I don't think I talk enough about Alma being a literal Monkey. Waiting on the opportunity to use her primal form honestly, I love drawing/rping people who are going apeshit. Literally and figuratively.

Shen Lung: Taliesin what are you eating?
Taliesin: Oh a sour plum, want one?
Shen Lung: *takes it and eats it in one bite* Hm not bad… tastes- like the smell of fermenting dropped fruit though-
Taliesin: well they do ferment quite a bit, it’s what gives them that ‘funk’ as Lucien would call it.
Shen Lung: …Taliesin do me a favour and tie me to a tree. Quickly.
Taliesin: why?
Shen Lung: Unless you want your face bitten off by a drunk monkey do as I say now please we have a minute before it hits my liver.

Monkey King Reborn
Genre: Romantic
Pronouns: Gender-Neutral
TW/CW: None
Character(s): Sun Wukong-Monkey King
Just some headcanons that I wrote way last year that I never got around to posting. Oops-
Tumblr media
So-👀 My little dumb brain is like-what if, in the movie, since Sandy has his knowledge, Wukong is the muscle and speed and Tripitaka is the center of the group-Why not have a healer/protector?
You, a seemingly normal child, who was bullied for their weight and told that you'd never make it anywhere, awaken your powers when helping a merchant passing by your village. They got hurt, and with your caring nature and panic at the moment, awakened the power within you. People in your village raved about you, sweeping all the bullying and harassment they did to you under the rug and begging for your help.
You agreed for a price. After all, in this cruel world, you only had yourself. Very quickly, people got greedy and even wanted to marry you off since your children had the chance to inherent your powers, which disgusted you. At one point, you just got up and left, never wanting to return. These people weren't savable, nor did you want to help them.
After leaving and wandering on your own, you meet the gang. Tang Sanzang, who had just started his journey and needed another human around, was happy to have you on board, ready to teach you what he knows. The bond you two build is one of siblings. He, the strict yet gullible brother, and you, the more realistic but still kind sibling.
Of course, you meet the others. Sandy, the cute and wholesome water demon. He'll tell you all about the books he has, from myths and stories to demon knowledge. It's adorable how invested he is, and he's happy that you listen. Nerdy friend + supportive bff. You also think it's cute when he's excited or shocked and a bubble leaves his mouth.
Pigsy, the perverted and cocky pig demon. Of course, he sees you and he's drooling. Trying to flirt but quickly getting rejected by you. Every once in a while, he pulls through, which you appreciate, but your relationship with him is aquantices at best.
And then, there's Wukong. He sees you and, like the other beings he's encountered, doesn't really notice you. I mean, you're different from all the women he's seen before his entrapment, being more curvy, and you've got a warm aura, but that's about it? He doesn't really get why you're traveling with them. You just seem...so defenseless? Weak? Way too kind to just be kind.
He's got his eye on you. Thinking that he's gonna catch you doing something bad and call you out. But as time goes by, he realizes that you're...just a nice person, much to his shock. You never ask for anything in return, and you're always happy to help them out.
Let's say that he takes an interest, say when you use your powers. Whether to protect him from an attack with your barriers or when you heal a bad wound of his. He hasn't seen many with your abilities, what with everyone usually just fighting it out. It's a bit interesting, but he still thinks you could learn some self defense.
Your kindness towards him is...strange. He's so used to everyone blowing him off, throwing insults and hate his way, cursing his birth. But you cheer for him when he kicks ass. Compliment him when he finds food and water. And when the others, really just Zhu Bajie, start throwing him under the bus, you're there to defend him. You do scold him, but definitely not as much as everyone else, and when you do, you always do so as calmly as you can and tell him that you're worried about him.
He does notice that, for as kind as you are, you are a bit...distrustful towards people, keeping them at a distance until proven to be an ally or a good being. If they know about your powers, you keep a greater distance from them. It baffles him because you're on good terms with everyone on the team.
When you tell him about your past, since he's a nosy motherfucker, he starts to understand WHY. People have taken advantage of your powers, your kindness and belief that not everyone will use you, but you've pretty much been proven wrong. So when you say that you're thankful to have met them, and that they're the closest thing you've ever had to friends, he's...touched. The fact that you consider him a friend and never try to hide it makes him feel...less alone in the world.
If he ever finds out about the bullying and the people who did it, especially because of your weight, he'll keep it in his mind for later. 'You're pretty wtf???''Well, sucks for them, they missed out on a hot s/o'. He thinks in his mind. He'll visit them and teach them a lesson. Will he ever tell you? Hell no. That's a secret for him and only him to know.
In battle, you two become an absolute unit. You heal, he takes care of the enemies and you defend each other. He really likes the synergy you've built, like you can read each other's movements and just...flow with one another. He knows that if anything, you'll have his back, like he'll have yours.
When he compliments you, you know you're getting closer. He doesn't compliment just anyone, and is only directed that those he REALLY cares about. So even if it doesn't sound super cheerful or cheesy, know that him complimenting you means he likes you. "Not bad. I've never seen something like that." "Thanks Wukong!" Cue blushing monkey.
He'll unknowingly get soft for you, sitting a bit closer, sharing some of his water or food, keeping a closer eye on you in case danger appeared. It isn't until one of the members, maybe Sha Wujing or Zhu Bajie point it out, that he actually starts to think about it. My man starts going through the stages of grief.
