Is the protag of gen7/Ultra Moon but different backstory prior to the games!

Instead of being from Kanto like og gen7 protag, she's originally from Alola, but moved away when she was like 6 cause of her dads job. Note that she never rlly had a close relationship w her dad cause its important later 👍 No negative thoughts, he was just very busy w his job and all. First moves to Kanto, lives there for two years, then moves to Hammerlocke in Galar when she's 8 and lives here till she moves back to Alola w her mom at 11.

While in Galar, her mom befriends Raihan's mom, so the two become friends despite a four year age gap(I hc Raihan as 25 by SwSh games so 👍). They hang out somewhat often, Lilith doesn't really have social media until she's like 10 but they stay in contact when she moves back to Alola.

Cue entirety of Ultra Moon that I am not recapping, becomes Alola's first champion, deals with some Ultra Beasts, fucks around and finds out in Ultra Space for fun. Reverse adopts Guzma as her dad because 1) Man that ran away from home is funny 2) just went through some traumatizing shit together 3) Not very close with her actual dad, has no father figure 4) funny dynamic

As a champion she remains pretty lowkey ig? Continues to pick up every odd job she can find, very close with the people in person but remains stone-faced and professional in any official stuff(battles, interviews, etc..). She wants to promote Alola as not just a vacation spot, but also a place that's a serious menace when it comes to battling, despite the league being so new, so she's very active in battling, visiting other regions for exhibition matches and what not.

But! The gremlin is real. Though she's got a lotta work cause league is so new and shes basically the chairwoman,,, she also investigates Ultra Space on the side because she thinks it's fun and a chance to relax!! She may be professional or kind on the outside but by god will she fistfight a UB if she has to.

Here's the spice tho,,, is invited to Galar along w Alola's elite four for some exhibition matches and a small vacation to meet old friends, about when she's 19 so two years before "current" time yk.

First time she sees her friends in Galar since she lived there so she spends a lot of time w them ofc, gets introduced to people within thr Galar league like different gym leaders and, ofc, Piers, who she has a few mutual friends with. Heeheehe they mainly become friends cause Raihan and Leon r like "You're both my pals so you're pals now" n all is almost good

Finally,,, the crushing part(Sorry not sorry this is so long I have soo many thoughts). So Champ originally only sees Piers as a close friend cause they get along well and have shared interests, while Piers starts like,, a small interest at first and then as they get to know each other more has a realisation one day that he's got a big fat fkn crush 😳

Champ only realises like. Almost a year later that she might have a thing for him when she watches one of his concerts for the first time

Ougoiuoho I havent thought out how they start dating yet okay but I'm thinking like. Slowly start doing more n more stuff like holding hands and then one day "so what are we?" "Dating?" hi guys I haven't addressed this but I've seen some stuff recently that makes me think I probably should.

As both an OC and x reader artist/writer, it makes me incredibly uncomfortable when people take my OC as either my own self insert or a reader insert.

When I first shared Rie, I said something along the lines of "a non self insert OC." I didn't specify this to poke fun/hate on self inserts, but because I have been called my OCs before and it makes me incredibly uncomfortable. I am not Rie, my pronouns do not include she. I am not any of my other OCs either. I'm Lei, they/them. Please don't call me anything else.

I tend to write OC stories in first person to 1) differentiate from second person x reader stories and 2) because it comes easier than third person. Writing in first person DOES NOT MEAN I or the reader is intended to be the PoV character.

That leads to the second point; Rie isn't meant to be me, but she isn't you guys either. Riri is an original character with their own thought out story, design, etc. I DO write x readers and those are totally okay for you guys to project onto! I encourage it, I love it. But with Rie, do not ignore my hard work and simplify my beloved OC into a reader insert. I haven't had any experiences like this with Rie specifically, but a while ago I had some with my other OCs, and I've seen people using other people's OCs as self inserts on my dash recently.

This is not intended to hate upon self inserts. I love them and I think they're so cool and there's about a 50/50 chance I'll make my own after reading LABB. But my OCs, including Rie, are not self/reader inserts. This may not apply to every artist/writer out there, but I find it disrespectful and hurtful for people to use my OCs as a stereotypical reader insert, or call me by their names/pronouns. It makes me really uncomfortable.

TL;DR: I am not my OC, you guys are not my OC, I wish no hate to self or reader inserts but Rie is not one. Thank you.

and how their bond sets up Shuri's and Namor's fundamental difference

I can't stop thinking about how Namor's proposal sounded like utter madness to Shuri, when only a few days ago, during a moment with her mother by the river, she seemed fully positioned to accept it. So what changed? She met Riri. And in Riri, she saw herself reflected back.

