Heaven is slowly breaking down and your dad is doing everything he can to prevent it from completely collapsing on itself. After Metatron kicked all the angels out, Michael got out of the cage and took over command. Most of the remaining angels have turned back over to Michael but there have been a handful who want to rebel. He has been tracking every single angel not on his side and getting rid of them.
Michael has one of those angels in Heaven tied up while you’re sitting sideways on your throne with your phone in hand.
“I’m giving you one chance to come clean. All I need are the names of the angels in the rebellion. Do you really want to go down for their mistakes?”
“Michael, please. I don’t know anything. They don’t tell me what they’re doing or who is on their team. I already told you everyone I know.”
“That’s not good enough for me. This is a good teaching moment, Y/N. I’ll show you what happened to angels who don’t deliver.” Michael looks back at you only to see you giggling like a schoolgirl on your phone. “Y/N!”
“What, I’m paying attention,” you say without looking up.
You and Sam Winchester have been dating for a few months and all you want to do is be near him. You’re in the “Honeymoon Phase” of your relationship. If your dad wasn’t such a strict person, you’d be back on Earth with Sam and Dean.
“Y/N!”
“What?” you gasp and finally look at him.
“You need to start paying attention. This is your legacy. This is who you’re meant to be so stop messing around with that Winchester and do what you were made to do.”
“What if I don’t want to?”
Michael glares at you and turns to the angel who thought he was going to get off scot-free. Michael grabs the holy oil and covers the angel with it. The lower-level angel pleads for his life but Michael has already lit the match. The angel screams as he burns alive, and your dad turns to you with a deadly glare.
“You knew what you were supposed to do the second you were created.”
Don’t you know it. He tells you all about your responsibilities every second he gets, and it’s pissing you off. You were created by his grace so you’re half angel, but he took the DNA of other monsters to create the perfect tribrid: vampire, witch, and werewolf. Both your werewolf and vampire genes are dormant so you’re only a half-witch, half-angel right now. If you were to die or kill someone, you’d activate the other parts of you.
You refuse to let that happen.
Michael created you this way since you’re meant to be so powerful that you can create other angels. If you don’t activate those other two parts of you, you can’t create new angels.
“You never let me forget it,” you sigh and sit upright.
“I am trying to make Heaven what it used to be. We are running on limited angels and if they all perish, Heaven will cease to exist.”
“Yeah, and the smart choice is to kill off more angels. I see where you’re coming from.”
“I am weeding out the bad so that only the good remains. What good is this place if we have rouge angels running amok here?”
You get up and put your phone in your back pocket.
“I am not interested in killing angels only to make new ones. I am not a killer. I am a witch who never wanted this. If you can figure out a way for me to make new angels without activating my other sides, I am all for that. I am not going to be your puppet in this sick game you’re playing. I can’t care if you’re my dad. I am not activating my other sides to become a full tribrid. Frankly, you can’t make me. Even without those sides, I’m still more powerful than you. Don’t let your arrogance be the death of you.”
You storm out of the room before he has a chance to say anything back to you. You don’t want to be here anymore. There is only one person who can make you feel better and he is on Earth. As soon as you land there, you immediately find him at some high school he and his brother were at while on a case.
Seeing Sam after all this time makes your heart flutter and your worries dissolve.
“Sam!” you grin.
“Y/N!” You run into his arms and cling to him for longer than necessary. “What are you doing here?”
“My dad pissed me off. I had to come see you.”
“We just got done with a case. We’re about to call it a night and head home tomorrow. I can get a separate room for us if you want to talk.”
“Yeah, I’d like that,” you smile. “Hi, Dean.
“Hey, kid. Don’t wear out Sammy like last time. I kind of need him,” he jokes.
“It’s not like that. Don’t be so crude.”
Dean found a relatively cheap motel to stay the night in but headed to the bar instead of his room. You and Sam got the conjoining room for yourselves, and you sit on the edge of the bed with a tired sigh.
“What’s going on? What did Michael do now?”
“He’s hell-bent on killing any angel who opposes him. Heaven is already struggling with the amount of angels now. He wants to kill off the bad so I can make more for him.”
“Make more? I thought only God could do that.”
“Michael made me with not only his grace but with the DNA of a witch, vampire, and werewolf. If I were to turn full Tribrid, I’d have enough power to create his angels. He wouldn’t need God.”
“What happened up there?” Sam asks and sits next to you.
“He was killing them. He wants me to activate my vampire and werewolf side. I’m not a killer, Sam. I don’t want this. I’ve never wanted this. Michael never cared about me. He only cares about what I can do for him. I don’t want to do this,” you sniffle.
“You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.” Sam pulls you closer so that you can cry against his chest. He doesn’t care if your tears stain his shirt. “He can’t force you to turn.”
“I’m afraid he might be able to. All I ever wanted was to be normal. I never wanted to hurt people,” you cry.
“You won’t. Look, Dean and I are really good at hiding from angels. We’re branded. Michael can’t find us. Stay with us for a while.” You pull away from him to look into his beautiful hazel eyes. “He won’t be able to find you.”
You don’t tell him that he would be able to find you. Michael is relentless. He will do anything to get what he wants, and that includes hurting Sam and Dean. Still, you don’t see the harm in staying with Sam for the night.
Michael is seething with anger over your fight. He doesn’t know how to make you see that you need to do this for the greater good. All he ever wants is to remake Heaven into what it was before. He can’t do that without new angels. You’re the only one besides God who can make new angels, and it’s not like his dad is going to show up anytime soon to help.
The mess of the angel’s death has been cleaned from the room that Michael is pacing in. He doesn’t know how to make you see that turning full Tribrid is a good thing. The door to the throne room opens and Lucifer walks in apprehensively.
“Wow. The entirety of Heaven heard your fight.”
“She’s being a child. She’ll come around.”
“Will she? She was pretty adamant on staying out of this one.”
“We need new angels, Lucifer. Dad’s not winning any ‘Father of the Year’ awards. We can’t rely on him to help us.”
“I agree,” Lucifer shrugs.
“Maybe I’ve been too harsh on her.”
“No, don’t give me that sympathy bullshit. She is the only one who can make new angels, right? Force her to turn. Force her to help.”
“She’d hate me.”
“As if she doesn’t already,” Lucifer scoffs. “The way I see it,  you got two options. Force her to turn and help make new angels or kill off the ones who rebel, leaving only a handful of angels to keep Heaven running. One of them gets you what you want.”
Michael stares at his younger brother in thought. You were created for one purpose and one purpose only. He hates to take away your choice but this is more urgent than your precious free will.
“What do I have to do?” Michael asks and Lucifer grins.
Lucifer tells Michael his diabolical plan which the older brother isn’t too fond of but knows it’s necessary.  Both of them go down to Earth to gather what they need. Lucifer gathers two burly humans who want nothing more than to be angels in Heaven while Michael gets two of his most trusted angels.
“What will you have us do, Lucifer?” one of the humans asks.
Lucifer grips the left shoulder of one of the men and the right shoulder of the second man so that their attention is solely on the archangel.
“Stan, you’re going to let Y/N kill you. You’re going to do whatever it takes until she kills you. Elijah, you’re going to kill Y/N and let her feed on you until you die. Only until your missions are completed, you’ll be allowed in Heaven as my brother’s trusted angels.”
Michael doesn’t tell them that he can’t make them into angels. Only you can do that but that’s neither here nor there at this point.
“I won’t let you down,” Stan says.
“I know you won’t.”
“You two,” Michael says to the two angels, “are going to make sure Sam and Dean aren’t going to be in the way. Do what you have to do to make sure they don’t interfere.”
“Yes, sir,” one of the angels nods.
Michael hates it came to this but if this is the only way you’ll have enough power to help, then so be it.
You gave yourself an extra day to be with Sam and Dean before you have to go back to Heaven and face your dad again. You’re hoping this space would have cleared his head a bit. If you work hard, you might come up with a solution that makes you powerful enough to create new angels without activating your other sides.
Sam and Dean stopped at a bar on the way back to the Bunker to hang out and let off steam before channeling through the last portion of the drive. Sam is teaching you how to play pool against Dean who isn’t going easy on you.
“Come on, Dean, can’t you be a bit more easygoing?” Sam asks.
“No, don’t do that. Let him go as hard as he wants. It’ll hurt more when I beat him,” you smirk.
“You got jokes, huh? Alright, bring it on,” Dean smirks and racks the balls.
People come and go from the bar all night until there aren’t a lot of people left. Whoever is still inside are the stragglers who try to get as much alcohol as they can before being kicked out, and those who have nowhere to go.
You two play as much as you can before the manager announces the bar is closing. You three pack up your things and leave the bar, passing by two men who are watching you.
“I told you, Dean. Don’t be too cocky.”
“Yeah, yeah, it won’t happen next time.”
You’re about halfway to the car when you hear someone behind you make a crude comment about you.
“Nice ass, sweetheart.”
You stop and turn to face them.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. Come home with us. We’re much more fun.”
Sam is about to step in when you put a hand on his shoulder to stop him.
“I got this,” you smile and turn to the men with the same smile. “I think you’re drunk. Turn around, go home, and we’ll forget this ever happened.”
“Now why would I want to do that? Hard to forget someone with an ass like that.”
Sam and Dean are about to step in when two more men show up and grab them. Angels. Your dad must have sent them. Wow, he really doesn’t take no for an answer.
“Okay. I get it. Michael is punking me, right? Testing me to see what I’d do? I’m not doing it. Go home before you get hurt.” You turn to face the angels when Stan grabs your shoulder and yanks you back. You swiftly face Stan and grab his collar in anger. You might be sweet and soft for Sam but you have your dad’s temper. “I said beat it before you get hurt.” You shove Stan off you and turn to the angels with fire in your eyes. “If you knew what was best for you, you’d let go of them.”
Before they have a chance to say anything back, you’re pushed violently to the side. If you didn’t have quick reflexes, you’d be on your ass in seconds. Stan sees the fire in your eyes but doesn’t back down from you.
“What are you going to do about it? A small thing like you is gonna get herself a bruise for talking back like that.”
Okay, now you’re pissed off. You stalk toward him and land a punch to his face, and he goes flying into the side of the nearest car.
“You were saying?”
Stan growls and charges at you, hell-bent on taking complete advantage of you. He’s a much bigger man than you with muscles packed on but he doesn’t have angelic grace running through his veins like you do. You dodge every one of his attempts to hit you, you make sure he doesn’t get a good hit in, all the while you are landing every punch to the side of his face and his stomach.
“I’m warning you now, man, walk away while you still can,” you growl.
“Nah. I’ll have my friends here force your little boyfriend to watch while I take every bit of innocence I know you have swimming in there,” he smirks.
If Michael is behind this, he wants you to get angry but there is something about the disgusting yellow teeth that Stan has that is making you see red. You charge at Stan and slam him into the side of the car as hard as you can, and the sickening crack of his skull is enough to put everyone into silence.
He falls to the ground with blood pooling out of his head, and you stare at him with wide, fearful eyes.
“Let me go!” Sam struggles against the angel.
“No, no, no, no,” you mutter and get on your knees next to Stan. “Don’t be dead. Do not be dead. Please don’t be dead.” Tears are streaming down your face as you check his pulse but it’s clear that Stan is no longer alive. “No! Please wake up!”
Almost immediately, you can feel your body begin changing since your werewolf side is activated. You hunch over Stan’s body and yell out in agonizing pain. It’s not a full moon but your body needs to feel the effects of your werewolf side since your DNA is changing.
“Y/N! Don’t touch her!” Sam cries out.
“You don of a bitch!” Dean struggles.
You look up at Sam with bright yellow eyes that hold so much pain. One little mistake and your entire life is changing. You look back down at the ground and yell out in pain once more, not paying attention to Elijah who is sneaking up on you.
“Y/N! Behind you!”
Sam can barely get the sentence out before Elijah shoves a knife into your back and into your heart. You gasp as the yellow in your eyes dies out. You’re not a vampire but because you had vampire DNA when you were created, you have vampire blood running through your body constantly. If you die with vampire blood in your system, you become one.
Maybe that was the goal all along.