Denial is his strongest stage. Why!? He's Sun Wukong! The strongest demon to exist! He doesn't need love! Then he'll start getting angry at himself for getting "soft". He's a demon for heaven's sake! He doesn't FEEL! At one point, he'll start bargaining with himself about how maybe it's the QUALITIES you hold.
The depression be hitting hard when he finds out it's YOU he likes. Don't get him wrong! It's not that there's anything wrong with you, it's just-he's used to being alone. He's never loved anyone, especially like this! Love is seen as a weakness, and now that he WAS IN LOVE-He was worried. He was scared for you-Not that he'd ever admit it. It doesn't help that he's immortal and you're not. Eventually, he half-accepts it. He just needs to be 1000% sure.
When y'all arrive at the Temple and he finds out about the manfruit-Say goodbye to your human years, cause you're gonna eat it. No ifs, ands or buts. He'll feed it to you if he has to. Don't test him. He's not taking no for an answer. In his mind, he's accepted that he enjoys your company, mainly because you take his side and you're literally the light of his life. He still doesn't want to admit how soft he's gone for you. He's such a tsundere I swear to god-
BDJSBSJBSJSNSBSJ-
When Yuandi is released and you're traveling with Fruitie, he sees your bond with the Qi Energy as...kinda cute. Fruitie seems so comfortable around you and you let them talk away, asking questions every once in a while. And you save Wukong the trouble of getting pissed on.
Imagine when you're all fighting against the demons, Wukong is worried about you, looking to see if you're alright every second he can. He knows you're capable, but he's...he's scared to lose you. But it gets even worse when Yuandi-When this dude roles up and starts tossing y'all around-
Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing are killed, and both you and Wukong are the only thing between him and Fruitie. You're doing everything you can to protect them, using all your energy to keep them safe. You don't want to lose anyone else-you can't-BUT THEN YOU'RE KILLED WITHOUT MERCY AND- 😢😭
Wukong, weak and close to passing out, takes your hand in his. Feeling the warmth leave it breaks his fuCKING HEART OML THIS MAN IS WEEPING FOR YOU- 💔 It isn't until you and the others are revived and next to him that he's truly okay, and without any hesitation, sweeps you into his arms and doesn't let go. You and the others are surprised by the open affection, but you return it none the less.
It isn't until you guys have said your goodbyes to Fruitie and arrived at a safe place to take a breather that he just confesses his feelings for you. It's randomly thrown out there, with the only indication of it happening being the small hue of red on his cheeks and refusal to look you in the eyes.
If you have self confidence issues and ask him if he's sure, he's looking at you, questioning if you heard what he just said. Of course he's sure! He spent all this time making sure, and now that he's accepted it, he's giving you his heart! Not just anyone can do that! It just proves how special you are! But after talking it out, you two eventually get together.
Gifts? Honey, good luck with that-He's so fucking clueless about it that it's kinda cute at times. He's a monkey. He's been surrounded by monkeys. Yeah, he's been around humans, but he's not asking them about human courting and gift giving. If he knew that he was gonna meet you, he would have asked a few questions, but that's about it.
The best he can do right now is flowers and small trinkets he finds along the way that he thinks you'll like. The fact that you enjoy them even though it's another simple flower or trinket, it makes his heart skip a beat. Zhu Bajie had the audacity to question why one day, but your sweet answer saved the pig demon from a beating. "It's BECAUSE they're from him. He's doing his best, and that's all I could ever ask for." Cue blush.
Hug this man! Give him pets and cuddles please this grumpy monkey needs it-😭 Hold his hand when he starts getting mad, it calms him down and he'll hold it back once he's cooled off. Hug him when he's done something good! Pet him when he's tired or bored, that'll get him purring and falling asleep in no time. Of course, this man is a tsundere, so he'll prefer it with just the two of you and without the teasing. You get it though, and always ask for consent, which he highly appreciates. So when it's just you two, he's all over you and adamantly refuses to let go.
If anyone even THINKS to flirt with you-Meet him out back, hands are up and he's ready to throw them for you. If anyone actually DOES, he'll give them the dirtiest glare. And people run away, never to be seen around you again. NOW-If a fool has the guts to actively flirt with you after that-oh boy 😔 They better have their funeral set up cause he's putting them in it.
But if anyone even dares to insult you and call you names. 👁👄👁 They have reached their expiration date on life and are now on their way to the Netherworld. They will not be spared and will not be forgiven, even if YOU forgive them. You deserve respect-after all, you're his queen, and as your king, it's his duty to protect you.

Hey do you know the anime Jujutsu kaisen? If yes, can I request a Satoru Gojo x reader x Suguru Geto? In anime gojo and geto are known as strongest jujutsu sorcerers, but in my request they trio since the reader is included.
I love Jujutsu Kaisen, I’m still new into the series, I only just started watching the series! It’s such a good series and while I do like these two- my favorite is easily Nanami :3
-It was odd, being stuck between these two cocky assholes, but they were your assholes, and you would defend them if needed and they would always have your back.
-When you entered the school as a 3rd transfer, Gojo and Geto tried to chest up to you, thinking that you were weaker, that they could push you around, to test you.
-Shoko couldn’t help but laugh when you both easily had thrown them head over heels, sending them through a wall, putting them in their place.
-When they pulled themselves out of the rubble, instead of being mad or trying to attack you, they both started roaring with laughter- as they hadn’t been expecting it.
-You were rather unassuming looking, something that you didn’t really mind, as it made others underestimate you- you loved being underestimated. It made it more enjoyable for you when you put them in their place.
