthiness like she has."
"I don't see it that way. I think she's so different and you feel so sorry for her that you've made it easy for her by putting her in an apartment like this because you know she and her family don't have the resources."
"That's what you think. But she and I both know that's not true."
He says with a confident tone and yes, it is true.
Alys at this moment made you doubt, a lot, because of the venom he was spitting out every word and for speaking so confidently about how he really feels about you.
But you never felt that Aemond treated you, since their friendship began, with pity.
Never.
"She has always been there for me and never with the intention of taking advantage of me for what I have. Not for nothing is she my best friend and you know how selective I am with my friends."
You hear the long sigh she lets out, to which you must think she has an irritated face.
"Well, if you say so," she says bitterly, "Still, isn't it annoying that she's always here? She doesn't go out to parties, she has no friends but you, and whenever we come here we can't even have the privacy we'd like because she's locked in her room."
"This is her house too."
"She's not a child anymore, Aemond. You should tell her to get a job and an apartment of her own or live in the dorm now. Tell her you want your own space now."
"It's not even a year since we've been living together, Alys."
"So, if I tell you in one more year that we want us to live together, will she live with both of us too?
"Of course not."
He answers instantly in an absurd low tone and again you feel your heart break at his words because of how quickly he answered and in what tone.
And you can't blame him, those are plans with his girlfriend, you have nothing to do there. But you can't help it and it really hurts because you will never be her.
"Look... I admit that I do wish I could have more privacy and also that she would go out to have fun and meet new people... I even want to get here with you and she's not here."
You feel the tears start to form in your eyes, but you bite your lips and control yourself.
"But I can't just tell her that I want to live alone now and give her to understand that I want her to leave. And I really don't want her to leave, not like this," he say honestly, "Not when things are still tense between us," he sighs, "She's my best friend and I love her. I don't want to hurt her anymore. I really want to make things right with her."
And as if everything Aemond had just said wasn't relevant to Alys, she says the following with every intention of it actually happening someday soon.
"What if the two of us go live together somewhere else?"
And the few seconds of silence afterwards on Aemond's part you know is from his confusion.
"Hm?"
"If you don't want to hurt her, fine, let her keep living here so you can feel good about yourself by continuing to help her."
You frown, really hating and feeling annoyed with his girlfriend's words.
"Then we can look for another apartment to live together," she proposes and you feel your heart shrink, "It doesn't have to be now, but later, but really do it, what do you think?"
You don't hear anything again for a few seconds, wanting to hear Aemond's answer while your heart beats hard against your chest.
"Alys–
"Please, baby. I want to live with you. I want to do many things with you."
And in that moment you know it's enough as you hear them start kissing and you finally, carefully, close the door and lie back down on your bed, holding back the tears.
Not wanting to hear anything promising out there, you put on your headphones and try to sleep with this ugly pain in your chest.
You shouldn't have listened to that conversation between the two of them, but you couldn't help it. But after listening to them, staring for a few moments at the ceiling of your room, broken, you make the decision you had thought about before but were not sure about.
And that is that you will fulfill Alys' wish... you are going to look for a job and you are going to ask for a doorm in the residence.
Tumblr media
The following days after hearing Aemond's conversation with his girlfriend, continue the same.
Aemond still doesn't show up much at the apartment, the two of you don't talk much, he is always with Alys and you start looking for jobs near the university without success.
When you don't find anything, the days of searching get longer because the ones that are available are far away from your area and others don't apply for you because they ask for experience.
And at the same time you try not to let everything you heard that night affect you by keeping busy with college.
You also try not to let it affect you that Aemond said he wanted to make things right between you but he still doesn't see you and doesn't show up because he's with Alys.
You really don't understand.
That's why you continue to look for a job as it hurts you that you are practically living alone in a big apartment like this when before it wasn't like this and you enjoyed Aemond's company.
Now it's just you and Vhagar.
Then one afternoon when you come home from school and finish feeding Vhagar and start preparing food for yourself, suddenly the door opens and Aemond enters with a soft look, instantly observing you.
"Hello, pretty one."
You try not to look surprised and confused by his arrival, so you just don't let his nickname affect you and smile a little, just a little, in his direction.
"Hi."
He smiles a little more at you as his gaze turns to Vhagar who runs excitedly to greet him.
"Hello to you too my little one," he says tenderly and you see how he takes her in his arms, "I missed you."
You look away from him to continue cooking, not wanting to talk and preferring to ignore him in the same way he seems to ignore you by not showing up or sleeping here anymore, leaving you and Vhagar alone.
You want to know why he has suddenly appeared, but you control yourself from asking. Just as you tell yourself that you don't plan to say anything to him about moving into the dorm until you secure a job.
"What are you cooking?"
You hear him ask you as he approaches you.
"Fillet," you reply briefly.
"Do you mind if I ask you to cook one for me?" He asks with some care.
"No," you answer simply.
You really don't want to be rude to him, after all, this is your agreement, so you cook a fillet for him, waiting to serve everything.
"Do you have something to do today?"
He asks you suddenly and you continue cooking, without looking at him.
"Homework," you answer, "Why?"
"Ah... some classmates are coming to prepare an presentation we have tomorrow," he lets you know and you finally turn to look at him, "I hope you don't mind."
"No, it's fine," you assure him, turning your back on him again, "I'll be in my room, you know."
"Of course."
Quiet.
You continue cooking and he seems to be waiting for his food, so you don't say anything, mostly because you don't have anything to say.
You feel his gaze on you at almost all times, which you deliberately ignore, trying not to make a big deal of it.
When you start serving and finally turn your face to him to place the plates and also the glasses, feeling more firmly his gaze on you.
"Y/N...
And as soon as he says your name you knew he wasn't watching you silently for nothing, but because he was fighting himself to talk to you about something that had him in doubt.
"I know I haven't been around much..." he starts to say and you avoid letting out a sigh of irritation, "And I also know that I've left you alone with Vhagar—
"Yes, I know," you interrupt him in a nonchalant tone, "And that's okay, you have things to do and honestly so do I, believe it or not," you say quickly and then open the refrigerator, "Do you want soda or juice?"
Your clear disinterest for not wanting to talk about it makes Aemond stop talking and watch you in silence, feeling a little guilty for your attitude.
But you continue to watch him expectantly for an answer and he gives it to you after a few seconds of silence.
"Soda."
You nod and start filling the glasses. And at that, Aemond doesn't insist on the matter and simply remains silent, waiting for you to start eating together.
But he can't be like this anymore. He really wants to make things right and that's why he mentions the next:
"Don't think I forgot your birthday."
He says in an attempt to finally calm the tension between the two of you as you turn and hand him the glass and then take a seat in front of him.
"You don't?" you say almost sarcastically, almost.
"Of course not," she assures you, "It's this Friday. Aren't you excited?"
"Not really," you say honestly, "I have a project due that friday that has been causing me a lot of stress. I don't want to get a grade that isn't worth all the effort."
"Oh come on, you always get the best grades," he says with a small smile, "Don't worry, you'll see, everything will be fine."
And the next thing he does is to place his hand on top of yours to give it a gentle squeeze as he always used to do before in situations like these, just like you do with him.
At this, you try not to fall for him and his gestures, so you just nod thanking him with your eyes for his support and start eating, just like him.
"And what are your plans? Tell me," he asks you interested.
"Mmm..." You grimace, "In the morning I don't have much planned, just to talk to my parents," you confess, "After class my friends said they wanted to take me to a restaurant and at night to go out partying but... I'm still not sure about that."
"About what?"
"The party."
He takes a sip of his soda and looks at you confidently.
"Let's go."
"Where to?"
"The party."
"You want to go?" you frown.
"Of course I do," he says with a smile, "I want to celebrate and have fun with you on your birthday."
You raise your eyebrows expectantly at him.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, come on, I'll take you," he says more confidently than before, "In fact, since you won't be doing much in the morning, I could buy a cake for both of us, give you your present and I don't know, go out or watch a movie," he proposes, "Just me and you. Then I'll see you in the night and we'll go out and party."
So, for all that confidence in talking, even with that determination and that excitement in talking about making plans together on your birthday... you shouldn't but again you feel that hope come back to you.
That same spark and hope when he told you about the ball and in the end he did the complete opposite of what he promised you.
But this time... they are both talking about your birthday. You know and you know that he knows you're not just talking about anything.
That's why you stop feeling that little bitterness and forget about the conversation you overheard, you also stop considering going to live in the dorm because he just gives you hope.
"What do you say? Do you like the plan?" he observes you with a little excited smile.
And without being able to help it, you also smile softly in his direction, feeling how that emptiness in your chest fills up, leaving you feeling alone and ignored.
So you nod your head, avoiding showing too much of your happiness and illusion.
"Perfect."
And after you both finish eating, before his classmates arrive, you both make yourselves comfortable on the couches and talk about almost everything while Vhagar keeps you company.
And because of this, you feel more of that hope, that companionship that you had needed so much from him and finally everything is okay.
Everything feels okay.
Tumblr media
All the following days, both Aemond and you go back to the old routine where you don't see each other as much and don't talk much.
But at least there is that feeling that between you everything is already fine and there are plans in place for the weekend that you couldn't be more excited and anxious about.
You've already planned everything with your friends as well, so it's sure to be a perfect day.
Until finally friday arrives and you expect to wake up to Aemond making a big fuss with that happy birthday children's song.
However, it doesn't.
You wake up to a chill in your room and also in the whole apartment when you realize that Aemond is not here. You check to see if he has left you a note or a text but nothing.
Instantly you think to yourself that he must be getting that cake he promised you, so you take a shower and get ready for the day.
Then you get congratulations from your friends and other family members. You even talk to your parents who are in your little town, Stone Hedge, in the Riverlands, working hard to support your studies.
And then when you finish getting ready, Aemond still doesn't show up, so you call him but he doesn't answer, you also send him messages but nothing.
[You]: I'll be waiting for you until 12PM. I have my class at 1PM.
And you send the message, wishing and hoping he'll be here soon.
Until the hours go by, he still doesn't answer, doesn't even return your calls, doesn't tell you anything and there definitely comes a time when you can't wait for him anymore.
And you control yourself. You don't want to think anything bad. You tell yourself that maybe something important came up at school.
So you stay positive, tell yourself that he will explain when you see him tonight, and leave the apartment to go to the university.
The moment you walk into your classroom, your friends greet you with big hugs, flowers and helium balloons wishing you happy birthday, which definitely lifts your mood.
And even more so when you turn in the most stressful project you've done so far in your entire career and with all the happiness and excitement in the world you see how you get graded with an A+.
And your friends are quick to say that it's all the more reason to celebrate tonight.
When the class is over, along with Aileen, Sara, Ryan and Ryan's friend James, you head to the restaurant they told you they wanted to take you to.
There they all order a bottle of wine and toast to your birthday and also to their good grades in this final project they handed in. Even the restaurant's employees bring you a small cake and together they sing happy birthday to you, feeling very nice.
Although unconsciously, you keep thinking about Aemond.
From time to time you check your phone to see if there are any answers from him yet, but nothing. So you really try not to think about him too much and fortunately, with the help of your friends, you succeed.
Until it starts to get dark and everyone says they should get ready to go to one of the many fraternity parties.
Ryan takes you with James to your house and expecting to see Aemond at the apartment, you arrive and no one is there except Vhagar.
You let out a long breath and call him one more time but nothing, so not to be late you get ready for the party.
You're hopeful that Aemond will eventually arrive, but even when you finish getting ready, nothing. And you know he won't show up or he would have already.
But there is still a little hope.
You think, confident and positive, because it is your birthday.
You ask Sara to pick you up and soon you are both arriving at the party where you meet your other friends who have also brought friends.
"What about your best friend, is he coming?"
Aileen asks you over the music and you, still wanting to feel confident, nod.
"Yeah, he might be a little late."
She nods and takes you to the kitchen to play with the other party games before everything here becomes a mess with so many people and louder music.
And you get distracted for a moment as you start to play and have some fun with the games.
You realize that you're actually having a great time despite Aemond's absence, but you still want to see him since it's your birthday.
That's why after a few hours have passed, the party is getting more crowded and everyone is starting to drink more, you check your phone and there's still nothing from him.
You turn away from everyone for a moment to call him but he doesn't answer. You look at the time and realize that it will be eleven o'clock at night and feeling a little worried now, you send him more messages.
[You]: where are you?
[You]: i have been trying to talk to you all day.
[You]: will you at least come to the party?
Nothing.
You let out a long, disappointed breath, yet you tell yourself that he couldn't have forgotten about your birthday, he just didn't.
He made the plans, he promised you a fun day, he said you two would be together.
But then... where is he?
As you walk back to the house, across the entire backyard, you finally feel your phone vibrate several times and you stop to turn the screen back on again, hopeful.
However... you wish you had not.
[aem❣]: sorry for not responding, I was busy all day with alys and we just finished having dinner with her parents.
[aem❣]: party?
And that's all he tells you.
So surprised and incredulous, somehow already expecting it since he didn't show up in the morning you think it can't be.
You can't really believe it and you wish you were so wrong but... it's the truth.
He forgot your birthday.
Your best friend really has forgotten your fucking birthday.
