honestly I'm probably overthinking this, but I think it's an interesting detail that in the Unmortricken episode during the whole "trap Saw box" shit we've got this shot of Evil Morty sort of disappointed/dismayed RIGHT as we've got our Morty Prime telling Rick to "take the shot".
Tumblr media
Like he's got the sort of annoyed, sort of cast down look for a few seconds (because right after we have the "We both hate Rick Prime more than each other either way" thing) and I'm reading way too much into this, but it makes me think that he does give a shit about Morty, despite his Very Constant Denial.
I mean taking all aspects of the episode under consideration, we've got several scenes where it is heavily underlined that Evil Morty does not care about Rick C-137 nor Morty, even being blunt about it and telling everyone to fuck off or it won't end well.
It's not that I don't believe he wants to be left alone, he very pointedly does, Buttttt I think E!Morty does hold some form of "softness" or positive emotions towards Morty.
Looking at their characteristics in the episode, I know most of the other fans have noticed that our "main" Morty's character seemed to have regressed for the ep to more of s1/s2 behavior, making him look more "whiney" and weak in comparison to Evil Morty. I think it's to point out that if we Had our Morty's normal behavior from even previous episodes of season 7, we'd be able to see how SIMILAR both of them are now.
(I mean c'mon, I get you rushed his character a little, but to fuck it right back to season 1/2 during a significant mid season finale? You've gotta have a bigger reason for it.)
In either case, it's likely that we have an episode of Morty sub-consciously trying his hardest not to act like Evil Morty (That's why we got the development regression for an episode) as Evil Morty seemingly just acts like himself, merely underlining that he does not care.
"This didn't make us friends" okay??? Then why even wait for Prime Morty at all to join Rick in his beat down w Rick Prime? Don't get me wrong, Evil Morty won't suddenly develop attachment to him out of thin air, but imo he sees all the potential Prime Morty has yet is currently wasting it.
It's sort of a little nod to how insane it is of a parallel that Ricks can't fucking stand one another or themselves, immediately trying to one up the other or kill, as to how Mortys can co-exist peacefully and work together without any unhealthy character implements. (Fun fact: If you're into mortycest in one of the comics two Mortys sleep w each other. So we've got established selfcest in canon too if you're imagining and rolling Evil Morty's and Morty's relationship into a more romantic ball court.)
Another little detail I noticed, we have a moment where Rick shoots at Evil Morty again for funsies and I gotta say, the expressions are feeding into my overanalyzing brain . LIKE??? AM I SEEING THIS WRONG?
Tumblr media
These two have GOT to have something cooking between them PLEASE.

NSFW Alphabet- Four
Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
He's pretty good, all things considered! So, I like to write Four as one solid conscious until he splits, so saying that, like he's smart. He knows what he's doing. He's a little disoriented after he cums, but after a moment he's up and on the move. He also has a set routine but it's more because he likes the order he does things. He doesn't mean to, it just happens.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
On himself? Honestly? His biceps. And I will take this to my fucking grave, but I, honest to God, whole-heartedly believe that this man has biceps of fucking iron. Have you seen a blacksmith's build? they have arms. And you know what? So does Four. So, his biceps are his favorite because they are also my favorite.
On his partner? He'll try to save face and say personality but this man screams thigh man. He loves thighs because he's face to face with them. Like adores them with his whole heart. When you sit down and they transform into plump pillows? He's in love. He loves squishing them and moving the flesh around in his grasp, but he fucking loves them.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
*Looks around side to side before leaning in* This man, right here? You can try to tell me otherwise, but I won't believe you. Fucking loves cumming inside of you. He knows he's not tall, and he knows he's not the most outwardly intimidating, but holy shit does it give him a rush to know that no one else has the privilege of marking you so intimately. It drives him nutty, especially if you just go on your day like that. Like he can't sit still knowing you're there, pretty legs crossed because if they're not you're going to drip on the seat.
Just the thought has him hard.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
Would love to fuck you in a skirt. There I said it. He would love to wear a silky skirt, bend you over the mattress and just destroy you. This man is both the biggest dom and hardest switch imo, but put him in a skirt and there's no question. Just <four in a skirt3
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
None. Zero, zilch, nada. People never took him seriously enough with his height. Plus with smithing and his adventure he never really thought about it. Maybe I'm projecting, but I like to think of Four as a Demisexual (Source: I am a demisexual) so he didn't really have a sex drive until meeting someone he really liked.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
Missionary. All the way, call him a traditionalist but he loves the eye contact and the fact that his height doesn't matter. Also, maybe, just maybe, he likes the domesticity of it all. He loves the idea of making you his perfect little house spouse. Even if you don't want it <3 Man i forget I'm a yandere blog so often it's not even funny.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
He can appreciate good joke. Of course, he's not gonna go looking to make one, but if you're visibly stressed, he'll crack a small one. Anything to make you smile, really. If you want to make a joke, he'll humor you of course as well.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
Very well groomed, one of the best. It's a little lighter than the hair on his head, but exceptionally fine. He keeps it well trimmed and washed. Again, it's not because he's crazy about neatness it mostly just feels better for him.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
He can be very romantic, but, honestly, he doesn't have the chance to be as romantic as he wants to be. After being in the forge, he's tired and smells and while he wants to woo you, he just can't. Of course, that won't stop him from treating you like royalty, but there won't be any rose petals or candles.
Side bar, Four absolutely makes you one of those metal flowers. Yk the ones?
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
Probably a little more common than the rest of the Links, but its mostly because every time he thinks about you, especially if his thoughts wander, he gets hard and he can't get back to his work until his frustrations have been let out. Only reason really, if he had time, he'd rather fuck you in a nice quickie, but unfortunately that isn't realistic.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
He's got a thing for bondage. So okay, hear me out, he's a blacksmith right? Who works with metal right? So he probably can make chains right? surely you guys see where i'm going with this right? He likes BDSM purely because he loves seeing you bound in the chains he makes.