You fall to the ground over Stan’s body. It’s then that the angels let go of Sam and Dean. They’ve fulfilled their mission so they fly out of there as soon as possible so as not to face the Winchester’s wrath. Elijah backs away from your dead body as Sam rushes over to you.
“No, Y/N! What the hell did you do?” Sam yells at Elijah while cradling your body.
“Who the hell are you?” Dean demands to know.
“I’ve fulfilled my mission,” Elijah says in a trance-like state.
“Dean, what do I do? She’s not breathing,” Sam cries and looks up at his older brother with tears in his eyes.
Dean doesn’t know what to do either. He’s never had to deal with something like this.
“We gotta get her to a hospital. They’ll know what to do. They’ll fix her.”
Sam is about to scoop you into his arms when you wake with a gasp. Elijah walks over to the broken glass from the car that Stan was slammed into and grabs a big piece without no one noticing him.
“Y/N!”
You moan out in pain and roll onto the street so that you’re the only thing holding yourself up. Your breathing is heavy, your stomach is in knots, and your head is pounding.
“God, I’m so hungry,” you groan.
“What the hell is going on?” Dean mutters.
“You two gotta get out of here.”
“No, we’re not leaving you,” Sam says.
“Sam, I’m not joking.” Stan’s blood is making your head spin fast and you're not sure you can hold back any longer. “Get the hell out of here.”
“No. I want to help you. Tell me what will make this better.”
“This will.” Elijah cuts his neck with the broken glass and you look at him with deadly eyes. Fresh blood is so much different than dead blood. “Come on, kill me. Kill me so I can die and be with Michael.”
You’re already on your feet but pause when you hear your dad’s name.
“What did you say?”
“My mission is to kill you only to die by your hand. Michael will accept me as an angel in Heaven.”
His mission? Michael sent them? You knew that much, but he really forced these men to trigger your vampire and werewolf side? The smell of blood is too strong for you to resist so you rush over to him and sink your teeth into his neck. By drinking human blood, you have completed your transition into a vampire, thus turning yourself into a full Tribrid.
You drink every last drop Elijah has to give you and he drops to the ground, dead.
“Y/N?” Sam asks carefully and stands up.
You turn to the brothers with blood dripping down your face and tears in your eyes.
“He forced me to turn. He forced me to be this monster after I told him I wanted nothing to do with this. I never wanted to be this.”
You sob loudly at the fact that your own father betrayed your trust like this. Your emotions are heightened so when you get pissed, you’re in a vengeful rage. When you get sad, your heart breaks. You smash your fist into the window of a parked car but it doesn’t work to get the frustrations out of you.
You go around smashing windows and denting every car you see but that doesn’t make you feel any better.
“Whoa! Y/N, calm down! We’re here to help you but you need to calm down,” Dean tries.
“Baby, I know you’re feeling hurt right now but you need to calm down. Use us. Let us help you,” Sam begs.
“I can’t handle this!” You fall to your knees and cry loudly. “He betrayed me. He took everything from me.”
“I know. I know you’re feeling hurt but I’m right here to help you. Don’t give up hope now. We’ll get Michael but you need to calm down first,” Sam says.
He wants to bring you into his arms but he doesn't know how you’re going to react to that. So for now, he’ll keep his distance.
“I don’t want to feel this way. Please make it stop,” you cry.
You’re not sure how vampires can manipulate their feelings. You’re not sure how one turns off their humanity. Is it a choice? Is it a thought? Does your body choose for you? Being a vampire is so overwhelming that it hurts. The betrayal you’re feeling from your own father hurts you like you’ve never hurt before. He knew you didn’t want to be a full Tribrid. All he wants is to use you for his own gain and nothing else.
Your body does what it needs to survive and makes the decision for you.
“Just come with us back to the Bunker. It’ll be okay.”
“Yes. It will be.” You look up at Sam and Dean with your vampire face--veins underneath your eyes, yellow eyes, and both sets of fangs out. “You just won’t be part of it.”
You use your vampire speed and run over to Sam before biting into his neck. You don’t want to kill him so you take enough to render him unconscious. Dean is no match for you but he tries to fight you off. You give him the same treatment and watch as both boys are knocked out on the street.
There is only one place you want to be and it’s not on Earth.
If your dad wanted to turn you into a tribrid so bad, you’re going to show him what a mistake that was. You’re going to make him regret it.
You step foot into Heaven and immediately know something is off. Michael knows you’re here. He knows Stan and Elijah died. He knows the mission is complete. He knows you’re a tribrid. So where the hell is he?
“Yoo hoo, anybody home? Big bad vampire out here,” you announce loudly.
You walk the halls until you come to the throne room. You slam the doors open with your magic and see Michael and Lucifer standing in the middle of the room. Both of them see the blood on your face. Both of them know you’re a full Tribrid now.
“Y/N, I didn’t hear you come in,” Michael says.
“Cut the bullshit, Michael,” you growl and walk closer to them. Lucifer does the smart thing and backs away. Luckily, you’re not here for him… yet. “You did this to me. You sent those men after me and forced me to turn full Tribrid. Now you have to pay the consequences. I told you I didn’t want to be this way but you didn’t listen. You want a loyal army of angels? You won’t live to see the next sunrise.”
Michael puts some distance between the two of you and begins to beg for his life.
“I only did this because I needed you this way. You can help follow through with my plans--our plans.”
“I never wanted this!” you yell at him. “You forced me into someone I never wanted to be!” He hides behind the throne but you use your magic and shatter it to pieces. “There is nowhere on Heaven, Earth, and Hell where you can hide that I won’t find you! You never loved me! You never wanted me! You only wanted what I could do for you!”
“No, that’s not true.”
You walk over to Michale and grip his throat tightly. He claws at your hand but he’s not strong enough to get you off him.
“Guess what, Dad, turning me was a big mistake. You’re going to die and never see how I rip Heaven apart one angel at a time until I am the only one standing. I’ll make new angels but ones that will stand for everything you don’t.”
You see Lucifer disappear at a moment’s notice out of the corner of your eye. He’s going into hiding but you’ll find him eventually and drain the life out of him like you’re going to do with Michael.
Your eyes shine bright white and allow your magic to fully encase Michael. You’re not even sure how to use your powers but you let your emotions do the talking for you. You let go of Michael but he falls to his knees when your magic starts pulling his life force from him. Grey and white smoke comes from his body to your mouth as you breathe in his power.
“Y/N, please don’t do this,” Michael begs. “I never wanted this for you. I’m so sorry.”
“You should have thought of that before you sent them to kill me.”
“It was Lucifer’s idea!”
Huh, looks like he’s dying next.
“Thanks for the tip. You’re still dying anyway.”
When the last bit of smoke leaves Michael’s body, he drops to the ground, dead. Lucifer is going to be one hard person to track, especially since you don’t have control over your powers yet, but he’ll die at the hands of you eventually.
You’re not finished yet. You were serious when you told him you were going to make an army of angels all on your own. You have to get rid of the current selection first, starting with the rebellion and ending with Castiel.
“Any news on where she might be?” Sam asks his brother and Castiel.
The wound on his neck hasn’t fully healed from when you bit him. Castiel offered to heal it for him like he did Dean but Sam wants it there as a reminder. He saw the look in your eyes. He saw how betrayed you felt through the pain in your eyes. He doesn’t know much about vampires or their humanity, but he knows when you’ve flipped the switch.
You're such a loving and caring person that he was shocked to see no hope in your eyes.
“If I had to guess, she’s in Louisiana.”
“If you had to guess?”
“She’s killing angels off one by one starting from the east coast and making her way to the west coast. I hear them over angel radio. She’s leaving no angel alive.”
“She’s lost hope,” Dean says.
“No, she’s hurt. Michael betrayed her trust and turned her into something she never wanted to be. Her emotions are heightened and she’s letting her pain guide her. She knows Michael wanted nothing more than to rebuild Heaven with new angels. She’ll make new angels but it won’t be for Michael,” Sam comes to your defense.
“That still doesn’t excuse her slaughtering all angels.”
“I’m not saying it does. All I’m saying is don’t give up on her. She’s under all that hurt and pain. It’s the only thing keeping her going right now.”
“How are we going to find her? She can kill hundreds without us knowing and already be moving onto the next state,” Dean asks.
Castiel is about to answer when he gets a splitting headache. He puts both hands to his head and leans over the desk as he waits for this to pass. Sam and Dean look at each other in confusion but allow the angel to gather himself before questioning him.
Angel radio statics in his ear before he hears a deadly calm voice.
“Prepare the Winchesters or don’t, but I’m coming for you next, Castiel. You're the only angel left standing, and I won’t let the Old World conflict with the New World. Michael and Lucifer are dead. Tell those Winchesters if they don’t want to end up like you, they won’t get in my way.”
“Cas, you okay?” Dean asks.
“I don’t think we need to find Y/N, she’s gonna find us. She’s coming for me,” Castiel sighs.
“What? What did she say?”
“Michael and Lucifer are dead. I’m the only angel left. She wants to start over. She’s coming for me.”
“We’ll be prepared,” Dean says.
“Dean, you don’t get it. She killed Michael and Lucifer, two of Heaven’s most powerful angels.  How am I to protect myself against her?”
“You have us,” Sam says. “We’ll get through to her. We’re not going to let you die.”
The Bunker is the safest place on Earth against monsters but it’s no match for you. Sam and Dean are waiting with Castiel as you expected but they’re outside instead of inside. Maybe they don’t want you destroying their home but you don’t care. You’ll kill Castiel tonight.
“I hope you know I’ll kill you two to get to him,” you state.
“Then you’re going to have to kill us,” Sam declares.
You see the wound on Sam’s neck from where you bit him and you pause. No, you can’t think about that, or else your entire world will come crumbling down. You raise your hands and Sam and Dean go flying halfway across the field. Castiel begins running at you; you have to give him credit for his bravery.
He slides an angel blade out of his coat sleeve and swings at you when he gets to you, and you put your hand up to block the attack. The angel blade slices your palm and you hiss in pain. You blast Castiel back from you and fling the angle blade out of his hands so he can’t use it on you. You produce your own with your magic and stalk toward him like he’s your prey and you’re a deadly predator.
You raise the angel blade to bring down on him but Sam jumps into action before you can.
“No!”
Sam runs to you and fits himself between you and Castiel so that if you were to bring the blade down, it’d strike Sam instead.
“No, Sammy! Don’t do that!” Dean groans.
“Don’t do it, Y/N,” Sam begs. “I know you’re still in there. Where is the woman I love?”
“Get out of my way, Sam, or I will kill you.”
“Then you’re going to have to kill me because I am not moving. This isn’t who you are.” You have a better view of Sam’s neck wound and remember the moment you bit him. You’d never do anything to hurt him. Tears line your eyes and Sam realizes that you didn't turn your humanity off. You’re acting out of hurt and betrayal because you don’t know how to yet control your emotions. “Y/N, look at who you’re about to kill. It’s Cas. He’s family.”
“God, I can’t do this,” you sob and drop the angel blade. “Sam, it hurts. Please make it stop.” Sam immediately brings you into his arms and you collapse onto the ground in a fit of tears. “I can’t do this.”
“You’re not alone, Y/N. I will help you through this. You’re going to be okay.”
“I don’t want to be this person,” you sob.
“I know. You won’t be this person. You’ll do and be better. You’re not alone.”
Sam doesn’t know how to make you feel better in this moment but he does provide a comforting arm around you. Your sobs are heartbreaking and can be heard for miles around you but you know this is the first step in healing.
And that’s all you want to do. Heal.

Fall was undeniably your most favorite time of the year. You loved everything about it—the changing leaves, the cooler weather, but especially the food: turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole (and Dean's favorite, pie). Brown and yellow leaves passed by as you looked out the back window of the Impala.
“I’m just so excited!” You could hardly contain yourself. It had been far too long since you had made a trip home. While your parents and family understood, they missed you–and you missed them. Life as a hunter was complicated and confusing at times, but you grew up in a family of hunters. Your father considered himself retired now, but he always jumped back in if a job stumbled upon him. “I love Thanksgiving so much.”