-Shoko adored you, as you were able to keep those two knuckleheads under control, for the most part, especially when the two of them would fight.
-She got used to, if they were fighting, just tossing you in and instantly they would both be hugging you, flirting with you, fighting over you rather than them fighting with each other.
-You didn’t fully agree with Geto’s views on humanity, as he would call them monkeys, deeming them worthless and talking about them as pests that needed to be exterminated.
-You had faced harsh cruelty from non-sorcerers, so you knew firsthand that not all humans were good, but you also knew that curse users were the same- not all were good.
-Much like Geto you preferred to avoid normal humans, as you were afraid of being hurt again, but you didn’t want to hurt them, or wipe them out, something that was different.
-Gojo was a little shit, as he was always used to getting everything he wanted, and when you rejected him outright, after you first threw him through the wall, he was stunned, as he had never been treated like that before.
-If you had known what a clingy pain in the ass he was going to be, you might had rethought your decision.
-However, when Geto came along with him, both vying for your affection, you had regretted accepting the school transfer, wanting to go back home as they were so annoying!
-When they agreed to share you, despite you arguing that you had never agreed to be shared, Shoko and you both had to agree that they did mellow out a bit now that they had someone to dote on them and keep them in control.
-They adored your affection, no matter how small, from just a peck on the cheek or a small hug, to them it was like you gave them the world, and they were quick to return it, showering you in their love, which sometimes was annoying, but it did grow on you and you could tell when one of them was in a bad mood, as they wouldn’t give you any affection. You knew how to quickly remedy that- by giving them a smooch which made their mood do a 180 almost instantly as they held you close, begging you for more while you fought him, telling him to knock it off.
-You were easily the three strongest students in the school, and the teamwork between you three was breathtaking, one of you would rush in to face off against an opponent and the other two would adapt and quickly follow.
-That’s what made the three of you so dangerous- your teamwork, despite the bickering out of combat, with either of them pulling you into their arms like you were their doll and the other wanted you too- trying to get you free to hug you as well.
-This affection had a dark side, not with other students, like Shoko and Nanami, as they trusted them, it was those who would try to take you away- curses, other curse users, and other sorcerers, ones they didn’t trust.
-The day you were nearly killed, being hit from behind, a hand shooting through your abdomen, Geto and Gojo were almost uncontrollable in their rage.
-It took several teachers, Nanami, Shoko, and a few other students to get them to stop- that’s when they realized how berserk they had gone, seeing you injured.
-Shoko thought this could be dangerous, seeing how defensive they were of you, as she didn’t want to risk the safety of others if you had ever been hurt again.
-You healed from your wound- you bitched and complained the whole time, but you healed, especially with your two knuckleheads waiting on you hand and foot, as they wanted you back by their sides as quickly as possible.
-You were also relentless, teasing them for getting so worked up when you got hurt, picking on them which they adored, seeing you fighting back against their own teasing.
-You were unaware of the dark looming clouds that would soon be cast over the three of you as well as all the other sorcerers. One that you never thought that you would have to face.

Notion: the Ever After *is* the Crown of Choice, and Team RWBY (but especially Ruby) used its power in choosing themselves while they were there.
Maybe CC was some kind of corruption of the relic's avatar?
the crown's vault is hidden here:
Tumblr media
ozpin and his obsession with symbols gives the game away from the beginning; beacon's initiation is an allegorical re-enactment of ozma's mandate:
"it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well"—but partnership is based on "the first person you make eye contact with after landing." that imitates ozma's form of reincarnation. (he isn't able to talk to oscar until oscar makes eye contact with his own reflection, and he doesn't get to choose "the souls with which he [is] paired.")
"you will meet opposition along the way; do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path, or you will die." the grimm in these woods are a stand-in for salem. why would ozpin warn the kids not to hesitate to destroy grimm? because he's remembering how he hesitated regarding salem.
"you will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene." like the god of light watches humankind without intervention while ozma tries to fulfill his task.
the abandoned temple is a metaphor for remnant itself—a godless world abandoned by its divine creators because humanity rejected the gods.
in the abandoned temple are "several relics," and each pair is to "choose one and return to the top of the cliff," where they will be judged—"we will regard that item, and your standing, and grade you appropriately."
<- i wonder where he hid the relic of choice!
moreover, the sheer number of grimm in the forest is alarming—and unusual. there's several ursai, a huge pack of beowolves, a king taijitu, a deathstalker, and a nevermore; in after the fall CFVY get driven to the ruins and then surrounded by large numbers of grimm. contrast RNJR's trek across anima (qrow picking off grimm one or two at a time, long stretches of narrative in between serious encounters) or the uneventful journey from brunswick farm to argus, or the menagerie arc and its complete lack of grimm. or even forever fall forest, with its lone ursa.
the emerald forest is comparable to mountain glenn in terms of grimm density, without the wyvern or the criminal enterprise to draw them to the area. why are there so many grimm in the forest?
the grimm are drawn to the relics. surrounded by population centers, that attraction might be lost in the noise, but if ozpin planted a relic in a vault in the wilderness…? :)
as to the ever after, the cat's domain is knowledge and i'd argue that it's jabber who's associated with choice: he symbolizes the discovery of free will as much as he does the creation of death, in that the brothers made him to fulfill a specific purpose and he became something they did not expect or approve and could not get back under control, and it was at this point that the brothers split between choice-as-duty vs choice-as-freedom which is the foundation of their ideological disagreement.
my wildest and most tenuous guess (i wouldn't even call it a theory because it's largely just vibes-based) is that the spirit in the crown is. prometheus. to wrap everything with salem and cinder and the divine rebellion theme up in a tidy "stole-fire-from-gods" bow
my more grounded theory is that the crown's true power is something akin to the ozian golden cap, which 1. would explain why ozpin is so particularly afraid of salem getting THAT one, and 2. dovetails neatly with the god of light's understanding of choice as a dichotomy between obedience or defiance. the flying monkeys are enslaved by the golden cap and bound to obey any command given by the cap's wearer, up to three times. the relic of choice is a crown, an object that connotes absolute authority. if jinn can answer any question and ambrosius can create anything given the instructions for how to do so, then what is the spirit in the crown bound to do?