I think he's also got a bit of breeding kink. This goes back to part C, but it awakens something in him that's so primal. It just drives him insane and makes his nerves buzz because it's such an intimate way of claiming you.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
He's not picky. Not in the SLIGHTEST. Y'all have probably fucked in his forge. He's a man on a busy schedule, so he's taking what he can get when he can get it. He'll fuck in the bedroom, on the kitchen counter, on the living room floor, in the forge, behind a tree in the forest, under the rushing waters of a river, he's down for anything.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
Anything. But something about having a significant other that works as well? Like not actual work, no, no he won't allow his most precious jewel to ever risk that, but things like cooking, cleaning, even writing blueprints or something for weapons you've had ideas about and want him to make-- because you aren't allowed to work in the forge it's too dangerous for you're perfect hands. That especially just drives him crazy because having a competent partner is just so attractive to him.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn offs)
Sounding. If you don't know what that is, perfect. Don't look it up. If you do, I'm sorry for your loss. He doesn't like the idea of it, wants nothing near there, it's just like the biggest turn off to him. Shudders just thinking about it.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
Contrary to the other Links I've written, he prefers receiving. Just having his spouse on their knees while he's perfecting some plan or blueprint or polishing something, sucking him off while he works? Goddess, it's his favorite pastime. Just thinking about it has him palming himself until he can get to you.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Depends on his mood, but most of the time it's fast and rough. He likes the thrill it gives him and the adrenaline rush. Plus, the fact that it renders you absolutely brain dead and mindless, just a hole for him to use is an added bonus.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
Loves them. Adores them. He does 'em pretty often too because, like I said, they fit into his schedule the easiest. He's one of the only Links with a stable job so he does have a routine and schedule to stick to, meaning Quickies are perfect for him. He gets to remind you of how much he loves you and thinks about you and how much your very aura has intoxicated him.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Loves them. So, here's the thing. Four is STILL a Link. He still loves the adventure, the thrill, the adrenaline. So the risks? The one that have him pausing, balls deep with a hand over your mouth to keep you from crying out? Get him so riled up he can't explain it because it just makes him that much more horny. Like, he is humping at you like a dog all while trying to keep himself quiet and you as well.
So yeah, he likes the risk.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
Not the most, I'll be fair. Like I said, he's got a job, he's a blue collar man-- or the Hyrule equivalent-- and he's a hard working man. So he doesn't have all the energy in the world, but the energy he does have is put to good use, don't worry. He's a man who can't go for six rounds, but the rounds he does go has you feeling like he did.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
Like I said, he likes chains. He's probably got a few spreader bars as well. Things made of metal you know? Maybe a few plugs he fiddled with. So he does have a few. And Four is the man who doesn't view toys as competition, no, no, they are his friends. His companions. His teammates. Everything needed to make you feel good. And that's all that matters to him.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
He doesn't have time to tease. He'd love to, and on days he has off he spends hours between your legs until you're a sobbing, pleading mess for him, but on the more regular days? Of course he does foreplay, but he doesn't have time for the slow traces of skin or small pinches of flesh.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
He's a whiner, but he hides it. But if you pull his head out from where he hides it in your shoulder? He's a whimpering mess, crying because you feel so good and at some point he becomes so sex drunk that it's all he can think about. And when that happens he can't help but cry for you <3
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
He loves domesticity. Every part of it and I will fucking go down with this. He loves the idea of having his perfect little house spouse who's willing and waiting for his cock at any given moment. Who cares for the house, cooking and cleaning, while he goes to work to provide for both of them. He loves having a partner with intellect, of course, but having a partner be a house spouse while also putting their brain to good use? Oh he's feral.
X = X-ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
Stealing this from Bea so thanks-
4.4 inches. Good sized balls, went over his hair already. Probably has a nice vein running up the underside of it that makes him just shatter when you run your tongue along it. Has him reaching for your hair just to stuff your mouth full.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Pretty high but also not all if you know what i mean? Like when he has the time and energy he is all over you, you can't even go to the bathroom without him loudly complaining about how he misses you in his arms. On the other hand, when its been a long day, he likes just letting you cockwarm him like a good little slut <3
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
He loves falling asleep with you because it's something so domestic to him (See W). He loves spooning you and burying his face into your hair, or chest, depending if you wanna be big spoon or lil spoon, and just feeling your chest slow as your breathing evens out. It's pure bliss to him and reminds him of why exactly he worships you.
Not that he ever needed a reason.

There are a lot of conversations on my dash today about why Astarion might have been chosen as such a cornerstone to the Ritual, why he got so much "special attention" (because he used to be a magistrate/noble-adjacent and Cazador liked to degrade him because of it, because he resisted the hardest and was hardest to break, because Cazador saw himself in him, etc.), and it had me thinking, so without littering all over someone else's post, I'd like to add my personal little theory:
I don't think there was a real reason to it at all.
Like, for starters... I don't think Cazador really thought of his spawn as people. Maybe in the beginning, when he turned his first, there was something almost special to it, a connection, but after already having turned thousands, someone having been at one point a magistrate, or a doctor like Dalyria, or something would, imo, be of little importance to him. The person is already his spawn, his slave, and to care at all about their past life as a person would imply that he is not fully thinking of them as just playthings at best (and cattle at worst), as implements to be used, which I kinda... don't think he's about? He doesn't seem to care beyond who or what is useful and/or entertaining to him, not even for his own niece: even her, he seemed only to care about breaking, but afterwards... didn't really seem to pay much actual attention to her, or favor her much at all. Amanita could just stay in the attic for all he cared.
By thinking of them in terms of who they once were, he'd be temporarily giving them back their personhood, even just in his head, and that to me would imply that Cazador doesn't believe his control to be unshakable and absolute, which... the dialogue to me says that he probably does. Like there's dialogue if you go to him without Astarion in the party, when he says something like "[when you don't return from this place] he will come here, because he knows nothing else"- not a shred of doubt in his mind that Astarion is still under his control, even in absentia, and will come back if only there isn't another influence (the player) to keep him from it. Because Astarion's identity to Cazador is that of a spawn, and not a person. (Really uncomfortable to think about how Cazador probably sees more of himself in the player than he did in any of the spawn, just from the way he talks to you.)
This kind of plays into the whole "morality of immortal beings" thing I've already talked about before with Mystra, that Cazador, believing himself immortal (especially as vampire ascendant, I fully buy that he thinks himself a god then), also thinks himself and his will inevitable. He doesn't conceptualize his own mortality, he's content torturing the others and staying in veritable stasis for as long as it takes, and while it annoys him that Astarion is taking a long time and would prefer it if things sped up, he's certain that he will eventually get what he is "due". The suffering of others in the meantime be damned.
I think that there was honestly no real, thought-out reason for why Astarion specifically was "chosen" to be in such a precarious position of being the "favorite-but-not-favored" of Cazador. I don't think there was a true reason for why any of the seven were chosen over the other seven thousand to be the "family"- maybe they were the most, shall we say, aesthetically pleasing ones, or the ones with talents Cazador thought would make their "hunting" easier... or just the ones to whom he, for some reason, took a shine, like one would prefer one pair of socks over another. Maybe he just picked the nicest-looking pieces out of a pile of pebbles for no reason other than amusement.