Sam flashed you a small smile over his shoulder from the front passenger seat. He looked back to the road before he spoke. “I don’t think I’ve ever had a real Thanksgiving.” He murmured as he watched the passing trees and cow fields.
“Oh, bullshit,” Dean bickered back. He looked from the road to his younger brother, then back again. “We’ve had plenty of Thanksgivings.”
Sam’s brow knitted together as he contemplated. “I don’t know, man. I don’t remember the last time we had an actual Thanksgiving dinner–turkey, stuffing, the whole nine yards.”
“Yeah, well, your memory’s shit,” Dean mumbled under his breath.
You rolled your eyes but leaned forward in the seat to point ahead. “See that road there? Turn right,” you instructed. Dean nodded as he whipped the Impala around the corner. “It’s the first house on the left.”
The excitement from seeing your family again was taking a toll on you, and you felt yourself almost wiggle against the seat as your house came into view. It took a lot of strength to suppress a squeal–you could feel Dean’s judgment without him even looking at you–but kept your hand on the door handle, ready to throw it open as soon as the car lulled to a stop.
“Baby!” Your mother was already halfway down the steps leading off of the front porch. The smile that spread across her lips was one you hadn’t seen in a long time, even on FaceTime. She had always worried so much about you hunting, even though she’d said she understood.
“Mama,” you breathed as she embraced you. The scent of her shampoo and light perfume instantly calmed you in a way no one else could, except maybe Sam.
As you remembered the man you had been with for over a year behind you, you pulled from her grasp and beamed up at him. “Mama, this is Sam Winchester. And that’s his brother, Dean.”
“Sam,” she smiled a smile that reached her eyes. “It’s so good to finally meet you.” She embraced him tightly, just as she had you.
“It’s really nice to meet you, too,” he hugged her back and grinned at you over her shoulder.
“Well, come on, now,” she drawled at Dean. He emitted a chuckle as he made his way around the Impala and gave her a friendly hug.
“Thanks for having us,” Sam called as you pulled your duffel bag from the backseat. Sam took it from you almost instantly, which made your heart feel warm.
“Any friends of my baby are always welcome,” she gleamed. “Come on inside, your daddy is out back with your brother and sister.”
After the boys gathered their own duffel bags, the three of you followed your mother up the steps leading into the house. You hadn’t realized how much you had missed the smell of home until you smelled it: warm cinnamon mixed with the sweet potato casserole your mom had in the oven. It brought a sense of peace over you that you hadn’t felt in a while.
Just as you entered the kitchen, the back door opened and you heard the familiar voice of your younger brother. “Look what the cat dragged in,” he grinned as he approached.
You managed the initial introductions—Sam and Dean seemed to fit in better than you expected. Sam wouldn’t say the words, but you could tell he was nervous. You caught him rub the palms of his hands down his jeans twice to get the stickiness from nervous sweat off. But he didn’t need to be; your family was just really glad to see you, and they had heard such great things about the boys.
“So, you and my daughter, huh?” Your Dad couldn’t help but bring up over the noise of the TV in the background.
“Yes, sir,” Sam said. His voice sounded strong, but you knew better. “I’m sure you weren’t thrilled she decided to date a hunter.” He cleared his throat a little and broke eye contact with your dad, but only for a second.
“You would think that, right?” Your dad chuckled as he looked down at the bottle of beer in his hand. “You’re not completely wrong. When the kids were growin’ up, I would tell their mother they better choose a normal life. School, then marry someone regular, like an accountant, or somethin’,” Sam’s gaze fell again as your dad spoke. “But my wife kindly reminded me that this life was all they knew. And I’d be real lucky to have my kids meet partners that understood this life; people they didn’t have to hide from and could be totally honest with. People that would help keep ‘em safe.” His voice dropped a bit as he said his last sentence. He toyed with the beer bottle in his hand before he made eye contact with Sam once more. The tone of his voice made a bubble of emotion form in the back of your throat.
Sam nodded his head once but made sure he made eye contact with your dad as he said, “I promise you I will do whatever I can to keep her safe.”
Your Dad nodded as he studied Sam’s face. “I can tell you mean that, son.”
Sam excused himself and made his way over to where you had watched inconspicuously from the doorway leading from the dining room to the kitchen. He grinned down at you as he approached, not afraid to snake his arm around your waist slightly. You looked up to him, raising your head in a way that told him you were waiting for a kiss. He obliged, giving you a quick peck.
“That went well,” you murmured softly as he pulled away.
“Yeah,” he chuckled and glanced back where your Dad sat at the table, already enveloped in the pre-game festivities on the TV he could see in the living room. “You have a really great family. I’m surprised you chose to hunt with us instead.” He cocked his head to the side as he searched your face to try to understand why you chose them; or why you chose him.
“Well, not to sound like a typical girl or anything,” you rolled your eyes playfully and heaved a dramatic sigh. “But there’s kinda this guy…”
“Oh, yeah?” Sam grinned as he matched your playful tone. You took a second to bask in the glow of his joy. “Tell me about him.”
“Oh, you’d love him,” you kept up the ruse as you brought one hand up to a button on his flannel, his fingers still splayed across your lower back. “He’s super smart, he went to Stanford, you know? But more than that, he’s kind, he’s loving, and he’s super attractive. Oh! And very, very tall.”
A slight rose color rose to Sam’s cheeks as he broke eye contact for a second, the grin still stretched across his face. “Super tall, huh?”
“Oh yeah, gigantic,” you emphasized the word as you inched closer to his face.
“Alright, alright,” he cut you off with another quick kiss. “I love you, too.” He beamed as he pulled back and met your gaze. This time it was your turn for the heat to reach your cheeks. Only a moment later, you heard your mom’s voice from the kitchen.
“Okay, kids! Dinner’s just about ready,” she called out to the other areas of the house to gather everyone. You all made your way to the kitchen. Sam wasn’t afraid to stand behind you with his arms wrapped loosely around your waist—he knew he had gotten the okay from your father and that he fit right in. You were happy to see Dean talking with your brother; it was probably about hunting, but that was okay. It was at least someone to talk to.
As you all stood around your family’s kitchen, you took a moment to observe. Your Mom laughed at something Dean said, which caused him to break into a smile you hadn’t seen from the man in a very long time. Your Dad conversed with Sam–thankfully not about hunting, but rather pre-law and what his college experience at Stanford was like. Your sister and brother bickered over who would win the big game, and while you wouldn’t voice it, your money was on the Cowboys. As your eyes traveled around the room, you felt Sam’s fingers reach around your hand and give a gentle squeeze. You moved to look back into his hazel gaze and realized your eyes had glassed over while taking it all in.
“Everything okay?” His voice was low as he observed the emotions across your face.
You nodded and brought your fingertips up just under your eyes to wipe away any stray tears. “Everything is perfect.” He leaned to you and gave you a quick peck, making your smile grow and your heart warm even more. And everything was perfect. Because what more could you ask for? You had your family, friends and loved ones all together–you were thankful.

Goodbye, Apple Pie - s.w
Pairing: Sam Winchester x Fem!Reader
Summary: Sam and Y/N aren’t too thrilled when Dean stumbles back into their lives.
Content Warnings: mentions of alcohol, slight swearing. kissing?? Takes place in season one.
“Do we really have to go?”
Despite pouting at his laziness, the corners of Y/N’s mouth tugged upward ever so slightly. “If you really don’t want to go we don't have to, baby.”
He sighed humbly as she straddled his hips, hands flat on his chest. She had almost relieved the feeling of his back against the wall with little support. “You think you’ll be ready in ten?” His answer was expected. Even with the choice he was offered, Sam could never say no to her. Wherever his wife went, he went.
Their mattress was situated on the floor, a slightly uncomfortable situation. She did her best to make it look nice with patterned sheets, but the sight of their duvet touching the floor when the bed was neatly made did irk them both.
“I can be ready in fifteen.” She promised, pressing a chaste, grateful, kiss to his lips before departing back to the bathroom.
They had a bed frame once, with a nice headboard. It probably would’ve lasted them years if Sam's guilt hadn't gotten in the way, and if it wasn’t so easy to sell it for such a hefty number.
A nice sleeping area, most of his savings and skipping some classes to pick up extra shifts at work among other things were worth practically nothing when it came to his girl.
His girl who deserved everything, his girl who should’ve gotten better than a Vegas wedding with only an Elvis impersonator in attendance, his girl who didn’t mind they were absolutely dirt poor.
But, she was also his girl who was tearing up in confusion and glee when he presented her with the prettiest wedding band that matches his.
Sure, a bed frame could’ve given him a few years of good sleep, but Sam knew it was worth it when he saw her face, and he prayed that this piece of jewellery would stick around until he could buy her a bigger one.
By the time they reached, the bar was crowded and the Halloween decorations had made it seem busier, as usual, they’d already been approached by multiple friends in silly costumes.
“I’m so proud of you, and your freakishly good LSAT score.”
He smiled at her. “Have you heard back?”
To him, it was already obvious from her reaction. The way her eyes flickered down to her drink, her grin now sheepish. “It’s your night.”
“So, you did hear back.” There was no escaping. Y/N rummaged through her purse, handing him the torn envelope. “Y/N Winchester,” He murmured the contents of the letter, the sound of their shared last name rolling off his tongue with a slight smirk.
“Congratulations, it is with great pleasure that I offer you admission to the Stanford School of Medicine, class of 2010. Holy shit, you’re going to Stanford Med School.”
Y/N nodded. “I’m going to Stanford Med School.”
A breathy laugh of relief had turned into one of excitement as Sam embraced her, holding her so close to him she lifted off the ground in his grip. “You’re so amazing, you know that?” He told her, settling her down, but she remained firmly in his grasp. “I love you.”
“I love you, too, Sam.”
<3
She could hardly sleep, anyway.
Unusual, she slept like a rock, especially after a night of drinking. Sam had indulged a little more than her, just this once, to celebrate their futures.
The thud had brought her to her feet, slipping on one of Sam’s t-shirts, gently padding along the cold floor. Y/N made sure he was asleep before exiting the bedroom to search for the intruder.
It had gone quiet again. Perhaps she imagined it?
No, she had just gotten a peak at him.
It all happened so slowly as she approached the stranger from behind, standing on the tips of her toes to wrap her arm around his neck. He squirmed, his breathing constricted, she took her chance to pin the man to the floor. “Dean?”
She lifted her arm just a little, allowing him to speak. “What are you doing here?” He wheezed, regaining his breath.
“I live here. What the fuck are you doing here?”
“Y/N?” The light turned on, and Sam’s sleepiness had worn off quickly when he found his wife on the verge of murdering his estranged brother. “Dean, what are you doing here?”
The pair stood, the former moving toward him as he wrapped a protective arm around her. “I was looking for a beer.” The intruder raised his eyebrow slightly at the couple. “I didn’t know you guys were still together.”
“What are you really doing here?”
Dean pursed his lips at the woman, one he was sure he’d never see again after she ran away. It’d been five years since he last saw her, she was just seventeen, handling a gun like a Texas Ranger. “We gotta talk.”
She resisted the urge to roll her eyes, crossing her arms instead. “The phone?”
“If I’d called, would you have picked up?” An awkward silence. “Listen, Y/N, good seeing you again, but we’ve got to discuss some family business.”
Sam interrupted, his arm not moving from its position around her. “She’s family, Dean.”
“What?”
“Your last name is literally on my driver’s license forever.” Y/N deadpanned.
“You’re married?”
“As of last year.”
“You got married at twenty-one? Are you stupid?”
The younger brother scoffed. “Actually, it’s the best decision I’ve made yet, so whatever you want to say, you can say it in front of her.”
It took a second, but Dean nodded. “Dad hasn’t been home in a few days.”
He didn’t seem too bothered by the news. “So, he's working overtime on a Miller-time shift. He'll stumble back sooner or later.”
“Dad's on a hunting trip and he hasn’t been home in a few days. We have to go.”
“Come on, you can’t just break in in, middle of the night, and expect us to hit the road.”
“No, I expected you to hit the road. I didn’t think you’d get hitched to a girl you you’ve been dating since you were sixteen. I need you to help me.”
Y/N groaned. “We get it, Dean, you’re upset we got married. Did you want an invite? Hunters go missing all the time, they’re always fine.”
