Escape from L.A. (1996)
Kurt Russell actually practiced playing basketball in between scenes because he wanted to legitimately make every shot during the basketball challenge. He made every shot, including the full court one.

Battle of the Ships
Round 1 Part 2 Poll 8

Descriptions and propaganda under the cut
Description for the Escape From L.A. : Idk. The kind that it feels weird to call a ship. It’s more of a boat. But it’s suitable for living inside. Has a water bed.
Propaganda for the Escape from L.A. : BoJack goes to New Mexico for uhhh (checks his pockets for an excuse) the Santa Fe boat show. You haven’t heard of it? Of course you haven’t heard of it. It’s a secret boat show for famous celebrities. Yes, he knows New Mexico is landlocked. Yes, this is the reason he came here. No, it’s not a lie he came up with to avoid admitting that he just wanted to see Charlotte. Anyway that’s his flimsy story, he eventually goes out and buys the boat. Charlotte’s daughter Penny comes up with the name. BoJack opened up to her earlier about the real reason he came (“I didn’t like the person I was in LA, and I didn’t know where else to go.”) And his boat just stays parked next to Charlotte’s house for two full months, until he takes Penny to prom, she propositions him, he says no, he asks Charlotte to run away with him, she says no, then he goes back to Penny and says yeah let’s fuck. I mean I’m 51 and you’re 17 which is old enough to consent according to New Mexico state law. Who the fuck cares about the morality of it? So they go to his room on the boat but then Charlotte walks in on them before they actually do anything. It’s a very fucked up event that will have lasting consequences for the rest of the series and I think the boat being the locale of that event makes it a worthy contestant. Also the episode (s2e11) is just really pretty, visually speaking at least. But also super well-written. Then BoJack takes the boat home and it’s just parked outside his house for most of season 3 until character actress Margo Martindale takes it out to international waters bc she’s a fugitive from the law and wants to avoid getting caught. In the season finale she crashes into a cargo ship full of spaghetti, putting the residents of Pacific Ocean city at risk of being smothered by the literal boatload of pasta, but luckily this makes for the perfect opportunity for Mr. Peanutbutter to put all those spaghetti strainers he bought to good use! Like literally he just bought hundreds upon hundreds of spaghetti strainers and they’ve just been sitting in his house all season and this is the payoff. And the Escape from L.A. is never seen again.
Please watch this show if you haven’t already. If the above paragraph doesn’t win you over idk what will.
Description for the King of Red Lions : Little sentient and red sailboat. Link sails it all over the Great Sea
Propaganda for the King of Red Lions : Actually Daphnes Nohansen, old king of Hyrule but he spends almost all of the game in boat form and can talk.

I have never been more aware that a movie was made in the late-nineties than when watching Escape From L.A.

Remember how the President in Escape from L.A. moved the Capital from Washington D.C. to his hometown of Lynchburg, VA? How did that work, exactly? Did he run the country from his estate? Did they take over some local gov't buildings? Was it a de facto vs de jure situation? Were there daily commutes between the two cities?

Bruce Campbell's propensity for being in bad horror movies (affectionate) is astounding.