He doesn't tell you anymore, he doesn't say happy birthday, he doesn't apologize for his absence on your birthday, he just doesn't tell you anything.
He just asks you that, with that question being reason enough to give you to understand that he has forgotten the whole plan and your birthday.
And you don't cry.
You really don't want to cry. He doesn't deserve it.
So you avoid breaking down at that moment and just put your phone on silent to put it in your little bag, holding back the tears and enduring this huge sharp pain in your chest.
When that's when you decide you've had enough.
It's still eleven o'clock, you have one more hour to enjoy your birthday, then you'll have fun for the rest of the party and tomorrow you'll have time to feel bad about what your so-called best friend has done to you.
But this is not going to ruin what's left of your birthday.
So you suppress everything, mentally prepare yourself and go back to the party more confident and determined than ever to have fun with your friends who are here.
And that's what you do.
But after this, enough will definitely be enough.

You are lying on your bed in a dorm room in Auradon Prep, and if you close your eyes, you can almost convince yourself that you’re somewhere else entirely. Your roommate hung a lantern in the window, and with the glass pane cracked halfway, the light sways back and forth on the ceiling, painting shifting golden silhouettes on the perfectly painted ceiling. If you let the present world fade into the corners of your consciousness, you can pretend there are flaws in the endless pristine magnificence. You could even pretend that you aren’t on the continent at all.
No daughter of a princess should ever be anywhere but in Auradon. That’s the way it should have been, but you ran the second you got the chance and ended up amongst criminals and sons of thieves instead of with other prettily polished girls. Is it a terrible thing to admit that you miss it more than anything?
You shouldn’t, that’s the worst part. You left them willingly. As time passes, though, you’re starting to think that what you thought was one great fight with the so-called lowlifes of this world might have been the greatest time of your life. It’s like fording a raging river; while you’re in the thick of the waves, you think you might drown, but when you’re safe on the dry shore again, all you can think of is the coolness of the water, how the flood had sparkled like a thousand sapphires.
You shut your eyes and then you’re back again, just a kid, happier than you’ve ever been and twice as free. It had been easy to leave, actually, easier than it should have been. In your family, there were enough siblings and cousins and relatives that just one girl could go unnoticed. It’s not that Ariel intentionally tried to blur all of her daughters together in her memory, but it couldn’t be helped. She was one of seven daughters, and you were one of many as well. It wasn’t her fault, no, but it was your excuse anyway.
It turns out that nobody bats their eyes at a mermaid’s daughter when she’s running headlong towards the surf. You dove into the waves and came up to shore miles away. Your mother was terrified of losing any one of her children to the endless sea just as her father lost her to land, so none of you were allowed to stray that close to the beach. Of course you would see how far you could go the second you were unsupervised. Of course you would push the limits just to learn where you would break.
You ended up scaring the daylights out of a boy in a small sailing craft not far from the limits of the Isle of the Lost. You hadn’t meant to go that far, but you were giddy with the feeling of doing something wrong and he was trying to escape as well. He’d offered for you to hitch a ride with him so long as the wind was good. You thought that suited you well enough, so you took the hand he gave you and listened when he introduced himself as Harry Hook.
He said his name the same way you did, emphasis on the first name and not the last. It’s the exact opposite way any child of a prince or princess does, and you think that might have been why you liked him from the start. The sun shone overhead, and you talked to him about running away and taking to the sea and all the things you wanted to do if you just had time.
Neither of you wanted to leave, not really, but of course all good things have to come to an end at some point. You watched the sun sink lower and lower in the sky with all the dread of a doomed man going to the gallows. You must have looked seriously unhappy, because you remember Harry laughing and saying that you could meet him tomorrow, if you wanted. You wanted that more than anything, as it turned out, so you eagerly agreed.
Harry took you as far as he could towards Auradon again, and watched as you dove into the water. You can still remember how he’d watched you go, the way his eyes had tracked the water as if he could look at you forever, even after you disappeared from view. He stayed there for a long time before finally forcing his ship to turn around again. You’d know; you stayed there on the ocean floor watching him back until he was gone.
The next day, you slipped away to meet him again, and the next day, and the next. When you were caught trying to go out to the sea sometime in the second month, you fought until you could find a suitable excuse. Your mother was perfectly fine to let you go to some private school by the coast, it would mean one less child to keep track of. The papers were signed and agreements made before you could so much as blink.
You, of course, never went to that school. Instead, you showed up on Harry’s ship just like usual and told him that you wouldn’t be going back. Harry had been talking about a friend of his, Uma, and how she was forming a crew of her own larger pirate ship. You wanted in, and he couldn’t be more delighted to take you home.
You think you replayed the memory of him introducing you to Uma about a thousand times over in your head, and you’ll do it again tonight. The slats of the dock had been slippery under your feet, but you knew that so long as he was by your side, you would never once fall. Uma had looked at you questioningly, blue-green hair cascading down her shoulders, but Harry had hardly been able to tear his eyes away from you.
“This is Y/N,” he’d said, “she’s my friend.” He’d imbued the word with all the hope and grief and joy you could ever possibly attach to such an idea. Harry smiled as he said it, took your hand, let his eyes open comically wide so you’d know he was just joking when he mentioned that he’d jump overboard if Uma didn’t take you on.
Luckily for him, Uma had no problems with you. She saw something in you, the same sort of restless troublemaking spirit the rest of them had in spades. Before you knew it, you were quite literally learning the ropes of how to help out on Uma’s ship.
From there on out, everything was perfect. You watched the sun rise and set from the deck of a ship you could call home. When the weather was good, you spent all night and day out in the grasp of the world, and when the storms raged on, you hid belowdecks with the best friends you’d ever had. They wanted you, not your mother in a younger form, but you. Just you. It was wonderful.
It shouldn’t have come as a surprise that you would end up falling in love with Harry. You were hurtling towards that fate as fast as you could, running and sprinting towards the inevitability of it all. No one compared. No one had half as much influence over you as him. And, when he finally managed to tell you how he felt, you thought you might be able to take over the entire world with the sheer force thrumming through your veins.
Perhaps you should have taken that as a warning. The universe doesn’t care much for happy endings, you’ve learned, even for its fairytale heroes. Princesses grow old and fade into obscurity. Princes forget how to save the day. Villains live out their days with fantastic dreams that will never be achieved. You learn how to deal with adequacy, and pretend that it is enough for you.
You loved Harry because he was wild, your untamed, brilliant boy, but then you hated him for it, too. Just once, you wanted to walk into a room and know what he was going to say before he said it. Every word from his mouth was a dagger in your chest. Some days, he was a hopeless romantic, others, he was mad and uncontrollable. He never hurt you, but at least the pain of a blow would be something you could depend on and understand.
Your mother tried to find you about a year or two after you took to the sea, and you used that as your excuse to break up with him. Harry found out you would be returning to Auradon at the exact same time as the rest of the crew. You think he might hate you for it still. You think he would have reason to hate you for a lot, actually, most importantly that you were never quite enough to match him.
So you slipped away from the ship with the worst kind of goodbye, one that you did not mean, and you never looked back. You greeted your mother and agreed when she said that it was time you took up your studies at Auradon Prep. You joined the endless number of would-be princesses and princes and pretended that it was all you had ever needed in life. If you woke up sometimes with the sound of waves crashing in your ears, or felt the steady rock of a ship beneath your feet as you dreamt, you ignored it. Such illusions only belong to the past, and they will never be yours again.
You still have a jacket of his in the corner of your room; you brought it all the way over here, anywhere you go. You never had the heart to give it back. You don’t know that you could if you tried. It still smells like saltwater and laughter and sun-bleached him, and you have absolutely no idea what you will do when that familiar scent fades.
Still, you weren’t able to completely erase his influence on you. Children of villains arrived at Auradon Prep, and instead of running away from them, you befriended them as quickly as you could. Mal thinks like you do, her and the rest. You laugh like them– not quite as polite as you should be, but loud and beautiful and real. You hang out with them all the time and, when they talk about how much they wish they were back on the Isle of the Lost, you lie to yourself that you do not agree.
You never told them the full scope of your exploits, but they know part of it, enough that one day Mal knocks at your door and tells you that she needs your help on a pirate ship. She needs to get something from the Isle of the Lost, a mysterious ingredient for a spell, but they have to keep it a secret so they can’t use the bridge. The next best option, then, is to sail. It’s not a far destination, so it would work.
A thousand memories of sun and surf flash through your head, and you find yourself agreeing before Mal can so much as finish trying to convince you to go along with her plan.
Mal blinks in surprise. “Really? You’re sure? I thought you would have mixed feelings about that time in your life.”
You breathe out slowly, trying to calm yourself. “Certain things scare me more than others.” Certain people, that is.
Mal winces as she leads you out of your dorm and back into the hallway. “Actually, we might have a problem with that.”
You frown. “What do you mean?”
Mal casts you a nervous glance. “Before I continue, remember that you already agreed. I’m not letting you leave now.”
You laugh. “I’m starting to get worried. No, Mal, I’m not backing out. Just tell me already.”
Mal holds up her hands in mock surrender. “Okay, okay. Never doubted you for a second. It’s just, well, we don’t have a ship at our disposal, obviously, so we’re borrowing one from Uma.”
You shrug. “I have no problem with that. Uma’s great.”
“Yeah,” Mal says, drawing out her syllables in an attempt to buy herself time, “but she insisted on having a skeleton crew present. You know, to make sure we wouldn’t run aground or something like that. That includes her first mate.”
Your head snaps up. “Harry’s going to be there?”
You can feel Mal’s gaze on you, but you refuse to look at her. Instead, you’re scanning the hallway, every door you pass, sure that he’s going to be waiting for you, leaning casually against a wall or peering out of a window or somewhere you could find if you just looked hard enough.
“He is,” Mal confirms, “is that going to be an issue?”
Yes. “No, I’ll be fine.”
You can’t really tell if Mal believes you or not, but then you’re rounding the corner and the rest of the VKs are in front of you, and the conversation must be dropped as Mal explains her plan. You’re going to join the four of them and Uma’s guys in piloting the ship over to the Isle of the Lost, where you’ll search for a talisman hidden somewhere on the island. Once the talisman is secured, you’ll head back. Easy as that.
Mal leads your group to a boathouse on the southern part of the shore. You take up a position in a corner of the room, hidden by the shadows. You suppose that’s why the pirates don’t see you immediately when they come in a matter of minutes later. You suppose you chose that place on purpose so you could get a good look at Harry without him seeing you.
He looks just the same. You don’t know why you thought he would change, that he would have to look different to explain how different you feel, but he’s the same. It makes a soft smile rise to your lips at the same time as the weight of all your memories pierces you through the heart.
Uma’s talking to Mal, doubt lacing her every word. “I hope you have a good idea of how to run a ship, because I don’t think any of your friends have the slightest clue what to do on the sea. That’s my territory, in case you forgot.”
“I know,” Mal says, temper just as strong as always, “that’s why I brought a friend.”
Harry arches a brow. “What friend?”
“That would be me,” you say, and step out of the shadows to face him.
For a moment, you swear that time stands still. Harry’s breath catches in his chest as he looks at you for the first time in months. He has never been one to show off weakness, always laughing off injury or claiming not to feel pain, but in this instant, you can see the shock lancing through his eyes, wracking his frame until he has no choice but to stand there and stare.
Uma breaks the silence, wrapping an arm around your shoulders with a grin. “Y/N, good to see you! I take it back, Mal. Y/N could captain a fleet of ships with her eyes closed.”
It’s easy, after that, to pull yourself together. Uma’s friendship is something familiar, a rock you can stand on. “I appreciate your confidence,” you reply, “good to see you too, by the way.”
“Of course,” Uma says dismissively, then adds somewhat unnecessarily, “Hey, Harry, look who it is!”
Harry swallows hard when Uma addresses him, tries to pretend he’s just like normal. “Yeah, I saw. Hey, Y/N.”
“Hey yourself,” you say quietly.
Evie looks at you nervously, then quickly speaks up. “So, should we get to the ship? We only have so much time before people start looking for us.”
Uma rolls her eyes. “Yeah, yeah, you guys are too popular, I get it. Ship’s docked outside.”
Harry takes this as his excuse to bolt out, and you watch him go with wide eyes. Evie heads over to you as soon as everyone’s attention is off you again. “Hey, is everything alright?”
“Perfectly fine,” you whisper back through gritted teeth. Of course it is a lie. You couldn’t be more affected by this.
You avoid Harry the entire duration of the trip over to the Isle of the Lost. It’s difficult, especially when you push off from the shore and the wind is on your face again and everything is just like you remember. You tug a few lines into place, tie them down with the knots he taught you, and race to the bow as soon as you’re free.
You forgot just how wonderful it is to sail. You laugh delightedly as the ship picks up speed, skipping over the waves as the wind snaps the sails almost to bursting. This close to the surface of the water, you can’t hear anything, but you sense something anyway, and that’s how you know to lean back up and look to your side to see Harry standing there, smiling as he takes in the sight of you.
Your laugh dries up in a moment and you feel frozen there, trapped in this moment with him. Someone calls your name a second later and you’re able to spirit away to safety, but you can still feel his gaze burning like a brand into your back every moment until the ship docks at the Isle.