I think many of us want to try to think of reasons why something so horrible could have happened to someone (especially someone that we care about, even if they're fictional), and try to find logic in abuse, if only so it can make some twisted sort of sense in our heads: He was prideful, he was hardest to break, he reminded the abuser of himself, etc., but... abuse is kinda inherently illogical. More often than not, it's less about conscious choices, and more about opportunity.
I genuinely think it was on a whim that Astarion was the focus. Forcing him to ask to be made into a spawn, a slave, and having him claw his way out of his own grave was probably enough of a "putting the magistrate in his place" thing, and maybe the true reasons were literally only as frivolous as he says, that his screams "sounded sweetest", and Cazador just... liked seeing a pretty face ground into the dirt.
Sometimes it... really is that simple.
Yeah.😕

Question: as someone that's only very recently experimenting with presenting fem and is on the taller side, do you have any recommendations on types of clothes or tutorials or anything like that? I understand this is a broad question, I'm just new to this is all.
My standard response is to drop this: https://www.reddit.com/user/CatboyBiologist/comments/ynxt62/the_biologists_guide_to_catboying_version_20_what/
But there's a bit more I've learned since then, a bit more I've seen from advice that is usually batted around, and a bit of a style shift now that I've gotten more casual with things and also started transitioning. I have a bit of a rant brewing about how I think a lot of transfemme fashion advice is kinda just bad, but the essentials of what I recommend are basically this:
Greater height = more legs. If you make sure all your... stuff... is under control and SFW, try to show legs/thighs- its a nice, femme thing to express that being tall works into. Especially with a nice skirt or dress.
Directly contrary to most advice on the topic (and a huge subject of my brewing rant), make things tight or exposed around your shoulders. Narrow straps, tank tops, strapless dresses, etc. I have very broad shoulders and a medium to high shoulder to height ratio, even for an AMAB. I've experimented with this a LOT. If you use something that's loose or poofy around the shoulders, it will sit on your shoulders in a way that still "reveals" the width (not to mention that the underlying mentality that the goal of transfemme fashion is to "hide" features and what that does to ego but agh I'm going into that rant unprompted), and honestly, makes it way more visible. If you do something that shows the shoulder, yeah someone will view you as masc if they crack out a ruler, but the "tightness" of the area will make the overall profile you give off look nice and more put together with the rest of the look.
If you do want to shape yourself at all (you really don't have to imo), a little bit of narrowness at the waist goes a long way. I don't even mean shapewear like corsets, just wearing clothes that helps emphasize a slightly narrower waist. Women's clothes are intended to be worn WAY more high waisted than men's clothes, and being tall actually helps with this for a lot of dresses. This is the way they're intended to be worn, and puts a minor cinch around your waist that helps emphasize the hips. This is de emphasized or absent in lots of advice I've seen online.
If you're wearing pants, and you're wearing them high waisted enough to have that cinch at the waist, tightness on the hips will help show their shape as well. This is highly dependent on your body shape though.
Just fucking go for it. I mean, this is thrown around in a "omg just put yourself out there you'll be great" way a lot. It can get annoying and toxically positive imo... but annoyingly, its right. Many people will love to see you putting yourself out there, and you'll look great.
Experiment!!! There's so many tiny details that are dependent on tiny aspects of your build overall that can't really be addressed without like, professional experience and hours of time for consultation, neither of which I have. But try on a lot of different things, find a friend willing to help, and try some stuff out!!
Hope this all helps! As said, I might type up something more if I have the time. But point number 6 is def the most important.

Preliminary Poll
Jughead
Tumblr media
Submission reason:
They put them in Riverdale. Ok but seriously they way they were portrayed in Riverdale was so against character, so edgy on comparison to the happy go lucky personality that is the staple of his character, and the fact that they entirely erased his asexual/aromantic identity.
They took away the fact that he was aromantic!! Im pissed because he was great rep!! Seriously, reading jughead 2015 was such a personal and relatable experience that i havent found often in media because aro people are overlooked all the time and the rep is ignored for shipping purposes and its even worse that it happened here!! Not only did they erase him being ace, which was STATED IN THE TEXT, but they also took away the way that he was intentionally written to be romance and relationship averse and its just infuriating because he did not deserve this!!! Aro people did not deserve this!!! Im still so annoyed!!!
I will be honest. I have not watched riverdale and I never will. But in the comics. ESPECIALLY THE JUGHEAD(2015) COMICS. HE IS CANONICALLY AROACE. ACTUAL DIALOGUE FROM THE COMIC, OF KEVIN KELLER SPEAKING TO JUGHEAD -> "my romantic options cant take that kind of hit! you just dont get it cause youre asexual..." ACTUAL DIALOGUE FROM JUGHEAD -> "I DONT GET CRUSHES. I just--found her interesting! Its a FRIENDSHIP crush, IF anything." "...And yet, IM the crazy one for not wanting to kiss people. RIGHT." AND NO IF YOURE WONDERING HE DOES NOT END UP TOGETHER WITH THE PERSON HES TALKING ABOUT THERE. HERES HIM TELLING HER -> "I dont GO on dates, Sabrina. I dont like people that way, you know? And when you asked me out, i didnt realize it WAS a date until too late. I shouldve explained the situation, but instead I went along with it, and just kept... you know, trying to escape. And that wasnt fair to you, and im sorry. My judgement was clouded by the fact that, on some primal and fundamental level, all I really want to do is hang out with a giant talking burger. I know that about myself now, and I accept it gladly." <- i will not be giving context for that last part go read the fucking Jughead(2015) comics right now i will GLADLY send ANYBODY who asks a link. Again. I havent seen riverdale. I HAVE however watched a VIDEO ESSAY on it by someone who never read the comics. And the only positive thing they had to say about that damn show was that they thought bughead was cute. Honestly you could put ANY character from riverdale in this bracket because the original comics ARE A FUCKING SITCOM!!!! well the special stories (like Jughead(2015)) arent as sitcommy and are no stranger to Things Getting Fucking Weird but they never had shit like DARK FUCKING BETTY! No. Instead they had MORE WHOLESOME storylines, like ARCHIE GETTING SHOT AND DYING. dude unrelated one of my comic books had an ad for that with the cover that had archie lying there drenched in a pretty minimal amount of blood actually and i was sooooo scared of it as a kid. i was flipping throuhg the book the first time and dropped it and RAN CRYING AWAY it was the most graphic thing i had seen in my entire 7 years of life. sorry these comics mean a lot to me. i have over 300 of them <3
Propaganda:
a vote for jughead is a vote for aroaces. like ME <3
Aro/Ace rights.

If you don't mind me asking, can I ask your top favorite fics that you've written (feel free how much that you want to list)? Why they're special to you? Is there a specific inspiration when you wrote them?