Dean finally looked her in the eye, and she saw the worry that clouded his features. “Not for this long. Are you going to help me, or not?”
“We’re not. We swore we were done hunting, for good.”
<3
“How much to make you go away?” Dean narrowed his eyes at the cash in her hand. “I’ve only got twenty, but that should get you something.”
His eyebrows raised in slight surprise. “You’re living with twenty dollars in your pocket?”
“Money’s been tight, lately. I’m sure it’s more than what you have, though.”
Nodding in agreement, he got a glimpse of the shiny wedding band on her finger as she leaned against the car. “Whose idea was it? The wedding.”
“His. Vegas, we got blackout drunk after, too. You would’ve enjoyed it.” Y/N sucked in a deep breath. “He wanted you there, Dean, he just didn’t know how to ask.”
Her words didn’t bring much comfort. “Is there anyone else who can help you?”
He wasn’t stupid, he knew what she was insinuating. “Your dad’s not in good shape, last trip got him real bad.”
The features on her didn’t move, her expression was stony. “Where is he?”
“Somewhere in North Carolina, last I checked. Still upset you ran away, I am, too. It would be good to have you on this hunt, like old times.”
“I appreciate that you haven’t asked for much, in the last couple of years. Sam misses you, I know he does, but we’re so happy and safe, I need you to understand that.”
Dean looked down at her, features softening at her teary eyes. “Please, help me, Y/N. Just this once.”
She nodded, blinking. “We have to be back first thing Monday morning. Sam’s got a law school interview. His future is important to him and I, and if you’re a good brother, it’s important to you too.”
<3
“Are you sure you want to go?”
Sam pressed a kiss to her shoulder, his hands sliding down her upper arms as she packed several articles of clothing into a duffle bag. “It’s one trip, that’s it. Just to find dad.”
The girl paused her action. “Do you think he’ll be happy to see us?”
“We didn't run away, babe, we went to college.”
She turned to face him, her hands cradling his face. “One trip.”
“Hey, if anyone’s going to fall back into old habits, it’s you.” He joked, pressing a kiss to the corner of her mouth.
Y/N rolled her eyes with a slight smile, giving in to his affections. “We’ll be back by Monday morning, right?”
“Absolutely.”
Sam leaned down, two fingers under her chin as he joined their lips.
“How long are you going to take?” Dean called, his voice growing suspiciously louder before the door to their bedroom swung open. “Shit, my bad.”
“Jesus, fuck, knock!” She parted from her husband to glare at her brother-in-law.
“You guys really sleep on the floor? And I thought I had it bad.”

Best Kept Secrets|1| Winchester Brothers

Sioux Falls High School
Sam and Ellie's junior year of high school
"You know there are rumors about Ellie going around. About how she is not only easy on the eyes. I mean if the girl wasn’t on the rag I would have had my time with her."
Sam Winchester's jaw flexed in anger, as he pulled his backpack out of his gym locker, some of the football players were talking about Ellie Scott, the girl that should be considered his sister, she was the daughter of his mother's best friend, and also in the care of Bobby Singer, who knew not only his father but Ellie's as well.
They were being raised to be family, they certainly fought like siblings, mostly after Dean stopped by for a visit when John wasn't keeping him busy on hunts.
And Dean spent more time with Ellie than him or vice versa, they fought constantly about it.
Both thought they were entitled to the time with him.
Him more than her because they were actually blood-related, and Ellie thought she was entitled to it because she knew that she was going to be Dean’s at the end of the day.
But maybe it was jealousy, but he couldn't understand why he was so jealous about it.
Was it the way Dean's face lit up when he saw Ellie coming down the stairs or climbing out of the car when he beat them home?
Or was it the quiet sighs, moans, grunts, and groans coming from behind Ellie’s closed bedroom door?
Maybe it was because he wished that he was the one that he was with her, having sex with her, sleeping in the same bed with her. And he knew that he shouldn't feel that way because of her being a family friend.
A girl that he was meant to see as a sister.
And who even said that she thought of him like that too?
"Dude, Sam, you got to tell us, what is the deal between you and Ellie?" One of the guys, Tim, asked, he had been one of the few boys brave enough to ask her out asked. "Nothing, she is just a family friend." He returned, 'Her mom was best friends with mine." Tim glanced at the other two boys and smirked "I mean if I grew up with a girl like that, I would take full advantage of it."
An unfamiliar course of anger went through him, he was used to Dean being the one that would get pissed on Ellie's behalf, but never him. "Don't talk about her like that man." He warned, "She is a sweet girl."
"Yeah, a sweet easy girl.'
"How would you know? From what I heard, she wouldn't let you go all the way?" Sam smirked, he had been the one that had been home when Ellie came storming into the house from her date with Tim, angry. More angry he had ever seen her and that was including when her maternal grandparents dumped her off at Bobby’s house without so much of a goodbye.
And he had heard all about it. “Ha, you have no idea what you are talking about.” Tim laughed nervously. “I don’t? Who do you think she talked to when you dropped her off? Me.” He returned as he hoisted his backpack up on his shoulder. “SAMMY!” Her voice called from the entranceway for the men’s locker room, “C’mon! Bobby is gonna be pissed if we are late, again.” The taller Winchester brother smirked and jerked the bag up one more time, “Coming Elle.”
“Not worth it Tim.” One of the boys said clapping his hand on Tim’s shoulder, ‘I have heard stories about what Sam’s brother Dean,” His older brother went to school with the older Winchester brother before he dropped out of school, “You think Sam’s reaction was bad, Dean’s would have been worst. I am surprised that she even agreed to go out with you in the first place. My brother.” The boy paused when they all heard Ellie’s laughter coming from the entranceway, followed by a “Sam! Put me down!”, “Went to school with Dean, there are two things in the world that he loves more than his car, and that’s his brother and Ellie.”
Tim coughed trying to get rid of the sudden lump of fear that formed in his throat, “Ain’t scared of no one.”
**
“You okay Sam?” Ellie Scott questioned as he pulled open the truck door for her. “Fine.” “Don’t bullshit a bullshitter, what’s wrong?” He huffed as she climbed into the cab and settled into the middle of the bench seat. Her normal spot. “Nothin’,” “Let me guess then.’ She tapped her finger against her chin, “Tim said something about me being easy.’ His hand froze, keys halfway to the ignition. “Yeah, some of the girls were repeating them to me. They all seem to think that not only do I sleep with Dean but with you.” Sam covered up his surprise that she knew quickly, “What did you tell them?” “To shove up their scrawny asses. My relationships outside of school is none of their business. And if anyone is easy, it’s Brooke.”
Brooke was one of the girls on the cheer team that hated Ellie and always went out of her way to bully her. Ellie wasn’t like the rest of them, she was an orphan living with a family friend who owned a scrap yard and was known to be the town weirdo. And even the girl herself was weird, carrying a small pocket knife in her back jeans pocket and a flask of holy water. That wasn’t even going into the fact that she spoke Latin. Who knew Latin now a days?
“You know Dean.’ Sam started, glancing at her. “And Brooke, yeah.” She reached her fingers up and played with the end of her braid, “That’s why Dean hasn’t been back yet, and the verbal spat, I was just in.” “Why didn’t you start with that?” She shrugged her shoulders, “Already have Dean fighting my battles for me and I know you, Sammy, you would have jumped right in with it.” He went to volunteer that he wouldn’t have been but she was right, he would have rushed to her defense like he promised Dean he would. “Honestly, they are just words. They don’t know the truth and I am okay with that.”

The mercenary pt 2
I'm sorry guys my life has been insanely crazy. Got married and divorced and married again lost my job and my house before moving back in with my parents all and all it's been crazy. So enjoy!
(Y/N) P.O.V
I sat in my torn clothes. I sat chained to a heater, blood coming from my nose and bruising on my cheeks. I had the guards make sure it looked real. They both gave me a weird look until I told them it was okay to hit me. Now one was standing guarding the entrance to my room and one was in the hall.
There was a rotting shifter corpse that looked just like me sitting beside me. I heard the hard footsteps against the tile floor down the hall. Hunters were never very quiet. I heard the demons scream and the bodies thud on the floor as the door opened.
Show time.
I winced against the sound and sent myself flying against the heating grate. I saw the two men come towards me and look at the shifter before looking at me.
“you’re okay, we're not going to hurt you,” Sam whispered, undoing my chained wrists.
“What were those things? They h-had black eyes and the-they killed my twin sister… She-she wouldn’t do what they wanted,” I fake sobbed as Sam pulled me up by my wrists.
“It’s okay, you’re safe now. Those were demons. Do you know why they kept you alive?” He asked, looking into my eyes.
I shook my head violently, “They said a guy named Asmodeus was coming to get me soon.”
The two exchanged looks before Sam tightened his hold on my wrist, “That’s not good.”
“W-W-what’s not good? Is he bad?” I stuttered out.
“Listen Sammy we don’t have all day. If Asmodeus wants her she should come with us,” Dean replied holding the demon blade.
“We'll keep you safe,” Sam squeezed my hand as I nodded.
They lead me from the building into their impala. I laid myself down in the backseat and drifted off to sleep.
When I woke up I was cuddled up in a bed with a blanket over me and I heard May yelling in my earbud. I groaned against the shouting and sat up.
“May i’m up, I’m up,” I growled rubbing my eyes and sitting up on the bed.
“Thank god. I thought you were dead,” She replied as I cracked my neck.
“Did you guys find the base?” I asked, looking around, checking for hidden mics and cameras.
“Not exactly, Miroku lost them right outside of Kansas, we’re trying to track you,” She replied.
“Keep me posted,” I replied, rising from the bed.
I made my way from my small room to the hallway. The walls were pure white with fluorescent lights making the walls almost blinding against the bulbs. I could smell bacon a little further down the hall. I followed where my nose was pointing me, it was in the direction of the kitchen.
Upon entering I saw Dean cooking in a skillet, Sam sitting down taking drinks of coffee and another young man sitting next to him with dirty blonde hair. I gulped down the lump in my throat as I felt the power radiating off of him. He was Lucifer 2.0 and he was an adult.
“Good morning!” The nephilim shouted standing up. “I’m Jack.”
“Hi Jack, I’m (Y/N),” I waved, making a worried expression.
“Come sit down (Y/N), eat some food,” Sam smiled and gestured to the seat across from him.
I mumbled a thank you before sitting across from him. These guys were being way too nice to me. Either they caught on to me or they were just beyond naive. Dean set a plate of bacon, eggs, and pancakes in front of me. I cocked my head at the sight before putting a strip of bacon in my mouth. I crunched on the wonderful piece of meat smiling. When I opened my eyes Jack was staring at me with a confused look on his face.
Our eyes met and both flashed a golden hue. I took in a breath freaking out slightly. Jack instantly shot up from his seat and looked down at me.
“You’re just like me!” He shouted, gaining the attention of Sam and Dean.
I shied my glance away from him as the two turned to look at me, “N-No Jack.”
“I saw it, your eyes just flashed like mine," He smiled making his way over to me.
I backed up slightly with all eyes on us, I wasn’t going to look in Jack’s eyes, I couldn’t afford to screw the mission up this much at this point. I could not take a nephilim and the Winchester brothers at the same time. That was just crazy talk.
“Jack leave her alone, she's had a long day,” Sam replied, taking a sip of coffee.
I gulped down the lump in my throat not looking up, Jack did let up though he smiled and placed his hand under my chin.
“She’s just like me, I-I can feel it,” He smiled, pulling my eyes up to meet his.
As soon as our eyes met they flashed a golden hue quickly. I grunted and shoved Jack off of me. Everyone was looking this time and I was completely blown. Maybe I could pull this off in my favor? Maybe they wouldn’t understand? I held my breath as Sam and Dean stared at us.
“That has to be why Asmodeus wants her,” Sam snapped standing next to Jack and I.
“(Y/N/N)! We found the bunker, it’s warded but we think we can get in,” May shouted in my ear.
I made a clicking nose to let her know I knew exactly what she was talking about when Dean opened his mouth.
“Another Nephilim? I guess if he couldn’t get Jack he had to find another one,” Dean shrugged and placed some Bacon in a pan.