Peng x Mortal! Reader Headcanons
Tumblr media
They/Them pronouns for Peng and reader.
Fluff! But Peng is also a lil toxic lol. I love this bird and I need more content for them so I'll probably be fixated on them for a bit.
Catching the romantic interest of this bird is basically a death wish. They don't even realize they like you at first because "romance isn't something they'd waste their time with."
Trying to have a regular conversation with Peng almost always leads to them becoming distracted by you in some way. Whether it be your smile or the way you hang onto their every word, it drives them crazy.
Of course, this is taken out on you via taunting, putting you down, pretty much convincing you you're meaningless because they can't distinguish butterflies from annoyance.
They'll vent to Yellowtusk about it because he's the only one they feel will listen to them without giving them a headache.
"I get so annoyed when they're around, yet I don’t want them leaving my sight... Like they'll run off and die if I'm not babysitting them. I don't get it..."
"It sounds like you enjoy someone's presence for once, brother."
"...Maybe you're not as wise as I thought."
Yellowtusk doesn't take offense because he knows Peng will be back to "complain" about you again. It both worries and amuses him.
If by some miracle you see through their prickly exterior and show interest in them, Peng will only get worse before they get better. However, they'll be more egotistical, (If that's possible) boasting instead of putting you down- as much.
Peng will flaunt to the point they're performing for you as they train, always making you attend the training sessions and claiming it was so you'll learn a thing or two. Wukong definitely helps with this, only because he wants an excuse to scrap with Peng, but he also heavily ships you two on the down low.
If you confess first, Peng will be shocked into silence for the first time in their life. You expect them to yell at you, say something like "I know," or even hit you.
You don't expect Peng to swiftly turn around and fly off without a word.
Sending you through a brick wall would have been less painful because they proceeded to ghost you for the next few days as they assessed their feelings for you.
They return days later after avoiding you. The closest thing to an apology you get is Peng gifting you your favorite snack.
"I have thought it over, and I've decided to humor," They gesture between the two of you, clearly out of their element. "... This."
Peng confessing first under normal circumstances is unlikely. Wukong would probably have to step in and start getting too close to you for Peng's liking. They don't even know why they care until your attention is consumed by the Monkey King.
Peng has to come to terms with the fact that not only do they want your attention, but they want you. Peng realizes just how easily you could slip from their grasp if you reject them or get swooned by another.
What do they do? Well, if demanding you be their spouse doesn't work, they'll try human courting methods like gifts or dates. Of course, they see that as a waste of time as well and contemplate just kidnapping you(which Yellowtusk advises against).
When you two officially get together, Peng hides the relationship from Azure, Macaque, and Wukong. Any public display of affection is strictly prohibited. Not because they were afraid of you being taken away, no, but because they felt weak for falling for a mortal.
This causes issues between you two, but it was to be expected. Peng isn't too affectionate in private either, at least not in a regular sense.
When Peng sees how much this hurts you, they do make an effort to show signs of love. Maybe they'll give you a backhanded compliment or run their talons over your scalp gently.
The longer you two are together, the more they open up to the idea of showing you they care for you instead of assuming you know. Eventually, they declare your relationship to the rest of the group(proudly).
Wukong is ECSTATIC - to Peng's dismay. Yellowtusk, Azure, and DBK are happy for you two. Macaque keeps his opinion to himself, even if it was obvious he was concerned for your well-being. It was Peng, after all.
Things do get better after that. You two have your disagreements, but Peng gets better at listening to you.
Most birds stick with their mate for life, that's not much different for Peng. Even if they aren't affectionate in the ways you crave sometimes, they protect you with their life.
Only they can belittle you and get away with it.
When they're tired, they'll fluff up next to you and take a power nap. No, you're not allowed to leave. You'll hear low chattering from their beak as they bask in your warmth. Mention it, and you'll be sent into the stratosphere.(And they'll whine while denying they do it.)
Will fly you places and pretend you're being a burden. In reality, they enjoy seeing you so easily impressed by their wings. Peng definitely shows off their wings every chance they get after that, whether it's to shield you from the weather or pull you closer.
Will eventually let you kiss their beak. The reaction is priceless as their feathers fluff up, and their pupils dilate ever so slightly.
Peng definitely purrs if you manage to get them that comfortable.
Doesn't directly say I love you. They don't want to admit someone made them soft enough to express it verbally. That, and they're not entirely sure how to be genuine sometimes. They learn a lot from you. If you give them words of affirmation, they'll return them—if not a little aggressively.
They'll rub against you affectionately to cover you in their scent and then carry you around.
You'll never go hungry with Peng as a partner. They bring you food before you realize you're hungry and somehow know what you're craving.
Still belittles you, but it's somehow in an endearing way.