Oh this is such a fun question, no one's ever asked me this before! Okay ummm... in no particular order because these are special to me in different ways ー
A Fangirl's Dream (still in-progress, I'm just slow TAT)
Ivy has it rough. She's no anime fan or FMA fan. But when she somehow crosses the gate, she finds herself in the worst possible position: a protagonist of an Another World fic trope. And between the alchemy, automail, lack of plot knowledge, and struggling with her attraction to a pretty blonde mechanic, Ivy reluctantly teams up with the main characters in her journey to get home.
This is a fic years in the making and I'm not talking about how the little hiatus it is in. This was a fic I started working on in about middle school as a pair of sister stories that I deleted on an old FFN account. It was going to be some sister stories about two friends that end up in FMA at different times before their stories coincided with one another and they crossed paths in their separate adventures in Amestris.
One friend was an established fan of FMA and the other wasn't an anime fan at all. AFD covers the journey of the friend who isn't a fan of anime in general, having only watched a handful (NANA, Naruto, DBZ). FMA, is not one of them.
In middle school these fics were going to be EdOC for AFD and for Swept Away (SwAy) it was going to be LingOC because at the time, those were the characters I was most obsessed with.
A handful of years back I decided 'you know what, I'm going to rewrite AFD and SwAy and finish them no matter how long it freaking takes!!!!' And in the process, new ships evolved and different journeys for the OCs, Ivy (AFD) and Akasha (SwAy) were developed. Ivy and Winry had such good chemistry, imo, that I decided to shift the story to be about them whereas I had more of a darker descent planned for Akasha who couldn't distinguish that while these were characters she knew and loved, they are real living people in front of that won't act according to the scripts she's crafted in fanfiction's passed.
I'm hoping to get back to writing some chapters for this soon so I can finish AFD and finally starting working on SwAy and make past me proud to have finished them.
The Different Rules of Summer
‘Okay so you think ghosts are fake but totally think that bigfoot and mothman are real?’ Lance scribbled furiously on the piece of paper in total disbelief. ‘Ghosts are total BS, man’ Keith look disinterested. ‘This is why you’re single' Lance didn’t expect that his summer vacation would be spent at a library arguing with his deaf co-worker about why cryptids totally aren’t real. Keith volunteers at a library to keep himself out of trouble while his brother works. The worst part of his day? Explaining to some moron why Mothman is definitely a real entity and why the first moon landing was fake. Funny enough, this is the highlight of both of their summers.
This was such a fever dream of a time to write but in the best way possible. VLD was still ongoing and thing going on in my mind was that I wanted to write a multi-chaptered fic and finish it. So I decided to make a personal challenge for myself that I was going to write a fic with 40 chapters for 40 days.
1 chapter everyday, it didn't matter how long each chapter was as long as I wrote one.
Beginning, middle, end. And I did it. Some days I was cutting it close and it felt like a chore to push the chapter out but I did it. I wrote 40 chapters in 40 days, 1 chapter a day and I'm really proud of myself for doing that. I honestly lwk recommend other people try out this sort of challenge themselves if they're ever up to it and have the time!
So I drafted up 40 chapters to write in the draft, some dumb but memorable titles for said chapters and got to writing and wow did this story unexpected blow up? I was not expecting this story to become as popular as it did but it was so fun to write and talk to the people reading it. Especially the Deafies who found the fic and thought I was accurately portraying Keith's experience as being Deaf.
It's not perfect, there's a lot of mistakes and clumsy writing but I fucking did that and no one can take this away from me.
Man is the Breast, Heaven is the Playground + A Blazing Star Sought Refuge in my Chest
(csm manga spoilers ahead)
You might be the only one in your division not utterly smitten with your partner, Makima. Call it disinterest, call it being observant that her smiles never reach her eyes. Either way, you have no interest in bridging the gap between you both. But one day, an attempt is made, and it isn’t by you. + Your contract was simpleー the Control Devil would not use her powers on you, you just needed to stay with her forever.
My beloved Makima duology that someone on twt deadass tried stealing and passing off as theirs. That shit aside though, wow did I love writing these.
At the time, I was really frustrated by the state of the Makima x Reader tag. Because it was usually just Dom Makima smut. Which, there's nothing wrong with that but because what I wanted to read was something that explored the depth of Makima's character, the goals that motivated her terrible actions in the manga and the loneliness that wracked her sense of self..... I decided that I wanted to read that story, I would have to write it myself.
So I did. And because people loved HBHP so much, I felt inspired to write a sequel that included Nayuta.
A lot of love and care when into writing these stories and it makes me happy when I still see people reading them if they find them in the tag. I didn't expect to like writing for Makima as much as I did, I honestly want to write more concerning her if I'm being honest. I do have a WIP on that right now, it's just taking forever to get my vision just right...
The Summer Moon Was Born to be Loved pt 1 + The Summer Moon Was Born to be Loved pt 2
You got pregnant and the ghost of university days past finds out five years later.
Months in the making as there was a lengthy hiatus between both chapters but this was something I had a lot of fun writing. I wanted to write my own spin on a trope I've seen established and simply wanted to write it well. I had been talking with a friend of mine about it and we discussed how we thought the events would go with different characters from Mitsuya and Hanma from TokRev to Nanami and Gojou from JJK. I thought as far JJK went, Gojou had the potential for most mess and decided to write a story involving him.
And in that, I ended up including a lot of one of my favorite things in the world: the ocean. Utilizing oceanography terminology to showcase the emotional states of the characters, the events happening between chapters, I had a lot of fun doing that.
And I think that I had a pretty clear and concise ending as well. So yes, another personal favorite for sure!
Lost Girl (in progress)
Believing your father’s concerns as the last black family living in the secluded mountains of Wall Maria to be simple paranoia, a you naively set out on YOUR own to discover the world and what it truly holds. Yet after encountering another family secluded in the mountains, the Ackermans, you realize that maybe his concerns weren’t so unfounded in the terrifying yet beautiful reality you live in. Befriending their daughter, a fellow survivor in what it means to be the last of their kind, you find your path leading to the horrors of the Fall of Maria and the 103rd Cadet Corps.
Not my most popular series but one I'm updating slowly nonetheless.
This story has had multiple incarnations. UtSD ver 1 was an OC fic before I turned it into a reader-insert. But version 3 came as LG, another reader-insert but one I think is more polished.
My inspiration for making this was simple. I wanted more Mikasa fic content out there and I wanted to read a fanfiction story where the OC/reader in question were black like me. It's something that's permeated through my brain since high school back when we knew little of where SNK was heading as a story.