I heard the faint rustling of wings behind me and I smiled into a large devilish smile. Jack gave me another confused look as I pressed my fingers to his head and watched him fall to the floor asleep.
“What the--” Sam moved to touch him and I threw him back against the wall.
All eyes were on me again as May walked up beside me.
“Took you long enough,” I smirked at May as she held her gun close to her chest.
“The building was warded, we had to use… unconventional ways to locate you,” She smiled pointing a gun to the Winchesters.
“Well go get them,” I smirked, leaning over to grab Jack.
May bolted forward when she was stopped by an invisible force and launched her gun out of her hands. She lifted the carpet slightly with her foot seeing the little circular beginning of a devil’s trap.
“A Devil’s trap really guys? That’s cheating,” She pouted and stomped her feet.
Sam and Dean exchanged glances before Dean gripped his angel blade and attempted to stab May, Miroku flew right beside him and grabbed his wrist before it made contact. He glared at Dean before throwing him towards Monty. Monty took a step out of the way letting Dean crash into a table. Sam darted at me with the demon blade succsessfully sinking it into my side. I just looked up at him and placed my hand around the handle.
“No you were right I am a nephilim; but I’m a mercenary too,” I smirked, pulling the blade out and letting it drop to the floor.
“And who are you working for again?” Sam rebutted, pulling an angel blade out and stabbing it forward.
I spun around missing the blade slightly ending up in his face, “I never told you who I worked for.”
Sam kicked my feet from under me and I crashed against the tile floor right next to the demon blade. I quickly spun around and scratched slightly on the devil’s trap allowing May to take a step out.
“Ugh thank you,” She snapped, launching herself at Sam.
Sam dodged her as she viciously kept trying to slam the knife into him. A few minutes later an angel came behind Monty and attempted to attack him but missed just by a hair as Monty stepped away. Miroku was by his side in seconds as the angel’s blade hit his.
“Castiel lives,” Miroku laughed, pulling his blade away and backing up. “You’re not part of the deal Castiel. If you walk away you can be spared.”
“Not a chance, Yaerius,” Castiel replied in a gruff tone of voice, launching at him.
I saw Monty freeze for a moment, I bolted up and stood in front of him as Dean came close to us. I used my powers to throw him off course. I looked over and noticed Jack starting to wake up. I cursed under my breath and spun around to meet Monty’s gaze, He stared off just behind me and I decided to think quickly.
I gripped his shoulders tightly and shook him, “Monty, Monty are you there!”
He shook his head slightly to my words, “We need to leave.”
Monty tightened his grip on my arm and looked at me as if we weren’t trying to kill the Winchesters, and steal a child, “The job isn’t done.”
“Fuck the job! Asmodeus is going to turn on us and soon, we can’t be here. Leave the boy and the brothers,” He growled, taking a hold of my arm.
I could tell by looking into his eyes that he was telling the truth. I nodded slightly in response to him. If Asmodeus was going to stab us in the back then there was no job to do; but on the other hand, Winchesters were always a good ally to have.
“Enough!” I screamed, sending the bunker shaking. “We need to leave Asmodeus played us.”
Everyone stood dead in their tracks, “If you make a move Winchesters we will kill you but the job is off, your lives are not at risk.”
“You just tried to kill us!” Dean snapped, wiping blood from his mouth and nose.
“And we can explain but for now we need to go,” I quickly turned on my heel to get caught by Castiel holding an angel blade to my neck.
“You’re not going anywhere,” He hissed in my ear.
“Aweh I don’t get to kill anyone anymore?” May pouted and took a spot next to Monty with Miroku in tow.
“Please let our friend go and we will leave you in peace,” Miroku put his hands up trying to calm him down.
“Answer some questions first,” Dean growled, keeping a gun trained on May. “Who are you working for?”
“We’re mercenaries, blades for hire. We take money from the highest paying bidder and do what they want…” I huffed with the blade placed to my throat. “Asmodeus offered us a really good deal in order to kill you and take the nephilim.”
“What was the deal?” Sam growled out.
“Demons leave us alone, stop hunting us, and three million dollars each,” May smiled, picking some dirt out from under her nails.
“Why are the demons after you?” Sam asked again.
May let out a creepy smile before revealing black eyes, “I’m an abomination.”
The three men let out a large gasp in unison.
“Can you see now why the deal is so good?” I huffed out as the blade got tighter around my neck.
“This is the closest to family we’ve ever gotten, we protect our own,” Miroku snapped as I watched his eyes glow a slight blue and his wings extend behind him.
“Miroku, calm down it’s okay,” I whispered softly as his eyes faded slightly.
“I promised Samandriel I would never let anyone hurt you.”
I paused for a moment as tears threatened to escape my eyes, “Castiel won’t hurt me.”
“You sound so sure having someone with a blade on their neck,” Monty growled holding an angel blade in his hand. “We need to leave now!”
“No one is going anywhere until we have answers alright?!” Dean growled shooting a bullet against the wall next to May.
Miroku grabbed her and shoved her behind his back, extending the angel blade out.
“Okay we got off on the wrong foot, release my neck and let us leave and I will tell you everything you want to know,” I snapped, pulling Castiel’s blade slightly from my neck.
Suddenly my veins started burning and I let out a shattering scream, waking Jack up.
“It’s too late he’s here,” Miroku whispered, bolting over to me and positioning me on his shoulders.
I let out another blood curdling scream as I felt my blood continue to boil in my very vein. There was only one person who could do this. I looked up to see long black robes standing next to Asmodeus who was in all white again.
“Thank you for leading me to the Winchesters, your services are no longer needed,” Asmodeus went to snap when my father gripped his hand.
“If you wish to live you will not hurt my daughter or her silly friends,” He hissed, stepping down the stairs towards me.

High Expectations
Characters: Reader, Dean Winchester, Sam Winchester, Jody Mills
Pairing: Dean Winchester x Reader
Summary: Their meeting was just a lucky coincidence. Everything that happened after that was just their doing.
Warnings: fluff, insecurities, lies
Word count: 1252
A/N: Hello! How are you doing? I hope you had a lovely Christmas day. As promised, I'm here with a new fic. Some of you voted to read this one, so here's your chance. This story happened out of nowhere and it wasn't supposed to go this way, but I had fun while writing it and I'm so happy with what I came up with. I hope you'll like it as much. Enjoy! ❤ All errors are mine.
Tumblr media
It started unconventionally.
It was during one of Jody’s dinners. Y/N was new in town so, of course, Jody had invited her in. The boys were just passing through after one of their hunts.
It was just a coincidence.
Y/N didn’t know anything about the supernatural, and Dean was covered in cuts and bruises.
She was beautiful; he noticed it the moment he saw her, feeling self-conscious for once because his face, well, it looked like a battled filed. That feeling went away pretty quickly the moment Y/N and Sam discovered to be two nerds. Dean definitely couldn’t compete with that, bloody face or not.
They had a lovely dinner, though. A normal one, that was for sure and Dean didn’t mind that one bit, even if that meant watching his little brother flirt with her.
Tumblr media
Y/N was glad she had accepted Jody’s invitation. All the worries of being alone in a new town were forgotten for a moment. It was a nice evening, even though she had to do her best to not glance at Sam’s brother.
What was his name? Oh, right – Dean.
He was beautiful; she noticed it the moment she saw him, bloody face and all. Y/N had felt self-conscious when his eyes had landed on her because she was wearing that damn old shirt her mom had told her to toss away ages ago and, on top of that, she was wearing zero to nothing makeup. She couldn’t look that good that way.
She didn’t let it sting too much when he hadn’t paid too much attention to her through dinner, she was used to it anyway.
So, Y/N ended up talking to Sam, mostly about their shared passion for books. Until it was time for dessert, and Jody went to retrieve coffee and pie. Of course, Y/N went after her, trying to be useful.
“Can I help you with something?” She asked with a smile, with Sam right behind her taking the mugs from Jody.
“Oh, don’t worry about it. You can go call Dean, though. He’s outside on the back porch. He’ll kill us if we start the pie without him.” Jody smiled at her, grabbing the plates and disappearing into the next room.
Y/N glanced at the door that led to the porch, unsure. Taking care of the coffee would have been easier, she thought while walking towards the door. She opened it slowly, sliding through it. Dean was leaning against the railing, scrolling through his phone. He looked up as soon as he heard her footsteps, surprised to see her there. Y/N smiled, waving his hand mid-air, suddenly not sure how to act around him.
“Hey.”
“Hey.” Dean put away his phone, watching her fidgeting with her hands.
“Uh – Jody asked me to tell you there’s pie inside. She made it sound like something really important, so – ” she trailed off, feeling awkward but hoping that he wouldn’t catch on that. Dean smiled, nodding his head.
“Yeah – uh – I’m kinda a pie guy.” He said without even thinking. Y/N smiled at that and Dean could feel his ears getting warmer. Why in heart had he said that? A pie guy – what an idiot, he thought.
“Can’t blame you. It smelt good in there.” She pointed at the kitchen with her head.
“Oh, yeah?” He asked, putting his hands in his pockets, feeling more at ease.
“Yeah. I might have peeked at the filling if you’re interested.” She said, getting a bit closer while her lips curved upwards in a half smile. Dean grinned, making more room for her. They got closer, their bodies leaning toward each other.
“I think I might.”
Y/N pretended to ponder for a bit, before lowering her voice. “Jody wouldn't mind, right?”
“I won't tell if you don’t.” He whispered in a conspirator tone.
“Yeah, alright.” She was easy to convince. So, she got closer then, whispering in his ear their little secret. Dean hummed, her breath making his skin tingle.
“My favorite.” He answered, glancing at her and catching her already looking at him with a smile. They stared at each other for a few minutes, until Dean cleared his throat, forcing himself to look elsewhere. Y/N did the same, feeling her cheeks getting warmer.
“So, what happened to…?” She asked, pointing to his cuts on his face.
Right – Dean thought. He had forgotten about that for a minute, and the reality crushed back on him.
“Bad call on work,” which wasn’t a lie.
“Are you a police offer, too?”
“Firefighter.” It came out of his mouth faster than he could imagine and, yeah, not an entire lie. He wouldn’t have minded it to be a firefighter.
“Really?”
“You sound surprised.”
“No, it’s just –”
“What?” He asked arm crossed at his chest and eyes trailing down to the tips of his shoes, trying not to show her the hurt in his voice.
“My dad was a firefighter too.” She whispered, a sad smile on her face.
“Oh –” Dean looked up at her then, feeling guilty for lying to her but he couldn’t tell her the truth, though.
“You kinda remember me him.” She smiled, before walking towards the door. She was almost inside when she turned around towards him. “Be safe out there, Dean.”
He watched her turn around again, while his mind was still stuck on her words. Dean didn’t know how to answer that, but he knew that, for some reason, he wanted to keep talking with her. So, he tried hard to come up with something smart to say but, of course, he wasn’t Sam.
“I lied.” He said without really thinking. Dean closed his eyes, giving himself an idiot. Y/N stopped in her tracks, eyebrows furrowed in confusion while turning around for the second time. She looked at him with curiosity. She leaned against the door frame with her hands joined together in front of her, studying him and trying to decide what to do next.
“About what?” She asked cautiously.
“About the bruises and the job,” Dean admitted, hoping someone would come to look for them and save him from his misery.
“Did you have a good reason to lie?”
Dean was taken aback by her question but nodded at the same time. “Yeah.”
“Would you lie again if I asked you the same question?”
“Probably.”
“You could have gotten away with it, you know that right?” She asked, amused.
“Yeah, I’m painfully aware.”
“Then why did you confess?”
“I have no fucking idea, usually I’m better than this.”
“I wouldn’t have said.” She joked, earning an annoyed look from Dean. They studied each other for a few seconds until he broke the silence they had fallen into.
“Are you gonna ask again?” He said, wondering why he was torturing himself like that.
“Oh, I will at our next dinner.”
“Our next dinner?” He echoed her with a smirk on his lips.
“Yeah, you didn’t think you were out of the hook for lying to me just because you’re cute, right?”
“Cute, uh?” Dean smirked, taking a few steps towards her while making her roll her eyes. He raised his hand in surrender. “Alright, dinner seems fair.” He agreed, hoping he wouldn’t have to regret it.