Mal announces that you’ll be splitting up in pairs so you can properly canvas the island for the talisman. Before you can look at her or Evie, Uma suggests that you and Harry work together, and the rest are already partitioned into pairs before you can fight it.
Fine, then. You’re certain he’s put her up to this, but you won’t give him a scene if he wants it. Instead, you march resolutely towards your assigned location, and pretend that you’re just really invested in finding the talisman so you can’t hear him when he tries to talk to you.
Eventually, Harry has enough and puts his hand on your arm, trying to get your attention. You spin back around by reflex, dagger in hand and held to his throat before Harry can get so much of a word out. The Isle has always brought out a different part of you, more of a villain than any princess’ daughter.
Instead of looking afraid, Harry just laughs. Usually, this is the time at which you’d join in, but you narrow your eyes and hold strong.
“Easy, sweetheart,” he says when he’s finally able to get his laughter under control, “I don’t think your friends would like it very much if you killed someone on your little vacation to the island.”
You glare at him. “We’re not friends anymore, sweetheart, or have you forgotten that already?”
“When your knife is to my throat? Couldn’t forget that if I tried. Out of curiosity, why are we enemies again? I seem to remember you liking me very well just a couple of months ago.” Harry says, reaching up to tap your forearm where you still hold your blade.
You pull your dagger away but stand there still, thrumming with the urge to run. “We’re too different. You’re a villain, and I’m a perfect angel, obviously.”
Harry grins. “What, just because you’re the daughter of a princess? You’ve never let that come in between us before. You’re not Ariel, you’re Y/N, and I have always loved that about you.” Something like doubt flickers across his face. “Is that why you left? You thought you had to become more like her?”
You glance away from him, suddenly unable to look him in the eyes. “I left because I had to. We weren’t working out.”
“Why not?” Harry asks, and suddenly he’s the one in control now, he’s the one stepping forward until your back hits the wall and you have nowhere to run, “What was so wrong with us, Y/N?”
Your hands are shaking. Harry takes the knife from you, carefully sliding it back in the holster on your side. His hands linger there a second longer, and when he finally takes them away, you can’t tell if you’re glad of it or deeply unhappy that you can no longer feel him.
“We could never work,” you insist.
“Why not?” He replies, “Show me we could never work. Prove me wrong.”
Harry Hook has always been somewhat of an enigma to you, just as unpredictable as the sea that both of you love, but somehow you know it’s coming when Harry leans forward and kisses you. For a moment, you consider pushing him away, and then you realize that you do not hate this, not him, not in the slightest, not at all.
Surrender is not the worst thing in the world. Sometimes it’s like the release of a sail to the wind, the acceptance that even though you let a person go, they will always come back to you. You surrender the last of your inhibitions and you kiss him back. It is everything you missed, the fighting and the laughing, the good times and the bad all in one. It is all that you love about him and more, what you didn’t realize you held most dear until you were gone.
Harry breathes quietly against your lips and you breathe back, one small circle of in and out and together. He grins, says, was that really so bad? And you laugh and tell him to shut up, so he does, but only by kissing you again. The island can wait, the talisman and the life waiting back for you at school. You have your boy back, and you could not care about anything else.

To be human part 2
Rottmnt Leo x reader, gender neutral, friends to lovers, himbo Leo (?), one sided pining
Part 1 here
Summary: Leo has the biggest crush on you but he's afraid that you'd never date a mutant, so with the help of a clooking broach he plans to become your perfect human boyfriend!
Idk if you can tell but this is kinda Aladdin inspired
Also I wasn't sure abt posting this since it has no Y/N interactions umm so sorry if you're dissapointed
I promise the next one will have fluffy moments between Y/N and Leo!! Sorry this is short
Tag list!!
@lunaflyer @wings-of-sapphire @ssak-i @nessarolla-in-constant-flux @envyjmoney
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"¿Qué hice para merecer esto?" Is what the disgruntled Señor Hueso muttered under his breath, as he watched Leo come crashing into his restaurant.
Of all the times that mutant decides to show up, it had to be on a good day. A loud sigh left the skeleton's mouth as he watched the turtle bump into one of his waiters, knocking all the dishes out of her hand.
"Señor! Señor!" Leo called out eagerly as he approached, "I have a really, really important request and you have to-"
He was interrupted by Hueso placing his hand up, narrowing his eyes in annoyance.
"Instead of disturbing my guests, Pepino, let's talk in the staff room."
~
Leo was still wiping spilled spaghetti off himself as he spoke. Amazingly, that didn't stop his excited flow.
"Señor, bone head, buddy! Long time no see, right?" Leo asked in an overly friendly manner, offering Hueso a hand.
Hueso glanced at his hand, which had marinara sauce on it, before glancing back at Leo with an unimpressed expression.
"Uf hijo, did you just come here to cause trouble?" He asked rather bluntly.
Leo chuckled to himself, "Of course not! I just came here for a little... help."
"Help?" Hueso repeated, tilting his head as he watched Leo's over excited behavior.
"Yeah, I was wondering if you could help me get my hands on a cloaking brooch." He explained briefly while wiping away the bit of sauce that was on his shoulder.
"A cloaking brooch?" Hueso repeated raising his brow, "Why would you need one of those? I've seen you walk among humans like it's nothing."
"It's not for that."
Leo bit his lip unsure whether he should let the truth spill, no one knew of his little crush and he was afriad if he started talking about them he wouldn't know when to stop. So he took the easier route.
"It's for uh- You know... science." He lied, smiling awkwardly as if that made his reply more believable.
Señor Hueso simply shot him an unconvinced expression.
"Este idiota..." The skeleton muttered under his breath, "Why don't you just say why you really want it? It would save you from the embarrassment of lying to my face."
Yeah, Hueso wasn't buying it. Figures.
"Okay okay, I'll admit that wasn't my best performance," Leo said with a grin, although his trade mark smirk faded into a small frown as Hueso stared back at him with narrowed eyes.
"Truth is I'm trying to impress someone..." He admitted quietly, his gaze darting to the ground, while he fidgeted with his hands sheepishly.
Hueso blinked in surprise at the turtles sudden shyness, "Trying to impress someone?" He repeated curiously, looking back to the blushing turtle for futher confimration.
Leo bit his lip, his heart fluttering at the thought of them, "A human." He confessed softly.
"I've never felt this way about anyone before, they're just perfect in every way!" He explained brightly, though his happy expression faultered, "But, I don't think they'd be interested in, this whole situation." He frowned, gesturing to himself.
Hueso nodded slowly as he listened, "I see," He hummed in reply, looking thoughtful as he considered Leo's situation for a moment, "So you want to pretend to be human and lie to them?"
Leo frowned at the skeletons blutness, "It's not a lie! I'm just... bending... the truth," He said, his brow furrowing as he spoke.
Even he didn't believe himself this time.
"Alright it's kinda a lie, but what other chance do I have?"
"I don't know, tell them the truth?" Hueso retorted, Leo couldn't help but roll his eyes as he was lectured on the obvious answer, "If you really think this person is worth it, then you should be honest with them."
"The last thing I need to be is honest." The turtle insisted stubbornly, his expression souring at the idea of even attemping to tell his crush how he felt.
Leo hated to picture it, he hated that he knew his voice would tremble as he would try his best to convey to them how deeply he felt.
He hated how he knew he would stammer over his words as he scrambled to find the best way to express his feelings.
And then he would have to wait impatiently for their reply, fearing the worst, after this new discovery.
Not like he could blame Y/N.
Who wouldn't turn down a nervous idiot? And why would anyone ever be interested in someone who looks like him?
"I don't want to risk losing them." Leo finally said, sighing before meeting Hueso gaze again with a serious expression.
"Look, all I need is a brooch. I just want a chance to be with them and make them happy. Please, Señor?"
As Hueso watched Leo's sad expression he was still unsure how to reply, he knew this was an awful idea yet Leo seemed so attached to it. The puppy dog eyes that the blue masked turtle was giving him eventually casused a defeated sigh escape Hueso's mouth.
"Fine, I have a spare somewhere around here," Hueso muttered reluctantly, too tired to keep pushing, turning to his desk and opening a drawer, "Just don't blame me when things go terribly wrong."
Leo's expression immediately brightened.
"Really?!" He leaned over Señor Hueso's shoulder, eagerly watching as the skeleton searched.
Eventually, Hueso found it, a gold gemstone-adorned brooch.
As Leo looked at the badazzled brooch, excitement began to bubble in his chest, the glamorous item really did make this whole situation seem a lot cooler. This was his key to being Y/N's perfect romantic partner, something he'd dreamed of for far too long that was now finally a possibility. His heart soared at the thought.
"Here," Hueso said, handing him the brooch, "Try not to get spaghetti on it, Pepino."
Leo was practically vibrating with excitement as the brooch was placed into his hands. He nodded at Hueso's words despite not really hearing them.
"Thanks Señor! I can keep this right?" He asked.
"Just don't damage it." Hueso warned in reply, "If you do, it could stop-"
But before he got the chance to finish his words, Leo had disappeared into another blue portal.
"-working..."
Can you please say more about the Lanterns' politics?
I am so glad you asked me about this because I've been thinking about it since I reblogged that post but also I'm definitely about to get yelled at lol. ANYWAY THIS IS GOING TO BE LONG.
Tl;dr: John is the only one with a coherent political position or an up-to-date voter registration.
Hal:
Tumblr media
So something interesting about Hal is that his stories are often very political but his character is not. With one extremely obvious exception, he rarely talks about politics; rather, he serves as a means through which to tell political stories, usually unintentionally.
What do I mean by that? Well, for example, in the Silver Age, his love interest would occasionally be possessed by a misandrist space jewel that would force her to attack him, but always lose because women are inherently inferior to men and prefer to be subjugated by them anyway. That's the original Star Sapphire concept. It's wildly misogynistic, but it doesn't mean Hal the character is misogynistic. But it's also a very political story, even if I don't think the writer was deliberately trying to make a point so much as...being an average, thoughtlessly sexist guy living in the 60s. (Carol continues to be the subject of mindbogglingly sexist writing and art well into the 2000s. Fucking comics.)
And so you have Hal Jordan, whose love life was ruined by his girlfriend getting promoted above him and who called his best friend by a racist nickname for decades; Hal Jordan, poster boy for chest-thumping post-9/11 kneejerk patriotism; Hal Jordan, lightning rod for a certain kind of regressive bigoted fanboyism. Choosing Hal as the Lantern for a particular story over John or Kyle has come to signify something very specific, but none of that is necessarily reflective of what Hal himself believes.
So what about Hal himself? Well, when we first meet him, he's the epitome of privilege: a white, straight, cis, Christian (I know he's canonically half-Jewish now but that's only as of the past decade or so), ablebodied, upper middle class (Geoff Johns retconned him to have a working class background, but in the Silver Age, he had one uncle who was a millionaire, another who was a judge, and a successful politician brother) man with a flashy job. Privilege tends to lean Republican; even if he is from California, I suspect Hal voted for Eisenhower in 1956.
In GL/GA, the word "Republican" isn't used to my recollection, but Hal is definitely presented as...I'm going to say conservative by I mean lower-case C. He doesn't have deeply held political beliefs, but he's traditional. He doesn't question the system, because he's never had to. He resists things that challenge the way he's always understood the world works, and that's very relatable - most people do! And he will absolutely argue with Ollie, who certainly isn't always right about everything. But he's also willing to listen, and have his mind changed, and certainly reachable via appeals to compassion and fairness.
Once the "relevance" trend of the late 60s-early 70s was over, Hal's stories default back to ostensibly politically neutral, although obviously nothing is actually politically neutral. In the late 80s and early 90s he's the most unpleasant version of himself, and that has political manifestations, like when he allows John to be imprisoned in apartheid South Africa for a ridiculous and unnecessary crime Hal himself committed. It's extremely fucked up, but again, it's less because of Hal's actual opinions and more because Christopher Priest wanted to write about apartheid, even if it does make Hal look incredibly, horrifically racist.
Then jump to the mid-2000s and Green Lantern: Rebirth, and you might imagine that losing his hometown, getting possessed by a giant space bug, becoming a supervillain, dying, and becoming the embodiment of God's vengeance might have some effect on Hal's politics, but that is not what Geoff Johns is here to write. Johns is writing a Hal who teleported in from, like, 1967 - no nuance allowed. He's a summer blockbuster that walks like a man. He's a Baja Blast. He's never had a coherent political thought in his life. In his defense, he has had more and goofier concussions than any superhero I can think of and his brain is smooth like an egg. Still.
Anyway, all of this is to say that I think Hal tends to default to center right positions but can be easily coaxed over to center left. That said, he has never not once in his life had his shit together enough to vote in a single election, not even for his own brother.
Guy:
Tumblr media
So Guy's deal is a little bit complicated because his most vocally political era was also in part due to severe and personality-altering brain damage.
When Guy was originally introduced in the 1960s, he had the pleasantly bland personality of all superheroes. Many years later, he suffered a series of major injuries, torture, and a lengthy coma, and he emerged from the coma in 1985 with the aggressive, abrasive personality he's best known for today. Justice League International took that even further, using him to parody the jingoistic, red-blooded American action hero of the 80s.