What would it be like if you were living in the Walls and black? How would your treatment fair, the beliefs bloomed about you and your kind? Especially if you're decidedly the last of your kind within the Walls. And the comfort that may possibly come from having some sort of like you except not quite.
I don't care if people who aren't black also read this story and partake in the adventure. All I care about is writing something everyone can enjoy, especially if they're someone like me or if they want to read something different.
I hope to one day see more unapologetically POC OC and reader-inserts scattered about the tags alongside ethnically ambiguous ones. I personally usually write ethnically ambiguous characters so everyone can enjoy my fics by not specifying hair texture, saying that your cheeks warmed instead of blushing and things like that. But sometimes, I wanna write something that's really just for me.
Se réjouir, se réjouir
The sun; Neuvillette is the sun. And Furina? She’s not fit to even be the moon. There is a surprising loneliness to freedom.
Wrote this some days after after the 4.2 patch update and finishing the Fontaine AQ. This was a ship I fell quite head over heels with and I had a lot of thoughts in my head about them that I decided to get out of my head by writing something up for them.
I talked about the dynamics that I liked between Neuvillette and Furina already and all the coinciding NeuviFuri material Mihoyoverse was shilling out with their commissions wasn't helping my brainrot either.
For something I pretty much shot out not too long after the update when live, I think I did a pretty damn good job. I had fun with the dynamics and trying to dig into the brain of the characters.
A Little Pain (still in progress even more slowly than AFD)
At the age of 7, there were a few things Hinata Hyuga was sure of. One, her father, Hiashi Hyuga, was the strongest shinobi she knew. Second, just the thought of her having to one day make decisions for her entire clan terrified her beyond belief. Third, her younger sister Hanabi, at the age of 2, was very easy to impress. Hinata Hyuga never wanted to lead her Clan and when she is stripped of her title and essentially an outcast in her home, she finds solace in the brief comforts of a pink-haired girl named Sakura. Though little did Hinata know that losing her heiress title would send her life spiraling down a path of self discovery, bravery, and the realization that changing yourself is a possibility is the most powerful jutsu of all. But... perhaps stopping yourself from fainting whenever you happen to be around your crush is a start. And convincing the entirety of Konoha that it's first all-kunoichi team won't be a complete and total failure should be prioritized before any of that.
Another one of my 'I started this in high school' stories that has been through a rewrite and I'm trying to finish little by little. SakuHina is one of my favorite Naruto ships, has been for years and as someone who has been reading over a decade of Naruto fanfic tropes, I've seen my fair share of 'what if A was on Team 7' fics.
(Here's a post I have on that lmao from my old blog before it got accidentally axed)
So I decided to write my own version of that but the new team in question is Konoha's very first all-kunoichi team. Also, Hinata has a crush on Sakura this time around instead of Naruto. And boy do I have a lot planned for this story, I'm excited every time I get back to my google docs and get to typing little by little.

my personal interpretation of c!wilbur is someone who read a lot of left over (functionally) historical propaganda over the revolutionary war and became radicalized, not fully grasping how his position in the world changes what his own desire for revolution really means. hes like a white knight lib to me (simplification but i hope it gets across)
ehhh i see where you're coming from but i don't really agree
to be clear i'm not super c!wilbur brained he's a fascinating character but i haven't watched enough c!wilbur content recently (especially early c!wilbur content) to really consider myself particularly uh able to give like, a nuanced read of the guy. but c!wilbur is honestly a lot more self-aware than a lot of people give him credit for. he crafts these narratives not because he inherently 100% believes them, you know?
there's a lot about mmm the lmanburg revolution and all that's quite openly ig like, underhanded even in the way that he plays it early on. the whole "words, not weapons" moment where he reveals that that's actually a ploy to stab people who believe them in the back comes to mind. the content creator himself has always asserted that a significant part of the creation of lmanburg is meant to assert and keep power, and this is something we see reflected again in the elections, which--uh, pretty obvious power thing, imo.
this isn't to say that like, being a good person and all isn't important to c!wilbur. it is. it's very important to him, and part of what shatters him so much in pogtopia is looking at what he's done and realizing that it doesn't really make him the best guy. but i don't think c!wilbur buys what he's selling like, at all in early lmanburg era. mans knows that he can speak things into reality and he uses that. a lot. part of why c!quackity unsettles him so much even as early back as the elections is because c!quackity was someone he couldn't get a clear read of and someone that therefore left him on the back foot. but in terms of the revolution, delivering them from oppression, etc etc--the fact that he owns this whole "we aren't like the brutish, tyrannical americans and their barbarity" while himself being american as established in boundless sands reeeeeally hammers in the whole irony of his lmanburg sales pitch.
as far as i can tell, i usually operate on the assumptions that like. 1) c!wilbur wants to make an impact, be remembered, legacy is a whole thing yadayada my unfinished symphony yadayada ozymandius yadayada literally all of the hamilton references. self explanatory. 2) c!wilbur is a character that often navigates the world + relationships to power in terms of "either you're the one with power or you're the one having power used against you"--a lot of his interactions reflect a need to have control over a situation, his interactions with people that he perceives as having power or threatening his power/control tend to involve challenging them and their authority, stick it to the man, the whole thing of putting a block under himself while talking to people. this could've been put better but yeagh. 3) c!wilbur wants to be respected + wants to be, like, a good leader? and he can get wrapped up in a lot of that while you know not having the most accurate perception of his Actual strengths 4) c!wilbur is self-aware and intelligent and charismatic, and he's quite confident of all of these qualities. he's a hell of a manipulator and uses manipulation quite often to get the upper hand in social situations 5) a lot of the power/control issues have roots in very real fear--he's a guy that's quite ill and obviously as we get into elections and pogtopia especially (schlatt scares the bejeezus out of him) we see a lot of that. realizing that his actions makes him a bad person affects him greatly and he ends up struggling with this idea for Quite a long time--he tries to get control over this by trying to Own the whole "i'm evil" thing <- also not put the best but ehhhhh ehh. again, not a c!wilburian and 6) c!wilbur, in the role of the "lmanburg narrative", takes the role as its writer. he's the one that comes up with the story in order to validate his creation and make it into a Thing, and this succeeds--but the mythos also quickly snowballs beyond him. he creates the story as it exists but it becomes something More, yknow? i don't think he ever truly believed in it i don't think that c!wilbur actually buys any of his stuff about revolutions and oppression and all of that, i dont really think lmanburg was any more legitimate of a cause when he began it as the drug van breaking bad rp that he made the day before. but it's a story that took hold and grew to have very real, tangible power that affected the whole server and affected him as well. which obviously goes into the whole exiting the narrative thing.
anyway that's all a bit of a rant and i'm not exactly the person to ask for c!wilbur thoughts but yeahhhh 🤷. i tend to no-nuance him a little bit bc he's a complicated character and im a hater 😂

What is your most disagreement take within the dog community? Not to start anything, but honestly curious as I'm wondering what you think needs to be addressed more within the community; like breed discrimination, or certain breeds having bad traits, or people having not so good ideas on what certain breeds should be.
