What're these? :3
Tumblr media
Quirkens: a term for when you have or wish to accquire a quirk. It was made for MHA/BNHA introjects and alterhumans, more specifically the ones in our system, but anyone can use them. You also don't have to know about MHA/BNHA or even watch it to identify with this term.
Porens: An alternative to quirken; for when you have or wish to accquire a certain (super)power.
Codintent: For when you're coded to have [X] intent. I.E. kindintent, for when you're coded to be kind to others / have kindness in your core.
Xenointent: A version of codintent where you have X in your code. I.E. Angelintent, for when you have angels in your code.

Heads up that I'm going to start reblogging quirken, poren, and altersex terms (+ any similar umbrellas) onto here along aldernic terms! They're not aldernic terms, but they fall under the same general concept so I think it's a good idea to have them all in one place

is it just me or does quirken sound like a transid? i know the creator doesn't want it to be, but objectively, it has the same wording as other transids...

[ID in alt text.]
-talent-: An affix term for those who have or wish to have a talent. Made for those with Talentless Nana as a source/connectus/etc. in mind, but not exclusively. Talent, in this context, references a power/superpower (as in “paranormal talent”) with a specific drawback. Usage would be [talent]talent[drawback] (or [talent]talent-[drawback]), [talent]talent, or talent[drawback]
Those who identify as -talent- may call themselves “talentec” if they wish (i.e. “I am talentec”)
Examples:
Telekintalent: one who has or wishes to have a telekinesis talent, with an unknown/unspecified drawback
Talentuse: one who has or wishes to have an unknown/unspecified talent, with a drawback involving long term use of the talent (i.e.; lifespan decreases as the talent is used more)
Glacitalentanthro (or Glacitalent-anthro): one who has or wishes to have a ice talent, but the drawback involves people (i.e.; not being able to freeze people)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
[IDs in alt text]
I made two more flags: The first is for when people use “-talent” as only a suffix (like telekintalent), the person is upside down to represent being incomplete without a drawback. The second is for when people use “talent-” as only a prefix (like talentuse), the X over the face represents downfall. The main flag can still be used for either of these, but it’s intended to be for the “full identity”
Inspired by @catgirlprotag ‘s -quirken/-poren terms (& by my fixation on talentless nana)

Hi there! So I'm writing this book where the whole world is a magical forest, and I wanted to make it so everyone who lives there is Jewish, and also be witches of course, because it's a magical forest. And I also wanted to write some spells in Hebrew to add in. So, is that okay?
Magical Jewish forest people, spells in Hebrew
It's ok to have Hebrew in books generally, but are you aware of the debate/issues with magic and Judaism? Take a peek at what we've written here previously on magic. I can't, and don't want to, just rubber stamp "approved" on your concept, without a lot more information.
-- Dierdra
Agree with Dierdra – witches and magic are a problem but would need more detail to say more.
-Shoshi
The all-Jewish cast
If you are Jewish please ignore this bit but -- if you’re not, what draws you to writing a story with an all-Jewish cast? Do you have the knowledge background to know if you’ve unintentionally included tropes and ideas that turn out to be culturally Christian or just otherwise unJewish? Plus, using Hebrew for magic spells seems a little exoticizing if it's not, in fact, a language that has any relevance to you personally--otherwise why not just make the spells in the same language as the story is written? The purpose of using a different language for spells in a witch story is so the spells will sound magical and "other"-y, and that has funky connotations in this context. (If you’re Jewish, have at!)

kombucha?
27. Kombucha: what do you order on a pizza?
Hm, good question. Uh, well for some reason I just like plain cheese pizzas most the time (extra cheesy if available :D), but if I’m making a pizza, or I actually want something more, then generally olives, pineapple, and also sometimes salami.
Thanks so much for the ask! And here’s the post with the tea asks if anyone feels like asking one :3

my fave thing is that glitch looks very edgy post Quirkening when hes error and youd think with his backstory hed be all angsty (and he can be) but ALSO the idea of just. you come into class and your teacher has an ankle braclet because he dropped out of hero school to commit hero felonies and now hes giving you detention. he tells you he can just pass food through to his stomach so he doesn't eat and you cant tell if hes serious

Wait, fourth generation? It’s been more than four generations since the Quirkening, and they’re just now ironing out the laws surrounding it? What is wrong with this society?!

when I was in elementary school imagining up my own narnia-esque fantasy world in the woods behind my school, I invented a race of tiny multicolored intelligent talking gryphons and called the race “quirkens” pronounced “queer-ken”
and if that doesn’t explain my entire current state of being idk what else will