This version of Guy is a vocal fan of Ronald Reagan and despises the USSR. He's pro-war, proudly xenophobic, and treats women badly enough that it crosses the line into repeated sexual harassment, both physical and verbal. (To be fair...ish, this last also applies to Wally West and arguably a number of other men, and was always played for laughs. It was gross all around.)
Again, this is partially a manifestation of his brain damage. There's also a running gag in JLI where if he gets hit on the head, his personality changes to this cloying, timid, gentle one, sort of halfway between a child and a flamboyant gay stereotype. Hit him again and he goes back to Asshole Guy. I'm not going to pretend I don't find some of the gags funny, but it's obviously all highly problematic, and not just from a medical standpoint.
That said, I don't think we can dismiss Guy's politics or his usual personality as simply a manifestation of brain damage. We see in later flashbacks that he developed the abrasiveness as a defense mechanism from growing up in an abusive home, and as he matures through the 90s, he doesn't actually become a significantly different person, even after his Vuldarian healing factor kicks in and heals his brain. (It's a thing.) I think it's more accurate to say that the brain damage probably affected his impulse control, his filter, and arguably even his paranoia levels.
All of which is to say that as much as I would love to go "Guy's better now, so he's not a Republican!"...that dog won't hunt. I think a really good canon writer could make the case that Guy is pro-union-style working class and also a former teacher so he's at least center left, but as of now canon evidence is pretty firmly on the red side. It doesn't help that the GLC has been written as fetishistically pro-cop and pro-military since Johns got his grubby hands all over it. I will happily ignore the New 52 retcon that Guy was a cop, and you could even try to argue that he dislikes cops because his brother was a corrupt cop who became a supervillain, but I think it's much more likely that he identifies with cops as a Corps member. Although I don't think he would have any patience for killer cops. ("You were afraid for your life even though you were the only one with a weapon? Then fucking quit, coward.")
All of that said, I think Guy is similar to Hal: defaults to center right, can be talked into center left on certain issues but he's more stubborn about it. (They would also both be enraged by Jan 6 and disgusted by the current Republican party - I can't quite argue that Guy Gardner is a Democrat but Green Lanterns don't have any patience for traitors or cowards.) It's also kind of a moot point because he never knows what is happening on Earth and hasn't voted since his pre-coma days.
John:
Tumblr media
Oh John Stewart, thank god for you.
John was introduced as an explicitly political character in an explicitly political story. The first time we see him, he's stepping in to defend Black men from a white cop, citing his own knowledge of the law to do so. He shows a much more perceptive and informed perspective on the issue's main plot (a racist senator running for president) than Hal does. Even in the little moment above, we see that he's sensitive to exactly what it means for him, a Black man, to be taking on this role.
None of this is a surprise, since we'll later learn that John's parents were civil rights activists. Not only would he not have had the privilege Hal and Guy did to assume his existence was politically neutral, he was explicitly educated about political realities and progressive advocacy from childhood. He's well-informed, he's passionate, and he's going to tell you when you are being fucking stupid.
John isn't immune from the GL cop/military...thing, although I can't blame Johns for that - it was the cartoon that made him a Marine, and the comics followed suit. But that's never outweighed his origin or his upbringing. Like, he's friends with the DCU's fictional version of Nelson Mandela.
This one is straightforward: John is a staunch progressive. He is, however, in outer space 90% of the time, so he's always at least a little bit out of date. I imagine every time he comes back to Earth he spends the first 24 hours watching the news in abject horror.
Kyle:
Tumblr media
Kyle doesn't talk about politics a lot, but when he does, he lands pretty much where you'd expect a young California-born artist living in New York City to land: to the left. My read on Kyle is that he hasn't really thought any of his politics through, which makes sense - he's a character who is led by emotion over reason every time. He doesn't have John's carefully thought-through arguments or knowledge of the law behind him. I feel like when something political upsets him, he's more likely to splutter angrily than make a coherent argument (which: same). When he's given the time to think things through and speak from the heart, though, he can be very eloquent, like in his speech to Terry after Terry accidentally comes out to him.
It's also worth pointing out that his solo appearances were mostly in the 90s, which were prone to avoiding politics or only addressing them in a halfhearted both sides-y way like the story above.
That said, I don't think he ever actually does anything about his political opinions. He never votes in midterm or primary elections, and probably only voted in a presidential one because Alex dragged him along one time. I feel like Donna tried to do the same when they were dating and that was when Kyle realized he'd forgotten to change his voter registration from California to New York. Jennie wasn't responsible enough to Mom him into doing his civic duty, and he's been in space pretty much nonstop ever since, so...
Simon:
Tumblr media
In that other post, I said Simon's experiences should have radicalized him, but instead he was created by Geoff Johns. Simon is a Muslim, Lebanese-American man who came of age in the post-9/11 era, and was wrongfully convicted of terrorism and waterboarded at Guantanamo Bay. His reaction to this was...to put on a ski mask and wave a gun around. Like, it's been a while since I've read these issues, but aside from the "ripped from the headlines!!!" of it all, I feel like Simon's experiences largely don't inform his actions or perspective except that he's super angry (fair enough).
The thing about Simon (and Jessica) is that he hasn't been around very long, and most comics don't have characters directly expressing political opinions. It's not a coincidence that these characters are in chronological order and each write-up is shorter than the last. I can think of about three times where Kyle has ever said anything I can interpret as political, and he's been around for 30 years. Simon only has a third of that history. So while one could certainly extrapolate what Simon's opinions are likely to be, I can't think of any canon where he actually says them.
Jessica:
Tumblr media
Jessica has even less to go on in terms of explicitly political comics. You'd think she wouldn't like guns because of what happened to her friends, but she has one of her own and doesn't seem bothered by Simon's. I'd imagine she has opinions on immigration as someone whose family is from Mexico and Honduras, but it never comes up. If I were writing for DC, I'd make both Simon and Jess leftists, but as for actual canon proof? I got nothing.
I will say that she probably avoids political discussions because anxiety, and I bet she got really good at voting by mail during her years not leaving the house. She probably votes by mail from space. Maybe John's not the only one with an up-to-date voter registration.
I Don't Know You
Tumblr media
Yandere Seokjin x Reader
Summary: When you attend a party with your best friend and the next morning you find out that you are married.....
Warnings: yandere Jin, obsessive behaviour, dirty talk, forced marriage
A/N: Again originally from my Wattpad account. I hope you like it and if you do please leave a like.
Masterlist
___________________________________________
You opened your eyes and felt a severe headache. You held your head with both of your hands. When the pain slowly went away, you observed your surroundings to find yourself in an unfamiliar place. The bedroom which you were in now was not yours.
You got scared and removed the blanket from your body and were about to get down when you felt a severe pain in your lower region. You looked down and found that you were completely naked.
Just then you heard the sound of the door opening. You got back in the bed and covered yourself with a blanket. The door opened revealing a very handsome and tall man. You remember him he is the man you met last night at the party. He entered inside and his eyes straight away fell on you.
"You're awake I see."
He flashed you a smile. You were not in a situation to return his smile back. So you just kept a straight face and watched him. You very well know what happened between the two of you and it was all your best friends fault. She was the one who dragged you to the party.
"Are you alright?"
You heard the voice of the stranger. How can he expect you to be alright after what happened between the two of you? You then noticed a shiny thing on your left hand. You brought your hand closer to you and there was a ring in the ring finger.
It looked hella expensive. The band of the ring was made up of what you assume, pure diamond and there was a sapphire in the middle. But the shocking thing was how did it come in your finger?
"Who are you?"
You asked the handsome stranger to make his smile drop. He came a few steps closer to you.
"Don't you remember anything, honey?"
Why did he use that nickname? It sounded like you were his wife. You don't remember what exactly happened last night but you know this much that you lost your virginity. So you nodded your head as a 'no'.
"I'm your husband, Y/N."
He is joking, right?
____________________________________________
Flashback:
"It will be fun, Y/N."
Your friend Eunji pleaded.
"No means no."
"Please Y/N"
She gave you her puppy eyes but you ignored her. This time her trick is not going to work on you. Whatever happens you are not going to the party and that's final.
Yes, party this is the reason why for almost an hour Eunji is pleading you. You told her thousands of times that you are not interested in partying but she is not ready to listen to you.
"Please Y/N, just for this time. I swear I'll never ask you to come to a party ever again."
She requested once again. Maybe you should listen to her for once. Anyway this will be the first and the last party you are going to attend. You are sure of it.
"Ok I'll go but just this once."
Eunji came and hugged you.
"You are the best Y/Niee."
____________________________________________
Eunji dragged you to the party and forced you to wear a very revealing and short dress. You were truly uncomfortable and had no intention to wear it but you can never win against Eunji.
As soon as you arrived at the party you regretted your decision to ever agree to Eunji. The place smelled like alcohol and the girls there barely wore any clothes. Most of the people present there were couples.
Few couples looked like they were about to do 'that thing' right here. It didn't look like they had any shame. You wished that you were home right now, watching Doraemon. At least you would never have to witness these unholy sights.
Even Eunji ditched you for her crush who asked her for a dance. Dance was just an excuse you very well know what they are doing right now. You were totally alone right now. You stood at a corner of the room and blankly stared at the floor.
"What is a beautiful lady doing here all alone?"
Your attention was grabbed by a masculine voice. You looked up and saw a boy whom you recognise to be from your college standing just a few feet away from you. You just ignored him. You wanted at least a metre away from him.
"I asked you something."
You looked away in another direction hoping that the boy would understand that you don't want to talk to him. After seeing your ignorance towards the boy, he grabbed your hands and brought you closer to him.
You were shocked by his sudden action. You tried to push him away but he was a lot stronger than you. Instead he grabbed your hands more tightly.
"LEAVE ME"
You yelled at him but he just passed you an evil smirk. You thought someone would notice you but to your bad luck no one even paid any attention.
"Playing hard to get, baby, I like it."
You struggled in his hold but he was not letting you go. Your arms started to pain due to his strong hold on you.
"You know all the girls are ready to spread their legs for me. What's so special about you?"
He said seductively but truth to be said his trick didn't work on you.
"I'm not like other girls."
"Feisty, huh?"
You glared at him but it had no effect on him.
"Don't worry you will be the one who will be begging me to fuck you afterwards."
"NEVER"
You will never let him win. He just laughed at your pathetic state.
"Leave her, Jaehyun."
You heard a masculine voice coming from a few feet away from you. You looked at a particular direction to find an handsome man with broad shoulders coming towards the both of you.
As soon as the boy named, Jaehyun saw him, his grip on your arms loosened. You quickly backed away from him.
"Hyung you are no fun. If you want I can share her with you."
"No need. You can clearly see that she is uncomfortable."
"You don't know her, hyung. She is just pretending this way but deep inside she wants to get fucked like the whore she is. After all all the girls want to get fucked by me but she is lucky that I chose her."
You felt like puking at his words. How can he think so low about you? You were about to slap him but were stopped by the voice of the other man.
"She is not like other girls."
You were happy after hearing his words. At least someone is there to support you.
After hearing his words Jaehyun went away with a frown on his face. You sighed in relief after he went away.
"Are you okay?"
The handsome stranger asked you and you just nodded your head. Your were thankful to him as he arrived at the right time or you don't know what would have happened to you.
"I'm sorry on Jaehyun's behalf."
"No, no why are you apologising? It's not your fault anyway. I should be the one to thank you for saving me."
"I'm glad I could come to help."
You eyes went to the dance floor where you spotted Eunji dancing with her crush. You were about to go to her but were stopped by the voice of the handsome stranger.
"Do you want to grab a drink with me?"
"No, I think it's better for me to head home."
"Please I'll pay for the drinks."
He pleaded you. This was the first time your observed him and truth to be said he was really handsome.
"No, I can't."
"Don't say you are underage?"
"No, no definitely not. Actually I never drank before."
"No worries, there is a first time for everything. Come with me it will be fun."
End of Flashback
_________________________________________
You both had a few glasses of drinks and after that you don't remember anything. You tried to remember what exactly happened but you couldn't.
"Who are you? I don't even know you."
You asked once again hoping that he would confess that he is joking.
"I'm Kim Seokjin, ceo of Jinhit Entertainment and your husband. We got married last night and don't think I forced you because you were the one who suggested getting married. If you don't believe me I can prove you."
You scanned his face and there were no signs of him lying. Even the matching rings on both of your hands suggested it. That means you got married to him in the drunken state. If your parents get to know about this, they will surely be disappointed with you and would probably kick you out of the house.
"Listen, Mr Kim whatever happened yesterday was a mistake. I was drunk and this marriage means nothing to me."
This made him furious. He got up the bed, hovered over you and pinned your hands above your head.
"IT WAS A MISTAKE AND THE MARRIAGE MEANS NOTHING TO YOU!"
He yelled at you. Right now you were scared of him. The man you met at the party last night was no longer there in his place it appeared that a demon possessed him.
"If something is mine once it will forever be mine and now you are mine. My wife and the mother of my future children. No one can take you away from me."
He is totally crazy. It was your greatest mistake on agreeing to have a drink with him last night. When you had the moment you should have ran away from there.
"Now your only job is to be the perfect housewife and take care of our children. Do you get it?"
It seems like you are stuck here forever.