1.) the dog community is huge so there’s not going to be a single opinion I can have that is is wide disagreement with it as a whole as it is too diverse for this to occur, however these are all my ~unpopular~ dog opinions:
I think the way that the AKC registers and titles dogs for conformation needs major reform. I think saying conformation is a “sport” as a majority of people here in North America do is harmful and breeds a competitive spirit in breeders/owners/and handlers as well as an unnecessary amount of physical uniformity within dog breeds.
What I would like to see (and what would never happen):
-graded conformation. (Meets standard Excellent, Good, Fair, Poor as an example). Get rid of the current point system.
-dogs must pass breed appropriate health testing and temperament testing to be championed or graded excellent and good examples of breed). For working breeds this in my opinion should include a working test of some kind.
- do not allow professional handlers.
-only register puppies of health tested parents.
- allow intact mixed bred dogs to compete in sporting, trick, companion test events and generally stop the villainizing of breeding mixed breed dogs when said breeding is done appropriately.
Not AKC related I think that in North America more shelters need to not be so strictly no kill (this opinion may be controversial amongst some dog folk but idc). There are dogs that are not temperamentally okay to live, such as those posing a legitimate danger to people and the general public, and letting them go painlessly is better than them languishing in the shelter system for years. The funds used to keep these dogs could be better served helping dogs that can actually be homes safely and/or helping struggling community members so their dogs do not have to enter the shelter system.
-FUND LOW COST VETERINARY CARE
-stop continuing to push laws and local legislation that seeks to restrict how people contain their dogs outside. Instead focus on reaching out to struggling community members in a positive way and respond to ethics concern with care for both the dogs and people involved. Funding low cost alternative containment/helping generally better containment and welfare of animals is imo better than legislating away the problem.
in a dog breed sense: stop woobifying dog breeds with the potential for aggression both towards dogs and people. Playing down a breed or dog type’s potential for dog or human aggression is not only dangerous but does a huge disservice to these breeds.
In a dog breeding sense: I think that those looking to better legitimize several popular companion breed mixes are doing good work but ultimately if they can’t drop the designer name and/or rally their communities instead of dividing into a bunch of little groups they are unlikely to succeed as they are then falling into some of the same traps as some purebred breeds. They have an opportunity to do better without hard baking those divisions into their communities.
-Stop naming dog breeds after indigenous racial slurs. Stop naming non indigenous dog breeds after indigenous groups.
-Companionship is a purpose.
-many dogs bred for sport are not fit temperamentally for their original purpose.
-“hated” dog breed mixed such as doodles and wolfdogs are NOT going away and are already being bred in large numbers (doodles way more obviously). Any attempts by the dog fancy or ethics groups to legislate these out of existence is pointless and will fail. Instead try and nudge these communities towards better breeding ethics and customer education. Uplift the breeders in these communities doing good work for health and temperament testing.
-people really need to stop adding Merle into every goddamn dog mix. It takes a lot of knowledge to breed Merle carefully. Some Merle variants in established purebreed dogs need serious examination from an ethical standpoint.
-crates are fine but like many other tools are very often over used to the point of cruelty. I usually find them unnecessary past puppyhood for well adjusted adult dogs.
-stop expecting everybody else to love your dog just because YOU love your dog. Your dog’s freedoms should not come at the expense of the general public’s ability to walk, bike, exist safely within public spaces.

On today's episode of "sports AUs that cater specifically to my interests and that I won't ever have the spoons to write":
JoeNicky synchronized divers AU
Hear me out
Diving is, at its core, an individual sport. It's just you and your ability to throw yourself acrobatically into the water vs a panel of judges, gravity, and a bunch of other people who are there for the same reason
But together with individual competitions, there's also synchronized diving, with two athletes from the same team diving side by side
So please imagine. Nicky and Joe being pro divers from the same country who are peak Competitive Bastards™️ about each other. In the individual competitions it's like all the others barely exist, as long as they come up higher than that guy it's ok
(They're so busy trying to outcompete the other that they constantly get better until they’re basically top ten in the world, go figure)
People think that if they were left alone in the same room they would murder each other, and then a coach (Andy? Quynh? Oscar Bertone? Who knows) has the brightest idea of the century
Put them together for the synchro competition
Shock, bafflement and scandal: "Why would you pair me with that guy?!"
"You are of similar height and also your styles are very similar, you're just too blinded by your pride to see it"
Listen. They may not stand each other, but they're still Competitive Bastards™️
They are NOT losing the chance for a medal just because they have to work with their mortal enemy
So they dive (heh) into the 'synching our diving routines until we look like a single person' training
And that's where it all goes topsy-turvy because. They are both Intense™️ in a way nobody else has ever really understood, not even the other divers in the team. And turns out they also have a similar sense of humour ("Di Genova, a sense of humour? Who would have thought"). And similar interests outside of the sport. And and and.
And they're training in the tiniest Speedos ever invented and I never said he wasn't attractive but NOW I also like him as a person and it's becoming A FUCKING PROBLEM
And then they compete, and they are ridiculously good, literally breathing in sync, what the fuck
(And then they kiss and become the most feared sync diving team in history)
(While still trying to outcompete the other in the individual competitions but now it feels like foreplay)
Not sure if the springboard or the platform would be more suited, I honestly think it could be either
Springboard is either 1 m (not an Olympic specialty) or 3 m (all international competitions including Olympics), it's 'funnier' because bouncy and also the difficulty of doing a lot of acrobatics in a relatively small aerial space before you get to the water
The platform is 10 m high and it's unhinged imo but also. Those two are canonically unhinged enough to not flinch at throwing themselves down into a pool at that height from a handstand position

People I am very suspicious of and do not trust:
Dr. Owens - I think this speaks for itself. He works with Brenner even if they don't always agree. Even though he seems like a decent person (he has morals most of the time unlike Brenner) he still is loyal to the lab above all else and there are clear ties to shady behavior regarding Henry, Will, and El. He knows a lot more than he's letting on. And bringing El straight to her abuser was an unforgivable move imo.
That FBI lady who worked with Owens - The secret agent dudes who were at the Byer's house fall into this category too. Because even though she got Hopper, Joyce, and Murray out of Russia and even though the agents protected Jonathan, Will, and Mike at the house they were still there on Owens orders. And I still think they were there to protect Will and not necessarily for El. That story didn't add up. Will even says they don't seem to be thinking things through, but I think that's because they aren't telling the truth so it just seems like they aren't thinking things through because they are holding back.