No one can make them feel bad about being with you now. They present you at their side as their amazing partner. Anyone who has anything to say can meet an early death.

Hey there 🤗
If you still haven’t figured out how to get Xiaotian and his siblings to meet their parents in hidden princes au I have an idea that’s inspired from one of your ficlets “Mountain”.
Picture this:
After the siblings leave the bull clan Xiaotian has them set up a territory on a mountain near a human village (the area that would eventually become Megapolis), not wanting to return to FFM for fear of celestial solders still attacking the island.
The siblings occasionally do business in the village as well as ward off attacking demons and bandits, but otherwise keep to themselves (unbeknownst to them the villagers in gratitude refer to the village as the siblings territory).
Somewhere down the line the pilgrims appear in the village, where all except for Tripitaka pick up on the strange and powerful presence.
(This would be early in the journey when Wukong is on shaky terms with everyone except Ao Lie who he considers his sworn little brother (who was going to be unjustly executed for the accidental destruction of his family palace, before being spared and placed on the journey by Guanyin, so the two of them can relate to each other better than with the rest of the group))
They ask around and find out about the siblings and their history with the village, with Tripitaka falsely assuming that the villagers are only speaking fondly of the siblings out of fear of punishment and/or death.
He tells his disciples that they will go up the mountain and handle the situation, or more accurately (not that the monk would ever admit it) have Wukong kill the demons in order to free the village.
The pilgrims are astonished when they’re meet with nothing but hospitality, Wukong is especially stunned when he sees Bai He and her six ears believing her to be the stone egg that he and his spouses created (unaware that all of them are).
Once the siblings find out that the monkey in front of them is their father they immediately embrace him and explain their story and Wukong likewise tells them how he wound up as part of the pilgrimage.
(I can picture the silent horror Tripitaka experiences once he realizes he’s been “disciplining” an innocent man)
The siblings then decide to join the group to help move the journey along and in hopes of finding clues about the whereabouts of their other two parents.
Tripitaka reluctantly agrees and before he can even think to place circlets on the four of them, Wukong offers to take on any punishment they would receive, since they are his children they are his responsibility (a decision that upsets the children, especially the very protective Xiaotian, but they’re unable to argue with their very stubborn and equally protective father).
(I can see the four of them constantly scolding Tripitaka, not only for his naivety but also his ignorance towards their father’s monkey instincts, having to explain to him what they are and why they’re necessary for his mental and physical health, “you’re telling me in all the years you’ve been together only Ao Lie has attempted to help groom him, don’t you know a dirty monkey is an unloved and rejected monkey” “What do you mean we can’t share matts, macaques can’t sleep unless it’s in a cuddle pile, don’t tell me father’s been forced to sleep by himself this whole journey”, not to mention the twins would be having the time of their lives constantly pranking Bajie for always manipulating Tripitaka to unjustly punish their father)
The siblings try their best to make celestial assistance as unnecessary as possible, to avoid being discovered and hunted down, but eventually the Jade Emperor catches wind of them and tries to send assassins to discreetly kill them (unfortunately for him he sent Nezha as a scout to oversee it, who had already meet and fallen for Bai He) (wild guess what happens to the assassins).
Later once they encounter LBD they find and free Macaque from Daiyu, with Wukong being allowed to execute her and her thrall as even Tripitaka comes to understand that she is too cruel and dangerous to be left alive.
(With Tripitaka now having six celestial primates to oversee, karma at its finest)
And eventually (with help from Nezha, thanks to Bai He) they learn of what happened to Nüwa at the hands of her father, and with the pilgrims and other allies the monkey clan storms the celestial realm to rescue their celestial consort.
Feel free to alter whatever details you like to fit your plan for the story.
Sounds good! But...
Xiaotian and the rest didn't know Wukong and Macaque.
They only had Nuwa, and that Bai doesn't remember her and Savage and Rumble didn't meet her either.
Second, Xiaotian started a personal journey to become a Demon Lord like his uncles, leaving his brothers with them until everything is ready.
So I don't think Wukong and Xiaotian will meet soon.
In fact, neither Xiaotian nor his brothers don't care about their father.
It's not that it's cruel, it's just that, since Xiaotian never met him and was very young since he last heard from him, he barely remembers that he had a father.
He only remembers his mother and his promise.

Can we again appreciate, also, the horror and pressure that comes from Luz’s ‘realization’? The fact that she blames herself for helping Philip find the Collector; And because the Collector taught Philip the draining spell, she sees herself as responsible for both antagonists. She gave Belos access to someone who let him become an immortal emperor with “magic stronger than anybody’s”, and King access to the Collector that is now terrorizing the isles. Belos had an actual game plan thanks to Luz, beyond just killing random witches; And let’s not forget that the draining spell led to Eda losing her arm, which she doesn’t know about yet!
Obviously, Luz can’t be blamed. The entire isles was manipulated, what makes her think she could’ve done any better, should’ve done any better, when she wouldn’t hold it against anyone else? Dare I say it’s almost arrogant in a roundabout way even, for Luz to hold herself to that extreme, godlike standard, and herself alone; Out of a sense of self-loathing.
But it kinda wraps around to Luz feeling the need to fix things and be responsible for them, and I can see the connection between that and her once wanting to be a chosen one, which was in itself a rationalization and attempt to make up for, justify, and explain her inadequacies in life. If Luz is a Chosen One, then her being different and rejected by the others makes sense, if Luz is a Chosen One, then it’s okay for her to assume all responsibility for everyone else, and thus blame herself over others!
