Most of you know how I ship Liu Kang with Sonya Blade, at this point.
I also mentioned in the past how it doesn't matter which version or timeline it is, whether it'd be Midway, NRS, Legends, 2021, or even 1995.
Here is a collage by me showing exactly just that.
Of course, some of you know that Cameron Diaz was the original frontrunner to play Sonya in MK95, but dropped out because she broke her wrist during martial arts training.
And that's how Bridgette Wilson was cast in the role, only to be replaced by Sandra Hess for the sequel.
While some have debated on whether or not Cameron would have worked as Sonya, I do feel she definitely could have worked with the right material and training.
With that being said, Bridgette and Sandra did fine with what they were given.
It doesn't matter who would have been playing Sonya, I still would have shipped her with Liu Kang, regardless.
I know most people prefer Liu Kang with Kitana, and Sonya with Johnny Cage.
I do like Liutana (other than the Legends version), but I am more mixed on CageBlade, mostly down to me not liking later depictions of Cage (ex.: the Legends films again). The 1995 version of CageBlade can stay though because Linden Ashby rocks.
Even so, I still like the idea of Robin Shou's Liu Kang with Sonya, whether it'd be Bridgette, Sandra or even Cameron (as it was going to be).
I definitely have done fan art and collages of Robin with all three of them in the past, and it definitely won't stop.
I truly feel that Liu Kang deserves love, whether it's from Sonya, Kitana, or even someone from another franchise (ex.: Orchid from Killer Instinct).
That's all for now.

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (1997)
Tumblr media
While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...
If somebody told me they liked 1995's Mortal Kombat, or even that they’d consider it the best video game turned movie, I’d understand. I don't consider it "good" but the film has charm and, for what it’s worth, captures the spirit of the game. The 1997 sequel Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is another story. Mind-bendingly, inhumanely bad, it's also shockingly dull.
Tumblr media
As previewed at the end of the first film, the evil Shao Kahn (Brian Thompson) has set his sights on Earth, despite his defeat at the hands of Princess Kitana (Talisa Soto), Liu Kang (Robin Shou), Johnny Cage and Raiden (James Remar). After resurrecting Kitana’s long-deceased mother, Queen Sindel (Musetta Vander) and unleashing warriors who make quick work of Earth’s heroes, it appears as though our world is doomed.
If you thought the special effects in the original picture were dated, you've seen nothing yet. Several characters in this film transform into beasts so unconvincing a Playstation 1 would laugh them off the screen. Not only do they make you look back fondly at the Hell sequence from Spawn, we’re talking about long, sustained shots that vaporize your suspension of disbelief and grind away at your will to live. Even when special effects aren’t used, the picture isn’t convincing. The fight choreography is awful and the performances from the actors embarrassing.
Speaking of the actors, you’ll notice there have been some changes in the lineup. Only two of the leads reprise their roles. Barring Christopher Lambert as Raiden, none of them are big losses but it's just another tactic the film is using to disappoint the fans. Annihilation is a terrible sequel and proves it instantly when it kills off Johnny Cage at the first opportunity. From there, it’s a rehash of the first picture as the Earthrealm warriors have to split up and go on individual quests, fighting random opponents every few minutes in an attempt to prevent the audience from dozing off. The characters are so thin and the plot so basic it would be a herculean task to care about any of it, even for those who are familiar with the game franchise.
Mortal Kombat: Annihilation is a bore. A mindless, unambitious cash grab that won’t even please those who were eager to see a follow-up to the first picture. You can have a few laughs at its expense, particularly when computer graphics are utilized to create otherworldly monsters, but those come in very late in the game. I can’t imagine anyone watching this sequel and enjoying it. (On Blu-ray, June 29, 2018)

Romanov relatives Margarita of Greece and Gottfried of Hohenlohe-Langenburg.
Margarita was a granddaughter of Olga Konstantinovna and Victoria of Hesse, making her the grand-niece of Elizaveta Feodorovna and Alexandra Feodorovna. There are photos of her and her second sister, Theodora, with OTMAA. She was also the eldest sister of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Gottfried was the grandson of Maria Alexandrovna through his mother Alexandra "Sandra" of Edinburgh/Coburg.