Lonnie - This dude is obvious an awful human being. Him and Brenner are the true villains here. There are a lot of unresolved issues here for Will, Jonathan, and Joyce. People I am sort of suspicious of but mainly because I need more information:
Kali - I cannot decide if she is good or bad but I feel like she was waiting for Henry so I lean more towards not trusting her. But she is ambiguous. I am very curious about her backstory and I think this will stir up good drama with El. But I really hope her friends don't join her.
El's Aunt Becky - I realize she helps Joyce and Hopper out in S1 and she helps El in S2. But this whole situation is weird. It seems like Terry is trying to warn El (at least about Kali). But does she work for the lab and is keeping an eye on Terry? Or is she innocent?
Hopper - He's obviously not a bad guy but what was the deal he made with the lab at the end of S1? Because in S2 it seems like his role here is to keep things quiet for them (he says as much to Owens) but that can't be all it is. He seems like he tries very hard to get Joyce to continue to take Will to the lab when she is ready to take him somewhere else. I am suspicious. I think when he traded El for Will at the end of the first season he was put in a really shitty position. He knew Will was dying and he knew El wasn't alone. He deliberately doesn't mention to Brenner that Nancy and Jonathan are at the school too and I think he did that because he was hoping it would be an advantage and would allow them to get El out. El does get away and this results in him searching for her and keeping her away from the lab. All while making sure Joyce is taking Will there for regular check ups with Owens. I don't think he is deliberately trying to hurt anyone. But I do think he has some secrets he probably should have shared a while ago.
Murray - We don't know much about him. He's incredibly paranoid and lives in a bunker. He knows Russian and a lot of info that is convenient. I could honestly see him being a traitor. I don't think he is for the record. But seriously, he could go either way. He could genuinely be a good guy helping out his friends. Or he could be a Russian operative collecting intel on the lab. Or he could work for that branch of the military trying to find El and is keeping an eye on things? Idk. But his lack of backstory makes me suspicious.
Flo - This woman has been quietly working in the police department for years. She knows shit. Don't tell me she hasn't put this whole damn thing together by now. Murray has ranted about a little Russian girl, and Troy was brought in because a bald girl broke his arm with her mind, Aunt Becky was calling looking for Hopper because a girl showed up at her house, a mother found some random girl at the park and she disappeared, Will and El look alike and Hopper was confusing the two in S1, and Joyce calls constantly because something is wrong with Will. Pretty sure she knows Hopper adopted this random Russian girl and is hiding her and Joyce is involved and she's just very tactfully minding her own business.
Henry - Obviously the dude has done some shady shit. However, there is clearly more to this story. I don't trust the version of events he tells Nancy and Brenner's version to El was "cherry picked". Victor also was unintentionally biased. I don't think Henry is necessarily redeemable at this point, but I do think we aren't getting the full story and some of it will likely reveal that he was a victim as much as Will, El, and Kali.
Karen - I always thought she knew way more than she was letting on even back in S1. The theories about her possibly being Alice Creel are interesting. I feel like she knows exactly what Nancy and Mike have been getting into and is worried about them and she's going to have to reveal some info soon.

katniss and peeta but instead of katniss being the archer and peeta being mirrorball it’s switched
because it works
peeta’s wondering if everyone can see through him: as in if people are looking at him, looking past him and noticing all his flaws. and it just becomes even worse after mockingjay because that truly is his most vulnerable moment
“I wake in the night, I pace like a ghost
The room is on fire, invisible smoke”
peeta basically just being haunted by everything. the torture, the false memories. they’re legit setting him ablaze.
“And all of my heroes die all alone
Help me hold onto you”
i feel like katniss would be his hero in a way. like she’s the hope and the katniss he loved died and was replaced by the memories of the capitol mutt rey wanted him to believe is her.
“I've been the archer
I've been the prey
Screaming, who could ever leave me, darling?
But who could stay?”
peeta’s lost at this point. no katniss, no one and it’s breaking him more and more as memories are replaced and his love is gradually turned to hatred. he’s now the archer, the fighter the capitol created to destroy katniss.
now katniss as mirrorball but specifically post catching fire - mockingjay
“And they called off the circus
Burned the disco down
When they sent home the horses
And the rodeo clowns” -
i feel like is more about the quarter quell and her destroying that arena.
“I'm still on that tightrope
I'm still trying everything to get you laughing at me” -
her being used as propo. she’s become the propaganda of a regime while still being a kid. she’s on that tightrope, being spun around to shine the rebellion in a positive light
“I'm still a believer but I don't know why
I've never been a natural
All I do is try, try, try”
she can’t act like peeta. she can’t fake things or sway people with her words. she’s just trying over and over again and every moment she’s just slipping further away.
“I'm still on that trapeze
I'm still trying everything
To keep you looking at me”
she’s just trying to get peeta back. she wants him to look at her and fight back.
they’re legit mirrorball x the archer but both work for each of them. imo their originals work the best but honestly i adore them

I double-checked and heard '100' as well. I'm the same as you, honestly it sounds positive to me but people are going to spin headlines. The fact he's opened up about struggling alone probably indicates he's feeling better about it - I guess speaking personally, when I was able to verbalise that I was having trouble at all with my writing, that was already the point where I was beginning to untangle it.
I'm more interested in GRRM's process from a writer's POV as opposed to waiting morosely for the endproduct, so that's the angle I like thinking about. His work is extremely ambitious, because he's got multiple working elements at once: not just multiple perspective characters, but he's trying to pull off a deconstructive commentary (I mean this in the literary criticism sense, not the sense used in fandom spaces which is 'thing bad? what do about it?') in addition to marrying the weighted moral/thematic complexity of a classic novel paired with the fantasy genre. LOTR is much more firmly in mythic territory than that imo.
I say this as someone who's not necessarily an ASOIAF superfan, but I find his work interesting just because holy fuck, George, of course it's taken you twelve years.
Tumblr media
(about this post)
Yeah, I think looking at this from a writer’s perspective gives one a lot more sympathy for how long it’s taking him to write. I've criticized him a fair bit myself, so I don’t feel overly protective of him, but most fans seem to ignore the vast difference between typical genre fiction and what he’s doing. I’ve said before, it’s literature, with all the layers and complexity that implies. Hence it taking a decade + to bring his story together just so (in addition to all the other reasons) and ghost writers not being a workable solution for him.