Alkaline: Euronymous x Y/N Series CH 8
Tagging: @ophelialaufey@madamemaximoff06@forever-not-gonna-sink@ajmiila02@liquidsmoothdomme@shady-the-simp @auggiethecreator
Oystein paced the house all day waiting for her. He had put in a grocery order first thing this morning so he could talk to her about an upcoming show that he wanted her to come to. He also wouldn't mind her sitting in his lap and doing his corpse makeup either but he felt that might be a bit much. He watched the skies and knew rain was coming but that never stopped an order in the past when he was living at home.
He knew the others were too engrossed in their own shit to even pay him any attention as he stirred in his own anxiety but the moment her car started down the road, he started to pull on his boots, almost skidding out in front of her car as she parked.
"Were you waiting for me to get here?" Y/n smirked at Oystein as she popped the trunk of the car.
"What? No of course not. I was waiting on the groceries, obviously." He teased taking the bags that she handed him. She followed him into the house and tried to put the bags down in a spot that wasn't beer soaked or gross. It took a few back and forth trips but as Y/n closed the trunk of the car, Oystein put his body in front of the driver side door.
"So is your shift over?" He smirked. He knew what he was doing and Y/n knew why he was doing it.
"Yes, you guys were my last stop but I already told you, I'm only here to deliver your groceries." She leaned against the car, folding her arms in front of her chest.
"Well if you don't have anywhere you need to be then why not just come in and hang out with me? Dead is the only one home but he's locked up in his room. It's quiet and I can guarantee my room is the cleanest place in the entire house." Oystein wasn't one for begging but he really wanted to spend some time with her.
"I'm not going to fuck you Oystein." Y/n said flat out with a smile.
"Well I was kind of hoping I would be the one fucking you..." Oystein teased making her roll her eyes but he reached out to put his hand on her arm.
"I'm kidding, well not really but I promise I'm not trying to put any moves on you. I just want to hang out." Y/n looked him over. His skin was so pale that the blue in his eyes almost looked like sapphires. Whether he wanted to admit it or not, Oystein was a very pretty man.
"I will come in to see your room but I'm not staying." Y/n gave up. Oystein took her hand and pulled her back towards the house like a little kid ready to show off his toys. Y/n tried not to breath through her nose as the smell of piss, cigarettes and decomposition made the house reek. Oystein's room seemed to be in an isolated part of the house and she was relieved to see he wasn't lying about having the cleanest space.
"What do you think?" Oystein waved his arm around and offered her a chair. She nodded her head, passing on the chair and looking through his things. She ran her fingers across his typewriter and stopped short at the stack of records he had. She thumbed through them with Oystein approaching over her shoulder.
"Which one is your favorite?" She asked holding up two different albums. Oystein reached over her and pulled his favorite album from the bunch and put it on the player. Y/n sat on his bed and listened intensely to the music. Oystein watched her from the chair her once offered her, taking in how she listened to the music that he loved so much, almost nervous at how she might react.
"This feels like you. It's loud, very bodied and almost feels like someone is screaming secrets, if that makes any sense." Y/n tried to explain. Oystein smiled. The last thing he would ever call himself is smitten but fuck if that girl didn't say all the right things.
"It's not something I would likely listen to when trying to unwind but its not unbearable." Y/n turned her body towards him and caught his smile.
"What?" She asked nervously. Oystein couldn't help himself. He sprang up from the chair and slammed his mouth into hers. She was surprised by the contact and let herself meet his tongue with her own. She could hear the sound of Oystein's bullet belt being opened and she panicked, pushing him backwards to break the kiss.
"I told you, I'm not going to fuck you! Why do you insist on trying to make me one of your groupies dammit!" Y/n was embarrassed that she let herself get so carried away and threw the door open, fleeing the room. Oystein followed quickly behind her, trying to get her to stop.
"Y/n! Please just wait! I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable or hurt you-"
"You didn't hurt me! The kiss was fine!" Y/n had spun on her heel so fast, Oystein's knees almost buckled from stopping abruptly.
"Fine?" He was confused.
"Yes, I didn't mind the kiss but I'm trying to be one of those girls who fawns after you, gets fucked and humiliated by your friends and your band." Y/n insisted trying to open her door. Oystein shut it.
"I already told you! I don't do groupies! I never have. The girls that come here all end up fucking Hellhammer or some of the others. I don't know why you keep insisting I'm fucking everyone." Oystein argued.
"So what do you do when women throw themselves at you? Turn them away? I'm not a fucking idiot Oystein." Y/n wasn't going to pretend she didn't like Oystein but she knew any kind of relationship with him would be complicated at best.
"I tell them I don't want groupies! I find them disgusting-" Oystein's mouth stopped working almost instantly as Y/n yanked the buttons of her work shirt open, popping the buttons and flashing her bare tits to him. Oystein's eyes fluttered taking in how perfect they were. He wanted them in his mouth, he wanted them in his face. He wanted to fuck them, cum on them and watch them bounce as she rode him.
"Yeah disgusting. I can tell you have a real distaste for the female form." Y/n pulled her shirt closed and zipped her jacket to her chin.
"You aren't a groupie. You could never be a groupie to me." Oystein felt like he was drooling with how much spit was collecting in his mouth but Y/n shook her head.
"I'm sorry, I just...it's a bad idea Oystein. Once we push past that boundary, everything changes and I really don't want to end up hating you." Y/n got in her car and Oystein stood dumbfounded by the response. He watched her drive away thinking about everything she had just said. She was scared. She wanted to be more than friends with him, his feelings were mutual but she was scared of getting hurt. Now he his next move was critical. First, he was going to have to get back up to his room and handle the painfully hard cock she had left him with, then he would plan his next move.
August | Eddie Roundtree x Fem!Reader
a/n: hii my peoplee!! how are you? this is the eddie roundtree one shot based on taylor song i talking about on one of my last notes, i hope u like. my requets are open!
inspired on taylor swift song August
words: 1.7k
tw: angst, heart breaking, eddie being stupid, it's not revised so grammatical mistakes
Tumblr media
You and Eddie are a thing.
You and Eddie are a complicated thing.
Is complicated the right word? You're sure about this, in fact, in relation to Eddie, you never have sure about nothing. A relationship full of false hope and questions. But how do you get here?
Salt air and the rust on your door, I never needed anything more,
Whispers of: Are you sure?
Never have I ever before.
Eddie and you meet for the first time at an infamous party of Daisy on the Chateau Marmont, you know Daisy since her adventures in Strip and she never forgets you. You get a friendship with her, since that time you and her still partying together. After she joined The Six, the parties only increased and you were in all of them.
In one of these parties, Daisy shows you to one of her bandmates. Eddie Roundtree. You know his existence, but never noticed him since that night. What you didn't know is he had noticed you before, he got his eyes on you for a long time and he asked Daisy to introduce you.
On that night you talk the whole night, while the people round on the dance floor, you learn about each other, Eddie tells stories about his life, how he got his first guitar, stories of the band, past loves, his past life in Pittsburgh. And you tell your story too and confess your whole life to him.
Is a new thing for you, you never had opened up with a guy from "Strip" like you had with Eddie. You've a serious rule for "Sunset Strip" guys, you don't get them to come close to you, because you know most of them just want to get in your pants. But Eddie, oh he's different, he sounds different. He's like sapphires in the middle of false diamonds. .
But is he really so different from the others?
But I can see us lost in the memory,
August slipped away into a moment in time,
'Cause it was never mine,
And I can see us twisted in bedsheets,
August sipped away like a bottle of wine,
'Cause you were never mine.
Salt air, the weather was strange, but who cares about it? You and Eddie were together, so who cares? You were twisted in bedsheets, hidden from the world in your bedroom, just you and him. Everything makes sense now, it's all about that, share a bottle of wine, listen to Eddie play new songs to you.
Hiding is the most thing you did together. Hidden in parties, after shows, in your house, every place is a new place to hide. Eddie had a list of places you could stand together and act like a couple. For some reason, he didn't want the people to think that you are a couple. Especially his bandmates. No one in the band knew about you two.
You never questioned him about that, you thinking this is happing because you're not dating, so it's a good reason. It's a good reason? You make questions to yourself everyday about it, but it's Eddie! He's different and you have connection, making memories daily, you knew him, you belong to him and he belongs to you.
Your back beneath the Sun,
Wishing I could write my name on it,
Will you call when you're back at school?,
I remember thinking I had you.
For the first time, Eddie took you for the band house, nobody was there, but it's a good first step, isn't? You're together in the terrace, the sun shines on you and reflect to world, is a good felling in side, be with the person you love and should love you too.
You and Eddie was in your world when listen a voice echoed in the house.
"Hey everybody? Is someone there?" You recognize that voice. Is Camilla Dunne, Eddie's childhood friend. You're enchanted with her, she's so kind, sweet and beautiful and takes care of everyone around her, you fall for her and who wouldn't fall in love with her.
"Go to my bedroom" The bassist said and left you before you could say anything. Since you and Eddie had this "thing", you become too good to hide. In the midway for his bedroom you start thinking better, why Eddie wants to hide you from his friends? They're his family. What's the problem with you?
You heard the talk between them and felt a strong urge to go downstairs and introduce yourself to Camilla. It could be a new step for you and Roundtree, you stood in front of the ladder and went down a few steps. But before you could do something, Eddie shows up on the front of the stairs.
"Go back upstairs, she can't see you"
"Why not?"
Eddie takes a deep sigh "We will talk late" Liar. You know it's a lie, always when you come close to starting a fight he says "late" and it ends.
"No! I want to know right now! Why can't I talk with your friends?"
"What? Hell no! Of course you can talk to my friends, but Camilla is different"
" Why she's different? What's she mean to you?"
"Eddie, you've someone with you?" Camilla said and you can hear her footsteps coming closer.
"You need to come up, we'll talk later" He walked off leaving you on the stairs. It wasn't something new, Eddie leaving you in a pit of hope and disappointment. Hope that you would become something, that you would make plans for the future together, that you would be enough for him.
That day you had your big fight.
Remember when I pulled up and said: Get in the car
And then canceled my plans just in case you'd call?
Back when I was livin' for the hope of it all, for the hope of it all
Meet me behind the mall
"What asswhole! I'll kill that dickhead" Daisy said she's got furious after you tell your story with Roundtree for her.
"Please Daisy, don't make it worse than it is" You had your arms around your body trying to protect yourself from something you didn't know what it was.
Since what happened at The Six's house, you and Eddie have stopped talking to each other, no calls, no meetings, no hiding out at your house. After that fight you haven't spoken to each other. You tried several times, God knows you tried, going to their parties, calling his number. God damn it! You even asked Daisy to take you to one of the shows.
But nothing worked, you met him every time, but he didn't talk to you, in fact he didn't even look at you, it was as if you were nothing to him, as if you had never spoken those beautiful words to each other, exchanged secrets and kisses, it's like you're just a moment in time.
"You can't let him use you like this and just ignore you now, S/n!"
"He didn't use me Daisy! I was there because I wanted it, I wanted him. And I lost him"
"But he can't act like this with you, say nice words and gone, you need to talk with him. I'll fix it" Daisy walked away from you leaving you alone in the living room of her hotel room.
You're tired of fighting for something you aren't sure about anymore, making hopes for something that will never happen. Oh, how did you get here? Lies, dreams, delusions, insecurity coming from words that once made sense. You can't save something that doesn't belong to you.
Back when we were still changing for the better
Wanting was enough
For me, it was enough
To live for the hope of it all
Cancel plans just in case you'd call
And say: Meet me behind the mall,
So much for summer love and saying us
You had forgotten how good Daisy's parties could be since getting involved with the bass player from the Six's, it was something that changed your days for a moment and made you realize how fast life can change.
Falling in love and breaking up was something new for you. Dealing with disappointment and embarrassment was something you needed to learn.
"Why did you tell her? I thought we had fixed it out" Your thoughts were interrupted by Roundtree.
"Fixed what? I don't remember that we had a talk. We don't had nothing"
"That fight means a lot, don't you think so?"
"What I think? You care about what I think? Or is it just another lie?" You took all your courage and aren't coming back now. "Don't lie anymore, I know I didn't mean nothing to you"
"I always cared about you, it was a good time. I really enjoyed being with you."
"But not enough to make us something real, right? He stared at you in silence, you were quiet with your thoughts for a long time but now it would be different. "What are you running from, what are you so afraid of?"
"I know it is late to try to fix it, but I will be honest with you" For the first time in a long time he looks deep into your eyes and you've slips of past memories "There's another person…"
Oh of course it is, someone else, someone better, someone enough for him. It hurts you and for a few minutes you feel down, as if you were sinking in a drilled boat and water was in your lungs.
You get all the courage left inside you and ask "Who?" Eddie didn't answer. He never answered your question, in fact he didn't need to, his eyes following the black-haired woman dancing on the dance floor with her husband the Six's frontman said it all. She was the reason. And how could you never imagine this? The two of them grew up together and God! She was perfect, how could you look at her and not be on your knees for her in the same minute, it's impossible.
And in this moment you realize that you never could lose Eddie, because he never is yours to lose.
