do you think there are ever identical twins who are actors who have markedly different levels of fame? like does anybody look at Aaron Ashmore and go "no, he won't do, we need Shawn in this role or nobody."

am i the only one still weirded out by sokkas actor lying about being indigenous or did i miss something. like was that false information or did he apologize and were like well hes a kid so whatever or how is it. it just felt like such a huge deal back then and then everyone stopped talking about it
oh yeah! i forget what i've posted on this blog versus what i've talked about with friends online and in person, so i may have not said it on this blog. ive personally been pirating the live action, because im not sure if theyve ever commented on this. if anyone knows what came of it - if there was any acknowledgement by netflix, etc? i'd love a link. it is weird & sour point for me watching especially w sokkas char. and id totally get why people wouldnt wanna watch the show at all because of it.

Warner Bros really saw this film dying in theatres basically...and decided why not kill it even more by...putting it on something only Crypto Bros are obsessed with and use.
Truly going for Morbius' throne here.

Who would’ve you casted for the Ms and Mr Smith remake? And thoughts on the actual cast and were u a fan of the movie?
I mean, after @riosnecktattoo got this ask today, I now want Manny and Christina, haha.
But okay, if we're talking like - - major movie, and with the main criteria for starring in Mr and Mrs Smith being y'know, actors who are hot, charismatic action stars though, I think for re-casting I'd go Lashanna Lynch and Chris Pang, because I love them both a lot and think they'd be so sexy trying to kill / fuck each other.
It's been so long since I've seen the original, I'm not sure if I have all that many thoughts on it, to be honest! I do remember Angelina Jolie being great in it though, but I find she's pretty solid in most of her movies. It might be time for a rewatch ;-)

im hoping that the movies greta gerwig is apparently attached to direct are previously unadapted ones cause it's not been long enough since the original 00s lww-dt run for it to have really faded from the public consciousness and it would feel very much like retreading old ground. saying that, she's an insightful and compassionate director with a good eye for set design and creating a very immersive world, so i think if the rumours pan out they'd be good films!

The decision to switch from recasting younger sw characters as actors who may not be a physical dead ringer (Alden ehrenreich as Han) to full cgi replications of real people was a net loss not only for sw but literally for the digital ethics of society as a whole

Omg yes to your last post ! In every. Single. Article. They just can't stop mentioning MJF's height, like...we get it, he's short ? I mean I've even seen an article whose headline essentially read "He's small, he's puny (yeah, they used the word puny lmao), but somehow also attractive" like it was astonishing that a small man could be attractive ? You are right, kuddos to him for handling it so well and sometimes even anticipating it by making the joke himself. We LOVE a confident short king. <3
I can't get over that headline. Wow. Some articles definitely treated MJF as some sort of anomaly. "This man is. Small?? But people still like him?? He's somehow managed to craft a full and successful life for himself despite--tragically--being short."
It must have been frustrating to walk into interviews knowing his height would inevitably be a focus at some point. (He also was originally rejected for the role of Alex in Family Ties because they said he was too short!) Michael totally made the best of it and owned it.
Thanks for the ask!

You’re Wrong about Black Panther (2018)
This video essay is phenomenal. A true masterclass on film analysis and social commentary. F. D breaks down so many themes and historical beats interwoven throughout the first Black Panther film that so many people (including myself) missed or were unable to articulate. I’m somehow even more excited to head to the theater on Friday after watching this. Even if you aren’t planning to see Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, you should do yourself a favor and give this a watch.