I've written some original stuff and with that, and with my fics, I have a similar style with the whole, knowing certain things, even having later bits of dialogue written, but not using an outline and just, writing until I reach those moments naturally. In the interview, Cornwell said he's a true gardener, doesn't even know how his own stories will end, but Martin has created a headache for himself by having established endgames, major beats, and what he's called set pieces that he's determined to naturally find. It's a difficult way to write. I think it does allow him some great characterization, but I honestly feel sick to my stomach when I think about what he has to be going through with that method and this series.
I'm sure no one is more anxious for him to finish the book than he is. Fanfic writers feel a weight over their unfinished fics, meta writers groan over metas sitting in their drafts, but none of us had the showrunners of the most popular TV show waiting for us to wrap it up, contracts with publishers, a mouthy worldwide fandom, our legacy hanging in the balance. Martin even talked about wanting to write the best book he could, knowing he's already kept people waiting so long, which means he's putting additional pressure on himself. I personally wish he took on fewer projects (distractions! demands!), but he has the right to a payday even if it is coming from HBO after the travesty of s8. He mentioned in that interview how there were times he thought his career was over, and I'm sure he never imagined he'd be so successful or become this wealthy. He should enjoy it!
I know there was a discord for Jonsas at one point, and I hope someone does that again when TWOW is gonna come out so people have a safe place to talk. I actually might wait for some Jonsas to post about their thoughts before I read it. I like spoilers, and I've stuck around this long to support the Jonsa fandom ( +spite for all the people who harassed us), so I don't think I'd be able to dip when TWOW comes out.

So during Mando S3 I saw a lot of people upset because they felt like the show was trying to say the New Republic is just as bad as the Empire. But like….I don’t think that’s what they were trying to show us at all actually.
I don’t think this is all some big point they’re trying to make about the New Republic also being bad or just as bad as the Empire, I think they’re simply showing us how the First Order was able to come into power later on. It’s not so much that the New Republic is bad, it is that Imperials and Imperial sympathizers were able to slip through the cracks and remain in positions of power and influence. That is not an unrealistic concept at all - it’s actually exactly what happened after Nazi Germany fell. Hundreds of members of the Nazi party remained in high ranking positions in the German government for up to TWENTY YEARS after the war. In the justice ministry alone there were over 100 former nazis as leading lawyers and judges. In 1977 77% of the senior officials in the justice ministry alone were former nazis!
The Mandalorians all being generally distrustful and lacking faith in the New Republic makes sense to me too. I have seen some people mention this next thing before, and it’s definitely a good point. Jon Favreau has very obviously made the Mandalorians Jewish coded, and season 3 just made it more clear and in your face. Din Djarin and the Mandalorians being distrustful of the New Republic is even more Jewish imo. The way Jewish people were commonly persecuted and oppressed by the state, as well as many state sanctioned pogroms and genocide - many Jewish people are aware of the fact that most states are not looking out for them and will not protect them, ESPECIALLY 70+ years ago and later. I honestly do see this mindset in the Mandalorians. After the Empire destroyed their planet, slaughtered their people and scattered them across the galaxy, why would the Mandalorians put their trust into any galaxy power but themselves? It’s not exactly like the Mandalorians had a strong, friendly relationship with the Republic before the Empire either.
Overall I just never got the feeling they were trying to write the New Republic as just as bad as the Empire. To me it just seems like they’re showing how instability enabled the First Order to form and come into power later on. And at the end of the season Din DID decide to work for them to hunt down ex Imperials, a clear indicator of who is the real bad guy. There were a lot of things in Mando s3 I heavily disliked but this stuff wasn’t one and I actually think it makes sense.

just saw a mildly irritating post that talked about seeing takes about how sdv is actually bourgeoisie or whatever (am not reblogging because the rest of the post was honestly kind of unrelated and i want to talk about this sdv claim w/o derailing the rest of it) as if that take popped out of the void when i know for a fact that that take specifically is a response to the much more common "stardew valley is actually a leftist anti-capitalist utopia" type takes, a thing that is even less true about stardew valley than claiming it's bourgeoisie
like. the double standard of making completely detached from reality statements about how left-wing the ideals of stardew are, and then claiming people making the opposite take are armchair activists like... you don't think claiming that you play sdv because it fits totally with your leftist values (rather than that you play it because it's cute and fun or any other thing you are probably actually choosing to play it based on) is a form of armchair activism? isnt it more weird to need everything in your life to perfectly align to your politics, not in the sense that you select your pastimes based on those politics, but that you select them based on non-political criteria & then insist to everyone that Actually This Is Based On My Politics even when we can all plainly see that it's not???
stardew valley is a little farming sim. whether you like to play it or not says nothing about your irl politics. but literally just by looking at what you do in the game, which is produce things so you can sell them to make more things, you guys cannot seriously be claiming THIS is your anti-capitalist utopia and get weirdly mad and project this sense of armchair activism onto people who point out that it just literally isn't. sdv is a lot of things, but anti-capitalist is so totally not one. and i have no interest in explaining the intricacies of how the sdv farmer could be capitalist when they throw joja out of town, because frankly i have seen other posts about that and i have yet to see anyone involved in arguing for #sdvleftistutopia demonstrate any understanding of like. well like even the most basic understanding of class dynamics or that the word bourgeoisie has a specific meaning that is distinct from 'rich person' or 'ceo of corporation'.
also everyone takes it wayyyy personal like saying that sdv isn't anti-capitalist somehow translates to saying anyone who plays sdv and is anti-capitalist is actually a FAKE LEFTIST BETRAYING THEIR VALUES which is just not what anyone is saying ever and acting like they are kills the conversation dead. the conversation that YOU STARTED by claiming sdv was leftist or whatever
inb4 anyone gets on my ass about letting people do what they want, i LOVE stardew valley. i have played more than 1000 hours of stardew valley. if pointing out that sdv is capitalist makes you shit your pants then actually i kind of think you are a fake fan. what was all this about the spreadsheets to maximize efficiency. just like think for even 20 seconds about what you do in the game and how it may actually clash with your irl politics and hope for the world and ultimately imo that will make you a much better leftist than insisting that everything you do is actually already leftist simply because it makes you feel nice and cozy. niceness and coziness are not correlated in any way with 'correct' politics and the sooner you internalize that without viewing it as an attack on the things in your life that are nice and cozy the less we will have to have stupid conversations like this
also last thought it's totally your prerogative to turn off your brain and not think about politics while gaming but if that's your position then don't get on tumblr dot com to claim these things are leftist (how would you know, your brain was off) and also when people kept their brains on (regardless of what their conclusion was about the internal politics of sdv, or for that matter any media) and are trying to talk about it to each other, don't annoyedly get on your high horse about how actually you shouldn't have to turn your brain on. you don't have to. stop talking to me about it if you won't though.