“Good, ‘cause I have high expectations for you next lie." She winked at him, before going inside. Dean stayed stuck on the floor, blinking a few times at the closed door before starting to laugh.

I absolutely love Destiel fics that explore how Sam interacts with the two idiots. I love fics where he is just oblivious and then gets so happy when it is blatantly explained to him. I love fics where he ships it and has to be super sly to get Dean and Cas together. I fucking cackle like a maniac at fics tagged 'Sam Winchester needs brain bleach' where he walks in on them. I love his teasing. I love his attempts at chick flick moments. I love when he teams up with Eileen to give them shit. Because as much as I love Dean and Cas, I have a soft spot for Sam and I think he would be super supportive.

Love Story
Pairing: Sam Winchester x Female!Reader
Word Count: ~2.2k
Warnings: minor angst, mostly fluff
Request by @fuiabarcelos: I was thinking of a fluffy one-shot inspired by "Love Story". The reader is a kind and charming girl, but she was raised by Crowley. The reader falls in love with Sam, but Crowley does not approve of this relationship because he is a hunter. Oh, I really like the idea of having a ball, like in the video clip. But I want you to feel free to add whatever details you prefer🥰❤️
Summary: You and Sam have a very secret love. Your dad hates the Winchesters and hates that you're with them all the time. He tries to keep you in Hell but you always manage to find your way back to the youngest Winchester.
Square Filled: “where have you been? Do you know what time it is?” (2023) for @heavenandhellbingo
Author’s Note: any and all comments are appreciated <3

x
You peek into the main throne room where your adoptive dad is. He is sitting on his throne going through paperwork with a demon by his side. Maybe if you go the back way, your dad won’t see you sneaking out… again. It’s his own damn fault that he’s trapping you in Hell. You hate it here. You hate everything about it. You hate demons. You hate the King of Hell. You hate the torture. You want to live life on Earth but your dad doesn’t want you to get mixed up with humans.
After all, you’re only half-human.
There are many doors in and out of Hell, and some of them aren’t even guarded. You’ve been here long enough to know which ones are safe and which ones are heavily guarded. You’re out in record time and already on Earth, loving the feel of the sun on your skin. Everything about Earth is amazing; you’re not sure why people hate it so much. You love the waterfalls, babbling brooks, heavily guarded forests with tall trees, mountains that seem to reach the sky, gentle winds, and sandy beaches.
Why would anyone want to leave here?
There is only one person you came here to see, so you head over to the rendezvous point and wait for him. Ten minutes later, you hear the delicious rumble of the Impala pulling into the parking lot. Sam steps out and you go running into his arms.
“Sam!”
He catches you so you can wrap your legs and arms around his body, and you kiss him like you’ve been wanting to do since your last hook-up. It’s been so long since you’ve gotten to feel his touch and kiss his lips. Your dad likes to keep you locked up in Hell for as long as he can. He doesn’t like you embracing your human side.
“I’ve missed you,” you whisper against his lips. “It’s been hell waiting to see you again.”
“I’m here now. I got us a room.” He sets you back on your feet and guides you to the room he booked for the night. “It’s not luxury but—”
“It’s perfect. Trust me, I’ve lived worse. This is actually an upgrade. Where’s Dean?”
“Back home.”
“He was okay with you taking his precious car?” you grin.
“He might have been drunk when I asked him.” You giggle. “So, how’s Hell?”
“Hell. Crowley doesn’t see that I hate it there. I keep finding new ways to escape no matter how much security he has.”
Your dad doesn’t approve of your relationship with a human, especially a Winchester. Not like you care what he thinks. You are in love with Sam, and it’s because of your human side that you can feel things like love, pain, and happiness. Your biological dad was a demon who came to Earth and fucked a human woman. Crowley was the one who found you and took you under his wing. You’re not sure if he did that to have a daughter or to have a powerful Cambion on his side.
You gained the powers of a demon while still having your human soul in you. You’re very powerful but you don’t like using your powers. You didn’t ask to be born this way so you’re going to do everything you can to hold onto your humanity. Sam is that anchor. Without him, you’ll succumb to the dark side.
It’s rare to have an entire night with Sam so you two spend it talking, catching up, making out, and enjoying each other's company. By the morning, you two hadn’t gotten any sleep. He’ll probably rent this for another night and sleep before going back to Dean, but you have to get back to Hell before Crowley notices you’re gone… if he hasn’t already. He hasn’t sent a fleet of demons after you like last time, so you think you’re in the clear.
“I have to go,” you whisper.
“Stay one more hour.”
“If Crowley knows I’m gone, I’m in big trouble. That might mean trouble for you.”
“Eh, I can handle a few demons he sends my way.”
“Still. I love you but I have to go,” you say and kiss him quickly. “Until next time, my love.”
You use the same way you took when you escaped Hell in hopes your dad didn’t notice you were gone. He tends to leave you alone when you’re in one of your moods, so you made sure to act out right before leaving.
Hell seems quiet when you get back but you don’t let that fool you. Usually, that means your dad is out conducting business but that can also mean he’s set a trap for you knowing you were gone. You sneak past a few of the guards and get to your room but you’re not safe yet. You close the door as quietly as you can but jump when you notice a shadow in the corner of your room.
“Where have you been? Do you know what time it is?” Crowley scolds.
“You’re not my dad,” you roll your eyes and take off your jacket. “Stop acting like one.”
“I am the one who raised you!”
“Only because you had to, not because wanted to. You wanted a soldier on your side but I don’t want to embrace my demonic side! That just pissed you off!”
“Where have you been?” he asks again.
“Does it matter?”
Crowley gets up and walks over to you. He leans in and sniffs the air only to roll his eyes in annoyance.
“You’ve been with Moose.”
“If you knew then why did you ask?”
You push away from him and open the door to let him know that you don’t want him in your room anymore.
“You know I don’t want you seeing him.”
“Tell me why. What has he ever done to you?”
Your dad laughs as if you’re a fucking comedian.
“Squirrel and Moose are a pain in my ass ever since I became the King of Hell!”
“How is that my problem?”
“Watch your tone, young lady,” Crowley glares.
“I am going to bed. Please leave,” you sigh.
Despite still having this conversation, he walks to your door.
“You are not to see that man ever again. He is a hunter who hunts our kind.”
“Your kind. I am not a full demon! I still have my humanity left, and that’s something you’ll never have.”
“You are the child and I am the adult!” You’re not really a child, just much younger than he is. “You are not to see him again. In fact, I’ll have someone assigned to you to make sure you stay here. You have duties here you need to fulfill.”
“I hate you!” you scream and slam the door in his face.
“Kids,” Crowley rolls his eyes.
Crowley kept true to his word and kept you locked in Hell for the next couple of days. Thank God for wireless internet because that’s how you’re able to contact Sam from Hell.
I am going insane here. Crowley wants this perfect demon daughter. I just want to be with you.
Maybe you can. Dean and I are going on a hunt involving a shapeshifter who robs people and takes on their forms to steal whatever they have left. They “kill themselves” as soon as they’re done and move on to the next victim. We tracked him down to a ball of some kind. Want to join us?
Say less. Where is it?
As soon as you got the address from Sam, you concocted your plan of escaping again. This time, you’re going to use your powers to get what you want. If Crowley wants to send his minions after you to keep you here, you’re doing whatever it takes to escape their clutches.
You open your door and the guard standing there turns to face you.
“Are you really going to keep me locked in my room?”
“No. I’m here to escort you to wherever you want to go.”
“How charming. I’d like something to eat. Can I do that alone or do you need to be up my ass for it?” The guard shifts uncomfortably in his spot and you roll your eyes. “Come on.”
You leave your room but quickly turn and place your hand on his head. You pull him into you and use your powers on him. His entire body glows orange as you slowly kill him from the inside. He’s just following the King’s orders but he’s an unnecessary evil. You drag him into your room and throw him on your bed to make it look like you’re sleeping. If Crowley comes in, you might fool him long enough to meet up with Sam.
You don’t have clothes for a ball so you’ll have to get some when you get topside. You use the same way as you did last time to leave Earth and end up in the city that Sam and Dean are in. It’s easy to snag an outfit with your demonic powers in a city that has a bunch of rich people.
Once dressed in a beautiful golden dress with open sleeves, you head to the beautiful mansion that already is flowing with a bunch of people. Sam and Dean are at the front when Sam spots you. He looks so ravishing in his tuxedo but he has metaphorical stars in his eyes.
“Where did you get this?”
“Do you like it?” you grin and spin for him.
“I love it.”
“Damn, Y/N, you know how to clean up for a demon.”
Dean hasn’t yet come around to you dating his brother. He only tolerates it because you’re half-human.
“It’s always nice to see you, Dean.”
“Seriously, you look stunning,” Sam compliments.
“Thank you,” you grin and kiss him. The music is very elegant and slow-moving but the DJ puts on something that you can waltz to. “Let’s dance!”
“Let’s slow it down a bit. Grab a partner and join us on the dancefloor.”
Sam looks at his brother who nods.
“Go dance, Romeo. I’ll keep an eye out for our shifter.”
“Yay! Let’s go.”
You grab Sam’s hand and drag him to the dancefloor where there are other couples. The woman stands on one side of the dancefloor while the men stand across from you. They bow down and the ladies curtsy at the start of the dance, and you step toward Sam. You extend your hand to him and he goes to grab it but stops before he can make contact with your skin. You step in a small circle around him before suddenly switching positions.
You’ve never done the waltz before so you’re letting the music guide you. You’re not entirely sure you know what you’re doing but Sam takes over. He’s done a few of these dances in college so he knows some of what he’s doing. Meanwhile, Dean is scouting the area for the shapeshifter, content with doing this by himself. A shifter is nothing and he doesn't really need his brother.
At the end of the dance, you pull Sam close and kiss him lovingly. You pull away when you feel a shift in the air, and you look to the right to see demons standing at the entrance of the mansion. Shit, they found you. Crowley found you. If you split from Sam now, they’ll leave him alone and go after you. They won’t dare go after a Winchester. That’s like going into a gunfight with a knife.
“Meet me by the gazebo outside,” you whisper to him.
You’re gone before Sam has a chance to question you. You leave the room before the demons catch you. Maybe you can make it out of here without them knowing. However, you can’t leave without saying goodbye to Sam. You make it to the gazebo outside and wait for Sam to come. The gazebo is fitted with golden lights that make it look like it was torn right out of a fantasy book.
“Hey, what are we doing out here?” Sam whispers from behind you.
“Demons are here. They haven’t seen me yet but that means Crowley knows I’m gone. I killed the guard outside my room.”
“You’re quite the troublemaker, aren’t you?” Sam chuckles.
“Crowley thinks he can tell me who I can and cannot date. He hates you.”
“Yeah, he has good reason to.”
The feeling you got when you felt the demons in the room is getting stronger. They’re looking for you and will find you if you don’t move now.
“Shit, I have to go now. They’re coming for me. I wish I could stay here forever with you. Dean needs you and I need you to not get killed by my dad’s minions.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right. When will I see you again?”
“Probably sooner than you think. I’m more powerful than Crowley realizes. He can’t hold me.”
You kiss Sam before parting ways with him. You hate the situation you’re in but you love sneaking around with Sam. It’s the thrill of the chase, and someone like Crowley isn’t going to keep you from being with your one true love.

Healing Wounds
Summary: Sequel to Empty - It had been close to a year since your run-in with Sam Winchester. You had spent the time hunting recklessly, which landed you in a predicament you didn’t think you could escape from. This tells the story of seeing Sam once more after his soul has been restored.
Pairing: Sam Winchester x Female Reader
Word Count: ~4k
Warnings: Swearing, mention of vomit/nausea (no description), blood, Supernatural-y things (vamps), heartbreak (but fixing it with fluff), angsty, very limited talk about mental health and personal struggles
A/N: There may be one final part in this. I felt like there was too much to cover in one part. But this also wraps up all of the angst from Empty. Let me know what you think! And if you'd like to see this storyline continue at all :) Thanks in advance!
Tumblr media
The first phone call came about eight months after you had seen Sam.