Which… Yeah, in a way she DID get to have that ‘magical destiny’ she talked about in Witches before Wizards; But in the worst way possible, WELL after she’d gotten over that. Just like her brother King getting over wanting to be a tyrant with powerful lore, only to be burdened with the curse of being a Titan after all. It’s so cruel that when Luz’s wish IS fulfilled, it’s in the most Monkey’s Paw way, technically a straight play on the idea, but also a deconstruction too. Like she and King are being ironically punished for their wish, well after they’d made up for something you couldn’t blame a child for having.
I wonder if Lilith has made this connection, too? Does she blame herself, and as much? She DID at least catch onto Philip’s evil… Plus, she’s likely already used to blaming herself for stuff; Eda’s curse, which was only intended for a single day for her (even if her plans still meant taking Eda’s future for herself), as well as being manipulated by Belos in general. At this point, I think Lilith is just used to it, and focused on just making things right, like when she offered to take Eda’s place in the ritual sabotage; She’s self-pitied enough as is. Plus, who knows how therapeutic her time with Gwen could’ve been; And Luz is now with HER mom too!
Anyhow I guess I want to see Cool Aunt Lilith provide support for Luz over this, and reassure her that it isn’t her fault, at least no more than anyone else’s. This does remind me of a fic I made back when Season 1 ended, of Lilith thanking Luz for helping open her eyes… Maybe when Season 3 is over and I get a sense for how circumstances turn out, I could write a counterpart sequel in which Lilith returns the favor with her advice, even as Luz thanks her as well.
But yeah; Philip already had most of it figured out, how to get the Collector, and he just needed anyone to be a sacrificial distraction for the Stonesleeper. Lilith even points out that he did most of the puzzle to the lair; Luz might blame herself for being the reason Philip became any more than the incredibly cruel yet seemingly ineffectual human he was, instead of the worldwide threat thanks to the Collector’s knowledge.
But Philip was ALWAYS like that he and he’d always find a way, and didn’t need the Collector to form a cult of personality, just capitalize on it with the coup de grace. And yet, I can just totally understand the wracking damage and pain, because Luz didn’t just help Belos with any menial task, but perhaps the most fateful one of all, sans killing Caleb… Philip meeting Luz and her Cool Aunt really is a turning point for the entire lore of the show. But Luz’s destiny that changes the world is no longer a blessing, but a curse.
We’ve discussed how Luz has done SO much, has had an incomprehensible impact and legacy via her arrival; The way she’s changed everyone and then the people around them. But she really did take it a step further in a cruel way, a way she must still forgive and not blame herself for regardless, and it pairs very well with Philip being the same, in a negative way. And how BOTH affected fate together with finding the Collector, in their own mixed way.
Thanks to Them is a title that could have multiple meanings; Perhaps about Luz and Philip’s (and Caleb’s) juxtaposed legacies, and more! It feels like a double-edged title…  And double-edged is how one could describe Luz’s feelings towards being a Chosen One with a Destiny, her ability to do good, and conversely the risk of doing bad, and the exhausting expectation to keep up the good. My girl is like a Gifted Child but instead of excelling at grades it’s excelling at improving the world and helping people! Even if Luz focuses on not self-pitying but making up for it... How can one make up for so damage??? You can’t, but that’s not an issue because it was never her fault.
TL;DR It is very much not Luz’s fault but I just want to remind everyone why this in particular would cause Luz so much anxiety, and in understanding the gravity appreciate more her angst. It’s not just that she helped Philip but the NATURE of that ‘help’, and seeing the Collector last episode has just intensified her understanding of the consequences. It’s a lotta baggage and Luz likely heard the Collector mention to Belos that he taught him all that magic.

Purin Fong - Character Development
I love Purin so much, either in the original, manga or the remake. I feel like the remake truly captured her chaotic energy, she’s always moving, she never stops.
Tumblr media
She embraces the Monkey Spirit inside her, seeing her being an hyperactive child inside the museum and acting like a monkey was pure bliss to me...funny how no one had the guts to stop her. I  guess she’s just a force of nature, nothing can stop her intense energy.
Tumblr media
Reject Humanity ... Return to Monke
Tumblr media
I’ve already told my opinion on Purin new transformation sequence which can be found here Despite its introduction being rather short and fast compared to the other girls transformation, I love how it incorporates her animal traits and folclore, seen by using the tail as spring to jump. Seems like something she would do (how that works let’s not question it) To me she stills remains the same as her original counterpart but with a few extras making her more fun and relatable a bit to my family members.
Tumblr media
Let me explain, I have 8 nephews (I have 2 older brothers, 1 has 6 kids, the other has 2)
Tumblr media
,i have  a niece 1 year older than me, a niece 1 year younger than me and the rest is 2 to 3 years apart and we’ve all grew up together. My brother is the man of the house, the only one working and umm my sister-in-law...let’s not talk about her, she’s a mess, let’s say she’s like Purin dad in that aspect.. absent.
Tumblr media
Despite her ruling her house with an iron fist, she never did any house chores....she would leave the work to me and my 2 nieces and later when the rest was already in Purin siblings age they would too help around the house.
This was something the manga always had implied, that despite Purin living alone wit her siblings they would help her anyway they could.