Early live action adaptations of Marvel Super villains
So we all know about the big and small screen marvel villains:Your Tom Hiddleston as Lokis ,your Ian Mckellens as Magnetos, your Willem Dafoe Green Goblins....I wanted to see who were the earliest Marvel villains adapted into live action .
Some of these I have seen some I havent .
Rule-
1.Live action villains only
2.Cutoff is 1999,only 20th century baddies here
3.Only villains from the comics ....Though I do have two honurable mentions
Jessica Walter as Morgan Le Fey-Doctor Strange (Still havent seen this but yeah turns out she is the first live action version of a marvel super villain)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
John Rhyse Davies as Kingpin -TRial of the Incredible Hulk (A good Kingpin ,goes more for the mastermind side but lacking the imposingness of later versions. Not my favorite Kingpin but John Rhyse Davis is a magnificent actor )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Scott Paulin as Red Skull -Captain America (SCott Paulin is great here ,he is a menacing presence and I love his initial design.....Let down by the "Plastic surgery look" he has the ret of the film, also cause the film is bad )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Joseph Culp as Doctor Doom -Fantastic Four (DEspite the fact his voice is muffled alot so its hard to understand him,I like how faithful the costume ,I dig the grand gesturing and I love how jovial he is ,hes always laughing bout something ,I think he is my fave of the early Marvel movie villains )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sandra Hess as Andrea Von Strucker /VIper(Combined into one character ),and Peter Haworth as Arnim Zola -Nick Fury (Apparently Baron Von Strucker and Wener Von Stucker are in it too but I couldnt find images. Also I've never finished this movie )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Stephen Dorff as DEacon Frost -Blade (DOnt know anything bout his comic counterpart......But I love the movie version of this guy.Love this asshole )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in the "I dont know if this counts "honourable mentions
Brian Thompson as Kabal/Baron Mordo -Doctor Mordrid (SO I have heard from various sources this was either going to be a Doctor Strange movie OR it was inspired by Doctor Strange, either way ,Kabal is a clear stand in for Baron Mordo .Either way film is pretty fun and Brian Thompson is a fun villain )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ian Trigger as the Jeweler/Mole Man-Fantastic Four (This I know for a fact was supposed to be the Mole Man.....But Marvel wouldnt let them use the Mole Man ,so they just called him something else .I do like Ian Triggers performjance, but I feel like they shouldve cut him out OR made him the main villain )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I might do this for 20th century villain DC villains,I dunno this was fun
Do any of you have thoughts on these early Marvel Movie villains?Feel free to share your thoughts

As banned books continue to be more and more of an issue in American education I am forever thinking of my 7th grade English teacher. He was a marxist Jew who kept a framed picture of Marx himself by his desk. He was a Luddite who hated technology and cooked all his meals on a wood-burning stove. He was strange and eccentric and impossible to read. And he’s one of the greatest teachers I’ve ever had, in terms of challenging me and broadening my worldview.
That year, he had us reading The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, The Overcoat by Gogol; and, the one that was always the biggest issue with parents: Night by Elie Wiesel.
There had been an incident the year before where a bunch of parents had made this big stink about him teaching it; insisted it was too “traumatic” for children our age to be reading. Enough of them made a fuss that the administration caved and he had to teach Anne Frank instead (for that class year, at least).
And he was pissed about it, I mean pissed. And I remember empathizing with him at the time, when he told us about it; even though I couldn’t possibly understand where a lot of that anger was coming from. I couldn’t have known how infuriating comments about a book about the Holocaust being too “traumatic” to read must have been for him. Because of course; that was the point. The point was that it was awful, and horrific, and no should be safe from having to understand that. And maybe if you could get that into a bunch of kids’ heads before high school; that’s a big deal. That’s a really big deal.
There are moments from that book that I will never be able to remember without getting nauseous. That are etched into my brain and will be forever. And that’s the point. That is the fucking point.