“Hello?” You answered, unsure of the number that had called you. But in the world of hunting, you always answered. Hunters were known to work their way through cell phones or have burners as back-up.
But this was a voice you had willed yourself to forget over the last eight months. Your name fell in a gentle murmur from his lips, but it sounded bitter to your ear. “It’s, uh, it’s Sam,” he cleared his throat in a way that told you he was uncomfortable making this phone call.
“Sam,” you said curtly. Your friend and hunting partner, Alicia McCaffrey, looked at you with wide eyes.
“Hang up that damn phone,” she muttered through gritted teeth as she followed you into the motel room and closed the door behind her.
You wanted to, really–you did. But somehow you couldn’t bring yourself to do it just yet. “Are you and Dean alright?” You asked firmly. You had learned that just a few months after your run-in with Sam, Dean had gotten back in the game. Bobby had filled you in on a call he had made to ask you about a hunt you had been on. Dean had tried to reach out twice to see you, but he could tell by the sound of your voice and shortness of your responses, you weren’t willing to come back to hunt with the Winchester duo.
“Y-Yeah,” he stumbled over his words–and here again, he sounded different. But you knew better. You had witnessed it for yourself. “We’re fine, we’re okay,” you were able to breathe a little easier. There was a pause on his end, and you didn’t understand why. “God, this is so hard to explain over the phone. There’s…there’s so much I wanna say…” his voice fell off again.
“Sam, I don’t really have time for this–” your heart raced against your sternum.
“I know, I know I don’t deserve it. Please, just let me explain–” it was your turn to cut him off.
“Sam, all I want is for you to lose my number,” the words felt angry as they left your mouth. As much as it still hurt, you pulled the phone from your ear and hit ‘End’.
It had been months since you had heard from Sam Winchester. Months of reckless hunting, which wasn’t usually your style. But you had a hard time caring anymore. The heartache from your one night rendezvous with the youngest Winchester had wrecked you in ways you didn’t realize were possible.
Alicia McCaffrey had become one of your closest friends, but even she had to take a step back. “You’re dangerous,” she had breathed one night after a hunt. “I can’t keep putting myself in life or death situations with you, kid.” You knew she was right–she didn’t deserve to be put in precarious circumstances because you had gotten your heart broken. Hell, she had even warned you that she thought it was a bad idea. Had you trusted your gut, even you knew it was the wrong decision. Sam wasn’t the same man you had known, and yet you went through with it anyway. You would be paying the price for the rest of your life, even if that would be a short time.
So you hunted alone now. It was for the best. You avoided the phone calls from Bobby, and anyone else you knew from that past life because you refused to open up the book of pain. You no longer cared if another hunter was calling you for help, the emotions were too overwhelming: hurt, pain, embarrassment…
With a quick shift of your wrist, your blade slashed through a vampire’s neck. You didn’t even flinch as his head rolled–eyes wide open as he had a moment to process his demise.
“You bitch,” an older vampire spat in your direction as his body moved quicker than you could turn. He caught the spot on your neck in an instant. The shrill pain of his fangs as they gnawed through your warm flesh elicited a scream from your lips. Without hesitation, you reached in your back pocket and very quickly popped the plastic cap off before you smashed the syringe into the side of his neck. He pulled back from you with a shriek as he stumbled.
“Dead man’s blood, asshole,” you grumbled as your fingertips pressed to the wet spot on your neck. It almost felt like you could feel your pulse through the blood and torn flesh. You shook the white spots from your vision and didn’t falter as you swung your machete across his neck. For a moment, you were disappointed. You could hear others coming down the hall of the abandoned estate–their chatter and growling echoed along the halls and bounced off of the marble floors.
You weren’t sure why you were disappointed. For months now, you had been living life on the edge–like Alicia had said before she left, “You have a death wish, kid. And I’m not stickin’ around for you to see it through.” So wasn’t this it? Wasn’t this what you had wanted? You thought the answer was yes, so why did it feel so wrong now that you were practically staring Death in the face?
With a quick breath, you tried to swallow past the lump of emotion bubbling in your throat. You pulled your fingers from the spot on your neck that leaked with more blood every time your heart reverberated against your chest. With narrowed eyes, you stared down the hallway where the other vamps were swiftly approaching. After a few rotations of your machete, you took one last breath. “Come and get me!” The words fell from your lips in a hasty yell.
But then, something happened. Just beyond the heavy double doors made of a dark wood, you heard screaming; slashing. You gulped once, then twice…and then the doors opened.
In your heart, you had a sinking idea who stood behind those doors. But at the same time, you didn’t think they cared enough. Or maybe that he cared enough.
Even beyond the spots in your eyes and the darkness of the room around you, you noticed Sam’s jaw tighten as his eyes moved over your frame. From the distant look across your face–the one that told him you weren’t happy to see him–to the blood still dripping from the crook of your neck just above your collarbone. Without thinking, he moved forward towards you. He didn’t miss the way your body flinched as he moved, but he forced it out of his head as his machete clanked to the ground and echoed around your bodies.
“Don’t,” you muttered through gritted teeth. He stopped, only for a moment. “Don’t touch me.” You managed once more as his large hands moved fallen strands of hair away from your neck so he could get a better look at your open wound.
“I’m sorry,” he breathed with furrowed brows and a look in his eyes that took you by surprise. The way his eyes moved between yours, it made you pause–was that…was that the light that you were so desperately searching for the last time you encountered Sam? “I have to look at it, okay?” His voice was just above a whisper.
Anger rumbled in the pit of your stomach, but seemed to quiet down at the specks of glint you saw all of a sudden. You knew he was right; you had been seeing spots ever since that vamp snacked on your jugular, or so it felt. You managed a small nod.
With maybe a second passing, he moved. One hand cradled the side of your face while the other tilted your head a bit, so it relaxed in the feeling of his hand. His eyes moved over the injury as he quickly reached away with both hands to take off his flannel covering a sweat-stained gray undershirt. You wanted to vomit when his hands left your skin, and that made you angry again. “How dare you just waltz in here like a fucking knight in shining armor,” you hadn’t realized your mouth had picked up on your brain’s thoughts and instead of having an internal dialogue, you had spoken them out loud. Oh well…at least he knew how you felt now, if he hadn’t already.
Sam’s eyes moved to yours swiftly. He nodded once, then twice before he ducked his head to look at the ground. “Sorry will never be enough,” he murmured. His head moved back so he could look at you once more. He didn’t say anything before he took his flannel and pressed it to your neck with a pressure that made you hiss in pain and squeeze your eyes closed. “I know,” he continued. “We gotta keep pressure on it…” his voice trailed off as Dean spoke up.
“I know there’s a lotta shit happening right now,” he said as he looked around the abandoned space. “But we gotta keep moving. I don’t think that’s the last of the nest and we’re fightin’ an uphill battle. We’ll come back later, but let’s get you cleaned up.” He nodded to you–Dean’s way of saying ‘hello’.
Going with the Winchesters was the last thing you would ever decide to do at this moment–well, maybe not the last thing. It was settled on the list just above getting eaten by a vamp. But your options were limited, and you felt yourself feeling more and more lightheaded the longer your neck bled.
“Fine,” you managed as you followed them back to the Impala. Sam kept his distance, and you were thankful for that. As you climbed into the backseat, Sam hesitated by the door but got the message when you pulled it closed behind you. He settled for the front seat while Dean drove.
As you headed to whatever motel they were staying in, you repeated in your head: Get in, get cleaned up, have Dean take you back to your motel. Get in, get out. Get in…get out…
Your eyes watched as the yellow light from street poles moved past the car on the drive. Tears and emotion prickled the back of your eyes and throat, but you pushed them away. You’d be damned if you let Sam Winchester get under your skin again. Fool you once, shame on him. But fool you twice…
It was only a few minutes before the Impala shifted into park in the lot of a seedy highway motel. You internally groaned when you realized you recognized this seedy highway motel–it was the same one you had been crashing at for the last two nights. They must’ve gotten in that day, because there was no way you wouldn’t have noticed the Impala.
The ride had been silent, which made you realize that Dean must also know about what happened between you and Sam all those nights ago. That made your stomach flip flop even more than before–embarrassment crept up into your chest and face. Trying to brush it off was useless, but you still attempted. You pulled the car door handle open before Sam could try to help and brushed by him.
“Assuming you guys have a med kit here?” The bleeding had slowed to a stop, which you were thankful for because it meant the damage was mostly cosmetic and everything important was still intact.
“Does a bear shit in the woods?” Dean chuckled as he closed the driver side door. “We got you covered. It’s, uh…it’s good to see you.” He nodded as his eyes lingered over you–you couldn’t be sure what he was looking for, or maybe even seeing. But you felt like his eyes were full of pity and sympathy, which made you nauseous again.
“Yeah,” you nodded, not able to return the sentiment. “If we could get this over with, that’d be great. I have things to do.”
Dean led the way to the door of their motel room. Sam kept his distance, but you could feel his gaze again. His hands shoved into the front pockets of his dark jeans.
“Where ya staying?” Dean asked nonchalantly as he put the key card in the slot to unlock their door.
You took a moment before answering. “Here. Just down the hall,” your words were soft. You didn’t really want to share that information with them.
Dean nodded but didn’t seem surprised. There weren’t too many motels just off the highway, which was what the Winchesters always booked. In that realization, you wanted to kick yourself. Even though you hadn’t meant to, you were still following their rules of hunting. “Stay just off the highway so you can peel out quick if shit hits the fan,” Dean’s words echoed through your brain.
Dean nodded as the door opened and you followed him inside, Sam just behind you. “I gotta go pick something up,” you knew Dean was just trying to find an excuse to leave. Before you could argue, he tossed the med kit from the small bathroom onto one of the beds and hurried back to the door. “I’ll be back a bit later. Sammy will get you cleaned up.”
Before a word could flow from your brain to your lips, Dean was out the door. You closed your eyes for a minute and bit down hard on the inside of your lip—so hard, you thought you tasted blood.
He had the audacity to utter your name, and it made you want to scream.
“Don’t you dare say my name like that,” you gritted through the words. “You don’t get to talk to me anymore. Seriously.” You glanced around the room in his silence, and headed back for the door. “I have my own med kit, I can do it myself.” You muttered.
“Please, don’t go,” while everything inside of you told you to keep walking, the conviction and pain in his voice made your feet stop moving. “Please. I’m begging you. I just need a few minutes to explain. Let me take care of you and explain everything from the last year and a half, and then if you still want to leave, I won’t stand in your way.”
Against your better judgment, your feet moved to turn back to face him. You could see the same emotions on his face—the anguish, in typical Sam Winchester fashion. “Let me take care of you,” his words echoed internally and stung almost as much as the cool air that was about to hit the gash on your neck.
“You have five minutes,” you said carefully as you walked to the edge of the bed and pulled Sam’s flannel away from your skin. You winced as the fabric pulled at the already drying wound.
If you had blinked, you would have missed the way Sam’s jaw tightened and how his eyes traced a path from the wound on your neck to your eyes and back.
His hands opened the med kit; as he began to work, he spoke softly. “Cas pulled me out of Lucifer’s cage. But when he got me out, my soul got left behind,” your eyes darted to his face as he poured antiseptic onto a cotton pad.
“Your soul?” You asked, his eyes glued to the cotton pad as he focused on working.
He nodded once as he brought the pad to your neck. He hesitated for a second. “Yeah, my soul. This is gonna sting, okay?” He asked carefully. He waited for you to nod before he placed the pad, cool from the antiseptic, onto your skin. Your face contorted for a minute and you swallowed the hiss that threatened to escape. “I knew something was wrong but I didn’t know what. I didn’t know how I got out of the cage or what was wrong with me. I just felt…numb.”
So far, nothing Sam had said swayed your judgment or how you felt. Sam understood that by your silence. Nevertheless, he continued working on your wound.
“Dean got back in, and then Cas…and that’s when we realized my soul was just gone,” he moved on to unwrap some packing gauze and broke his train of thought. “It doesn’t look like it needs stitches, just a surface wound. You okay if I pack it and tape it up?”
You managed a nod and looked down a bit so your hair fell into your face. Sam’s fingers grazed your chin so gently, you weren’t sure you felt it until you saw his hand.