Tumblr media
In small things like cleaning the dishes Like @godtierwallflower mentions is nice to see Purin paying the same attention to all of her siblings in New, unluike in the original where she seemed to favorite the girl. Her working as a street performance to raise money for her siblings is STILL ADDRESSED in her Petit Mew Mew Introduction. And like I’ve mentioned in the episode review.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I’m glad New changed her father background story, to quote GodTierWallFlower they’ve changed  to a vaguer “working overseas” instead of a “traveling across the world to improve his martial arts” because the latter was very rooted in the tropes of 90s anime like Ranma) And he’s behavior of a father makes it more reckless, when he has a dojo back at home ... But still speaking of her father
Tumblr media
In New, even if he’s working over-seas, he’s an absent figure in Purin development a growth as a person, his face is obscured, and he’s turned away and distant, looking elsewhere, because that’s all Bu-ling’s image of him is.Meanwhile, her mother is facing them with a bright smile, the same sort of smile and exuberance that Bu-ling wants to have..
It isn’t even clear on whether he supports them financially or not. Bu-ling still does her best to earn her own money, and lives frugally, even making candy instead of buying it.
His role in her life is defined by absence, in a way that her late mother’s is not She feels her mother’s presence in everything, talks to her while she’s going to sleep, searching for the ghost of her in little things. She’s dead, and she still is the one pushing Bu-ling’s dreams and motivating her.
Tumblr media
Even now, towards the end of the series, her brothers are always in her thoughts, thinking about their safety and their future.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She even invites TaruTaru to live with them, once the battle is over, her siblings would like him without a doubt.
Tumblr media
She’s a great kid, I would love to continue to follow her growth as a character . It would be so interesting to see what Purin becomes in the future. What career she chooses, how her relationship will TaruTaru develop, etc. I wish i had more to say, but there’s still episodes left and I wonder what wait us, specially by the finale.

Brief Synopsis: In The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Dorothy and her dog Toto find themselves in the strange land of Oz after a cyclone hits her Aunt and Uncle's house in Kansas. To return home, Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to find the famous Wizard of Oz who lives in the beautiful Emerald City.
Trigger Warnings: -Death -Upheaval of Life -Orphaning
Long Summary:  The orphaned Dorothy lives on the Kansas prairie with her Aunt Em and Uncle Henry and her little black dog, Toto. When a cyclone hits, Dorothy is looking for Toto, so she doesn’t get to the cyclone cellar in time. Suddenly, the cyclone lifts the house with Dorothy and Toto inside high in the air. Dorothy wakes up in the Land of Oz, where she discovers that her house has landed on and killed the Wicked Witch of the East. Dorothy meets the Munchkins and the good Witch of the North, who gives Dorothy the dead Witch’s magic silver shoes. Dorothy wants to return to Kansas, but to do so, she must travel to the Emerald City to ask the help of the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy sets out on this challenging journey protected by the Witch of the North’s kiss.
In the first part of the journey, Dorothy finds traveling companions. She rescues a Scarecrow from his lonely life on his pole in a field. The Scarecrow asks to accompany her on her journey so he can ask the Great Oz for a brain. Soon, they come across a Tin Woodman who has been rusted in place for a year. Dorothy helps rescue him by oiling his joints. The Tin Woodman also asks to join the trip so he can ask the Great Oz for a heart. As the travelers continue through the forest, a Cowardly Lion scares them. Dorothy slaps the lion for scaring Toto. The Cowardly Lion admits he is a coward and wants to join the others so he can ask the Great Oz for courage.
The travelers run into a series of challenges for which the Scarecrow often comes up with solutions and that the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Woodman, and Scarecrow use their special abilities to overcome. Dorothy and her friends must find ways across deep, wide ditches; save themselves from the attack of the part bear, part tiger Kalidahs; and cross a wide, swiftly flowing river. The Scarecrow and Tin Woodman must rescue Dorothy and the Cowardly Lion from the poppy field, which they do with the help of a thousand field mice.
When Dorothy and her friends finally arrive at the Emerald City, the Great Oz agrees to meet with them. Appearing in a different disguise for each traveler, he tells each he will grant their wishes only when they have killed the Wicked Witch of the West. So, the travelers set out for the land of the Winkies in the West. The Wicked Witch of the West makes several attempts to stop them with a series of unsuccessful attacks from a pack of wolves, a flock of crows, and a swarm of bees. The Witch then uses her magic Golden Cap to call on the Winged Monkeys. The Monkeys scatter the Scarecrow and drop the Tin Woodman on rocks, but because Dorothy is protected by the Good Witch’s kiss, they transport her carefully along with the captured Cowardly Lion to the Wicked Witch’s castle.
When the Wicked Witch of the West uses her magic to snatch one of Dorothy’s silver shoes, Dorothy throws water on her, causing the Witch to melt away. Freed from enslavement, the Winkies help find and repair the Tin Woodman and the Scarecrow. Once again, the travelers set out to return to the Emerald City but call the field mice one more time to tell them how to get there. The Queen of the Field Mice suggests Dorothy use the magic Golden Cap, now in Dorothy’s possession, to ask the Winged Monkeys to fly them there. On the way to the Emerald City, the King of the Monkeys tells Dorothy the story of the Golden Cap.
Back in the Emerald City, the travelers demand that the Great Oz fulfill his promises. Toto accidentally knocks down a screen that reveals the Great Oz is, in fact, a little old man. Still, the Great Oz, who reveals he is from Nebraska, uses his humbug wizardry to fulfill the Scarecrow’s, Tin Woodman’s, and Cowardly Lion’s wishes. The Great Oz then asks Dorothy to help him make a hot air balloon that will transport the two of them across the deserts of Oz and back to their homes. But at the time of departure, the balloon accidentally takes off with the Great Oz but not Dorothy, who is chasing after Toto.
