Every day of the year, not just during Pride Month. Trans and GNC lives are ALWAYS important and ALWAYS relevant.

Tumblr fandom logic these days: if two characters with different sets of genitals hook up, then they’re straight and cis and the ship is hetero and it’s all Bad and Boring and Problematic

That post about everything being "Nah" I felt in my core. I'll always respect people who identify differently but when they ask me "what's your pronouns?" Or "where do you lie romanticaly?" I'm just "eh call me whatever you want I guess" or *I don't feel romantically for much anything" maybe cause online people always thought I'm one gender and irl people always thought I was the other so I just responded with "sure I guess"
and it's honestly such an easier way to live ngl... like when it comes to people who Know that i use they/them, it hurts to hear my given pronouns. but when it comes to strangers and just people who i haven't told, it's like... "yeah. ok. ill put on this hat" it feels a bit like a performance. it feels Mischievous, even! ohoho, they've been Tricked!

People who see entire demographics of humanity as “the enemy” are so baffling to me, whether they’re incels/misogynists or racists or radfems or whomever I just look at them and wonder why you’d choose a life of such misery. People of a certain gender, sexuality, race or whatever demographic are not inherently your enemy just because they are part of said demographic. Gender and race essentialism is incredibly dangerous and untrue and it especially confuses me when people who claim to be trans allies abide by the former because that mindset is especially dangerous to trans people.
People are individuals, not a hive mind. Society as a whole has massive issues, and some groups may benefit from them more than others (like how the patriarchy hurts men but they still benefit from it far more than women ever will because it has men in mind, albeit only a certain type of man), but individuals are individuals. And what a depressing life it must be to instead navigate the world believing that millions of people are beneath you before they’ve even spoken a word.

If you don't like the mustache that's fine, just say you don't like it. But saying you don't like it because you think it makes gerard, a genderqueer person who uses he/they pronouns, look less "femme" or genderqueer is really a bad look.

its so mindboggling that people can go “how can you say free palestine if you’re queer” as if the opinions a person has changes the validity of their life??? yall sound real similar to the people saying trans people are a danger to society

Whats the thing that tipped it romantic for you in shadowpeach? Mine was macaque calling wukong a gem (pretty gem in spanish) and i know lots of people was the sun and the moon, but you said it was the s4 specials for you
s4 specials for sure! Their argument in 4x11 is what made it click in my brain.
I think a lot of what we see before then can be interpreted in a very platonic fashion, and for me personally I don't read the "You are such a gem" line as romantic. Macaque is a dramatic theater kid, and he's pretty antagonizing, so nothing ever made me think "oh. they're exes".
Even in 2x07 with the whole "sun and the moon" bit, Macaque and Wukong's past dynamic is compared to MK and Wukong's current one, as well as to MK and his friends ("The moment the hero got real power, he couldn't care less about his friends! That's you bud.").
Then 4x11 gives us added context on what their relationship had been before everything, and it's like: oh. There's more than friendship there. But there's also more than romance there.
Honestly, I don't even think they knew what they were, but either way their broken relationship hurt both of them. The bitter feelings they both have for one another show, and maybe now they can get to working past that and understanding themselves and their relationship better.

excuse me I'm annoyed and I'm gonna rant for a second :)

#if you're one of the people who won't stop talking about how people are jumping ship for buck and tommy#and how we're never gonna get buddie endgame#letting Buck explore this new and probably very scary part of his life is not a bad thing!#letting him explore and learn with tommy or literally any other guy is not a bad thing!#they didn't make buck bi just so theh could slap us with buddie in the next episode!#and all of this negativity is just exhausting#you don't have to like Tommy. and I know there are people who are not fans of his for so many different reasons and that's fine!#but getting worked up because people are happy about Buck get to have these firsts with someone who isn't Eddie just isn't it!#Buck's not bi just for Buddie. Buck's bi because he's bi! and you have to learn to deal with that!#and I trust Oliver and I trust Tim to give us this story with the respect and time it deserves to have to play out#because y'all would absolutely throw a fit if they rushed into Buddie right#now#we've waited this long and we have a wonderful depiction of a man in his 30s who is going to get the chance to settle into his sexuality#like he deserves too!#and then when it's time we're gonna get queer Eddie and it's going to be equally as important and Buck's story#y'all just have to chill because I don't know how some people enjoy this show the way they immediately jump to the negativity of it all#christina talks about 911#911 spoilers#also scary is not the word I wanted for that 3rd tag#more unknown rather than scary