At the dorm, Shuri could have shown anger at Riri for building a machine without thinking of the ramifications, but instead their encounter went much differently. Shuri's enthralled by her. When discussing the vibranium detector, Riri says that her professor had no faith that she could build one. "To be young, gifted, and black, though, right?" Riri adds, hinting at the struggles that black folks face with the American school system. But then Riri immediately expresses doubt that Wakandans share a similar phrase, most likely believing that black folks aren’t stunted in a nation like Wakanda. As we know, this isn't necessarily the case. Shuri agrees with Riri's sentiment by saying, almost to herself, "Brilliance at a young age is not always accepted by the elders." Though the reason for their struggles are different, the core of it is the same. They are young, gifted, and black, and both grapple with the issues that come with being such. In this dorm room scene, you can almost see Shuri's heart unfurling. She's meeting her former self, the funny, vibrant one that existed before her brother's passing.

It was this person--this sliver of childhood--that woke Shuri up, that reminded her of what and who must be protected in the world. And to extend this further, Shuri has lost her identity as a sister, but through Riri, she can regain it. She can heal, because Riri offers her the chance to be to someone like her brother was to her. Pretend insert gif of Shuri and Riri dapping each other up. It's reminiscent of Shuri and T'challa in the first film, isn't it? Shuri can continue T'challa's legacy in this quiet but monumental way. Shuri can become not just an elder, but a better one.

Or a great one, to echo Namor's words. It's funny how he says that his own ancestors believed only the most broken people can be great leaders. And I think that can be true... I mean, the more 'broken' you are, the more you've been hurt in the past, and hopefully that means you can share a better connection with others and try to limit the pain that's been done unto you. If the film is saying to be broken and to be great means extending compassion to others, then Namor fails to do this with Riri.

Namor only calls her 'scientist.' She's never more than that. Unlike Shuri, Namor only sees her as the danger she put his people in, and due to his avoid-risks-at-any-cost thinking, it's impossible for him to view her as otherwise. Does he ever question why Riri built the machine? Does he ever seek to understand why Shuri is so adamant about protecting her?

Does he ever see Riri as wholly human?

Like even before Shuri knew her, as soon as she saw Riri, she understood she could not give her to Namor. Shuri protecting Riri come hell or high water maintains Black Panther's theme that the safety of black girls stands above all else. And the way that Shuri recognizes this, even though she was blinded by fury and grief and willing to burn down the world--which would have girls like Riri in it--a mere days before, shows just how much the heart of her character conflicts with Namor's.

Shuri takes the risk to see the humanity within others. Namor is not so lenient. And yet, it was this difference that saved his life in the end.

i say it a lot but. she is me i am her. like actually, spencer has only been an oc for like a week and she has taken such a tight hold on my brain. I pour a lot of myself into my ocs, but i think spencer is the oc that has really gotten the most. she is the closest to a self insert i think out of all of them, she shares a lot of my behaviors and such. but she is just so fun for me to talk about (im sorry to lori and aj) and figuring her out has been such a blast.

amara owens [infamous: second son]

MISS AMARA CELESTE OWENS. I've had her for as long as i've had the fc5 clowns, or maybe even longer. Amara is an oc that makes me really happy. for a while, i never knew where i wanted to put her; i tried making her a multifandom oc but it just didn't feel right. then i played infamous: second son and it felt like everything just clicked with her. she's one of my most important ocs, no one else have i played the same game 6 times for.

ms marian is also one of my oldest ocs, she's a little younger than the fc5 clowns, but she's also one of my favorites. she's another really fun character for me to think about. it was so fun to play the game and know exactly where she would be and what she would say. while i haven't done much with her canon or sadie au, making this new, spooky au for her was some of the most fun i've ever had with an oc. using concepts that i've always been a fan of but never really used has been so fun and it all clicks so well with marian

my child whom i share custody of with lori. she has been one of my favorites for almost a year now, another one that has helped me figure out some stuff about myself, and like spencer she truly did grab onto my brain and has not let go. i never thought i'd make an oc for cod, let alone like,,,22 including side characters. half the fun has been getting to bounce ideas off of lori, and sylvie is absolutely one of those ideas. most things about her-- her name, her face, her backstory, even her ship-- are all lori's amazing ideas and i am so happy to have both of them in my life.

thalia's some kind of phoenix-rising-from-the-ashes deal, but in a like, i scrapped one oc and made her. when i was overhauling Amara, i decided her assassin's creed au didn't really work, but i wanted an oc for odyssey so bad; so enter Thalia. she's one of my more stick in the mud characters but i still love her a lot.

you all knew she'd be here. the blueprint. the very first clown. the batshit insane queen herself. the reason i made this blog. Elle has been through a lot. and i've been through a lot at the same time. she's been there for me as a creative outlet through a lot of bullshit and i am so thankful for her. making her let me deal with some of my own trauma in a way. she's one of the only ocs that i shove into different ships and aus, and every one just works so well for her. she's gotten a bit of an overhaul recently and i'm even more happy with her now.

emily parker [far cry 5]

i can't talk about Elle without Emily. Emily is also a very self inserty character but she's also someone i wish i could be somehow. I don't lean on her as much as i lean on Elle, but i enjoy messing with her every time i do. she's an older oc, but there's still things that are up in the air about her namely if i will ever commit to shipping her with Wheaty.