“Sorry, gotta get the right angle,” he cleared his throat. He brushed your hair over your shoulder and went back to work. “I remember everything now,” he started again and pulled his gaze away from your eyes. He busied his fingers with the packing gauze, but you could tell it was so he wouldn’t have to look directly into your eyes. “I didn’t right away…it’s kind of a long story. But I would get glimpses of memories and things that happened when I didn’t have my soul. And I saw you…and that night…” his voice trailed off.
“Alright, that’s enough,” you cut him off before your words were swallowed by emotions—emotions you had tried so hard not to feel for all of these months. You were on your feet pushing past his broad frame before he could say another word. “I’m not doing this, Sam. I’m not going to sit here and have some bullshit heart to heart about what happened. I can’t.”
Sam stood immediately but he didn’t approach—he knew better than that. “I know I don’t deserve it. God, I know…”
“Do you?” You spat back. This time, the emotion broke through. Everything you had fought so hard to swallow came tumbling back. “Do you know how hard it was when I watched you jump into the cage? Or how I mourned you and the loss of the person I considered my best friend? Or how about how the entire time I hunted with you I wanted so desperately for you to want me the way I wanted you?” You wondered if you would regret the words, but you couldn’t stop them. Nor could you stop the angry tears that began to pool in your eyes and spill just over the edge. The look on his face remained the same—pained. “How amazing it was when I saw you standing in the bar that night? And then how hurt I was when I realized you had been back for ten months and didn’t call? But then you wanted me…and you had me,” your voice fell and you could no longer look into his eyes. “And then you left.” Your voice was so low, you weren’t sure if he had heard you.
Sam couldn’t stand in one spot anymore. He moved to you so quickly, it took you by surprise. You could tell by the way he moved his arms he wanted to touch you, but he refrained.
“I know that saying sorry means absolutely nothing right now,” he said slowly, carefully. “But I am so incredibly sorry. I don’t think I’ve ever been more sorry about anything before in my life.” His words dripped with an emotion you had never heard from him before. You thought he might cry—and you had never seen Sam Winchester cry. “If I could change it—”
“I know,” you cut him off with your eyes closed, only allowing more tears to slip through the cracks. “You would take it back. I know. It was a mistake, Sam.”
There was a moment of silence before he spoke again. “The only mistake I made that night was not showing you how much I care about you.”
Through blurry blinks you looked back at him, and it was then that you saw what you couldn’t see the last time you and Sam Winchester were in a motel room together–the light. There was still pain, but the emptiness was gone, filled again with what had been missing all along. He moved so slowly, cautiously as he brought his palm up to cup your cheek. The pad of his thumb swept under your eye to wipe at the tears that had settled there.
“You were the last person in the world I would ever want to hurt…I am so sorry I hurt you,” his eyes connected with yours to show you he meant it. “My feelings were real, I was just so screwed up…I had zero emotional connection to what was happening.”
You pulled back from his touch as your eyes found the multicolored carpet below your feet. While you had already spilled so many feelings to him that you hadn’t planned for, you couldn’t hold his gaze while you told him this one. “I wanted to die, Sam. I gave up. Being with you that night…it left a wound I couldn’t figure out how to heal. The pain was so bad, I didn’t care about anyone or anything anymore…”
This time, you knew you could see Sam’s eyes glass over. He was hurting because he knew his actions had left a scar deep within you and caused you so much anguish.
It was then that you realized—Sam hadn’t asked to be brought back without his soul. Hell, he hadn’t been asked to be brought back at all. When you had run into Sam that night, he didn’t even realize his soul was missing.
“But it’s not your fault,” suddenly, your heart fluttered. Since that night all those months ago, you hadn’t felt that flutter for anything or anyone. The feeling of emptiness was replaced with a flutter of hope. “You didn’t know, Sam.”
“It doesn’t matter,” he muttered with a shake of his head, his eyes still on yours. “It doesn’t make it okay.”
“It doesn’t,” you breathed, your tears slowing. “But it isn’t fair for me to hold something against you that you didn’t even know was happening…” as he heard your words, you saw a gleam of hope in his eyes that matched the feeling in your chest.
His brows furrowed as he closed his eyes and dropped his head a bit. “Thank you,” the words fell in a breath.
“I’m sorry it took me so long to hear you out,” your fingers instinctively reached to touch the palms of his hands. His head jerked back up so his eyes were on you, his brows still knitted together in a frown. He grasped your hands tightly in his, and a feeling of warmth washed over you.
“Do not apologize to me,” he said firmly. “You don’t owe me anything, you hear me? I hurt you. I would do anything in the world to fix it.”
Your throat suddenly felt dry, so you swallowed so you could try to get the words out. “I don’t really know what that looks like, but I’m willing to work on it together…”
For the first time that night, you saw a smile tug at the corners of Sam’s lips. He gave your hands another squeeze. “Thank you…” his words trailed away before he cleared his throat. “Now, can I please finish packing that gash on your neck? We really need to get it covered.”
You managed a nod and allowed him to hold your hand as he led you back to the bed.
“I’ll do everything I can to help you heal,” he breathed as his eyes focused on yours again once you were on the edge of the bed. You wanted to tell him it was a superficial wound and would heal just fine, but you knew he was talking about more than just the spot the vampire had bitten. And you were willing to let him try.

Being the daughter of a hunter in debt to John Winchester, Y/N is frequently dragged from town to town and pawned off to the hands of a 17-year-old Dean Winchester while her dad helps John on a case. Y/N would protest this more if it weren't for the youngest Winchester, Sam, who she may have a little bit of a crush on. She'd never admit to it, but she usually looks forward to the time she gets to spend with him, even if it did mean being left out of the action of a hunt.
Today, however, is a different story, because Y/N is having a visit from what dad calls "shark week". When she first got it, she was terrified, and dad heard her screams from across the house. But all he ever said about it was that he wasn't expecting it so soon, and she was entering womanhood. When she asked if that meant she'd be able to go hunting with him, he laughed, and tossed a box of pads at her. "Absolutely not," he'd said.
Too consumed with rage, confusion, and this horrible twisting pain in her stomach, Y/N completely misses the look of excitement on Sam's face when she arrives. She angrily tosses her bag onto the floor by the door and immediately regrets it. She gives a curt goodbye to her dad and tries to shake away the weird feeling, but the more she tries to fight it, the worse it gets. She tries to take deep breaths the way her dad taught her until Sam interrupts. “Heya, Y/N! Dean and I were about to watch a show, you wanna join us?"
"No," she says flatly, surprising herself with her tone. She is unsure of what to call the emotions that bubble inside of her. It's like she wants to hug him after not seeing him for so long but punch him for not giving her any time to get settled. She isn't interested in watching anything when her stomach feels like it's being stabbed over and over by a million knives. She looks up just in time to see his face fall, and she's upset with herself for she'd just spoken to him. "'No, thank you', is what I meant to say, sorry," she says, plopping into the chair, wanting nothing more than to become invisible.
Sam shoots Dean a look of concern, but Dean just shrugs, saying, "chicks."
Shaking his head, Sam slowly and curiously approaches Y/N, studying her face carefully as he sits in the chair next to her. With a gentle shrug, he says, "that's okay, we can do something else," he suggests, still watching her face for anything out of the ordinary.
"I don't want to, Sam" she says, but her bottom lip quivers in regret. The words are coming out on their own as if her body, or this "Shark Week" has taken over her, leaving her without control of her own thoughts, emotions or words. She covers her face in an attempt to stifle the sobs that break out of her, and soon after she's laughing at the absurdity of it all. She takes a deep breath, and relaxes into the seat, "I'm sorry," she says, "again. We can watch TV."
Sam's eyebrows furrow as he looks to Dean, smiling away at the magazine, and then back to Y/N, "are you okay, Y/N?" he asks.
"Yes! Why does everyone keep asking me if I'm okay!" she growls, "first my dad, then John, now you!"
Sam is taken aback by this, and that's when he notices that her hand is held tightly on her stomach. Suddenly, it all makes sense. Sam is confident that this isn't Y/N, that Y/N is in there somewhere, fighting to be free from whatever demon is possessing her.
"Okay!" he says, hands held up to her, "it's just... you're not you today, is all," he frowns. She glares at him, and for a moment he swears her eyes flickered black! He gasps, jumping out of his seat, "Dean, can I talk to you outside, please?"
"Oh, jeeze, Sam. Relax, would ya?" Dean says without looking up from his magazine, "just give the girl some space."
"Dean," Sam whispers through clenched teeth, taking a step closer to him, "I don't think that's a girl anymore."
Y/N stands from her chair, "what did you just say?" she snarls.
Sam swallows hard, "no, it's just..." he looks at his brother for help, but all Dean can do is laugh. With a frown, Sam looks at Y/N again. There's definitely something different about her, an anger in her face that he's never seen before. He whispers something to Dean that Y/N can't hear.
Y/N crosses her arms, "hmm?"
"Don't be ridiculous," Dean laughs, but Sam hurries to grab a glass of holy water. With a shaky hand, he turns to approach Y/N.
"Woah! What the Hell do you plan on doing with that?" she asks, taking a few steps back.
"See, Dean! I told you!"
"You think I'm possessed?" she cries, and then the realization hits her. Maybe there is a demon that has possessed her body! Maybe that's why her dad dropped her off here, or why he gave her the pads in case she needed to contain the demon somehow. It would certainly explain why she doesn't feel like she can control herself or her emotions. Her face flushes, and her whole body gets hot. She rushes to the window to let in some fresh air, but before she could get to it, Sam dumps the water on her, drenching her face and hair.
"Woah woah woah," Dean says, jumping up to stand between Sam and Y/N.
"No! Dean, she could be a demon!" Sam shouts, his voice cracking.
"Sam, no, I promise she's not a demon." Dean turns to look at Y/N as she wipes the water and tears off her face. "Listen, uh, why don't you two sit down?" he sighs. He pops into the bathroom to grab a towel, and tosses it to Y/N, "here. There's a blanket over there, too, if you want it."
Y/N only nods, taking the towel to her face and hair.
Dean rubs his hand down his face and looks at the wide eyes of the two kids in front of him. Sam nervously shakes his knee, continually glancing at Y/N to make sure she doesn't try anything. Dean pulls a chair from the table and props it in front of Sam and Y/N.
He flips it around to use the back of it as an arm rest. Sitting down, his eyes bounce from Y/N's tearful, red face to Sam's, and he laughs when he sees how scared his little brother is. In a chuckle, he looks directly at Y/N and says, "our dads suck for not explaining this to either of you," his eyes move to Sam. He shakes his head again, thinking of how ridiculous it is that he has to be the one to have the 'birds and the bees' conversation with them.
"What Y/N is going through is perfectly normal," he says, looking from Sam to Y/N, "it's called a 'period', and it's when the lining of your uterus sheds, which causes you to bleed. Hence the pads. And the change in hormones is what causes mood swings, not a demonic possession," he sighs, "any questions? No? Okay, good," he says, smacking his legs with his hands before standing up.
"Wait, Dean," Sam says, twisting his fingers in his hand, "why does it shed, though?" he whispers, looking over at Y/N, who shies away from his glance.
"Something to do with the egg not being fertilized. It's part of the reproduction process," Dean sighs.
"Reproduction? But how does the egg get fertilized? And what happens when it does?" Sam asks.
"You are making it sound like I'm a chicken or something," Y/N snorts.
Dean quickly moves the chair back to the table, "okay, no," he says hand up at Sam, "I'm not having that conversation with you two. You'll figure it out one day. In the meantime, Sam no more exorcists on poor Y/N."
Y/N sinks into her seat, trying to hide out of embarrassment from her body being the subject of conversation since she got here.
"I'm sorry," Sam squeaks, and Y/N can barely look him in the eyes, "I'm sorry for thinking you were a demon, Y/N."
Dean can't help but to laugh. "I'm gonna go out for some drinks from the vending machine. I'll be back."
"It's okay, Sam," Y/N whispers, "I kind of thought that, too for a minute," she giggles. "Can we watch that show, now?"
“Sure, Y/N,” he smiles, clicking the remote