#since I talked in the tags a lil before#i also need to say that the political situation in Georgia has been a big pile of shit lately#that’s mostly why I don’t have the energy to engage with anything atm#everything is so hopeless#I just try to play video games these days to take my mind off stuff#but to explain it a bit#there is this one law the parliament already tried to pass last year but then didn’t because thousands came out to rally against it#the law is about ‘foreign agents’ and it’s directly copied from kremlin’s law in Russia#where the govt basically uses it to just cleanse the country from anyone they don’t like#So now this law is back and they have voted a yes two times#and will vote a yes third time#which is absolutely devastated news for anyone here#because if this law is instituted#basically say bye to foreign scholarships#to ngos financed from foreign countries that work to protect queer and trans peeps#rehabilitate refugees domestic violence victims etc#there will be no new roads in removed highland villages that rely mostly on international financial aid#no education opportunities for poor kids etc#this law literally equals death#and it will be heavily used to just cleanse Georgia of people who don’t think like Kremlin#and I am so fucking scared rn#There have been protests for 3 days#tens of thousands of people on the streets#but parliaments just keeps ignoring people#Or using police brutality against them#they are beating people up#jailing them for peaceful protests etc#it’s absolute nightmare#I’m just so tired of Russia#why won’t they die with everyone who supports them I wanna cry

yall this old lady craft group is the best thing ever and i want to cry thinking abt how grateful i am to have it fjfkdl i think this might be the one group that i feel wholly welcomed into and actually a real part of for the first time in my life ;-; ♡
the group leader always seems to want me to sit next to her and her daughter is always interested in seeing what im working on when she comes at the end and she also tells me abt different crochet patterns she's seen on fb marketplace or she brings in old patterns for me to look through and take what i want, and then the card maker lady is offering to give me this big old crocheted clown doll that her mum made her years ago and she immediately offered to give me a ride home without me even saying anything (so that i wouldnt have to try take it home on the bus fjdkdl), and they were all super excited for me when i told them I was able to fix my accordion, and they just... treat me like an equal and a human person and fjdksl man ... it's so nice
AND IM JUST 😭💗 about it all !!!! it all feels so foreign to me !!!! i do not know when I've ever felt so fully part of a group and an equal to everyone there !!!

Some excerpts from Adv. Vrinda Grover's statement at the Supreme Court of India, as a part of the 15 petitions that were heard for the marriage equality bill. She presented arguments for the concept of a chosen family which was a more progressive stance on how families/unions could be defined by the constitution and it goes beyond just same-sex marriage. It could cover polyamory and recognition of queerplatonic intimacies between 2 or more individuals, and much more:
“During COVID, a study that was done on trans persons found that when trans persons due to lockdown and the nature of the disease, had to return to their natal families and their homes. Over there they faced violence. They faced conversion therapy which is prohibited. And that was actually an illustration of what would happen if other social formations of care and support did not exist. This is what has been described as an atypical family. This form of chosen family is recognized in our law; for instance, adoption.
Adoption is a form of chosen family. Today we recognize families and we conceptualize family as by blood, marriage or adoption."
"There is increasing legislative and judicial recognition of a person who may not necessarily be conjoined through marriage or conjugal intimacies. In relation to the advanced directive, every person who is not a minor shall have a right to make an advanced directive in writing specifying any of the following individual or individuals in order of precedents he wants to appoint as his nominated representatives.
"..Ensure that laws and policies recognize the diversity of family forms, including those not defined by descent or marriage and take all necessary legislative, administrative and other measures to ensure that no family may be subjected to discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity of any of its members, including with regard to family related social welfare and other public benefits, etc. "
"I would say that what we are canvassing before this court is a different imagination. A new imagination of marriage and relationships and of family. An imagination which actually places at the foundation, love, care, and respect which may or may not come from the natal family because of my sexual orientation and gender identity.”
"There can be a feminist jurisprudence and feminist critique of family and that family can perpetuate caste purity and patriarchal control; so there may be persons who are of different sexual orientations and gender identities, which because of the hostility of natal families actually form intimacies that are non-marital, non-procreative, which are intimacies that are the only social conclave and support they can find."
Her statements were pleasantly surprising. Most of the earlier petitions chose to only focus on gay marriage and trans people having the right to marry, and I didn't expect any of the (star)lawyers/petitioners to go beyond that. But this. This is a sign of liberation. It reminds me a lot of the family code that granted marriage equality in Cuba. I love that we have some very progressive minds fighting this case.