Close to losing all hope, Dorothy learns that she must ask Glinda the Good Witch of the South how to get home. The Scarecrow, now ruler of the Emerald City, decides to travel with Dorothy and the others to Glinda’s Castle in the Land of the Quadlings. On the way there, the travelers encounter more challenges. They must find a way past some hostile guardian trees, cross a country made of fragile china, and help rescue some wild animals from a monstrous spider. When they can’t get past some Hammer-Heads, men who use their heads to punch the travelers when they try to pass, Dorothy again calls the Winged Monkeys to transport them safely to the beautiful land of the Quadlings, where they are directed to Glinda’s castle.
Glinda promises to tell Dorothy how to get home in exchange for the Golden Cap. Glinda plans to use the Cap to return the Scarecrow to the Emerald City, the Cowardly Lion to the forest to be King of the Beasts, and the Tin Woodman to the land of the Winkies to be their ruler. Glinda will then give the Golden Cap to the Winged Monkeys so they can finally be free. Glinda tells Dorothy she can click together the heels of her silver shoes three times and command them to take her home. Dorothy does this after bidding her friends a tearful goodbye. Very soon Dorothy arrives home again in Kansas, without her silver shoes but happy to be home and in the arms of her Aunt Em.

i love fungus humungous. it’s my favorite tmnt episode ever.
but i can admit that it could’ve been done better so here’s how i think it should’ve gone.
this will kinda be a character study thing.
leo’s fear was done pretty well i think. it had the funny addition of captain ryan, the personification of his want to be a good leader. but i would’ve loved some more horrifying hallucinations too. it would’ve probably pushed the y7 rating further, but seeing his family badly injured or even dead, and leo thinking it’s his fault would really show just how horrifying his fear of failing his team can be. he wants his family and friends to be healthy and safe, and if he’s a bad leader and fails them, what does he have left?
raphael is scared of bugs. it’s a known fact so i understand why they went that route, but i wish it wasn’t played off as comedy. insecta trifecta handled his fear really well, since it showed his fear includes his loved ones getting hurt too. but i wish fungus humungous would’ve mentioned that too.
but also i think his fear involves failing his family. throughout the show, he straight up gets panic attacks when his family gets hurt because of him (new girl in town anyone?). he honestly has a similar fear with leo minus the leader thing, i think. also he’s insecure about his place in the team, constantly thinking he will always be second to leo, even though that’s not true by any means.
but his greatest fear i think, is actually loneliness. sure, he goes off on his own a lot, but it never lasts. and did y’all ever notice he gets either quiet or snappy or changes the subject when someone makes a new friend? or a crush is brought up? or someone else goes off on their own (especially leo, since let’s face it, leo is his true best friend)?
it’s why i think his friendship with casey was so important to me. why slash’s betrayal hurt him so bad. why he’s so tough with leo’s rebellious side. why he needed a pet in the first place. he needs people in his life, even if he won’t admit it.
donnie’s fear might’ve looked like he feared april rejecting him, but i think it was more than that, and i wish the episode treated it more seriously. donnie is afraid he’ll never be accepted by others for being a mutant turtle, and april happens to add to that, because how could a beautiful human girl ever like him over a human boy?
at heart, donnie is a romantic, so april rejecting him is probably what he’s most worried about at that moment, plus he happened to be right next to her when he started hallucinating. he probably grew up thinking he’d never have a chance to fall in love, go on dates, or be loved in return since he’s not human. but think about it. he’s a scientist who might not ever be taken seriously by human scientists. got called a monstrosity to his face by dr falco (btw monkey brains is a great donnie episode). later in the series, he almost gets dissected just because of what he is, which clearly really messed him up.
on a side note, i wish that during the space arc, they would’ve mentioned that donnie was ecstatic to be around aliens who saw him as a person and not a monster, and then maybe april and casey are like “we don’t think you’re a monster”. that would’ve been really sweet, but heaven forbid this show talk about donnie’s insecurities outside of implications and subtext. well except for him thinking he wasn’t smart enough, but that’s not the insecurity that i’m talking about rn.
okay mikey’s fear doesn’t make sense. i never understood his fear of the squirrelanoids. not that they’re not scary. they are. but he’s been through worse imo? like the PARASITICA WASPS. like c’mon his brothers turned against him and donnie bit him. plus i have a fear of wasps and that was much scarier imo.
i think his fear should be his brothers turning against him and/or forgetting about him? and like his hallucination includes the others having black eyes like in the parasitica episode and them trying to chase him and bite him or something idk.
okay actually i like april’s fear because it’s directly connected to her trauma with her dad and perfectly understandable. and i appreciated that it wasn’t treated like a joke like the others’ fears were (except the part where she slapped donnie bc she thought he was a bat. rip). the whole time, everyone was worried about her and wanted to make sure she was okay. i just wish her fear lasted past this episode. because bats showed up in later episodes, and she didn’t react as badly. idk.
casey had just been introduced so it would’ve been hard to pinpoint a deep fear in his character. i don’t mind his fear of rats, but i wish that fear would’ve set up a connection with splinter, but the show missed that opportunity. sad times. anyway, since he hasn’t had as many bad experiences as the others, i think it makes sense that his worst fear is a more irrational fear.
the rest of the episode is fine, and i don’t have any nitpicks about it. i just have Thoughts about their fears that i wanted to share lol