Margaret Elizabeth Seed, the only oc i have argued with someone about. she was the very first ship kid, such a commanding presence; ever since making her it almost felt like she made herself if that made sense? another one that things just really clicked with; she's also my first aroace oc, and that has become very important to me. she stands on her own, she's another one that i want to be like when i grow up.

daniel seed [far cry 5]

the second ship kid. Daniel almost didn't exist, but i decided Margo could benefit from a narrative foil of sorts. he was a bit of a hassle, he was my first male oc and as such i couldn't land on a face claim for the longest time which was really frustrating for me. he and Margo are both such fun characters to write for, i love how i've managed to make them so similar and so different at the same time.

warren armstrong [far cry 5]

Warren was made at the same time, or close to the same time, as Daniel. he's the first oc that I have actually come up with a family for though, and that has become somewhat of a trend because of him. Warren took a second to really figure out, but he fits in so well with the twins and their shenanigans once i did. I don't talk about him nearly as much as i should, but he is also one of my favorites.

ines cousland [dragon age origins]

I have a lot of violent or manipulative ocs (i think, at least), but none of them are on the level that Ines is. Ines walks around with a sort of chip on her shoulder about the world she lives in. she's composed and calculating and power hungry. she makes a lot of cruel and sort of impulsive decisions as a warden, but she is always one step ahead of those that challenge her. she knows she has enemies and she will stop at nothing to ruin their lives just for the fun of it. she's also incredibly ambitious as well; she wanted to be one of, if not the most, powerful people in Thedas, and she would stop at nothing to get herself there.

Rhea is not nearly as malicious as Ines is but she has her moments. she's not technically a villain, but she's also not really going out of her way to help the heroes either. she's never really had any second thoughts about her actions, she will take her own side before anyone else's. she knows she's one of the most powerful alchemists in the world, and if that inspires some fear then so be it.

levi choi [call of duty: modern warfare 2019]

he has to be here, but he's not really that mean compared to the two above. Levi's that friend that is always brutally honest, the one that you just want to fight sometimes because of it. he's not afraid to say what he thinks, he never writes a check that his ass can't cash, and you will hear about it if you piss him or his friends off.

Mel is another oc that got somewhat of an overhaul. when hbo tlou came out, i decided i didn't like the direction i went with her, so i scrapped it and started over. she turned out a lot softer this time, being reworked to be one of the friendliest faces of Jackson now. she is a bit more of a background character now because of her role in the universe, but i think that works out better for her.

amara owens [infamous: second son]

my favorite daughter here once again. Amara is one of the softer characters in the main cast of second son but that's not to say she's a pushover either. she would do anything for her friends, she would give anything to help a stranger. she's just one of those ocs that radiates a lot of positive energy and light.

kennedy ryder [mass effect: andromeda]

another one that's soft but is not a pushover. Kennedy would do anything to help anyone in need, but she will not let her kindness be taken advantage of by anyone. she's seen a lot, she's been through a lot, but she doesn't let it get to her. she's also the resident optimist of the gang, which can be a blessing and a curse.

nettie hayes [red dead redemption 2]

nettie, however, is too soft for her own good. maybe. she's the most optimistic oc of mine, always has her rose colored glasses on. in her mind, her world is a lot more idyllic than it is. she is a bit of a pushover as well; she can recognize when she's being screwed over but she won't do anything about it. she wears her heart on her sleeve and is probably the most sensitive of my ocs

Veris Rila, my first inquisitor, one of the dimmest lightbulbs in my chandler but she still shines. she is the very definition of 'just trying her best.' she's smart in her own way, one that does not make sense to anyone but herself. she's also impulsive, almost out of spite at this point.

hanan shepard [mass effect]

another knowledge sponge, Hanan loves to learn about anything she can get her hands on. ship engineering, biotics, alien languages-- Hanan will find something new to learn whenever she can. and she will not hesitate to info dump on the nearest person.

andy kwan [tomb raider]

Andy! another incredibly bright mind. she's working on her masters in ecosystems ecology for much of the tomb raider shenanigans, and she uses these trips for her own personal research. she's not quite on the 'learning something new just for shits and gigs,' but that does not stop her from constantly taking in some knowledge somehow

Moments before Despair

An Au Prequal with my OCS, where they lived a normal life before the events of DR2

It's my dad's birthday so I did a quick story about the self insert's father to celebrate. He's touring the school and meeting some classmates.