'Cause you weren't mine to lose
You weren't mine to lose, oh
———
heyyy everybodyyyy!! how are you today? i hope u ok!! if u like, reblog and like this means a lot to me, my requets is open ❤️
It all started with a playful glance during painting class and, a few weeks later, a small smile when you noticed the paint stain on Steve's nose.
Steve was too shy to talk to you, and you had ignored all the times Bucky tried to flirt with you.
You were beginning to consider talking to Steve and asking him out for ice cream. Although the last thing you wanted was for his friend to be included in the plan too, you needed him to be alone.
Tumblr media
You decided that today would be the day, but first, you had made a plan. One of your friends was going to entertain Barnes so you could talk to Steve; it would be at the end of the class, although you were also going to owe him a trip to the cafeteria, not to mention that you had to put up with her for ten minutes laughing at what you asked her.
"It's beautiful," Steve said, standing behind you.
“Excuse me?" You turned to face him; maybe what you liked the most were his beautiful blue eyes.
“Not you, your painting; I mean, you are beautiful too." Steve now sounded confused; he wasn't even sure what he meant.
“Thanks, Steve."
“Ehm Y/N..."
Wait a minute, he knew your name? You were so excited that you stopped listening to what he was saying; you weren't invisible to him.
“Well, from your silence, I guess that's a no," Steve said, disappointed.
“I'm sorry? I didn't hear you say, “ You wanted to hit yourself; you hadn't paid attention to him.
"Doyouwanttogotothemovieswithme?" Steve repeated it more nervously, turning red.
“Is Saturday okay with you?"
“Sure, I'll pick you up at six."
On the day of the date, you stole a kiss from Steve.
Tumblr media
1942
“You want to go to the Stark Expo?" Yeah. Bucky wants us to go on a double date.
You agreed, although it was a little awkward, especially since Bucky's date wouldn't shut up and wouldn't stop repeating how awesome and amazing Barnes was. You were about to shove the bag of popcorn in his mouth, if that would shut him up.
Tumblr media
1945
Steve's time in the war was unbearable; you didn't see each other, although you got a letter from him every week without fail.
All you wanted was for it to be over so you could be with him again.
Until the fateful day came, that morning you woke up with a strange feeling. As soon as you opened the door, you knew what it meant. As soon as you saw that woman standing there, you didn't even hear what she was saying; you knew what had happened.
When the war was over, you and Steve were supposed to get married. It was all set; all he had to do was go home.
If there was any way...
Tumblr media
2023
“Are you sure about this?" Bucky asked Steve.
“I have a promise to keep; I don't even want to imagine how bad Y/N has been having it, “Steve answered. He simply couldn't stop thinking about the same thing; no matter how hard he searched, he couldn't find any information. It wasn't possible that you had vanished; he was sure of what he experienced; however, it wasn't until he made the time trip with the others that he understood everything.
“Say hello to her for me; don't forget your speech on the big day."
“I'm not as much of an idiot as you are."
“You're more."
Tumblr media
1945
You frowned in annoyance. It was the tenth time you had tried to read the recipe, and there was always a different interruption. However, when you opened the door, you dropped the container you were holding.
“S-Steve? “ You feared your senses were deceiving you.
“I promised you I'd come back," Steve said as he picked up the container.
“But... "
“I couldn't let you down, honey." Steve took your hand, leaving the container on the small table next to the door.
“Everything was ready."
“I was the only one missing, wasn't I? I'm here; everything will be all right, I promise."
Something to Navigate By - a Navigator fanmix
[ listen on Spotify! ]
TRACKLIST: skye rocket - Sad Machine // i fight dragons - History Repeating // go! child - I.D. // pendulum - The Island, Pt, I (Dawn) | the queenstons - Just Hesitation (HES3 Edit) // fox stevenson - Dreamland // shirobon - On the Run // she - Nostalgic Vibes // tinlicker - Donderdag // USS - Hydrogenuine // fox stevenson - Radar // stacked like pancakes - Dreamcatcher // bastille - WHAT YOU GONNA DO??? // area 11 - ØCULIST // enter shikari - Redshift // everything everything - Don't Try - [Everything Everything Remix] // metric - Underline the Black // the mountain goats - Younger // enter shikari - Undercover Agents // porter robinson - Mirror // they might be giants - Let's Get This Over With
reasonings behind songs under the cut!
Sad Machine: "and though i know, since you awakened her again, she depends on you, she depends on you! she'll go alone, and never speak of this again, we depend on you, we depend on you [..] is anyone there? anyone else, anyone else, anyone else-" // this was the opening song on my Dominion Viking playlist! :D i will gladly take the opportunities to do musical callbacks.
History Repeating: "so then what to do when we know what's coming? stay and see it through, or start running? [..] over and over, i know i'm not alone here [..] don't say anything, i know where we've been, and i've got a feeling this is history repeating! when this crashes down i won't be around, 'cause i've got a feeling this is history repeating now!" // there's a time loop joke in here, obviously, what with "history repeating" being very literal. Navigator's involvement in all of this is... interesting? he's omniscient, he knows what's happening, but for once this isn't history repeating like it always has-- something has changed, and everyone needs to make a choice on what to do about it.
I.D.: "now everything inside of me is calling out "are you listening?" [..] i've been keeping this thought that if i spend all my time as what i'm not that i would find it in me to tell you to leave, but here you are and you won't [..] it hasn't been the same since you told me your name" // the way Navigator and Sapphire treat each other is. so much. i keep thinking about Nav telling Sapph he hates talking to them and that they won't speak again. theyre a mismatched pair that almost fit together, but not quite, and the more Sapphire spirals the less Navigator wants to do with her.
The Island / Just Hesitation (HES3 Edit): "what are you waiting for? as we go towards the light" // this is a weird one. Just Hesitation isn't on Spotify, so i had to sub in the song it samples from. which still works! but the intention is for it to be Just Hesitation. i wrote a whole ramble about it as a song and why it has Navigator vibes for me. thanks for coming to my ted talk
Dreamland: "does everybody live in a dreamland? is this dreamland all that we know? [..] i'm tired of feeling like i'll never serve a purpose! future killers, smoke and mirrors, yeah just be yourself! [..] searching the universe for something we can do, and living to fight another day! [..] I GOTTA GET OUT OF THIS WASTELAND, 'CAUSE THIS WASTELAND AIN'T HOME!" // i will readily admit that this is a targeted attack. this also is kinda pulling on my theory about where Navigator came from and what happened to him before TSMP.
On the Run: [instrumental] // this is a bop. also something something why are you running / what are you running from, although i guess right now we don't know if Navigator is running from (or to?) anything.
Nostalgic Vibes: "so many places i could be, sense of adventure got me beat, i've got it, you want me [..] mystery surrounds you, my love, don't just walk away! [..] let me recall for a while, you've got to set me free, yeah" // On the Run, Nostalgic Vibes, and Donderdag are in the segment i like to call "no thoughts just vibes". hope this helps.
Donderdag: [instrumental] // the thing with including instrumentals on these is it's really hard for me to explain why. there's no lyrics to point at and i'm not very articulate when it comes to explaining why instrumentals stand out to me. the vibes are there and it's a nice transition between Nostalgic Vibes and Hydrogenuine.
Hydrogenuine: "care to play a game? this experiment has chemically altered my brain! [..] 11 is the number i seem assigned to, inversions of an opposite truth aligns you, directions like the back of your hand will guide you, i am simply here to assist and remind you! i am simply here to assist and remind you!" // this was on the Viking & Ruby playlist for Navigator purposes and i'm bringing it back. the chorus is what really drives this for me and i cannot let it go. we need more Navigator and Ruby interactions please please please please please
Radar: "trouble on a radar, just gonna fly right under!" // this was a contender for a tViking song (before Navigator was even a thing) but got dropped from the playlist early on. i think it's fun to bring it back for Nav considering him being the warning sign and the thing with tViking going under the radar.
Dreamcatcher: "close my eyes and i'm predictable, i'm invincible, for you [..] i'm afraid i'm not enough. I'M NOT ENOUGH! [..] circles, cycles, why do you torture me? dreamcatcher, i'm falling but not asleep!" // shoutouts to Solar for saying the worlds "circles, cycles" in chat during a Sapphire lore scene and this entire song playing in my head at 2x speed.
WHAT YOU GONNA DO??? - "shiny on the surface, rotten on the inside [..] you got control, got my attention! make me tap and scroll, you got control, you got my attention! you got us listening, so what you gonna do, now what you gonna do with it? [..] so who am i, you decide, inside out you read my mind, what you gonna do with it?" // this is a general TSMP song and one that would've made it onto the Viking & Ruby playlist if i'd thought of it in time. the chorus and ending are peak Navigator vibes, though. "so who am i, you decide" is something i'm calling attention to as a fun meta thing, though, seeing as basically everything about Nav is speculation or in response to something.
ØCULIST: "white noise, i'm tied down from the first time i heard it! so, my sister static, hold on my hardened heart! [..] i can't help but can assist, see through you like an oculist, a universal hologram, these crimes will make you hollow, man!" // i love area 11 but trying to get me to explain how any of their songs relate to the blorbo of the hour is a losing battle.
Redshift: "we accelerate, we separate and fragment! we accelerate, through the estate of outer space! we accelerate! it appears that heaven's been abandoned [..] i climbed down from the wall where i sit and search for a source of light other than our dear sun, the lone star [..] a supergiant erupts into a supernova! the ultimate sacrifice, and we are the descendants!" // Aces asked me a while ago if Redshift is a Navigator song and it was on the "maybe" table for a while. then i went through like 5 different Enter Shikari songs for this playlist and it kept being not-quite-right until i pressed play on Redshift and it all clicked into place. hey, Navigator, how does it feel knowing you're the only one that knows about the missing piece? how does it feel subbing in for space himself? how does it feel being created because someone else is gone?
Don't Try - [Everything Everything Remix]: "the clock is ticking, meanwhile your life, your life is wasting [..] i know you mean a long time, saw your mask in the mirror, and you don't want to be here anymore [..] and yeah there's nothing alright, but you're here and you're glowing, so why you wanna keep it all inside? don't try to hide it!" // this is kinda where my characterization of Navigator starts to settle in, i think. he's tired but obligated to be who he is. plus, y'know, he's having to literally hide his existence, but that's going to fall apart no matter how hard he tries. note: the Spotify lyrics are wrong. there's two versions of this song with completely different lyrics.
Underline the Black: "how can i forget, what reason is left? when i looked at myself, i was somebody else [..] i just look, don't feel like myself at all, i'm just waiting for the axe to fall, and they're still waiting for their lives to start" // another case of "taking some lyrics literally" for the fun of it. tViking being an anomaly and also being the one Navigator is hijacking is a fun combination. there's also whatever Navigator might've been before, and what he's become to fill his role. is there still a way out or is this his life forever? everything's still at the beginning, but he's seen this play out so many times before.
Younger: "lie in wait by the gleaming city gate, try not to lose sight of the mission! [..] moment close at hand, half of you will never understand, and it doesn't really matter [..] it never hurts to give thanks to the navigator, even when he's spitting out random numbers." // another carry-over from the Viking and Ruby playlist, suggested by Charm! Naaaav what is your deaaaaaal
Undercover Agents: "i am currently under construction, thank you for your patience. we veneer, unveil, we present a cold disguise, we're all undercover agents [..] and i said if you want to go far and wide now, we've got to go together! [..] yeah i'm howling, can you hear us now? i was seeking another life and the moon was so bright! [..] it's only in our heads." // using this song in particular is weird for me because it's so heavily ingrained as another character. but that other character has some thematic overlap with Navigator, so it makes sense that the song clicks too.
Mirror: "yeah, do your worst all at once! i know what you want from me, from me, i know what you're thinking! [..] i'm tired of your questioning, you're cut down too easily, i don't know what's good for me, i can't decide [..] you're nearly there, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, it will all be okay in the end" // more Navigator and Sapphire struggling with each other. the ending is kind of their justifications to themselves: they need to keep going because there has to be a light at the end of this somewhere. they can both be free somehow. in the meantime, though, they're going to fight and they're going to tear each other down as much as they build each other up. "you and i are not going to talk again." "i missed talking to you."
Let's Get This Over With: "even when you're out of work, you still have a job to do! even when you don't know what it is, your job knows what it is. what it is, is it's coming to get you, i'm talking to myself even when i'm saying "you" [..] after all the spelling mistakes, after all the groping in the dark, can this page of strange gibberish get a final punctuation mark? [..] everybody knows how this goes, so let's get over it and let's get this over with! hurry up, and let's get this over with! you don't have to go home but you can't stay here!" // GESTURES. NAVIGATOR. BOTTOM TEXT.
Engagement Rings
Another day, another prompt. Even though I don't post daily anymore. Thank you so much for yet another ronance prompt for me to write. In this episode of 'whatever people want me to write' Nancy and Robin show off their engagement rings.
You can read my old prompts or send me new ones.
Nancy took a last glance at the diamond ring around her left ring finger before zipping up her bag.
“Robin! I’m heading out!” she yelled toward the bedroom where she knew Robin was getting ready for her own day.
For once Nancy wasn’t leaving to head to the office. Instead, she would have breakfast with El. It was something Nancy had been looking forward to since long before the engagement. Before Robin had stumbled her way through the question. Before Nancy had felt the yes on the tip of her tongue, waiting to slip out. But now, she had a diamond ring to show off and today’s breakfast seemed even more exciting.
