okay i've answered my own question and i think i can say that the purple/pink that shows up when ember & wade's orange & blue mix, usually on wade when he's close enough to ember, IS additive color mixing!

i remembered that some physics site might have an interactive additive light toy, and:

turning down the green creates the orange (instead of yellow) and cerulean/azure (instead of cyan), and the combination of those colors Is a pinker/lighter magenta!

put that color against a screenshot:

it's the reflection of ember's light off wade: the brighter parts of her are yellow, and the brighter part of her reflection in him is an even brighter pink, closer to white, which lines up with the colors mixing additively, since yellow has more green light than orange, and this [combo of their colors] pink is the result of what would be white light with some of the green taken out. add it back in, and it's closer to white

i think it's really neat; love that for them

HEARTS OF THE SEA

Keigo Takami x GN/autistic!reader

AUTHOR NOTE: this is soooo self indulgent but I’ve been wanting to write this all week, but i had to prioritise uni work ;-; as an autistic person, finding rep in fanfics can be really difficult, especially with a character like keigo that has a mainly female demographic (trans male reader fics r so scarce</3) so! i hope i can add to the representation in x reader fics that are hardly written about<33

Keigo taking his autistic partner to an aquarium. He made sure to rent the place out; no crowded places, no noise that could potentially trigger a meltdown. Keigo wanted this to be the best experience for you; anything he could do for you he would.

You’re holding his hand through the tunnels as you gaze up in awe at the colourful array of marine life.

He knows your love for sea life - especially sharks - is something you hold very close to your heart. He loved that about you, your passion for the things that you loved.

The blue hues from the water refract from the curved glass, beaming down on you like a spotlight. Your eyes shine as you watch the sharks cut through the water, schools of fish weaving in and out of forests of healthy coral, the colours vibrant.

Keigo looks over at you, his heart bursts at the sight of you. You look so peaceful in your shared silence, surrounded by the beauty of the world.

His pupils slitted, tracing the life around you, arched just over your head. Panes of glass is all that separates the two of you from the hearts of the sea.

You flap your free hand, bouncing a little on the spot. Keigo notices how you’re smiling ear to ear. Genuine joy is riddled all over your face, seeing your special interest right in front of you.

He squeezes your hand in his gently as you stim, silently affirming that he’s never going to judge you for being yourself.

You walk together through jellyfish exhibits, dying of cuteness when you reach the penguin exhibits. You tease Keigo playfully when he points at a clownfish and confidently calls it “a nemo!”, a big smile lighting up his face.

When you get to the gift shop, you spend what feels like hours in there. Fawning over all the cute plushies and deciding that you’d buy an adopt-a-shark pack and excitedly wait for updates together when they arrived in the mail.

Keigo buys you a plush of your favourite shark, the biggest one he could find too. He buys himself a shell necklace after you reassure him that it’s not a real necklace - it looks gorgeous on him.

You leave the aquarium with the biggest smile on your face, and you ramble about your visit together all the way home. You cuddle both Keigo and your shark plush to sleep that night.

Don’t know if a business like this already exists, and if it does please tell me, but I think it would be cool to have a store that sells autistic-friendly clothing. Clothes not just tolerable to autistic people, but actively suited to accommodate and be convenient for us. Ideas:

Comfortable fabrics; no mesh or other irritating features; printed labels and small seams.

Sparkly and shimmery features, like sequins, glitter and metallic squares and strips, in places the wearer can see, like the front, hem and sleeve cuffs. So you can visually stim by just looking down and you can get lovely refractions by rippling and tilting the fabric and moving your arms.

Lights can sometimes be integrated as an additional means of visual stimming.

Lots of practical pockets! For random stuff, stim tools, comfort objects and in case you see a cool object to add to your cool object collection.

You know the strings on hoodies? The ends of these ones can have chewable pendants. Collars and cuffs of other tops can also come with chewable silicone on them (possibly removable).

Sections of different textures for tactile stimming. They have a uniform lining to avoid discomfort.

Various clothes are fully or partially made of a crackly/rustly/swishy/etc. material, or have clickers or those popping bubbles on silicone patches (they could be built into shoes too), to enable on-the-go auditory stimming. If you find noises like that unpleasant, you can get versions of the same items in a much quieter material.

Zips for motor and auditory stimming.

Optional cords and dangly bits to fiddle with and enhance stimming movements.

Some items are lightly weighted and/or can easily, safely have weights attached to or put in them, for when you need to feel grounded and pressed on. A starter set of weights come with the latter, obviously.

Ideally clothes should be as durable, washable and repairable as possible so those who get emotionally attached to Their Specific Thing and its reassuring familiarity are less likely to need to throw it away. Clear, precise care and maintenance tips should be easily accessible.

Chewellery, fidget rings, sunglasses and noise-cancelling headphones can be sold at the same store - outfits need accessories, after all. I already have the perfect name: stimwear.