Original pic stolen from twitter but OMG LOOK AT THEM. Once again referencing that Shu is the light and Mika the shadow, the sun and the moon, but also note how the sun character is the more "femme" presenting one i.e. presenting us with the dress side of the costume or just wearing a dress altogether. Shu also mirrors this, thereby proving that he plays the "female part" in their performances. I really hope the climax discusses gender more because I find it really fun that Happyele chose for a dynamic where the lead is the femme part with a supporting male role. Their dynamic, not only in this performance but also in general, is like Orpheus and Eurydice but with the roles reversed (and hopefully without the tragic ending...)

I'm listening to the audiobook of "I Kissed Shara Wheeler", and oh boy the line where Georgia says they need Chloe because, as the bisexual, she's the only one in their gay friend group who can do math resonates way harder than it needed to.

been thinking a lot about womanhood lately
#like. i don't exactly identify as being a woman. in contrast i do have a strong nonbinary/muunsukupuolinen identity#yet i do feel and acknowledge that in most contexts i AM a woman#not only because that's what most of the world sees me as but that's also consecuently how i move through the world#there is no one set way for women to experoence the world but i do feel like my experience is one of those. because i am gendered as a woman#it used to make me uncomfortable and dysphoric and i'm not saying that now it never does#but i have made my peace with it? like. i feel like i have “let womanhood in” as a part of my identity#and i have also realized that it's not actually being seen as a woman that makes me uncomfortable but being seen SOLELY as a woman#like my friends calling me a woman or my partner calling me their girlfriend doesnt sting usually#because i know they also see the other parts of my gender identity#but when a coworker refers to me with she/her or includes me in “ladies” it stings. because i know that's all they see#like YES i can be a woman. if you acknowledge that i am a bit of a weird woman.#i can be a woman if you acknowledge that i am a gnc woman. a bisexual woman. a queer woman. a woman who is sometimes bit of a man.#if you see and acknowledge that we can talk#however i am NOT a nonbinary woman. i am nonbinary AND a woman. which to some people is the same thing#but to me it's an important distinction. being nonbinary and being a woman are both parts of my gender identity but in very different ways#and very distinctively. lumping them together as equal parts of my identity as i feel the term “nonbinary woman” does doesn't describe me#i am enthusiastically nonbinary. i am begrudgingly a woman. i'm a woman with a long footnote explanation. woman¹#“nonbinary woman” also doesnt feel like it accommodates the way i relate to manhood or boyhood. but that's a whole another tedtalk#i'm not a man but i like how it looks. and i'm not a man i'm just borrowing parts of it for genderfuckery reasons#idk how to explain it in english...#in finnish i would say that en oo mies mut joskus lainaan tai iahn vaa ihailen asioita mieheyden kuvastosta.#but because in social situations and In Our Society That We Live In you mostly can just choose one gender and it's either man or a woman#thennout of those i would rather be a woman. legally. with strangers. you know. not a woman but kind of yes because i relate to other women#if i could be seen only as nonbinary i would. but then again my nonbinaryness does encompass some parts of both womanhood and manhood.#so i guess people would have trouble seeing it as “only nonbinsry”#idk man. it's complicated and also changes emphasis multiple times a year#ask me again a month from now and the gender landscape will be interpreted completely differently#gender#nowe talks