“Alright, I’ll see you later. Have fun!” Robin shouted back.
“You too!”
She could vaguely hear Robin mumble something before she stepped out of the apartment. It was only a five minute walk from her home to the diner. El was already waiting in a corner booth. The girl jumped up and waved when she saw Nancy enter. Nancy waved back with her left hand. Out of the corner of her eye she could see the silver band of the ring. Her smile widened as she walked up to the booth.
“Hi, how are you?” Nancy greeted and hugged her friend tightly.
“Hi!” El hugged back just as tight, one of her hands stroking Nancy’s head. “Oh, I’m fine. How are you?”
“I’m great.”
They both sat down. Nancy unconsciously placed her hands on the tabletop. She wasn’t trying to show off the ring, but it didn’t take long for El to notice the new addition.
“What is that?” El grabbed Nancy’s left hand, carefully holding it in her own. “It’s beautiful.”
“It’s— Robin asked me to marry her.”
“No?” El’s eyes widened. “That is incredible. Oh, that is so exciting. How did she propose? Was it romantic? Tell me everything.”
“Okay, so, she cooked this delicious dinner and she had put up candles and she had burned both of her hands. She allowed me to complain about work for at least an hour. She just sat there with this cute but mischievous smile on her face and she nodded to indicate she was listening. And then she got down on one knee and just asked me. It was everything I wanted it to be.”
---
Robin twirled the new ring around her finger. Her left ring finger. Nancy had insisted on buying her the thin silver band with the small sapphire stone. It stood out between her other rings. It ought to, because this one meant the most of all. This one ring meant the promise of a lifetime with the love of her life. Nancy Wheeler had promised to marry her. If someone had told the sophomore Robin that prissy, princess Nancy Wheeler would marry her, she’d have asked if they had just hit their head.
But now she stood in their apartment, twirling her own engagement ring around. It felt like her whole body was buzzing with excitement every single time she saw the blue stone shine in the light.
“Robin, are you ready?” Steve asked from the other side of the door.
“Yeah, I’m coming.”
She rushed out, greeting her best friend in the hallway and rushing down the three flights of stairs that would lead to Steve’s car.
“So, Dustin has been talking my ear off about joining him and the kids for a D&D night and I told him no, but he just won’t hear it. So, he might try to convince you today, just tell him you’re busy or something.”
“Okay.” Robin twirled her ring again.
Steve was tapping his fingers on the steering wheel as he drove. Robin’s attention was drawn to his hands. For the first time Robin wished she had a driver’s license. Maybe then Steve would comment on the ring.
He parked the car in front of his own apartment complex. Dustin and Lucas were already waiting at the front door.
“Robin! Robin! You gotta hear about this new campaign we’re doing…”
---
“Robin?” Nancy pressed the phone tightly against her ear. “I was wondering if you wanted me to pick you up on the way home.”
“Uhm, yeah. I just—” Robin sighed loudly into the phone.
“What’s wrong?”
“It’s stupid.”
“Robin.”
“I really wanted them to comment on the ring. It’s gorgeous, Nance, and I want my friends to see it. I don’t know, I guess I just wanted to talk about it. This is so special, and— I don’t know, it’s stupid.”
“It’s not stupid.” Nancy looked at her own ring. She thought of how exhilarating it had felt to tell El.  Her eyes landed on the table and on El staring at the exit. “I’ll be there in a few, alright?”
---
“I’ll get it.” Dustin jumped up from his spot on the couch and ran to the door. Robin heard him greet the guests. “Come in, come in.”
She looked up, expecting to see her girlfriend walk over to her. But in front of her fiancée walked El with a bright smile.
“Hi, Robin. How are you doing?” El sat down next to Robin.
“I’m great, how are you?”
“Oh, I’m fine.” El dropped her gaze towards Robin’s hands, almost deliberately. “Oh! Is that a new ring?”
“Uhm, yeah, it is actually.”
“Where did you get it? It’s so beautiful.”
Robin smiled brightly. “Nancy, actually got it for me.”
“That is so sweet. Was there a special occasion?” The soft smile on El’s face could only mean she was hiding something, but Robin was so delighted with the attention.
“Actually, yes. I asked her to marry me and after she said yes, she insisted on getting me my own engagement ring. Isn’t that adorable?”
“That is the cutest.”
“Wait, you got engaged?” Steve asked, dropping his magazine.
“You didn’t notice the ring, Steve?” Nancy interjected.
“I—”
“I’m slightly offended. I go out of my way to buy an engagement ring for my fiancée and you don’t even notice.”
“It’s a small ring!”
“Is it?”
“Okay, fine. Robin, will you please tell me everything about your engagement.”
“I’d be delighted to, Steven.” Robin smiled brightly. She quickly mouthed a ‘thank you’ toward Nancy before starting her story.
VERY EXPLICIT DETAILS AND DESCRIPTIONS OF MY FEELINGS AFTER FINISHING "THE EMPTY GRAVE"
I tabbed 5 pages: blue for 347, red for 354, green for 385, orange for 415 and yellow for the very last one
i. Lockwood tells Lucy about the blue sapphire necklace his dad got for his mum as a "symbol of his undying devotion".
I was listening to Radiohead for most of the book, and this scene in particular was very dear to me because "Weird Fishes/ Arpeggi" is almost most definitely Lockwood's song. Like. Everybody leaves when they get the chance to, but Lucy won't. Lucy is back here and he's with him and they're standing side by side and he nearly can't get the words out of his mouth that's gone incredibly dry but somehow he's telling her about the necklace in his palm and his mind is racing while thinking about how pretty it'd look against her supple skin. He's almost about to give it to her, his mouth is open but the words die in his throat because Kipps is leaning over the doorway and telling them that Winkman is here and now he might die and she might never really know about his feelings for her but it's okay, because she'll live. He'll make sure she'll live.
ii. "But, if anything, I had my eye on someone else."
"Good God, you don't mean George?"
"You must know there are other possibilities in this world."
Sweet, darling girl Holly and her unrecruited wlw crush. Sweet, darling Holly who was squealing on the inside whenever she caught a glance of Lucy, her glowing skin and twinkling eyes and bright hair. Sweet, darling girl Holly who couldn't help the mean words that sometimes spilled from her lips because God forbid anyone realised what actually might hide under those longing glances.
iii. Lucy and her pet Skully but Skully is being TAKEN AWAY and they're having an angsty goodbye.
I'm pretty sure I actually cried during this scene. As much as she hates to admit it, she's so fond of Skull and his company and she's so used to his vile, unannounced jokes and comments that when he's being taken away from her, her heart literally stops, even though she isn't in the living world anymore. We only realise what we have until we've lost it, and this quote fits here perfectly. Sure, she hates him and his comments are unneeded and he never helps her, but they can't just take him away, can they?
iv. "Marissa came by?" Lockwood asked. "Was she alone?"
"Hey, Lucy asks the questions around here," the youth said. "You can't just barge in and take over like you're the leader or something? Where's your respect?"
Bonus - Skull telling the Clapham Butcher Boy to "find his own human"
I GIGGLED SO LOUD. He's so emotionally dependent on her. Find your own goddamn human, fish face!! That's right!! He's my favourite character. Nothing intellectual to talk about here, it just made me smile really big.
v. She hung the symbol of Lockwood's father's undying devotion to his mother around. Her. Neck. Cause. Locky. Gave. It. To. Her.
CAN YOU HEAR MY SCREAMS AND SOBS? Oh my God, where do I even start? During the entirety of those 5 books, they've always ran and someone's been hunting them down and Penelope was always breathing over their shoulder but not anymore. They'll still take on dangerous jobs and get into little quarrels with Barnes but now Kipps and Flo are also part of their little 35 Portland Row agency. They'll still be in danger every day because that's just what their job requires but it's different because Lucy's got that little gemstone around her neck and it might not mean anything to simple onlookers but all the love and light that's ever been gathered in it is now shining upon her. It's casting a little golden halo around her head and it's all okay because even when death is looking them in the eye, they'll look at each other and nod and everything will be okay.
This is it! Thank you for reading my little rambles. I don't know how I'll ever recover, because 35 Portland Row will eternally be etched to my heart. As my favourite singer once sung, there'll always be a chamber in my heart dedicated to those three and all their little hooligan friends and the shenanigans they got into.
Come and rest// Aemond Targaryen x Lannister!oc.
Tumblr media
Storms are Bryanne's biggest fears, aside from many other things. In the night, Aemond invite her to his chambers, promising to protect her from the storm and many other things.
※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※※
It was night time when Aemond heard the footsteps heading towards his door. He was still awake, with the fireplace still but no candle was lighted. He sited on a chair, cleaning carefully one of his favorite daggers. A storm was happening outside, so he wasn't surprised when she knocked on his door. He smiled a bit when the knocks were much more soft and timid than one would expect it, because she was clearly scared. He opened the door and there she was, Brynne Lannister, the purple lion, or at least thats what they called her. She was wearing a purple night gown, her golden and curly hair lose, contrary to her everyday look, and her eyes meet Aemond's eyes, including the sapphire one. She was surprised by the sudden eye, being the first time she sees it. So she froze there, in the door, no word coming out of her mouth, something quite unusual too.
"Never seen a blue eye in your life, my lady?"asked Aemond.
"I... I have never seen a sapphire that big in my life, my prince" she saved that, like Lannister always saved themselves from situations, just by talking.
"Hm...that sounds right, gold is not as impressive as a good stone" he smirked.
"But it definitely has a bigger reach, hasn't it?" She was clearly gaining confidence by the moment. But she was still at the door, but a smile formed on her lips. Aemond invited her in with a gesture and she entered. "There's not many of this on Casterly Rock..."
"You mean the storms or the sapphire?" He looked at her while she walked around the room, distracting herself from his gaze or the sound of the storm.
"Both" she looked at him.
"And which is the one that scares you?"
"If it was the sapphire then I wouldn't have walked in here, my prince" she have heard about the new eye of the prince, everyone knew about it, but no body has ever seen it, at least not people outside the family, or at least the court thought that. He felt good when Brynne looked at him in the eyes while responding, it felt good to have someone you appreciate feel confortable in your presence, being yourself.
"I'm afraid my room is as close to the skies as yours, lady Brynne" he said while she took a sit next to the chair where Aemond sit a moment ago. "How does this bring you more confort?"
"You know I'm scared of storms" she said.
"Everybody knows that"
"But you are the only one who doesn't laugh at me" she said smiling at him.
"I don't find your fear something funny" he admitted.
She smiled down at the dagger.
They have known each other since Helaena was ten and four, Alicent wanted her only daughter to become much more awake and tuned with her reality, and to be aware of the danger of the Red Keep, also becoming much more lady like with some company as well. When Tyland Lannister mentioned the achievements her youngest daughter had done according to her septa, she asked for her to join the Keep, to accompany her daughter. Tyland felt divided, he loved the idea of having her daughter closer to him but hated the fact that she would be thrown into the game. But he couldn't refuse, its was the Queen's idea and the King only saw it as a beneficial idea. So she came on a boat, that's how Aemond saw her for the first time, along with his siblings. He was too depressed by his recently missing eye to pay too much attention to another silly girl. But he was surprised by the court she dedicated to him, with a very big smile on her face. She also hold her sister's hands and spoke with sweet words to Helaena, who was mostly ignored by the rest of the ladies at court. Every time he would walk into Helaena's room she would be there,listening to her, insects on her hair, hand or shoulder. Helaena was too lost in her explanations to notice the blush on the girls face, as she felt incredibly uncomfortable, but was too kind to say it. Aemond on the other hand, was the one who took the insects away from her and became suddenly interested in their talks, just to get her out of the poor girl. The King used to throw a dinner with the Lords at court every once in a while and in those, Aemond watch as Bryanna sat with Helaena but would pay attention to the talks of his father and the King, becoming aware of many official matters that she would then speak about with Aemond. She was the only competition Aemond had on his academics, often praised by the maester and septas for her knowledge of history and geography, she would know the name of every Lord visitor and their wives and children and incoming wars and confrontations. They all knew that Brianne was one of the most intelligent people in the court. The ability Aemond had with his weapons was the ability Brianne had with attracting people. mornings, she and her father rode around the capital, and the time he heard them speak he would catch on his way of treating her, he was raising a smart girl, or a smart woman, not letting her act in the wildest of her nature. But he loved her and she would speak wonders of him as well. Aemond felt jealous of her relationship with him, but he never let that get into their friendship. Aegon did moslest her, though. He was always saying the most inappropriate things to a lady, sexualizing her non stop. She didn't hold back many times, always with a sassyness response. Must people kept quiet, siding with the prince Aegon, but Aemond supported her publicly and Helaena always laughed. And as they grew up, they became much closer to each other. It was Aemond the one always asking for Bryanne's opinion, dedicating her a rare smile that she longed every moment she wasn't near him. The amount of respect he holded for the girl made her confident and Aemond felt appreciated like a normal person should be, not for achievements or positions, just because he was he. She understood his pain and he understood her pressure for her duties. Many afternoons they said goodbye go Helaena and walked together around the castle. Aemond always walked her to her chamber, she always dragged him by the longest halls, no short cuts. Everytime they crossed paths, both of them could feel lighter, relief in their faces, at least for a few moments in the day. But marriage was never on the talks, as marriage for Aemond was a political reservation and for Brianne was a economic matter.