He clearly has a favorite.

Read below to find out his fate in the AU

Edward Moreno's self proclaimed title is the Ultimate Dad, seeing that all his children were scouted into Hope's Peak Academy. Personality wise, he's a hard worker but can also be a bit of a partier. He dotes on his children and is very protective of them, escpecially Rizu/Liz, since a lot of her performances are dangerous, risque, or both.

Her father is a retured prison guard who became a mechanic, operating on the family's ranch back on the Mexico-American boarder and using the money to make and send care packages to his Ultimate Children (and Nephew). He came to watch his other daughter take her practical exam and prepare his only son to join class 78 at Hope's Peak. Since it was an off day, he decided to tour the campus and meet some of the students living with his daughters and nephew.

Before the tragedy, Edward only visited Hope's Peak once. He is still protective of his kids, but has symbolically adopted his children's classmates and often says to say hello to them in calls and care packages- even sending small gifts for them for their birthdays.

During the tragedy, Edward was grateful that his oldest daughter survived, and while he understood his son's choice to shelter in the school, his family had to make the hard choice to accept the "deaths" of the two kids in Class 77-B, who became the Remnants of Despair. He unfortunatly witnessed his son endure that killing game thanks to the broadcast of it worldwide.

After the events of the Killing School Life with Class 78 and his son's return, he and his siblings turned the family ranch into a shelter for their town and kept despair away from their part of the world. When his son made the painful phone call about what really happened to Edward's youngest daughter and nephew, the "Ultimate Dad" went silent, unsure if the Foundation's choice to execute them was ethical or not. He soon made the choice to refuse it, and gave the 14th division permission to do whatever it takes to save them.

While he didn't observe the Killing School Trip, he was given updates about it until they were rescued.

After the tragedy, he learned that the class banished themselves at Jabberwock Island and accepted that this was his daughter's sacrifice to the world. To this day, he still sends care packages to the island.

p.s. since the school is in Japan, the JP version of this story has the class pronouncing her name as Rizu, and also reffering to her as Riri.

Yeah that's why I asked to draw her, she is so fun to think about it. But anyway yeah to me this is how the fusion happens. So Anzu is super fed up with of all the Love Cupid stuff. So out of pure desperation looks up occult shit and finds and summons Bill Cipher. She wants to make a deal to get Riri off her back and so Bill possess her.

But as he does and she finds out more about her and keep talking to her ghost. Bill starts to actually liking her to his surprise. Because her being so enthusiastic about such simple things is so unlike every other human he ever met.

So he decides to instead share a conscious with her, to find out what made her tick. And viola turns out fusing with someone is how Cipher can use his powers in the psychical realm. Hence chaos ensues. Now I was going to go into more but this is too long so I'll stop here lol

I like how it goes, it sounds someting like anzu would actually do only to stop all of the chaos is happening in her life.

Freelunchers!! my little group of freelancer OCs that sit at the same lunch table. they're like 2nd/3rd string in terms of leaderboard stuff and not super competitive??

Agent Rhode Island! Rhodey, Riri, known to his family as Ari. He's got a big role in my Yellow Church au as an undercover sim trooper, Private Duncan Argus, klutz extraordinare (this is on purpose) I think I've changed his specialty from stealth to more speed but i guess both can work

Agent Oregon, anime nerd and team mom. goes by Ori or J. 💚 he's often placed as lead on teams when they're sent out for missions. very good at keeping his head when missions get hairy but tends to nag about safety issues.

Agent Delaware, i think we talked about him earlier lol. used to be on explosives disposal squad before freelancer. he's fun :) and yes he requested to be Delaware because his name was already Del

endgame is Oregon/Rhodey/Del :3c they each have 2 hands

Hammy my girl!!! she's got extra storyline stuff too bc she goes awol when (season 10 spoilers) and eventually ends up working as a mercenary called Sabre. Friends call her 'Bee'. Her and Mint (↓) are banned from teaming up in video game tournaments bc they destroy everyone

Agent Arkansas, my other minty self insert guy.... he ends up captured on a mission where things go south and Oregon loses a leg, winds up with actual anti-unsc Insurrectionists and gets a good look at Freelancer program from the outside. ends up doing mercenary work too, code name Haze. he ends up looking like North when i draw him if I'm not careful 💀💀💀

Agent Indiana, Indy, "Annie" (not her real name) because she's a deadeye with a rifle, used to ruffle feathers at shooting competitions. she's the newest oc and i don't have a whole lot on her but there's an except from the counselor's notes:

Laid-back temperament, prone to solving disputes with her fists instead of words. Difficulty in self-expression seems to stem from a deep-seated exhaustion with being chronically misunderstood or misinterpreted.
