can i say something controversial. the way people (especially american liberals but that's a whole nother can of worms) act about animal testing is sooooooooooo unhelpful. like is cosmetic testing on dogs/rodents/primates harmful and unnecessary? yes, in many cases! but does that mean all animal testing - for any application - should be categorically banned? no. animal testing is a vital process in many, many medical and research contexts and is conducted under a very strict set of standards, ergo applying "animal abuse" as a blanket label to all instances of animal testing is reductive at best and shows a flagrant lack of understanding of medical ethics on the part of the population. and don't even get me started on how slippery of a slope it is to go from condemnation of animal testing to just flat out eugenics

Hey y'all. Minor update

So I went to my new gi doc and she is really nice and sweet. I told her everything and turns out the gerd pills I have rn are the strongest they have and it's the stuff they give full grown adults with stomach ulcers??? I told her it doesn't work at all anymore (and neither does my nausea pill) and she said that that's pretty concerning. Along with the fact that (she said) gerd is most common in overweight, older adults and i'm an underweight 18 year old girl. so.

But I haven't eaten a proper meal since Thanksgiving and I've been basically surviving on granola bars (and OTC antacids which don't do shit lmao) bc for some reason it's the only thing I can keep down almost entirely. I usually eat about two a day and that's pretty much it bc my stomach doesn't seem to able to take more than that. If I try to eat anything more or anything different I'll get to the brink of vomiting for hours, if not the entire day. Like one bite can trigger it.

So my doc was like "well that's not fuckin good! that's concerning as hell!" so I have a scheduled upper endoscopy on Thursday morning and y'all have absolutely NO clue how fucking ecstatic i am for it. Like it's goddamn christmas day. Istg Thursday is the day that's keeping me going rn

potentially controversial for a horror media roleplay blog, but i don't have any interest in roleplaying torture / murder or copious amounts of gore for the sake of gore with jane. i'm fine with canon-typical injury, and violent situations in general that may even surpass that, but there's a line where it just becomes torture-porn and it just makes me extremely uncomfortable to write when i feel like it crosses that line. that, and i don't want to write her straight up dying outside of in a trial context just because i don't find that compelling.

for all my lovely killer mutuals, this doesn't mean you can never be violent towards jane in threads; i'd be stupid to suggest that in the canon and even then, i enjoy writing conflict and fighting! what i don't like is the idea of "let me very specifically torture and murder your character with no sort of consequence or actual plot because it's what my character would do".