It was on Briannes ten and five name day and the queen gifted her a feast celebrated for her. Her entire family came to visit, along with many Lords, possible suitors. They gifted her a big amount of jewellery,dresses and perfumes. But Aemond offered her something better, he woke early in the morning, walked to her room and asked her to join him on a flight on Vhagar. She was more scared than excited about it, but she also knew that she was offered to fly on the Queen Visenya's dragon, an offer which many could only dream about. A king gave off his kingdom just to experience what she was freely offered. So Aemond took her to the Dragonspit. She hold into Aemond's chest and put her legs tight into Aemond's legs in such a trusting way that the prince was glad his face was out of her reach, only the Gods would see it. They flew to Tarth.
"The blue of it's water gives them the name of the Sapphire Isle" she said long ago. They watched the beautiful place from the sky, and they came back an hour later, just like he promised his mother. When they came down from the dragon, Brianne felt too shy, but she really wanted to kiss him. But she just said goodbye. Later that night, the feast happened, she walked alone to the room, a purple gown, a very special one gifted by her mother. Tyland toasted in her honor and then, music started. She looked at Aemond, who couldn't put his eyes away from her all night. The girl made a gesture with her head to indicate him to dance. He stood up and asked for a dance, which she accepted with a grin. Everybody looked at them, as the first dance of the night was started with them. Aemond felt the most honored that day, most honoured than ever in his life.
He was remembering this night while sitting with her that stormy night.
"I recall how scared you were when I dragged you to met Vaghar " said Aemond.
"And I recall how tense you were when I dragged you to the dance floor" she laughed.
"I wasn't scared "
"I said tense, not scared" she pointed. "Buy you sure were a great dance partner"
"I wasn't insecure of my skills as a dancer" he said. "I was just surprised you chose me"
"Aemond" she knew exacly why he said that. "Who else would I chose? Aegon?"
"Aegon will inherit the throne"
"Rhaenyra is the heir of the throne, my prince..." she stated, but she was aware of the Greens feeling about that. "A was is coming, isn't it?"
"You can't change the order without a confrontation, Brianne" he said, not looking at her.
"I...I am scared, my prince. Are you scared?" She asked, Aemond kept quiet. "If Rhaenyra wins the war, I'll be her enemy, the Lannisters have sided with the Greens for way too long...she will make me and my family dissappear. But if Aegon is King..." a loud lightning strike on the sky, making her jump in her seat.
"The storm seems to be going to be happening all night. You will do well by sleeping now" sentenced the prince. She stood up, walking away. "No, stay my lady..."
"But then what about you?"
"It won't be the first time I sleep in the sofa, the fire is enough " he opened his bed, offering it to her. "Come, Bryanne. Come and rest".
She accepted, getting into bed alone, covering herself. But she saw Aemond sitting on the fireplace, still awake.
"I can not sleep If I see you there awake " she begged.
"The close your eyes, my lady"
"Aemond, please, come here with me...you'll be warmer".
This was enough for him. He took off his shoes and belt. When he entered the bed, she covered him, making sure he got side of the blanket, and she rested her hand on his chest.
"You gave me a kiss after the dance" said Aemond, trying to distract her from the horrible sounds of lightnings.
"I gave you two kisses, actually" she pointed, smiling at the memory. "One on the cheek" she pointed her finger at his left cheek.
"And the other here" he pointed to the corner of Brianne's mouth.
"Because you walked me to my room...".
They locked eyes for a moment before Aemond spoke again.
"If Rhaenyra wins the war, we will dissappear together. If Aegon is crowned King, I will push his crown on his head so hard that he would be blinded, I will put myself infront of you so he will not find you, I will cut his hand so he never touch you, not even the longest skirts of your dresses. I will cut his nose so he could never smell your hair or your sweetness in your voice. He will never bother you again" he promised. "Marry me, Bry, let me take you as my wife, let me protect you as much as I love you"
Her eyes shined from the tears and even in the night time, Aemond could see the emotional expression in her face. It was now she the one without words.she put their foreheads together and caressing their noses. Then she kisse him, a long and passionate kiss. Aemond let himself melt in her embrace and they kissed all night, a storm striking outside, but it stopped bothering them, as they slept together all night, Aemond with his face in her neck, and Bryanne smelling his silver hair.
could you write with aemond where you (a highborn) and aemond have been together in secret for a long time and he finally ask his mother (who adores you) to make you his betrothed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your relationship with Aemond would be a secret for a short time I would say, for the simple fact that the one-eyed prince always wanted to make his engagement official, he was tired of sneaking around your room, making you his, but at the same time not bragging about your hickeys on his body, or having to listen to some excuse from you for your thigh bruise, you met several times in your secret place the library only in the evening, only Aemond knows how much time he spent, how many books he was forced to read and memorize, but when he met you, his time spent in the large hall was enjoyed with kisses, sweet readings and you two clinging to each other, but today he simply could not concentrate. ..
- I want to marry you.
You looked at him, not really surprised, but that little tightness in your stomach already started to grow, it's not that you didn't want to marry Aemond, you just... I didn't know if he was completely in love with you, you know he was deep inside, but still, men get tired of their wives quickly, and she didn't want that, she didn't deserve that, without saying anything she put her head on her beloved's chest, listening to his heart, but Aemond didn't take this answer very well, you either ignored it and pretended nothing happened, or you gave some excuse that you will talk to your father... It wasn't fair to him, you knew.
- Because you don't want to marry me, you think I can't offer you great things, because I know you haven't been talking to your father about it.
He was always straight with you, and always asked for the same reciprocity, so lying was not an option, you let out a loud sigh, you couldn't just deny it, or run away, not if you still wanted Aemond, and you knew that what he is giving you now is a chance, the chance to be true to him, as you always were and as you promised to always be to him, he didn't care if you lied to others, but not to him.
- I'm just afraid, I've seen many marriages around me most of them deteriorate, including my parents', I don't want to be like them, I don't want to get married and then be unhappy or make you unhappy.
Aemond, took off his eye patch, leaving his blue sapphire showing, he took your face, and made your gazes face each other, your eyes were full of tears, you didn't want to fear what you have, it's totally stupid and you could see it clearly now, the way Aemond approached, and kissed the traces of tears on your face, and gave one last kiss on your forehead, you sighed with happiness, it was so good, to see and feel this side of Aemond, that he reserves only and totally the woman of his life, you felt so foolish, you loved that man so much, but you were blinded by your own insecurity.
- I would never lie to you, and if I am with you, it is because I feel that I would never be unhappy, because you are the reason for all my happiness.
You shared a kiss that surely wouldn't be your last, making plans for your wedding, and how you would tell your families. The next day everyone pretended to be obviously in shock with all that news, her father was afraid to accept the proposal of a marriage with Aemond, he knew that the Targaryen was not the sanest of ideas, and we have especially for the life of his daughter, but Aemond, managed to convince him that he only wanted her well, and what can we say he could be very persuasive, convincing his parents was shockingly easy, and look what a good thing he didn't have to threaten anyone, not that he threatened his beloved father, far from it, Alicent loved you, and the king always thought that you were a sweet woman, and that you could control the animalistic and unpredictable impulses of his middle son.
"Good Evening, Gentlemen! Please take a seat, we reserved this just for you guys!"
the waiter led the 3 Guys into the VIP seats and gave them their usual orders.
sanzu, ran, and rindou would always just talk bout ladies they wanted to fuck. or bout them planning how to (get Koko's credit card) get Mikey's attention and beg him to stop giving them assignments due so early.
'' is manifesting real? I need to get someone killed by Thursday"
the pink-haired man said getting really curios about that question
"We need to try, boss isn't giving us extensions." the older haitani said
a few minutes later they noticed rindou, not listening to their conversation and looking at a girl, dancing in the midst of the crowds.
"Someone got my baby's attention, huh."
"must be a lucky girl"
the two exclaimed, then the song "beauty and a beat" started.
the younger haitani smiled, so wide. for the first fucking time!
"lemme see the girl, rin! she's makin' you smile like crazy"
"there. see her?"
"oooh fuck, she is one of a kind"
"she is. I saw her in the cafeteria downtown once, twice? she's kind, sweet, n' everything. really"
"then go talk to her." his brother said wiht a wide smile, first time seeing his brother go crazy about a girl.
really changes him, so much.
rindou agreed and stood up, since he also wanted to get the girl's attention.
"hey, i see you here often"
"oh, but i've been here once. just tonight, sir."
"oh must have been someone else, but you look really pretty, iv'e been talking about you eyeing you. not in a creepy way."
"oh okay"
"want some drinks?"
Matt Casey- Home Pt2
Tumblr media
"I swear I put it in here. I can't find it" Brett says looking through her bag while I'm doing my makeup
"What if Kelly comes in here?" Stella says looking at me
"He won't and anyway that's just a stupid tradition from arranged marriages. Was just to make sure the groom and bride don't see each other before the wedding and decide to run away to avoid the whole thing" I reply finishing up
"I'm not tempting fate in anyway. It's a shock this wedding is even happening"
"Got it" Sylvie pulls out a blue garter
"Oh no that's hideous"
"It's the only one they had"
"Oh no" Stella starts to freak out a little
"Ok breath. You need something blue? Here" I take off my sapphire necklace that Matt bought for me during our first anniversary
"I'm still worried about Kelly seeing the dress"
"Ok" I walk over to the door and open it "Matt? Babe? Tell Kelly if he comes in here I'll kill him"
"Severide ya here that? YN will kill you if you go in that room"
"Got it" Kelly shouts back
"Ok. Now let's get you dressed"
"Hi we're here to check in for the Kidd- Severide wedding" Matt tells the wedding venue owner
"Yeah so I tried to call her but her voicemail was full"
"Well they're here now so let's go. Chop chop these two will run away if they don't get married right now"
"Well, the Miliniac wedding is back on and I still have his deposit, so I gotta let him in. We'll get you guys in here next month"
"Oh no they need to get married now" I say
"Hey buddy listen um they hurry up and get it done, cos they got serious commitment issues, so how about I offer you a hundred bucks?" Herrmann tries to to bribe
"No sorry"
"This is a disaster"
"What now?" Cruz sighs
"We go back to the apartment?" Kelly says with Stella stood behind him
"Hey I'll be back in a second" Matt kisses my cheek and walks off towards a boat
"So YN you and Matt are doing well"
"Yeah" I reply to Gabby clearing my throat feeling very uncomfortable
"Look I don't want things to be awkward. Matt and I divorced, I don't want him back, but I do want my friend back"
"Gabby..."
"I know it's kinda weird and this is Kidd and Severides day, but can we talk later?"
"Ok"
"I got a boat" I hear my boyfriend say. I leave Gabby and walk over to Matt and Kelly "right there. The tour boat"
"You sure everyone can fit on that?" Kelly asks
"They only have two people signed up for the tour, so Captain Herrera said we could buy it out. Even better, he's a ship captain, so he can marry you!" Matt saves the day
Once everyone's on the boat Matt and I sit next to each other
"You ok?"
"Yeah. Not like I get sea sick or anything"
"Just breathe through it" I give Matt a nod and take a deep breath just as Stella walks down the aisle with Boden
"Good afternoon, everybody. Usually, about this time, - I'm pointing out the width of Mather Tower. Instead, the fates aligned and here we are on this ship surrounded by the magnificent city of Chicago to celebrate the union of Kelly and Stella" the captain of the ship says. I lean my head on Matts shoulder "And I understand
this one's been a long time comin so let's get right to it, what do ya say?" This makes us all chuckle. Kelly and Stella say their vows which make me cry. They have their kiss and they are now man and wife
"Wanna get married?" Matt says leaning in my ear and we clap the newlyweds
"What?" I frown looking at my boyfriend confused. Matt stands up pulling me up with him
"I asked Severide and Kidd if this was ok to do" Matt gets down on one knee, I look at the newly weds who just smile at me "YN I love you more than you could ever know. I've been planning on asking you to marry me for a while and Severide gave me the idea to ask you today, said I wouldn't do it else. So YN will you marry me" I wipe the tears that have fallen
"Of course" I yell. Matt places the beautiful ring on my finger
"What do you say? Up for another wedding?" Matt asks the captain who smiles
"Why not"
"What right now?" I ask wide eyed
"YN I don't care about the big white wedding. I just want you to be my wife and your finally home. I don't want to wast anymore time"
"We don't even have rings Matt"
"Doesn't matter. I'll buy some tomorrow"
"Here use ours for now" Kelly and Stella take there's off making me chuckle
"Ok" Matt takes my hand, since we don't have our own vows we just repeat what the captain says. We say our I do's, kiss and now we're married "I was a fiancé for .5 seconds"
"And now your my wife"
We end up parting on the boat till it's late. I can't believe I'm married now. While Kelly and Stella leave for their honeymoon Matt and I head home, put the boys to bed and head to bed ourselves
"I love you YN. Promise we will have our honeymoon soon"
"Can we go to Italy?"
"Done"
"I love you to. Was the easiest yes I've ever made" I yawn cuddled up into Matt.
